What a hidden gem! Amazing Brunch! We have dined here for brunch a few times. What a hidden gem! The food is delicious and the portions are huge. Great $ value. The shrimp and grits have just enough spice and the burrata toast is A++. Make sure to add avocado. Candace is a wonderful, attentive to service, and always anticipating your next need, if any. She truly loves her job! Chris, the manager, came over to make certain everything was to our expectations. We will be back and can't wait!

Delightful, well-executed and nostalgic experience for both breakfast and dinner. Cocktails and back bar are great. Their savory dishes are wonderful across the board (from what we ordered for both meals), but pairing a root beer float with the beignets made my sweet tooth very happy. Solid service on top of all that, both times.

Loved the atmosphere and the great brunch choices. Great service. Friends have raved about their late night dining so we are definitely returning for some wine, craft cocktails, cheese and charcuterie. This place is a great find

The serve and host were great. Very attentive however, the chefs at this restaurant should be embarrassed. This seems like a trend in places like this that market themselves as high-end and charge prices to support that but the food is absolutely horrible. My wife ordered a steak medium, and it came out very rare. It was gummy and no flavor. Everything was drenched in oil and sauces. As a professional chef in any capacity, I can’t imagine them being OK with food leaving the kitchen at this level of quality.

Pretty good fried chicken sandwich! Ask for sauce on the side just in case you don’t like it. I love it! The fries were delicious too, very crispy and a lot of it. Went on a Wednesday afternoon and it was pretty quiet and our server was really nice.

Great place for brunch! Great drinks and incredible food! The cinnamon roll French toast was DIVINE. The waffle was also incredible. We started out with beignets which was definitely the move but they give you quite a few so don’t eat them all or your definitely can’t finish your meal! Our waitress Maya was great!

Wow! What an amazing place! The drinks are on point. The manager came and talked with us and I could tell he knew what good cocktails were from the menu and the conversation. Literally made a kids drink for our child, which he drank and enjoyed so much. Tianna was also an amazing server and super friendly and attentive. She could anticipate our needs. Everything was amazing. I would come back here any day of the week I'm back in the area.

The restaurant has a great happy hour menu with a lot of tasty snacks, salads, and small dishes, as well as wood-fired pizza. All of the options pack in good flavors, even with the relatively limited menu. The service is still quite friendly and helpful as well. The restaurant offers excellent outdoor seating in a covered area, along with heating units for the cold weather.

I stayed at the Heathman in October 2024 for two days. While the atmosphere and service was LOVELY. The beds were absolutely awful. One drink is $18... I stay around here for work and Im not sure that I would stay here again, because of the bed. To be honest, its mportant to have a comfortable bed when youre sleeping in a hotel. The rates they charge should allow for the upgrades they need.

Wow, where to begin. We were not made to feel welcome from the minute we arrived, and it did not improve from there. So disappointing for kirkland. Service was sub par, and that is generous. Seafood chowder had bacon, which was not listed on the menu, making it not edible for me. And... service charge is already included on the bill, so you get the privilege of tipping generously regardless of the crappy service. Steer clear of this place!

we came here for dinner multiple times and it was really great, also we love Victor the bartender he is just super great. But today we tried their weekend brunch, and it was such a disappointment, food had no flavor and just was not good, service sucked, and to top it off who charges $6.00 for a cup of tea?? and $6.00 for a cup of drip coffee.... guys this is just ridicules, something has to be changed, I will defiantly NOT come back here for brunch ever again.

June 22, 2024

We were seated right away which was nice. But service was extremely slow. It was us and two other tables, on a Monday around 10:30am. The other two tables were already eating. We ordered drinks first. It took more than 15 minutes just to get our drinks. Then probably another 5 minutes before she came back to take our order. The frittata was not a frittata, it was scrambled eggs with veggies. It did not have that velvety custard like texture that makes a frittata a frittata. My Parmesan potatoes were cold when I got them. Like cold cold, not like warm. The amount of money you pay for this food it should be way better. I don t recommend this place.

I dropped by to try their brunch menu to make a final decision on where to go for Mothers day.The petite flank salad and OVERPRICED sweet potato fries took a fairly long time considering there were ONLY 4 customers in the dining room and one besides me outside....my server was happy but forgetful..l never got my arnold palmer and maybe she thought me too...Too bad this happened because the Heathman is a nice hotel.

Well, I will never go here again. We booked a reservation a month in advance for Mothers Day. Upon arriving, we noticed a huge amount of people waiting. Someone waiting said they were waiting 45 minutes past their reservation. After being told our wait for our reservation would be about 40 minutes, we headed over to the neighboring bakery. Thank goodness for the Kirkland bakery, they saved the day. Did I mention, I have a 1 year old, so waiting and keeping her calm for over an hour before eating is questionable? Finally, after an hour we were seated. Overall service wasnt bad. They only had 2 servers so many tables remained open furthering frustration from other patrons. We get it, they are doing their best. They were hustling. Sitting for about 5 minutes we noticed, the AC was not on and it became pretty uncomfortable. The food was decent, but nothing to write home about. My husband got the check and when I asked him, how much, I was flabberghasted. After getting an itemized check, I realized they charged us an extra 24% for a Mothers Day charge. So we paid an additonal 22 dollars on top of the bill and tip, to sweat in stale air, with mediocre food. The manager seemed so laissez faire, which made it all the more infurating. At the very least we shouldnt have been charged the service fee. You should really consider doing better.

May 22, 2024

Made a reservation for mother s day brunch for outdoor seating at 12:15. I arrived and was told it would be another 20-30 minutes. I went in 3 times to check on my reservation and I realize it was Mother s day but it was ridiculous we weren t seated until 2 pm! Lots of people were walking in off the street giving their names. What s the point of making a reservation? I have been a customer since the Heathman opened in 2007. Back in the day trellis restaurant was exemplary as was the hotel. This was the gem of kirkland but sadly it has gone downhill. I will never step foot into this restaurant or hotel ever again!!

May 22, 2024

We had a Mothers day reservation here for 12 PM with my wife and son. When we arrived, we were told that they were running behind but our table wasnt ready yet. However, half the restruant was empty and majority of those empty tables were not yet bussed. We ended up having to wait all the way until 1:30 to just get seated. The food took another 45 minutes to arrive. Food was good we got the Cornish hen, tomato carpaccio, and the crab cakes and our waiter was friendly. But we will not be returning to the restruant again. An hour and a half wait for a reservation we made for 12 is just not acceptable. Especially when the restruant was half empty.

★★
May 22, 2024

Avoid this place if you value two things: (1) time; (2) money. We had a reservation for 12:45. Arrived a few mins early. We were told that it would be another 20 mins for us to be seated. We were seated after an hour while the half of the place has been empty the whole time. There were just a few poor ladies trying to serve the entire place. You might think the labor is expensive, but no. They make you pay for the labor with a whopping 24% service charge, too (tbf, this might be a special event thing). I get that things can go wrong but at least be upfront about it. If they told us 1 hr, we would have left. Bunch of parties had to wait 1.5 hrs beyond their reservation time. The host guy kept telling 20 mins to everybody. If you can t serve the people who made reservations, own your mistake. Don t bait people into waiting for more than an hour.

May 22, 2024

First things first, the star rating is not intended for the server staff. They were doing their best running around, trying to keep up with the orders. But management oh boy! They have no idea what they re doing. I was there today for Mother s day brunch. Arrived and checked-in 5 mins before the reservation. We re told they are behind schedule and would need to wait 20mins. Hotel lobby was full of people waiting for their tables. It was obvious that 20mins is straight up lie. I don t think it s an honest mistake because everyone in that lobby had to wait at least an hour to get seated, yet host kept telling every new group checking in that wait time is 20-30mins. What a joke! It was a nice day outside but because staff was not able to keep up with cleaning, majority of the groups got seated indoors, which is another bummer. It s the worst planning ever. All the good tables were there to hold dirty dishes. How can the management not foresee the interest for those tables and utilize them better? After all the wait and getting seated indoors, food was mediocre. Poached eggs of benedict were fully cooked and yolk was not runny at all. Beignets were the only good thing in my order.

May 22, 2024

My mother and I thought it would be nice to try this restaurant for Mother s Day brunch. In booking online, I asked if we could be seated outside and when it came time to be seated, amongst many open tables in the sun with a nice view, we got seated in the shade staring at the back of a TV by the entrance. There is a bench right by this table and numerous guests kept sitting and speaking extremely loud. My mother and I also watched someone let their dog urinate on the side of the building not too far from where we were seated. It was extremely off-putting. The waitress was nice but it took a long time for us to order and then around 20 minutes just to get our drinks. We noticed how understaffed they were and the waitress was getting hammered with negative comments and customers asking for things to be taken off the bill so because of this, we said nothing as to not make her day any worse. Drinks were good but we added a shot to my mother s drink as it was non-alcoholic and they charged me $12 for Tito s Vodka which was a few dollars less than the drink itself. I have never been charged that much for a shot and my jaw dropped to the floor when I received the bill. We each ordered an alcoholic drink, 1 appetizer and a meal and with the $25 service charge (OMG insane) and a normal tip, it came out to almost $170! I was so unimpressed and actually felt totally ripped off. Nothing we had as far as food, drink and service came close to amounting to the bill. Maybe they were having an off-day, but unfortunately, I will definitely not be coming here again and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone I know. It is definitely a shame because the restaurant is very nice.

★★
May 22, 2024

The food is way too overpriced for what you get. Almost $20 for a bowl of plain oatmeal with a small cup of fruit. Not worth the price point. I recommend going to the bakery across the street for a better and cheaper meal.

WORST restaurant in my life. My husband and I went there for Thanksgiving dinner and it was the worst experience in our lives. 1) short staff: even though we had made our reservation, we had to wait for quite a while at the front since there was LITERALLY nobody to help us. 2) SOLD OUT: not to mention that we had made our reservation, but we were told that they ran out of ingredients already by 5pm and we did not have many options to choose from their $80 3-course menu. It shows that they are incapable of estimating, preparing the right quantities 3) WRONG ORDERS: we ordered only one drink but the waiter brought us two drinks almost insisting that we ordered two. Also, we ordered two different desserts but they brought out the same dessert for both of us. The waiter just didn t know what he was doing 4) HORRIBLE FOOD: I had never had turkey so dry like this in my life. My husband and I did not even finish the plate halfway. The appetizer was not seasoned properly and tasted horrible. 5). FROZEN DESSERT: not only they brought us the wrong dessert menu, the pumpkin pie was still frozen inside. it was totally ICY. We did not even have 3 bites out of it. 6). BAD SERVICE: they were rushed, insistent, didn t know what to do when we said we didn t order it. Don t understand how this restaurant is still in business. Waste of money. Not going back there.

Just had breakfast, at Hearth, and was quite pleased. It is on a corner, so many tables, ours included, have a great view of the outside street activity. I ordered a mushroom scramble, and it was very mushroomful, with many different types having various shapes and sizes. My wife ordered avocado toast and seemed very happy with it. Our server was very pleasant. It is a bit pricey, but given the tasty eats and pleasant surroundings, Id say it is worth it.

The classic eggs Benedict was disappointing. It was served on round shaped bread instead of a real English muffin. The ham was too salty and the hollandaise sauce was bland. The flavor and texture of the food was not at all what a Benedict should taste like. The potatoes were excellent! Service was good and the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. The food does not meet the standards I expected at this restaurant, though - especially since it is attached to the Heathman Hotel.

Chicken and Waffles : Such a great idea. Chicken and egg were made well but there was NO seasoning! Bland bland bland. Waffle was the best part. Smashed Parm Potatoes: Im gonna say it again, USE SALT please!

I dined here last night with a good friend. The service was excellent and the server affable. I had the mushroom pizza and it was excellent. We shared the burrata appetizer, which was also delicious, and the server brought extra bread when we needed it. Last but not least, I had the smoky bourbon cocktail and it was both beautiful in presentation, as well as uncommonly tasty. I will definitely come again when i am in Kirkland.

A rustic but impressive restaurant in the heart of the city, The Hearth is a great outing for special events and afternoon meet ups. The service offered by the table staff is excellent and the exterior seating arrangements allow for an open view to the avenue whilst being covered from the elements. Vegetarian options: Hearth offers an impressive selection of salads and other green options, as well as other rich appetizers. Parking: Located deep in the downtown, parking is a bit scarce during busy hours, but you can usually find a street to park on for 1-2 hours. Kid-friendliness: Hearth supplies interactive kids menus with simple food choices.

The menu offers too few good and no original or outstanding dishes for vegetarians and vegans. Today my friends and I ordered the avacado toast which was full of brown spots on chewy bread that was nearly impossible to cut through; none of us enjoyed our meal. My wife and I came in for lunch today, and I have to say that the pizza was very good, my chicken sandwich was not good at all, it was over cooked. When we let the lady server know about the food being not so good, she acknowledged and apologized for the sandwich not being on point. Then she walked to the bar to let the manager know about the situation, but HE JUST BRUSHED HER OF AND TOLD HER THAT HE DID NOT CARE. I saw that from where my wife and I were sitting. I went ahead and paid for the whole meal, because the point is not the 20.00 dollars for the sandwich, the point is to provide good customer service. David is the name of the manager who apparently did not care about us as clients . David, please work on your customer service skills specially because you work at a restaurant, and I am sure the owner will be very interested in knowing how are his clients being treated when coming into his business.THIS IS A RESTAURANT THAT I DEFINITELY WOULDN T RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO HAVE A NICE DINNER OR LUNCH EXPERIENCE.

I booked this place after 4 star reviews but I was very disappointed. Service was not upto standard. Me and my wife wanted to enjoy breakfast on our anniversary I ordered crispy chicken with Hollandaise sauce and poached eggs. Crispy chicken was not crispy, hardly and hollandaise sauce and on top of that poached egg was hard. Similarly my wife ordered foragers bowl with Poached egg. Again similar experience the poached eggs was hard from the center and it was without any taste. I would not recommend people to come here after looking at the pictures in the menu. Its not worth the amount we paid for.

This is usually a consistently good place. Tonight was the exception. They had a special BBQ menu they were pushing and the food was lackluster at best. I had ribs and pulled pork, mac & cheese; and a roll. The ribs were terribly undercooked and tough - rather like shoe leather. The mac and cheese sauce was watery and lacked flavor. The roll was served room temperatures-ish. Definitely not hot. Coffee was definitely sitting for awhile and tepid. A large party with a gaggle of screaming kids arrived, totally ruining what I had hoped to be a quiet evening. I am looking forward to other dining options in Kirkland and will wait until Heath has its act together again.

Ok so we went here because we were giving a 20% discount because we were staying at the hotel. I normally do not write a review. I do believe that this restaurant does deserve one and it isnt good. I ordered a drink and a coffee which did take about 20 minutes to arrive. The lady that served us was friendly. But that is where the positive review ends. I ordered avocado toast and pork sausage. I did ask for the pork sausage to be returned and I didnt have to pay for the bad pork jerky which was over cooked and not good. The avocado toast was on decent bread but was covered in tomatoes and arugula which was covered in oil. I have never had avocado toast but my friend eats it daily and said this toast was not good. I tried to pay with cash but they didnt have enough change to give me so I did end up using a card overall this restaurant is underwhelming and I would not go here again even with the 20% coupon and the convenience of where we were staying. I hope I stated how the avocado toast wasnt good and was very oily it needed some lemon juice or zest.

Not horrible, but not something Id go back for again and again. Went for restaurant week...dinner was definitely not worth $50. Braised short rib was dry and only saved because of the sauce. Dessert was mediocre and my friends cheesecake was still frozen in the middle. Also, when our dessert silverware was brought to us, a staff member (not our waiter) abruptly placed them onto our table without saying a word. He was holding onto them too with his bare hands - no napkins and not much finesse. I swear my fork was a little sticky. I just expected a little differently, especially in this time of covid. So to reiterate, it wasnt horrible. Maybe Ill try the place again, but Im in no rush to.

Service: Came here with some friends for restaurant week. My 5 years living in washington, this is the first restaurant I have been to where the service from the waitress was absolutely terrible. I normally understand if it s busy or if someone is having a bad day but the waitresses with the curly hair was on a whole new level. First of all, it took her exactly 26 minutes to take our order and bring water to our table. Although that wasn t a big deal, she came to our table with an attitude and it left a bad taste in our mouths. It was fairly busy and she did not write our orders down, resulting in 2 mistakes of our orders. Everyone in my group ordered alcohol so I instinctively showed her my ID and she rudely asked me why I am showing her my id if I didn t order alcohol. She then scoffed at me. My 27 years living on this planet I never had a server scoff at me before. The hostess was kind and it made up for the bad taste the waitress left in my mouth. Food: The three course meal was decent for 35$ for a hotel restaurant. I got the meatballs, halibut, and the Ice cream. The meatballs weren t anything special but the sauce with the cheese was good. The halibut was a bit dry and bland but everything else on the plate was alright. Overall: there are way better restaurants for less price in Kirkland. If you re looking to come here for restaurant week I suggest looking somewhere else.

We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful flavors of both meals, as well as the crisp white wine and the outdoor dining option. I suspect well find ourselves there again in the near future.

Omg...their brunch is so amazing!!! I recently went with my husband to this place and really enjoyed the food and drinks. I liked the fact that they had followed proper social distancing norms. Also, they didn t completely cover their outdoor spaces and had proper circulation especially necessary during this pandemic time. At the same time, they had installed heaters to keep the place warm and nice.

My wife and I were staying at the hotel and ordered room service from them and it took over an hour for the food to be ready. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich with fries which was a decent amount of food and so she shared with me. It tasted good but was pretty salty and so we were both guzzling water all night. They had no desserts because they were out that night and also were out of several other menu items. I had some issues with my entree but the manager immediately took care of it once it was brought to his attention. I can tell that he has a lot of passion for what he does and that hes working hard to make this the best restaurant possible. Overall, my experience could have been better, but I think the staff was doing the best they could on a particularly busy night. Id like to come back at some point in the future and give them another try.

I do not recommend at all. Me and my friend came here wanting to get a table they have a sign outside that says wait here to get seated we waited after 10 minutes a lady with black hair came and talked to us extremely rude saying that they only do reservations as if we should ve known. Not coming to this place again. So I will come to George s at least I know they will be polite and kind and the good is better rated.

12/31/2019: NYE Dinner Over Promised and Under Delivered. Yes, super late review but I completely forgot about this place. Honestly I hope our night was just a fluke but It forever will be embedded in our life as the worst NYE ever. Venue: The restaurant made it seem like they were almost sold out for this magical, champagne popping NYE Dinner celebration. Online it said, tables almost sold out, reserve now. When calling to ask about the NYE options I could tell they were pushing for a reservation. In all reality I would say they were at about 40% capacity that entire night. *The only thing special about the night is that they had an ice luge with glasses of champagne next to it (no included in the reservation). WHAT HAPPENED: Simple and to the point. Four of us dinned and did the full multi coursed NYE Dinner with pared drinks. I don t recall the exact cost per person but it was close to $200 each. The food was subpar, the flavor was missing, the pairings were all over the board and in the end two of us felt sick and kept rushing to the restroom, and two of us didn t even make it home and had to get a hotel room for the night. That s how awful the pairings were. It did not taste like the food was fresh but maybe pre prepped for the busy NYE Dinner . >>We did reach out to the restaurant later, I believe a main chef contacted us back and asked my wife to please give them another chance and offered to send us a gift card. The gift card never showed up. We did however get a comp on the hotel room. Imagine our walk of shame the next morning in our NYE outfits Not an Ideal NYE whatsoever. I m sure the food here is ok on a typical night but maybe back in December of 2019 a fancy NYE dinner was over their heads?

Service is friendly, menus is limited but food is tasty. Was surprised and a little disappointed to see that there were no gluten-free options for brunch. Given that gluten sensitivity is so common-place, I would highly encourage adding a couple GF options to your brunch menu to give your patrons more options.

Excellent fair. The food is diverse and holds your attention. My however has to do with the atmosphere....... What started as a pleasant feast among family and friends ended with extremely rude and raucous people nearby spilling their gusto over the entire restaurant. Ill mannered, rude, selfish and unconcerned about anyone else. I would have given 5 stars, but although the staff was attentive, they forgot elements, even when they were called for. In all the food was great but the atmosphere was bad. Hope you have a better experience!

More than 30 minutes before a waitress approached our table. Food was undercooked.

December 22, 2020

I really wanted to like this place. Tl;dr--save your money and go somewhere else. The drinks took forever to be delivered. The food we ordered came out at radically different times. The appetizer came out after 3 of the entrees had been delivered. The last entree came out after a person had completed their food! The mussels tasted like they had all died a day before and they still charged us for them even after stating how bad they tasted in the first place. Just dont go here.

We went there twice in one night while downtown enjoying a show. Beforehand, we decided to have dinner. The host was really snarky about not having a reservation (which was superfluous since none was needed and tables were available). The waitress was awful. She rarely came around, and then she forgot to get our drinks from the bar. Food was fine, a bit salty, but still tasty. Then the check took 20 minutes to collect. The waitress made excuses about how everyone was busy. Fine. We saw the show and then afterward thought to have a final cocktail and some dessert. We gave Hearth a second chance. The restaurant was nearly empty but the experience was the same: poor service, slow drinks, uninterested staff. Seems like the team there s takes advantage of their good location and thus doesn t care about service. Hard pass.

TDLR: the beer can chicken is juicy! This place is connected to the lobby of a hotel. Street parking. The decor is pretty minimal but I do have to applaud their alternating cup colors at each table. Its a great way to tell which cup is yours or not. Clever. The salt jar is pretty neat too. Paper menu with some descriptions. They dont have a whole lot since each thing is made to order. Service: wait to be seated, order at the table, you will water yourself with a nifty glass carton, your leftovers will be boxed for you, check brought to you. Marias Beer Can Chicken: a meal for two, very filling and the chicken is very tender and juicy. The potatoes, onions, and dates compliment it nicely. Stone Fruit Short Bread: yum! I love the short bread chunks. Made to order and takes 30 minutes.

We were excited to support the business post covid but unfortunately they would not honor our reservation as made over a week prior. After waiting 10 minutes to speak to someone the host rudely informed us they would never have taken a reservation for outdoors (clearly they did). He then went on to explain he had to seat the walk ups who had arrived before us but had no reservations and might be able to accommodate us if we would wait. Do not bother to make a reservation here.

Of all the places weve been able to go to since the Pandemic, this is the place that I felt took things the most seriously. I enjoyed Hearths soft opening. Everyone was super nice and greeted me as I came in. The happy hour flatbread the goat was the size of a medium pizza and delicious though a little spicier than I expected. I enjoyed the spontaneity of the chefs choice cocktail, and the burger was a nice savory and filling meal. Roasted garlic was mixed in with the fries and it was a nice added flavor. We topped off the evening with a root beer float that was surprisingly delicious. I am not usually a root beer fan but this one was amazing. It even had a marange rim! All in all I will definitely come again, especially for happy hour.

Good ideas, poor execution. Party of 6. 2 orders of braised short ribs, both were so tough you needed (Im using the word needed here) a knife to tear apart the meat. Braised short ribs shouldnt require a knife. Also, the flavor of the braised short ribs was rather bland. Our salads came out wrong, but we kept them and didnt bother w complaints there. 1 order of blt... bacon was under was seriously undercooked, two people double checked. Flatbread pizza came out w no cheese at all, and we were told, its flatbread as if to mean flatbread equals no cheese. This is simply not true. Eggplant dish is described as having figs, but no figs. We were told the figs melted. Figs dont melt. Stop it. The menu reads really well, and you will have high explanations, but the food will veryikeky disappoint. Side note: fries are fantastic. Fantastic.

December 22, 2019

We were six. None of us was pleased with the food. My roasted eggplant had no figs as was indicated in the menue. When I asked the server, he said the fig had been melted!!! Not acceptable. Will never go back.

December 22, 2019

I cannot believe they ruined a perfectly good trellis restaurant and put in an awful menu that no one in my group of 8 could find 1 thing on the menu to eat so we walked out and wont ever be back. Why do people continue to change things that dont need changing? It sickens my group of 8 who used to frequent Trellis. Their loss, not ours. There are still a few good places like the lodge, the wild Rover, and Hectors for now. We will give them our money instead!!
