By far one of the best restaurants in the Waterloo region, period. Made to order food made just how you like, with a variety of toppings and house made hot sauce. Be sure to check out the chicken sandwich. Massive!
My friend and I dined here around 3 PM and when we arrived there was only 1 other table with customers and they left 5 mins after we arrived. We sat and ate our food while chatting for a little over an hour and during that entire time not one single other customer came in. Shortly after the hour a man (I believe he is the owner) with the army style haircut came over to us and very rudely said "you need to wrap things up. We don't have that many tables". Again, we were the ONLY customers there and this was our first time there. They could have gained new repeat customers who may have recommended the place to others but instead now they will lose these new customers and I will suggest others to stay away. Good job buddy. Hope it was worth it.
Always a solid choice going here. Food is always awesome and fresh, made to order. Weekly rotating specials. Amazing value and nice portions. My wife got the 1/4 lb Angus burger and upgraded her combo to a poutine. I chose the Durninator. It's a 1/4 lb burger with bacon, cheese and brisket! Absolutely delicious. I also had chipotle mayo on it and was absolutely perfect. Small seating area. My only suggestion would be to have the gravy hotter. I really like that they have Bubly as an option for a drink.
First time eating at the Grill House, and I had an all around positive experience. A friend and I split a Schnitzel on a Bun, BIG Crispy Chicken on a bun, and fries. We wanted to sample each one. The portions were HUGE! Definitely great value for what you pay. The quality and freshness of the bun, toppings and meat was excellent. Fries are thick-cut chip wagon style. It was all delicious. The service was also great. Very friendly folks. I will definitely be coming back, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to my family and friends!
I have driven past this place so many times and I can't believe I waited so long to finally come in and try their amazing quaint little restaurant. Upon entry I felt at ease and was greeted by a lovely lady that took my order with a smile and friendly face. My order was a haddock and chips for takeout. They have about 4 tables that seat 4 each and a few extra seats for takeout customers. The cook was friendly, attentive and definitely understands how to run a kitchen. The kitchen is simple, all equipped and open for view. Some music in the background played out of a Dewalt radio for your listening/ waiting/eat-in pleasure. The fish was a delicious generous portion, fried to a golden brown and cooked perfectly. The "chips" are fresh cut not frozen. Everything was packed neatly in a quality take away carton, Not the cheap foam. These folks care about their customers. They have different daily specials that they run. Today was a Crispy Pork Belly sandwich that I still regret not getting in addition to the fish n chips. A no nonsense, budget friendly place that you have to try.
Amazing, all I can say. My wife and I drive from Guelph to eat here. The portions are massive, best burgers, fries and poutine in the Tri city area hands down. I had there special burger today that had beef brisket on a cheese bun and it was incredible. The owners are very friendly and the service is always fast. Small inside only 3 tables, but sit down to eat and watch the constant flow of customers for take out. They are pretty well always cooking. We shall return again!
Price can not be beat. We ordered the big crispy Chicken combo×2 and a chicken tenders and fries w a drink. $46.15 total. The chicken was hand battered to order and was fresh and delicious. Our choice of toppings and sauce helped make it taste even better. The fries are made in store and served straight from the fryer. The sandwiches are HUGE and cooked to perfection. Small little inside with only 3 tables. Most people order takeout. Owners were friendly and even gave us some chipotle mayo on the side to try. It was very tasty as well. Would definitely recommend if you want a great chicken sandwich at a low price. 13.95 for the combo. Pop in picture for scale.
I really enjoy their prices and tasty menu options. The fries are always cooked to order and they ask what topics you prefer; when driving home they add some ketchup so I can enjoy some of my meal. Very friendly customer service, if you haven't been already make a visit! What's pictured is an angus burger and beef brisket, really enjoyed them both

First time here.. (shamefully) but definitely will be my go to for a delicious meal. As I watched the food being prepared for myself and others, its obvious that the owners are particular about quality and good value. The burger and fries I had were one of the best Ive ever had. Cant wait to return and try the schnitzel on a bun and the chicken fingers! Both looked incredible!!!

Always drive by this place, decided to stop in after reading some reviews and all of them are correct. Angus Burger with Fries and Gravy $13 for an absolutely solid meal that had leftovers, Fries were fresh and perfectly salted and the burger you could taste everything in it. Do yourself a favor and stop into this hidden gem.

Tried the buffalo chicken sandwich. Giant tasty sandwich, good portion of fresh cut and well cooked fries, great value. From looking at old pics, the prices have gone up over the last while, but its still a great value - it would have been an amazing value before! Service was quick and friendly. Pretty basic interior with a few simple tables.

I just spent $36 on two Angus burgers that are clearly from Costco. For $18 each, I guess I thought there might be cheese and/or bacon as well too. Maybe a double patty. But nope, a Costco burger, small handful of fries and a can of pop. $18. The topping choices are plentiful though. Made fresh to order, tasted fine, just...not feeling full for the money spent has left me not wanting to come back.
A very friendly place to get a burger, fries, chicken, chili , soup, etc. Eat in or take out. The food is great and prices are very reasonable. Open Mon to Friday. Kid-friendliness: Special prices for students during weekday at lunch time.
Tried this place based on good reviews and was disappointed to say the least. Watched as 2 customers who were behind me got their orders first. Same items burger, fries, drink. As cook flipped the burger patty at least 10 times I was ready to cancel my order and regretted not doing so. Burger patty was dried out, leathery, tasteless, and the bun was also dried out from being on the grill at least 5 minutes. Fries were excellent and very good. Place needs a cook who knows how to cook a burger (not flipped 10 times) and needs only 2 minutes per side to be done properly.

The sign outside said $11.50 for the combo regular place $12.95 I got charged full price I just wanted a burger $9.95 but she upselled me to a combo and she said it to me as if I didnt have a choice. for a burger and a poutine I tried to make two separate orders but I ended up with a drink that I didnt want to purchase between the poutine and the fries in the combo I had way too much to eat and some of it ended up in the garbage french fries dont really make good leftovers. when theyre deep fried. burger by itself is 9.95 which is still quite a bit for a burger. My bill was $25.95. I think she added a dollar for a tip which also didnt want to give it should have been 19.95 for my order. the way I asked for it. I wish the chicken on the poutine had a non-spicy option like garlic or marinara but I ate it anyways and spicy food is not my thing
I place my order for burger and a poutine she decided to sell me a combo instead as if I didnt have any other choice my bill should have been 19.95 but instead I end up with a drink and too many fries that I didnt want my bill was 25.95 I didnt enjoy the pushy sales tactics
A little tucked away but the food was great! Tender brisket a side of fries and a coke for a fair price. They were very friendly and inviting. I will be sure to come back.

This gem should never be left hidden. It was worth heading up from Waterloo to have the pork belly sandwich. I am strongly willing to visit again to try the buffalo chicken one.
First time trying this place and wow the food is good, the grilled chicken with fries and even the poutine was really good definitely recommend trying this place.
This was great,my sister and I are from the school across the street I got the small fries(4.00) and my sister got the small poutine(6.00)Although four dollars might seem a lot for small fries they fill it all to the top and my sisters poutine had so much gravy(we didnt get extra gravy)I 110% recommend it as always is a HIDDEN GEM and the food arrives fast and fresh

I had the 1/4 lb Angus burger combo. Burger, fries, drink. Instead of fries I got the Greek salad. Omgggg this is now my favourite greek salad. They dress it perfectly, and there is a lot of feta on it, how I like it, and the salad is crisp and fresh. Yummmm. I also demolished the burger. So yummy. This is a great place with great prices. I need to try the grilled chicken and their fish n chips sometime. Will return!

One of the best meals we have had in Kitchener! Quality and portions are incredible. We had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich special. Blown away by the quality and taste of the chicken. Real chicken breast lightly breaded in almost a buttermilk breading seasoned beautifully. Fresh cut fries nicely salted. Second dinner was the Beef tenderloin sandwich on a baguette with grilled onions & mushrooms. So so good! Great flavour, the meat was excellent! No fat, no grissle. This will be our go to place for nights we don t feel like cooking. Very impressed!

This place is a gem. We are from Toronto and visited some friends in Kitchener. Got hungry and stop by this place. Man we got fish and chips and chicken sandwich it was really good and it was huge! The price is really good. They make it fresh as soon as you order it. Highly recommend this place. Awesome experience.

In the past two months weve ordered from the Grill House more then Id like to admit. I personally have tried the Burger, Buffalo Chicken and Schnitzel (3 times) on a bun and all 3 have been great. The fries are always cooked and seasoned perfectly. It is our new go to place.

The chicken sandwich....yes, its huge, and it is sooo crispy, and the chicken is so moist. Any fresh toppings you like. And I must say the fresh cut fries are truly the best in the region, they are crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside. Cant wait to go back.

Tired the grill house for the first time and was pleasantly surprised and disappointed at the same time. Ordered a chicken sandwich, burger and poutine. Watched him making the chicken sandwich and that thing is ridiculously big! Got a good size poutine and unfortunately a small frozen burger. After seeing the chicken sandwich I honestly expected more from the burger. Don t get me wrong it tasted fine, I guess I was just expecting homemade as well.

Love that they have halal options! Their gluten free burger buns taste so good! I drive 30 mins from waterloo to come here and enjoy a good burger. I m not into beef but the chicken options are 10/10. Also, the male (idk his name) at the counter is 100% nice and welcoming.

The burgers and fries here are definitely some of the best in the area! I can only speak for the veggie options but I m sure the meat options will only be better!
