Home of the famous grinder! I returned to the Acropolis after an absence of some years. The food is still amazing and the service is wonderful. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free ravioli!

Tried Acropolis for the first time today. I got the cold cuts grinder, and it was an amazing sandwich. Stopped in on my lunch hour and it was definitely worth it.

I wanted to like this place so badly! Walking in, it looked like the type of family pizza shop from back east I LOVE, and I ve been searching for a chicken parm sub. I was stoked to see it on the menu, and grabbed that and their pastrami sandwich. Let s start with the positives: The pastrami sandwich was delicious. Perfectly crusty yet soft bread, nice mustard dollops, overall very tasty and I d gladly eat it again. Onto the negative The chicken parm sub. Good golly. If we ate in, I would ve sent it back. It s little more than a soggy chicken tender Sysco frozen foods-esque chicken mush patty. And it was sweet??? Why??? The best part of the sandwich, and the only consumed after the initial bite, was the part where the cheese crusted onto the bread. Honestly abysmal. Please, take it off the menu, lest you mislead people into thinking that s what a chicken parm sub tastes like.

Been getting the grinder s since the mid seventies. Had half that night then the other half for lunch the next day. Got my regular grinder recently, it was about a third smaller than they used to be. Still the best in the area. Shrink- flation is everywhere.

Its been a number of years since I last visited, but the atmosphere, customer service and food has not changed. Food comes to you piping hot and tastes delicious. You have a great menu choice from salads, pizzas, pasta dishes and the unbeatable grinders . Well worth a visit

I ve been going here for over 20 years for a pepperoni grinder whenever I m in the area. It looks like I always remember it, which is one area they could improve. Good and service are always great!

My Pastrami Grinder was excellent, meat full of flavor and tender, fresh roll too. Our server was friendly, helpful, and considerate. It was a little louder than I like, but overall very nice.

Love this place. The service is always friendly and a true family generational establishment. The baked spaghetti with meatballs is unbelievable. To be honest i almost hate raving about this place as i dont want them any busier than they are, but when a business deserves it, need to acknowledge the great job they have done building and keeping this business in play amongst all the chain restaurants and new fangled cookie cutter places now. Parking: Parking can be tough at times but there is parking on streets nearby

Ordered a pizza that came burned, pictures attached. The cheese was a dark brown and the spinach black. Greek salad (full size) has 5 olives on it

Small, family-owned restaurant with great asmosphere. Food was delicious and delivered quickly. The service was excellent and our waitress was very friendly and attentive.

We went for dinner with friends. I liked the ambience and that it is family owned. Our waitress was great too. We ordered a gyro sandwich, a cold-cut sandwich, the acropolis pizza and cannelloni which comes with salad. Were happy with the food, note that its very cheesy!

There s not a restaurant in town with better food, service, or people. Such a family feeling establishment.

Nice hearty delicious pizza. You know some times you just need some thick crust super cheesy pizza that fills you up and this is exactly it. Definitely not an everyday thing but as a hearty, heavy, guilty pleasure kind of a meal its just perfect!!!

The pizza is great!

Pizza in Kirkland often requires taking out a second mortgage. When a simple gluten-free pizza cost $30 you just kind of give up head for the Frozen stuff. But then theres Acropolis. The sauce is excellent. Its not overly bready. And its actually affordable. Well go back Im sure. Again. And again.

Charming, cozy spot. The nicest service and can t go wrong with any of the food. Pepperoni pizza is the best anywhere, and don t skip the avgolemono soup. So good, I dream about it.

I have been going to Acropolis for over twenty years. The service is phenomenal (friendliest restaurant I have ever been to), and you never have to worry about the quality of food, as it is always consistent and delicious. I have had several items from the menu and have never been unsatisfied. Prices are fantastic, especially for the portion size. I can not recommend this place enough! Vegetarian options: Wide variety of options. Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating to customers needs and requests. Parking: Great size parking lot. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: There are several tables that are wheelchair accessible.

This is probably the best place to eat in Kirkland. The grinders are my go to. I got my daughter hooked on them too. They are amazing and everybody that works There is also amazing.

The pastrami grinder is my favorite! The sandwiches are huge and I usually only eat half in a sitting. They are still really yummy the next day too! Bread doesnt get soggy or hard after being heated up. The pizzas are really yummy as well!

Great place for lunch.

Ive been coming here for years just for the Canadian Bacon Grinder, it is life changing. After college I moved away and actually missed it. Moved back for a year and this was my first stop! I tried to replicate it while away with no luck. Im so happy they are steadfastly remaining while Kirkland grows up around them. Historically part of old Kirkland like the cannery, this place is the gem of all gems.

Back in 1974 I was a cook at this restaurant. I still come back weekly to get my favourite roast beef grinder or pizza with Canadian bacon, pepperoni, black olives, and mushrooms!

Nothing here is exceptional. Everything is pretty average. Comfy seating and pretty friendly service. We tried: -Veg pizza -Greek salad -Minestrone soup -Lasagna with marinara sauce -Baklava and spumoni ice cream Dont recommend any of the above. The bread served with the mains was pretty good though.

Mom and Pop greatness!... I love places like this. Small, locally owned, been there for years. Lots of good pizza, grinder, pasta and salad options. Greek, yes, but also on the Italian side.... I had the 1/2 chicken parm grinder with salad. Service was really great and friendly. Theres no pretense about the place. They have great food, great service and great prices. Highly recommended.

Kirkland has its own Acropolis? Well, not a copy of the one in Greece, but nearly as old. Just kidding, but it seems that way; its been here since the 1970s, always family-run. That family is a big reason for the long-term success and customer loyalty. Eating here does feel like youre visiting your family (not like that unmentionable garden place). The service is very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Need a recommendation or have a question? No problem. The food: despite the Acropolis name, its mostly Italian food, with the only Greek items on the menu being an assorted appetizer plate, a Greek salad, gyros and a Greek-style pizza. I wish they served moussaka. That said, while not gourmet Italian regional cuisine, its delicious, home-style Italian-American fare, with cheese, cheese, and more cheese. My partner had a chicken gyro, which was perfectly prepared and tasty. I had the baked cannelloni, which was hot as molten lava and drowned in tomato/cheese sauce. After it cooled down, it was a very generous, tasty dish that I enjoyed to the last bite. This place is famous for their grinders, or submarine sandwiches. Nearly every other review is about the grinders. Perhaps next time, Ill come for lunch and try one. We will definitely be back.

Grinders are otherworldly.

Pizza was not really good the texture was terrible vegetables were soggy to much feta cheese and was too salty. The grinder was over cooked and meat dried out. The overall restaurant was outdated and dirty looking. Good location and easy parking. Service was great despite the poor quality of food.

Found a grinder in WA! This is great pizza palace style food that I grew up with!

I walked in to order takeout - a grinder and a Caesar salad. My order was completed quickly and the food was delicious. They make the best grinders!! If youre looking for great food at reasonable prices this is the place. Locally owned and operated. Its a gem in the downtown Kirkland area. No pretentiousness. Not trendy and hip. Just a nice comfortable restaurant with really good food prepared and served by really good people.

Best grinders!

Grinders are sub par now. They are not made with love now ;(. Almost served cold to me in my last visit. Almost more worried about speed now rather then quality. I generally order my sandwiches for to go.

Thought it was a Greek restaurant, but mostly Italian. Got a grinder and it was delicious. Heads up, it s enough to feed two. Unless you have an insatiable appetite.

TL:DR - Pretty solid, a little lacking, right price, worth a trip. Acropolis is fairly good but lacks a couple things to make it a full five stars. No fries, which, surprisingly seems to matter when looking at the sides and you arent desiring a very good traditional Greek side. No booze, which means that meals needing a pairing of wine are met with soda. Slightly less seasoning that is desired on some items. I found myself distinctly wanting more oregano which was weird. More olives necessary in general but the food is all in all good. A definite stop for a grinder. Vegetarian options: They exist. Parking: Cramped at best. Wheelchair accessibility: Technically exists but seems challenging with the parking and internal space.

This is a great family restaurant with pizza, pasta, grinder sandwiches and more! This place has been owned by various members of the same family since opening. Ive been bringing my family here since 1974. We have celebrated many birthdays, and ball games. The staff and ownership are wonderful and accommodating for larger groups. To top it it off, great flavors!
