598 Lancaster St W, Kitchener, ON N2K 1M3, Canada
Spacious, venerable bar/eatery with refined seafood & steak mains, plus Sunday brunch & a salad bar.
Friendly and accommodating staff and the food was delicious. Golf's is famous for their prime rib and it's well deserved. Thick, juicy, nice sized portions, prepared just right and so flavorful. Rooms are available for large parties.
What I love the most about this restaurant is its quaint ambiance and really great food! All entrées are served with their daily soup, a bread basket, and access to their salad bar. You will not leave here hungry. For the price, you can't beat the quality and quantity of food served at the Golf's Steak House! We were celebrating a birthday on this occasion which came with a large slice of their Cherry Cheesecake for the bday boy. Hubby and I are not fond of Cheesecake but truth be told, we ate the entire slice! It was delicious! It's hard to come here and not have a steak as they're always on point, but this time around, our table expanded beyond the beef and tried the chicken breast (amazingly juicy) and the Orange Roughy fish (would have licked the plate if I could have delicious). We were NOT disappointed ~ all three were succulent. I strongly suggest making a reservation as it is rightfully always busy!
Absolutely amazing. From the staff to the cleanliness to the food. A+++ we went for our anniversary and what an anniversary it was. I would recommend this to everyone you will not be disappointed.
Hands down my favourite place! As I enjoy my prime rib dinner for a fair price. This place have been around forever and I’m very thankful it is still operating so well. Brunch is amazing here as well. Thank you for continuing to deliver such amazing food to your customers at a very fair price. Best take out.
Large group dinner. Food was great and our server very good. But if you are going to spend what we did i don't want to feel rushed. Make sure you ask how long you have! Great find and portions so worth the visit!
*avoid this place at all cost. NOT CELIAC SAFE Golf steak house in Kitchener/ Waterloo. I called ahead to ask about options before we attended the wedding. Was told, all good, and celiac is super common for them. I was to be given a stir fry. Got there tonight, and talked to 3 servers before hand to make sure all was still good. We were told they forgot about the celiac meal. Out came this meal, I double checked with the server twice to be assured that It was fine and was told all is good. The meal is celiac safe. 10 bites in, I found a noodle in my dish. I was then told it was not a gluten free noodle and that they « apologize for the inconvenience » Inconvenience? I had to leave the wedding that we drove 9 hours to with cramps and nausea. Now I wait for this to get worst. I never eat out and of course when I do, this happens. We deserve better.
Loved the food. Had a 12 oz steak. Comes with soup and Salad bar! Bread so tasty and the fried calamari. Bday girl had rack of lamb. Prices are sooooo good. I can't even imagine a 12 oz steak from the Keg. I'm from Bolton.. worth the drive!
Went after hearing about it, and the food was fantastic. The portions were great and the quality of the meat was excellent. We got the surf and turf and the butter being on the side is greatly appreciated, as it lets me choose however much I prefer. The kids menu has good choices for kids who are usually a bit more picky. The salad bar was also great, with some options that aren't common elsewhere. Overall it was a great experience and thank you for the birthday cake! Next time I'm in town I will definitely be returning. Thanks Hayley for the great service!
It was fantastic as always. We were there for my parents 50th wedding anniversary, and they were treated amazingly.
Food is always good. No complaints there. Had a christmas party here, and there were 7 people, and 2 DDs.. but we got cut off after 6 shots and maybe 2 or 3 mixed drinks per person. No one was belligerent, too loud or acting stupid or anything.. so Im not sure why we got cut off. But anyway, we wont be having christmas partys here in the future. Again, Food was great!
All the men s urinals are covered in garbage bags. Very run down, this place needs to be leveled
Good food and good atmosphere
Not a good experience in terms of service. Difficult to track our waitress down. I needed my water refilled because the mash potato was very salty and I couldn t get her to refill my water. The water was not refilled until the very end when I was getting the bills.
Love it great food.
Always excellent. Do our company dinners here most times.
Had a birthday celebration Meal was excellent and Andy our waiter was awesome Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available Wheelchair accessibility: Is wheelchair assesable
My wife and I enjoyed a delightful meal on Friday Nov.30 2024. From the warm welcome at the door and the pleasant attention of Melina P. who took care of us for the evening. We sampled, French onion soup, bacon wrapped scallops, surf & turf, chicken, cordon bleu and topping it off with Creme Brulee. The price was very reasonable too !
Love the prime Rib. Great service. Very fast
This is honestly the best place for takeout. Their food is always and I mean always on point bang for your buck. This is the best place for prime rib lamb you name it. It s amazing every time.
We had our work Christmas party there. The food, staff and bartender were all amazing! Dinner was buffet style with lots of vegetarian options and 2 meats. Food
I wanted prime rib for my birthday dinner and Golfs delivered, including a lovely celebratory slice of cheesecake!
Went for the first time this past weekend. Loved the salad bar. Loved the ice cream dessert. Didnt like the butternut squash soup nor the veg that came with our entrees. No one at our table knew what it was. We think zucchini, didnt recognize the rest so we all left it. The salmon wasnt cooked enough, had to send it back. 2nd time same thing, so I left that too. For what we paid, wasnt worth it, sorry. Probably wont return.
Andy provided amazing service! Would come back just for him!
Andy is an amazing server with a personality that really made our visit welcoming and fun. I would come back based on the service alone, but the food also happens to be top shelf. Bon appetite!
Good food and service. Olivia was excellent as our waitress Chicken Parmesan and prime rib were to their normal high quality Parking: The lot looks full and you wonder how everyone fits in the restaurant but there are parking spaces as well as room inside!
Our server, Jaidyn W. was attentive and very helpful. The food and service was excellent. Great value. Best Steakhouse in Waterloo Region.
I found the food quality to be pretty low, some of the food I ate seemed to have gone bad and some didn t smell good. When my sister visited earlier I quality was great, but the day I went there it wasn t, so I m not going back.
Best restaurant with great owners. Always enjoy our meal and the waitresses and waiters r amazing. Special shout out to Hayley tonight for the great service. Made us laugh !!
The first time that I didnt have steak. For a change up I had the ribs and they were excellent. As always the soup and salad were top notch too. Wheelchair accessibility: There is an elevator, but not at the main entrance. A little inconvenient, better to call upon arrival to arrange for the elevator (an attendant must operate it).
Best buffet I have ever been to
This place cooks like my Mom.it was so good. You gotta watch it.the tummy can only stretch so much!
Meh place to work, foods great though.
mehhh - dont see what the hype is here. I was invited to a celebration at this restaurant, and we had a choice of 5 or 6 main courses. The seats were quite cramped and close together. The dish i ordered (prime rib) arrived in adequate time. I was surprised no choice of vegetable...in fact all the meals i observed around me had same vegetable - oily green beans. Wow ... thats one expensive vegetable. I have medical condition which can not tolerate gassy veggies - had no main course veggies, its good i ate a bit more from salad bar. The prime rib tasted fatty and sinuey, a cut from a prime elderly livestock. Entire meal seemed bland with only taste coming from sour cream accomodating the baked potato. Dessert consisted of choice of only 2 selections. The main dish also was not that filling either. Service was average to good.
Golf s was a nice experience, we shared a bottle of red wine and a delicious dinner. The rack of lamb with mint jelly was very good, portion sizes are great. It s not often I leave a restaurant full! Thanks!
Hosted a large group here for a birthday party - Golf s was very accommodating with the arrangements and received superior service from the entire staff throughout the event. Food was delicious and cooked to order without fail. Highly recommend this location. Thank you George and staff for making this event special.
My family and I have been dining at Golf s Steakhouse for over 20 years, and after a few years away, my recent visit reminded me why I love this place so much. I brought my team here to celebrate our 3-year agency anniversary, and the experience was outstanding. From the timeless and elegant ambiance as you walk in, to the exceptional service, delicious food, and overall atmosphere, it was a memorable evening. If you can, try to get a seat in the solarium it s truly special. Can t wait to go back!
Date night was amazing tonight at Golf Steakhouse. Not sure why we have never been here before, but it will now be our regular place to go. Food was so delicious. Prices were reasonable. Service was great, never needed to ask for anything, it was like they could read our minds. Hubby had the surf and turf and I had the chicken and ribs. They even have a salad bar! Desserts were fresh and hit the spot. Great night out.
Jesus Loves you! Had an amazing banquet there and the staff and food was exceptional! Couldnt of been more happy! Food : 5/5
Was here a few weeks ago for a surprise birthday party for my mom. We had 2 dedicated servers for our party and they were both phenomenal. They worked together, communicated and took care of our party very well. The food was good and what you would expect from a steakhouse. No complaints.
Wonderful people and delicious food thanks .
Wonderful ballroom experience, nice for large group
Weve been here a few times now for Sunday brunch. I think the decor and furnishings need to be renovated as the chairs are stained and wobbly, the tables are chipped and carpets stained. The wood finishes are covered with food splatter and dust. The last time we visited, the service was less than stellar, food was ok.
The Golf Steakhouse in Waterloo is a great spot with amazing steaks and an all-you-can-eat buffet. The ribeye is my absolute favorite! My kids love it too, making it a perfect family outing. We visit at least once a month, and it never disappoints!
Great value for money, very good food. Soup, salad bar and garlic bread comes with your meal. Recommend highly for prime rib. Food
A great place for parties.
Have never had a bad experience here. My family frequently dines here for our special occasions.
Friggin amazing! I went with my daughter for the breakfast on Sunday- 100% hands down amazing keep up the awesome work , there servers are on point people are so friendly. I will be back thats a guarantee. Kid-friendliness: High chairs available I think I saw them bring out 20 that Sunday musta have been w convention , friendly staff , just dont bring a screaming kid and ruin everyone elses brekkie
Really excellent prime rib roast. Large salad bar
Went for my brothers wedding reception and the staff was excellent.
Overall, decent. Its a little outdated but still a nice place. I did not take photos. However, everything was almost on point. I dont think anywhere I can afford will get a perfect score. Steaks were cooked to perfection across the board (we had sirloin, filet mingon, t-bone, and rib eye). Their garlic mashed potatoes were wonderful! The dessert was pretty awesome, I had a carrot cake, and my wife got their reeses pcs. pie. 1-10, Ill give it a 6. Not a regular restaurant Id go to, more for special occasions. For 2 people, with drinks, dessert, coffee, and tip, it was about $200. Once a year is ok, I think. Anyways, chow, enjoy your visit. Maybe your experience will totally nix mine??
3:00 Sunday afternoon, they would not allow us to come in to eat as everyone else is doing sitting there filling their mouth with food and no explanation as to why .
The server was very nice, attentive and polite. No complaints at all on their behalf. The settings were nice and the tables were nice as well. The general atmosphere is very dated from the mid 90s. There was also a hole in the tablecloth right in the middle. There was also a dried on chunk of, something on my water glass, which I didn t notice until the end of the meal. So that was kinda gross. My main issue was the portion sizes. Ordered a charbroiled chicken breast and it was a small breast butterflied to make it look larger. The piece, even butterflied was the size of my palm. It came with a handful of fries and green beans. Everyone at the table agreed that the green beans were not tasty and passed on them for their meals. The chicken was very dry and tough around the edges. The chicken tasted good, just overdone. The fries were great, but just not enough. Think a small juice glass filled with fries to imagine the size. The plates are tiny to make them look more full, but everyone commented on the small plate sizes. Their dinner plates were what you d expect a salad plate size at other restaurants would be. For $28 + tip, I left hungry and am currently making a second dinner at home.
Treated my Mom and some family to dinner here last week and it was a great experience. We ordered the Charbroiled Chicken Breasts, Chicken & Rib Combo and the Surf & Turf. Everything was cook well and tasted great. Service was good. Our server was friendly and attentive. The place itself is getting a little dated but interior is nice. We sat in one of the side rooms that had windows and with the sun going down it created nice mood lighting.
Always a good meal at a good price!
We were a table of eight for a birthday celebration. I enjoyed the variety of foods that were available for brunch. My family loved the beef ribs. I also liked the options in the salad bar. The Unlimited mocktails were also a plus. In terms of service, Valerie was our server and she was amazing - very polite, attentive, got us anything we needed. Thank you Valerie once again for everything!
I ordered their prime rib and it doesnt taste good at all. Very disappointed.
We keep going back because of the location and the atmosphere. The food is good for a brunch. Staff are always very polite and attentive
We had a great time. The salad bar was fantastic. The snitzel was a little tough but it had a dip of marinara sauce that was excellent. The wife had three appetizers. French onion soup was mediocre. The escargot was a mess of cheese. The calamari was super salty. Some improvements needed
Salad bar was fresh and nice variety; premises need to be updated, it s like stepping back into the 70 s, food (steak and lobster ok but not great), service was good. Won t rush back.
We use to visit this establishment all the time , but we have not been there in years til tonite We brought the family there for thanksgiving and we were very disappointed The salad bar was terrible , the onion soup was good , 2 people had the turkey dinner , it was awful Large mound of stuffing ( which wasnt good ) with a thin slice of turkey on top The gravy was tasteless The prime rib was not cooked as requested The orange roughy was tasteless as well , the rice was dried out and crunchy , veggies were over cooked , The only good thing was the server , he was amazing Needless to say , we will not be returning
Simply AMAZING food! Our table of six all said this! Friendly staff too. The owners son was very hospitable! Definitely going back!
Good place to enjoy a good meal
Food was terrible. And the seafood was not even edible. Do not recommend at all.
Best value for money! Excellent food. I love going to gulfs. Never feel like we didn t get value. Food : 5/5
Went there for my birthday with my mom. We had the best prime rib dinner ever!
We go there often for Sunday Brunch!
Very disappointed. The service was great but the food was not reflective of the cost. Not one meal of 5 was prepared as ordered. The bill was also very confusing as they changed the billing system used. Not impressed.
My husband and I had the Golf Steakhouse host our wedding on August 10th and we cannot say enough about the wonderful service we received. From start to finish, George was an absolute gem to deal with and he certainly made planning our day extremely easy. I might also add he was always very very prompt to answer every single one of my MANY questions. Both my husband and I, as well as all our guests couldnt say enough about the delicious meal that was served. Furthermore, the staff provided exceptional service throughout the entire day/evening. We would definitely recommend hosting any of your events at the Golf Steakhouse.
Everything was perfect, food ,the service (Hayley was great , we celebrated my kids birthday and it was a great experience as it was our first one ,never the last ...
Always great food, service and value. Never disappointed.
We enjoyed brunch at Golfs on Sunday to celebrate my M.I.L.s 94th birthday! It was a large group. The well trained waiters who took care of us were excellent at making sure we had what we needed. They kept checking back with us to assure our satisfaction. Although the food was excellent with many, many choices, the service was the highlight! They even brought a desert with a Happy Birthday message written in chocolate to the birthday girl! Great job girls!
Went for a Sunday brunch, Such amazing options with pasty s as well.
We had a fantastic dinner on Monday Evening at the Golfs Steak House in Kitchner and our food was amazing. We had a very lovely waitress Laura B. she was cheerful and very attentive and kind. Her service was amazing and she definitely is a great asset to their restaurant. So if you ever want a great night out, go there trust me it is worth it. Sincerely Holly Parking: Lots of parking at the Restaurant on 598 Lancaster St. W Kitchen Ontario Wheelchair accessibility: They have an elevator for helping with Wheelchair, Walkers and people with Canes a staff member is there at the elevator to greet you and take you up to the restaurant
Very dated, food is over priced
Sunday brunch with kids, beautiful view. Great food . Nice selection. Better prime rib than Ive had in exclusive Toronto steakhouses
Great service Delicious Food
I have just had my wedding ceremony and reception and the service was amazing. Great pricing, service. George and Gus were amazing. Will come back for any event. Michael Murphy Food
I just had my wedding at the golf steakhouse, and the service was incredible, George and Gus were amazing pricing was reasonable. I will refer golf steakhouse to everyone as they have great service great food. Thanks again for making our wedding exceptional Luisa Szugyi
Great waitress. Wonderful food
Couldn t be more disappointed For decades, Golf s Steak House in Kitchener has been our go to restaurant for a special meal. It has always been great food and a pleasant experience. That changed tonight. We ordered our usual, my husband the prime rib, and myself, the petit filet. The first minor disappointment was the smaller slices of garlic bread, cut from a baguette, and a little crunchy, instead of the larger softer pieces. Nothing major. The salad bar is still terrific, and the sides were delicious. However, my filet, though cooked perfectly, was tough, I couldn t chew it, and sent it back when the waitress showed up to remove my husband s plate. The is the 2nd time in my life I have sent a filet back for being tough, with two very different responses. The first time was The Keg, where they replaced, not only my steak, but the sides as well, which I had already eaten from the original entree. To. top it off, they also removed it from the bill. Golf s solution was to offer coffee/tea & a dessert. I don t drink coffee/tea and I don t eat dessert. She brought our bill, and the machine to pay (which had a larger amount in it, by more than $25). When I asked about the bill I asked for a discount on my meal because I couldn t eat the meat. I would have been thankful for something off, not free, as I did eat all the parts of the meal. When I spoke to the manager on departing, he told me the chef tasted it and didn t find it tough. The customer isn t always right. The filet is supposed to be the most tender cut, which is why I order it, as I have trouble chewing. My hubby s prime rib was more tender than the filet. Guess we re going to have to find someplace new.
We had to do takeout (we picked up) as we were sharing with someone who is housebound but very discerning with food. Everything was well presented, hot and very tasty. The portions were great for takeout and we all commented on the superior service. Thanks again, Golfs, for making this a great night.
Excellent service. Nice salad bar. Had shrimp & scallops and the bone-in ribeye. Steak was a little under done (rare leaning to blue versus medium-rare as ordered). Fries were excellent. Good deal at $120 for two with tip. Huge meal. Will be back.
Good Food. Salad bar was Good
WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!! I came here with my sister on August 2nd to celebrate her birthday and we left with big smiles on our faces and our bellies full. First of all Hailey was an amazing server, very friendly and welcoming. Thank you Hailey. Everything was absolutely amazing. Our drinks were super tasty, the alcohol wasn t over powering and they were garnished wonderfully. The salad bar was fully stocked and very fresh, being able to customize your own salad was a fun and enjoyable twist! The soup of the day was also delicious, I myself am picky when it comes to soup but I just couldn t get enough! I got the shrimp cocktail for my appetizer and I don t think I ve EVER had fresher shrimp in my entire life, and I ve been alive for almost 30 years and boy oh boy have I ever ate a lot of shrimp in my days. My sister got the surf and turf with mashed potatoes and enjoyed it all. I happened to get a little taste of her mashed potatoes and it Made me very sad I chose a different side over the mashed potatoes. I got the sirloin with fries which was absolutely delicious. The only thing I would say is that my steak could have been a little more rare (however, that s my fault and I only blame myself, NOT THE STAFF WHATSOEVER). I always get nervous ordering my steak blue rare because I m worried I ll get made fun of : ( . So due to my own insecurity I ordered it rare instead, still 100% delicious :) In conclusion, we were both very satisfied with our experience and CAN NOT WAIT to come back before we move 3+ hours away in the fall and can never come back again HOLY COW!!! I almost forgot the staff were so kind that they included a scrumptious FREE cheesecake on the house for my sister for her birthday. Talk about good hospitality, eh?
NOT ANYMORE!! Garbage. That is the new defn of Golfs steaks and food. We have been eating Golfs for years - they were our fave steak house for years. Not anymore. Our orders over the last two months weve noticed a MASSIVE drop in the quality of both the cuts of meat used and the sides included with the steak dinners. Caesar salad as a side was always a choice with the striploin steak - now its $4 extra. The garden salad you get now for takeout is literally diced lettuce w some cucumber. No big deal. I didnt even care about that so much - as long as the steak didnt change! Well it has. I love steak. I make my own ALOT so I know a good cut versus garbage. In trying to save money (guessing) Golfs have clearly changed their beef supplier. Put it this way, when my steak was delivered last night - it was like a piece of shoe leather. Fried zucchini on the side? Like, mush. Im not even kidding. SO bad/disappointing that I actually drove it all the way BACK from my house to the Golfs dining room. I walked in to show them, along with receipts. That.. is how bad it was!! True story. Heres the kicker. I didnt want my money back, I told them. I wanted to ask, if I was a first time customer - would THIS be representative of a Golf striploin steak?? I thought this was an anomaly. A mistake. A one-off. Throw it in the garbage, I said, and turned to leave. Wait! She yelled behind me: Do you want a replacement or upgrade to prime rib, if its quicker? I dont want anything I didnt pay for, so I said no. Just the steak?, she asked. I only have about 5 minutes, I said (I live and drove from St Jacobs). So, the steak was replaced in a new brown bag, I left and went home. When I opened the replacement steak at home, although certainly fresher, it was the same garbage cut of Canada A (maybe?) beef. Im not kidding folks. This meat was SO tough & riddled with grissle that my steak knife couldnt even cut it. Just like the first one, my knife just kept going back and forth - it would never come apart!! Used to be you could pull it apart with a fork! So tender and delicious. Not anymore! Threw that one in the garbage too. I tried but..it wasnt even edible!! Folks, my wife and I have been loyal Golfs customers for years (and years) - striploin, every time. THAT is why I drove it all the way back. Not anymore. Ill never dine or eat Golfs again. If you value your money, I highly recommend you dont waste it here. And wasting it is exactly what you will be doing. I would rather pay MORE for a better cut of steak. But charging the SAME price for what is clearly MUCH (much) lower quality beef and putting the Golfs brand on it is downright criminal. No more. The end of an era I guess. Too bad. Ill really miss the old Golfs steak house. Golfs has undergone a rebranding: Golfs Budget Cuts and See Food akin to your local Walmart striploin and Highliner fish cakes. Its a very sad day!! 1 out of 5 (solely for the soup)
Took the BF for brunch for his bday. Everything was fabulous except for the seating: big round table right by the passthru to the buffet and I had to sit right in the opening while people walked back and forth to the buffet. It was awkward.
They took away my favourite bread and replaced it with crusty dry garlic toast that should be used as croutons. Probably won t be back unless they reverse this obvious attempt at saving money.
Always a fantastic experience at this long-standing KW tradition. Bravo to the Kanellis family and their wonderful staff.
Great food and service. Really enjoyed the prime rib
Golfs has always been an important place to my husband and I. We had our wedding reception there 25 years ago, and when we came recently for our 25th anniversary dinner Golfs made the extra effort to make it perfect!!
I would wholeheartedly recommended Golfs Steakhouse for any occasion. We recently had a rehearsal dinner for 28 and the experience was entirely positive. Food was all delicious and service was great with lovely capable servers. We had a personalized menu including pictures of the celebrated couple and they turned out great. The process to make that happen was effortless. We had six members of our party cancel at the last moment and the restaurant made that shift with ease. We also had young children, an infant and a celiac. All our needs were cheerfully accommodated and everyone had a great time. Thanks to owners, staff and management for a memorable night!
Its my favorite restaurant to dine at. I go here for all my special occasions. The food is excellent. Well, portioned items. Ive never been disappointed with anything here. The service is wonderful, so welcoming and attentive. The restaurants interior is a bit outdated. Needs some updated features. Very clean and neatly set up tables, a semi casual environment, lots of parking, perfect for that special occasion.
We love going here every time we are in the area. The staff is wonderful and the food is great. Wish we had a place like this in Windsor area.
As always, a fabulous experience. We were there for Fathers day and everything was perfect
Great salad bar, tasty soup and meat cooked to perfection. Friendly, polite staff Food
Was there for my sons wedding. Amazing food and the best staff. They made it a very special evening and I appreciate them a lot
Food is ok except for the salad bar which just looks sketchy. It also feels like youre eating in a seniors care home. The average age of the customers seems to be around 90. Nice, efficient staff. Garlic bread isnt toasted...very weird. Not for young people looking for a night out but the perfect place to take your granny for an early dinner.
We were here for supper last night. This is our favourite place to go for dinner and brunch! Not only is the food great but the service is too. Valerie is awesome! The salad bar is included and you can pick & choose from a good variety of salads. Steaks are cooked just the way you ordered. If you havent been here yet - youre missing out on an awesome meal.
Incredible meal, the salad bar is a nice touch.
Buffet with good options, reasonable price and outstanding service
Had a pleasant time today with two friends. Really enjoyed the dinner.
Golfs is one of our favorite places to dine. The staff is amazing. The food is amazing. We have gone there without a reservation and they have bin so helpful staff staff staff! Thank you all. We dine there often and are always impressed by thier service and staff. And value wow soup and salad bar included plus a view Vegetarian options: Wonderful options...pasta plus others Parking: Great Wheelchair accessibility: Elevator and plenty of staff to help fantastic
This place never disappoints! Great food and service.
This place looks soo nice. The complimentary bread was yummm! and T bone is superior. There s an open salad bar and I wasn t sure what some stuff was but overall it was good. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I wish I took more pictures.
I ve been coming here since I was a kid with my parents, now I m 56 and come here every year for my wedding anniversary with my wife. Never disappointed!!
The cuts of meat with the correct term that we requested, thanks to the chefs and the service was all excellent!
Awesome place hidden in smallish town. Food were done well service were awesome ! Will visit again in the future
The salat bar and main course seasoning was something that will bring me back again. Excelent food, atmosfare and service.
I normally only like to post positive reviews however I must make an exception in this case as a warning to others who are heat sensitive. This review, ironically, has nothing to do with the food as I did not have enough of it to review it, even though I paid $39.95 plus tax and tip for the Sunday brunch. The group of six who I was treating to brunch today arrived at noon on a warm Sunday afternoon (humidex 34 C). We were seated at a table under a glass roof that was covered with blinds. It was, despite that, almost 85 C in that area. I am a very heat sensitive individual and was immediately uncomfortable. I made one selection from the buffet, did not even finish it and had to leave as I literally could not stand the heat any longer. While the rest of my party ate, I sat in the parking lot with my air conditioning on and I was paying! Our server was told about how uncomfortable I was but at no time did he offer us a table in a cooler section of the restaurant. He was however, okay with taking my $270.00. Be warned, if you are at all heat sensitive, avoid this place like the plague.
In this era of inflation, Golfs still delivers great value. All mains come with garlic bread, soup, unlimited salad bar, side and vegetables. Its an institution for a reason!
We chose Golf s for organizing our wedding reception dinner. I would like to express my heartfelt disappointment with the services and the laid back service which we received. Our simple request to just modify the only Special occasion menu to include a veg option and replace a Chicken option to Chicken Parmesan was not honoured. No appetizers were served during the cocktail hour upon agreeing to it during our last meeting. guests complained about being hungry until the dinner was served. Communication on their execution plan from golf s did not exist at all. There was no checkin from Golf s end after the dinner or during the dinner if it s going as planned.not even one contact was made by Golf s for any clarifications during the complete process. however, the servers (Mario, Jaden) were good and did their part. I am still giving one star for the sake of servers otherwise Golf s doesn t deserve any. Table arrangements were changed and was not same as the discussed plan which led to additional cost on decorations. No one from Golf s informed us about this change. We had been in touch with golf s since more than a month, wanting to plan out this and everything was kind of all over the place on the Big day. I will not recommend this place for any mass event planning. You failed us on our day.
This is a good value if you dont care about the dated decor and mindset. Beer and cocktails were affordable, and so was the food. Wow, this is the first time Ive seen Jell-o in a buffet. I questioned the cleanliness inside the kitchen, as there were many flies, and the ventilation duck looked like it never been clean since the restaurant opened. I was worried about food poisoning, but I woke up just fine the next morning.
I was here for a marriage reception. Everything went well, the outdoor area was well organized and the view was beautiful. The food was great and I enjoyed it. The staffs were friendly and helpful. Overall I had an amazing experience. Plenty of parking availability.
Good food. Has a salad bar, right? Havent seen one outside of Chinese buffets.
Went to Golf s for a work event. Had a great time. 5/5 recommended
I came here for a Guelph Hyundai dinner, I would 100% percent recommend dinning here!
I came here for a Guelph Hyundai dinner and would 100% recommend to come here. Wonderful staff and environment.
Came here for a Guelph Hyundai work event 10/10 would recommend
Came here for a work dinner and it was fantastic!
Great food and great service. We had Andy as our server, and he was absolutely exceptional!!
Excessively expensive for the quality they offer
Rib Steak was delicious
Myself and my family have been coming here since I can remember. It has always been the best food and service in town. Every visit feels decadent, the food is delicious, and with a wide selection of choices on the menu its hard to stop despite the portion size being generous. I almost always go with the chefs cut of prime rib. This last trip, however, I threw in a lobster tail and sampled the rack of lamb my girlfriend ordered. All was to die for, and thats not even mentioning the bacon wrapped scallops, escargot, or creme brulee we ordered for dessert!
Food was great, service was great, you never leave this place hungry :)
We have been going there for many years and never been disappointed. The food, price and salad bar are always up to par and we look forward to the chicken livers in the salad bar. Yesterday my wife ordered the prime rib regular cut and I had the strip loin. The meal also included bread (kudos) which apparently many restaurants are not including these days. Presentation and portions were up to standard as well. My only criticism which is why I am posting this review was I found my veggies and soup were extra salty, the potato soup was great apart from being salty. Also I found my steak while cooked to my specs, did not taste as if it was charcoal grilled (??). Please do not construe my comments as being detrimental, but I felt obligated to at least mention this. I did mention this to the server who said it could have been a different chef that evening. My wife found her meal to be fine...maybe it was just me.
The place could use a little updating.Went on a busy Saturday night! However,we were seated immediately at a nice table for 4 people, with A bit of a window view. Our server was very good. The prime rib dinner Was very good and an excellent value for the money considering all the Side dishes, too! The bottles of wine were good and priced well! The Salad bar wasnt as good as it use to be,the only dishes appearing fresh Was the lettuce and the cucumber salad and they were fine! It was after 7 00 when we arrive and the entire salad bar needed a Refresh.....i thought some of the customers could have left their Ball caps and jeans at home, but, hey free country sort of.When it comes To attire anyway! Would return for the prime rib dinner anytime!!!
An absolutely classic. Always had the best experiences there.
Family anniversary party and the staff and food were lovely. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free was available with notice. Recommended dishes Prime Rib Dinner Extra Cut
Excellent food!
Great spur of the moment experience. My wife had been here 30 years ago and said that it hadnt changed. Which turned out to be a good thing. The food was great as was the service.
Super delicious
Old school Steakhouse, This Steakhouse is far above the chain restaurants like the keg. Although the salad bar needs a bit of revamping, everything else is on point. The quality of the food as well as the atmosphere speaks for itself. You can also call ahead to ask for seating with the view of the grand river. If youre looking for negotiation & class, put on a delightful outfit and enjoy your night out! It wont break the bank. Wheelchair accessibility: Not all areas accessible. Although there is an elevator to help.
Great little spot! Very dated and it gives it this very comfortable atmosphere. My steak was cooked to a perfect Chicago medium rare and the crab legs were a very generous portion. What got me was how great the price was.... definitely going back.
Am I the only honest person here who is going to review this place!? This is NOT worth 4.5 stars nor the price. Food came over cooked, flavorless steaks, mushed asparagus, very chunky gravy, and the salad bar is I would not even consider mediocre. The waitress was meh, unapologetic about the food. We complained and didnt hear from the manager. We didnt even try to eat our meals and a bill for 186 dollars later. We heard 4 other tables complain about their dinner. Do not waste your money or time.
This is by far the best steakhouse in the Tri- City area! We eat here regularly. Mike and his staff will do their very best to ensure your visit is enjoyable.
We went for my FIL and BILs birthday. The servers were great. Ours had an awesome sense of humor. The buffet was good, though lacking options, what was there tasted great. Their accessibility left a lot to be desired. You have to go to a completely separate entrance and buzz inside to get to the elevator and access the restaurant. I would definitely recommend this place, though, to anybody looking to celebrate a special occasion. Wheelchair accessibility: You have to buzz into the restaurant and wait for someone to come get you and take you up the elevator to the restaurant. Could be a better system.
Shoutout to my server Kingston
Never disappoints, food and service is excellent
The food was very good. I dont know what it cost. Being the bill was paid for by a very kind person. The room I was eating at had a few steps to navigate. For some that may be a problem. Im guessing they may have better arrangements if needed. Otherwise not too much to complain about.
In this day and age I found Golfs to be exceptional. Really good food and having a salad bar great value for your money.
My prime rib was excellent. My wifes steak dinner exactly how she wanted it. Our server, Mario, was outstanding. Kind, gentle and helpful. Loved being able to visit the salad bar while we waited for the entrees. Manager greeted us very kindly on entry and when leaving. All staff have friendly smokes and all seemed genuinely happy to be there. Wheelchair accessibility: Elevator lift at entrance
The food was amazing and the wait staff were excellent. Always a great experience.
We had our Spring lunch with 104 ladies there yesterday. It was the best salmon that we have ever tasted. The service is amazing. Reasonable pricing and the staff takes care of everything including taking some heavy items to the car for us. Thank you Golf Steak house for our wonderful Probus lunch.
Great outdoor patio, Service and food.
Everything was great, food, service... we love going there on our special occasions.
There for Fathers Day, good.
Great service, amazing food, and spectacular prices. Cant wait to return!
This was my first time and my partner and I had zero complaints. Food was delicious and plentiful at a decent price. Our server (Athena, I think) was very sweet and attentive. We sat overlooking the river and it was a beautiful view. Perfect date night, and we will definitely be back.
UPDATE: Monday evenings offer a Seniors menu that includes garlic bread, soup or salad bar and dessert. An exceptional deal for exceptional food. Reservations strongly suggested! This is the place in the Region to go to for a prime rib dinner! Your meal includes soup of the day, which is always excellent, AND salad with a generous portion of beef, potato choice and vegetables, all reasonably priced. And you MUST save room for their house made cheesecake!! Beef never anything less than excellent, service impeccable and a great evening always. This has been our go-to for larger family celebrations or intimate date nights.
This restaurant has been around for a long time, in fact I worked here 34 years ago and it is still top notch. Food is excellent and our waitress Julia was so sweet and very attentive. The price is really good for all the food you get, soup bread and salad bar all included with your main course our bill with two 9oz glasses of wine was 136$ before tip so full couldnt finish our main course. We got a complimentary cherry cheesecake for our anniversary. We will definitely be back!
It was a Fathers day brunch to remember. Service atmosphere fantastic. I have been going to Golfs for at least 40 years, and it never lets me down If you have never been, I would say you dont know what you are missing. Casual dining, wonderful atmosphere, just hits all the marks you want for a dining out and personal experience. Parking: Lots never a task to find a spot Kid-friendliness: Over the years weve have introduced our children and grandchildren to Golfs and every time they would come away, happy. Well rounded menu for children Equally, staff treat children the same as adults
For the same price of other steakhouses you get a 5 course meal at golf s and the quality is just as good. Complimentary bread, then a soup, then access to buffet style salad bar, then your main (which is a good portion by itself), then a dessert on top of it. 10/10
Great evening out with friends. The Prime Rib was fabulous. My wifes schnitzel was a bit over cooked but all in all a good experience.
Tasty steaks and salad bar at a good value
We always have great service and awesome food, the prices are comparable to other steak houses but you get more go or your money. Thank-you for always amazing service. Cant get 10 oz Prime rib, soup and salad bar for $35 bucks
Food service and price were alll excellent, will continue to recommend Parking: Very busy when we arrived here but found a spot easley Food : 5/5 |
Very friendly service. I liked my salad from the salad bar, garlic bread, garlic mashed potatoes, chicken strips and fries, seafood platter(scallops shrimps and lobster), filet migon, baked shrimp in garlic, pina colada, sweet red wine from the bar and complimentary birthday cheese cake. My family liked all of these including the salmon, shrimp cocktail and rice! Kid-friendliness: They have a kids food menu and kids drinks
Awesome place to eat
Amazing service. Accidentally booked the wrong date for Mother s Day reservation and George was awesome to help us out and find us a table! Thank you! Food
We went here for mothers day dinner and it was much busier than usual! But the food came out perfect and the service was wonderful! It took a little longer than usual this time (again Very busy) but honestly we were doing well with our salad bar and drinks so no one was hangry. We had steak and prime rib as well as seafood and finished everything off with a couple of in house made cheesecakes. (The best)
I was very surprised. The service was quick (it is buffet style) but the food was amazing. All made in house so by all means go there. Brunh is fabulous
Excellent food quality! The lobster tails were wonderful! Cheesecake had a nice lightness to it. Service and ambience were great!
Beautiful restaurant with gorgeous views of the creek right behind it. Friendly staff and delicious food.
Really nice experience...
Wonderful food and wonderful staff. Thank you Mario for an excellent evening.
