This was our first time visiting the Kirkland location, though we’ve been to other spots (and Cattle Creek) and usually really enjoy them. I’m happy to say Kirkland didn’t disappoint! We went on Halloween night, so the place was empty, and while the service was friendly, it was a bit slower than expected for a quiet evening. The cocktails were delicious, and the food was every bit as good as at the other locations. The restaurant itself is larger, which makes it feel a bit less cozy, but still very inviting. I’d love to return in the summer to try some crudos and oysters—it seems like the perfect spot for that kind of fare with a little more lively ambiance. The portions here, as with the other locations, are on the smaller side, so I’d recommend one small dish and one main dish per person, which felt like the perfect amount. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and look forward to coming back!

Nice restaurant with a view of the water. Food was good, expensive for the portion but I guess that’s typical of the location. Skipped cocktails as they were around $20 each. Lots of dogs on the patio, didn’t bother me but I heard someone else complaining about it. Blackened Fish PoBoy $23 Wild Carolina Prawns $21

RockCreek offers an exceptional seafood experience, with standout dishes like the seared tuna salad, perfectly cooked mackerel, and a flavorful prawns dish. The cauliflower salad was a refreshing complement, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. However, the end of the meal was marred by the inconvenience of not being able to split the check for our group. It took us around 20 minutes to manually sort out who ordered what, calculate taxes, making the checkout process unnecessarily tedious.

The best best fried calamari salad i ever got. The smoky flavor of the swordfish equally distributed to each corner and the taste is amazing. We enjoyed every bites of all our dishes.

We had just returned earlier in the day from a trip to China. So we were looking forward to fine dining in downtown Kirkland. RockCreek has a stellar reputation in Seattle. Why not give the new Kirkland location a try. While there was no Lake Washington view, the restaurant was less than a block away. Upon walking into the restaurant, there wasn't a warm welcome. We were simply asked if we had a reservation. OK? Walking to our table, we had a sense of being cramped. What really stood out was how loud the restaurant was. It was so loud that it compromised our dining experience. Casual conversation was impossible. The menu lived up to expectations. Our meals were very good. Not quite to the standard of the Seattle location. Fine dining has a premium cost. Yet, fine dining is about the whole experience. We anticipated a great experience. We left disappointed. Good isn't great. Food and service couldn't overcome the challenging atmosphere. While the potential is there, this location may be a work in progress.

Visited RockCreek recently and was impressed by the fresh seafood. The yellowtail crudo and the grilled whole Italian fish were solid choices. The mackerel salad stood out as excellent, and the potatoes side dish was perfectly cooked. They nailed the brown gravy on the shrimp & grits, though the grits themselves were just okay. The restaurant offers a nice view of the lake, but it is slightly noisy - If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, this might not be the best choice. Service was impeccable with very friendly and attentive staff. Overall, the food was delicious, and the cocktails were on point. We had a nice dining experience

Sunny Sunday afternoon makes this sleek and upscale waterfront seafood restaurant an obvious choice as dinner destination. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. We ordered shrimp & grits and smoke trout salad starters. Pretty generous portions. For mains we ordered Sea Bass and Scallop. The proteins were cooked nicely. The "salsa pasta" they served on was a bit too heavy with oil. Portion was also very generous. Their dessert menu looks great but we were too full. This restaurant is a long awaited addition to downtown Kirkland. We may not have liked our dishes as much as we wanted to, but being a newly opened restaurant we wouldn't mind coming back a few more times to try other dishes.

This was awesome. Food was great! Flavors were robust and quality was superb. Our waitress was really nice too. They randomly gave us 2 dishes to try. Never had that happened before. We stayed there for 3 hours and even though they were busy, they didn't rush us or asked us to leave. She refilled our glasses of water even after we paid and just sat there and talked. Would go back for sure!

Rock Creek Grill in Kirkland has a tasty happy hour menu. The Hamachi, mussels and oysters were standouts for us. Hamachi a tad on the tiny size. We were there for my daughters birthday. Miles was our server and was the perfect amount of attentive. Enjoyed the benets for dessert . Would go back. Must be lovely in the summer out on the patio with the fire going

I ve been here about four or five times. Although there s a lot to like about this restaurant, there are just as many things that really tarnish the experience. Starting with the positives: The cocktail menu is great and the bartenders are very good. When weather allows, sitting on the patio is really nice. The food (when they get it right) is great. Service is always friendly and attentive, but never overbearing. As for the not so great: The restaurant is INSANELY loud. Owner/manager take note: How many reviews have said the same thing? My ears feel like they re bleeding after 30 minutes. Install some sound deadening on the ceiling or something. Also, the kitchen is pretty hit or miss. I ve had to send back an entree. Lastly, I ve never spent less than $150 on a dinner for two.

I chose this restaurant because my friend loves oysters. We had Sam as our waiter in the dining room and he was magnificent! He recognized that I wasnt quite sure what to order because this was more high-end restaurant than Ive been to, and so he guided me based on my preferences. He suggested that I try the sea bass and I did and it was so delicious!! I have never eaten sea bass before so I had no idea how great it would taste and the way they prepared it was just beautiful. My friend was also pleased with her meal but Im not sure the name of what she got. Regarding the food, it was excellent!! Unfortunately, we were seated right by the kitchen so I cannot attest to the ambiance. My biggest complaint is that we did not get served drinks for quite some time even though we were sitting at the bar for happy hour prior before going into the dining room for our reservation. The Bartender, who was making drinks right in front of us, didnt talk to us for a few minutes and then she said she asked if we had a reservation. I said yes and we continued to not be served. Finally she asked if we had ordered drinks. I said no. She said I told her yes when she asked 15 minutes ago. I said I may have misunderstood her, even though my friend stated that she didnt ask that. My issue is that even if I did misunderstand what she asked, she still waited too long to follow up. If it had been super busy I would give more grace, but it wasnt. Maybe I should have spoken up sooner, but I was confused. Overall it was fine. I knew it was going to be expensive; I was there for the experience and I guess I was expecting more. Thank goodness for Sam!!

The service was really good. The food itself was overpriced for what you get. The calamari came with what tasted like a bagged salad. The restaurant itself was very crammed and loud. If you are going here on a date I don t recommend it since you can t even hear the other person talk.

Was told hey friends you need to pay with more than a 5 after paying with cash; it was the change on the table. After this she said you cant pay with a $5 bill; no shit sherlock. My outfit is x9 the cost of dinner, dont profile people. Good food, por service. Also, dont offer people sparkling water without telling them its an upcharge; my local coffee joint provides it for free. Great experience before this, please train your waiters on correct conduct & to manage their own tables to avoid disrespecting people on their birthday.

Showed up for our 11am brunch reservation yesterday, a busboy poured us water and then we waited until 11:25 for our waitress to come greet us, even though she walked by our table several times. The restaurant was not busy and we could see staff just chatting and hanging our by the kitchen. The waitress never apologized for the wait. After we placed our order, she went and got the order for a family of 4 that was just seated. We didnt receive our food until after the family of four had received their food and had been eating for a while. The egg white of my poached egg was raw, when I informed the waitress (after I ate the rest of my meal), all she said was okay! again, no apology. We were excited about trying this restaurant but will not go back after such horrible service.

The Fremont location is a favorite in Seattle, but service was absolutely horrendous at the Kirkland location. Sat at the bar and was completely ignored. Waited 45 minutes to place our food order after we had to flag someone down, and it wasn t that busy. Staff seemed to be in a disagreement. Continually had to ask for drinks, etc with no acknowledgment from the staff. Food was pretty good but not as good as the Fremont location. Also as others have noted the noise level is extremely loud. I hope they can improve because RockCreek truly is a great place.

Interesting takes on fish, almost over powering with something missing. Portions were very small. Sat below in the lounge which was pretty loud. The bill came and dang, $300. I was still hungry and had a second way cheaper dinner from a grocery store. Visiting the area for a wedding so most likely won t be back. Service on point though.

Terrible place! So disappointed in my first experience visiting a dining establishment in Seattle after hearing so many positive positive things. Waitresses were totally would not let us take a drink on the patio. Also they would not even service us cocktail napkins or coasters. Somehow I felt a racial vibe there seeing that we were the only non-Caucasians working and dining at this restaurant.

I really wanted to love this place, but I dont think I will be returning. The location of this restaurant is great. The interior is beautiful and the atmosphere is great. The service was good. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Where the service failed was in the reception. We had reservations. The hostess was aloof and disinterested. We were seated at arguably the worst 2 person table in the house: right next to the kitchen. We were constantly swarmed by servers fetching food. We asked to be seated at one of the several other available 2 person tables but were told they were reserved. By the end of our evening (~2 hours) none of those tables had been occupied by other guests. Very disappointed by the restaurants seating policy. That alone would make me not want to visit again. The food itself was also somewhat disappointing. The potential is there for outstanding seafood; something the Seattle area truly lacks. The menu looks spectacular; there were so many dishes that I wanted to try. I ended up ordering the smoked trout salad, the seabass lettuce wraps and the branzini. The presentation on all the dishes were excellent and the raw materials were clearly fresh but all the dishes were overly salty. The smoked trout is by definition salty but the dressing had been oversalted. The end result was not really edible. The lettuce wraps and branzini were less so but still far too salty. Of the three, I enjoyed the branzini the most.

The price-quality ratio is off. This would be a cool spot if they halved prices. The side potatoes were bar food level (no horseradish nor old bay flavors as listed, the cheese sauce was average). Definitely not worth $15. The Sole fish, while fresh, was a minuscule portion. The French nurse cocktail had a disappointing flat profile. They boast that they dont cook salmon because it is too simple and local, but flying fish across the globe doesnt make for interesting dishes. This place tries hard to look like a gourmet restaurant, dont be fooled, it isnt.

We have eaten at the Seattle location and were very excited to learn the opening of the Kirkland location. Menu and Food: Everything is ordered a la carte, and the menu is fairly extensive with many fresh seafood options. However, the dishes were somewhat inconsistent with their descriptions. For example, in the vegetable section, the roasted cauliflower was not a hot dish but a kind of salad served cold. Weird. The octopus small plate had a very heavy sauce that overpowered the protein. None of this was apparent from menu descriptions. Some dishes were good, others not so much. Service: The server was nice, but the kitchen was slow. Our table of 6 were all served starters and mains at different times. Atmosphere: This location is crazy LOUD. There s something wrong with the design of this restaurant, the layout/material of the wall, etc. We had to yell at each other and our server to be able to hear each other. Parking is really difficult, we couldn t find any paid parking spots by the restaurant it s completely full. We found parking 5 mins walk away. I would not recommend based on inconsistent food and loud atmosphere.

I ordered the NZ roughy and it was cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the Fijian Yellowfin tuna and absolutely loved it as well. Service was spot on. It does get loud inside and felt a bit cramped. Paloma cocktails were delicious and they dont hold back on the liquor - wasnt too strong, but they dont skimp on the alcohol. I would return to try more dishes as so many sounded interesting. The food: if you are used to Anthonys or Dukes seafood or Italian style seafood, it may take you by surprise that this fusion seafood is nothing like those. The yellowtail starter is just okay, its raw but lack some dressing. It is not as tasty as sashimi with wasabi. The to-go style calamary was spicy and interesting, a very small amount of calamari added with fried chips and some fresh greens. The dressing made all the difference. Its tasty but I wish it had more calamari in there. The cauliflower salad is very unique and tasty with pine nuts and thinly sliced cauliflowers. The potato buns are tasty buttery. Grouper with garlic butter sauce tasted a bit bland Overall food portion is on the smaller side. The atmosphere: modern and open, newly remodeled space. The problem is the sound. I think its because of the glass windows and tile flooring, which bounces the sound with no absorption making the place really noisy even with not many people inside. Overall its an interesting experience.

I have been here 3 times. The first time I had a female waitress and she was super personable and friendly and she made an impression. I was like, I wanna come back. Unfortunately, its been downhill from there. The second time was with a different waiter, he was fine/good. But today, this time was disappointing. The waiter didnt have much personality and didnt make any small talk. Straight to what do you want and leaving for long periods of time. And after ordering an appetizer and oysters and getting them, he was gone for a long time. Im talking 15- 20 minutes without checking in. I was planning to order more, but in that time I got full. I left disappointed because I spent over a hundred dollars and I was really looking forward to the key lime pie. The food all 3 visits has been excellent, the hostesses very friendly and kind, but the service made me disappointed. For the prices this restaurant charges, I wasnt happy with the service. If youre looking for somewhere to eat in downtown Kirkland, I recommend: The Bottle and Bull and Cactus, as both have great food and great service.

We are big fans of the Seattle location, and thrilled when this place opened up in Kirkland. We ve now been twice, both special occasions, and I don t know that we will be back, unfortunately. Not until they fix the acoustics and get some sun shades. It is SO INSANELY LOUD in there we were shouting to be heard. Even the servers had to yell. The situation is made worse by the bar, which the night we visited was populated with drunk guys taking the overall volume way up. The patio doors were open and I love the idea of bringing the outside inside except that those of us seated left of the bar were blasted by the sun. Like, wear your shades, gulping water. It just felt like too much work to eat there.

Not a great place for anniversary/dates. You pay finer dining price but not finer dining quality and service. We loved the Seattle location and were very excited to learn the opening of the Kirkland location. So when our 5th anniversary came up, we booked a reservation to celebrate here and also put that as the reason as our reservation. Food: the Chilean sea bass was not tender at all and overcooked. I ve had this dish 3 times at the Seattle location and it was my favorite. And i know how it should taste like if it s cooked the way it should. The sauce was also extremely strong in flavor it s not complimenting the fish anymore. Everything else we had also seemed to have doubled in seasoning compared to Seattle location. It s so crazy salty. Service: from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, there was no congratulations said to us at all despite we put 5th anniversary on our reservation. Other than that, the service was very courteous. Atmosphere: this location is crazy LOUD. There s something wrong with the design of this restaurant, the layout/material of the wall etc. We have such a small 2-person table but we have to yell at each other, more than once, to be able to hear each other. Parking is really difficult, we couldn t find any paid parking spots by the restaurant it s completely full with 8 more cars circling around trying to find a spot; eventually we found street parking 5 mins walk away.

Great food, location, service, but you must be able to read lips if you dine here. The noise level is insane there is a smaller bar downstairs that is intimate & quieter, we tried to move down there. It the hostess was not accommodating. Food for five with cocktails & drinks were average for Seattle $410+. I think they should be more accommodating to their customers, we won t be coming back because of the hostess not being accommodating to our elderly father who was hard of hearing too bad since we are locals in downtown Kirkland I guess customers don t come first. If I was coming with a date? Maybe.. but would try out downstairs first. (Our reservation was at 4:30 pm) no reason they couldn t accommodate us..

Excellent food and service just like the Seattle location. My only complaint is the acoustics inside are terrible. Its very hard to hear even the person sitting right next to you as the noise travels so much. Definitely not an intimate environment. I think this is due to still the hard surfaces used to create the vibe. Lots of metal, wood and concrete. Nothing to dampen noise. I noticed their other restaurant had Flint Cattle co had the same issue which also was a negative for me. Incorporating some softer materials or using some dampening material would go a long way.

Since opening a month ago, we ve already dined there twice. The dishes are so different and innovative. You won t see these dishes prepared like this anywhere else. Everything we tried was fresh and tasty. The servers are really nice and price is fairly reasonable. It can get a little loud when the restaurant fills up. There s a public parking lot nearby but it s often full. The corner street out front is also under construction and it looks like it may stay like that for a little bit. It s still easy to walk to but be aware of some street closures in the area. We ll be back again and again! What a great addition to the Kirkland dining scene.

Excellent food, excellent service. Note that when busy, this restaurant is very noisy; you will need to speak loudly to be heard by the people across the table from you. We have eaten here twice and both times were happy with every dish.

10/10 would eat here again. Leah was awesome. She made sure we had a great experience. The menu has some of the freshest and tastiest seafood we ve ever had. Local and seasonal forward. Beautiful view of Lake Washington. I highly recommended you sit at the bar have a cocktail, slurp some oysters, and chow down. We left with full belly s and happy hearts.

This place is extremely loud. I don t remember going to a restaurant and feeling the noise piercing through my ears. My husband and I decided to try it out as we heard great things about their food. Now I don t know if it s just lack of food options in Seattle that makes this place shine as the food is good but not amazing and certainly not worth the dollar amount attached to every dish. Portions are extremely small. Large plates are actually smaller than small plates just placed on a larger plate. Id recommend sticking to appetizers and small plates. Over all extremely disappointed!

Executive Chef Eric Donnelly has done it again, opening his latest culinary masterpiece, ROCKCREEK SEAFOOD & SPIRITS on the shores of Lake Washington in Kirkland. Building on the success of his flagship Fremont location and FlintCreek Cattle Company, his newest tour de force is a welcome and much needed addition to Seattle s Eastside. The restaurant is housed in the historic designated 1930 s Webb Building, painstakingly restored to its splendor by renowned architectural firm Chesmore Buck. On the modern interior, the vibe is clearly Montana fishing meets understated Pacific Northwest charm . Design elements include black metal, exposed wood trusses a homage to the past, and rich walnut accents bringing home a sense of warmth, hospitality and welcome. An expansive bar with dozens of libations overlooks the lake. An outdoor patio provides for alfresco dining during long summer evenings. Downstairs is a cozy and inviting bar with a huge fireplace, perfect to bring cheer to fall and winter. The restaurant serves Dinner, Brunch, Lunch and has a Happy Hour. At Dinner, starters include the shaved Heirloom Cauliflower with farro, pine nuts and Calabrian chili, the melding flavors enhanced by pecorino. Small plates have many gems the Hawaiian Tombo Tuna Tartare is a crowd favorite, served with a delicious blend of anchovy, horseradish, rye cracker and topped with a quail egg. Coming in a close second is Chef Eric s take on Bruschetta - Totten Inlet mussels served with saffron aioli, garlic confit and dill. The main course is where Chef Eric s skills shine to perfection. The amazing Chilean Sea Bass Provencal literally melts in the mouth, its smoky buttery flavor accentuated by caramelized shallots. Other stars include the seared Hokkaido scallops and the Baja Brown Grouper with jerk marinade and bacon-onion mojo. Leave room for deserts particularly impressive is the decadent Ricotta Apple Beignets with caramel crème anglaise and the signature RockCreek S mores, the Chef s version of Valrhona chocolate mousse with smoked meringue. ROCKCREEK SEAFOOD & SPIRITS brings it all together with its pescetarian gastronomy. Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked seafood, flavors that meld cohesively and impeccable service, all housed in a superbly architected space by the Lake. Your body and soul will be well nourished! I predict that James Beard 3-time semi-finalist Chef Eric Donnelly will soon be a winner!

The drinks, food, and service were all amazing; we will definitely be back for many meals in the future. We loved the fresh oysters, sea bass lettuce wraps, and key lime pie dessert.

Stopped in for a nightcap after a show in Seattle. The space is awesome, friendly and welcoming staff. I can t wait to check it out during the summer months. My wife and I each had cocktails, I enjoyed an old fashioned which is garnished with a fig instead of cherry, a nice unique touch. The beignets are crazy good, CRAZY GOOD. Glad this spot is here, such an awesome location. It will be a regular spot for us.

Food and service was top notch, these guys don t miss. My only gripe was that it was LOUD in there. Much louder than their Seattle spot. Maybe it was our table but it was hard to hold a conversation the entire night.
