Loved checking out this place. Great service, and even better food! We got two appetizers and one main to split between two people and still had leftovers; we would have finished these but were comfortably full and had to leave for our next engagement. Echoing others, you get big portions for a great price. We will definitely be returning. :)

Delicious spot downtown Kitchener. We have been twice, and had tonkotsu ramen both times. This time we also ordered the karage to start. It was all amazing. Broth and vegetables were perfect in the ramen, and the karaage was so crispy and tender on the inside. Service is attentive and very kind. Check them out!

It doesn't get better than this folks! A true mom-and-pop shop, the owners were so kind and gracious. The service was excellent and the food came quickly. As you can see, the portion is incredible for the price. The taste did not disappoint! The katsu was perfectly fried and the coating had an awesome crunch. The sauce they served it with was delicious and the pork itself was moist. All of the sides were great. I will definitely be going back when I have a craving for Katsu. Go support them! :D

King Katsu restaurant is a must-visit for ramen lovers. Their tonkotsu ramen features a rich, creamy pork broth that's incredibly delicious, while the shio ramen offers a lighter, flavorful experience. Both dishes showcase high-quality ingredients, making it a great spot for a satisfying meal.

Staff was absolutely fantastic when we went in. We weren't able to get sushi rolls as they ran out so make sure you go early enough. We had the chicken and also the chicken fried rice and it was still very tasty. If you're visiting Kitchener downtown, would recommend this spot!

This was my first time at King katsu and I enjoyed it very much! The food was delicious, it was really my first time with Korean food and it was amazing. Tteokbokki was super delicious, as well as the ramen and the takoyaki. Prices were great too for the generous portion that they served. The atmosphere was also super cool, the guy who served us was very polite and the place was very clean and pretty. Would 100% recommend 💕

Brand new asian restaurant that packs a wallop into a small space. The menu is a reasonable size, offering a handful of options in each of four categories. Prices are very reasonable considering the huge portion sizes. $15ish for an entry platter, $8ish for an app. Everything was cooked to perfection, seasoned well, and served with enthusiasm. The fried foods weren't oily at all. A terrific addition to the Duke Food Block

What a wonderful new addition to downtown! The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. The Kimbap was so pillowy, the gyoza had great flavour and was cooked perfectly, the miso ramen and Tonkatsu were so so so delicious. Word to the wise: come hungry. Portion sizes are solid and we left with a takeaway bag.

Very disappointing experience. Me and a friend decided to try this place out, and had high hopes. The service was excellent, and the takoyaki was delicious, but the meal went downhill from there. My kimchi fried rice was decent at best, and the egg on top wasn t very good. It was served with something pickled, which tasted okay, and a bland miso soup. My friends chicken katsu wasn t much better. To make matters worse, we started getting stomach problems directly after eating. Will not go again.

Must try Tteokbokki, Pork bone soup. Its a real taste of korea. Other foods are good enough. Service is great. Clean restaurant. (I dont usually leave reviews, but Im leaving this. The taste was so good that it wasnt too spicy. The waiting time was okay. When you eat pork soup with spicy seasoning, it reminds me of soju. The pork cutlet and cheese cutlet were soft and good from the old days. The pork cutlet tasted good, they were very friendly, and the bathroom was clean and nice.

It was the best pork soup I could find in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. If you have recently come from Korea, I think you might agree with me. In summary, it was cheap, plentiful, and delicious. The downside is that it took a bit of cooking time. The taste of pork soup is what you would expect from the sundae soup commonly found in Korean restaurants, minus the sundae (similar to Busan pork soup, Miryang pork soup, etc.), and the meat is gently and thinly sliced. It is not the meat with soft bones that is commonly used in sundae soup. It contained meat that seemed like it would be okay to use it in dishes like tonkotsu ramen. The salted shrimp and seasoning that came with it also went well with the soup. They gave me kimchi and it went well with the pork soup. We also ate pork cutlet, which is the style of pork cutlet you get at delicious street snack bars in Korea. The thickness of each piece of meat was not measured with a ruler, but it was approximately 0.5 cm thick, and the batter was about half the thickness of the meat. It wasnt the thick meat and thick batter that has been popular recently, but it was very crispy and delicious. It tasted like what you expect from pork cutlet. The downside was that it took a little longer to cook. It seems to take about 10 to 15 minutes from ordering to the food coming out. I dont eat out much, so it might be a typical Canadian restaurant cooking time, but compared to the cooking speed at a Korean soup restaurant or pork cutlet restaurant, it took a little longer. Since the menu is so diverse, I thought it might be because there was a limit to what could be prepared in advance (this is entirely just speculation on my part). The food was very delicious, so as someone from Korea, I hope they continue to do business for a long time. Compared to other Korean restaurants in the surrounding Kitchener-Waterloo area, the menu is very diverse, and the prices are very affordable compared to the excellent taste and service. Since the menu seems to change often (I dont think Ive seen the kimbap mentioned in other peoples reviews on the current menu), Im also writing down my thoughts. While eating pork soup, I thought to myself, If sundae is added to this, it would be sundae soup. I dont know much about Canadian laws, but I thought it would be a perfect Korean side dish if eaten with alcohol. The menu is very diverse, so I thought it would be possible to satisfy many peoples tastes, but it would not be easy to manage the ingredients. It may seem like there is less unnecessary talk, but I would really appreciate it if you could provide delicious food for a long time. I would like to visit again.

Amazingly good! Great service, delicious food, and quite a good amount of food for the price; I couldnt finish mine and had to take half home with me. The pork itself was crispy in the best possible way and the sauce was sooooo gooood. They must make it in house because Ive never had a katsu sauce like this in my life. Even the sides of cabbage and corn were good, and the radish kimchi was 10/10. I cant wait to go back again and try the Ramen and the cheese stuffed katsu. Honestly, this is my favourite type of restaurant: just a handful of menu items all done really, really well. If youre trying to decide where to eat tonight and want something new, you absolutely HAVE to try this place. Parking: Right out front is the LRT so youll have to park on another block nearby and walk. Theres also the Duke St. Parking Garage a short walk away. Luckily I live close enough to DTK that I dont need to drive.

Portions are generous, pork cutlet is probably one of the better ones in KW area. The sauce is probably the best part. My go to place for a korean pork cutlet

I ordered the tonkatsu and takoyaki for takeout. Tonkatsu sauce has a good sweet and savory flavour. The chicken itself is cooked well, has some crisp but not an overpowering crisp texture and, they provide a good portion of the chicken! The rice is fluffy and also cooked well! The cabbage salad is fresh and has a nice dressing sauce that isnt too strong of a taste. The corn tastes like any other corn, so dont expect much from it. The kimchi raddish has a good sweet and spice flavour. The takoyaki has good texture, the batter has a good mush and you also get that chew from the octopus Overall, the food was delicious. The place itself looks very clean, too! Looking forward to try other items in the future

* Edit: updating to bump up the stars from 4 to 5! I guess they check their reviews as there was no more hair on the meat in the pork bone soup!!! This place has just become one of our fav in the region and we have already ordered 3 times from here. Donkatsu is the best in the region and they make good broth for ramen and soup So glad that we have another Korean restaurant opened in our region! Tried their Tonkatsu and pork bone soup and they both were decent but the hair on the meat .. was I spotted quite a few which was not pleasant. The amount of sauce that comes with Tonkatsu could slightly be more also. We didn t spread and dip while eating but it wasn t enough to cover all the pieces. It was definitely a positive experience tho! Would love to come back to try other menus

Unfortunately no stars isn t an option. Probably some of the worst food I ve ever eaten. Took over two hours to deliver through Uber eats, hot food was cold and cold food was lukewarm. Even the vegetables in the dishes were not fresh. Portions were very small. Very disappointed as we ve been looking forward to trying this place. Honestly wouldn t bother wasting your time. Truly unsure if this was an issue with Uber eats and ordering delivery???

My corn was cold, like fresh out of the can cold, my rice was fresh out of the pan with no seasonings at all, I had a random bowl of broth, and some sort of gross spicy tuber? The katsu was the only good thing. Service was okay... Water wasnt cold. Idk if this is how Korean food is supposed to be, but if so... Not good.
