Very good service and very, very good food

Very original as a concept and excellent

The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and the service is superb. The only small downside: the volume of the music which is very loud (we were seated under a speaker) which means that the customers have to speak louder to understand each other and it becomes cacophonous. Besides that, everything is perfect and I will return with pleasure.

Excellent food, two of us ate mini burgers (pulled pork, foie gras and filet mignon). The tartars were also delicious and tasty. The plate of fried foods (cheese, onion and pickles was very generous) Only thing to say, maybe Im getting old, but the atmosphere was super noisy and we were above the average age of the clientele which seems to be between 20 and 30 years old. For an evening with friends, I would go back, but for a quiet dinner for two, perhaps not the best atmosphere :P

*This is my second 2 star review* -Squid soaked in cooking oil and soft. -It was my wifes birthday and I had specified it, not even a little attention. -The restaurant was extremely noisy. -Cheap dessert (cake) and tasted like the old one. -Tartare and salad delicious but unfortunately I will not return. I took the test again after two years and same thing so Ciao!!

Very good service on a pretty terrace, the staff is very present. A special thank you to the young waiter who was starting his first shift. Did you have a name? . We started with a very refreshing mojito mocktail. The fried squid as a starter with the aioli sauce was delicious. The miniburgers on the tasting platter were very tasty, but not hot enough. The spicy Taboo fries were too salty. The half Caesar salad tasted good. Overall we enjoyed our meal and will try the tartares on the tasting menu on our next visit.

Very good meal, nice menu choice and good atmosphere. Our waitress was not very attentive, we ran out of wine and I had to seek attention to get dessert. Bad days happen to everyone. We enjoyed our time between girls!

We went as a group of 10 with a reservation at 7:15 and waited until 9:00 to get our plates while the other tables were served before us even though some had arrived after us they have completely forgotten. Really a shame because the mini burgers were very good, they gave us a 10% reduction in compensation, so a place to avoid for groups because the wait was endless. It was the first and also the last time the service left really to be desired.

Very nice evening for a Sunday, very quiet. We tried the tartars, great discoveries with a wide choice for both protein and style. They have something for everyone! Wide choice of alcohol, the bar and the decoration are very good. We had excellent service in addition to being advised on our tartares. We had 4 2 oz tartares with poutine, everything served on a large wooden platter, very original and we had more than enough for 2. To discover at LAssomption!

Best dining experience Ive had in the last 6 months. Atmosphere makes you think youre in a chic spot in Old Montreal, but its a chic spot in LAssomption. Sashimi and tartares, foie gras, real umami . Highly recommended.

It was perfect for a romantic dinner. My husband had never been there and he liked the large selection of mini burgers. Service A1 Vegetarian options: I changed the beef meatballs for vegetarian ones at no cost, I liked it.

We had a great time at Taboo!!! The burgers and tartars were delicious. Our waitress seemed new, but was excellent!! We will definitely go back because there are plenty of things left on the menu that we havent had the chance to try!!!

We went to the restaurant yesterday, we traveled 40 minutes to try it. The food is good, but the service is really terrible. Maybe the server was new. He seemed overwhelmed and a little uncustomary. We arrived at 7 p.m. Our drinks arrived at 7:30 p.m. When we asked the waiter if the glasses were coming he seemed angry. If we take this establishment from the perspective of a restaurant you will be disappointed. On the other hand, if you approach it from the angle of a brasserie with tapas it makes perfect sense.

We went Friday April 5th 5:45 p.m. Restaurant far from being full. It took 45 minutes to get our 2 glasses of sangria and another good half hour to get our mini burger starters. The portions have also decreased enormously. Additionally, 2 of my burgers had the chicken completely charred inside. Too bad, previously we really liked this establishment.

A first time for us on a Saturday evening 8:15 p.m., our server was Francis and the food was EXCELLENT.... Really a very nice atmosphere and the staff Really friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: A very nice access ramp.

We arrived for dinner on a Thursday evening. We waited 30 minutes before a server came to our table. We thought it was because our table was somewhat hidden behind a wall, but to our surprise our server was serving the bar in front of us. So we started eating 1 hour after arriving...We would have understood if the restaurant was full, but it was half empty. In addition, the waiter, although friendly, drank shots with his customers rather than serving. As for food, the miniburgers and truffle fries were very good.

Very disappointed! Taboo was my favorite restaurant but weve been going a few times now and Id prefer McDonalds! Yesterday the music was too loud so it was difficult to understand each other, the service was correct. For the food, the cauliflowers were too spicy, fries and spices, the cooking really left something to be desired. The burgers. My boyfriend had 4. The rubber duck, the shrimp and the lobster were completely disgusting, the beef still overcooked. Mine. The chicken cooked on a grill was good but I would have done without the parmesan (personal choice) and overcooked beef. Very disappointed. Its going to take a while before we get back.

Their tartars are delicious and the meals are excellent. The only downside in my opinion is their bar section which is really good but disturbing for people who come to have dinner with family if you are placed close.

Sunday evening, group of six. Ive never had a service where the person didnt care about their table like that. we were next to the bar, next to the kitchen, the restaurant like half full. The easiest table to serve in history. However, at least one round of consumption was missed due to lack of interest. We were so close that we really had to close our eyes to not see that our glasses were empty. At least he had time to get his shots at the bar. In short, $400 later $60 (not sure he said 60 words) for 90 minutes, no thanks, a robotic good evening until the next time (which wont happen). A masterpiece in the art of taking customers (and their tips) for granted.

Its so nice to eat well

The 6 miniburgers tasted are very tasty, but very small for a big appetite. Perfect, even too much for one person. Starter to share is perfect. (The worst burger is the pulled pork one). All the tartars seem to taste like Dijon mustard:s. I tried the trilogy of tartares in tasting and despite the 3 different flavors it was not THAT tasty. I used to be a big fan of the place. I went back there recently and I was very disappointed: much smaller portions than before (they no longer serve sides with the tartars which are sold at $26), the fries were very small and the quality has really decreased, all this with prices increasing by 50% for certain items (mini burgers increased from $4 to $8). I understand inflation, but still I find it very disappointing.

We were 4 adults on a Wednesday evening. Reservation for 6 p.m. We received the food at 7:40 p.m. even though we had a show at 8 p.m. (information mentioned to the waiter). Food service and bill more than slow. Really disappointed to have to eat our dishes in 10 minutes given the cost of the bill, which despite everything seemed very good.

Dinner for 4 adults with friends yesterday before a show which started at 8:00 p.m. We had reservations for 6:00 p.m., and we arrived at 5:45 p.m. Our seats were ready, and the restaurant was still busy (3/4 full). It took a long time to get our alcohol order, but so far so good since the server was doing his best with several tables. After receiving the alcohol, we ordered around 5:30 p.m. Around 6:00 p.m., the waiter comes to apologize for the delay, the kitchen is late. So far, no problem. But at 6:15 p.m., he comes back to tell us that he doesnt know when we will receive our supper. 6:30 p.m.: we ask for our bill (alcohol only) without even having received our meal since we have to go to the show which fortunately is very close. 6:40 p.m.: The kitchen brings us our dishes, and when we mention that its too late, we chat with the kitchen waitress, who isnt too happy. Finally, she puts our dishes down, we eat very quickly (Burger, tartare) and we leave 50% of our plates. The poutine and fries arrived just before we left, we had to ask the waiter so as not to pay for it. NO DISCOUNTS on the rest of the meals are offered. In the end, it cost us $250 for a meal eaten too quickly in 10 minutes, without obvious pleasure and with heartache at the spectacle given the speed at which we ate dinner. I will never go to this restaurant again, if you are not able to accommodate all the customers take less. Go elsewhere, there are several other good restaurants in Lassomption with better kitchen service.

I found the service ordinary, not to say very low level. The waitress had much more fun with these friends than giving us friendly service. Usually I tip generously but here I did it on principle. The mini burger was really good (I was surprised) but the poutine was not there (personal choice). For the price paid the experience was not worth the expense. I like to do Google reviews and rate restaurants. Sorry!

The food is overrated, the presentations are superb but everything is tasteless or too salty. Its like they cut costs by serving you low-end ingredients while loading you with high-end. Stale parmesan, unnamed Caesar sauce, diluted sangria and watered Poké Bol. The fries, on the other hand, balance out the rest with their salt saturation. The atmosphere is rather poor and very noisy. Its perfect if youre a little warmed up and going with your hockey team, but forget about the romantic meeting with your lover, you wont get along or come out with smashed vocal cords. Maybe with a little luck you will save yourself from post-meal tinnitus. The rating was very high which makes it an overrated restaurant! I wont go back there again.

Taboo magical cuisine everything tastes nothing, no matter what you take, it has no taste in addition to an atmosphere worthy of a daycare with 1000 5 year old children screaming at the same time. All for 2 for a modest sum of $150. Never again.

I like the concept, the decor and the atmosphere are very good. However, I agree with the comments of other foodies: the value for money is not there. The quality is ok, nothing more, but it is rated as excellent. Neither the meat, nor the bread, nor the pesto, nor the BBQ sauce, nor the frying were particularly excellent. There is just the mayo that I particularly liked. Its not bad, but at this price I really expected more than not bad.

Very good place, the food is delicious and the service is perfect. I just found the music to be too loud. We had difficulty carrying on a conversation. Maybe we were just in a bad place in the restaurant but all in all, for the price, excellent.

Having a craving for poutine, my partner and I went there for poutine and 3 separate mini burgers. The mini burgers, nothing WoW but still good poutine . Total disappointment! Relatively average portion, barely there was any ground meat we had to look for it, bacon is pre-cooked bacon that we buy at the grocery store for our morning rush and there were more onions softer than the rest on the plate. The service was rather ordinary, it was not full and yet very difficult to have adequate follow-up. Once seated outside we thought they had forgotten us, our table neighbors had to go and get their waitresses inside. Once the plates were on the table, no one showed up. Fortunately we didnt lack anything. We took a detour to try this restaurant and honestly never again, its really not worth the detour for the quality versus the price.

Great choice of burgers but a little too expensive for the size of the burger. On average $8 to $12/burger. Fries or side dishes not included and even small sauces for fries are not included. On the other hand, I loved the Taboo fries. 2 glasses of sangria: $26 3 mini burgers + 1 Taboo fries + 1 sauce Total: $67 before tip.
