Lynn is an amazing chef with wonderful, friendly staff. The food was great, we will be back! We ordered the peppercorn ribeye, shrimp ravioli, and shrimp fettuccine. All cooked perfectly and delicious 👌🏼
Quality of food should have been better given the price. Spinach salad had mediocre dressing with extremely under ripe “grilled” pears. Steak was slightly overdone, chicken piccata was dry with a bland sauce, pork tenderloin had a sauce that again was bland. All came with scalloped potatoes and mixed veggies that were good. Crème brullee was excellent. Paying $310 for 4 people, for a ho-hum meal did not leave me wanting to return here.
Wonderful dining experience and great food with a local legend. Chef Lynn has been cooking classic French meals in Kirkland for over 20 years and still brings the passion to her cooking that is usually only seen in newer chefs. Bravo!
We have been coming to Lynn's for 20 years since moving to Kirkland, and her food never disappoints. While we routinely try out new places, Lynn's is like a reliable warm hug from an old friend. Her sauces are to die for, and everything perfectly cooked. It's difficult to choose my favorite, but her shrimp ravioli, french onion soup, and filet mignon are top of my list. Sat evening i had Fish of the Day, which was Salmon in mushroom butter sauce. It comes with sautéed vegetables and scalloped potatoes. My husband had crab cakes in lobster sauce which came with the same sides. This guy who detests anything green gobbled down the vegetables first. It's a testament to how perfect Lynn's sautéed vegetables are. He also never eat soup, except the French onion soup at Lynn's. My salmon was perfectly cooked, silky smooth and full of flavor. Crab cakes were large chunks of jumbo lumps in a lobster sauce that makes you mop up every drop with the hot french rolls. Service was friendly and prompt without pretentiousness. Lynn's is a gem that will have you coming back for repeat visits.
Great place to have some French food. Imy wife and I would probably skip the French soup. It's decent but we prefer other places where there is more onions (caramelized!) And crispy croutons rather than soggy ones. The duck I had and the escargot that my wife had as well as the crab cakes were great. The desserts are yummy too. The best really are the sauces on the entrees! Hahaha.
Cute small local restaurant in Kirkland with a chef who is dedicated to bringing Asian-influenced French cuisine to the Pacific Northwest. Cozy and delightfully decorated interiors (you'll notice the collection of colorful plates on the wall), generous dish portion, fresh & local ingredients, rich flavor, reasonable price point, and super warm & friendly staff (including Lynn - the owner and chef herself!). We'll be back for more!
Wow, tried escargot for the first time! Consistency is sorta similar to slightly undercooked chicken?? But it actually tasted pretty good. Went here back in May so I don't remember exactly what we got, just that it was quite good. Oh and an excellent atmosphere inside.
Mixed reviews. Online menu is wrong and when reporting it to the owner she complained. My onion soup was fantastic. I got the crab quiche special and it was bland and very dry. I didn't eat it. There were only 2 tables occupied and an elderly couple with a cane entered asking for a 4-top for more space. They were seated by the nice wait staff, but was then scolded again by the owner that they were not allowed to sit at a larger table! How rude! I counted 6 open 4-top tables with no other people entering. Need better customer service with management.
Had a wonderful dinner celebrating my parents 65th wedding anniversary. Each course outdid the previous one. A special place for special people.
I got the Shrimp Fettucine, which was delicious. The portion size was big and the sauce was very flavorful. The service was great as well.
We loved our first experience here. However, this thanksgiving, my husband felt unwell with some stomach issues after having the halibut (catch of the day) here. Food
Still worth a visit
Didnt honor reservation, rude waiter
awesome food
Lynn is a superb chef with a French flair with her food. Never disappointed! Will go back several times!
Excellent French food with sad old fashioned decor. Giving the atmosphere two stars for the playlist (singers and standards, a classic choice) but everything about the dining room screams This was okay in the late 80s. I think the quality of food makes it still a good choice, with a reasonable pre fixe and solidly executed standards like filet mignon and duck breast. Just dont expect a side of ambience.
Parking: Just few parking spaces. Food
Escargot and dessert, always delicious. Great service also.
More of you should be eating here. I m just saying. Great place. Good place to have a conversation with friends you haven t seen in awhile. Food is delicious. Great portions. Excellent wine list. Corkage fee is $15. Friendly, efficient service.
I wasn t impressed by the food unfortunately!
Decent food, really rude waitress. Micromanaged our order, tried to upsell and made us really uncomfortable.
Berry good service!!
Lovely cook who greets everyone with enthusiasm, with great atmosphere. The food did not spark joy.
Best shrimp dish Ive ever had! Potatoes were amazing too. Ill go back again for sure.
Its so good. Its also up there is price for me but you get great value when all is said and done. I love the food, service and atmosphere. The $70 per person menu was out standing.
Friend made reservation and I saw reservation only on the door. Probably best to have reservation before going. My favorite was the duck breast, which was the most tender one I have ever had. I also love their desserts, like crème brûlée and bread pudding, while I don t usually like desserts. People also go there for escargot, crab cake, and chicken pate, and I think those were decent. However, I truly couldn t find other good French restaurants in Seattle area.
Delicious food and wine. Wonderful service.
The mutton is a bit fishy
Fantastic French cuisine, best fresh bread, very delicious crab cakes and the best Ceasar salad!
Tasty meal in a nice atmosphere! It was our friend s birthday and they gave her a complimentary glass of bubbly when we arrived! Meal portions were large.
Food was amazing. Service was one of the worst I have seen in my life. Not only is the wait time ridiculous, the servers were also rude. Pretty French I suppose.
Booked half the restaurant for a company dinner and it was a fantastic experience. The owner was extremely accommodating working with me to setup a menu that would suit our palette including adding many vegetarian items that are usually not served. French onion soup is absolutely delicious. The lamb entree was perfectly cooked and wished there was more. The rum bread pudding to end the meal was a perfect balance of sweetness and texture. Loved the staff and even let us stay a little after closing.
We had the lamb shank and crab cakes, they were delicious. Staff was very friendly as well.
Great diner food and the price is reasonable.
Tried Seattle restaurant week menu, food was very tasty and bread pudding was amazing.. all the staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Will definitely be back.
Parking: Street parking Kid-friendliness: No
We had not been to Lynns before...or even to Kirkland for a while. Staff and service were impeccable! We were first attracted by the menu options.. our dinners were all great. From the Caesar salads to the entrees. We will be back!!
I ordered a medium steak but was given rare, closer to blue. Check image, that is not a medium steak. Everything else was pretty good.
Was soooo good. Had the lamb shank, was delicious!!!
Always a great experience at Lynnes! Service, food and ambiance super!
Everything was good
Great little french restaurant, a bit out of the way. They ve always been able to get us in even when we didn t have a reservation.
Lynn helped us feed a group of 24 in town for a wedding as a catering take-out order. We had tins of crab cakes in lobster sauce, rack of lamb in sauce Robert, and duck in cherry merlot sauce, along with scalloped potatoes, a vegetable mix including brussels sprouts with mushrooms separate, and rolls. We made our own spring mix salad. To help all transport well, she left the duck breasts whole for us to carve, and all sauces separate for us to pour over. All 3 proteins were fantastic and the potatoes were a nice accompaniment. The mushrooms were also quite good. Our only complaint would be the Brussels sprouts were undercooked and the whole pan of veggies under-seasoned. Next time Id omit Brussels sprouts from the vegetable assortment. We had a lot of leftovers which we enjoyed at later meals. Everything reheated well, including the beds of kale under the duck and lamb, nicely flavored by the sauces. We roasted the mixed veggies to cook them further and added additional seasoning. This was our first time eating Lynns creations, and we would highly recommend her bistro. I would struggle to decide between the crab, lamb, and duck when eating in the restaurant because they were all so delicious, cooked and flavored just right.
Good bistro fare
Great service and wonderful food. Texture of tiger prawn was exceptional. My soul was in Paris on the first bite.
Best meal I have had all year!! Chicken Pacatta was outstanding and my friends said the filet was also.
Delicious local gem! We ordered take out and did the prix fixe 35$ menu. Food was hot and tasty and came with warm bread rolls.
Nice European flavor. Great service and food.
$35 prix fix was a great value. Got the spinach salad with sauteed pears, crab cake and bread pudding. Also got the shrimp fettuccine a la carte and it was a good portion with light but flavorful sauce and many shrimps.
Food and service was great. Need to create a cocktail menu.
Fabulous dinner, service and great menu. If you havent been, go!
One of my absolute favorite restaurants! Crab cakes are the best around. Amazing food.
The two steaks are both medium, they look different because one is thinner. This is how my fiance and I were told when we both ordered our steaks for medium, however the filet mignon was pink (perfectly medium) but the ribeye was completely well done. We asked for a remake of the ribeye, and it came back completely blue (pic attached!), the poor beef was still mooing on the plate. Besides of that, the French Onion Soup was bitter cause it was very burned. Both my fiance and I had tummy upset after dining at this place.
Food is out standing. And nice wine list!
Fantastic service and food...
I used to have 5 star on this place, but I think the previous owner retired and the quality of food went down by like half. Also some menu items disappeared. I used to love this place but not going back there again. It was a restaurant too good to be true at that price range, but not its around average.
Great for birthday celebrations.
Came to Lynn s Bistro for dinner, and my partner and I ordered from the three course menu to try multiple dishes. However I feel that the food is very average for the price - the spinach salad was pretty good, but the corn soup tasted very watery and bland. For the next course I had the ribeye, and while the peppercorn sauce was good I felt like the steak itself had almost no flavor. I had to keep adding salt to every bite. For dessert the bread pudding was very mushy and not sweet, while the Creme brûlée was runny and tasted more like eating whipped cream than a custard. It just seemed like every dish I got was very underwhelming, and I ve had better versions of them elsewhere. Maybe this place just does not fit our taste, but for the lack of flavor and quality, it just doesn t seem worth it.
We had a fabulous meal. Fantastic service. Love Lynns Bistro!
Lynn s Bistro is a Kirkland hidden gem! Fantastic French cuisine, best fresh bread, very delicious crab cakes and the best Ceasar salad! Wine selection is very decent and affordable and the place feels like home. We loved it and will be back soon!!! Our favorite spot so far.
We tried this place last night based on the reviews and they were so right on. We had the crab cakes and the catch of the day which was halibut. Let me tell you...the crab cakes were AMAZING! The best crab cakes ever. For anyone who has said another restaurant has the best crab cakes has never tried them at Lynns Bistro. The halibut was also delicious, cooked perfectly, flakey and tender. I started off with the butternut squash and carrot soup which was delicious. We decided to go for the $48 prefixed dinner. We had generous portions which included bread, a starter, main course and dessert. The portions were generous and the entrees included a healthy portion of seasonal vegetables. We were stuffed and I couldnt even finish all my food. I highly recommend this place. Oh and the staff was very friendly with outstanding service.
They offer a couple of prix fixe dinner which I think are reasonable considering the prices, quality, and portion size. My fave is their rack lamb, its cooked perfectly and goes well with the sauce. They also have a good wine selection. Service is also commendable, staff are friendly. It has a vibe that makes you get lost track of time while having dinner because youre enjoying it and your conversations with people youre with.
Soup of the day and chicken liver was good. Ribeye was a bit dry and the meat quality was pretty average. Creme brulee was runny. Felt a bit overpriced.
Really enjoyed my first time at Lynn s. I had dinner with my team and I have to say the food was so amazing. Lynn s has a really great 3 course prex fixe menu with two price points. Our table started with the tiger prawns and shrimp ravioli. Can t recommend these two enough. The sauces on both dishes were delicious! We also had out of the shell escargot which was garlicky goodness. For my meal, I had the French onion soup and the rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce. Great flavors. My husband the Cesar salad and crab cakes. I had a few bites and can t recommend the crab cakes enough! Service was amazing and a really great full bar. I really enjoyed the cab sauv they had. Can t wait to come to Lynn s again.
I havent updated in a couple years, so though Id give it another go. Ive had several take out meals during the Covid shutdown, and a couple of dine -ins, both her original location, and the new location thats just next door. I dont think Ive mentioned the bread before. She must pop them in the oven whenever someone walks in the door, because it tasted freshly baked. It barely needs any butter. Dont eat it all and spoil your appetite. Also, you may want to save some to deal with the leftover lobster sauce if you get the ravioli. Once again the shrimp ravioli with lobster sauce was top notch. I was going to order something else, but just could not pass on this delightful dish. Its pretty rich, so we ordered one as an appetizer and shared. My ribeye steak with brandy peppercorn sauce was great. Ribeye can be very fatty, but this was well trimmed and reasonably lean. My partner had the fish of the day, which was halibut in a garlic sauce and olive tamponade. Its amazing how Lynn can cook fish thats both flaky and moist at the same time. Great stuff. Go and enjoy...
Unbelievable service and the food was emaculate! Highly recommend!
A little oasis of real food in over hipsters area.
What makes this Bistro great is the heart that goes into making the food. Great food that we paired with our favorite wine!
Cool place, the French toast for brunch was delicious
Decent but felt like the food was a little overpriced for its quality. Parking is not the most convenient.
Lynn has a recipe to make you happy. Wonderful food, charming atmosphere
A friend of mine and I had a 3-course meal here during the weekend: onion soup, shrimp ravioli, filet mignon, crab cakes, chocolate mousse and chocolate mousse cake. The good: 1. Every single dish was amazing. Tasty, eye-pleasing and they didnt go cheap on the crabs, shrimp, or the steak. There was plenty of great food to eat. 2. The ambience is what Im looking for in restaurants: quiet, no bright lights but not dark as well, table cloths and they use the right cutlery for the meals/drinks. The last one might seem minor, but it baffles me how many local cafés/restaurants cannot get it right. A perfect spot for a date. 3. Very polite and attentive service. 4. Considering the quality and amount of food, the quality to price ratio is off the charts. The bad: Nothing comes to mind.
I think Ive died and gone to heaven. Dungeness crab cakes, chicken picatta, smoked salmon salad and creme brulee. Everything was SO FREAKIN GOOD!!! The presentation was on point (even with takeout)! The flavors were multifaceted; and unbeknownst to me the mains also came with some perfectly seasoned and grilled veggies and scalloped potatoes (which were delicious) to make it a full meal. They even included complimentary dinner rolls (which I was not expecting, but suuuper excited to get). Additionally, I am a creme brulee junkie and this is the best creme brulee Ive EVER had. Now I cant wait to try everything else!
Im sure its good I was just the delivery guy lol
Excellent food
My husband and I love this place. The food is superb, the atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, and the service is that perfect balance of prompt without being pushy. Lynns French onion soup and scalloped potatoes do, indeed, deserve high praise. Every entree we have tried thus far has been cooked to perfection and full of flavor. Come to Lynns if you want a real dinner with plenty of time to visit over the wine.
The French onion soup is wonderful! I also got the spinach crepe and it was so delicious. Lynn does a marvelous job and you can tell she makes this food with love. I cant wait to go back!
Excellent, excellent, excellent. Fantastic comfort food and atmosphere. Personal service with a warm Bistro environment. They have maintained a high level of quality in a challenging time.
I loved it, I recommend it, good service and good food.
Nice quiet restaurant for a romantic date. Food was delicious! Sadly I didn t have any room for dessert but the shrimp fettuccine was to die for!!! The french onion soup was not exactly my cup of tea as if had an odd texture but otherwise I highly recommend.
Fantastic home cooked food. Small restaurant. Food is consistently good especially the fish.
Have enjoyed meals at Lynns Bistro for years. Exceptional food and service!
Delicious food and great service.
Lynns is a hidden gem. She (there is a Lynn) serves French influenced American cuisine. Every entre I have tried is great. But I might suggest trying the crab and prawn appetizer and one of the great salads for dinner. That is what we did tonight. Wines are good and modestly priced. Desert, when I lack discipline, is always the bread pudding. So good it should not be legal.
Good French spot but missing having a Croque Madame on the brunch menu. Seems like a good hole to fill. Everything else was great though!
Very knowledgeable about what is and is not in there food. I was able to eat wonderfully despite multiple food allergies.
Shrimp ravioli is delicious
Yummy food...quiet atmosphere...great service.
Went there for restaurant week and found it to be a bit pricey but good.
Best place to eat ever. Everything here was perfect.
If there were extra stars to rate this restaurant, I would use them. We had the fixed price selection and every course was fantastic! The feeling we had was that the the chef s attitude must be, no one will be disappointed! The service was wonderful, and the ambiance was a real pleasure. Thank you, we ll be back.
The food is nice and served well
Rabbit was kinda chewy. Creme brulee - too fat (it can be applied) Over all I felt too heavy after dinner. Colleagues got filet mignon and it sounded like tasteless. Sorry, nothing impressive.
My favorite Restaurant in Seattle area. An amazing french bistro.
Delightful staff and service- water glass never got to less than half! Food was best French cuisine Ive had in awhile. I especially loved the pate. My 4 year old son loved the escargots and salmon. Rack of lamb tender as the filet mignon. Creme brulee and chocolate mousse were also winners. Since the chef/owner gifted is this meal, we cant speak to the price... But we probably cant eat here to often (certainly not 3 courses!) though my 4 year old would come everyday.
French food by an Asian lady name Lynn. My favorite is the warm scones with brunch menu and the ravioli at dinner menu
Nice small place to relax and have a dinner. Onion soup is awesome. We selected a course menu and liked it. Parking might be a problem in the evening so look for the parking on opposite side of a road. It has plenty of spots.
Lynn is a great chef! Always delicious here.
This place was amazing! I was in awe watching Lynn work on what must have been 30-40 different dishes at a time. The fixed price menu is well worth it, so we each got an appetizer (escargot and shrimp ravioli), an entree (duck breast and filet mignon), and dessert (cherry bread pudding and chocolate mousse). I also added the foie gras which was nothing short of heavenly. The ravioli was especially Asian-inspired with its wonton skin--which was a delicious, pleasant surprise. We were the last table of the night and both servers were friendly and helped each other out for super seamless service.
This restaurant is a gem. Very comfortable setting. We had the prefix menu (multiple courses) and every course was delicious and cooked perfectly. Servors were very attentive. This restaurant is top notch!
Love this place, brunch is the best!!
Friendly waiter and waitresses. Food is fresh and well prepared
A well-run, cozy restaurant with fresh dishes and great 3 course meals (with package deals of $38 or $48). Bread is provided with butter or balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Each course is well presented and a reasonable portion if you consider the other 2 courses.
Personal service in intimate setting. Food is phenomenal!
Server forgot the drink we ordered and we waited long to order... Food is just okay.
Good cuisine. Good price. Not very fancy but a perfect night with friends.
The care in making the different dishes on the menu, completely shows in the amazing flavors. Excellent staff and a great experience.
Service is bad, it s like they have short staff . Food you have to wait long time to come out. For the price you pay I rather go to bigger chain restaurant.
Love the bakery basket
Fresh, is the best way to describe the food.
Front door was locked even though people were dining. We had to knock to get in. They forgot to bring our salads. Crepes were good.
Really enjoyed the dinner food and dessert but not so much the lunch fares when we went back the second time.
Excellent food and service
Don t let the strip mall location and outdated look deter you. If you re looking for delicious French cuisine at a decent price, this is the place to go! The restaurant is small and can often have a wait during peak time. The small staff is friendly and polite. The menu is small, and it s all absolutely delicious, even down to something as simple as the plateful of fresh toasted, buttery Crostini you get with the pâté. Everything was done with excellence and care. We left full and happy without completely breaking the bank.
Lynn and her staff do a wonderful job! Great menu
Great dinner, very fresh salads, rich flavorful entrees. Great place for an early dinner.
What a great Gem of a restaurant! Great find for a small, classy looking restaurant with amazing food & service. I was looking for a place to take client & was limited to restaurants & this one said French bistro so I wasnt sure if that would appeal to my client but felt that was an option because they quickly took my reservations. Ordered crab cakes for an appetizer (they normally have it as a full meal but accommodated our request) they were delicious and perfectly made. I ordered a chicken and mushroom crepe, excellent flavors. My client said he had been wanting to try it and would take his wife. Now Im craving it but Im in California so will have to wait till my next trip.
Very cozy place - great for date night
Wonderful!
What a great surprise to find this place in Kirkland. Great menu choices all prepared well in the tiny open kitchen right behind the small and cozy dining room. Really good selection of wines and some beer. Generous portions may prevent you from being able to eat the scrumptious dessert. Not to worry, she is ready to send it home with you....
Nice small romantic place for some great food
Great cooking. Awesome place. Little pricey, but worth it.
Always the best, for many years. Lynn is a treasure. Crab omelet, yum!
It was all delicious. Great little place for a date night. Not a lot of seating but very cozy.
Warm setting for high-quality, authentic French cuisine. Escargot, pâté, lamb shank, crême brulée... all were perfect. Service and staff are prompt and courteous. Enjoy!
Interesting food, most dishes were tasty. Check out the pictures to get an idea. The place is a bit cramped. The service was good. The food is better than the ambiance. The prices are bit higher than the food
Good food; a bit noisy.
I went there for brunch. The place is small but good is not bad, especially the bread basket. They were so fresh that I feel they re just out of oven. I ordered french onion soup. It tasted not bad but I think the onion could be crystallized more. It s a little bit pricy for the dining environment.
Delicious food, great service, pleasant environment.
The best French Onion soup in Seattle, fantastic ham and spinach crepe.
Amazing food and incredible staff!! We will be dining here again!!
Excellent food. Love the dessert crepes.
Good and pricey place, friendly staff. Reservation for dinner is needed.
Went here on a surprise Tuesday night date with my husband. The fixed price menu was full of options, and each one looked better than the last. I opted for shrimp stuffed ravioli in a cream sauce (a meal in itself), and filet mignon in a peppercorn reduction. In both cases, the sauce makes the dish and these did not disappoint. Dessert was creme brulee with just enough vanilla and richness, topped with the most delicate caramelized crust. Definitely give it a try. Make reservations, though, as seating is minimal.
She is the best chef on the Eastside.. enjoy throwback interior.
Everything was excellent about this place, from the bread to the wonderful French Onion soup; the only issue I had was my filet mignon. It did not seem like it was a true prime cut of meat, which at the price paid I would expect the best cut possible, but what I was served was a bit below expectation otherwise the place would be 5 stars.
Weve only been twice but the food is amazing. The filet mignon melted in your mouth with a wonderful flavor, the shrimp ravioli to start left you wanting to lick the plate. It was my birthday and if I closed my eyes and ate it could have been a Parisian café somewhere in Paris!
I had brunch here and the food was very good. Amazing pastrys!!
Amazing food. $$$
Excellent and delicious, every thing au point, impeccable but not overly formal, lovely!
Very nice French bistro
This is a gem in the heart of Kirkland. Lynns cook up some amazing French cuisine at an affordable price. Highly recommended
Owner/chef cooks every night herself. Possibly #1 in downtown Kirkland. Come here often and consistently good
I had the Spinach Crêpe. Good food and excellent service.
Lovely. Great atmosphere. Nice and quiet. Good food. Not sure what the Asian part of asian-inspired French cuisine is, but it was delicious anyway.
Great French cuisine at a modest price and casual atmosphere. Works for dates, casual dining, and team dinners.
The escargot was great and lots of bread to soak up the seasoned butter sauce!
Great salads and brussel sprouts! :D
My girlfriend and I decided to go to this restaurant after reading the positive reviews. However, we were very disappointed with the food. The French onion soup was the best dish but still very average. The chicken liver pate appetizer was completely tasteless. The ribeeye and the duck were overcooked and the potato side was over-peppered. I dont recommend it
Excellent food. Love the scalloped potatoes.
The restaurant was only half full and it took an hour for our party of four to have our meal. Two other tables were seated after us and received their food before us. Food was not brought out at the same time, and the last item to be brought out- french toast- was undercooked and had to be sent back. It took only 5 minutes to get a new plate of french toast, so why the hour long delay? Two of our party ordered omelettes and were satisfied with them, I ordered smoked salmon benedict and it was incredibly salty. The waitress seemed fairly apathetic, not really interacting with us much or even making us feel welcome when we walked in the door. There were small bugs flying around our table for part of the meal. It was quite expensive for such low quality service. The pastries brought out before the meal and most of the food was very flavorful. There was a good atmosphere in the restaurant.
Slow service, but delicious food.
