Homemade All Day DimSum全日点心
Have looked forward to checking this spot out after my friend moved to Kitchener. Pretty good dim sum
The food was delicious but a little on a higher price side. Service was good and the food came out in good time but not instantly. A good sign that it's made fresh. Certainly the taste of the food indicated that as well. There wasn't anything we ordered that we were unhappy with. The sesame seed balls and cheung fun rice rolls were delicious and one of the best we've had. The siu mai are really large. There is a charge for tea. The place has a typical and traditional Chinese restaurant vibe. A good amount of parking can be found around back. We would come back to this place!
Had early dinner here this evening. Restaurant itself is nice, seemed fairly clean and nicely decorated. Service was standard. Food was not great. Charge for tea, no water offered. Shrimp rice rolls and dumplings had a mushy consistency and did not seem fresh, egg rolls tasted like they were fried in old oil. Noodles with beef, squid tentacles, rice wrapped in lotus leaf and pork steam bun were decent, but have had better. Not worth the almost $100 I spent. Definitely better dim sum places in KW area. Would not return.
Busy place, food portions are big and excellent for price, mango pudding is tasty. I didn’t like the service maybe because they were busy. They charged for the tea although we thought its free as we didn’t order it.
Golden Dynasty Restaurant, located in Waterloo, Ontario, offers a delightful dining experience for those seeking authentic Chinese cuisine. Known for its wide variety of dishes, the restaurant serves classic Cantonese and Szechuan fare with a focus on fresh ingredients and rich flavors. The dim sum, available daily, is a standout, featuring favorites like shrimp dumplings, BBQ pork buns, and turnip cakes, all prepared with great attention to detail. The atmosphere is cozy, with traditional décor that adds to the authentic feel of the place. While the restaurant tends to get busy during peak hours, the staff remain attentive and friendly, ensuring that service is efficient. The menu is quite extensive, catering to a variety of tastes and dietary preferences, including vegetarian options. Portions are generous, making it ideal for sharing with family or friends. Prices are reasonable, offering good value for the quality and quantity of food provided. Whether you're there for a casual lunch or a larger family dinner, Golden Dynasty provides a satisfying dining experience. The combination of friendly service, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere makes it a must-visit for anyone in the Waterloo-Kitchener area craving traditional Chinese cuisine.
I'm glad that this dim sum place exists in town. I've been to the other one nearby, it's just not as tasty as I expected from a dim sum place. Basically I love all the dishes I tried here (didn't take pictures as my family usually visit here, I was coming here to try and aiming for giving reviews, so, I shouldn't take this for granted, shall I come back again, I'll update with pictures and give a proper review on the dishes I tried). All dim sum tasted just like those I tried in Asia, except here, the size of the pieces are bigger! Can't wait to come back again! Edited on 9/14 with some photos, also I wanna help them clarify that, seeing a comment about how the waitress didn't check on the customers about the meal, and just divided the bill into half as requested for separate bill, please kindly note that it is not Chinese culture to check on how customers feel about meals, and also, for customers to pay for their own bill. If you want to pay just for your food, you should tick the dim sum and order other food separately.
Nice dim sum place. Deep fried squids and rice rolls are my favourite. Cantonese fries noodles looked very good as well.
We bought three combination dinner for 4 people. A , B and D. Portion was well enough for 4 people. Fried rice and chow mein taste was good. Meat ball taste was good but contains very less chicken mostly its covered with flour. Fried chicken was little rubbery. They might need to take care of that. Price are Moderate ,not expensive.
The service attitude is extremely poor. There is only one waiter who puts on a bad face and ignores anyone on the phone while talking on the phone.
Taste so poor, not fresh
Good selection of dim sum and Cantonese stir fries. My first choice for Chinese food in K-W Wheelchair accessibility: Stairs at entrance so not too friendly for folks with mobility issues
Terrible avoid!
Wayyyy too much salt. For this price I would expect a little better quality. All four Hagao s wrap was broken. Very so so service despite not many customer.
The vegetables are good, but dim sum seems like a little bit salty
The food was crappy, the stripes were not fresh and had a weird taste that even their heavy black pepper dressing couldnt cover.
The food was ok, not everything seem to be home made. Noodle portions are big but a bit oily for me Food
Food was Cold And Chicken was Not fully Cooked Very Disappointed Was here so many times befor and never had a problem I dont know if changed owners or what but wont be returning here
Since it was just supper+ for me, got some super freshly made dim sum. Yum
Large group, mixture of dim sum and entree items. Staff stayed on top of everything. Food was good, store was clean, menus were easy to understand. Ill return. Parking: I snuck my bike into the cafe next door, since they were closed.
Great service, only took 15 minutes for take out but I was given a dessert for waiting, both soups on menu were great
This small restaurant offers you a limited Dim Sum menu but with excellent flavor and freshness. The dishes I ordered were all exquisite. The portion sizes were larger than the average in several countries I have tried Dim Sum, including Hong Kong itself. Everything came out freshly made and very hot, fully recommended
I went one Saturday with my friend Surge. Very pleased. Food was good. Nice to have a Chinese Restuarant in the Heart of the City. The waitress forgot to ask how is everything during the meel. When I went to pay I said I wanted 2 separate bills. She divided it half. That was kind of weired. Me an my friend did not order the same thing.
Good authentic Chinese food Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian dishes but eat meat losers Parking: If the restaurant is busy parking is difficult Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair access at front door, not sure about other entrances
First time here and all 5 dishes we ordered were top knotch even including the absolutely delicious chicken feet. The only reason for a 4 star over a 5 would be the quantity of said chicken feet which we decided it was too small (2) coulda been a few feet more.
Sorry, really wanted to like this place. Dim was ok, not all dim sums are good. We also ordered other dishes and quality was uneven at best. I suppose it is much better than your average Canadian-Chinese restaurant.
Good food. Good service. Most of their business must be takeout because dine in is neglected and dirty.
Best Dim Sum in Waterloo!
Great service! The food is authentic, I highly recommend the Cantonese fried noodles . I will definitely eat it again when I return to Li
Nice foods, nice atmosphere, nice services, visited twice during our 6-day stay at Waterloo
Very friendly staffs with great smile. Guangdong fried noddle is wonderful love it.
Authentic and overcooked cuisine. With a little older decor, I could tell by the scent as we walked in that the place was authentic. Unfortunately, much of our Dim Sum was somewhat overcooked. The food was quick, but a little more oily than necessary. My favourite dish was the preserved egg congee.
Very traditional Hong Kong-style taste, the fried dough sticks are one of a kind. Claypot rice is also delicious
I ordered two dishes Vegetable lo mein Chicken fried rice The lo mein noodles were actually cantonese chow mein, far too wet. The rice is instant. I was not impressed at all.
Absolutely excellent dim sum spot. Amazing service, great decor, and delicious food. In particular, the rice rolls, buns, and fried fish were delightful. Would recommend to anyone.
A Chinese foodie from Markham - finally found a decent Dim sum spot in KW! Authentic taste and menu. Would definitely come back.
Great dim sum! Everything was fresh and generously portioned.
It is a dim sum restaurant in Kitchener. It is a generally decent Chinese restaurant. It is a place where many people enjoy together. The parking lot is large and convenient. There is also a walking course nearby.
Great dim sum
A good spot for real Chinese food.
Very tasty, reasonably priced
Delicious dim sum. Very intimate dining experince inside. Would for sure come back
It s ok and there are definitely better dim yum places than this. The menu is confusing. The tea is not free.
Yummy food, good service - will try again.
Fantastic Dim Sum at a reasonable price! Have enjoyed Dim Sum here for the past several years and they never disappoint :) Highly recommend the curry fish balls, steamed custard buns and bbq squid tentacles!
Have been a few times for dim sum. Always quick, food is tasty. Employees are friendly, and they offer a cash discount as well. Dinner is pretty good too!
Food is the main focus here. Mostly come here for the dim sum and wok items. They do a decent job for all the popular menu items, general quality has dipped over the years though. Service can be a bit disjointed but the servers are nice when they are around especially when it gets busy.
I am always greeted with a smile and a heartfelt hello. My order is always right and made quickly.
Dim sum was absolutely delicious! The price was fair. The portion size was pretty big. Could be cleaner because one time we went the floor wasnt very clean. Still overall a really good place.
Not sure if I was at a restaurant or a day care center with childrens toys close to kitchen area. Wanted to ask a staff member about the menu and she just looked at us and walked away, no response so we left. Never going back.
Great food. Alright Service.
Dry fried rice noodle is outstanding, other dim sums are on average.
Was craving dim sum and stumbled upon this place. A good selection of dim sum and fresh seafood. Prices were really reasonable as well. This is the place where Asians go for their authentic food. Highly recommend! Bring your kids to watch the live fish, crab and lobster !
Great Chinese food and they had large menu selection. I will definitely be returning!
Great place and yummy dim sum! Definitely get the egg yolk bun, its super good. Also the beef noodles with vegetables came wet not dry but it was a delicious surprise.
Food looked attractive and was tasty, prices were reasonable, the floor was nice and clean. Would come again!
Cheap but delicious!
Love the variety, its perfect for my family as some like the breaded chicken dishes and I love the dim sum.
The halls are narrow, so there is limited space for movement. When we came in we were being walked to our table and a server came out from the kitchen behind us, understandable that she wanted to get to the table quickly but we had to follow the pace of the hostess in front. The server hovered over my 4yr olds head with a hot tray of food and was literally pushing at our backs. (it was too narrow and limited space for me to stop and be able to pick her up to walk faster) When we got to our seat that same server nudge myself and daughter aside to place the food for the table next to us. Even they were audibly shocked by this. They later then brought more food to the table next to us and rested the food tray on the back of a chair, but there was a child sitting in that chair. The parents actually put their hand out under the tray to make sure it wouldnt tip over. The food was alright. Nothing special or super delicious. Greasy more than anything. The sauces were strange tasting. The tables were never cleared during the meals and no check ins happened for us to order more drinks or other foods. Would never go here again and sincerely would not recommend it. Kid-friendliness: DEFINITELY NOT since they barrel roll over the kids to get them out of the way and dont seem to care about holding HOT food trays over seated children so they can put food on tables.
I have heard that the owner treat most of her staffs like slave, and she took all the tips . Not for the first time but a lot of students from Asia need money and have to work in very bad condition there , they posted in the group to warn other not to work there
This is my go-to place for authentic Chinese food. We love the lobster with ginger and garlic. The beef brisket with tofu and the dim sum. Parking: Go behind building across from trail
The lobster was very fresh, but the noodles were too soft. There was a compulsory tip of about 15% when checking out. They didnt tell me in advance when ordering. It was like robbing me of money. I came here often before, but I wont come again in the future.
We come here for the dim sum. Best dim sum in K/W!! Reminds me of when I lived in Toronto. Wish there was a little more variety of dim sum items BUT what they do have is delicious. I could honestly eat there 3 to 4 times a week. Service is quick and staff are very friendly. Restaurant is your typical Chinese style restaurant, brightly decorated a little dated but like I said the food makes up for it all. Totally recommend this restaurant for Dim Sum. Havent eaten anything else there so I cant comment on anything else.
BEST MEAL EVER!! HANDS DOWN! Dont miss out on this hidden GEM! Thanks for the birthday love
I came here to visit my friend s son who is studying in college here. He brought us here to eat. We ordered double lobster with ginger and onion (the cut size is perfect for children), green spot (very fresh & steamed very delicious), and raw fried chicken. , crispy but not greasy, with a very good texture (I feel there are not many restaurants in Markham that make this dish), double skin milk (the little stew pot it comes in is very cute), my child ate it in one go and said it was very delicious! Although the shrimp rolls are not served with condensed milk, they are still hot inside after cooling. There is a lot of shrimp meat and the outer layer is crispy and super delicious! There is also a whole mango pudding fish that is much richer in flavor than what we had at Markham Lobster! My kid ate the whole fish head by himself! The freshly fried taro wedges don t have much filling but the outer layer is really crispy and delicious! I ate two of them by myself! There were three quicksand buns in a cage, and they were immediately eaten by the two kids. They said they were delicious! I didnt even take a bite. I don t know why I can t share this comment once I post a picture, so I can only delete the picture.
Very interesting food and ambience. Feels like you re having a family dinner at a residential house. Scrumptious, fresh and hot food served here. Great display with glass rotatable table to let others get the dish they want to eat. Eclectic menu items to choose from. Came with a few friends to celebrate a friend s birthday - it was great - we had a lot of food to eat and we were happy. This was my first time trying Dim sum and fried squid. Amazing taste. Highly recommend this place!
DO NOT COME! Please please please read. 0/5 stars. The quality and service has declined over time. The waiter keep rolling her eyes. If you asked for just water instead of tea (not free), your water may never come. Will not come back again indefinitely. I d suggest the China Bowl or other local Chinese restaurants instead of this one. [[[Tips are automatically added into your bill, please check your bill before paying]]]
Worst experience ever. The server give us a careless face. From the beginning to the end, there was not even a cup of water offered. Many things I order were not available. And the food is not that good, T&T could beat them anytime. They even charged me over 10% tip, how dare
Dim sum is not good here, very bland and doesnt smell right. Space is very tight so dont be surprised when you get walked into. Service was pretty bad, you basically get ignored the whole time youre there lol. Definitely wont be returning.
Eggs Eggs Eggs Egging and munching and eggs in egging. Lou Sha Bao munching is good Gib gib gib egg munching .
Kind, courteous, helpful waitress.Good value with combination plates. Will try some of their specialty plates on our next visit.
Amazing hidden gem! The food is fantastic, the staff are extremely friendly and the prices are very reasonable! Try the Hong Kong Style Lobster!!
Food
Wasnt fussy about the online ordering, it caused some issues, but the food more than made up for it. There was great seasoning on the wok that just made the food amazing. I would recommend it highly, but order by phone or in person.
Visiting from Montreal. Place has some delicious food. Goat byriani was amazing. Went there twice in 4 days.
This is the best place to get authentic delicious Chinese food. The staff are amazing, even the owner. We celebrated my dads 60th birthday party here. The staff were so fast and very accommodating. I deffinetly recommend this spot for a nice place to hit up for lunch, or if you got a party, the separate room we were in was perfectly sized.
Best Chinese Restaurant in Kitchener
Absolutely a delight! Recently with the pandemic we have lost a lot of good Chinese places to eat at. Luckily with the discovery of this place we were able to recover from such a loss. The location is amazing, I absolutely adore the little bows that are on the chairs. I am aware that this is a rather small things however it makes the atmosphere feel nicer! The Wok Hay is absolutely fantastic! A lovely addition to the already top tier food. Likely the best Chinese place in the area for those who enjoy authentic
food is okay definitely not the best in town, but watch out because they are cheap and always try to charge us tea when we never get it. and i find a piece of hair pretty often in at least 1 dish. Food quality has declined when prices have inclined
When you feel like a dim sum fix while checking out a new place you always hope for the best. Golden Dynasty is a 3 based on a level of service I havent experienced in a restaurant. We needed to order at the front counter because no one came to help. I asked for help ordering a traditional dim sum rice noodle which is thick and they brought the wrong type and never suggested to take it off the bill. The food and environment unfortunately fell short too leaving me to leave with my eco take out container and not return.
Disappointing. The low priced food wasnt bad, but wasnt great either. Im sure the rather large menu has some winners, and maybe we got unlucky and just picked the losers, however the lack of pictures in the menu means unless youve ordered the item before you have no visual reference as to what youre getting. Only a handful of items show pictures, the rest is left to your imagination. My biggest gripe is that I felt sick afterwards which left me with quite a negative impression of the place and a significant desire to never return.
Food was all super good, except for one dish - the steamed pork ribs. Not so good service but the food makes up for it
Taste good, authentic Chinese food
Deep fried squid tentacles, siu mai, eggplant, and dumplings are outstanding! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian noodle are excellent. Food : 5/5 |
Although the food quality at Golden Dynasty Restaurant was satisfactory, our overall experience was unfortunately below expectations. We were not satisfied with the service we received, which had a significant impact on our dining experience. Our waitress seemed to struggle to understand our order, requiring multiple trips to the back-of-house staff to clarify menu items and ingredients. This not only caused delays but also led to errors. Initially, we were served incorrect dishes, which had to be rectified. In addition, the timing of our meal was disorganized. Our order was not served together, so we visited the counter ourselves to inquire about the remainder of our food. This disruption detracted from the seamless dining experience we were expecting. One of the important aspects of dining out is the overall experience, not just the food. While the food was acceptable, the level of service did not meet our expectations. Based on our experience, we find it hard to recommend Golden Dynasty Restaurant to others at this time.
Great Cantonese style Chinese food and Dim Sum!!! Im all in.
Ive been coming here for years. The service is always friendly, the food is always delicious and the prices arent bad. Id definitely recommend Golden Dynasty for dim sum/Chinese food in the Kitchener-Waterloo area! Parking: Easy to find parking but lot gets full quick, especially on weekends
First time yesterday with my family. We thought the dim sum and service were both excellent, would highly recommend if you re looking for somewhere authentic and local to go
One of the best (if not the best Chinese) food Ive had in the kwc area. Everything was a hit back to back
Great dim sum place in Kitchener.
Overall it was a good dimsum and Chinese food. The Rice Roll with chinese dough fritters, Bbq Pork bun, Deep Fried Shrimp roll and Fried Taro was good (maybe slightly too heavy the taro dough for me). I did not like the sticky rice with pork and salted egg (for me it was too dry). Their other dish were quite good, such as sweet and sour Pork and fried E-Fu noodle. But be aware of their size. As its quite big portions for most of the dishes. Restaurant are clean with an old Chinese ambiance.
As a Cantonese, its pretty good and the price is affordable.
First time here, came for dim sum and its disappointing. I feel like its from ordering freezer food from a old restaurant. Dont know other dishes but absolutely not place for dim sum.
The dinner came with chicken fried rice, sesame chicken and a spring roll. The dinner was delicious. The spring roll was crisp and tasty.
First time coming back after post COVID-19 honestly the food compared to other places its honestly okay... some dishes are better than others but in terms of the quality its pretty mid if you been around to many dimsum places. However if you hardly eat at dimsum then this place may be good if you are in the area otherwise I wouldnt recommend this place. The staff or the lady is friendly, it is obviously a family business but the way the service is handled here it seems they hardly serve people dine-in based off my observations. I literally saw a table uncleaned and left there until there were more people coming in yet it wasnt busy at all. Overall they can do business but for dine-in service its not the best and it can be better otherwise the food is mid also unfortunately the price is pretty high for what they serve.
General Tso and fried rice were both great!
Pretty good restaurant overall. I took my parents for the first time this weekend for dimsum, and we would definitely go back. We usually go out of town for dimsum, but we are glad to have found Golden Dynasty. It saves us a trip to Mississauga. Everything was tasty. Our fried dimsum was not greasy, and the steamed dishes were good without too much MSG. Recommend!
Everything was fine but the service could be better. Food was good, better find more people to eat dim sum together or you re not gonna finish it
Best dim sum I ve had in Kitchener. Lovely service too
Very tasty dim sum
Decent selection of dimsum. Service was fairly fast and food was pretty good. Wished there was more veggies on the dimsum menu though.
This was my second time here. First time was amazing and the waitress was so nice. Lastnight I was so upset as the waitress was terrible and rude. I asked her to have more beef and I will pay extra and she was so rude saying no you cant. It only comes with vegetables. Like really? Wow you dont want to make more money and make your customers happy? Because of this, I will never come back here.
Awesome food. Great quality.
Nice dim sum ... One of our regular places
The food is not fresh. We ordered a shrimp rice roll, the rice roll was sour. We ordered the deep fried ball with sesame, the lotus paste inside was stinky. We ordered shrimp dumplings, the shrimps smelled weird. Finally we canceled the order of the fried ball and rice roll, however they insisted that the fried balls were all good. If you are really sensitive to food tastes, dont go to the place
Over the past year, my parents and I have been ordering Chinese food from two restaurants that weve always enjoyed but theyve become very bland tasting. So for Christmas Eve dinner we decided to order from Golden Dynasty. Best decision we ever made!! The food was so amazing and delicious! My mom was so impressed she thought a review needed to be put up and my mom doesnt normally suggest leaving reviews. The chicken balls were full of meat and not just mostly batter, like other places have come to do. The beef with mixed veggies and chicken with mixed veggies were full of meat, not just veggies. I loved their duck sauce packets instead of plum sauce. It was just an overall great meal that made our Christmas Eve. Thank you very much Golden Dynasty for making that happen!
Favorite Dim Sum spot in KW area. Service was quick and food was very hot. There are a lot of options from which you can choose (whether you want deep fried or steamed, or if you want chicken, beef, seafood, and pork). Will surely come back. Reasonable price.
Best dim sum place, better than most in Toronto!!!!!!!!
I am impressed with the quality of many of the dim sum dishes we got here. I went here several years ago, and it was just okay. They have since stepped it up, and you can tell that the dimsum is indeed hand made. Know what to order and what to avoid though. The fried tofu was excellently done. It was perfectly crisp on the outside because it was dusted with just the right amount of cornstarch. The inside was soft and fresh. Having ordered this dish at some of Ontarios best Dim Sum places, I must say that this is done right. I ordered one today for the next day. Bean curd rolls with oyster sauce was meaty and fresh. Perfectly seasoned. Ordered an extra to go as well. The har gow was is great if you eat it right away. Left to cool, and the outer layers gets starchy-- I feel like they freeze or refrigerate it for so long that the moisture gets sucked out. Chicken feet has a weird vinegar taste. Rice rolls were okay. Love that they have pork stomach, not many dim sum places have it. DO NOT get the curry fish balls. Too soft and mushy.
Food is really good! Dimsum is similar to Markham quality dimsum. Decor is a bit garish though
This place was ok, small. The food was good.
The food was very good. Excellent quality.
Favorite dim sum place in the town! Their takeout still remain good level of quality
Huge selection of dim sum to choose from. Everything we ordered was delicious and service was phenomenal. Will gladly go there again.
Yummy authentic food, clean place and friendly staff! Recommend if you re in the mood for Dim Sum
Not the nicest dine in place but the food is delicious and authentic
Best dimsum in KW area!
The og dimsum place ggwp
Well done!!
Best dimsum in town
So glad to see this place has been back to dim sum dine in. Take out dim sum here is great but it is great when you can dine in. Always friendly staff, great food and portion sizes. A favourite for me.
Absolutely fantastic dim sum, some of the best weve had!
Best dim sum in KW Chicken feet, fried dough rice roll, deep fried tofu, and siu mai are must-try!
such a great dim sum place, the staff were really nice, patient, and helpful when ordering and delivering our food to the table. great food & great staff!
Its not delicious. The shrimp dumplings and carrot cakes fall apart when you put them together. The stir-fried beef river with sand tea sauce is definitely fried beef river or covered beef river, and there is no smell of sand tea sauce. The fried liang and taro dumplings are pretty good.
First time trying Golden Dynasty and it was pretty good. A nice small dim sum place in town, reasonably priced - cant go wrong with that.
Lovely!!! Great food and Covid protocols. Thank you
The environment is very good, the ingredients are fresh and taste good, and the disinfection and hygiene are done well. I was lucky enough to pass by, had a good meal, and went home satisfied. Store owners, thank you for your hard work. Although we are not close to each other, we will definitely visit again if we have the opportunity.
Yummy! The dishes are very good and you can get Dim Sum any time of day and for take out! This is a great place to grab your food and go. We love the chicken spring rolls, the shu mi, shrimp rolls and shrimp spring rolls. The noodle dish, Satay beef Ho Fun delish! The decor and set up needs to be modernized, and fixed up, for dining in. Prices are HIGH, however, this is the only Chinese location in the area...
They improved a lot since they were opened. Lots of authentic Chinese food on top of the usual Canadian Chinese menu. Dim sum were great and tasty.
Best dim sum place in town!
Finally a Chinese Restaurant with amazing dishes! We have tried many Chinese places and all seem to have gone down hill. Well today we gave Golden Dynasty a try and every thing we ordered was top notch. We had the house fried rice, sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken balls , spicy salted pork chops and eggrolls all above any standards we have had at several over the past 3 4 years. Good job we will be back again soon.
Very tasty food. Menu was tricky to figure out though. Prices very good.
Ive been walking by this place for years and this was my first time here. The staff were quick and friendly. The menu was a la carte. The food was hot, fresh and flavorful. The portions were very generous and the presentation was great. I will be back for sure.
The good: terrific dim sum. I really dont like the idea of leaving a negative review of a local business, but heres the bad: A friend and I visited for lunch today. Without realizing it, we ordered way too much: 2 to 3 times more than we could eat (final bill $110). The waiter who took our order didnt warn us. When the first dish arrived (minutes after we ordered), we realized what had happened, and my friend went to ask if we could cancel parts of our order. They refused. Based on the arrival time of other dishes, I dont think all dishes could have been started at that point.
Absolutely trash service. Food wasnt bad though.
Dim sum was delicious at a fair price!
Ive been coming here for some years now - my favourite Chinese restaurant in KW! The staff is always prompt and friendly. Whether youre looking for pop Chinese cuisine (chicken balls, fried rice, egg rolls, etc.) or authentic traditional dishes, this place is definitely worth a visit. The hot and sour soup is a favourite of mine - and dont forget to try the dessert menu! I do wish they would swap out their polystyrene take-out containers for something more sustainable, reusable, and/or recyclable. If they did so, I would probably order a second meal to take home and enjoy later! Sadly, though, polystyrene is sort of the industry standard, so I cant fault them too much for this.
Got there shortly before closing. Still managed to feed us with great food and wonderful service. Thank you.
I went there twice, hoping that Loo could order more delicious Cantonese food. This restaurant is really average. At 1 oclock in the afternoon, many dishes were gone, and one of the male waiters had a bad attitude.
We were craving to cold chicken steam with garlic oil sauce and they made it for us. Thumbs up!!
Food was super good. I also love how pretty and clean it is in the restaurant. My kids and I enjoyed going for lunch
Not sure what to say as I I didnt eat here. They turned me away mid day saying they ran out of food.
It was for a party of 5 and they seated us at a big table that fit more than 5 since there was no spot available, but soon after told us that we have to sit somewhere else cause there was a bigger party that needed the table. They did apologize and found us another table quickly by adding a chair to the side that seats 4 which they couldve done in the beginning. As we were ordering some dim sum it took awhile for the food to come and they realized that we were using the wrong ordering sheet that was meant for another table, so they gave us a new ordering sheet. We all assume the waiter that was working at our table was new since they seem unsure what to do sometimes so we didnt let that ruined our time eating there cause we all been there once before being new to a job. After everything was fixed the food came out fast and it was all delicious, definitely coming back again. I recommend coming here with family or friends for dim sum, everything on the menu is delicious and if you want to be adventurous you can try out their chicken feet and beef tripe.
Food was good but didnt wow us. They offered tea and only after we realized it was $1 each. Some of the dim sum was a bit heavy and taste was not as I would usually expect for those dishes at other places. However was still good, not too salty. Will probably be back
The food is great and well priced. The service not so much...
Came here with my family at around 6pm on a Sunday. The dim sum here is fantastic, and everything was ready very quickly after ordering. The tea was quite good as well. Unfortunately they were out of congee and taro dumplings at that time, but everything we were able to order was phenomenal, especially considering the price.
Have been here a couple of times. Most of the dishes were okay. Prices are alright. Parking: Ample parking lot
A good place to get dim sum in Waterloo
We went to Golden Dynasty on a weekend lunch time and we had to wait a bit to get seated, no one greeted us until we flagged someone down. We got served tea and there is a $1 charge per pot of tea. We also had to walk up to the front counter to hand in our order since no one was paying attention to us. We got a few dishes during their yumcha time. We got 101 Shrimp Dumpling/ Hargow ($6.88), 102 Pork Dumpling/Siu mai ($5.48), 109 Shanghai small steam bun ($5.48), 128 rice roll with dough fritter ($5.48), 116 deep fried squid tentacle ($8.48), 122 Turnip Cake ($4.48), 120 Deep Fried Taro Dumpling ($5.48), 130 Spare Rib & Chicken feet on rice ($7.48), and lastly fried rice noodle with beef ($13.98). They were all not bad. We were disappointed the rice roll with dough fritter didn t have the peanut sauce with it and when we asked the waiter, they simply said they didn t have it and didn t even look at us before leaving quickly. The food was decent, but the service wasn t too great overall. We had to flag for their attention multiple times to get things which was difficult since they weren t in the area we were sitting, which was in the back.
Fresh and tasty! will come again and bring my friends
We had the dinner for 2 and it was ok, not great though. The chow mein was incredibly bland and basically just plain boiled bamboo shoots. The chicken fried rice and the chicken balls were ok too. The food is not bad, it just lacks a bit of flavour or spices or even the characteristic salty flavour of typical Chinese food.
Best seafood ever with reasonable price. Highly recommend
Wow, Distinctly delicious. I wish I went sooner. Amazing food, and staff, lots of options, everything is fantastic, tastes traditional, the ingredients are high quality and fresh.
Authentic Cantonese dim sum
I discovered this place from a recommendation from an HK friend. Golden Dynasty always consistently has delicious and fresh dim sum for takeout. For KW, I would not go anywhere else. Although the interiors are simple and small typical to most older chinese restaurants, the food always makes it worthwhile.
Really freshly made and yummy food. Staff always friendly and give helpful suggestions when youre not sure what youd like to order. Our favorite place.
Since Cameron is no longer dine-in, I go here instead. The hot sauce is not as good, but the dim sum is decent
We came here as a party of 9 for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered a mix of dim sum dishes as well as some items on the regular dine in menu. The food was served hot and it was good. The main issue we had with this place was the slow service and unhygienic serving practices. Unlike other Chinese restaurants they do not have enough servers for the number of customers they get at lunch. The servers did not clean up two tables in front of us for the first 30 minutes while we were there. They had to be told multiple times to get us tea and water. They also did not wash their hands after cleaning up the tables of the guests who left, before setting up for the newer guests. We had 2 plates that were dirty at our table as well. And when we finished eating, we had to go get the take out containers ourselves because they were so busy.
Better tasting dishes than some Chinese restaurants in Toronto and Vancouver.
Used to live very close to this restaurant but never tried. Big regret because this is a good place for dim sum. One of the best ones in Kitchener. They have all day dim sum so it really hits the spot when you are craving it. Seriously wish I tried this restaurant when I lived walking distance.
Right beside city Cafe, never went in because it looks sketch. Finally went in after 10 years and omg, the dimsums are actually really good! Nice ppl too! Definitely a hidden gem. Food
The rice was really good, but the rest of the food wasn t great. Our server disappeared somewhere near the end of our meal. We had to go to the cash register and ask for takeout containers that we had waited for, for 20 minutes. The person cashing us out was clearly in a bad mood and didn t say a word to us even as we were leaving.
Good food, decent quality
This is my go to spot for dim sum now. Love that they have dim sum available al day. Amazing authentic taste. Even my parents love it and that s saying something!
Great service and always amazing food
I don t quite understand why the rating is so high. I feel it s very average, especially the noodles, it s just amazing! It tastes nothing! The price is not cheap! It took a long time to order tea before it was served! I have no interest in taking photos anymore! The meal was also served slowly!
First time eating in. All the dishs where fresh and taste. We will be back.
Affordable Chinese dim sum place in this area :) very busy on weekends. Not the best but considering the price, it is good!
Its satisfied my craving for authentic cantonese food. Id say ther best chinese food Ive tried in the region. Decor definetly says chinese. Food came out real quick and piping hot. Ther fried rice was freshly made to order. Price was very reasonable for the quality. Might be a monthly visit for the for our family. Parking: Live seafood, lobster and crab tank. Koi fish display, lucky bamboo
Classic dumpy dimsum place, food is quite good
This place is amazing!!!! Hidden gem forsure. We especially enjoyed the rice noodle with beef, chicken rice roll, squid tentacles (incredible) and the taro and pork spring rolls!! Will be coming back again!
Great server, very clear and attentive. Food came quick and was delicious. Food : 5/5
decent food
Attentive staff following safety protocol, decent dim sum menu though a little limited and the food was quite pleasing. Not a bad dim sum place in a town not exactly known for its dim sum restaurants. A pleasant surprise for certain.
Have been going for years and love it. Food on this visit was excellent except lemon chicken dish really disappointed because the chicken was honestly paper thin. Some pieces were just batter. Took leftovers home and my husband put it in the garbage because he didnt want to eat mainly batter. Well return but will just avoid the lemon chicken.
Some of the best dim sum Ive had in KW and beats many spots Ive had in the GTA.
Its great food and nice service.
