Very good Portuguese restaurant in the area. Love it each time I come in. I recommend it to everyone that loves Portuguese food.
We had an early dinner at Algarve Restaurant, Kitchener. The restaurant was hosting a private event. They welcomed us in the bar area. The regulars were there finishing up solving the problems of the world in Portuguese. 🙂 We had: Pork Alentejan with Clams - pork, potatoes, peppers, onions and clams in a garlicky sauce (Very yummy!) Pork Cutlet Alentejan - pan fried pork chop with fries and vegetables Grilled Squid - grilled squid with broccoli and roasted potatoes (Excellent!) Salt cod fritters - deep fried salt cod with potatoes (❤️Not on the menu but we requested the item and they we happy to oblige.❤️) The meals was home style and very tasty. A definite do over.
Great homestyle cooking. Simple menu, simple food, and GREAT prices! It has such a classy atmosphere but keeps prices just as cheap as any loud and trite chain. Bar on one side and classy restaurant on the other. The wall is quite sound proof so you can have a conversation and not even know a bar is 3 feet from you. I went with my mother and she enjoyed it but I would highly recommend this as a fantastic place to take a date.
July 4th 2023, after leaving Toronto to go back home with my daughter, we stopped here and we’re glad we did. My daughter being born Canadian loves our culture food and ordered the Grilled Cod, I had the Grilled Squid (Lulas). She was on cloud 9 and fell in Love, she says it was delicious and not even too salty as others claim. There’s nothing more enjoyable than seeing your daughter loving the food from your homeland. I most definitely will be coming back and drive the 1.5 hrs here. Be Proud Algarve Restaurant, home is closer than we think. Will definitely recommend this little gem. Ps, Dining area for those quiet moments together and the Bar area to take you back to the love of traditional noise, friendship gatherings, pool table and Foosball for enjoyment also.
Good food, though a bit on the salty side and the cod was a bit overdone. The squid was great. The portion sizes are good too - not too big that you can't finish, but not so small that you will leave hungry. I do wish they had more dessert options.
I had the grilled squid. Mmm, delicious. Pro tip: make sure you leave enough pre-dinner bread to sop up the leftover garlic olive oil on your plate!
As my first time in the restaurant and drove all the way from Toronto to meet my son kind of half way as he lives in Aylmer and was his birthday. He had carne Alentejana I had the cod fish with fries and onions absolutely nothing to do with Portuguese food nasty Cod fish dish as I was surprised being they suppose to be Portuguese. My son said his was ok if I had to rate my meal I probably not give them any stars. Service was ok price was not ok because food was not good if was good I would pay no issues and no complains but this is far from Portuguese cod fish... Bit disappointed as I said I drove all the way from Toronto. I forsure will not return. Waiter was sweet and very kind.

My family and I had a great experience, not only with the food, but also with the service. The restaurant is very tidy, clean and has a cozy atmosphere.
Great food, atmosphere is good but can be loud depending on if you sit on. The restaurant is suggested if you want a peaceful meal.
Delicious food
Every time we called to make a reservation, the workers told us we wouldn t need to make one. And when we would show up, they would tell us there are no available seatings and we would have to leave.

Steak is to die for
a Euro style pub on one side and great dining on the other. Try the Seafood rice...its amazing!
Decided to taste Portuguese cuisine before my travel to Portugal in February. Ordered grilled squid. It was a bit salty for my first bite but I got used to it and started loving it afterwards. The oil, especially, was so delicious that I took all of bread to dip it. Amazing! Looking forward to trying other Portuguese dishes before coming to Portugal.
We came all the way from Toronto for an authentic Portuguese dining experience and were not disappointed. The service was friendly and fast and the food authentic. The prices are great as an added bonus. Parking: Lots of parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible.
Great Portuguese food! Amazing waitress. Very worth the drive all the way from Toronto and will certainly come back! Parking: Lots of parking!!! Kid-friendliness: There were kids in the restaurant. If you have a well behaved child, bring him. If not keep him home.
Best authentic portugese food
Our party had steak algarve, pork with clams, mussels and grilled salmon steak. All were delicious and portions were generous. The menu says the mussels were for 2, but would easily have satisfied 4! With Super Bock and vinho verde, this was an excellent reminder of a recent trip to Portugal.
We took our toddler to the bar part of the restaurant. We had a blast! Casual atmosphere, wonderful food and friendly staff
Arrived at 6:30, two tables got served before us only got our food at 8:06. Very poor service. Don t recommend unless you arrive a couple hours before you intend to eat
Algarve steak was fantastic. The cod fish was also very good.
I do not recommend this Portuguese restaurant to anyone! I waited so long just to get a table and with the restaurant empty I had to go to the bar to call someone to serve me! As almost always happens in Portuguese restaurants, they bring dry papo to accompany the food but they brought sliced bread! I ordered a well-done Algarve steak and it was so thick and raw inside, I didnt eat anything and they still charged me for everything even though I hadnt eaten anything... Ill never go there again and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone, it was a bad experience
Went with a group. Only one waitress for several tables. My food was good, others were disappointed. Service was slow because one person simply isnt enough, no matter how skilled she was. We were in a side room and it was kind of dreary. I likely wont choose this place again.

Not a lot of seats or choices in food. But food is food, good portions too
I went there many times, the service was always slow but the food used to be good. Today I was there with my wife and we ordered two grilled God, it came unbelievable over salted. When i complained the cook told me rudely that this is the away they cook, I told him that I was there many times and it was never like this also I know how grilled cod is (Im from a Portuguese family) but he just walked away. NEVER AGAIN! Waste of money, really slow service, the waiters are never in the dinning room and lot of people screaming.

Bifana & home made chips was excellent, but not enough chips for 2 ppl . Bought flan desert but found it pricy at 8$ for a very tiny piece bill was over 50$ for 2 people.
For those who miss Portugal or Brazil. Or want to have lactose free options.

Great spot. Not a place I would have just stumbled across as it s not near my normal stomping ground. But I ve gone there many times for group parties and lunches. The food is incredible. The feel is very where everyone knows your name . If you are in for just a beer, some great food or both, it s worth while to visit for sure.
It was an interesting dining experience. We asked for a booster seat for my two year old and was told sorry we only have one and its being used. Ok we can live with that daughter can sit in a normal chair. Then we were brought out only three menus for a party of four because they only had 5 menus another table already had a couple of menus at their table..what? So what do they do when theres also a bigger party? Take one menu and pass it around? Odd. Ok we can share menus. We order mussels as an appetizer which I must say were very very good. Even my wife thats not a mussel fan enjoyed them. We got our food order in and waitress brought the food over. We had asked from two medium well steaks which were a bit under but not enough to send them back, it looked like they had been cooked for the right amount of time on one side but not the other. However the worst part came to my mother-in-laws salmon which was raw in the middle. Her veggies and fries were also cold. When we brought it to the attention of the server seem to expect that it would be under cooked based on her reaction. She took it away and they fired up a new salmon which came back probably a bit over done. At no point however did anyone apologize to us for the mistake. (Ive been to a place where our table got a free round of drinks just because I asked for a new fork because one of the forks at the table was not washed properly). We werent asking for anything for free or anything like that but at least an acknowledgement that they made a mistake would have been nice. Not sure if I would go back again and give it another shot.

Definitely try this place. Been there various times over the decades and always very good. Different from the normal boring franchises like Caseys or Kelseys. You wont be disappointed

They are friendly and food was good. We ordered the bifacasa. Not the best for kids who only eat chicken fingers and fries as they dont have a kids menu.

Take my Dad for an espresso with my family, a game of pool and a soccer or hockey game on the screen. Food is scrumptious Portuguese fare. Feels like your there.
Great service, went in for lunch on a weekend and the server was so kind to get our orders done before a big party. Food was top notch as always
