My wife picked this place based on 4star reviews to take me out for valentines day Sat, Feb 11th. The lady serving us wore an old worn out food stained sweatshirt hoodie. Food tasted like it was old re-used oil and the food was not fresh. Couldnt finish eating the egg role it tasted so old and the oil everything was made with was disgusting. Compared to other Chinese places I visit, this one ranks the lowest so far. Cute seeing thier children running around the restaurant but clean your carpets. Some obviously like the food here based on the reviews, but definitely below the standards of others Ive been too. And get a new wordrobe please. And while we were trying to eat the food, it almost sounded like an argument over the phone with someone who took an order take-out and wasnt happy and the lady sounded like she was literally arguing with her on the phone. Wow.

Good food, Im a fan of the beef noodle (with the small noodles) its a good meal for 2 at a good price.

I order from Lucky Garden every now and then but tonight I ordered for pick up ! Let me tell you, the restaurant got a renovation done. It looks beautiful and the food we ordered tonight was amazing! I dont know how they made their Chinese food taste even better than it was before, because I liked it before too! But even my kids were talking about how yummy everything tastes! We ordered -chicken fried rice, chicken wings and chicken balls. Thank you for a delicious meal!

Best food in kitchener

I ve been coming here for at least 17 years .. the food is so tasty. I even moved to Toronto and Still make it to kitchener to eat this food. The fried rice, chow mein, chicken balls, sesame chicken and mixed vegetables are delicious! My whole family eats here as well. They deliver quicker then the times given as well.. I love this place. I could just keep eating it. Also, they ve never made mistakes on my order which is a plus.

The quality of food has become very bad, the vegetables and shrimp used to be with broccoli and nice big shrimp now it s small shrimp with just carrots, celery and 4 pieces mushrooms and sweet peppers, the wings were fried in old oil, you can taste it. The standard of this restaurant has dropped. I refuse to buy here again.

We always enjoy the food from Lucky Garden. Weve been coming here for 16 years. Yes, there have been some mix-ups in the past and some food may not have been to our liking (example, too much broccoli and not enough beed in the beef with broccoli dish), but over the past three years weve seen more consistency in quality, taste, and value. Their dine-in decor is not fancy; its functional. We generally opt for take-out anyway. Most dishes are great as leftovers.

The food was not good. the rice tasted like stale water, the wonton soup had no flavor, unless you like stale water. Couldnt really chew the sweet and sour pork, it tasted reheated. When I called, not to get a free meal - to let them know the food wasnt good - the owner/cook asked me what was wrong, I tried to explain and he argued with me and told me I was harassing him LOL. At that point, I hung up. We didnt even eat the $50 worth of food, its in the trash. Was just letting them know, the few times Ive ordered in the past years the food was terrible. Lived in this area for 30+ . A little customer service goes a long way...

I order from Lucky Garden Restaurant on Fathers Day. Order a Group Dinner 3 with a few extras such as an extra Egg Roll, Pork Lo Mein. The food sooo good! The chicken fried rice was not over cooked, the vegetables were crisp, not mushy, and the chicken balls were not overly breaded:). The person who took our order was nice. Our order was delivered hot! and within the time they said it would be. You can pay for your order by Debit at your door. We will be ordering from here again.

We have been ordering from Lucky Garden for years. Tonight was our first bad experience! The delivery driver complained about how far he had to drive! How is that my problem? Then he had NO change!! We will never order from Lucky Garden AGAIN!

Its was are first home delivery. Food food was hot and fresh made with top quality ingredients. Definitely no complaints from this gang. Looking forward to dining in. This are new number one Chinese restaurant. Definitely worth checking out. See you soon.

As someone who lived in China Town in Toronto for 4 years, and loves all sorts of Chinese food, I can say this place has some great dishes. Ive only ordered from here once, but I got the Szechuan Chow Mein, Hunan Beef and Spicy Chicken with mixed Veg. These dishes were all great. I cant speak for their non-spicy food (yet), but at least if youre ordering off of the spicy part of the menu, these guys are great. And the prices are excellent. This is maybe my favourite Chinese place in Kitchener so far.

I will not be coming back to this place after reading a review on Facebook about someone calling in to tell them a dish was not tasting good and they yelled and laughed at her. That is not right and I will not go back to this place because of this. Smarten up places

I have been ordering from this place since 1982 and its still my favorite for Chinese food. There are 3 Chinese restaurants closer than Lucky Garden, but for me its worth the extra drive.

Always have a great service and delicious food

they dont specify vegetarian or not and are unwilling to fix their menu or their mistakes, sent meat to a vegetarian and then told us it was our fault. Very disappointed it used to be my go to restaurant.

The food is now and forever some of the best food I ever had. The Beef Lo Mein always fills my belly and my heart. This is a wonderful place to eat.

Disgusting food. Egg roll is salty... spare ribs is just fried bones.. fried rice is swimming in grease. I took one bite of each thing and had to throw the food away. My stomach still hurts. When I told the owner nicely what is wrong with the food, he screamed at me and told me ITS NOT MY PROBLEM. I said it is. This is your restaurant. Once again.. disgusting. Never go. Zero stars.

This is a hidden gem. Ive been getting.my take from Lucky Garden for years, and its a nice quiet spot to have lunch or dinner too. The quality is always excellent, and the service is friendly and fast. Just finishing an order of cantonese chow mein now - delicious with lots of pork, beef, shrimp and veggies. Best lemon chicken in town, and the jumbo breaded shrimp is a generous dish of crunchy goodness. Hot and sour soup is tasty and tangy and the wonton soup is also very good. Family run - and honestly one of the best in KW.

I have been ordering from here for years well tonight will be my last night! I always get the same dish without sauce as i dont like the sauce. They are refusing to do this now as it wrecks the taste. I tried to explain putting the sauce on actually wrecks it for me as i dont like it and they replied with we dont want to wreck the flavor for you so we cant do that. How does that make sense when i dont like the sauce which is why i order without so thank you for actually wrecking my meal.. one pissed off unhappy customer

The worst chinese food we have ever had!!greesy.....double fried. Chicken balls were hard as a rock. Wonton noodles were in the cantonese chow mein - did we eat someone elses left overs??? Took the food back next day - it was a struggle - to get my money back. Very rude woman owner!!!

Been going here for years and I have never changed my order, food was great years ago and people there were friendly.. But as time got older the people there got more ignorant and food all of a sudden on theyre days are more pricey.. Asked for prices than and was told if Im not going to order than f*** off? Poor customer service cause they swore at me and told me I would regret this.. ...well long and behold, there selling bumpers out the back of their restaurant, Would I recommend this place? Nope unless you want to be overcharged and than insulted.

We have been getting take out for 7 years. Never a bad order. I would drive across town to get Lucky Garden . We have tried other places. Priced the same but does not taste as good. Service is top notch. Food is 2nd to none. Keep up the good work.

i have been going here for 2 years for my food once a month never a problem until tonight the only thing that was hot was my soup there was not honey garlic on my ribs the were sitting on a piece of lettuce everything else was cold so i spoke to the manager and she said well there is nothing i can do about it but give you a free honey garlic ribs with your next purchase maybe take back the cold food and replace it

Despite the fact that this is a family-run operation and sometimes the family sits in the dining room and makes a eggrolls Ive never had a bad meal here.

The hazelglen lucky garden I have to say is most likely the best Chinese food Ive ordered from!!!! always fresh tasty food I know these guys and gals work extra hard to put these meals together for my family as it shows with the quality of food..... They always say 45 min or an he for delivery and its always 25 30 mind to eat their absolutely delicious food. The people giving bad reviews??? I dont know what happened to you guys but its never been my experience at Hazelglen Ever!!!! 7 stars easy happy customer as always the case.

I just ordered ginger beer from here for the first time, which has been my favorite dish for many years. This dish was not what I was expecting. All it is is large, unchewable slabs of meat with no real sauce on it and mixed in with vegetables. I called and let them know that I was disappointed because this was not what I was expecting and I cant chew it and the response I got was that this is how they have always cooked it, they do not care if it was not what I was expecting and cant eat it and will not allow me to replace it with another dish. I now do not have dinner for the night and am out $10. I will never be ordering from here again. Worst service I have ever received.

False Advertising. Poor customer service. Pretty much the same experience as Annie Whittle. I ordered vegetable chow mein for pickup only to find that there were only steamed vegetables with no actual chow mein noodles. I called up the restaurant to let them know there was a mistake. Turns out, their chow mein doesnt actually have chow mein noodles. They use bean sprouts instead. I explained that we ordered the dish under the assumption that it would actually come with noodles, and asked for a container of noodles to eat with my veggies. She explained that the dish was correct and that they would do nothing about the absence of noodles. We had a pretty lengthy back-and-forth In which I argued false advertising and she argued that the dish was correct. In the end no compensation was given and I was left with a $7.25 container of steamed vegetables

Took almost 1.5 hours to deliver. They delivered the wrong order and threatened to murder my wife. (Just to clarify in response to the only positive review, yes, this is the Kitchener location with the mentally unstable owner whom the cops had to deal with). I called up, informed the owner that we had received the wrong dish, he responded by yelling racial slurs and swearing at me for a solid 1.5 minutes. Obviously I hung up. No more then two minutes later he called me at my home just to yell and swear at me more, so I hung up. Four minutes later and we are back on the phone for a final chat. He is informing me (between his racial slurs and profanity) I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE, I COMING TO GET YOU, I GET YOU AND YOUR WIFE, I COMING FOR YOU RIGHT NOW, I AM GOING TO SLIT YOUR THROATS I hung up and promptly called the cops. They are now dealing with him, turns out screaming death threats is illegal. So in summation, I would say terrible food, service and lacking professionalism to an extreme. I would not recommend.

I only have nice things to say about this place, the food is amazing! The workers are amazing, sad they are closed on Mondays but thats the only thing I find disappointing about them lol

I am wondering if you all have the right restaurnat. Are you are referring to the Lucky Garden Restaurnat In Kitchener, Ont. Not the one on Bloor St in Toronto? My wife and I go to the Kitchener location quite frequently for their food. Heck we even lived in London, ONT and drove the hour back to Kitchener just to have the jar do wings and chow mein. Sam (the cook rocks) I have not found a better jar do wing anywhere. If you havent been to the Kitchener location you should try it. I am trying a delivery order tonight and if it gets messed up I am certain the quality of the food will make up for it.

Im at a bit of a loss on this one. Ive ordered here once before and it was average at best. I tried to order just now and I see that its free delivery for $25 or over. So I find three things that brings the total to that and call. I confirm with the young, most likely great at her job, order girl that I want to know if I qualify for the free delivery. She says that it is now $30 or over for free delivery and that Im a dollar under. I then ask her how much all the items I just ordered are and every one was a dollar+ more expensive. So now Im obviously quite annoyed because your website should correctly say what your prices are. So I say to her, listen I understand that websites may take a while to update but I called you with the impression this would cost me around $25+tax and tip. Now its sounding like this will cost me over $29+delivery+tax+tip. Considering that your website is wrong at least four times Id like the delivery charge waived for my order of almost $30. Ill have to ask the boss. Entirely understandable. So he comes onto the phone and immediately starts with whats the problem. I explain that his website is extremely inaccurate, Im trying to order a sizable order, and that Id like the delivery fee waived for this order because of just how wrong their site is, and also cause I live 3 blocks away and dont want to be charged $4 or so for delivery. He raises his tone slightly and says that the website has been wrong for a long while. So I ask if hes saying that he wont cover the delivery fee and he says no and then he hangs up on me. Im sitting here absolutely baffled by the whole exchange. I called purely because of Deeanns recommendation and actually ordered those two items. What a mistake. Should have listened to everyone else. Owner is obviously absent-minded to let his website be incorrect on virtually every item and deal and rude to those who point out such things.

The worst Chinese I have ever tasted. The Singapore noodles tasted like chicken noodle soup. Way to much salt. The spring rolls had a metal taste my wife and I both spit it out. The Sesame chicken is just cartilage and batter.
