Cozy Thai restaurant, Steps from Marina Park , Authentic Thai food made with love and traditional recipes from Northern Thailand
Came here for first time- was seated in great spot for 5- ordered 4 entrees to share. All were very good flavor and choices. Service was great and really liked that we could eat in calm and peaceful atmosphere where you can enjoy great food and company!
The pineapple fried rice was really tasty! It has a kick from the curry taste and sweetness from raisins and pineapple chops. Spicy level is also correct (not too sweet like everywhere else), though it was too many brown onion chops, in my opinion. The service was quick and friendly
We ordered pad Thai with beef for take out. The food was prepared quickly, it was pretty tasty and it had a good amount of meat in it. Good amount of food for one person and ok to share for two if not too hungry. The noodles were a little smaller than I’m used to when ordering pad Thai but I still liked them.
This place use to be really good until recently! My sister and I use to stop by often few years ago and get our usual Thai order! My friends and I have been in a few times in the last two months and it just hasn’t been the same. Service has been okay but not the best! They don’t offer club soda or sparkling water ! They can’t make anything spicy, they just dump a lot of spice on top of the food which isn’t what we want! When we ask for spicy we want it cooked into the food. I find their dishes too sweet and not authentic Thai food! Ordered dish: Pad sewee Pad Thai Garlic chicken Chicken fried rice Spring rolls Crab crackers And all of it was mild and dumped on spice It is a little cute cozzy spot I wouldn’t go back I recommend isran even if wait is long it’s worth the wait!
Highly recommend the pad thai and thai iced tea. The ginger chicken was good too. Perfect portion sizes. Family friendly. Wait time very reasonable, even with a toddler.
Very cozy restaurant, food is good and the portions are very large. I would highly recommend the noodle or rice dishes. We ordered the massaman curry which didn't taste good and came with dry rice. Other than that, the service was good. I would definitely come back again
First time trying as the other Thai restaurant was closing earlier. Had chicken Pad Kee Mao and Hanuman Typhoon (comes with jasmine rice). Both with 5 level spiciness but it felt like it was only 1 level. I like spicy food and I was expecting spicy but unfortunately they are not. The Hanuman Typhoon is flavorful! The Pad Kee Mao was so so. The interior lacks identity, but the service was quick. All in all, it was not bad.
Found this little Thai place in Kirkland. Been wanting to try it. We liked everything we ordered. They did forget to add spicy to all our dishes. But was still good. Definitely would go back. It's a very small restaurant so large parties and very difficult to seat. #thaifood #foodreview #foodie #nicelittlegem
At there a couple weeks ago. Some of the food was tasty and fresh but the chicken satay was dry and I suspect it may have been sitting around the kitchen for some time. That alone is enough to put me off from trying Hanuman again.
We have been coming to this place for over 5 years. Best food and excellent service. We keep coming over and love this restaurant.
I left a review previously however deleted so I m able to post another with a photo. The restaurant accused me of either being a competitor or never eating at their establishment. So here s a screenshot of my Uber eats order lol. The Phad Thai was extremely dry and flavorless. No difference between 1 star and 4 star either. It s very strange to accuse the customer of lying rather than accepting poorly made food went out your kitchen. Wasn t planning on returning but definitely won t be after their response. Edit: I ve read a couple of the restaurants other responses to other poor reviews and they maintain the strange hostile energy. Not a good look. Also to the restaurant, my previous comment referring to the food as buttered noodles was simply made to point out the fact it was flavorless. I did not go nuclear . Nor do I expect fancy food, what I do expect is food with flavor.
Hanuman is such a little gem! Great food, great service, go give them a try!
Good place for the lunch break.
It was our first time trying Thai cuisine. We started with a noodle soup and were still deciding on what to order next when the owner or manager, who had a bald head and glasses, asked us what we wanted to order after the soup. We told him we would let him know because we were still looking at the menu. Suddenly, we received the check. We found this rude because we had told him we would check the menu and let him know. We stood up, paid the check, left a 20% tip, and kindly informed him that what he did was rude. We had mentioned earlier that it was our first time there. When we expressed our displeasure, he responded by saying, This is America. He had an accent, and so did we. We are familiar with the restaurant system in the US, having worked in many restaurants while studying here. His behavior felt rude and racist. Despite this, we maintained our composure, paid the bill, left a 20% tip, and informed him about his rudeness. He reacted by rudely telling us not to come back again. I was respectful to him and his business, speaking quietly in the corner, but his behavior was inappropriate. He seemed very racist and rude.
My family and I have been here many times and have always received kind and quick service. Sometimes restaurants get busy and the servers lose track or can t get to you right away. That s okay. This is a simple restaurant with great Thai food. Despite other reviews, the owner is not a racist. It s sad how quick people are to label others with that word just because of miscommunication. If you re going to order food, usually you order all your food at once (except dessert). And just because a check was issued doesn t mean you can t order more. What owner wouldn t want more money? Don t assume the worst. If it s not obvious by now, the owner told us about this story. But even after I told him I would leave a good review, he said we didn t have to. His main focus is on service and food quality. P.S. The other review felt the need to complain despite this restaurant being open on Labor Day.
We came as a family of 5 & were greeted & seated very quickly. The place is small, so can probably fill up easily, but we had no issues with service during our visit. If the place is busy, its still worth a wait if you can spare some time & patience!
Good food, great service, and calming atmosphere
Came in right before closing. They kept the kitchen open so we could order. Pad Thai and Green Curry were . Great little secret spot.
Our favorite Thai place in Kirkland. The food is delicious, I highly recommend it!
Great Phad See Ew
If I order this dish, how long will it take to be ready? I dont know Edit: To the restaurant, its not about my anxiety or impatience, its that I have other important things to do, and as a potential customer I expect better than not sure when I ask about how long it takes to get an order of pad see ew which you serve to others day in and day out. Low effort, low respect, high prices. Sorry, gone to another
The food just isnt that good. The fresh rolls were mostly lettuce that tasted kind of old. The green curry was very watery, its usually a thinner curry but the consistency surprised me. The basil fried rice was actually pretty good. Cashew nut was alright. Also the dishes were kind of expensive. They do have a very cute patio and interior but I would probably not eat here again.
Small place with good food and service. A bit on the spicy side. Vegetarian options: They have a vegan menu and many vegetarian options Food : 5/5 |
I LOVE Thai food! I have had lots of Thai food at lots of different Thai restaurants, but Hanuman Thai wasnt very good. I wont be back.
Good flavor but rice was undercooked :(
Wonderful food, but one star dining experience. We were meeting new family for the first time and were excited that the restaurant was on the quieter side so we could have a nice conversation. The manager rushed us though - had us in and out within 30 mins. We asked to order more drinks & dessert and he said we weren t allowed to. He mentioned we had only ordered 4 dishes (family style dishes) for 5 people and that he needed us out. That said - food was amazing! Just don t show up hoping to have a nice dining experience! Update, since I can t respond : We spent no more than 35 mins in your restaurant. When we arrived, the restaurant was absolutely empty. You did not inform us that there were parties waiting. Despite that, you gave us less than 5 minutes to look at the menu, and were rude when weren t ready. We would have done drinks if you gave us the option. Given our party, we would have preferred to do drinks first. We had no idea what the portion size was, we hadn t ever been to your restaurant. In fact, we planned to go to another restaurant, but the wait was super long. Given your restaurant was empty, we were already hesitant. We felt pressured to order without coordinating, so everyone felt like they should just share whatever was ordered. We ended up ordering 4 dishes, 2 bowls of rice, and an iced tea for 6 people but honestly didn t even process how much we had ordered because we were too pressured to keep our order quick, given your body language. We wanted to order more food and drink for a second round since we were still hungry (15 minutes after the food came out) and were met with absolute incivility. Next time, do not seat a party of 6 if you are unwilling or have promised tables to others. Had to take off of star because of your response!
Super cozy little place. Not too many tables, very quick service, and extremely helpful staff. The food was super delicious, and I cant recommend it enough!
Cozy little family run Thai restaurant. Just ate here for the first time in several years and it was as good as ever. I lived in downtown Kirkland for several years and Hanuman was my favorite Thai restaurant of the several ones in town. It s not fancy, but the food is delicious. I really like the Cashew Chicken (called Cashew Lovers, you pick the protein) and the Crab Fried Rice.
Amazing Thai food and great customer service. This was our first restaurant experience in Kirkland, and we will definitely be back.
My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for 13 years. I ve always loved the food and staff. I bring my kids in here regularly as they love the food. We have a 2 year old who eats like a 2 year old. He loves the rice, but does drop some on the table and floor as he s attempting to spoon it into his mouth. Recently we came to enjoy food and after our meal, my husband went to pay and the manager nervously told him through mumbles that we weren t allowed to come back. He told us that the staff were not dogs, conveying that our toddlers mess was not acceptable here. We were completely shocked by his words. First off- We have never thought of them as dogs or anything but decent human beings. We have always tipped well, understanding that our toddler can make a mess. Secondly, our toddlers mess was not anything crazy! He was actually quite clean on this day. I m in shock that a business would treat a young family like this after all these years of loyal business. FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN- beware! This place is not family friendly and they will treat you poorly. Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly- if your kid makes any kind of reasonable mess, you might as well bring your own mop and bucket
Best meal I had over a week trip while visiting Seattle/Redmond/Bellevue/Kirkland! Our server was incredibly friendly. Atmosphere was wonderful. Food and service were spectacular.
This restaurant is probably a good place to visit in person, however if you plan to order takeout don t. Me and my fiancée ordered from this restaurant tonight 5/17, because wanted to try something new (our usual is Bai Tong Thai) and I placed an order for Larb, she placed an order for lemon grass chicken. Well let me tell you, the food was delivered and the amount of chicken in my Larb salad was the equivalent to half a chicken breast, there was hardly any lettuce and it was completely underwhelming, my fiancée s lemon grass chicken did not taste at all like lemon grass but rather some sort of curry and again, the amount of chicken in that dish was laughable. This was the first and last time we will order takeout from here, the portion size was so small, the food not tasty, the only thing that was good about it was the little Larb I did have had the spiciness down (very hot) Very disappointed with this restaurant and it s service, good luck to others who order takeout from here
Delicious food with large portion sizes :) Great vegetarian and vegan options available too! You will not be disappointed by this place in terms of taste and hospitality Vegetarian options: There is special vegetarian menu
Great food at a small little place. The prices are great for the area and we always have a great time.
Very good food. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere.
Wonderful experience! Delicious food, the staff is extremely friendly and calm. Had a relaxed evening at Hanuman thigh. Highly recommend!
Highly underrated. This is the best Thai food in Kirkland. I was skeptical because of the American broccoli, but the garlicky flavor of the pad see ew and the sweet heat of panang curry are up there with the best in Seattle. Service was solid too. Strongly recommend getting level 4 spice and cooling your palate with refreshing mango juice.
Good food. Friendly staff. They allowed us to use their wifi for 1 hr after eating dinner.
I am so sorry to write this, but I need to be honest really RUDE,AWFUL Chinese lady working here, does not know how to be polite with people. Just made my day worst. I would not work with employees like her who made customers ran away from the restaurant
Lovely place to grab a quick bite or to go. I really like the fresh rolls and pad Thai. JJ, one of the staff is really kind and helps people in the community which makes want to support this business.
Good food, good service. Have never had a bad meal here.
Great customer service and amazing food. Pad-See-Ew is exceptionally good. Definitely try this place
We celebrated a birthday here with a party of 11 women and it was fabulous. It s a cozy little spot with tasty food, quick and kind service. Would definitely recommend it! They were very gracious hosting our somewhat loud/celebratory group and everyone loved the food!
Yum! I got the Tom Kha with duck and it was delicious. The duck was tasty and nicely cooked. Also, the dish had the perfect level of spiciness for my relatively weak palate (although you can choose the level depending on your taste). Quite filling overall, so definitely felt like great value. Came here on a Monday evening and it was expectedly quiet, but the atmosphere was warm with the few other customers and the wonderful photo walls. Service was quick and very pleasant.
They said closing time is 8:45 PM. Being there with little girls, and watched intensely to sense when we will leave 8:15 onwards was an unusual experience (by the older guy in glasses). Food is good.
It s always great food when you visit here for dine-in. The curries are very diluted when we had ordered take out. This happened 2 months ago and this time we specifically mentioned to keep them thick but still very diluted. Disappointed!!
You thought it tasted good until you got really bad diarrhea. I guess its related to the sour and stinky bamboo shoots in the pad kee mao. Update: got it we also thought its pickled, then its probably the bean curds in Kapow Gai are undercooked? It could be problem with our order. As a Thai food fan, I must say it tastes really good, but i never experienced this level of sickness.
It was a rainy day, I walked by and stopped for a Pad Thai. They were day and I really liked the meal. As usual in this area, the rice noodles are thin not the broad ones... I can find the broad rice noodles anywhere. Definitely recommend this place.
Used to be great. Best phad thai in town with a great sauce. Now its the worst. Like ramen noodles with a different sauce and barely any sauce at all. Same with phad kee mao. Dry and like pasta. Steer clear from this place until they can figure out how to serve real thai food again.
The customer service in this place is abysmal.
Best Thai food I ve ever had!! Nicest staff - a true local restaurant
This is the worst dining experience I ever had. I ordered missamen curry(I may spell it wrong) actually it tasted good. However, some potato chunks tasted like going spoiled not all off them other ingredients are ok so I raised it up when I paid. Once the waitress went check with their chef, they told me the food is good since they cooked it yesterday. And I kept telling them that not all chunks are bad just some then she started to question me if I had this kind of curry before, or maybe I mistaken the pineapple with potatoes God! How does that possible? Then she kept emphasizing their food is good I said I was not asking a refund or credit, just let them know how I felt. I advised her not to be defensive or it will meals the customers not want to come back. Surprisingly, she just told me not to come back . My god! Pineapple and potatoes are very different. And even the curry has sour taste, it is still different from taste of spoiled food I believe everyone can tell the difference From the conversation we know that it s not freshly made food in this restaurant. I would suggest anyone who want to dine in this place to be careful. I was thinking to go back but now I won t. On top of the doubt on food quality, the service is terrible. tell a customer not to come back? Really?
If you need Thai food in Kirkland this is the spot. We did fried rice, won ton, egg rolls and a beef dish...all was excellent
Great service
Its hard to compare with Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen just around the block, but Hanuman is great in its own right. The food tastes excellent. The owner came to talk to us and suggested a new dish we had never tried, and the server was helpful in confirming vegetarian options. The Matcha Thai Iced Tea is amazing and might be even better than the traditional Thai Iced Tea! I also recommend the panang curry and pretty much any of the noodle dishes on the menu, including the Pad See Ew, the Curry Noodle, the Mama Pad, and the Rama Noodle. This place has become a favorite.
The orange chicken was delicious, some of the best Ive ever had. The lychee in the Thai iced tea was a great additional flavor that I dont usually see available, highly recommend it! Service was very good too :) Great overall experience, well be coming back
Great food! My 5-year-old daughter loves their heavenly beef
Panang was delicious, friendly, attentive staff.
This used to be a really good place, one of our favorites. Then it came under new management and it was still good. Im not sure what happened over the past year or so since we were there last, maybe new management again, but the food has no flavor. We had two noodle dishes and a fried fish. All were very bland. Additionally, we asked for medium spicy and got zero on all dishes. We also ordered the mango stick rice, usually one of my favorites. It was ok, but also the worse Ive had anywhere. All this for very high prices. I dont think well go back.
We recently ordered delivery from this place and really liked the food from this place. We had yellow curries with just the spiciness level we were looking for (they provide a wide array of alternatives ranging from no spice to very hot). Items arrived well packaged and still hot. We will definitely order again.
As a small business owner myself, I understand the importance of being friendly and accommodating to customers. Unfortunately the manager himself, simply is not. He point blank canceled my order and refused to serve me I have never seen this in my life. Why? I order a chicken Phad Thai ($15) and want to add a fresh roll at $11. It comes with Tofu so I upgrade it to the prawns for $2. His print menu reads: Rice wrapper with tofu, fresh vegetables and basil. Served with plum sauce or peanut sauce sauce.¹ That 1 he has is so small and put as a superscript character that I didn t see it. So I told him I d like the peanut sauce but I don t understand why I have to pay an extra dollar for a small to go container of peanut sauce he responds with that s how it s always been and it is one dollar if you don t want to pay it then we don t have to serve you. I went on to say you wrote your menu saying plum OR peanut sauce so it s technically your fault for not being clear. He then points to the small 1 and says it s there. I then immediately apologize and say oh I m sorry I did not see that if that s the case okay. He thennnnn goes on to say we are not engineers with a big corporation to make menus that are perfect, I wrote it myself. You think we are trying to steal from you but what is $1 dollar to us. He thennn pulls out his big board stating his open business hours that show 11 - 9:30 PM and because we stop serving at 9 pm people get mad even though we are on our knees working hard. I asked him 2 other times very clearly, okay I apologized and I m not trying to argue with you, will you not serve me? He repeatedly says no I prefer not to deal with people like you, we can cancel the order thank you. This manager (or owner if he is it) needs to learn what it means to communicate properly with customers. His reaction made it obvious, this is not the first time a customer has been upset about the way they run their restaurant. I even tried to calmly talk to him outside to try to explain why I said it and tell him how he can fix his menu and that I m seriously not against him. I am telling you because I know these things matter as a business owner and a marketing Director!! But continued to be rude, insensitive to any form of embarrassment he may have caused me, and most of all stubborn with stupidity.
Just okay and their food costs $$-$$$ and I can t believe they only have $ as it shows
We always enjoy the great food and the kind and professional service. You will not find better Thai food anywhere.
Best food quality. I am super impressed. I have been eating there for so many years.
Our favorite Thai restaurant on the Eastside. Tasty and authentic dishes served with kind and helpful service. Kid-friendliness: High chairs available.
This cute little restaurant has a good variety of food at a decent price for the area. However, the food was pretty average and lacking in flavor. We ordered dishes with spice levels ranging from 1 to 3 (their spice level scale goes from 1 to 5), but even the level 3 was barely spicy for those of us who are not used to spicy food. The crab fried rice had very little crab and tasted bland. The ka pow gai was very watery. The pad see ew was not mixed very well, and some of the noodles were overcooked and had no flavor. The duck noodle soup was the best dish of the night. The soup was flavorful, although it had a strong MSG aftertaste. The noodles were cooked perfectly, but the duck was sliced too thin and overcooked. Overall, the food was pretty below average, even for Thai food in the Washington area. The waitresses were very sweet, but I wish the food tasted better.
Papaya salad, panang curry, red curry and basil fried rice are all nice. Been here a couple of times and the quality and taste feels consistent. Friendly staff.
One of the best in town.
Very recommended!
We go here all the time and they are super nice. The quality overall is good and they are super helpful with special requests. The dine in service is always so easy and fast. Love the convenice. The golden noodles are our recent favorite. Vegetarian options: Most menu items can have tofu and a lot of the appetizers are vegetarian. Dietary restrictions: Great for vegans.
Hadnt been to restaurant for few years, nicely decorated, friendly service, new owner or management. Worth going back. Busier now that nearby Isarn closed for renovation. Will be back... Parking: Actually walked from Houghton area.
- small cozy restaurant - We came here on Thursday night around 6pm, and it has one small table for the two of us. The rest of the tables (6 of them) were taken. The waitress greeted us and we sat down, got water and ordered within 5 minutes. The ambiance is quite nice, they play piano music in the background, and people werent particularly loud. It gives a cozy vibe, which is nice. Hubby ordered green curry and I ordered the yum woon sen salad. Hubbys green curry comes with rice, and it was pretty standard. I enjoyed my salad, its a bit sour just the way I like it. The bill came out to be around $35 before tip. Even though hubby said this place isnt as good as the two other Thai places in the area, I still had a good time dining in this cozy place.
Happened to drop by today for a late lunch/early dinner (Linner? Dunch?) and was so happy I did! The restaurant has quiet, clean, and peaceful vibes. The service was great, really quick and friendly. Got the pad see ew and a Thai iced tea and both exceeded my expectations, the pad see ew was so flavourful and well portioned, and the drink was refreshing and flavourful too! This restaurant seems very authentic to me. Definitely going to come back.
Pad Thai delivery. Ordered 3 heat out of 5 and it was more like a 1. Pork was skimpy and not tender. I didn t taste traditional tamarind in the dish. It was too sweet. I also ordered a cucumber salad and cucumber was cut into cubes instead of a delicate slice. I spent $36 for pork pad Thai, cucumber salad and a side of rice. That included delivery. NOT worth it! No thank you.
Absolute gas. Have had a number of items on the menu and they do it all quite well!
I d come back for this fried chicken again! So tender, juicy and crispy on the outside. I love the crispy shallots on top and the Thai slaw salad that comes with it is refreshing with it. Lovely homie customer service and a cute little spot to eat.
It is nice and cozy restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our orange curry and thai basil fried rice. Staff is so kind and rates are decent. Would love to go again! Parking: There is a parking lot near the signal away from the restaurant. We parked the car there and walked across the street.
Horrible services and rude management. Asked for extra hot sauce and they won t give it and made a big deal. Not going again. Who can empty 2 containers hot sauce? This is pure exaggeration. I ordered 2 dishes and when I asked for one extra hot sauce small cup I get a response that is completely unbelievable. Do restaurant charge for ketchup? Why are you making such a big deal for one extra hot sauce cup. If it s a problem you tell that it costs extra. It doesn t give you the right to insult and talk badly to your customers. This manager is a real piece of work and doesn t know how to treat customers!!
Very good very amazing very nice very very
Literally writing this review in the middle of eating. EXCEPTIONAL service and equally incredible food. 6/5 stars. Will be coming here again and again.
The service is perfect and the food is good. It made my day visiting here
Went to have lunch for new year and experience was aweful.Chicken was not fresh and Thai curry was too bad. Also never had such bad Orange chicken.Writing this review pretty late cause I still regret the expense I made over such bad food
One of the best thai places I have ever eaten in. We ordered combo 3: ginger chicken and thai chilli paste fried rice. They had a personalized touch and very easily accommodated our changes. A great ambiance, economical and affordable, along with taste explosion. We wish we lived closer
Best PhadThai on the whole area - it s so good that there are never any leftovers
The only reason theyre getting 5 stars is because I cant give them 1000 stars. This is literally the best Thai food we have ever had. My partner had noodles and I had curry and they were both exceptional. Please do yourself a favor and go here!
Good service and food
Love the flavors and freshness here. Good for take away, havent been in person.
Amazing service and food. They were able to make the food both flavorful and spiced for my dishes and for kids friendly for them. Will definitely return.
Nice small hole in the wall within downtown Kirkland I had the Chicken Satay appetizer. The Peanut sauce is peanut sauce with a thai kick to it. That added curry really enhances the flavor. I had fish cakes as well with crab delight. I will be back to try more dishes.
Ordered (delivery) from the place many times. I m never disappointed! Amazing food! Highly highly recommend.
Amazing food, flavorful, tasty and the service is amazing. It s like an explosion of flavor in your mouth, will keep coming
The small Thai restaurant is amazing. I had a great conversation with the server who let me know that usually the owner is in the kitchen making sure corners dont get cut. They have fresh meat delivered literally every other day. I had the pad-see-ew with chicken and it was incredible, the noodles were perfect and the chicken was not dry at all like some places. The quality of the ingredients also stood out to me. Will definitely be driving back to kirkland for this cute hole in the wall.
This place has the best pineapple fried rice.
Food was okay, but portion size doesnt justify the price.
Food here was good. The portions are on the smaller side. Tried a variety of dishes and lunch combos. The pad thai I got was sort of dry and fairly bland with nothing in it but noodles (ie no scallions, peanut or any other color/texture)
Ever since I tried this place it has become my favorite me time hideaway. The staff and owners are all very nice and friendly and always attentive, their crispy garlic chicken and pad thai, lychee thai iced tea are to die for. And priced very reasonably. Not expensive at all. Love love this place!!!
Whole family got food poisoning. Fire everyone in the kitchen yesterday.
Absolutely love this place: great service and food!
I ve been here 3 times so far. Every time I go, I m amazed by their food and then receipt.
It s a below average Thai place for me. The usual Thai basil fried rice was not so great. Their appetizers have a thai cake and it s definitely a must try.
really rude management. Very frugal. In response to your repose: By the way, no I am not that customer, why would you assume that and write such rude comments when I am not even that person. This is exactly why the management is incredibly rude. So unprofessional of you to reply back to multiple reviews in such a rude manner instead of apologizing like any other decent business. Not a good look. Also, if that customer doesnt tip more than 10% it is not a reason for you guys to be unhelpful and rude. Crazy.
I haven t been to a better Thai restaurant. The best and I mean BEST Thai food you re going to find! Everything is amazing and JJ is the best.
Really good Thai food, the phad Thais are amazing!
Excellent food with excellent service! Thai food is not such a personal favorite of mine, but I really enjoyed Hanuman Thai Cafe. My curry dish was delicious, I took it Thai spicy and spicy it was! We were a big group and everyone enjoyed their dish. Highly recommended!
This is what Thai food is supposed to be like! The service and presentation were a wonderful bonus. We could feel the attention, care and effort put into this food. The dine-in experience was the best, having it served hot and decorated. The room itself has a vintage charm just like Thailand. We had the Fresh Rolls - healthy and truly fresh crispy veggies; the Pad Thai - spice level 4 with prawns - perfectly slippery noodles and plenty of the fixings (peanuts, carrots, green onion etc) ; the Panang Curry - Omigosh . The coconut broth with the jasmine rice - spiced just right. Lots of pick-ups for take out when we were there. We want to try everything else on the menu and will definitely be back to dine-in!
Love the food here, and the owner is so friendly!
Went multiple times and food is awesome. Papaya Salad + Fried Garlic Beans are very good. For Beer lovers Singha is a must try.
Omg. This restaurant is the only reason I order thai...the have amazing chefs & they are very customer friendly. Wow! 10 stars!!!!
Excellent Pad Thai, very vibrant selection of soups, fantastic atmosphere and pricing
The Pad Thai and Pad see-ew are miserably blend and colorless and they get zero stars. The two star rating is given to the Panang curry below average taste.
Its ok
Got the orange chicken and chicken pad basil. The orange chicken was amazing but the pad basil had too many beans and not enough chicken :(, please cut the veggies to be smaller.
I really like Thai food but this place doesn t do it all the way for me. I got the pad thai with their highest spice level and it was not spicy at all. The portion sizes are quite small for what you are paying as well. One thing that I did like about them was their service and their matcha latte.
the food was good. we got the lamb curry special and the garlic salmon, and both were really tasty. the lamb had a stronger lamb flavor than lamb at most other places. the food was a bit pricier than id expect given the serving size, though, and my girlfriend found a dead, dried fruit fly in the salmon. (the serving size isnt bad, but its not big, either.)
I think this is my second-ever negative review. It is very sad, because we gathered to say goodbyes to our friend, who is leaving the state. First of all, first Thai place Ive ever seen that charges extra (separately) for shrimps and for peanut sauce for their fresh rolls. Overall food tasted okay. Second of all, even though on Google it says open until 9:30 the owner was shooing us out (almost literally) at 8:50. He said that his job is very hard and they have so much to do, while hovering over the shoulder of my friend, while she was finishing her last bits, after a 12 hours shift at the hospital (talking about the hard work and a person who came literally from work to eat). And finally, after we politely pointed out that this isnt a very nice practice, he literally said you can give us a one-star review, we dont care, so here we are. And looking at his rude replies to the other, even slightly negative reviews, for sure this business doesnt deserve any customers. I know very well a few family-owned restaurants, where all food is homemade, that struggled a bit, especially during the COVID, but they never complained or absolutely had never been rude. Thus we always go there to support their business, but will never come back to this Thai place. EDIT(Reply to owner since its not apparently possible to respond to comments): Its still utterly unacceptable to advertise one closing time, but close earlier for convenience with no prior warning. People make plans with a certain schedule in mind. If you had told us that you were closing earlier when we came in, we would have gone somewhere else that was open longer. Instead, you pulled a bait and switch and waited until we paid(with tips, which we would not have given if we knew obviously) to tell us. Dont hide behind a veneer of concern for your staff, it was a deliberate decision on your part not to tell us youre closing early until it was too late. Business isnt about charity and kindness. Business means you offer something specific and people choose to pay for it or not. Would you like to buy something just to find out that plans had changed and you should understand that it wasnt convenient to make something exactly as you wanted and paid for? No. There is an easy fix: change your time to 9 p.m. on a weekdays, so theres wont be such a confusion and it will be easier on your staff, but you are not going to, because you are greedy and on some rare days, when there might be lots of clients, you will easily sacrifice your staff well-being and stay later. Besides, most restaurants close kitchen and begin to clean it while last customers are finishing their food, so dont tell me that you just didnt choose something that was convenient for you, trying to manipulate customers into feeling bad for your staff. It isnt our responsibility, but yours.
Fast, friendly service! The place is very clean and cozy and the food was delicious
Food is really good, but slow service.
Friendly staff, delicious food and a very relaxing environment. This is a Kirkland staple and you are missing out by not coming here!
Got take out and loved it! Portions were great and I was happy to get a real kick with the spice level. Ordered pad basil tofu at 3 star spice level and a curry with tofu at a 4 stat spice level was almost too spicy for us, but not quite! Would definitely order again
Great little Thai Cafe, fast take out. Place my order on line and was ready in 10 minutes. This is my go-to thai restaurant. Heavenly Beef is excellent dish my other favorite is Pad Se-Ew. They are taking precautions for COVID. Easy access to restraint from Marina parking lot, at the top of the stairs.
5 stars plus for this discreet Thai spot. A jewel in the middle of Kirkland lake side scenery. Portions are just right and the bold flavors spill beyond the plate creating an addictive symphony of balanced ingredients. We ordered the whole trout in garlic sauce. Usually we are not big fans of strong garlic flavor, but we took a risk and it paid off handsomely. Spicy level s are 1 to 5. We tried 4 and it was perfect.
Excellent food and great service. Food is always ready on time for pick-up, and everything weve tried so far has been delicious! One of our favorite restaurants in Kirkland. :)
First impressions are very important. Wanted to try them out and they decided to close early today. I WONT try again. Update: Decided I might have been unfair and gave another try. I called just after 9pm to order take out. Told them I would be in before they closed to pick it up. I was told they required me to pay over the phone. They refused to even consider me paying when I picked up the food. So, tried twice and had horrible experiences both times. It amazes me that on a time when Covid is causing businesses to fail they wouldnt do everything they can to give good customer service. My original conclusion stands. I WONT TRY AGAIN!!!
The food was great, but the portions are on the smaller side. Its understandable they try to make it work and still open during the pandemic. Hopefully the portion sizes go back to normal when economy comes back too
Excellent food
went with the girl to eat. ordered tom yam soup with shrimps and rice with shrimps. The food was brought quickly. After tasting the shrimp, we felt a strange taste and smell. the shrimp had a black tail. They put rotten shrimp in the soup and rice. We told them about it with respect, they replied that there was no need to pay for the soup. We also pulled out all the shrimps from the rice. We paid our $ 26 order for rice and left in a spoiled mood. I would not recommend this place.
My wife and I went on our first date here 5 years ago as she loved the food. We just went back for our anniversary and the food and experience was just as good as we remember it. The staff was great and accomodating and the food was great. Topping it all off with Mango Sticky rice was excellent. Thank you!
Lovely little gem of a place here! The portions were perfect, spice was accurate, got a 3 spicy which had just a kick of spice, not overwhelming. They have a great lunch combo special as well! Definitely try it. I had some Pad See Ew and was very pleased to find the noodles were not sticky and not super sweet as they are in some places. They also offer to put the spice on the side of the dish, if you arent sure how much you can take. Very clean and friendly staff too!
Good panang curry and papaya salad. I love how they use in season mango dessert.
Quality food. Cute staff.
We love this restaurant!! Its always been one of our favorites. Such good Thai food. Delicious mango sticky rice.
Food was good, but super understaffed for a dinner rush: it took a long time, but all the employees were working nonstop trying to fill orders. Seems like theyre under new ownership as of the last week, hopefully the new owner can get new hands on deck soon.
Consistently great food and courteous service! ^^
Food was just okay, we had to come 3 times for pick up the food, they had no idea when will it be ready, first time we went on the specified time and they just said its not ready, plus the staff was non responsive and just said we are busy.
We have been ordering from this restaurant on a weekly basis throughout the pandemic and before, sometimes twice a week because of the awesome food! The past few weeks or so, the food has been only mediocre. The salad i always get was made totally different than before and my favorite crispy garlic wings are no longer crispy, so bummed! :( Tonights salad was A LOT better after inquiring about it but order was wrong on one dish! :( I know there are new owners, maybe brought their own recipes? Willing to try again so we shall see! :) Other than the changes, its still good food, just used to the way it was before and liked it much better. UPDATE: Oh how I wanted to continue loving this place! However, tried again twice and complete fail! Most of our orders with them are $150.00+ on a weekly basis so anyone who knows me, knows how much I loved their food! Unfortunately even my son noticed on the entrees he always ordered too. I then tried delivery for lunch at work! $50 for 2 salads that ere not edible. There was so much fish sauce in the dressing, it was disgusting, we tossed them! I know it has new owners and I know they said they follow the recipes from previous owners but not sure how they are when everything is drastically different! I do wish the new owners success but its time to find a new favorite Thai place! :( I am bummed!
This is the first time we ordered from this restaurant and absolutely loved it. We ordered panang and massaman curry and it was delicious. The portion was perfect and spice level was accurate. We will definitely be ordering again.
Best Thai food in the area! I ve tried many others and they don t compare to this place. They have the best taste and quality. Our favorite dishes are the pad Thai, curry pineapple fried rice and Tom yum soup along with a Thai iced tea. Dine in experience is great every time, always receive good customer service!
Nice little cafe with amazing food. Loved the spring/fresh rolls, fried rice and mango rice desserts. Thai tea to cool down on a hot summer day! Refreshing
Very pleasant restaurant. The music was chill and relaxing. Service was extremely quick. I had my meal less than 10min after walking thru the door. The waitress was very polite and attentive. She refilled my water glass 3 times during my visit, never letting the level drop below half a glass. The good was delicious, I especially liked the way that my rice was prepared. Highly recommended!!
Quaint Thai place near the waterfront with friendly staff and great food at great prices. Highly recommended.
Great meals, good staff
They are authentic here. Excellent service, and they give you extra spicy when you ask for it. If you want spicy, they give you spicy
I am highly disappointed!!!!!! Phad thai was super dry, Crab Fried rice no crabs at all just a lot of scrambled eggs thrown in. I have eaten a lot of Thai food which tasted so delicious I m going back to my spots NEVER again will I order food here..and I left them a good tip..I could rate 0 if I could
Very nice staff and food was delicious. They have vegan and gluten free options as well and are so considerate. Loved it
Average food, a little over priced for the quality. Still good, and very grateful for the vegan options. Forgot our drinks on the to go order even when we asked if the drinks were in the bag. They were not.
Cozy warm and inviting... thank you.
We ordered 5 dishes and all of them were delicious and flavorful!
Friendly (people). Tasty (food).
Really flavorful Thai food with a well priced menu. I have been here a few times now. I have had their green curry with tofu, Thai chilli fried rice and the rice cakes. All preparations tasted very fresh, right from the kitchen. The service is also quick.
Based on the reviews, ordered pad Thai it was pretty average (probably cause we ordered spicy) Panang curry was decent and so was basil fried rice.
Very delicious food!! Amazing staff! Please eat here!!
The food is really good and authentic. The service is awesome. Nice people. A great experience!
Fantastic Thai restaurant in the heart of Kirkland. The menu includes classics and specials from the chefs, dishes are served beautifully and the service is great.
Very poor service. Pad Thai was very sweet.
Awesome service, nice location, delicious food. Seating is nice both for group and solo meals and seems to never be crowded since most of their customers grab takeout. And they pack your leftovers for you, which is always lovely.
The cashew dish was so good. I really felt like it was a good amount of food for the price, especially on a Friday night in Kirkland.
Nice small family operated restaurant. Very friendly staff and good food. I enjoy their red curry chicken dish.
Worst customer service...they just care for their business and not customers. So please watch out before going to this restaurant.Wish there was place to give 0 rating
Worst experience I have had with any restaurant/cafe... Guess what I saw as soon as I put my order of rice and chicken on a plate? An alive bug inside the bag.. Would not recommend to anyone, 0/10.
Horrible service. My food arrived with an alive bug inside the meal. Would not recommend, 0/10.
I love this place dearly! Great offerings, good portions. They have all the classic thai fare, along with signature protein dishes (Heavenly Beef, so good!). Sadly I am giving 3 stars today, because I just ordered to-go. My noodle dish was supposed to be Medium spice...well, I ended up crying from the spice! It was HOT. Nothing wrong with spicy, I just can only handle in smaller doses personally - not for a whole meal It is a bit frustrating, thats all. I am aware that spice level consistency is a general issue for most Thai places. Please give this place your business!!
Pad Thai tasted like DEAD ANIMAL!!!! Worst Thai food ever, what a bad experience it was
Horrible customer service and food is way too salty
First time trying. Very tasty, and was ready very quick when I ordered online. Staff was very friendly as well! :)
Food had a lot of room for improvement. Also, our server ignored both the spicy level request and an add-on ingredient. My friend ordered a Pad Thai with Tofu and Shrimp (the menu says that Tofu is free and Shrimp is an extra $5). Apparently, the server only heard Shrimp, and thus, my friend got her order without Tofu. The server said that they didnt hear the word Tofu and that itd be an extra $3 to add it to the order, even though Tofu is free for this dish and that the server was the one who made the mistake by not writing down the order correctly. My friend just ended up paying the $3 extra just to stop the discussion and to move on, but we are not coming back.
The portions can improve.
We order takeout, had to wait 45 minutes. When we got home to eat the food my wife food was extremely salty, couldnt eat it and had to throw it away. When we called the restaurant to let them know that my wifes meal was ruined and that it was salty, they told us that our food is not salty,. I told him I can pull it out of the trash and give it to them to try, but she just told us again that we are wrong in the food we got is not salty. These people clearly dont care about making good food, theyre just in it for the money.
The food is great. however, given the covid situation, their not enabling contactless payments, multiple people handling credit cards with no gloves on, as well as pens just lying abut to sign the cc receipt, without clearly marking the clean ones in a separate holder is a definite risk factor.
One of the best Thai food in town
Second time Ive eaten here. Definitely not worth my $60. Food horribly GREASY and salty which clearly tells me the cook needs cooking lessons! Panang beef curry was watered down. I question whether they have placed adequate safety measures to protect customers and staff from covid19. I dont plan to return anytime soon.
Genuine and delicious. I was missing the food from Thailand, and this was as authentic as it gets.
Online order. See-ew is very tasty. Some of the best Ive had in WA state. Affordable and friendly as well.
Excellent food every time! We are committed to helping this family run business stay afloat . Please bless them with your order.
I got the Massaman curry with tofu, and it was delicious.
Pad Lee Mao is , not big fan of Duck salad though, too sour dressing and duck meat has a lot of skin on.
Orange chicken lunch special - always good!
