12514 120th Ave NE, Kirkland, WA 98034, United States
Casual, family-friendly eatery featuring vintage motorcycles on display & a menu of Italian staples.
It is a Italian place. The Christmas decorations were cute and we ordered chicken pizza and BBQ pasta. Chicken pizza was loaded with veggies and cheese which we loved. The pasta could have been better. The BBQ sauce was very sweet for out taste. Would have loved more spicy one. Price is good.
Food was superb! Loved it! Tiramisu was heavenly! One of the very few places that offers a wide variety of tasty vegetarian options too. We were a big group that got together to celebrate my husband's birthday here. In spite of having a reservation, we had to wait quite a bit before getting our table. I'd spoken to their manager in advance to reserve and discuss plans and they were very impressive with their offerings etc. However, on the day of the birthday party, the service was slightly lacking only because what was expected was not delivered. But we still had a great time here with family style dining. It's not a super expensive place too. Great vibe as well. Would definitely go back here and recommend to friends and family.
TL:DR | 7/10 - A decent place where the prices are kinda weird and it's a skosh out of touch. Worth a trip but it feels like it isn't worth two if you don't have a doctor's salary or aren't within walking distance. Without a proper bar the abysmal lighting is awkward. Overall it hasn't been the worst but like most of totem lake it can be passed up.
We had a large group and held a meeting. Outstanding job to serve all 32 of us in a timely manner. Food was perfect. One member said his pizza was the best he ever had. Everyone was pleased. The wait staff were all friendly, helpful and not stressed handling so many people. We have a great experience every time we are there!
After some research I went to this place for some italian dishes. Yes the place was clean. Yes the service was okay. Yes they have a parking lot. And yes they have a menu where names of italian dishes are written. But the food... it's everything but italian. Pasta floats in some white sauce with a lot of creepy cheese on top and pieces of meat. Shell pasta is the same. They added to their menu black bean soup.. never heard that to be an italian dish. And the minestrone is just some boring vegetable soup. I'm quite sure people that wrote here have no idea what italian cuisine realy is, but this place is just a lot of cheese melted in everything that calls itself italian. But it's just garbage unfortunately.
This place was very good for the money. My daughter could eat Italian food every day. She loved her meal. My pizza was very good.
I had dinner over here and it was amazing. Really good experience and food taste was also good except chicken swampi, it was okayishh other than this chicken pizza , lamb lasgna were great. Tiramasu gave us that last dessert satisifaction.
We went here to celebrate a teenager birthday. The decor was awesome! The staff was incredibly professional and helpful. This may be the best staffed restaurant in the entire Seattle area which (hopefully) tells me that they treat their employees pretty well. I counted twelve staff in front of house. It was crazy. Food was great! Loved the Italian sodas. I loved how easy it was to park too.
I had got the pasta with red sauce and it was terrible!! Too much noodles and not enough sauce. The sauce also had no seasoning and flavor to it. It s all around a terrible choice for pasta!
Post Wedding Party! We had our wedding celebration at Cafe Veloce last week and it was absolutely spectacular! Kenna and Selena provided service that was nothing short of magical - they anticipated every need and treated our guests like royalty. Special shoutout to Carole, the manager, who worked with us beforehand to create a custom menu that perfectly fit our vision. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was perfect, and the hospitality was impeccable. If youre planning an event, this is your place. They dont just meet expectations - they soar past them!
Delicious food, enchanting decor, great service for all ages
Visited Cafe Veloce for the first time yesterday and WILL BE BACK. We came with a small group for lunch yesterday and it was wonderful. Fun space, Gluten Free pasta options and exceptional service! Such a great experience!!
Food was delightful and service great! Vegetarian options: Have delicious vegie options and gluten free selections. Food : 5/5 |
I just want to thank them to be at 100% speed during this crazy storm as soon as power came back to them. Wow!!! That was incredible and thank you for serving us without electricity. Thank you! Also they have good food.
Their food Italian and delicious!!
We ordered the olive cheese bread, meatballs with spaghetti, Margarita pizza and chicken Parmesan. Excellent taste, service would highly recommend this restaurant!!! Very satisfied with the experience:)))
Bad pasta. Too much pasta and too little other ingredients. Couldn t finish the pasta
Always a great date night experience.
I came for lunch and the food was good. I had a pesto sandwich with tomatoes. The decor is great. I love the vintage motorcycles being a biker myself.
One of my favorites. Hasnt changed much and I am glad Parking: Can park across the street in trader Joes lot Food : 5/5 |
This hits all the marks for a great place to spend your hard earned money! Fantastic food and the service was pleasurable and fun. Im currently sitting at home enjoying my leftovers for lunch. Delicious! Well be back. This place has both your regular standards for Italian fare, plus a lot of dishes Ive never heard of so were looking forward to coming back. Paper Plane cocktail was perfect.
Nice ambiance and their pizzas are best in the town. We tried Pasta too, it was the best again!!!
Great food and friendly staff.
Good food, excellent service, nice atmosphere. We had a club meeting there, and it was a perfect place to be. I dont enjoy babies crying, as was the situation in another part of the restaurant, but, thats life. Definitely will go back Wheelchair accessibility: Ample room for a wheelchair.
The clam pasta is super good.
Always good food, motorcycle themed (Italian bikes, of course). Reasonably priced. Update 2024: still the great eatery is been for years. Always love coming to dinner here.
Always reliably good food
It was my 1st time at the restaurant. The food was delicious and so was the wine. Their service is pretty amazing and the outdoor seating is perfect on a cozy sunny day. We ordered the pesto bread (not sure the right name), Fettuccine Alfredo and pesto pasta. They were delicious.
We had a large group for a rehearsal dinner. The service was outstanding, and the food was absolutely delicious!
Great food, great staff!
Really good vibe and authentic Italian food. They are usually busy but the food is worth the wait, their pizza pasta and soup are all great. Only feedback would be to have a bit better service usually its a while after sitting down here to get any sort of service. They also have a lunch special which is pretty good. Can get quite busy on the weekends and evenings.. Recent visit the food and service was not as good as usual, the pasta specially was quite underwhelming the pizza and the soup were good
I recently moved to the area and I ve been here twice already. The bruschetta is amazing. They have great portion sizes for the kids. I ve done takeout both times so I m not quite sure about the service but they were really quick when I came to pick up my order. I can already tell this is going to be a family favorite. Food
I am sorry to say we had a disappointing experience at Cafe Veloce. I was looking forward to visiting for our first time, knowing how highly it is recommended by others. The food was okay, but the service was awful. Not only was it painfully slow, but our server was inattentive at best and rude at worst. It took us 1h20m to dine and we only ordered two non-alcoholic drinks, a half-sized salad, and two entrees. (The restaurant was only half full and there was ample staff, so it didnt seem like a staffing issue.) After waiting 15+ minutes for our check, we ended up having to walk up to a server to ask for it, at which point we were given an attitude and dismissive mm-hmms and yeps when we said thank you when they finally *did* bring it to our table. Dining out is increasingly expensive, and while their prices arent terrible, we wont be giving this place a second try.
We visited Café Veloce over Labor Day weekend and ordered an appetizer, a Margherita pizza, and spaghetti with meatballs. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre. My pizza strangely lacked tomato sauce and was overloaded with cheese. The meatball was passable but lacked flavor. This might have been tolerable if the service hadn t been so dreadful. Our waitress was more interested in chatting with her coworkers than attending to us, barely checking in all evening. After we finished our meal, we waited nearly 20 minutes for her to come to our table. Despite several attempts to get her attention, nothing worked. In the end, I had to walk over to her to request the check so we could leave. The restaurant wasnt busy, so there s really no excuse for such poor service.
Cozy place with great food and service. The lasagna is fantastic! Will definitely return.
Great experience.
This place has been a local gem for over 30 years! Serving up fantastic American-Italian fare with a unique Cafe Racer theme, Cafe Veloce had been my favorite Italian food for the past 16 years. I recommend the scampi, the pesto pasta, and the scallops buerre Blanc! (We get the scallops everytime). The staff here is prompt and knowledgeable, offering pairing suggestions and accommodating to my dietary requests. Thanks Cafe Veloce!
Great little Italian restaurant. Awesome atmosphere and great food. Highly recommend.
very tasty. not much to say. Not the best thing Ive ever eaten in my life, but a step up from most in the area. Prices are pretty fine and servers are nice. Would recommend
If youre looking for a place that delivers on every front ambiance, service, and most importantly, food Cafe Veloce is it. I can t recommend this restaurant enough and can t wait to return! The server was attentive, genuine, and knowledgable. Full bar and extensive wine list! You cant go wrong with the either of the scampis and the Shrimp & Shroom salad is amazing. Scallops Beurre Blanc are sure to impress!
I ordered take out for my whole family first time. We had chicken scampi, beef gorgonzola, beef bolognese pasta, and margherita pizza. The gorgonzola was rich in flavor. The pizza had just the right amount of crisp. Everyone was happy with their orders.
This is one of my go-to spots whenever I want nice Italian food with great wine beer. The ambiance is amazing
Great food 40 yes in business Parking: Have their own lot with reserved spaces for the restaurant Food : 5/5 |
Try the Veloce House Special Pizza. Order with thin crust no lip, sauce to the edge, well cooked. Add pepper flakes and grated parmesan when served. Salads are also good.
I thought this was a coffee shop. My bad. Known the location since 1992. Finally found myself here. Excellent menu, excellent execution of the stuffed pork. Great wine list, curated, short and good!!
Delicious
Large menu of pasta and pizza featuring all of the classics plus many other great dishes. Quality of the pasta isnt stellar but still pretty decent. Pretty large wine selection and cocktails. As far as the atmosphere goes, I feel like it is more of a place you would go with family than on a date. It is nice to come here during the colder months when the fireplace is going. The service always seems to be hit or miss, often depending on the server or staffing.
Been going there since 1997. Great food! Typically order the Criolo or BBQ Italiano or Pesto with chicken added. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pasta option.
Excellent food. Great service love this place
Delicious food and nice server. There was no AC in the area we were so it was very hot and uncomfortable. When the door to the patio opened there was a welcome cool breeze and it was one of the 90 degree days! Food
Amazing place! So cozy, friendly, delicious!
If you like gluten this is the place for you. If you dont limited amazing options.
I am Italian and not easily impressed! Cafe Veloce on my opinion is the best in all areas. We recommend them with confidence you will be pleased. Also, they have another location called Pizza Bank that is also excellent.
Great food, great vibes! The service is beyond awesome. Whitney was such a joy!!
Mediocre food, good service
This place is nice I like the pasta was legit I ve been going around trying to get my pasta fix and I have been searching high and low I think I find my new spot what more do I have to say .
Stopped in for a quick bite, had an excellent pizza. Service was awesome. Decided to go again a couple days later and tried the shrimp scampi, fantastic. I will be coming back every time I stop in Kirkland.
Great food, ton of vegetarian options, really good wine selection and good ambience. Kids had fun too with the menu. Staff was very courteous.
First experience. Went in with boss and co-workers. Food was amazing! Food : 5/5
Visited this place for restaurants week! Enjoyed my meal and especially lasagna was really good! I will definitely come back for their regular menu meal to see if they are worthy
My one of most fav places! Excellent vibes and food! I love it each time
Every helpful with their suggestions.
Would have happily paid twice as much for the beef gorgonzola pasta.
Good choices, lots of different items.
I can tell you the food I had was really good. I had Criolo pasta and it was delicious! The staff was very helpful and was always coming by our table checking on us! They were outstanding! The price for the food is very fair! I appreciated that they priced their food accordingly. The Italian motorcycles were an interesting touch.
I have seen this restaurant forever, but finally went today. I was missing out! They have a great menu with many things I wanted to try, I chose Beef Gorgonzola and it was delicious!
Looking for a place half way between Renton and Everest, Totem Lake seem reasonable and it was well worth the trip. Meatball panini was excellent. Caesar salad, spaghetti, lasagna and chop salad were all very good too. Definitely a place to go back to.
Delicious food with an authentic Italian touch. The ambience is fantastic too, with a lot of effort put into the interiors and wall art. Lots of variety on the menu with both pizza and pasta options. Highly recommend. Vegetarian options: Reasonable amount of vegetarian options available in Pasta and Pizza.
So good!!
Great dinner spot for the family
Italian food, good pasta and pizza
A family favorite for a very long time! We love pasta in our house, and Veloce never disappoints. Its a great location with lots of other businesses nearby, the decor is cute and quirky at the same time, and the staff is always amazing.
This is my goto place for Italian food in the Seattle area. I have been here multiple times and it has never gone wrong. Love the black bean soup, caprese, pesto olive bread for appetizers. They have a wide range of vegetarian pastas which you can also customize. The Mediterranean pasta is also great! Must try!
Yummy, filling food with attentive and friendly service. Kid friendly; have high chairs and booster seats available. Kid-friendliness: High chairs and booster seats available.
Im very particular about Italian food. The flavor and consistency of the marinara, the freshness of the bread, the amount of cheese, and the quality of the pasta are all important. Cafe Veloce does it just right for my taste. And they do it with a friendliness that is above and beyond what youll generally receive elsewhere.
Quaint, good food, nice place.
Truly some of the best Italian I ve ever had! Wonderful flavors fresh ingredients and lovely staff!
Excellent food, excellent service.
Martin was stellar to deal with. He went out of his way to ensure our large group was taken care of. Service is fantastic as always. We just think the world of this place. Vegetarian options: Will make any alternation needed, very accommodating.
The shrimp scampi were amazing!!
Fantastic decor and great food. Do try tiramisu, its amazing! Mediterranean pizza is ok but Lambretta chicken pizza was great.
Love the food here.
The Best Italian food Ive had!! We loved everything about it
Everything was wonderful. the food, the service, the atmosphere.... no wonder its one of our favorites.
3.5 - 4 stars. Pizza was ok
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian pizza and pasta options are awesome Parking: Depending on how busy the place is it would be easier to park at Totem Lake village and walk over. Food : 5/5 |
So amazing. Everyone was friendly. Service was quick. The scallops were cooked flawlessly. I had a lavender lemon drop, and it was delicious.
This is a cozy, friendly, comfortable place for lunch, with good lunch specials and the best scallops dish ever. Also a good wine list with lunchtime special deals.
Fantastic food, wonderful service. I have not yet had anything that wasnt absolutely delicious.
The Blackberry soda is great
It is a wonderful small cafe with great service, great food, and a unique, interesting interior.
Always awesome!
Cool reastraunt with excellent food and service! We will definately be back.
Love the setup, the old bikes. Love the vibe!! We live a few miles from the place and visit a few times a quarter on a walk. This place has only gotten better. Our kids love the gnocchi and complementary bread and garlic butter . Thanks for the great service, love you all!!
Kirin was super helpful and very knowledgeable and made my first wine drinking experience with my lady super enjoyable. The food was amazing, and the portions were perfect. The servers were super polite and on point. The atmosphere was great and just right for the night. Honestly, Im very impressed. Thank u for the wonderful experience. I hope to come back soon.
The pesto pasta here is unique, delicious, and full of flavor! I would definitely recommend trying it! The service was wonderful as well.
As good as eating in Italy
We love the pasta and garlic bread here. Fast and friendly service. Restaurant used chrox for cleaning so we could smell left over chlorine.
We have enjoyed going to Cafe Veloce for a number of years. This is one spot you count on for consistency, where change maybe isn t so good. The neighborhood surrounding this spot has changed dramatically- and it s great that Veloce is still the same place we got hooked on so many years ago. The old standbys are still on the menu. Service is still friendly. Portions still generous. Prices have gone up - but otherwise just like it s been. And we love it.
Amazing service, and great food. Our server was very attentive, and frequently checked in on us to make sure everything was well. While the food tasted great and is worth the cost, it was not what I would classify as amazing. Each dish was missing a detail or two, such as the noodles being a hair too overcooked, or the Bolognese being too tomato heavy. Likewise with the tiramisu, a little heavy on the chocolate drizzle. Overall a great experience, and a restaurant I would return to.
Perfectly cooked shrimp on my Caesar. Fun place with all the vintage motorcycles on display
The pasta was some of the best ever! We split a dish and salad and it was plenty, although we are small eaters. We might have been able to force dessert down, but we chose not to and went for a walk in the expansion of the Kirkland corridor trail and across the new bridge. We sat on the patio all alone at first, but it filled to capacity quickly. We went at about 5:30 on a Friday evening Kid-friendliness: There were many well-behaved kids both inside and outside on the patio.
Excellant everything
Pretty standard Italian fare but the bread and butter was awesome
Cool racing atmosphere with excellent food and very personable servers!
Excellent food. Very filling.
everything about this place is amazing, if youre only visiting for a short time and want to try the best restaurants you NEED to go here
The food was tasty, but both my friend and I felt terribly sick afterwards. I suspect sanitation issues. Waiter was very kind, though they did forget about our dessert. Recommend the clam pasta.
Best Italian place for vegetarians on the east side !!!
I ordered take out and i stated no feta cheese on my order and all it had was feta cheese, the person did not understand what i said and tried to blame me waste of my money. I thought i liked the place but if your people cant understand people with different accent they should be taught to communicate better. I had to spell out feta cheese for her. Vegetarian options: Many pastas are eggless few options
The best Italian food on the East Side! Generous portions and consistently great dishes. There s also a nice outdoor seating area when the weather permits, and it s conveniently located next to The Village at Totem Lake to walk off your guaranteed food coma afterward
Delicious. Finished everything on my plate.
Honestly... I expected better. The food was warm. Not hot. The chicken in the parm seemed like mass produced fried strips from Costco that they disguised with a massive amount of sauce. The flavor was good mostly, but not to the quality level I was expecting.
Great staff who were super kind and accommodating despite us showing up five minutes to close. He was very helpful in our decision, the atmosphere was very interesting, and the food was excellent. Totally recommend!
Their pasta is always so delicious, tans the tiramisu is even better! Happy hour wine is a great value. Highly recommend.
Absolutely incredible food and service. My mom and step dad come here often and love bringing other friends and family members. Im so glad I got to have my turn! I will definitely be coming back again the next time Im in town.
The servers were very nice. However, I had to send back multiple dishes that were dirty, and the food was surprisingly bland.
Delicious food!
Good service and food.
What a great place! Mikaelyn took care of us. She had great suggestions and was very attentive! We had the lemon cello spritzer, nice and refreshing! She brought us out their bread and an amazing compound butter!!! Enjoy the cards they are worth it. We had the Caprese Panini, and the meatball Panini and the pasta for lunch. (Sorry don t remember the name of the past.pasta.) We sat on the patio. Will definitely be back for dinner. The wine selection looked amazing.
I still recall my visit there ( 4 years back ). My grandchildren were 5&2 years old then. They were merrily colouring the pictures given to them by the Restaurant. The food was excellent, specially the Garlic Bread & the pizza ! The ambience, the food, the service, are ideal for kids as well as for adults! Cheers
Good, not great, but worth a try as they are consistent and the service is generally good. Skip the pizza and go for the pasta and a nice glass of wine...
This is a gem of an Italian place in totem lake Kirkland. Rarely do I think that meals are fairly priced, but this place is it. You get decent portions, amazing drinks, and delicious meals. I love their limoncello spritz and shrimp scampi. Cafe Veloce truly exudes the essence of the Italian spirit. Will be back again!
Food was ok. Some dishes like pizza was good. However we paid extra for GF and added chicken but didnt get it in there. Im gluten sensitive and couldnt eat more than two bites and no chicken is just disappointing. Double check your order if you pick it up. Worst part? It was written on the led!
I try to eat at Cafe veloce once every time I come to Seattle and everytime I eat there Im very satisfied., Food and staff are both great Im never disappointed... Very warm comfy home feel to the Cafe.
I highly recommend the fettuccine alfredo here. It comes with the perfect amount of spice and flavor which is usually missing in this dish. We also got the margherita pizza but it was too oily and didn t feel like a margherita. The cheesy garlic bread with the marinara is just the perfect accompaniment. The cocktails here are strong and have some great flavor. Overall, loved the service, atmosphere and the food.
The food, Pesto, I had was different from what I am used to, but it was not bad. I can come back for casual Italian foods. It feels more like American diner.
Delicious and good prices. The service is amazing, super friendly, and fast.
Great food and atmosphere. Have been going for years.
We had a long day at work (group of 9). Great food and ambience but our seating was not the best, although I reserved in advance for a business meeting. The waitress gave us a really hard time, spilled wine over one of my fellow, being argumentative after that, and then yelled at me for a bad tip (which I agree I made a mathematical error, I later fixed it). I hope the waitress is doing okay and I didn t cause anything to make her behave like that. I will probably avoid this place for some time I guess.
Excellent Italian eatery with a super cool Italian Motorcycle racing vibe. So happy we stopped here while traveling with our two kids.
Great food and fun atmosphere without being cheesy. We regularly do takeout but done in is fun too. I love the Benelli pizza!
We had the lambretta chicken pizza and the lamb lasagna. The food was ok, but not awesome. For instance I found that the chicken in the pizza was a bit dry and also the crust wasn t my favorite. The lasagna was better though I would have liked some more lamb in it. Service was OK no major complaints but it felt that they didn t pay attention to small things that could have enhanced our experience. As an example, the place was cold with the AC on and had to wear our jackets (most customers did), the waitress acknowledged but didn t try to mitigate.
An old school Italian family restaurant. The motorcycle racing decortheme is fantastic and I love looking at all the old photos of bikes and races. The main menu items are pasta with sauce. Pizza is decent too. The portions are big and so is the wine & cocktail list. Going here is a good choice for a family or group. Theres something for everyone.
Food was very mediocre... Id give it a 2.5 if I could. Pizza crust was fairly soggy. Service was solid and a cool vibe but wouldnt visit again on account if the food, unfortunately.
Cool atmosphere, I would have taken a picture but place was full. Very good food at reasonable prices
Nice enough, but very noisy.
This is one of our special occasion places. It was the first meal I had after my baby boy and our first date leaving baby boy with someone. They have so many good things. Wed get it more often, but they dont deliver. Or not to us.
Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian and vegan options Dietary restrictions: Great gluten free options. They have GF noodles. Also their food is made with no peanuts, and the only nuts at all are in the pesto.
I did not like the portion of shrimp scampi and pasta. The shrimp itself and everything else in the scampi is delitious but for pastas I love big portions and the portions are not big. The service is not very good. The pizza was delitious. Overall, for Italian pasta Olive Garden is much better than cafe veloce. I won t recommend this place
Unique decorating with some very fine motorcycles. Who wouldnt want to have a great plate of pasta while ogling over a classic Ducati. Wait staff were attentive while not hovering. We had eggplant, shredded beef with gorgonzola, a few cocktails, chocolate cake with Gamache frosting. Food & drink delish!! Ill be back for certain. Parking: Its a popular restaurant. There is parking available, it may not be near the front door. Easy enough to find space elsewhere.
Great atmosphere and excellent pastas. I recommend to get a table reserved before heading here, otherwise the wait times will be a bit crazy. Felt that the Mediterranean pizza could have been slightly better. Everything otherwise was good! Parking: The restaurant has free parking within the lot and even if it runs out of space, you have a huge free parking garage nearby.
All our dishes were EXTREMELY fatty to the point where we felt uneasy after eating here, the quality seems ok but you need to work on making the dishes less fatty, especially for the prices you charge. EDIT TO REPLY TO OWNER: Mind you *all* dishes were extremely fatty, some of them (the beef & gorgonzola) we expected to be but some of the others (such as the Criolo) we _dripping_ of oil, this mightve been a fluke but I never had italian food this fatty, not even at olive garden which I actively avoid.
Amazing amazing food and ambience. Real authentic Italian food. Highly recommend pasta.
Went to lunch with friends who had never eaten there. Everyone was thrilled with their meals and impressed with the ambience and service.
The food was delicious, so great! Wish they would serve more bread. It was packed out, had to wait 25 minutes to be seated but worth every minute!!
