95 Queen St S, Kitchener, ON N2G 1W1, Canada
Family-run nook since 1997 with a warm ambiance preparing homemade Thai meals to eat in or take out.
Best panang curry I’ve ever had. I didn’t leave a single bite behind. Mango salad was epic. Delicious chicken wontons, fresh rolls, and cashew chicken too. Plus delightful mango sticky rice for dessert. Excellent service, cozy and comfortable atmosphere. This place is such a gem. Can’t wait to come back again.
If you’re craving authentic Thai flavors in Kitchener, look no further than Northern Thai! The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff are warm and attentive. Every dish is bursting with fresh ingredients and balanced spices that transport you straight to Thailand. I highly recommend the Coconut Soup, Pad Thai, Cashew Chicken, and Green Curry – all were perfectly seasoned and incredibly satisfying. The menu offers a great selection of options, including delicious choices for vegetarians. Service was prompt, and the food arrived hot and beautifully presented. Overall, Northern Thai is a must-visit for anyone in search of genuine Thai cuisine in the area. Can’t wait to come back!
Nice little Thai restaurant featuring dishes from the north. Tom yum seafood soup was delicious. The whole fried fish dish was also very nice. I loved it!
To be honest it’s not super glamorous but everything else makes up for it. Food is extremely tasty. Big portions. Service from this family owned and operated restaurant is like being served by your own family!! Prices are very fair for what you’re getting. We had three different meals and all yummy! Going to be back a lot.
I recently dined at the 'Northern Thai' restaurant and tried their mango sticky rice, which was exceptionally tasty. However, the mangoes were disappointingly underripe. Despite that, the coconut sweetness elevated the overall experience, making it top-notch. On the downside, the service lacked friendliness.
I love finding local spots and everything about this restaurant gives you the vibe of local and authentic. The service was great and the food was awesome. I recommend checking out this spot if you’re looking for authentic local Thai.
A hidden gem! Pad Thai is so tasty, 100% recommending. Mango sticky rice looks AND tastes amazing. 🥭 Coconut shrimps are fresh, tender, and crisp on the side; the sauce is also spot on.🍤 Love this place and will definitely come again.
Don't be fooled by the aged sign and rough exterior. This is one of the best Thai restaurants in the area. I had the "Drunken Noodle. The flavour stands out from typical similar recipe. I asked for it to be spicy and it was ACTUALLY spicy. Worth your time and money if you're in the area looking for authentic, quality food. The spring rolls were outstanding!
Wonderful little restaurant with a great atmosphere, good food, and friendly service.
Great Pad Thai and green curry
Delicious food, friendly staff. Did takeout. Parking: No designated parking, park across the street in the paid lot, or park on the street. Food : 5/5 |
Best Thai food in Kitchener! Delicious, quick, reliable - 10/10 every time.
Always get food to go, so I cant really comment on service and atmosphere, but the food is amazing
Green Curry! Make it spicy! I love this place I have one problem with this place, I keep ordering the Green Curry, level 4 hot, with Jasmine Rice. Food
Excellent food, reasonable price and was perfect timing of afternoon for lunch when we were the only table occupied. Parking: Its free after 5 pm.
Absolutely delicious food. Service was prompt and courteous. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for Thai cuisine.
The food is excellent thank you!!
I ordered the green curry with chicken.....so good....thats all I could say after eating it ....sooooo good. Well done!
Quantity is wayyyy less for the price. Taste is good but not satisfied with quantity. One rice wont even serve 1
It is a combination of ambience, aroma, cuisine and service that makes this restaurant a wonderful choice for your dining experience.
Absolute horrible value...two sides 40 bucks...save the money and go get vietnamese
Chicken fried rice with spice level of 3 was good.
Great food my favorite is pad Thai and I love mango salad as well. They have so many delicious dishes for vegetarians or vegans.
The food tastes great, but the portion size is very small and is quite pricey for the amount. There were about 8 shrimps in the spicy shrimp curry, and very little beef in the ginger beef. The vegetable fried rice was $16, and everything was barely shareable for 4 people.
the food was good & had a fair amount of vegetarian options. I do wish there were drink options other than water, & I wish there was more than 1 menu per table.
Food was ok but I am highly disappointed with the attitude of the staff, specially the lady who was serving on Jan 5th in the evening wearing glasses. She was treating the customers like they owe her something. She was very rude when we asked table for two she rudely said sit wherever the table is not dirty. We paid $60 for getting good and welcoming experience but her rudeness wrecked the evening..
My favourite place to get thai food hands down. Tastes just like im in Thailand again. You have to try the seafood salad and beef salad (done spicy). Their hours are short so make sure you check ahead of time and make reservations. Ive tried everything on their menu and love it all. Wish I had pictures to share
So delicious. Friends introduced us to this location and we ve loved it ever since. The food is always fantastic. Eat in or take out, both are great!
This is a great family run location! Im a big fan of the food and service. The owners really seem to have a great community vibe as even neighbouring shop owners have great things to say about them!
Great food and service. I like the coconut shrimp and the curry there. We also had pad thai, not my favorite...
Delicious food! Having lived in south east Asia for almost a decade, I have found it really hard to find authentic places. This place absolutely surprised us. Green curry, Tom yum soup, satay and spring roll was perfect! Highly recommended for authentic food ..
Zooming to Thailand!
Food was great and so was our service!
Tried them for the 1st time there Pad Thai was phenomenal
Not too bad, but I had better Thai food before.
Food was excellent, our server was attentive and professional. Ill return happily.
Pretty good
Excellent service, great answers to questions on the menu, excellent tasty food with ample portions.
Amazing staff and very yummy food. This is my favourite Thai place in Kitchener.
Really delicious and flavourful food. Would definitely recommend the spicy shrimp dish. The server was extremely lovely, we came in (unknowingly) close to closing but were still served happily. Will be going again
A true hole in the wall. Best tasting Thai food in the region hands down. Packed with flavor and fresh tasting ingredients. The dry beef curry is a must try as well as the chicken satay appetizer. Enjoy.
Its actually quite difficult to find a decent Thai food restaurant that which makes quality food a reasonable price. Northern Thai knocked it out or the park. The food was incredible and the interior is cozy and well presented . Dont let the street view deceive you, this place is top notch . I would have given it 5 stars , but I do have one beef with the restaurant that Ive noticed with the occasional Thai restaurant. When you order a curry , it does not automatically come with rice . In my opinion , it should be standard issue . Usually though, if they charge extra for rice, its maybe $2. Here it was $5 per person for a small dish of jasmine rice . I honesty believe thats a bit exorbitant . Please consider either lowering the price of the rice or just include it with every curry and bake it into that price .
Delicious dishes, fast and pleasant service; a great spot overall for Thai food!
Best Thai food around! The Pad Thai and the dry beef curry is amazing.
We ordered take out and requested 2/4 spiciness. We love spicy food, but found this to be much spicier than typical 2/4 - too much so to serve to our kids. The flavor was okay, but we are still looking for a reliably good Thai restaurant.
Tried the beef in oyster sauce, sweet basil chicken and pad-kee-mao. The food was not watered down at all, so I will give them points for authenticity. However, we ordered a 2/4 spicy and it burned a hole in our intestines. I am used to spicy food, but this was something else. The food also could have been more flavourful in my opinion. The spring rolls were actually done perfectly well. Parking: Parking lot on the side.
I enjoyed the food and the prices were reasonable.
Food was delicious
Spicy Tofu Curry- I am addicted to it! The food is worth the price for sure.
tasty vegetable curry , friendly staff.
Pad Thai was fabulous!!!
Every item we tried was special. - spring roll - coconut shrimp - pad thai - chicken fried rice - red curry
Gem of a place in Kitchener. Exceptional Pad Thai and Coconut shrimp. Also, their red curries and spring rolls are really good.
Papaya is good! Wish they would make it more authentic with crabs and richer sauce...
Dishes didn t not have enough meats or shrimps. For example garlic shrimp fish was for $17 and only about 7 shrimps. Very pricey for mostly vegetables in each dish
I could eat their Pineapple Chicken Curry everyday. This is a staple for takeout in our household. They never disappoint!
It s amazing restaurant! Everything is delicious! I pretty recommend!
A mom and pop Thai restaurant with great food and a low key atmosphere. Food heat graduated from 1 to 4 with 2 a good burn.
Very tasty and lovely service. The spring rolls are so good!
Northern Thai is our favourite Thai spot in KW. The food is amazing and they safely cater to my food allergies every time (whether we eat in or do take out).
Totally recommend ordering the pad thai. It was delicious!
One of my favourite places to eat, it s usually my birthday choice. Usually not too busy at dinner, the food is made quickly and always tastes great. I love that you can choose from 4 spice levels! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options on the menu, appetizers as well!
Food tastes very unique and good, but the portion becomes significantly less compared to the ones I had before. Also price went up too. It s not worth the money. Looking for somewhere else Dietary restrictions: You can request to leave out peanuts or select the spicy levels Parking: Depending on days and times that you can find free parkings.
The atmosphere was pretty nice and clean however it took a lot of time to get my food and the sticky rice was not very good. Also the curries don t come with rice and we had to pay an extra $3.50 for rice just to eat the curry. For the most part the flavours were very good and it looked good but the chicken was dry.
They have so many vegetarian dishes. They have great service. It is a bit pricey but it is really good food.
Ordered the pad Thai. Very delicious, great atmosphere and service!
I had a lovely chat with the owner and he told me that everything is made fresh each day. That. Is. Amazing. Its unheard of!
One of my favourite restaurants in town for the last 10+ years - friendly staff and owners, incredibly delicious curry, plenty of vegetarian and pescatarian options. Ill love you forever, Northern Thai. Never change.
Very, very, good food, if you want authentic Thai food this is the place.
In the picture you can see the soup and deep fried tofu. We also got the padthai and cashew chicken with rice. Food was good and we enjoyed our night
very tasty and good sized portions. we will be back soon ...
Excellent and delicious food with nice people!
be cautious. the portion size is very very small. even the main dinners seem like an advertiser dish. really pricey. not for me a textless meal really. It actually didnt seem like a restaurant. people were dropping in talking to the older and dropping back out. seem like some ulterior business was going on? I will not be returning waste of money really. I questioned the cleanliness of the place
They say, dont judge a book by its cover.... Today, dont judge the food by the outside of the building. This food was authentic Thai. Great food and quick service. Would certainly come back again.
My wife and I enjoy the chicken pad thai.
I asked for 2 shrimp pad Thai. One spicy. He asked me on a scale of 1 to 4 how spicy. I said 3 and you won t believe it but it was indeed a 3!! Magic. Also compared to other Thai restaurants he gave a good amount of shrimp and the shrimp size were really good too! More than that , I don t like nuts so he kept it on the side and didn t mix it in (I didn t specify). Very Thoughtful! It was pricey but for what you re getting it s fair.
Northern Thai food is always good!!!
Went on a Saturday at around 1:00pm for lunch and was extremely impressed and satisfied with the food, service, and price. I ordered fresh spring rolls and Pad Thai and it arrived at the table very quickly! Friendly service as-well. Highly recommend.
Noodles were fresh, filling and not too heavy! We had pad Thai and pad Kee mao. Will be back!
Called restaurant because our takeout order was made wrong, owner or staff was extremely rude
Pineapple curry is so good pad Thai is always yummy
This is one of those hidden gems, the kind of place where you walk in and don t expect too much sure, it s dated, you won t find them on instagram and things look like they haven t changed in awhile, but for good reason. Staff were very kind, food came quick, and man was it delicious. We ordered the fresh rolls, mango chicken and pineapple curry with sides of rice. The rice was a little dry for my liking but perfect to my partners preference. The curry was amazing, and although it was more than enough food, because everything was so good, I had to order one of my classic favourites, tom yum soup - super flavourful with a little spicy kick! Because it was all so tasty, I m tempted to order the same next time but I m curious as to what other flavours to explore. Would definitely recommend for a low key, casual, great KW gem. Ps. Apparently they only do their specialty drinks in the summer time.
Always great food!
Of course we were a bit sceptical when entering this place, but when the service started and the food was served, we were very pleased. Having Thai Food in a lot of places overseas, this place serves almost authentic Thai Food, we very enjoyed.
I love the taste of drunken noodles and red Thai curry. I specially ask for no fish sauce and all veg, it s amazing taste. One of my fav restaurant in Kitchener.
Both the red and green curry were great and more than enough for us. We had to take out because the kitchen already closes at 7:30, but it was worth it.
The flavour is fantastic l. Beautiful atmosphere inside the restaurant, very warm and welcoming. I took friends from out of town here because theyd love the food, quality, and experience.
Disgusting experience. The guy on the counter was rude. Rude meaning very rude. He seemed very arrogant. Arrogant about what? Didn t understand. Definitely not about the food he served. Food was horrible. Ambience was shady. Definitely not for families.. I will never come back
Arroy mak mak! Finally we found a place that is just like my wife and I would be eating in any Soi in BKK. Thai beef salad was made perfectly with real fresh chili and gave the brow a little sweat. Pad Thai was flavourful and hit the spot. 100% we will be back to experience more of the menu. Looking forward to return.
Have been visiting this restaurant for years. They serve lovely food, infused with a fantastic balance of spices and herbs. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. They can tweak the spice level for patrons. Everything is freshly prepared.
Great service, made excellent vegan pad Thai
The drunken noodle is amazing!
I have never had a bad meal here. Their pad Thai is delicious, and their green curry is to die for! whether we re dining in, or ordering takeout, the service has been exceptional.
I d post pictures but there s no food left. Great food. Will be doing this again
Best authentic Thai in town period!
The rude guy on the counter perfectly RUINED the effort from the chief. Good food but terrible experience
the food is great. But the service is not so pleasant . I guess the guy on the counter want us to leave as soon as our finish the food , he wen to our table to ask if we are done even we haven t finished yet.
I enjoy this place for there Pad Thai and the green curry. Consistently tasty. I prefer to done in but still great when I bring it home.
The curry wqs good! But they could really make things much better in simple ways. For example, the fried Tofu appetizer wasnt salted or garnished or anything. Very bland. As a vegetarian, I like food too, yakno!
We were here 4 years ago when we visited from Sk, and remembered it being very good, so we returned. We were a party of 5, and no one was disappointed! Everything we had was delicious!! Sooo tasty. Had spring rolls, cold rolls, satay chicken, pad thai, panang curry, and oyster beef..lovely spices and just the right amount of bite! Will go back next to.e we are out too!
Fast service, standard prices. We felt spices and aroma.
The food is Okay. However, the service is extremely terrible. There were only a few customers when I got there. I ordered a pai that and told the server to remove carrots and add meduim spicy. After some waiting time, another table was served a pad thai and they almost started eating it, and the server found he gave it to the wrong table and asked them to stop and took the pai thai to my table. I saw the pad thai has carrots on the top so I told the server to replace it cuz I told him I dont want carrots. The server became very rude and took the dish back. Only after a few mins, he came back with the pai thai without carrots (he just removed them instead of making a new one). I didnt complain and start eating. No spicy at all even if I told him to add medium spicy. SO BAD EXPERIENCE!!
In what world does Pad-See-Iew come with peanuts and a wedge of lime? And why does it taste like generic stir-fried noodles with soy sauce? Even if this is the wrong order and they gave me a Pad Thai, its still pretty awful. As a Thai person, Im constantly offended by Thai food here in Waterloo, and this one is no different. This is NOT Thai food. 2-stars for friendly staff. No star for the food.
Great service and excellent food. However I would say it is $$ rather than $
Fantastic Thai. Best in KW. Great portions and quality ingredients. Parking: No easy parking. Must park and walk over. The plaza on the corner works after hours. Food : 4/5 |
Very cozy and the food was absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh and very tasty. We will definitely go back.
Great food, very tasty and not overpowering from spices. Staff very friendly. We will definitely go back. Vegetarian options: If you are vegetarian, this is a great place to go. The staff can customize and make great dishes.
Best pad thai in town!
Outstanding Thai food! This is a hidden gem with consistently superb cuisine. We love the pad Thai, panang curry, red curry, coconut shrimp, chicken satay! Keep up the wonderful job!
Try the spicy fish curry!
Delicious food !
Great food, priced fairly, nice staff.
Excellent service, healthy meals and prices that are easy on the wallet: whats not to love
Mediocre at best. Ordered chicken pad Thai and shrimp pad Thai, was disappointed with the lack of flavour. Asked for level 4 spicy, and it was hardly spicy. I d give the pad Thai a 3 star. I also ordered fresh rolls, didn t come with peanut sauce and they were 1 star at best. I d recommend Thai Bistro on Belmont. You get a lot more pad Thai and flavour.
Without a doubt one of the best places to get food within the region. I have been eating her for a few years now and I have never ever been disappointed and I know that I never will be either. I highly suggest checking them out.
Excellent quality! I am a new patron to Northern, and the Pad Thai and the Green Curry are authentic and just excellent overall. Well balanced and obviously crafted with experience. Keep up the good work you guys!
Really yummy food and awesome service ! We tried the Green Curry with Chicken and the Pad Thai. The Pad Thai came with tofu, shrimp, and chicken which was awesome and was super flavourful. The Green Curry was just as delicious and was packed with veggies and chicken, it lasted for two full meals. We were really pleased and cant wait to try more items from the menu !
Taste ok but pricey for what you get
Simply great food.
Was craving real Northern food since moving home from Chiang Mai. This place may have good Thai food but the Northern is misleading. The Grilled chicken was fine but it s not gai yang. The papaya salad was ok may be the best you can with Canadian ingredients but it was not proper som tum. However, the biggest disappointment was the khao soy the paper menu says northern thai soup (which is not something I m familiar with) but the online ordering says khao soy it was nothing of the sort, just a clear broth with rice noodles and veg khao soy is supposed to be a coconut curry soup with egg noodles. Sticky rice was ok. Seems popular so I expect the typical take out Thai is fine, but this is not a place for Northern Thai specialties.
Fast, great value, and most importantly: DELICIOUS!! We love the pad thai, sweet basil beef, green curry, and appetizers. I also love that you can request a spicy level between 1-5 for each dish and they make the dishes nice and spicy when requested!
Delicious food with fast and friendly service. Never been disappointed with the taste or quantity of the food here. Prices are reasonable also. Highly recommend the coconut shrimp!
Vegetable curry had lots of fresh veggies...delicious, perfect spice level, was ready quickly for take out.
My only place I go to for delicious, out of the world pad thai Ive been going here for 5 or 6 years now, and they have never disappointed me. The staff there are so friendly. Best Thai restaurant in KW
Staff and owner clearly dont know how to handle a complaint or have a constructive conversation. Chicken satay is only 4 pieces of paper thin chicken, if you look at their website the photos are false advertising and the menu isnt updated apparently. Prices have increased, the food quality and amount has decreased. I understand the need to stay afloat as a restaurant but weve had a terrible experience and the guy who answers the phone simply doesnt care anymore and thatll be apparent to customers going forward. Owner never called directly to come up with a solution. Doubt this restaurant will be around much longer.
Food was sad
Great food! Good portion sizes too.
Thank you! Northern Thai, my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the Pad Thai and Red Curry. We are always grateful for your friendly service, and your wonderful variety of delicious Thai dishes.
Ordered the pad thai, chicken fried rice, and spring rolls. Would recommend, will be eating here again.
Friendly, lovely food, decent prices, local owner, cant be better. Many vegan and vegetarian choices beside the main stream menu items and all very delicious and good portions! Great place to celebrate things with family and friends. Enjoyable!
Definitely the best Thai place in KW! I can go on and on but in short: great food, good prices, generous portions, place is very clean, only downside is no delivery option.
Consistently good food with friendly service at a good price.
Small, intimate dining experience
Delicious curries! Good for takeout, except that they pack things with too much plastic.
First time going to Northern Thai and the food was EXCELLENT! The place looks small from the outside but we could tell it was a local favourite. Take-out orders constantly going out the door. Nice to see small businesses doing well! Thank you so much!!
Legit, delicious Thai. Farang spicy in just the right way. All the right Thai flavours.
Thai food was quite nice.
Authentic food and good service
Great food
This has been my favourite place for years. Very unassuming, in a small out of the way location. But you need to make the trip. The food is fresh and you can taste it in the ingredients. The flavours are subtle, yet powerful! The veggies are not overcooked (as can happen frequently) and they provide generous portions, lots of meat (if you ordered it). Always pretty fast service.
great authentic food. Fast, reliable and delicious!!
Great quality food!
Great food. Couldnt ask for more
Beef was too hard, the curry sauce was alright, all vegetables in my dish were over cooked. rice was pretty good.. the pad si ew was.. not authentic.. would recommend Bangkok Cuisine over this.
More flavour packed into each cubic square inch of food than I thought possible.
Excellent food, you cant have better Thai red curry elsewhere! Dropping a star because I wish they would put some effort into improving the store front, currently it looks like a run down building on the corner of Charles and Queen. Wouldnt have tried it for the first time if I wasnt feeling adventurous enough haha! Glad I did though, this place is a hidden gem with amazing food!
Mmmm yummy
Used to come here all the time back when I used to work nearby. Green chicken curry, dry beef curry, sticky rice mango desert... some of my all-time favorites here. Last night came for a takeout and it was just as tasty! Great to see these guys still make some of the most memorable curry I ve had in KW.
This is the favourite place for my friends and I to meet up for our get-togethers. It is family owned and the chef comes to to check with you about how you liked your food. The menu has lots of good choices without being overwhelming. Their mango salad is the best in town.
Really really bad. Ordered take out. The sticky rice was hard as a rock and the bag it came in smelled bad? There was a hair in our sauce. The green curry was watery and flavourless. The vegetable curry tasted like kraft dinner cheese powder? Our spring rolls came with mine when we asked for non. Big disappointment. Not a single thing was good or right. $50 gone for what
Anyone who travels to Thailand is forever able to distinguish an authentic Thai food experience therafter. Northern Thai is as authentic as it gets. Amazing service is just a part of the experience. My fav place to eat.
This little restaurant is a hidden gem for real Thai food in the KW area. We have gone here several times and they use authentic ingredients with real recipes for great flavor in their meals and appetizers. The owner comes from Northern Thailand and wants to bring the flavors of Thailand to Canada with him. The prices and portions are reasonable so give them a try if youre in the area!
FANTASTIC!! Tried Northern Thai for the first time. I will DEFINITELY keep returning! The flavours were delicious. Its a hole in the wall interior, but for takeout, its spot on. I would order each item again. So tasty. Mango salad, pad thai, chicken red curry, beef panang curry. I had my own coconut Jasmine rice at home in my rice cooker. This is my new favourite Kitchener Thai place on Queen. My fave Waterloo Thai is My Thai on King.
Some of the best Thai food in Ontario!!!
Some great food, loved the pineapple coconut curry
I used to love this place and recommended it to everyone I knew. I havent been in a few years so I was shocked to find the quality has dropped. I ordered takeout yesterday: Golden Squid - smelled off and there were about 10 small pieces which wasnt worth the price, especially given their rotted state Green Curry with seafood - tasted good albeit without any heat but it caused severe diarrhea later in the evening. Guessing the seafood was bad. Pad Thai - okay but the chicken was way overcooked and very dry. They used to do this well when they were dine-in. Pad-See-Iew - first Thai restaurant I have been to that used the same noodles for Pad-See-Iew as their Pad Thai. Got this with the beef and much like the Pad Thai, it was way overcooked and hard. In general, the meal was primarily sweet with a few underlying flavors and few vegetables. Lots of meat but that was either overcooked or had already gone bad. I dont intend to come back again despite loving this place years ago. Something has changed and not for the better. Fortunately there are other Thai restaurants in the area.
My go to for authentic Thai in DTK.
Amazing food, great service, great prices, wonderful staff! Take out is consistently excellent.
Great takeout. Highly recommend the green curry.
Very authentic northern Thai dishes. Highly recommend the panag curry.
This is one of best thai places that I have been to. Four flames fish is a must try.
Good service, good food, reasonable prices
Awesome food at a good price. The service is sometimes slow, but worth it.
Fantastic Thai food at a good price. Excellent vegetarian options for most dishes as well
Worth the 2 hour drive we make to go here.
Talk about finding a hidden gem! I wish I had taken pictures of the food before I had eaten it but it looked and smelled so good I couldnt resist! The pad Thai is incredible at this place! The shrimp is huge!! This is the best Thai food Ive had in years! I believe Ive found my new go to Thai restaurant and will be bringing all of my family and friends here!!!
Pad Thai for under 15$ with tax, pretty tasty for the price. I order to go here alot and its become a favourite place. If you go during peak hours, sometimes they dont have enough staff for the amount of people that come in and you will late a long time for food. My buddy whose well traveled says the place is ran by chinese people pretending to be Thai. Dont let that dissuade you, this place is a gem!
Weve tried a few different Thai places in KW and this has instantly become our spot. Our food was delicious and we couldnt even finish our portions. The restaurant has a comfortable and casual ambiance perfect for connecting over a meal.
Fantastic and authentic Thai food. Delicious papaya salad.
Really good pad thai and beef with pineapple.
Quick and tasty thai food place in the area.
I dont usually write reviews for restaurants, but there are a couple of things about my experience with Northern Thai that I feel other potential customers should know. My partner and I ordered food from Northern Thai on three occassions using an online delivery service. On each occasion we had requested that an ingredient be excluded from the dish, and indicated that if there was a problem with the instructions to call us. On the first two occasions, the instructions were ignored, and on the third we received a completely different dish than what we had ordered. My partner has a sensitivity to the ingredient, but luckily in the first two cases we were able to remove it at home without issue. Nonetheless, it is concerning to me that explicit instructions regarding the preparation of the dish were completely ignored on three separate occasions. Given this, I would recommend those with food allergies be very wary if ordering from this restaurant, especially if the allergy is serious. All that said, the food we did receive tasted fine and was reasonably priced.
Great hidden spot, which has good food and a limited drink selection. Nice for a casual hangout.
Ordered a takeout lunch for 8 people for pick up at 11:30 am (they open at 11 am, thought that should be okay). Show up at 11:29 am to an empty restaurant and I get told that it will be another 10 minutes to cook the rice because they didn t want it to sit and wait. Umm, ok? 20 mins later, and I still hadn t gotten my food. I was there on time, my order should have been ready for me to pay and go. Needless to say I was late for my lunch. I will never order from them again. It doesn t matter if your food tastes amazing if I can t get it when I need it. Hard pass from me. And if you value your time, then it should be a pass from you too.
Best Thai place in the city! Great staff and delicious food.
Delicious green curry! I cant wait to return!
A great little place with a few vegan options; tasty, spicy dishes.
By far my favourite Thai restaurant in Kitchener-Waterloo. Service can be slow but the food comes out quickly and is always tasty. Been going here for 5+ years and have never been disappointed yet!
I love this place, great food. Service was a bit slow but I didnt mind it especially once the full flavor food arrived.
Really good food and prices are reasonable!
authentic Thai food. I love their papaya salad.i had medium hot northern Thai version. reasonable price. great parking.
