A hip pizza place with other Solid food if not pricey with lower portions and amazing quality. Service is excellent, the venue is rather lacking however and can be an odd set up/experience to dine in. Cocktails are worth it tho

Took my buddy out for his birthday and got some amazing fresh pizza. I got the Caprese Pizza and he got pepperoni. Got to come back and try the others. Aaron was our server and was so quick to serve us and very polite. Ill definitely be coming back, thanks Aaron for the wonderful hospitality.

I recently visited The Civil, and I cant recommend it enough! The pizzas are outstanding fresh ingredients, and a great variety of toppings. The drink selection is equally impressive and they perfectly complement the pizza.Overall, The Civil is a must-visit for pizza lovers. Ill definitely be back for more!

Best pizza I ve ever had. I ve never been a fan of fancy pizza, I ve always considered it to be a cheap grub food. Until I tried the Civil pizza. Every single pizza on their menu has unique style and quality flavour.

Great pizzas and the flights are a must try!

Just went for the first-time, unbelievable how good this pizza is. The dough the cheese are the best Ive ever had in my life. The service was a little under par I felt like the server never checked on us or anything but other than that it was a good experience and I will back for more.

I went there a while back and pizza was spot on delicious. Probably the best Ive ever had. I just dont understand why they cant make bigger pizzas and have them delivered to your door. They would be so busy. The music if it can even be called music was horrible.

Ive had the pleasure of visiting The Civil in Kitchener twice now, and both times have been amazing. I can confidently say its my favourite pizza in the city. The creative and colorful drinks are just an added bonus! The service is also wonderful, and very accomidating of special needs and events. The patio also makes for a great outdoor dining experience.

Fabulous gourmet pizza, lots of unique choices. Cocktail flights also available. All very reasonably priced. Staff courteous, friendly and knowledgeable.

Food was amazing (ordered the pesto pizza) and service was superb. We did have some significant waits but that was no fault of the waiter. Seemed short staffed and I felt bad for him.

Update August 2024: stopped in for a pizza (the dill pickle one) and some blackberry Negronis. Very good with friendly service and pizza was excellent. Appreciated the pizza and salad for lunch. Friendly service and a tasty TWB beer on tap!

We had never been, but friends from out of town booked a reservation here due to proximity to an event. What a nice surprise. The food was great and I couldnt stop eating. Would gladly return.

The girlfriend and I had heard about The Civil a while ago and hadn t had the chance to go, finally yesterday we got out of the house and were lucky enough to stop in! Surprisingly quiet for a Saturday but atmosphere was still fantastic, we were warmly welcomed by Cameron and Lily, it was about 10PM when we arrived and they assured us it wasn t too late and didn t stop smiling throughout the experience Overall the food and service was fantastic. We will certainly be back for seconds and more! Thank you again Cameron and Lily for the phenomenal service and experience

We stopped in for the lunch buffet and it was amazing! The staff were super friendly, the atmosphere was very casual and relaxed and the smell of fresh pizza was incredible. The pizza buffet had a number of different pizzas to choose from, with new ones being made and restocked regularly. The price was definitely affordable, and the pizza was mouth-wateringly delicious. I havent had dough this tasty in a long time. The unique flavour combinations are great, and even the simple pepperoni pizza was beyond expectations. We will have to come to try their enticing selection of flights.

We love visiting for the cocktail flights. Highly recommend the spicy margarita flight that is currently being offered. Their cocktails to go and boozie slushies are also a very nice treat. Pizza is always cooked to perfection and dont skip out on the insanity loaf!

Great value, tasty food.

I never felt so unwelcome in my life. Very poor wait staff. Very unattentive. Took a long time to clear any tables. I asked for more water half way through my meal and never received it. The restaurant was not very busy. At least four tables were empty. We had to ask Several times for another cocktail. Never returning

Yes, the pizza is unreal. The cocktails are a little on the simple side, however the flavours are excellent. Would love it if they had a few more beers on draught. Will definitely be returning.

Not bad, but not worth the price

This was such a fun place to try - we will definitely be back! We tried two pizzas (Denim Tuxedo and Civil Disobedience), the dipping sauce platter, and the Margarita flight, and everything was absolutely delicious!

Ive been to this place a few times now, but my last visit was the best. I took over the whole restaurant for my 60th bday and the service and food was fantastic. I had over 30 people all sending me messages how great the pizza was and the cocktails were fun and delicious. Everything is made on site, and with high quality ingredients. What I especially appreciate is Brandons (owner) continuous support of the community from participating in local events to donating a portion of the Cause Pizza. I love supporting people that care about people that are less fortunate. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I have been here twice, this time was a special occasion for a birthday. We had an awesome server named Aaron. Always checking on us asking we needed anything, how the food was. We all had good pizza, we had the smash burger which was good n a bit spicy, also had other pizzas too. Also enjoy the infused flights, but it was valentines infused flights. The service was amazing, Ill definitely be back, my family enjoyed it .

I eat lunch here on a weekly basis and it cant be beat for value, tastiness and service. The staff is friendly and has good vibes and you can easily have a sit down lunch in an hour. Theyve recently renovated to add some half booths which was a great call. When coming for dinner plan to have a cocktail as they always have something unique.

Edit: I spoke with Brandon the owner and agreed to come back. As previous the pizza and drinks were great. Both Brandon and his brother were apologetic and made sure we had a great time. While they could have just ignored it, they owned the issue which says a lot. We will be back. I recently dined in at The Civil with some friends. I had heard great things about it and was eager to try it. On arrival our waiter, did seem relatively new to the role, to give this context, I have worked in Food and Beverage in 6 countries for large luxury hotels. He was pleasant and made every effort to accommodate. Received our initial drinks and they were well presented and tasty (Flights). We ordered pizzas and my girlfriend made sure to advise the waiter she does have a gluten intolerance and ordered the gluten friendly specific pizza crust. When her pizza was brought out, I clarified with the waiter it was gluten friendly and he said yes. Immediately following ran back to the table to let her know he made a mistake and forgot to make that note for the kitchen and he would get it fired immediately. To this point no issues and it was handled well. I understand mistakes sometimes happen and appreciated his sense of urgency in resolving it. They also waived the charge for her pizza which I thought was a kind gesture. The new pizza took approximately 18 minutes to come out of the kitchen. At this point everyone else is done eating. What really left a negative taste in my mouth was the conversation I overheard between our new server and who I believed to be the manager. His words were you need to go talk to that table, there time is up and we need the table, They need to settle the bill. I can appreciate that they have policies in place and agree with the application of it, but at this point, my girlfriend has just gotten her pizza, is a slice in and we now have a waiter telling us its time to go. We were not here this long because we wanted to be, but rather as a result of you and your staffs actions, or lack there of. I am disappointed that we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience in a situation that we had little control over. The pizza was great, and overall the service was okay, but in light of the way in which we were treated, I will not be returning and could not wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone else.

This is my favorite restaurant. The insanity loaf is so good that its absolutely addictive. Ive tried a bunch of their drinks and havent found one I didnt like- and Im usually kinda picky. They shake up the menu often so you can try all different kinds of cocktails. I like that their drinks are unique instead of the boring classics you get everywhere else.

Went here on NYE for cocktails and a pizza. The cocktails were absolute fire. Every single one was delicious and I drank them way too fast. The pizza was the best and now this place will become my fav pizza place and cocktail drinks too. The place was cute and the music and vibe was on point. Our server was also very friendly and attentive. Can t wait to go back and try all the rest of cocktails and pizza on the menu.

What a gem! We had an amazing experience there this past weekend. The cocktails were amazing, we had a whiskey sour flight, a few old fashions (fantastic), the bubble special among others. The peach brulee and the hot chocolate were absolutely amazing. The pizzas were also delicious and fresh. The gluten free crust was a little corn heavy and over done and could be improved on but they were very busy as well and the overall experience was amazing. This is definitely going to be a regular on our KW restaurant stops! Owner was awesome, upbeat and very accommodating. You have to try this place.

Tasty and creative cocktails, and delicious pizza - how can you go wrong? Ive been here a couple of times now and both visits had excellent service along with a very enjoyable meal. I tried a fleet of whiskey sours in different flavours recently and was ready for a second round because they were SO good!

First time ordering takeout ordered 4 different pizzas and garlic bread all the pizzas were fabulous so flavorful also garlic bread so good. When we went Inside to pickup staff was so welcoming and very friendly. Will be letting our friends know how delicious pizza was. This will be our new go to pizza place best ive tasted! Parking: Lots of parking easy access

Pizza was decent but way too hyped up. Dough seems to be rushed through the proofing process. Toppings are great though. Pizza gets soggy and unedible. Customer service was lovely. Advice: get an experienced dough maker, dont cheap out. The thought and creativity is there guys, just work on the execution and youre going to do quite well after the honeymoon stage.

The pizza was to die for! I got the Panchetta Brie-Lieve It, it is cheesey and creamy and fluffy. My partner got the Korean Pork Belly, it was like walking into a Korean BBQ restaurant. Very flavourful. Ordered the flight in non-alcoholic, love that option.

Great food, great drinks, and superb customer service. I had spilled my flight and they were very helpful in getting us to a new table and replacing my drinks. They made me feel less embarrassed about the whole situation with their calm demeanor, which I very much appreciated. Thank you for such a great experience :)

Checked out The Civil to see if the high reviews were legit and it definitely did not disappoint! We had the Korean style pizza and The Cause special for the day. Both were delicious and unique! Food service was quick and servers were friendly. The dining in area was quite small though so I recommend making a reservation if you intend to go in a larger group.

The Civil has incredible pizza AND amazing cocktails and I cant recommend them enough! We have also worked with them through Dog Friendly KW and theyre great to work with and such a fun addition to an event. Whether youre looking for take out pizza, a place to meet up with friends, or a date night - the Civil is definitely the place to consider!

Went to check this place out because I read reviews, I was absolutely impressed. This place is small and quaint (if you have a big party I suggest that you make resos) The drinks were phenomenal, the presentation was just WOW! They have a pizza called the cause which gives an amount of your Pizza to local charities. I thought that was a great incentive. Always happy to give back. Great work!

No complaints but nothing awesome except perhaps the service. I enjoyed my pizza. The beer on tap isnt my style. A beer for everyone so I found it boring and too sweet.

Huge turn around since our last visit! I had written a poor review a couple of weeks ago and Brandon was incredibly kind in following up. We decided to stop by again this past weekend and had a great time. Our server was easygoing and he was efficient and friendly with everything he did. We all got a slushie which was insane and they let me trade out the vodka for gin which I really appreciated. Half of us got a second drink and all really enjoyed those as well. I recommend the slushies, the whiskey sour flight or the peach brûlée drink! We sat on the patio and as soon as a nicer spot opened up a server asked if we d prefer to move which was very conscientious. Overall a great time, already planning a trip back!

Excellent cocktails and pizza, great service

Been there on a quiet evening. The atmosphere was so nice and friendly. We were excited to try out the dishes as we did our homework before going to the place. Ordered a pizza and two drinks and it was above and beyond our expectations. It will be nice to have more options in the menu though. Keep up the good work, surely will come back to try different dishes.

Not much of a review but 2 of us walked in and waited to be greeted/seated and that didnt happen for 15 mins so left. Waiters and waitresses knew we were there and we had a reservation but oh well. Will never be back to be ignored.

Such a great atmosphere and experience!!

We really went for the flights of the different drinks that offered. My table people ordered the margarita flights the g i n flights and the Pina Colada flights they were disappointing watered down 2 oz of alcohol in each flight and the different the flavors where you couldnt even tell them apart... disappointing. On the flip side of that the pizzas were excellent we were all very happy with our food. so balance it out if youre going food or drinks. if youre going for the drinks Id give it a pass if youre going for the pizzas yeah its a definite 7 out of 10.

What a fantastic local destination! Pizza was AMAZING! Absolutely loved the cocktail flights, finally a flight for the non-beer drinkers. There was a small mixup with our reservation however the customer service was great and they even brought over a round of drinks on the house. Would highly recommend making a reservation since the space is not huge. Can t wait to go back!

Entered with a coworker. No indication on whether we should wait to be seated, so we just walked up to the counter and stood there...waiting to be acknowledged. Eye contact was made, but they looked overwhelmed and chose to ignore us. They were clearly busy, but customer service did suffer and they seemed understaffed for lunch. Waited for about 15 min before we were acknowledged and then we were told it will be 25 min before they can take our orders. Didnt want to waste more of our lunch time, so we left. No judgment on the food, but would have appreciated better service or communication. Wishing you all the best. 2 stars. Update 1 after the reply from owner: Was willing to give this place a second chance, but since were splitting hairs (in the reply that was now removed) on the amount of time we waited before being acknowledged - perhaps its not meant to be. Amazing food, excellent cocktails, wonderful atmosphere, and awesome people, what more could you ask for?! I love their inventive drinks, flights, and pizzas. The Cause pizza is such a great initiative and everything I ve had during my visits has been delicious.

Everything about our visit was really good. We all LOVED our pizzas. The crust was flavourfuk and not super thick, and ample toppings for the size of the pizza. We got 3 different cocktail flights and found each to be really tasty and matched how they were described in the menu.

Visited this restaurant recently and loved every moment. The drinks are simply delicious and unique. The pizza is fun and inventive with great taste. It would be awesome to see them expand to a larger location as they fill up extremely quick. Staff was great to deal with. Overall, it was a great experience. Would definitely go back

Nice looking place but all 3 of us had such awful rock hard pizza with no taste. Literally could barely cut through with a knife.

Tried the Civil for the first time based on all the awesome reviews on Google. Also checked their Instagram where they heavily promote awesome looking pizzas and cool cocktail flights. Sadly, we were misled. Our experience was not good. We arrived 15 minutes before our scheduled reservation, and were seated promptly. Waited 15 minutes to order drinks. Once our cocktail flights arrived, we ordered two pizzas. Waited 45 minutes for food before politely letting the server know wed been waiting awhile. Five minutes later (50 minutes wait total) our food arrived. The pizza was hot, but it tasted okay at best. Pizza sauce was bland. The cheese had no flavour. Toppings, nothing special. Didnt taste like quality ingredients at all. $19 is too much to pay for pizza here. The table beside us also left a full, uneaten pizza. I overheard that the waitstaff took the pizza off the bill, which is nice. In summary: - Service was slow - Wait staff was inattentive - Cocktail flight while a cool concept, drinks were average - Waited 50 minutes for two pizzas - Pizza was okay at best - Would not return :( This is a small restaurant, it was a Wednesday night. There is no reason why two pizzas should have taken 50 minutes to make. I do hope this business will take the feedback and try to improve. Sadly, we wont be returning, as there are far better quality restaurants with better food and better service in the area. I share my experience here as I rely heavily on google reviews when choosing a new spot to try. In this case, I am baffled how this restaurant has over 4.5 stars. Such a cool place! We were looking forward to trying the flights and we had mixed feelings. The pina colada ones were mostly ice. The margherita...I really enjoyed it. Not a lot of alcohol but it was good nevertheless. The sour whiskey was fine too. Could also use more whiskey but we loved the way they make the different flavours. So creative and yummy at the same time. The pizzas...we had the cause which was ok. We found it too sweet but had to order another of the one that has brie and pancetta...that one only deserves a come back!!! The dough is delicious too. We ordered a spinach, feta, strawberry and pecan salad and we liked it but it had sooooo much balsamic vinegar that we had a hard time eating it specially the bottom leaves as they had most.of the vinegar. Service was exceptional! I should have noted the name.of our servers but forgot so thank you all! We felt welcome and cared for!! Ordered a few times.and did not have to wait much for new drinks or even for the other pizza we decided to order again!!! We are coming back for sure! Perhaps to try other drinks too!!

Great pizza, fancy cocktails, nice vibe

Loved their pizzas, probably one of the best. Pizzas had that garlic butter taste and crunch which I really liked.

We arrived for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon and received a warm, friendly greeting. Our whiskey sour and gin and tonic flights were delicious, and beautiful! We appreciated the time and attention to detail that went into preparing and garnishing them. Our pizzas were absolutely delicious and arrived in a timely manner. Our spinach Caesar salad was unique and very tasty as well. We thought the pizza and salad lunch deal for $15 was terrific value. Our server was attentive and friendly. We will definitely return to The Civil!

Excellent food

We just stumbled upon this cozy spot and had an amazing time there. We tried their Pollo Pesto pizza. It was delicious. To complement the pizza, we tried their unique Margarita flight, with lime, strawberry, grapefruit, and watermelon. It was a delightful treat. Each margarita was refreshing and perfectly balanced. (They had a Monday special: 10$ for the margaritas when you order pizza)

First off, I have never left a food review before and I ve been to some delicious places. This is the best wood fired pizza I have ever had - actually best pizza period. The flight of pina coladas was so delicious. We went for lunch and wanted the pizzas that were on the dinner menu and we asked if we could have them for lunch, the chef said yes. So accommodating and we will definitely be returning. We all shared the Donair pizza - trust me, get it! Also yummy was Korean and civil disobedience. Not a pizza on the menu that you won t love. We will be back

This place came SO close to a 5 star review! Ill start with the positives. Our server was super kind, helpful and gave us a killer recommendation -- which was the boozy slushie. Wow that had to be one of the most delicious summer drinks Ive ever enjoyed. We had a garlic bread appetizer which almost had a pan-pizza quality to it. So good! And the lunch special was very reasonably priced. They also had a lot of cool flights on the menu for sampling which Im excited to come back and try. The only negative is that the pizza didnt quite live up to expectations. I love that they are always trying new featured pizzas with inventive topping combos, but our pizzas were a bit soggy in the middle. Either the oven wasnt hot enough, the toppings had too much moisture or the sauce was heavy. Im a bit of a pizza snob so I was disappointed by this, but I wouldnt be surprised if they improve in this area over time.

Open table suggested room for reservations every 15 minutes from 7-8pm. Coming from out of town we figured no need for reservations. We got there and were turned away open table lies or they don t follow bookings? Sad we didn t experience this place

Loved this place. Small and cute, very vibey. Tons of parking which is hard to come by in DTK. Didn t try the pizza but had the garlic cheese bread and a whiskey sour flight. Both were fantastic. Really neat drinks!

First visit on September 7th 2023. - food: ordered the just all the pepperoni pizza. Legit, one of the best pizzas I ve eve tasted. They offered their house truffle aioli which was off the hook. - drinks : ordered the smoked old fashioned what an experience for the palate and nose. - value/service : price is remarkable and service is on point. Overall: standout pizza with great cocktails. A must go for anyone in Waterloo or visiting Ontario.

Service and food is amazing.

An excellent dining experience from start to finish. Not a lot of seating so Id recommend booking a reservation, but youll be happy you made the extra effort. The drink flights were made to perfection and complemented the appetizer and pizza wonderfully. The service was top-notch and not one but two servers came by often to ensure everything tasted great and our drinks were topped up. Cook times were a bit lengthy, but defintiely worth the wait - We also went on a busy night so its no fault of theirs. The pizzas were unbelievable. The variations on traditional pizzas made for a fun journey to find what best suited your tastes that night, and upon arrival would mystify you with their aroma and stunning visuals on the plate. Each toppings flavour comes through in every bite and doesnt let up from tip to crust. The crust being one of the most impressive parts of the meal - To the point you almost want to eat it first... almost. Portions were also big enough that we all had a sizeable amount to take home. For our first time there, we were blown away and look forward to going again with our friends and family. Thanks for an amazing evening!

Have been wanting to try this place out for awhile so finally went expecting it to be good but highly disappointed. The service was not great, one of us ordered a smoked cocktail but the smoker wasn t working so he just said are you fine without it and never offered anything off the price. The pizza was good but nothing special, we then waited like 30mins to finally get the bill meanwhile there was only 4 people in the place. We only got it because we had to waive him down. Never wrote a made review before but highly disappointed. Not worth the price

Perfect place to go with friends. Pizzas are great and the cocktail menu is awesome. Atmosphere is nice. It s not too loud or crowded. Will definitely return!

The Civil is not a place to be missed when you are in the KW area! They have extraordinary pizzas and cocktails that are so wild and delicious! You can tell that everything in the restaurant is well thought out and reflects their atmosphere perfectly! The civil is our favourite place to recommend to friends and family and we never can wait to visit again!

This is my favourite place in KW. Ive tried every cocktail and have yet to be disappointed. The owner is extremely creative and is always developing new recipes. The menu rotates frequently and often features fun holiday themed items (most recently spooky Juice - a halloween themed cocktail). The owner is friendly and personable. If you talk to him for 5 minutes, he wont be able to hide his passion for this place. They often are involved in community events, while also hosting various events of their own (such as movie nights or tarrot card readings). It s refreshing to see a business that cares more about the customers and the community than about profits. I encourage everyone to support local businesses like The Civil.

The waiter was very accommodating to us as well as getting everything we needed. I got the gluten free pizza and it was really good, especially folded. The crust seems to be more corn based than other places so its an interesting taste.

Made a reservation for 8 (party of 4), but had to wait until 8:30 before being seated. Pizza also had mushrooms after explicitly asked for no mushrooms (didnt mention it there because we werent in the mood to wait another 15 minutes). Serving staff was apologetic and friendly and offered a garlic bread for the table. Food was decent and cocktails were good.

Our server, Kal, was very accommodating to our alterations and requests. She really made our experience super enjoyable. We tried out the margarita and G+T flights which were so fun! Great selection of vegetarian pizza options. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but we didnt have to wait at all for a table. The restaurant is near an ION and bus stop. It also has ample parking options in a free lot shared with a few other businesses

I loved my lunch, pizza was delicious with innovative toppings, salad was super fresh and full of flavour. Honestly best lunch spot around. I ll be back to try the gin flight maybe after work.

We heard about how great this restaurant was so we had to try it. Absolutely amazing. The food was incredible. The drinks were so tasty. Very cleans restaurant with great service. We will forsure be back!

Popped in for lunch and was very happy with the whole experience. I usually avoid downtown for lack of parking with small kids but the resturant has access to a large lot, loads of outdoor space and great indoor vibe. Pizzas were delicious with unique topping combinations- highly rec the Pollo Pesto! Service was great too, server was very friendly, didnt rush us and kept coming back to check in. Fantastic!

This is not your usual pizza place! Interesting, tasty, unique fresh toppings (with creative names:), great cocktail flights, good service and a funky ambience! I have been a few times and will go back and will definitely recommend to my friends!!

Pizza was super tasty and fresh and a very good selection. Im not a gin lover but the server and owner were quick to.accommodate with another alcohol. Great ambiance and friendly staff! Cant wait to go back!

If a dining restaurant only serves pizza it should be stellar. This was mediocre at best. Crust was very dry and crumbly on all 4 pizzas our table ordered. Pros, service was attentive, and friendly.

Came here for lunch with my wife - we had a salad and small pizza each and it was the perfect amount of food. The pizza was fantastic - the crust was so light and fluffy (for both of ours, mine was a regular crust and hers was gluten free). Highly recommend!

I love this place! Have been twice now for lunch with co-workers and cannot wait to head back for dinner out with my partner. From start to finish, this place has it all - parking, ambiance, boozy cocktails, tons of cool pizzas, excellent customer service and great prices. I highly recommend the You Seem Like a Fungi pizza if you are into mushrooms. It was ridiculously good and rich. It isnt even on the lunch menu, but the owner made it for me anyway! Even though I didnt order it, my seatmates loved the spinach ceaser salad and I was quite jealous. To top it all off, I had a virgin Pineapple-Lime Slush. Run, dont walk.

The food and experience was AMAZING - not to mention the pineapple slushy.They had a variety of pizzas to choose from, I would definitely recommend taking a trip to the civil :)

This place is pretty neat, but tiny! The patio was just a walkway and our table could barely hold any of our food and drinks. The drinks were great ( we all tried a different kind )and the food was pretty good. Be warned half the pizzas are actusll7 Flatbread with few toppings, making them very dry. We had a regular pizza in comparison and it was so much better! The waiters were super nice tho and overall a great place for the summertime.

Creative pizzas, fun atmosphere, and attentive staff. They are very accommodating to make ingredient changes. We had tequila flights and shared a variety of pizzas. The veggie pizza photographed has added pineapple. It got a bit pricey by the end, but 4 pizzas was also way too much food for our group of 4 people.

Delicious pizza

If you love pizza and a great atmosphere downtown kitchener then you have to try the Civil! The pizza is absolutely delicious and they have a great drink menu - including flights of gin, takeout cocktails, and lots of other options! Not only is the food great but the service is just as good. Ive been here twice while pregnant and the waiter made me a virgin watermelon margarita that I didnt even order! It was such a nice surprise, and cannot recommend this place enough!!!

Booked a table of 10 with my friends and they were very accommodating of our large group and made our dining experience very comfortable. The pizza was some of the best Ive had in the KW area with crispy but soft crust. Every pizza had a completely unique flavour and quality ingredients. The Gin and Tonic Flight was probably the best out of the three options as the margaritas were a little too sweet for my liking. I would recommend this place to anyone thats looking to have freshly made unique pizzas in a hip and comfortable spot!

This is one of my favourite restaurants in downtown Kitchener which serves one of the best pizzas I have ever had! Brendan and his staff are friendly, kind and they consistently deliver! Check them out and see for yourself. You will be coming back again and again... I guarantee it!!

Great pizza, the specials are a lot of fun and portions of the cost go to support various charities. Recommend getting a dedicated cocktail rather than the flight, but it generally depends on how much you like margaritas or gin cocktails

This is definitely the best pizza and salad restaurant. We are returning regularly to try them all. Very creative cocktails as well. For us this is a fantastic place to go for excellence food and lots of parking. So glad the Civil opened!

What an amazing place with delicious pizzas and gin float!!! The Thai pizza was their cause pizza where $3 went to a charity. It was the best pizza and so flavourful; all the ingredients worked! The second spicy Cheeto pizza also worked so well and also actually had a kick to it. Leftovers tasted even better the next day!

The insanity loaf lives up to its name - the most insanely good garlic bread I ve ever had. You cannot go here without getting! We also had the Pancetta Brie-lieve It and the Korean Pork Belly. Both were delicious!! Would highly recommend this place. Can t wait to go back and try more, all their pizzas have unique and interesting toppings!

We waited longer than expected, and felt the servers could have been more attentive rather than chatting with each other. The spinach ceasar salad was basically a pound of spinach, with a glob of dressing, and a few croutons/prosciutto bits. Underwhelming. We shared the Gin flight between two of us. Strong on Gin, light in flavour. Definitely get your own flight. Pizzas were the best part! Amazing! Hoping its better next time!

Went there for the first time - had the Red Curry and The Bouje pizzas. Flavours were great, crust was perfect. The cocktail offerings were awesome and they do non-alcoholic versions. Definitely recommend.

Amazing pizza and even more amazing staff!

With such positive reviews I was expecting great things from The Civil, however I ended up being quite underwhelmed. My pizza was soft and damp underneath. It almost seemed like it was fried, but not in a good way. The whole thing was quite doughy, and the crust wasnt even puffed up. It reminded me of a cross between a beavertail and naan bread. Our group ordered the holiday drink flight, which also ended up being a let down. The drinks were milk based with 4 different flavors. Each of which had so much ice in them they just ended up tasting like watered down milk with a bit of flavoring. I did try the peach brulee cocktail as well, which had a great flavor albeit lacking punch. The best part of The Civil was the customer service. Staff were friendly, attentive, and everything came out quick. I love the concept of pizza and craft cocktails, I just think it needs some work.

Enjoyed lunch here a few times. Service is fast and friendly and the food is fresh and tasty. I certainly recommend it for a quick lunch. Menu is small, but thats what keeps the food good! Would like a bigger tap beer selection but what they do in stock is local breweries. I rated the atmosphere lower because most seats are exposed to the door. In the colder month you get quite the draft when the door opens and closes. So the reminder to dress warm is by the doors.
