Delicious food. Great prices. Service is nice but a little slow as it seems theres only one solid employee who does her best. Its a popular spot for locals and regulars. Very good!

We came for lunch on a weekday. The food was very good. However, the service was long even though there werent many people in the restaurant. There was a mistake on our order which meant we had to wait a little longer for our dishes.

Lovely little neighborhood gem with a solid menu and friendly waitstaff. Have been several times in the past few months and have not been disappointed!

disappointing, we have been to this restaurant several times and this is the first time we didnt like it. Overcooked chicken, gnocci cervits and scampi no scampi, spagettis instead of fettucini, frozen carbonara sauce with 3 pieces of pancetta, burnt bread served with margarine, dirty glass, average service, August 25, 2024 last time

These stars are very well deserved this restaurant is now one of my favourites the portions are excellent and the service is impeccable and atmosphere is excellent again food I had was Lobster Ravioli and it was a five star from me.

First time for breakfast..loved it.

The quality of the ice cream it was not different from other places. For 1 scoop of ice cream with tax 7$ + tax and on pay they ask tip on machine And the calculation tax in a total that means you pay tip on the tax as well.

Lunch: Disappointed with the outcome of my visit after reading the notes online. The waitresses who argue in the middle of the dining room, waiting 40 minutes before having water and a waitress who addresses us, only receiving 3 menus for 6 people. For the food, the fries are dry and the fruit not generous, but the eggs are good. The cleanliness of the glasses and cups was questionable, everything smells of eggs. The only smile we received was when it was time to pay...

So delicious!! I got the prosciutto pizza and it was so yummy.

I had the pleasure of meeting Maurizio yesterday in person. As a chef, pure professionalism. As a person, pure gentleman. After experiencing his spaghetti carbonara I have to say it deserves a solid 10/10! If you re looking for cuisine, look no further. #yougottaeathere #looknofurther

First time there. They have a great choice of breakfast, some choices that you will only see at an Italian restaurant. Its worth the detour.

We did not enjoy our experience at all. The receptionist is at the same time a waitress and the attention time is very long. She forgot our coffee, the portions were too small and coffee tasted awful. I do not recommend this place at all.

One waitress( one of the owners) made us wait at the door while she was putting paper table cloths on the table. She sat us down but put the person after us order through first. Food was good. We had cappuccinos. For an Italian Cafe restaurant we were extremely disappointed.

Terrible place , do not eat there. My daughter went for an interview and they told her to start right away because they had no one, woman did not even ask her name all she did was scream at her and would not even allow her to go to the bathroom and in the end did not even pay her. They abuse their staff that is why they have no help. People were complaining that the coffee was cold they had no sugar.

My bf and I recently came here for dinner and were blown away! Very friendly and attentive service, delicious and generous sized pasta dishes and yummy homemade cannoli! We also really enjoyed their fried calamari which was nice and crisp and not oily. Highly recommend the spaghetti carbonara, the flavour was spot on! We also finished our meal with some good espresso and cappuccino, both were nice and strong. I would definitely come back for the pasta and also to try their pizza!

It was a beautiful summer like day, and sitting on a terrace, having lunch, was a must. There were only a few tables taken, so we were able to select we were going to sit. After entering the premise, allowing the server to know we were there, we were presented with the A La Carte menu, the daily specials, and a wine list. What a nice selection of items. From a fried calamari entree to pizza and pasta. Since it was a first, we had a few questions. The server was a bit condescending. Not appreciated. We decided to go with the Panini sandwich, served with fries and a salad. It was a little bland for my taste, but the bread and veal were perfectly cooked. I did enjoy it. Will I go back? Im not sure. Not because of the food but the service to 2 women in an empty restaurant should have been better. The men sitting behind us were given the servers full attention.

Restaurant Mauritzio is the perfect setting for a comfortable dinner any day or night of the week. The food is delicious, and the ambiance is relaxing and just right for conversation. They serve mainly pasta, patinas, pizza, and salads, but they do have a delicious Piri Piri chicken dish. My only suggestion is that they add rice to their menu as Id have preferred rice to french fries with the chicken dish. All in all, it was a lovely experience!

I gave à one star for the decor and the cleanliness. The host/waiter was very nice. We ordered white sangria and it was all orange juice. They had no beer in bottles or cans except one brand We were a table of ten. Half of us ordered pizza and the other half ordered pasta. It took 2 hours to get our food. It was insane. The pizza was under cooked. The dough was soggy and we couldn t even hold the pizza in our hand. We were so hungry that we ate anyway. The pasta was a big blob and over cooked. Not one person at the table was happy with the food, and even more mad that we had to wait two hours. The kids were starving. We went at 5:30 .we got our food at 7:30. Incredible. The place wasn t even jammed. There were two table of ten ppl and another table of two. Only one cook in the kitchen lol.

Visited for the first time and it was a really good discovery. The portions are big, price is cheap for the amount of food and the flavor is really good. Service also was really good. Totally worth to go all the way to the West Island.

Wowww!! Within its walls I was able to taste the tastiest chicken among Gianni of my life, the tenderness of the dish and the freshness was unrivaled. The coffee also knocked me down to catapult me into the seventh heaven of Italian coffee, in short I highly recommend, a small restaurant with unparalleled know-how! Food was great although the lemon cake tasted too extra. Too creamy for my liking. The waitress ripped me off. She says coffee is for free, but she still charged me for the coffee when I paid for my meal. Turned out to be very pricey at the end.

We showed up late and the staff was incredibly nice. They let us enjoy a cappuccino and dessert, all the while being super friendly.

We both had pasta dishes, and both were excellent. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the serving bowls kept it piping hot. We took some of each home to serve as a side for another meal. A calmari appetizer was very good, but could have been larger for the price.

Portuguese chicken is always delicious, but the fries were disappointing. They are too greasy and soggy. The atmosphere is always good and their coffee is great.

They make a good Americano.

I heard good things about the Spaghetti Carbonara and Piri Piri Chicken so thats what I ordered. Unfortunately the Spaghetti Carbonara was missing bacon, had no flavor or seasonings, and was swimming in a lot of oil. The Piri Piri Chicken was hard and dry, like it was cooked the day before. The fries were tasty but soggy and greasy. I wish I could have substituted it for vegetables or rice. The only saving grace was the spicy piri piri sauce but there was so little of it. The whole meal cost me $50+ and was so not worth it. Sorry but I wont be ordering from here again.

Wow, I was very disappointed in our lunch yesterday. My 2 friends and I decided to go to Maurizios for lunch as we have done before and had a lovely time, this time it was horrible. It started with the table, it was on 2 different surfaces so it wobbled terribly, so much so it almost tipped over my friends glass but she caught it in time. We called the waitress over and told her the problem and if she could get maybe a piece of cardboard to tuck under the table foot, she just said maybe you can move to that table pointing to one that was 1/2 in the sun, which none of us wanted to sit in. We had to move another table over to move to and the waitress got annoyed with us because it was making her go around us, then she told me I need to pull my seat in because the gentleman behind me was to close and she cannot pass. Then to top it all off the food came my penini hardly had any chicken, and there was grisly pieces in it and the bread was burnt. My 2 friends also had issues, one with the pizza crust burnt, that she had to cut off completely. My other friend ordered a chicken ceaser salad and couldnt eat it because the chicken had hard grisly pieces in hers also. Needless to say we wont be back. We never send food back to the kitchen with a complaint, cause that never goes well. So we said nothing and left.

Tried Maurizio s last night for the first time. Been wanting to give it a try for a while. Last night we pulled the trigger, my wife and I. Terrace is small and a little crammed. We had 2 restaurant options and we were apprehensive about staying. Ordered a round of drinks and decided once we were done with the drink we d decide pay and go or stick around. We stuck around. Mid way through the meal the terrace began emptying. By the end the wife and I had the whole place to ourselves which was fantastic. Shared a bottle of wine, she took the table d hôtel salmon and had the Bruschetta (sry for spelling). I had the pizza on table d hôtel with Cesar salad. We shared everything and finished off with a cannoli each. It was fantastic. No regrets. Better spacing on terrace = 5 stars

This is our 2nd time from restaurant maurizio. we ordered pizza, bowl of gnocchi and 4 mini cannelloni. the pizza was soggy and parts of it were cold. the gnocchi was not soft and the cannelloni were not fresh and was tasetless. this was one of the most vile meals eaten in all my life. 1 star is too high of a rating. Very dissapointing.

My friend and I had a lovely evening at Maurizio. My meal was delicious and the service by Julien was exceptional. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend an evening here.

Due to being short staffed, and although it is very friendly, the service is long but worth the wait since the food is delicious. Perfect if you are not in a rush and just want to enjoy.

My wife really likes their piri-piri chicken but at home we eat a lot of chicken, so I go for pasta. Their pasta menu is extensive but its hard to find anything outstanding. I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was pretty good. I took the rest home and ate it for lunch the next day. The restaurant has a full bar but their beer selection is Italian, with nothing domestic. I did not get anything in a bottle. In fact, I went for the house red wine, which was very good. Dietary restrictions: My wife has to eat from a Gluten Free menu and they do have Gluten Free pasta. Parking: A large number of spots are available because it is a small shopping center

The food was okay, the service was rushed and after an hour we were asked to leave cause our time was up. I d say that affected my experience.

A bit of a wait for mothers Day brunch and the food was cold but it was tasty and I live close by so Ill give it a second chance for quicker service and hot food.

It was my daughters birthday and she wanted to go to Mauricio as she had been there many times before with a friend when she was living on the West Island. We were arriving at 8:30 pm and the restaurant closes at 9:00 pm. They were very nice to us and said that we could still eat and take our time as long as we wanted. The food was very good. The waitress was very kind and we definitely will go back again. Thank you for the good service we received.

Friendly restaurant with very attentive staff. Great variety of food to chose from. Kudos to the management for employing young people and giving them the opportunity. to gain life experience. A pleasant young man , Nicholas, poured our water and added fun conversation. He gave us. some unexpected laughs. Your parents should be proud of you Nicholas! They are raising a very polite young man. Will defiantly return for food and ambience.

Was there at 20.40 hrs saturday evening, nobody to greet, no clients, no waiters. Forced to leave.

Loved the food and the place but they ran out of coffee!!

Even though the food itself tastes decent, there are quite a lot of stuff that disappointed me. First, they are still delivering with plastic bags, which I didnt think was still possible. Second, for pasta plates that are priced at 23$ each, the portions are very small. I tried both the Linguine alla pescatora and the Penne al salmone and they were both a bit underwhelming. Although the pasta was decent, the quality of the seafood was at best the quality of frozen packaged seafood in my opinion. Third, their desserts was also disappointing. The pastry of the Natas was was chewy than flaky. It felt like they were old and refrigerated which made it not taste good. Furthermore, the amount of cinnamon was just overwhelming all the other flavours. The Cannoli on the other hand was a nice crunchy shell and a creamy filling. Unfortunately, my experience here was a miss for me, I hope I enjoy the food more the next time.

The service is extremely slow. Waited 30 min just to get water and give our orders and then the food took another hour to come. The portions are small. The food is fine.

A great discovery. Simple, complete and unpretentious. A nice place to have lunch and a good coffee. My omelette was excellent.

Made a reservation for 11:30 am, got seated at 12:20pm. After 1pm before we got our order taken. Hope its not like this all the time!!

Dont usually post negative reviews, but had to share our recent experience at Maurizio. Had reservations at 2pm, for which we were seated very quickly. My complaint is that it took 1.5 hour to receive our food, only to be told that they were out of certain ingredients; sorry out of pancakes, you want French toast? Sorry were out of breakfast sausage and bacon, you want ham? Really? Had to wait 1.5 hours to tell us that you were out? Once we received the order, the food was rushed and sloppy. Sad to see a once good place go downhill.

Went today for mother s day. Waited close to 2 hours before receiving our food. Every dish was wrong and food was actually missing. We actually had to go buy cookies at the depanneur to feed the very hungry and crying children (as we were refused any food for them). When we addressed our complaints, we were met with excuses and attitude from the waitress (possible owner). Clearly, the restaurant was not equipped to take on so many reservations and fell extremely short of being capable to handle any sort of request. Unfortunately, it was not only our party who had this experience as I also witnessed other parties in the restaurant experience the same thing. In life, you only get one chance at a first impression. This experience was by far the worst restaurant experience in my life. I will never return

Awful service, sat for over an hour before we even got water. Food tastes good but the sandwiches were soggy and extremely skimpy on fillings . Really ruined our Mother s Day

Sun May 24, 2022. I cannot understand all the negative comments; must be for the previous management. Wife and I did a pickup without reserving first and our Piri Piri whole chicken was hot and ready in 12 minutes. Absolutely delicious, rivalling the best Piri Piri joints downtown Montreal. We will definitely go back.

It was a real disappointment. Service was slow, the food was no better than fast food restaurants. Ordered seafood pasta...the shrimps were from frozen and dime size and the mussels were the same . Pasta was over cooked. Cant see how they have a rating of 4.1. Dont waste your time or money at this place for dinner.

I used to go often before their chef retired....then Covid came along. The prices went up but the quality diminished. I ordered a hamburger which was good but the fries were the greasy ones you get at La Belle Province; I was shocked... plate was $14.95. My friend ordered Fettuccini Alfredo, at the bottom of the dish, there was a watery sauce, milky texture, she couldnt finish it....I dont think I will go back unless there are changes.

AMAZING service. We have a young family and this restaurant is very accommodating (booster seats, colouring crayons, fast service for kids). Good food for a good price and great portions, always satisfied when we go for breakfast! Keep up the great work.

Great Sunday brunch. Frittata was excellent. Fruit fresh. Potatoes done right. No complaints. Will now be our regular stop as its the perfect place to stop when returning to Ottawa.

It was O.K. would give 3.5 stars if I could give halfs. This restaurant is in my neighborhood and always wanted to try it, got the prosciutto pizza : it was good. You can tell they are under staffed, all the waitresses were young and didnt seem too experienced. I asked for spicy oil to out on top of the pizza...it took forever to come and by the time it arrived I had one slice left. But at least the oil was actually very good, so worth the wait. Prices are good, big parking lot and cute outdoor terrasse. Vegetarian options: There was a veggie pizza Parking: Plaza parking lot, always room to park

Terrible service with not one smile, no water offered, no coffee refill, the home fries were soggy with oil and you had to go pay inside, not at your table outside. We went twice and the same experience. My stomach was still upset 12 hours later.Whatever happened to this place? It used to be a little jewel...

Ive only tried the breakfast here so far but it was very basic. Price was decent however. They were understaffed like a lot of places, so the service was not stellar either unfortunately.

Despite the good food the server was continually apologetic for the time wait because they were short staff. We assured her that is was understood and empathized with her plight. We all know how tough the lack of help is affecting businesses today.

Went to go pick up food for delivery and the owner yelled at me for not holding the food right... terrible service and did not appreciate being talked to so aggressively! They also werent wearing any masks which is very unsafe during a pandemic. Would not recommend buying from them if they treat their delivery people this way

They were short staffed, understandably. They have a nice terrace, but unfortunately, we were seated near the door where clients and staff were going in and out all the time. The owner doesnt want to separate the tables of 4 so not too many tables of 2. Out first experience as professional resto goers could of been more enjoyable. The food is good and of optimal quality although not memorable. The regular coffee was always fresh and very good not an acidic blend. Price point is good. With a few tweaks it could become a really good place for breakfast.

The breakfast was Ok. we sat outside, and the plastic chairs were dirty and broken. Staff were polite, but looked tired.

Our server wears her face mask below her nose in violation of the current public health restrictions. We will not be back.

Great smoked salmon eggs benedict and smoked salmon crepe, however the poached eggs seemed inconsistent - one was cooked firm and the other was cooked soft. Hollandaise sauce tasted good and the meal was satisfying overall. Would have liked it if our water was topped off more often. Parking is plentiful in a strip plaza type parking lot. Patio seating is lovely, but the bushes in close proximity does attract wasps.

Homey and cosy

Maurizio is a simple restaurant that served me 2 eggs and potatoes as I ordered. The orange juice was minute maid. The coffee was watery. The service was fine. The food was cheap and it it tasted average. The washrooms and atmosphere could use a remodel.
