This place was so gross. The food doesn t have any flavor whatsoever. The waitress is old people who have medical issues for sure.

I eat here 1 or 2 days a week. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is always great.

This place has been around for quite some time! It is your basic run of the mill mom and pop style traditional Mexican joint offering the usual menu items at usual prices and quality. I really liked my food here and it was very big portions! They have two separate areas one is for family dining then they have like a sports style pub on the other side. Atmosphere wise it needs a bit of an update. Booth chairs were uneven and ripped in the upholstery. But nothing out of the ordinary for this kind of restaurant.

The quality of the food was substandard at best. Its a shame, too, because the portions were impressive, as was the service. I suggest skipping the food and going for the cocktails and service!

Ordered the chili verde and I was surprised that the sauce was bland. The service was nice and the atmosphere was fun, except for the guy screaming at the Seahawks game on tv. But that s just the bar area, what can you do?

First time eating here and I absolutely cannot believe all the great reviews! I rarely leave bad reviews but we tried this place after multiple recommendations on neighborhood site! The positive experiences was friendly and service was good. Service was good cuz we were the only ones there besides 1 couple that came in after us and a few in the bar! Should of known at lunch time it was empty but we gave it a shot! The food was absolutely disgusting, not fresh, meat rubbery and overcooked like it was microwaved. Chips were mostly crumbs, salsa was watery and zero flavor rice, peppers tasted old! The seasoning was foul! We were very disappointed yet we will never complain as weve been in retail our entire life! Its not easy but I felt I had to write a review that the quality was a dissapointment especially what it cost to eat out these days. We frequent family businesses and will always tip big even if the food is not up to standard to be honest even if service sucks if busy! Im truly in shock that customers give 4 and 5 star ratings. We always give a second chance but it was so terrible we wont be back! With all the choices of mexican restaurants to chose from this one just isnt it unfortunately!

Not only is the food insanely amazing, but the atmosphere in the bar is like cheers. We absolutely love this place.

A local favorite, the portions are big, Antonio and Andreas and the staff are wonderful! The Birria tacos, tortilla soup, and arroz con camrones are some favorites!

The Juanita areas only Mexican restaurant, this establishment has a small dining area as well as a bar. Theyve recently introduced karaoke and dancing on Friday nights, which you wouldnt expect at a Mexican restaurant, and it seems to draw in an older crowd. The food here is ok. I suspect at one time it was more authentic and fresh, but now its slowly declined to being middle-of-the-road. My wife enjoys the white menudo here, which is not a dish that is served at many Westernized eateries. Service is friendly enough, and the food comes out fairly quickly. Overall, the restaurant is in need of an overhaul - it gives off a 90s vibe, and some of the bench seats are past their life. Its a far better solution that Azteca up the hill, but hopefully the owner makes some investments to breathe life back into this local Mexican restaurant.

The service at this place was friendly, their margaritas are ok and decided to go with the carne asada fries, very little meat, too much cheese and not enough toppings. For a 16 dlls fries I was expecting more.

I love coming here because it is a great low key neighborhood Mexican place with friendly staff, regulars and good home made tasting food.

Really enjoyable food here. Their enchiladas are phenomenal, as is their asada and their carnitas and chili Colorado and chili verde. I love their rellenos. Their grilled steak is inexpensive and usually pretty tough, so order it rare and cut it small. The staff (mainly Antonio at lunch time) is a good kind of quirky, friendly with the use of humor. Their salsas heat level varies from visit to visit, which is how you know its homemade... Order their specials... So much food! Very high value and great flavor!

As an Uber delivery person, this restaurant is unfriendly. With a handwritten sign on the wall that says Drivers do not block walkway! Why direct it to drivers? Do those that run this restaurant not know that Uber drivers are helping them?? I waited for the customers order for 15 minutes and decided this place doesnt care much about their Uber customers or drivers so I left.

Hey Sara Waltz! The sign Drivers don t block the walkway is for safety :). We have customers of all ages and abilities and we don t want the walkway from the dining room to the front door to be blocked for them. A blocked front door is also a safety hazard. Our staff also need space to carry heavy plates and hot foods to avoid accidents. Most restaurants will agree, us businesses have some drivers that stand in front of the kitchen and will block the way and this is the most simple sign to tell them to wait in our seat filled waiting area. As for your 15 minute wait time, we are a restaurant, not a fast food chain. We like to send out hot and fully cooked meals and only have one kitchen. Each order is made first come first serve. You should have talked to the owner instead of leaving a one star review to a restaurant in which you are not a customer. Maybe you would have understood our sign and wait time. :)

We may have been there on a one off day that many places are experiencing after Covid. I saw a lot of great reviews but our night didn t live up to the ratings. That said the hustle of the over worked lady on the bar side made me tired just watching her. We received water quickly and that s were the quick ended for the remainder even checking out was a wait. The chips and dip (and bean dip) were great. My crispy cheese (we call them TCT (toasted cheese tortillas) was good, ordered an appetizer of chicken taquitos, they were actually chicken chimichangas nothing like a taquito. I think this place requires a revisit and I m sure things will be better just from what I see on the high number of great reviews.

Just had some carne asada, street tacos and some chicken quesadilia delivered via Uber Eats. The worst, tasteless, dry, Mexican food I have ever had, just wow. The carne asada was barely grilled, literally no salt or any spices on it. Tacos were supposed to be Carne Asada but they were ground beef, the guacamole was tasteless as well. Really bad! Waste of money.

Had mango and lime margaritas and wasted it. Had no flavor or taste, won t be coming back again.

Average food and that is too bad given both a nice room and great service on a busy night. We had a group of 10 and that was the consensus. BTW, they do have karaoke nights for those who are looking for some fun. The room does have several screens with mostly sports content. This does not mend the average food in my mind. Margaritas were okay.

Sadly. It tasted like nothing. The quality was severely lacking. You get big quantities, but when the quality is lacking the quantity doesn t matter.

Good food, fast friendly service

Ive been there many times now and the staff is friendly and attentive even when busy. I always look for good tamales and they definitely have them. Its the same price as regular Mexican places but better tasting food. The servings are what youd expect and their drinks are good too. They also have a bar area separate from the dining area. Its mostly locals that go there (I think) so you get that family feel and are able to have a comfortable experience. They also have karaoke on Saturday which is fun (:

My family and I, we come to La Corona almost every week for the past four years. We love the environment the whole staff knows us already. Thus the treating always leaves us willing to come back. The food is a side chapter I shuffle around the menu trying new things, and I never got any cold or untasted dish, it is a place with the highest standards in Mexican cuisine if you love hot Mexican food and cold Mexican beer this is the place for you. It is an excellent warm and family place; we dont think about ending our customer-ship anything soon. *edit review* Still going there and it is still great

I love Mexicans food all the time as long as they make it juicy and spicy. I visited first time this restaurant and ordered Pollo with chicken. I just want to give a suggestion here, please dont dried chicken. Chicken doesnt taste good, if its hard dry and without any flavor. So, please make sure, in which ever item you are serving chicken, it should be soft, juicy and full of flavors. Definitely, I will try to visit next time. Thanks

Coming from the Los Angeles area this is the most authentic Mexican food Ive found in the Seattle area. Very good family owned restaurant with very friendly staff. Starts you off with a good salsa thats very flavorful but not spicy (probably toned down for the locals). The food is probably as close to authentic that youre going to get in the Seattle area.

Ive always had a good meal here. CS is great!

Got a chalupa to go. It was a lot of food. Probably dont need to get the rice and beans next time. Chips were good, better than the chalupa crust.

I love La Corona! Excellent Mexican food with consistently delicious flavors, amazing salsas, tasty margaritas to-go, and quick and friendly service. Really happy with the carne asada, nachos, and chicken quesadillas. They were open on Christmas Eve after Safeway was closed, which totally saved our night on the holiday. That was our fourth time there (all takeout in 2020) and well definitely be back soon.

I am surprised to see all this positive review. tried it for the first time and probably the worst mexican food i ever had. Its expensive food and would have gladly paid few more dollars for a better tasting food.

A great, family mexican restaurant, and our favorite place for mexican food. Very reasonable prices, and their steak (Carne Asada) is just the right texture and delicious flavor. I also recommend the Spinach Enchiladas! If your anywhere in the Juanita neighborhood, or north Kirkland area, be sure and stop by for great hospitality and some great mexican dining.

Amazing yummy food! This is my new favorite Mexican food restaurant! Coming from Texas nothing is satisfying especially as far as finding a good text-mex joint but this place is as close to my favorites as possible. The quality is there and for a fraction of the cost of other restaurants that are plain and disappointing. We were driving back to town on one of the hotest days of the year from a long road trip with our pup and thought wed stop by ixtapa, but they told us to tie up our puppy on the side of the building by a window instead of letting us sit on the empty patio with her. We called La Corona to see if theyd be okay with our puppy sitting outside with us and we were greeted with the most friendly welcoming response. Just another reason we love the staff and food is always good no matter what you get!

Agree with someone else on here in that I have no idea how this place was rated so high. There are far better places in the Seattle area for tex mex style food. Carne assda was tough as shoe leather despite using better than prime beef. Chile relleno not fully cooked. Salsa was good but tortillas and chips were old. Considerably lower quality than something such as azetca in my opinion. Definitely look elsewhere.

The people here are very friendly and provide great service, though phone answering is often confusing. I have had people answer that dont speak English, then hang up! But calling back I have always got someone to take my order. And for some reason I usually call 5 minutes before closing and they are always happy to take my order, not annoyed at the last minute call. The food is great, standard Mexican grub, no surprises which is a good thing. I always get the La Corona Burrito with Chile Colorado for meat and no lettuce. They always pack it full of delicious, tender meat and its enough for two meals. This is my regular Mexican joint, no need to look elsewhere.

Very close to authentic tasting mexican food. Good portion size too!

Staff is far above average. The bar, inside to the right, can get pretty loud. It is so weird how a bitter tasting liquid can make people exceedingly loud. What if there was a liquid with a sweet taste that made people exceedingly quiet? You could serve those drinks in a library, assuming none of them are blended. Of course, you still would not have nachos. One more reason to avoid book learnin if you ask me.

Ive never had this complaint before.... The food is to good and the portions are huge! My wife and I came in for drinks and appetizers and couldnt finish them! OMG this place is great and the music is non stop greatest hits!!

After working to downsize our storage unit (10 hrs total!) We were exhausted, not to mention HUNGRY. My sister was visiting from Beaverton, OR. and wanted Mexican food - not fast food but a sit down place...at almost 8 pm on a Saturday night or choices were limited. I remembered that I had eaten at La Corona yrs ago, so we ventured there hoping that it was open AND we could Dine in. Long story short : the food was very good and the staff was tremendous. So glad that we had a great time, cant wait to go back...
