The food was so bad that I couldn t eat 2 bites I barely touched my food, I should have known it was peek lunch time on weekend and literally no one was at the restaurant . I am shocked that the restaurant is still in business . The food tasted so bad and had the lowest quality you could imagine. the food was cold as if was sitting on the shelf for ever. I literally took 2 bites paid for our meal and left for a different restaurant. Customers pay your price they deserve eatable food not cold & rotten. I am so disappointed. I will never go back to this restaurant.

Horrible ! Takeout was very bad , poor quality and meat was not cooked or hard as rock. Surprised given the many positive reviews for this place.

Koobideh was dry and tasteless. Also the quantity was noticeably less compared to competitors with the same price. Rice was undercooked and unflavored. Would NOT recommend!

The foods were not fresh. They were not warm inside and look like frozen food warmed up just before serving. I don t recommend this restaurant at all.

Google should let zero stars! Frozen coocked food will be warmed up and served to you and your family. Its a shame for a resturant that Coke is their best served food/drink on the table.

My visit to Rumi was unfortunately quite a letdown. The food not only lacked freshness, but it was served cold. To make matters worse, when we brought these issues to the managers attention, our concerns were not met with an apology or any attempt to rectify the situation. With such poor customer service and low-quality food, I cannot recommend this restaurant to even my enemies!

While the service was initially fine and friendly, the appetizer of cheese and bread was the best part of our experience in Rumi. Unfortunately, the main courses were disappointing; the rice tasted stale and had an odd smell, and the chicken was cold inside, we thought it might have been reheated. When we mentioned this to the server, she offered to reheat the chicken but responded rudely afterward. Their unprofessional response to our feedback, including asking us not to return, reflects poorly on their customer service. we wont be visiting again and advise others against trying this place.

Was reading the current reviews and changed my mind to check this place out. Regardless of the quality of the food, its important for business owners to learn how to respect their customers opinions even if it is not fair. No, you are not supposed to rate your customers cuz you and your business is supposed to provide service for exchange of money. and fortunately, google knows about this. I ve never ate inside, but I get takeout or delivery often. This is the best Persian food you can get in the state. It s flavorful, always super hot when it gets to me and after trying literally all the other Persian food restaurants in the area Rumi is by far the best. The barg is to die for, the koobideh juicy and delicious, the joojeh is great!

I usually dine in at Rumi when coming from the other side of the water and usually I have a wonderful experience. The food is delicious and well-prepared, with flavors that really stand out. Great food, but very rude staff. I used to order them often via doordash as I love persian food, specially the barg soltani platter. Unfortunately often times they would fotget to provide the soltani kebab and only would provide the barg kebab, so I used to write a special note/instruction on doordash to provide both of them. Today someone called me from the restaurant about this, and cancelled my order. The staff was rude to me about this. I kind of find it not professional that someone putting a note on Doordash to ensure correct items are delivered is considered offensive/wrong. This is why I am giving it one star, and wont be ordering from here moving forward.

Tasteless and expensive Koobideh. Poor quality chewy ground beef and the basmati rice had a weird smell to it.

Dropped by Sunday lunch, the food was great we got two chicken sultani one with a side of rice and one with a side of salad, and a ghorme sabzi ( sorry no pics ) . Very mediocre food that has no taste of Persian spices. Very disappointed that American salad with Thousand Island dressing was served as a side salad with the meal. Bread was cold and like has texture like tortillas (except that tortillas taste much better). Restaurant was totally empty, we had 3 adults and 1 kid and was about to order 3 meals PLUS an appetizer, but a $5 charge of sharing a plate was insisted even though I said that no splitting would be needed, my daughter would just pick food off my plate. Very expensive for the ambiance, amount and taste of food, and service.

I was so looking forward to some good Persian food. This was not it. It was so watered down. The rice dishes were small.... If youve ever had Persian food before you know that they give you a LOT of rice. The sabzi polo just had a little dill sprinkled in it. Traditionally, it should be packed with all kinds of greens: parsley, cilantro, etc. My salmon was dry dry. It had been under a warmer for too long. The dolmehs were spicy for some reason? The zereshk polo berries were on the side, not mixed into the rice, and the rice had no flavor. It needed more saffron. It was very disappointing. Im not sure if this was an off night or a true representation of their food. What I ate did not represent Persian food at all. I can cook all these dishes much better at home. The saving element was my husband said his lamb was ok. Otherwise - just not good.

I tried the rice with chicken, and its a lovely mix of sweet and savory. The rice has these barberries that make it special, and the chicken is really tender.

Food was cold and chicken was dry. We had to ask for waters three times and yet she still only brought only one cup for four people. When we shared our experience, the owner said, Thats your problem. Such a rude owner. Not a good place to eat.

Surprised this place only has a 4.1 rating. I ve only had Persian food a couple times so I m definitely not an expert, but the food was excellent. All the different types of meat I ordered was cooked perfectly and the tabouli salad was fresh and tart. Wish my stomach was bigger. Definitely need to come back and try more options.

The person serving us was so incredibly kind. Very attentive to the two-year-old in our party, who was acting appropriately 2 years old lol. She really helped keep him calm and sweet. The food is absolutely incredible, best dolmeh and lamb you can find around Seattle (and trust me, Ive really, really looked). Highly recommend the Lamb Special or the Barg, and the saffron ice cream is an absolute dream. Its like a delicate rose flavor coupled with milk and honey. The decor feels homey, and the sumac on the table adds a touch of savory sour to any dish. Fantastic service.

I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to visit Rumi and I must say, it was one of the worst dining experiences Ive had in a long time. From the moment I stepped through the door, it was clear that this place lacked any sense of quality or professionalism. Moving on to the food, it was an absolute disaster. We ordered chicken and lamb shank. Lamb shank was uncooked and cold and we couldnt eat it. She brought koobide instead, which was so awful too. chicken was so dry, I never had such a terrible chicken polo before. To make matters worse, the portion sizes were ridiculously small for the exorbitant prices they were charging. I left feeling hungry and unsatisfied And very disappointed.

Used to be good, a shame that the quality went went down. This will be my last order. Called the store to let them know they charged me $69+ tip for a totally burnt lamb shishlik, she asked me to return the food and exchange for another dish as she claimed they ran out of the shishlik on a Saturday lunch?! Instead of taking pride in their work, they refuse to take responsibility for their food. You lost my weekly orders, way to go!

5 Star for service. But , Sorry the reason for single star is because we (2 ) were charged $5/- split fee and with no extra food and not told in advance. I would not have minded to pay IF we were told during ordering food. or put a notice somewhere. I hate surprises and hence the single star. We ordered appetizer, salad and main course which was pretty decent amount. I respect their policy but its fair to announce when customer mention they are sharing food. Also, this is definitely NOT a place for Vegetarians. Stay away.. Except some dry grilled Vegies Kababs with dry rice.. there is nothing else for main course. It was tasty but nothing special for a veggie connoisseur. :-) For owners response. Thanks for pointing out the fine print on menu. But when we requested for extra plates..( in fact had to come to counter to ask ). As a customer would expect the surprise charges to be told. Also.. we did order other dishes . Ordering form this restaurant for my first time and I really regret that. They made me wait almost two hours to get my order and when it arrived it was cold and did not taste very well. Also, their food and price is crazy compare to other restaurants in the same area. I do not recomend this place for anyone

We had a Thanksgiving gathering and all the food that we ordered was pretty much finished. That is rather unusual. The food was awesome, I could lick my fingers :) and the catering was on time and kindly setup. They also cleaned it up in an efficient manner at the end of the party. I highly recommend Rumi for big gatherings and parties. I will never order any other food for our future parties. Rumi It Is!

I was shocked how the hostess treated us for a basic misunderstanding. She assumed my order is a take out, and was clearly upset, based on her perspective, that we changed our minds for dining in. I never said take out, and clearly told her we want to eat inside when paying my bill and including a tip. We have our vaccine cards + boosters with us at all times, but she claimed we did not gave her the chance to see it, which was inaccurate. While taking out my vaccine card, she rudely walked away.

We love Rumi s! There are not a lot of great options for Persian food in the PNW, however Rumi s is amazing. Home cooked, always fresh. We love the kabob (especially the koobideh & lamb), the salad shirazi, mast o moosir, dough, and more. Also it s a family run business and we love to support them. Check them out if you re in the mood for authentic Persian cuisine!

They make the best persian food in town

The food is a disgrace to persians and the iranian culture. here are my top three reasons I would never go here again. 1.the rice was not cooked enough and it smelled disgusting 2. chicken jooje kabob is from 2 days ago and it has no flvor 3. kabob is burnt and disgusting DONT GO HERE!!!

It was quite delicious. I am not familiar with the cuisine so I cant speak to authenticity, but the cornish game hen kabob was cooked perfectly and the hummus was excellent. Generous servings. Got a little spendy with appetizers but still a good value.

Highly recommend this local restaurant. Flavors are authentic and delicious. Food should be an experience and this is one. Lamb shank was as tender as possible and did not loose any flavor when leftovers were reheated. The tea service is worth it too. If I could give 0 stars I would. I went in today with my family super excited for a good lunch. We ordered 4 of the lamb shanks with white rice. The lamb shanks were not fresh as the inside was so cold as if it was just taken out of the fridge. The rice was also cold, bland and undercooked. The kabob plate we ordered was good and fresh though. We ended up not eating 3 of the 4 shanks and at time of checkout the server told me that I would be given a 20% discount. She charged me a super high number and then said after the discount is it $153. When I did my calculations, she hadn t even given me a discount and that s how much the original amount would have been too. I feel betrayed as she had told me that a discount would be given to me and then she tried to fool me. I could go back and argue with her but if that is how they want to run their business that s okay. I would never come here again even if it was the last place left to eat. Do not recommend.

Im assuming this is a dying business.. or at least it sure seems like it.. based off the owners reply back to other customers that give a bar review. They dont care to fix their issue of careless employees. They just care to defend them. Meaning the owner replying to these messages is just as careless. Just cares to fix the self image rather than fix their issue. Im Iranian and I would highly recommend aghan crusine instead.. you can taste care and their overprice under cooked rice and cold meat is not worth a second look. Never again. Amazing food with lots of variety! Great helpful staff! If you dont know what to get, they will help! Nice place with good seating. We got faludeh as desert it was so delicious. We also got the plate with all 3 kababs, it was so much food! Vegetarian options: They have a bunch! If you cant tell ask them! Parking: Lots of space. Kid-friendliness: Yes.

What a horrible dining experience, first and last time there. Me and my husband stopped by for a lunch. Order kabab, rice and salad. Salad smelled so bad, I could see how old it was, my husband tried some, at the bottom of the bowl was some oil, I believe they served others, when they couldn t finish their salad they just putted back and giving to others. When my husband said to they lady, who was serving food, she started arguing. Still charged us for it. Not recommending to anyone.

This one of the best persian food i have had. i prdered the lamb shank with rice. The big lamb shank is so tender that melts inside mouth. I would higly recommend this place if you like persian foods. I reall aprrcite the food quality and the great persian hospitality. The baghali polo is so awsome, highly recommended.

Tonight we had the pleasure of dining at the Rumi Resturent in Kirkland. Having dined at multiple Persian restaurants from Europe to Australia, I can say with confidence that this was the best Persian cuisine I had experienced. This was topped by great service and timely preparation, all at a reasonable price! Highly recommend to all new as well as seasoned Persian food fans.

It is a small place, food was okay. My family and I were visiting Seattle, and looking for a Persian Restaurant, and this is the best we could find, well pretty much the only one to dine in. Server, she was nice.

We loved their rumi special kabab and this was one of our to go places, although we usually were not happy with the owner customer interaction or when she was yelling at her staff in front of us. But we stopped going when we got a take out and I gave her my credit card to pay and I didn t get any receipt but later I found out that she did add 15% for tip without getting any confirmation from me for take out food. I did cancel the extra amount(15%) on my card and we stopped going there for good.

My three stars are for the food which was excellent and definitely deserve five stars, but I cut two stars for the behavior. Unfortunately, unprofessional and not appropriate.

Rumis Persian cuisine was a good spontaneous take-out restaurant after an active day of being out and about. When ordering online, the prices that we paid for were different than the prices on their website, and the prices on their third-party ordering website. These prices were, I believe a little more than what they were worth. Although the barg was deliciously tender and the joojeh kebab seasoned and cooked perfectly, the koobideh was dry and, frankly, subpar. The basmati rice was cooked well, but a little out-of-proportion to the meats. All in all, Rumis restaurant was a good choice, but not overly special and could definitely be improved.

Buyer beware.....I was born in Iran and raised there until age of 20. I would be ashamed of calling what I was served on my visit to this place a Persian cuisine. everything was microwaved and served. nothing that i had was cooked that day. The salad and must o-khiar was fairly good. Kabab Kubideh was like rubber microwaved to death. The meat whenever it was cooked(not that day and may even not that week) was freezer -burned. I have eaten Kabab all over California and some in Spokane Washington. I cook Kubideh at home and when you put the sikh(skewer) on charcoal grill you can smell the meat and onions everywhere. Not at this small restaurant. The skewer is an inch wide and Kabab cooked fresh is 1 1/4 wide. the whole Kabab here was less than an inch. freshly cooked Kabab sizzles and shiny and juicy. Not here. when you can pick up the Kabab with a fork from one end and it stays straight, thats not cooked fresh. And of course they lied about the freshness. i have given it one star because even though the Ghormeh Sabzi was microwaved, it tasted ok. I should have known when I ordered Sabzi, she said she had two left. Two what? frozen packs of Ghormeh Sabzi? shame on this restaurant to ruin the heritage thats thousands of years old.

Extremely dishonest restaurant. I ordered takeout from this restaurant and the person who took my order slipped a 20% tip on the order. When I asked for the itemized receipt, the server yelled at me in the restaurant saying she cant print it after processing the credit card. When I called back later to ask about extra charges, the same server first calmly told me it was taxes ($10 tax on $38 order!). When I clarified that it doesnt add up, the person started audibly yelling at me again saying its a system generated tip that gets added automatically. For goodness sake, please be transparent with your customers. You dont have to hide mandatory tips/service charges from your customers and then hand them a receipt asking them to leave a tip on top of that - its disingenuous. Also, youre the only restaurant where Ive heard servers yelling at the customer

I had high hopes we ordered from UberEats and regretted it :( I make better Koobideh Kabab at home and I am not a good cook! The kabab was very dry, the rice was not cooked well, and Mirza Ghasemi was heavy on tomatoes making it hard to taste any eggplants. Would never order from here again.

Just ate here. Food was okay but the service wasnt so. Didnt provide water at the table. Also noticed that the check was provided to another table but I had to walk to the front to pay. Weird vibes. When ready to check out. I inquired about the water. Waitress said we give water only if you ask for it. That because of Covid, we dont provide unless you ask. Unfortunately wont be coming back.

If I could give this restaurant less than one star I would! Upon receiving my food from DoorDash(chicken Joojeh and a Greek Salad). The Greek salad was old and soggy, it wasnt just soggy from being dressed (most restaurants put the salad dressing on the side) but soggy due to the lettuce being old. Old lettuce has a very specific taste, it definitely wasnt fresh. The cucumbers were also floppy, not crisp, again NOT fresh!!! There was literally 4 tiny pieces of Feta cheese on the so called Greek salad. The Joojeh chicken was tough not tender at all and the spices on the chicken were definitely not traditional. DO NOT waste your money here if you want Joojeh chicken, I will suggest Caspian in Bellevue for authentic Persian food. When I called the restaurant to let them know my experience, the horrible lady that answered who I believe manages the place, was extremely defensive and has absolutely no customer service skills. She said she made the salad herself and she put plenty of Feta cheese and proceeded to tell me how fresh the lettuce and vegetables were, basically calling me a liar. Instead of apologizing for my experience and asking how she could make it better, she was rude and hung up on me!! Thank goodness for DoorDash as they gave me a full refund. She will never have our business again! This woman should not own a business!!

A hidden gem. We ordered all the main plates. The difference between the sultani and a regular plate is that the sultani gives you two choices of meat. The meal size is large and the quality is great

Best Greek salad I ve had in my life. Simple, healthy and extremely fresh ingredients.

What a wonderful surprise! Weve had Persian Food at a couple places before. Good, but honestly a little low on flavor and richness. This place was delicious! We got the appetizer plate, a rice dish and a stew. For the appetizers we got a mint eggplant dish-- Yum! A tomato, basil, cucumber, cheese and pita dish with olives. Simple food, but good. And hummus.Just hummus? No. My son couldnt stop eating it. Definitely one of the best hummuses Ive tried. The rice, raisin, cherry, chicken lentil dish? Super tasty. I could have kept eating the chicken, or any part. Together they were a wow! Im sure the kebabs were fantastic too, but Im a fan of Santorinis kebabs. Simple. delicious, so we didnt try them at Rumi. We did try their chicken walnut stew. WOW! Hard pressed to stop eating that one. Sweet and savory, rich, flavorful, different, and yet familiar. And the people were really nice, too. We will be back for sure.

Does not worth. Taste is terrible and also very expensive compering to the price. I paid extera for bread but they did not give me the bread. I do not recommend this restaurant.

The meat was a little dry, but the Basmati saffron rice and generous portions of butter made the overall meal alright.

Very nice, authentic Persian food. I had ghormet, which was very good, including the dried lime which I dont always see at lower quality Persian restaurants. My wife and I really enjoyed the Persian Ice cream, which somehow Ive never had previously! It was unique and yummy, with large chunks of frozen cream, not too sweet.

Reminded me of my mothers cooking. Beautiful restaurant with fantastic food and environment. You havent tried Persian food until youve eaten here!

Great zershk chicken: chicken flavored well and rice too. The fesenjoon here is amazing.

Chicken Cabab was tender and juicy. Just like my hometown restaurant. Its so hard to find good persian food. We were very happy with the food and the service was great. Very kind family ran restaurant. My kids were dancing over their food.

Its just average. They add so much lemon juice to barg and chenje for some reason, it made the meat sour and tough. I have never experienced lemon juice on my red meat kabobs, idk maybe some persians like it that way...

This is a cozy restaurant with a good quality food. Dont let the shabby look discourage you since the quality of the food is real. Also they deliver through uber, doordash and more, so have your food delivered or order inline and pick it up if you fo not want to dine in. I recommend chenjeh kabab, barg kabab, loobia polo, and gheymeh.

We just moved here from CA, looking for kabab, it was rainy day and she was short staff but as soon as she saw my kids she gave us a table and let us eat there (dine in) despite she had her hands full and by herself only. Very friendly and nice owner and manager. food was excellent, rice perfect cook and kabab was juicy, loved the masmosire, price is very good. Beautiful atmosphere. It s an hr drive but we ll worth every Penny and minutes if drive. We found our spot.

I will never take my business there again. The lady who is claiming to be the owner yelled at my kids and was very rude just because we asked her to bring more water.

Hidden gem for Persian food around the area. The staff are friendly and kind. I had the Cornish hen, which was very fresh, juicy and delicious! Perfectly marinated and cooked. We missed the Persian ice cream, will go back for it. Tip: you can ask for half salad and half rice with some of the items on menu.

One of us has Asian American roots & one Ozarks Midwest American. Best lamb, shislik (chops), &/or shank, this side of the Atlantic AND this side of the Pacific. Often served by Proprietess Herself. These lamb dishes & Koobideh are just outstanding, even after 30 years of international travel. Would tell you about some other items but have not had our fill of lamb & veggies in nearly two years, so have yet to work our way thru the menu. We might wax poetic, however this is real food, therefore will stop talking,,, & move on to the eating...
