276 King St W Suite 5, Kitchener, ON N2G 1B6, Canada
Entrance on Water Street! Local eatery featuring ramen soups with housemade noodles in a laid-back setting.
I am severely allergic to mushrooms to the point where I could die if I didnt get immediate medical attention. Ordered food without mushrooms only to find out they did not actually read the order. Why make it an option if you wont follow through. This is dangerous and will not eat here anymore. Was excited to try it but they put my life in danger tonight. Due to cross contamination I cannot also just pick them out as they have touched everything else. Very disappointed. Edit: added photos
Very fun and interesting non-standard ramen place. Clearly plugged into the local community. Thanks for the service and food!
Excellent ramen selection with generous portions and tasty flavours. Interesting setup where you order at the counter and then they bring it to your table. Friendly staff and a comfortable vibe made dining-in a very pleasant experience. We will definitely visit again!
We ordered the Kaizen warrior pork and tofu. I can't say it was bad, but it was by far the saddest, blandest, greyest food I think I've ever had. The service was lackluster, I've had better at McDonald's. The atmosphere was decent. Probably never going to return.
Aayushi was so kind and let my family and I eat in the restaurant 30 mins before dine in closed. We just wanted a quick bite after my grad, and she welcomed us for a great meal! The ramen was delicious and the sides were delightful and what blew me away was how fast and friendly the service was! After We finished, Aayushi even gave me a small grad gift dessert which I really appreciate! Highly recommend to anyone craving some great ramen!! Thanks again :D
Tried the spicy negi chicken ramen and Vegan Maputo tofu ramen here. Even thought the spicy negi chicken was average , the vegan ramen was just amazing! Hands down one of the best vegan ramen I have ever tried. The flavors were intense and blended so well with the tofu. Also, I’d rather try chicken tantanmen the next time. They do have an order first policy before grabbing a seat and are quite particular about it which was new for me. Overall great ramen spot and I’d def be back.
We tried Dragon's Breath (having pork) and Spicy chicken tantanmen. The first one had a tangy flavour, and is garnished with a fish cake. The latter had chicken crumbs, and had a distinct creamy texture, and the broth was thicker. The food was delicious, and the people are friendly. Definitely going back to try other varieties for sure. Also tried Vegan Mapo Tofu. It was good, but I felt that it was too salty. The Togarashi fries are good, but the chicken gyoza was disappointing- it was dripping oil, and didn't pair well with the sauce.
We had crafty ramen delivered a few times on uber eats and it's been delicious. Noodles are always the perfect texture and the broth is very flavourful. If you upsize the portion, it is easy to share for a light dinner for two! Their protein pieces are very large and the overall dish is quite filling. We appreciate the nut-free kitchen disclaimer on their website which puts our mind at ease when ordering. Hopefully we can dine in-house sometime for the full experience. Edit: forgot to mention that we added our own soft boiled egg in the photos!
Their quality failed when they sold out to the den. It s watered down no flavoured garbage. I ve tried multiple times. Their noodle packages are sold out to out of country ingredients. The only thing they got going for Guelph and Kitchener restaurant is their out sourced money for their actually atmosphere.
was here to pick up a order told me to wait said dont have a order then said our skip isnt on it is turned off not making any sense laughing at counter dont know what kind staff is yours
Delicious ramen and generous portions!
This is Japanese ramen imitation, not an authentic one. Im extremely disappointed with the broth and the noodle. The noodle was soft but not firm. The broth lacks the rich and umami flavor that Japanese ramen should have. They do have the ingredients normally found in ramen (i.e marinated egg, chasu, etc.) though. The service and atmosphere were decent, just the ramen doesnt deserve 4 stars Google reviews.
You go in, order, then sit while they make and bring you your food. Its casual, but the food is top notch. Had the Big City Smoke which had chicken base ramen with a long slice of pork belly. It was soft and full of flavour, absolutely worth it. Had the side of edamame with chili oil. I loved it here - it was fast and delicious. Only point I would change is that it was slightly salty but does not take away from how punchy and plain delicious it was.
One of the Best Ramen in town, I have tried all kinds of Ramen but crafty ramen is way better than Kinton, they use really good ingredients in their ramen bowl. I m in Love with the vampire slayer and tan tan also their cheese burger gyoza
The best Ramen restaurant in the region. Absolutely delicious food. The restaurants atmosphere is cozy and super friendly staff. My family love it there. Did both dine in and delivery and wasnt disappointed in anyway. Same quality of dine in for delivery.
I have stopped ordering from Crafty Ramen, because my last few delivery orders have been disappointing. I thought it was a one-off issue but the last three orders have been the same. The ingredients dont taste fresh and the ramen broths have been too salty. For the price, there are now better options in the region.
It was a take out so I just walked in and picked it up.
The food is so yummy.
Were lucky to have such a good choice of great food in Kitchener-Waterloo and Crafty Ramen helps to raise that bar. Not just in the quality of the food, but also in their wonderful customer service and thoughtful details. Were looking forward to visiting again soon and making our way through the menu! Vegetarian options: Yes, many of the dishes have vegetarian versions Dietary restrictions: Peanut free, but you should check before you order to confirm
Been back lately and just wanted to give praise for both the new Vampire Slayer ramen (absolutely delicious for garlic lovers), as well as one of the newer waitresses (we didnt get her name but she appears to be African-American with short curly hair and a bandana headband) who has always been super friendly and helpful! Her interactions with guests are genuine and she always greets everyone with a smile; we loved having her as our waiter. Best ramen in KW.
Cheap tasting ramen. I found it to be too salty and the flavours don t satisfy like a good ramen should. I had the big city smoke ramen combo with pork gyoza. The pork belly was tough and honestly, I ve had better frozen gyoza.
Nice place at DTK for ramen. Ambiance was good. Food was authentic. Give it a try if you like ramen. Won t be disappointed. Food : 5/5
bro
Very good buy could use more chicken
Bad quality. The ramen used to be good. But the quality has gone down completely. The broth tastes watered down. The noodles seem cheap and generic with a texture like they came from a pack of spaghetti. The meats seem like they were taken straight from a plastic package of pre-cooked meat and microwaved. The portion sizes have also dropped significantly. Not even close to worth the cost. Dont even bother with crafty ramen anymore.
It was a really nice experience, food tasted great( I def didnt order the right dish for me, but surprisingly still superb). The soup we got had little Lego men that were actually spicy mayo, its was super neat. Staff was lovely and the cooks were fast. The restaurant is very nice looking. The lights grasp your eyes and the artwork is very well done. Will def go again.
Best ramen Ive tasted so far in the city. My son loves it too.
Amazing food! Amazing service! We always try to come with Aayushi is working since she always gives the best service!
Generous portions with the most beautiful broth I have probably ever had in my life. Ive never ever had anything blan here and they do have more affordable options if you are looking to save money. To me, the food in which they prepare from scratch is precious and valuable. Its very special as I wouldnt know where to begin in crafting such a beautiful delightful bowl of Raman. I have been here a bunch of times.
Such a great team they have here, they are always so accommodating and do what they can to make sure you have the best experience.
Really nice place to have Ramen and other cuisines, loved it. Especially a person to be mentioned will be Aayushi who actively provided very good service at the restaurant.
Ordered lunch for my sister and I and had it delivered. Both of our ramens the noodles were undercooked. Very hard to mix and really chewy. Disappointing because when we tried this a few years ago it was delicious
Spicy Chicken Tantanmen was delicious. I shall order it again! It was flavourful and not spicy hot.
The snacks (appetizers) are top notch! Super impressed at the quality! My wife loves the fried chicken. I was disappointed with the chicken soups, but I had the meat lovers ramen and it had amazing flavour. I also loved the variety, every bite or slurp of soup was varied and extremely tasty.
The staffs were nice. We came in late, so dining in wasnt an option. Nonetheless, the place looked clean and welcoming. The ramen was a huge disappointment for all of us: salty and underwhelming in flavors. Maybe because its the bottom of the pot broth we got, but it wasnt good, especially given the price.
Excellent food very tasty!
We absolutely love it here! So lovely to have delicious ramen downtown! I would have given 5 stars across the board, but they really need to invest in some shade/blinds for the windows in their restaurant. More than half of the tables are in full sun by 6:30pm (in July). Makes for a very hot and uncomfortable dining experience. I don t love my ramen with a side of sunburn. Keep up the great work! See you again soon!
Portion was absolutely tiny edit: july 29 - decided to try again, everything tasted really good and the portion honestly seemed larger than the first time i tried, however the seasoned egg tasted funny, completely different than the first time. well i should have listened to my gut. to keep it classy let s just say it didn t settle well on both ends something is just off with this place, after 2 negative experiences i won t be trying again
Went to Craty Ramen and had a amazing experience and service from Aayushi. Will come back agian!!!!
Aayushi is friendly and always provides amazing service. The food here is 10/10! My favourite ramen place in the area.
When we happen to be in Kitchener, we love to eat the Meat Lover ramen and Gyoza dumplings from Crafty Ramen. These are our favourite items on the menu but there is a great selection of other ramen and snacks. Check it out, you will become instant lovers of this place!!! Parking: We went to pick up our takeout and had to circle the block until a parking spot freed up close to the location. Not terribly long but not readily available. A little frustrating.
Please go to a ramen restaurant that has japanese kitchen staff if youd like legit ramen.
The absolute best ramen in Kitchener. I m not exaggerating when I say that everything here is good. I absolutely love it here and I recommend it to anyone who loves good ramen.
Veg. Tofu Ramen extra spicy is delicious. I get them to add kimchi for gut health. Would also like to give a shout out to the girl that works there Aayushi. Always Pleasant to deal with and nice to be greeted with a smile consistently.
Disappointing. If you compare it to traditional ramen its not very good, heavy amounts of salt supplement for a lack of flavour, and for $20 for a bowl of broth and noodles, youre not getting very much. I dont know how places like this survive charging that much for soup, but I guess you have to with rent prices. Its a nice place but I dont get it, its almost too big and nice for the product.
One of the worst ramens I had , The broth was bland and smelly , and noodles wasn t even edible and undercooked . I had to throw all out .
Nice ramen shop, very tasty food. Recommend the karaage. A bit pricey, I recommend using discounts. There are deals/discounts on the online shop which they dont advertise or tell you about in the store. You need to show them their own online store page and deals for them to apply any discount. If you ask the cashier about any deals they wont tell you, which is a bit strange.
Great food and service
Best ramen in house and through their at home frozen ramen you can make. Cooked this up for my American friend, now he orders it to my place and crosses the border just to have crafty at home. Food : 5/5
Aayushi is amazing coustomer service and the food really good I haven t tried better ramen before
Aayushi services was amazing, she gave us very good recommendations about the food which is really delicious.
Excellent food. Customer service amazing from AAYUSHI. Clean space and fast service.
Aayushi was very friendly and polite, excellent customer service given!
Everyone is amazing here! Ive got ti know them personally! Aayushi is always very personable and chats and everyone just makes you feel just so at home when Im there! My favorite place to eat by far!! Arman is a fantastic guy that takes care of his customers! Raj is a fantastic cook and always smiles and greets everytime Im there! Cannot say a single bad thing about this location! Chris the manager is phenomenal his Jobe as is everyone else that works here! YOU ALL NEED RAISES! Great job at producing great quality food!
The server was super sweet and the atmosphere was so peaceful! and the music taste was chefs kiss (just as good as the food)
DISASTER .....! Lets start with atmosphere... arrived at the restaurant for a dine in on Friday evening.... there were no tables occupied, we were the only ones there... a constant white noise from the open kitchen exhaust made cross table conversation impossible. Bathrooms were dirty and stinking. SERVICE... MEDIOCRE at best... this was our first time, and we told the server that we would like some recommendations as my wife was vegan. Server pointed us to a board and told us to take a look at the menu and order what we like..rude and borderline discrimination. FOOD.... horrible in terms of value for money. Pho is better option than what is served here for the price that was charged. We paid 70$ for 3 of us and ended up in A&W simply because we were still hungry and not satisfied.... AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.... Kitchener has more options and better value for money....
Chicken Tantan Men was extremely mild, not sure if they forgot to add the spice but it was very disappointing. Not very flavourful without the spice.
I love this place the ramen is so delicious and the staff are super friendly and kind
Thanks to Aayushi and the rest of the staff for a delicious experience.
Amazing place with excellent customer service, amazing food and atmosphere. Had the Oni chicken and it was delicious. Would definitely recommend
Ordered for delivery, and I know quality is reduced when delivered. I haven t ordered here in awhile because my first experience was meh, but I figured I d try again. Ordered the big city smoke, and the broth and marinated egg was delicious. However, the pork was so dry and dense - it should have fallen apart in the broth, but it was literally just a slab. Tasted alright. I also got chicken&shiitake gyoza - they were all stuck together, burnt on the bottom, and the filling was gritty and the flavour was off putting. Disappointing, and likely the last time I ll order.
Kush suggested me Crafty and tokyo tofu is really good ramen.
Kush suggested me Crafty and tokyo tofu is really good ramen.
Kushs politeness and kindness are top-notch. He always ensures customers are well taken care of and satisfied.
Kushs dedication to keeping the kitchen clean and organized is remarkable. His hard work is evident in the quality of the food
Nothing but great things to say about this place, its so good that even though I live about an hour drive I will come back to this restaurant. I wish I could remember the two guys who welcomed my friends and I in and recommended dishes try.
Hey I had a great experience Here the waitress ally was amazing and polite and they lady who made my soup was great. The food is fresh and the restaurant was very clean at the tables. But I will definitely be back because of the great food and amazing waitress ally. Food
The food was really great but our favourite part there was the staff. Aayushi was so very helpful and patient as I was with someone who was quite picky. She went out of her way to make sure that we were comfortable always had water and made the best suggestions. Definitely will go back
Store timings are wrong in google. Dine in close at 11 pm.
Great food
Aayushi is always so helpful and makes for a great experience. Crafty Ramen is a great spot in town.
Friendly staff and the service was excellent (thank you Aayushi!) The Big City Smoke Ramen comes with a thick pork slice that melts in your mouth. I just wish the dumplings and karaage came with more pieces cause they re really good. Overall, great spot!
We ordered takeout for 2 ramens and the broth was way too salty with little to no flavour, very inconsistent in food quality.
I ordered Oni Chicken and it was awesome. If you really like spicy you should go for it. I have tried all of their Ramens in Chicken but this one was lit
Best ramen. Fresh noodles. Bok choy looked like it was just picked from garden. Broth seasoned perfectly. Korean BBQ chicken A+. All gyoza yummy. Music loud but they turned it down when asked. Service with a smile.
I would say the food here was not bad but for the price it definitely is not worth it, 20 dollars for a bowl of ramen is expensive, I know places in the area that are way cheaper and the taste didnt blow us away
We tried the take home frozen chicken ramen and it was so delicious
Had two bowls of ramen with my partner there, both of them tasted awful, the soup tasted like water with instant seasoning powder in it.
The togarashi fries were great, but the ramen not so much. The broth could ve used some more seasoning, and the toppings were cold.
Is ramen lunch or is it dinner? Let s discuss over some
Great service and amazing food . Had their mapo tofu ramen and fried Brussels sprouts. Would definitely go back. You have Options for vegetarians. Parking: You will find free parking around if you get there after 5pm ..
Delicious food
I ordered from DoorDash but it didn t meet the TikTok hype. I ordered the BigSmoke and it was underwhelming. The broth is not very rich and it was oddly salty but still bland. I also got the pork goyza which was very vinegary. It may be a good substitute for ramen frozen but would not order from the restaurant again.
Very generic noodles that taste like they came out of a box. Not very authentic and service is lacking. I wouldn t recommend. Also, they don t have any beef options which is disappointing. A lot of other much better options around that make the noodles fresh on the spot such as Kinton Ramen, and Gol s Lanzhou.
Disappointed, if youre looking for a Japanese cuisine experience, skip this place. The servers dont know what Tonkutsu and Wasabi is. Food tasted bland, hygiene was not so good too.
Love it when the owner is around, that s when everything is great, the food and service. When the owner isn t around the quality of food goes down same with the service hence the 3 stars.
Food was really good, cheap, and fast. Really nice atmosphere to eat at.
Delicious food and excellent service Thank you for hosting our large group and being so accommodating and friendly The edge synchr team Food : 5/5
We just picked up four Tokyo salaryman and Kaizen warrior dishes as a first time try. Excellent food. Good value. Good service at the counter and fairly quick given it was Friday evening and quite busy. Appreciated the good quality recyclable take out dishes the food came in. Recommended.
Very tasty ramen, I feel like its gotten better over the years. Nice atmosphere, definitely worth eating in (I dont recommend takeout). Spicy broth meat bowl is what Id definitely get if you end up going Vegetarian options: Tofu
It was my first time trying Ramen and I was glad that crafy ramen had veg ramen as well in their menu and it was really tasty!! I loved the hot sauce in it. It was a great combo with chopsticks.
Disgusting food. Do not get the Mapo tofu, not spicy at all and weird after taste. I couldn t even finish what I got. If you want spicy soupy ramen sit home and eat maggi or go to kinton ramen.
Happiest place on earth
You will not find better ramen in the area or even into the GTA. At least until you get to Mississauga and find another Crafty Ramen. Excellent food, friendly staff that will chat and make you feel at home both in Waterloo and Guelph, and fresh ingredients. The Gryphon is just rich enough without being unbalanced, the Korean chicken is to die for and the karage is the best I ve had. You re missing out if you don t give them a shot.
Server was really nice, but food was $21 with an egg. I d understand the price if it was something really special, but it was just standard Kinton level ramen. The real issue was the portions. There s far better ramen for less with larger portions out there.
We tried spicy negi ramen and veggie gyoza, food was loaded with oil and was not at all spicy. It was pretty bland and costed us 31$ which was not its worth in my view. May not recommend to Indian vegetarian customers.
The packaging and the gochujang chicken were nice but i wasnt a fan of the mushrooms paired with it. I got the chicken tan tan but the broth was extremely salty. Overall I would purchase the chicken again but without the mushrooms. I wouldnt get the ramen again because it gave me diarrhea
Theres a lot of things that Crafty Ramen is doing that I wish other restraints did. Pay-as-you-order is an great way to feel relaxed when you eat. You dont need to worry about waiting for someone to come around (or calling out to someone) to give you a bill. You can leave when you are done. The little sticker on the pay machine stating that tips are not expected but are appreciated leads me to believe that staff are fairly compensated, contrasting that of other restaurants and food destinations. I tip every time both out of respect for the employees and the business practice. The lack of pressure is a welcome sight. Lastly, the food and atmosphere are fantastic. The food claims to only be Japanese-inspired, but it rings true to the flavours I remember from my time abroad in the Kansai area. The interior is charming. Although some interior features like the bar, table, stools, and chairs could be upgraded, they do contribute to the more artistic feel of the interior. Excellent lighting and fun energy due to the open-wall kitchen. I do recommend this place to any fans of ramen or other east-asian cuisine with minor creative adjustments.
The food was awesome. My kids really enjoyed it, too. The meat lovers 2.0 is my favorite. The korean chicken is also fantastic. Keep up the great work!
I was here for takeout and the service is very slow. The order was prepared but no one was there at the counter for very long time. So I could not collect it for 10 mins.
Gyoza my beloved.
I really enjoyed the Kaizen Warrior with sesame tofu. I appreciate the vegetarian and vegan options, there is plenty to choose from. Pricing for the ramen is okay (~$15-20) given the portion size; my friend and I were both stuffed. I probably wouldn t order the 5 small gyoza for ~$8 again, but they were still very tasty. Atmosphere was nice as well. Open kitchen is neat and I like that it s not too loud, as some open kitchens can be.
We love going here as a family for ramen. Everyone loves it. The service is very good. We had a really nice experience with the kids. We ordered French fries and the server ran out to buy ketchup for us, when we asked for it alongside the spicy mayo. Vegetarian options: Really good vegetarian ramen with a nice serving of tofu.
1st time going. Will be going back again.
Best take-out Ramen in KW. Beautiful bowls and chopsticks selection for purchase as well.
Crafty Ramen - You changed my life!!! Tried their subscription frozen ramen and was really impressed. Super yummy, very quick to make, which makes it a great lunch during work, and basically tasted like a fresh bowl of ramen served at a restaurant.
This was our first time trying a ramen restaurant and we loved it. The vegan ramen was so flavorful, and the togaroshi fries were SO good. They did not have gluten free noodles available sadly, but the flavors made up for it. Will definitely be back if the GF noodle options are available again!
Kid-friendliness: I love this place as much as my kids do! Great food, great service, and fast. And you dont need to wait for the cheque if you need to split because your kids are having a melt down, but luckily hasnt happened yet because they love this place!
Meat Lover 2.0 is the one! Great service. Appreciated the music/ambience. Food : 5/5
We were trying Ramen for the first time and we tried 2 Vegan options. Spicy Negi Vegan and Tokyo Salary Man, both come with Tofu, superb taste. Will try again 100%. Loved it. Vegetarian options: Tokyo salary man with Tofu, Spicy Negi with Tofu
Food was really good and the service was even better! Kid-friendliness: Good food options for kids but the atmosphere is not the best for them Food : 5/5 |
Disappointing. There was something missing in the broth, it felt a little watered down and overall underwhelming. The noodles were also a bit too soggy. The topping quantity was nice but it came out cold. Like all of the toppings except the meat were cold as if just taken out from the fridge. Not just my own bowl but also my companions. The restaurant itself is nice but for some reason there were a lot of flies. The table beside us and us kept swatting around to keep them away from our food lol. The staff was really friendly though. At least their kaarage was tasty.
This place is not for me. They have some good Asian cusine but not for me. Because they have some different kind of Korean and Chinese cusine. I tried having noodles but I did not get the taste liking to be as my buds are not pretty satisfied with the different dishes served there. But guys, people who are from these china and korea this is the best place for you guys. Have fun.
Amazing service and great food!
As always, the ramen was delicious. Thanks for yet another great lunch. Kid-friendliness: They offer kids bowls and have always been friendly and respectful to my kids. Food : 5/5 |
Atmosphere and service was great, you order before seating yourself which is alright they were very quick bringing us our food. I had the big city smoke and while it was okay the flavour seemed a little salty while still being a little bland, maybe I just haven t had a lot of ramen but it was alright I would probably come back in the future however trying a spicier dish for some more flavour. It did however seem a little pricy for what we got.
Yummy ramen, easy online ordering, good prices. The only way they could improve would be to offer a low carb noodle option e.g. shredded cabbage
Best Ramen in KW. They use some very unique ingredients like Kimchi tomatoes and pickled mushrooms. I highly recommend trying those
The whole family dined at the Kitchener location over the holidays. Food was delicious and so much that everyone took some home to enjoy the next day! Parking: Was perfect...Parking right in front of the restaurant!
Crafty Ramen is my go-to spot for a delicious bowl of ramen, and I cant recommend it enough! The (tofu/vegan) Tokyo Salaryman ramen is my absolute favorite - it never disappoints. What sets Crafty Ramen apart is their commitment to catering to all tastes, including vegans like myself. The vegan options are just as incredible, proving that they truly understand flavor and quality. Five stars for consistently amazing ramen and an inclusive menu!
My go to for ramen! Amazing food and fantastic service. They have incredible vegan options and their frozen ramen stands up to the real thing. Can t recommend enough! Dietary restrictions: Try ANY of the vegan options! They re incredible!
great vegan options! a little salty though
Tables were so dirty.
Our go to ramen spot in kw!
Amazing food. Service was fantastic - I showed up 30 minutes ahead of my designated pickup time, and they were able to accommodate with no problem.
Tokyo salaryman- salty and small portion. Taste was average.
The ramen was alright however the 30+ minute wait might have tainted my experience. Having a line of view to the kitchen, it s clear that they prioritize take out orders over people that choose to sit in.
Ramen was famously imagined as a self-contained universe, with life from the sea, the mountains, and the earth existing in perfect harmony. If that is true, then Crafty Ramen could be considered the master artist behind that harmony. Onto what I ordered! I got the Cold Seoul Ramen Noodles with Tofu - a medley of gochujang dressing, thick noodles, and tofu (my choice of protein). With each element of the gorgeous bowl blending well together, the spicy and tangy flavor of the ramen noodles popped through. Cooked phenomenally at the hands of an expert chef, the bowl was truly comforting and delicious! Highly recommended! Nice place to have some Ramen. The atmosphere is simple but nice. The staff was great. Very helpful and nade a point of asking how we were doing.
First time visit. Have to order and paid before finding your own seats. A bit surprised when I noticed the table was not really clean but it was a quick meal so I didnt bother too much. Food was there in minutes, I paid $3 extra for extra noodle and thats the portion you see in photo. In terms of taste I would say thats less than what Id expect. Perhaps I may try other flavours if I come again.
Great food for a good price. Needs bicycle parking and more customization of the ramen
Feels a bit rushed to order up front, but would give one extra star for the marinated egg alone.
I love ramen. And Ive been curious about it for a while this restaurant. I ordered Kaizen Warrior. Because, I want to eat Miso ramen and Menma (seasoned bumbo shoots). The soup was fantastic! But, little bit salty. Because, when I back to home way I was getting so thirsty. And noodles was less portion if compared to Japan. And cost was little expensive. We ordered 2 ramen and 2 can of pop then it was about $51. Thats why, Id give it 4 out of 5. The Seeker was shavings of dried sardines or dried bonito taste by soup. I am not big fun this taste of soup. But its common soup taste in Japan. I didnt eat ramen at restaurant long time. So, I was really enjoyed a lot.
Tried a new ramen spot but was a bit disappointed. The kaizen warrior was alright but the big city smoke was way too salty. Portions are okay but the flavours need some improvement. I hate to leave negative reviews but I am always honest with my experiences
It was good, I went there with my family and tried for the first time.
Wow, SO disappointed! I ordered the Northern Warmer from Crafty Ramen through Skip last yr, and it was amazing! Full of veggies, flavor, and meat. I decided on this cold rainy day to treat my Mom and I, but it was very soon regretted. Both Ramens werent made with Ramen at all! Instead, cold, stuck together spaghetti noodles, with a pinch of toppings and the broth to pour over. It was super bland, not spicy at all as stated. Not only did it take over 45 mins to arrive, it was almost cold and fatty meat too! Toppings were sparce, and even $2 charge for green onion!? Pretty sure with the noodles stuck together that hard, that they are pre cooked, possibly even days in advance, and just sealed in the bowls, ready to send off with liquid of choice. Idk how this place has such a high rating! I could whip up a better ramen from a package at home with my own seasonings & veggies. REAL ramen, not Spaghetti.
I went there for first time and it was good atmosphere and good food.
Place is nice, the service is OK. However, it is too expensive and the food is not that good. There are better options for the same or better price in my opinion.
Incredible food, very friendly staff and perfect atmosphere. And did I mention the incredible food? Also, the food is INCREDIBLE.
Charged us for 2 marinated eggs, gave us 1
Awesome atmosphere awesome food, overall great place with a bowl for everyone! I would recommend to anyone
The ramen was filling but it was more oily than Im used to!
Had an amazing experience at Crafty Ramen! Delicious food, high quality draft Sapporo and perfect ambiance! Patio available.
Great ramen. lovely brussels sprouts! You can bring your pup and eat outside!
Slow service on what looked like a not busy night. Vegetarian options: Many options available for vegetarians. Food : 2/5 |
I cant get enough. Seriously had to make a only once a week rule for my Big City Smoke extra Bok Choy and broth because Id go off and just have it every single damn day. Note: they dont always remember the beverage if youre doing delivery - still five stars!
I really like it, the summer bowls are great for those who are not a fan of usual ramen soup. Gluten free options good too.
Best ramen in Kitchener!! The taste is amazing and all their bowls are tasty and loaded. I highly recommend their Gryphon ramen as well as the one with sea salt. Other chains ramen is way too fatty for me, but Crafty Ramen never gives me any stomach issues. I was also very delighted to learn that the owners are a local couple from Guelph as well! :) and their at home ramen kit is also simple to use and at a good price! Additionally, I love the design and artwork of the restaurant as well as their packaging. One of the cons is that sometimes the table tops are dirty and have leftover crumbs. Other than that, this is a great place for delicious ramen.
They have a lot of flavours. I had the pork kaizen and it was yummy.. would recommend this place.
This place is the real deal. Every bowl is very clearly composed with an inspired intentionality, and the components of each are all high-quality. I love that they re all locally-sourced/regional ingredients as well. It s really rad that their noodle machine is in plain sight, and it s really gratifying for ramen nerds like myself to see employees working with it in real-time. Pay no mind whatsoever to the negative reviews saying things about salt levels or the noodles. If you enjoy real ramen, this is the place you need to visit in Kitchener.
Large portions, fresh and very rich in flavours.
Tastiest Ramen in town
We recently visited and enjoyed our meal. We went on a Friday, so it was pretty busy in the kitchen, but the servers were attentive and checked in on us while we were waiting. At this location, you pay up at the cash and take a number to the table, but we found that the servers were very attentive and helpful. We ordered the Korean Fried Chicken to start which was flavourful and tasted great! I ordered the Vegan Mapo Tofu Ramen with extra sesame tofu and pickled shiitake. I really enjoy this ramen, it has great flavour! One small thing Id suggest is that there are more pickled shiitake pieces for the upcharge, I think mine came with 3 small pieces for the extra $1.50. My partner ordered the Dragons Breath Ramen.
This is a great little location for ramen. My husband and I recently relocated to Kitchener and this is one of the places we visited yesterday. I got the chicken tan tan which was very flavourful and my husband enjoyed his meal selection too. The service was also pretty good. My only reason for 4 stars is its not high-end so theres a limit to the ambiance. But certainly great for a small quaint dining experience.
Very tasty ramen , nice atmosphere.
The Ramen tasted okay, have had much better Ramans Although their Fried chicken was very delicious.
I am giving it a 4 star only because the ramen is bit on the expensive side, the quantity of korean fried chicken you get is also not much at all (maybe all ramen is like that or its inflation who knows), but aside the price the food is top notch amazing, would recommend if you have the money!
Good looking restaurant, friendly server. The broth is a little low for my liking, the broth also did not taste as flavourful. The meats were not bad, nice cuts. Nice place to try once.
One of the best ramen places Ive been too. It took a while for me finally get around to going but Im glad I did.
Nice vibe and has a fun menu.
I had the spicy negi and super impressed! Super tasty with just the right amount of spicy. Food
We had veg and non-veg both here. In veg we tried the new Vampire Slayer. Had a smokey tofu garlic flavour bit spicy and tangy touch. Chicken Tan Tan - Very good taste. The soup tasted good with ground chicken.Had a spicy kick to it. Overall a good place with good options for veg and non-veg both.
If you wonder what a good westernized ramen place would be like, this is it! The food is top-notch for quality, taste, and presentation. The staff are helpful and friendly, and help you make an informed choice on your order. The dining atmosphere is cozy yet interesting, with a western design that dabbles in eastern interests. Parking: Being close to Victoria Park, the only nearby parking is paid lots, or at the park itself (which is a short walk away)
good westernized ramen place .. the food is 5-star for quality, taste, and presentation.
Kaizen Warrior with tofu was great! Vegetarian options: The way they prepare tofu is very tasty. Food : 5/5 |
Diarrhea after this
Everything are nice except food. Taste bad, seasoning are horrible. Also price are expensive and portion size is very small.
Nice spot in town for tasty ramen!
Atmosphere of the restaurant is great and you can clearly see the passion for ramen at this establishment. I had the big city smoke with a marinated egg and the wife ordered the dragons breath. Theres a difference between umami and salty, and unfortunately both of these ramen were too salty. The yolk of my marinated egg was ice cold, not sure if that was by design as I havent experienced that before when eating at other ramen shops. If it was by design then I think Ill stick to having a warm egg in my ramen.
We had a wonderful experience at Crafty Ramen in KW last night. I have been before, but I took a friend for the first time. My friend brought a service dog that she has been training for a few months now and in the middle of our meal, one of the staff members who works in the kitchen (I feel so bad because we didnt catch his name! He was tall with dark hair, I believe it was a big longer) came out with a bowl of water and a small bowl of unseasoned fries for the dog. He was so lovely and respectful when interacting us and with the dog, he came out a few times and stopped to say bye at the end of his shift. He showed us a photo of his own dog, and we could tell he had a genuinely kind heart. The food was fantastic as per usual but the interaction with their friendly team members was by far the cherry on top. Thank you for a great experience! We will absolutely be back :)
Great place for lunch or dinner. Home kits are good aswell.
Been a few times, never dissapointed. The food comes out fresh and hot. We will be back again soon ...
Always enjoyable.
Parking: Parking off Duke Street behind the Shoppers Drug Mart Wheelchair accessibility: They do have a ramp entrance, and it seems a little steep IMO. Also, the automatic door button was out of service. Food : 5/5 |
Had a very high expectation before coming into this restaurant.. the ramen and foods are overpriced.. and the food are not that much tasty .. tasted very good ramen than this .. the spicy chicken tantanmen was ok .. the Tokyo salary man and Spicey negi are ok also ok ..
Oh baby this place is good. If you enjoy a nice bowl of noodles I suggest you Godzilla size an order of the salaryman and be sure to add some kimchi tomatoes. De-lish November 17, 2023 Still as good as ever
Good experience, prices are a bit steep, but that is likely due to imports. A tasty treat on a cold afternoon!
The ramen here was unbearably salty :( disappointed however, my friend enjoyed hers Food
Great food service.
Amazing restaurant. Lots of selection, kids options too! I bought my daughter some fancy chopsticks and a spoon from the front counter, she loved the experience! It was our first time at this restaurant and the girl at the front counter was very helpful and attentive throughout our meal. Would highly recommend! Kid-friendliness: Kids sizing available, and you can customize if you have picky eaters.
Food was good. We ordered Spicy Chicken and gryphon ramen. Very nice staffs and good vibes restaurant Food
It was a great experience, the flavors were just right, the vegetables were very good and the proteins were excellent, I highly recommend it and I will definitely return.
The service was great, the ramen was tasty, and the space was awesome. I had the Kaizen Warrior (with pork) and the dish did not disappoint. With so many other options on the menu, I will be back to try something else in the future.
