Just love it...was pleased to introduce this Kitchener classic eatery to my dear Friend this week for the WONDERFUL Big Jims Breakfast. I look forward to returning next week & starting 2024 at Jimmys Lunch for this same great Breakfast Feast.

A time capsule with great food and unbeatable prices, one of my favourite spots!

Visit at least once a week. Owner present & sits with patrons. Decor is the owners 50,s memrobialia collection.......juke box, Elvis, Marylin, cowboys, statuary. Even worth a visit just to view. Free all you can eat fries & all you can eat toast. Staff very speedy & attentive. As a pensioner on a budget .... for two generous plates of home fries, eggs, large thiiiick peameal under $18.00 breakfast for two !!! .......I feel grateful to leave a looney or tooney and a twenty. Staff trully hurries sooo much, I feel unkind to visit if they are extra busy ( ie : Sat am ). Kws original well-known breakfast stop. You havent visited this area until you visited Jimmys.....robin Parking: Lots, ....of parking steps away. Right of busiest street in town

Its a great locally run restaurant with great food and big portions at an amazing price. Has a 60s dinner look that is welcoming. It will have you comming back for more!! Btw the pancakes are huge!!

Vintage vintage vintage. My first experience at this location and I ve lived here for 46 years of my life. Why did I drive by this place so many times and just keep going?? I ll ask myself this a million times. Anyways! Such a cool cool place old jukebox old toys lots of pictures and front end of a car behind the counter. The old stools at the front counter I m sounding so old but this place is something to be excited about. This brings back so many memories of the way Kitchener was the way I remembered it. It s only open till 1300 who cares support local. This I will as I relived some of my happiest times as a kid at this establishment. Ok!! Enough about the decor on to food. It was more than reasonable and the portions were perfect. It s cash only and I absolutely loved that. Service was good food came out hot and tasted great. I will be sitting up front the next time I enjoyed the back room but the front is calling me. Parking: It s around the back not to many spots but it s not a huge establishment. Wheelchair accessibility: I don t believe there s wheelchair accessible.

Had bottom less coffee +++ Its good at an affordable price this place has amazeing decor if you like retro signs and retro classic stuff this will keep your eyes more then busy and if that record player in the corner works Im in love with this place didnt have time to ask as I noticed it on my way out very impressed with this place Parking: Dosent look like it has much when you drive by it but when you relize theres a big lot behind its impressive for its proximity to the downtown core

This place used to be awesome but they got rid of all of the old staff and hired new people who arent very good at their job.

Came across this great little spot the other day. Ordered 2 cheeseburger with fries combos, and to be honest its the best burger in Kitchener, the lady who greeted me was kind, and the gentleman who cooked was nice as well. I went back 3 days later, and the cook this time was a lady with blonde hair, short girl, and to be honest watching her take care of my food was atrocious. She kept putting her mask up and down, up and down - caught her handling my food with it down. Also she went to go throw what looked like a take out container in the garbage, in which I saw her hand touch the garbage bin and bag, and she didnt wash her hands afterwards before handling my food order. She was dropping frozen fries on the ground, dropping pans, picking those up without washing her hands. Seemed like a nice lady, but a train wreck to watch handle my food, and anybody elses, and especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. She should definitely not be working in a kitchen, not at all. I worked in Restaurants for 15 years, from the bottom to fine dining, and if my bosses ever caught me doing all that she did, I would be fired on the spot. I give this place 2 stars because of this experience, and will only go back when the gentleman cook is working. Maybe.

One of the most unique places in Kitchener. Many locals dine here and the atmosphere is great. The menu is minimal but the food is excellent.

The temperature of the restaurant was so hot my boyfriends blood pressure dropped and i had to call an ambulance to get him before he passed out. I reported them to public health and safety.

Good people, morning till 1:00. The decor is awesome and the food is just as good!

Seen this place my whole life and finally tried it a couple months ago. Ive been missing out, been back a couple times and going agian today. Service is amazing, food is amazing and the price for all the food you get is amazing

One of a Kind amazing place for breakfast plain ordinary simple prepared well quickly and at very reasonable prices endless toast and home fries free of charge. Personally I avoid Saturdays one because its fully filled no waiting outside but filled up and I pity the two people that lovingly make the food rapidly a lot of work for them theyre sweating so maybe pick another day

Wonderful restaurant!Great service,and thank god for our wonderful rosy cheeked amazing cook!She has and her mother and sister turned it into a superb diamond of the best breakfast in all of Ontario! The owner is also a very kind and generous man who I personally know and he is one of the most standup men I have ever met! I still love his food and the service is still phenomenal! Excellent as always, its a shame they cut their hours again. Though I will always love the great classics that Jimmy does so well.

Great price and good food! I typically get the BLT and home fries, which makes for delicious breakfast or lunch. The atmosphere is of a very informal hole-in-the-wall. The only downsides of the place are that its cash-only and the hours are fairly limited. (Also if you get the pancakes they are enormous, each one is basically a full frying pan in weight)

My fiance and I were very excited to try this place and has good reviews, honestly I cant understand why. My food was cold, asked for no onions with my home fries and got onions in them as well as they were very undercooked, my toast was so loaded with butter it was soggy and not very toasted, my eggs were scrambled (I requested) but taste like oil. I ordered an earl grey and and got tetley. The waitress seemed very confused.......she didnt want to be there. The cook was very unclean and grungy. I will never eat there again and unless your looking to get ill I wouldnt recommend you do either.

Absolutely love this place , my husband and I come once a week now and i come in with my mom as often as possible. The food is incredible just like the atmosphere . There are awesome things to look at , great waitresses who are all very friendly and warm . And the cook is amazing and friendly and awesome. Good job guys keep it up !!

Jimmys has now reopened after their closure due to COVID-19. You wont find a better or more authentic 50s dinner in the area. Cash only. Hours have increased from 9:30 am to 1pm (last order).

I would like to give the waitress ZERO stars. The place it self is small and neat but we came in on a Monday the waitress was rude the service was very slow and the food was nothing special could of made better at home. Its hard to support local small business when you come and get treated like this. Also the waitress/cook wasnt wearing a mask which we found odd and heard someone also point that out. I would not recommend this place lots of other small business around that would love and appericate the business unless this place.

Long live Jimmys Lunch. I wouldnt say its good but it is what it is and thats why its good. The atmosphere, the regulars, the staff. Its not going to blow your biscuits from a food perspective but youll definitely want to take a nap in the corner and read the paper with most of the other cliental.

Went at 12 and they said they were closed..drove there because it said they were open till 12:30! I just wanted my food to go so would have been less then 15 mins..

If you want to travel back in time and satisfy your taste buds, go to Jimmy s lunch. The food portions are generous for the price. The hours kinda suck (like most women do). The cute guy driving a red Ford truck goes there all the time and looks like a whole meal too. I ll definitely be coming back for the food and the cutie xo

Good portions and breakfast was great. Employees looked like they enjoyed working here. Felt like being at home.

Get there before noon and they only accept cash. Prices are unbelievable and they give you extra home fries and toast if you just ask. Food is wonderful and home style, delivered quickly. Staff is proficient but need to be kept on top of or they might forget about you or parts of your order, mostly because they are so busy. Cant beat the decor and atmosphere it is literally a slice of the 50s it has been around since then and everything has been maintained and kept in mint condition. Pictures of Marilyn and James Dean, and others and vintage statues and decorations everywhere you turn your head! I go there regularly the only regret I have is I lived down the street from it for 3 years before I tried it out, missed a lot of great breakfasts.

Jimmys is getting popular. Its lost the grit and historical patina that made it a cult favorite and become more polished and more accessible. Gone are the self serve coffee days, but Jimmys is securing new clientele the old fashioned way. With good food.

This place is fabulous. I went for the first time today and it will not be the last! The folks are friendly and the food is very reasonably priced and incredibly tasty. A must visit.

Cash only but.... This place is the bees knees. One pancake the size of a football is $2.20!? Light breakfast starts 1.90 to the typical lumberjack breakfast for less than $10. Would go again 12/10. I wish we had one in Etobicoke.

Cash only, open until noon, but fantastic food for a phenomenal price! You may have a wait if you go on a Sunday around 11, but its always worth the trip!

Food tasted really good, there was no complaint about it. One may experience slow service, thats because the place was full. I have to tell, they serve a lot of food; we even had some leftovers to take home. Ive been planning to go there for some time, and I did pay a visit with my friends yesterday. We didnt know how large portions were until we got our orders.

Went there for breakfast with my grandmother had our breakfast but unfortunately neither of us noticed the cash only sign on the door upon finishing our deliciouse breakfast and found out the cash only policy I told the owner I would leave my phone and go grab money to which he replied our breakfast today is on him.. was a lovely breakfast and everyone was verry friendly. And not just because of the free breakfast but the overall experience I cant wait to go back again

I was so looking forward to eating here I was sent to order food for 10 people for take out not that busy no one waited on me as I sit for 15 min but looks like the food was great to bad

I use to come here with my grandpa when I was a young boy, and tried to keep the tradition going with my son. Today we went in, place is as busy as always. Sat right at the bar and waited for 15 mins for anyone to even look at us. Listened 2the waitress complain to her regular customers about one of the cooks. When she finally made it to us she asked if we wanted a menu !? ok fair maybe people know what they want but still. Took forever for her to come back to take our order. When the food was served it was cold, not luke warm..COLD!! The home fries werent even close to being done. Not sure why the waitress asked how we wanted our eggs, those were half cooked. I asked for onions with my homefries, came plain.The 2 older gentlemen sitting to our right were LOUD and cursing about American turkeys. I am sad to say I will never be going back to Jimmys.

I really enjoy these small cafes for the easy going atmosphere and almost always fantastic food. There are no disappointments here. My fault but I didnt notice no CC payments accepted so that caused a little problem but the cashier was helpfully and we found a atm across the street. Try this place

Will never be back. Have had bad experience here before but thought would give another chance. Waited forever...as in 3 cups of coffee. Food showed finally. Ordered homefries without onions and they were loaded. Said I would like without and she said sorry thats what you get. No I would like them without. We are to busy to make without onions. Left money for the coffee and left.

Jimmys lunch wow its like going down memory lane. Oldest restaurant in Kitchener. Havent been there in years. Awesome friendly owners and staff. Breakfast was delicious great menu options. Good value for the buck. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended by this group.

Never heard of the place, sister introduced to me. She never heard of it either before someone told her as well. Friendly staff, had a great conversation with one of the cooks, our server was awesome. Small little diner that does breakfast and lunch. Decorated with old memorbilia, like Betty Boop. Prices are amazing. Food is pretty good, at least what I tried, you get good size portions, as well as unlimited toast and home fries, not something you see a lot. Not overly big, seating does seem somewhat limited, espically as the place has a whole host of regulars. Defiently worth checking out if you like cheap, good breakfast. It is a hidden gem on Victoria Street.
