best dumplings
This is a small restaurant located inside a mall, and it’s a bit hard to spot from the outside. Once inside, you’ll notice the clean and well-maintained interior. The space feels simple but cozy, and I was especially impressed by how clean the washroom was — a small detail that makes a big difference. The service was excellent. The waitress was friendly, warm, and took the time to chat with me. I really appreciated her positive attitude. She recommended some of their signature dishes, which turned out to be great choices. I was initially worried that I had ordered too much food, but she assured me it would be fine — and she was right! The portions were just right and left me feeling satisfied, not overstuffed. As for the food, it was very good. While it’s not authentic Shanghai cuisine, it features a variety of dishes that you would commonly find in China. The flavors were spot-on, the ingredients tasted fresh, and everything was cooked to perfection. There’s honestly nothing to complain about. Overall, it was a great experience. Tasty food, clean environment, and attentive service — I’ll definitely be back!
This hidden gem of a restaurant serves exceptional food, especially their dumplings. The General Tsao chicken consisted of proper pieces of chicken (and not a slim piece of chicken meat surrounded by overwhelmingly deep fried batter). The proportions and selection were just right, each plate was plenty for the typical person. For those that are hungry, their variety of choices would remedy that hunger. As for the service they were kind and courteous ensuring that we lacked nothing as well as inquiring about feedback about the taste. The decor is modern and the eloquent painted murals add a nice touch. I'll mention that we were served in French but I'm certain that the staff can serve in English as well as many Chinese dialects. I've added 1930 Shanghai to my list of favorite Chinese style restaurants. Thanks to the staff at 1930 Shanghai. I'll be seeing you often from this point forwards.
Delicious- from the Pork and Coriander Long bao to the General Tao (with actual chicken not scraps of gross leftovers), and very good portion sizes, it is worth a trip or even to order via Uber. They even have Lotus Lead Sticky Rice! Some dishes last me two meals or can be shared as the portions are generous - even the small wonton soup. Very clean and tidy restaurant.
I would say it’s an average place with affordable prices, very nice service too. However, the food is also average, I heard from my friend that their soup dumplings are good, so I had high expectations which didn’t align with what I was served. Some sauces were too sweet for me, the boba was soft and soaked, not as chewy. If you really want something more authentic, I would recommend try other places in Chinatown or on St. Catherine if you are a picky eater like me.
Wanted some soup dumplings but didn’t want to fight for parking. Found this restaurant on south shore with plenty of parking. Ordered the following dumpling tofu champignons xiaolongbao poulet chou xiaolongbao boeuf coriandre dumpling poles agneau cori boules de sesame haricots The soup dumpling didn’t have much soup at all. The kids enjoyed the food. Nothing really blew my mind. The service was quick. The dumplings were just ok.
If my 2 young boys give it a thumbs up then I'm good with that. Can't go wrong with wonton soup. But when my 6 year old would not stop eating all the Xiao Long Bao pork, leek and shrimp dumplings that's a good sign 🤘 Highly recommend and I would come back again and again. Food was delicious. And there is so much more to try.
Delicious soap dumpling (Xiao Long Bao) and Pot Stickers (Guo Tie) in Rive Sud We had been to their St-Jean store previously and really enjoyed their authentic soup dumplings, and was really excited to find out that they opened a new restaurant in Rive Sud! They did not disappoint! We arrived in between meals, but staff was quick and courteous, gave us her honest opinion (too much food to order). They make everything onsite and the food was made to order, so it take a bit of time, particularly the pot stickers, but it’s very fresh and definitely worth the wait. The taste of soup dumplings was not exactly what I had in mind, still delicious but perhaps lacks a bit of umami. The sweet pork soap dumplings were way too sweet, sugar should be added as a flavour enhancer but never dominating the taste in soap dumpling. Some of the dumplings are also stuck together causing the soap to leak out. My heart was aching when that happened! There was a card on each table to explain how to eat soap dumplings which I find quite considerate. Absolutely LOVED the iced Sour Plum Juice, very authentic, tasted just like what I had in Beijing when I was a little girl. My daughter also enjoyed lychee bubble tea. All in all it was a good dining experience, would recommend to family and friends.
Authentic Xiao Long Bao. They make the food as you order which is why it might take a bit of time, but the food is worthwhile. This classic soup dumpling is well flavoured, the insides have lots of soup and they have a bunch of varieties to try. Each order are sold in bundles of 10 for around 10$ which comes back to 1$ for 1. For something filling like Xiao Long Bao, it's not that expensive. If the skin was a bit thinner, the dish would have been even more amazing for me. I would definitely like to go back and try more of their items in their menu. On another occasion, the prices increased a bit but the quality was still as good for the Xiao Long Baos. I tried their Peach Green Tea bubble tea and it ended up being a bit too diluted. It didn't taste that great. The Teriyaki Beef was also lacking a bit in terms of flavours. It tasted more like a soya stir fry than teriyaki. Still, it was a decent portion and decent meal overall. Eating at the restaurant was definitely a different experience. The atmosphere is enjoyable but there is loud beeping that comes from the kitchen every few minutes which is a bit annoying.
Great discovery. Good, fresh and prices are reasonable. Everything I ate yesterday was fresh, delicious and tasty, so much so that Im going back now after writing this review. PS. One of the only places Ive tried on the South Shore where I would recommend the general tao chicken. Plus they are open on Mondays. Having known, I would have taken advantage of it often with Nelly, especially on Mondays
I stopped by for lunch. There are advantageous lunch specials. Delicious wonton soup and dumplings. The staff is cool
Very good service and very good food. Good atmosphere too.
The entire menu is excellent!!!
They bluntly rejected any customer an hour before official closing time. We arrived at 7:00 and the store manager said they didnt want any more customers, even we saw they still have vacant tables. If thats the case, they should change their closing time to be 7 instead of 8, saving potential clients all the travel time to get there. Really disappointed!!
A lot of choices
Definitely the best dumplings on the south shore
super place!
Amazing food, very reasonably price, new favorite spot
They have the best peanut sauce! We regularly order the Peanut Sauce Chicken and the General Tao Chicken, and we are always satisfied. Good portion, reasonable price. We also like to vary the flavors of Xiao Long Bao and Dumplings, steamed or fried, its a great accompaniment. Bubble teas are also very good. Pictured: Chicken with peanut sauce
Very good meal. The peanut sauce is very good. Ill try something else on the menu next time. I recommend you try the xiao long bao for a first try I recommend the x2 sweet pork and also the x6 pork, leeks and shrimp. They are really delicious and worth a try. I myself am not a fan of steamed pasta but these are truly exceptional. The peanut sauce is excellent I recommend you try C4.
The food is cooked perfectly. It was delicious. I liked some more than others but in general it was very good. Heres what I ordered: -Beef & curry fried dumplings -Beef and chicken skewer (I liked the less, meat was too hard to chew) -Lotus leaf wirh sticky rice and chicken -Imperial rolls -Chicken and Shiitake mushrooms xiao long bao -Seasme balls -Friend creamy custard buns For arround 70$
A very nice atmosphere and very good 5/5
Went there this week, wanted to try new dumplings place. What a disappointment. The food was not good. And what was worst is the service. The young lady who served us, was not welcoming from the beginning, not friendly at all. Very rushed. We ordered juice for our 4 years old daughter she almost threw on the table the cup and the box of juice. We were shocked by such attitude. The rest of the food was brought to the table the same way.
Just discovered this gem! Portion of the soup dumpling were very generous compared to more renowned places! So delicious. I will come back and recommend this place to others as well Food
I ordered quite a few times from this restaurant and I was always satisfied with the food! Its fresh and tasty (especially the dumplings! Im drooling as Im typing my reviews!) the price are very affordable for what you get and the staffs are friendly!
Good Asian restaurant. Typical Chinese food. Excellent wonton soup (big bowl). White neon lighting...phew for the atmosphere! Very affordable bill. No alcohol license. Lots of takeouts. Service a little long.
Very good restaurant with dumplings and excellent peanut sauce ravioli. The price is reasonable, less than $30 for 2.
General Tao and Shanghai noodles delicious
Came across Shanghai by chance. Tried the fried chicken/coriander + pork/peanut sauce as take-out. They were delicious :) Will be going back to dine-in Update: came back to dine-in, tried the xio long bao (soup dumplings). Delicious!
Dumplings were fresh and packaged well also tasted good. Only thing was the soy sauce was quiet salty. Peanut sauce was good.
Excellent service! Excellent food. I will definitely come back. Thanks for the glass of water .
tasty
The dumplings are grate and moderately priced. As for the atmosphere, it has a Fast food feel to it. I would go back because I liked the food.
Nice place and dumplings
Excellent Dumplings! Hearty! Very good service! I highly recommend!
I highly recommend! Soup/dumplings of different kinds were excellent!
Excellent general tao chicken and dumplings! Shanghai noodles are also very good
Excellent food. Tried the general Tao entree, the pan fry dumplings and Xiao long bao. Everything was really good. Would recommend.
Unfortunately they do not respect the schedule they have posted. We could not get service
The food was bad.
Excellent service, calm atmosphere, the food is delicious, I recommend the dumplings
It s very good value for money! Excellent choice of Dumplings (steamed or browned) The plate of sticky rice is very good (2 good portions) General Tao is very good (it s a good portion too) Service and welcome (correct) * Downside on the service... we didnt receive our plates at the same time but rather with too long a delay... it wasnt great! Overall it was good and we will definitely come back!
The Xiao Long Bao experience alone is worth a visit. There is even a sign on each table that explains how to enjoy this dish.

Our new go to you!!! A delight!
Ok Parking: XL Wheelchair accessibility: OK
Delicious !
It s still just as good every time I go back.
The wonton soup is extraordinary, the broth delicious. Fried rice: a delight. Thank you so much.
We ordered an appetizer beef, it was so hard to chew. The dumplings steamed or fried didn t taste fresh, almost no taste! The tea was disgusting ! We complained about the beef, the waitress said oh, the other table just finished it! Not recommend at all!
Excellent Asian restaurant on the south shore! Everything is delicious, the portions are generous and the dishes are made as you go so always fresh! Just WOW
Excellent service and food!
Despite the unfavorable comments, we decided to look at the Google Reviews which made us change our minds. We didnt regret it. Good service, excellent and tasty food. We had dumpling with peanut sauce, green onion crepe, curry dumpling and boxed leek dumpling. All were excellent. We will go back.
The food was a bit salty.
Authentic!!!! Very authentic soup dumplings yum!
Delicious food and excellent service! Vegetarian options: There are options Parking: There are enough spaces Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere is familiar, I went with my 2 granddaughters Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible
The bubble teas are excellent!
The food is excellent, especially the dumplings with peanut sauce. I could eat a whole bowl of this sauce its so good. The other dishes we tried were all very good. The portions are generous and the prices really reasonable. I recommend without hesitation!
Super good! Quick and delicious
I almost dont want to rate this place so high, in case more people find it! Some of the BEST dumplings Ive had on the South Shore. Xiao long bao were beautiful, tons of flavour, and plenty of soup. Lots of options for fried and steamed dumplings, as well as more typical plates for friends who prefer noodles/fried foods. Service was a little confused (different servers kept coming back to my table after Id already paid) but I cant wait to go back!
Great affordable deal!
Presence of insect!!! We ordered 4 different dishes to share. After tasting 2 dumplings in one of the dishes, under the 3rd there was a live insect of about 1 cm stuck to the dumpling. The fact was immediately reported to the waiter who replied that this was surely due to the serving dish and not the food. As compensation, only the tray with the insect was deducted from the bill with the offer to bring home the other dishes that we had not started.
Parking: Best xiao long bao, great service and very nice decor and decent price as well! We will come back for sure! Love that place!!! Food
Excellent choice
I want to start by stating that this restaurant has the most amazing General Tao Ive tasted so far. Even though the place is small, the quality of the food is top tier AND they dont serve you small portions. The menu has enough variety to satisfy your eyes and, of course, your family. I know, I know... The restaurant is located beside a Maxi, but you should still give it a chance.
So good! Super quick too, I recommend, the portions are really good too, the little wonton soup to take away was very generous!!
Good value for dinner
So good. Crispy fried dumplings made to perfection. Awesome, steamy dumplings.
Best won ton soup ever! Delicious broth with coriander! Very authentic. Visit to the dining room today, huge portion of General Tao, daily menu including wonton soup and roll. Reasonable price and generous portion. Service in French! Well done
Excellent and authentic! General Tao Chicken was wow and excellent Won Ton soup. I recommend.
Love this place. Dumplings are amazing, they arent just my local hook-up, theyre my favourite too! Food
Excellent food!
Nice service, good food~ must try their Xiao Long Bao and fried dumpling
Real nice staff, checked that they wrote down everything we ordered, quick service.
3 stars for the quantity, but it lacks taste... the rice is overcooked
I only tried soup dumplings and raviolis in peanut sauce. The food is perhaps acceptable to non-Chinese palate but personally any random frozen soup dumplings on sale in Asian grocery stores would taste better. Raviolis in peanut sauce are far from authentic. I don t get why people with Chinese surnames gave good reviews. I couldn t even finish the raviolis.
Good service, the wonton soup and General Tao chicken are excellent.
Best dumplings around!
Great food and great atmosphere. Ive eaten here dozens of times and every meal is a fantastic one.
Super good and very good service
The food is excellent! Dumpling and xiao long bao delicious and very tasty! Additionally, the service was excellent and the staff very friendly. I recommend everyone to try this little gem at the Prairie. We will go back, thats for sure!
Excellent general tao. Crispy chicken and very good sauce, generous portion. I will come back soon to try something else, the menu is interesting
The menu is excellent
Yummy!
Love that we now have a decent dumpling restaurant on the South Shore. They have a decent variety on their menu with decent prices.
Got the porc dumplings, the flavour just explode in your mouth
Excellent dumplings finally in my corner! Weve been wanting to try it for a while and not disappointed at all! We will return there for sure!
Delicious omg!!
Best dumplings in the area.
This is the only choice for eating xiaolongbao here in Nanan!
Delicious and pretty cheap!
Dumplings were very good! I also liked the fried rice. So glad to find a place like this!
Excellent dumplings. However, I found the bubble tea to be a bit on the watery side and couldve had more tapioca balls
Glad to find quality Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) in South shore. Ordered the one with lamb & coriander and it was excellent & juicy. Good that the dumpling wrapper did not break easily; if not the soup inside would leak out.
Sincere Xiao Long Bao
Best bubble tea.
Wow super dumpling super dessert
How sad, the fried dumplings and xiao long bao are soggy due to the takeout containers...
Love the soup dumplings, sesame balls & honeydew bubble tea!!
I ordered from Uber and the soup dumplings are great however, giving a 3 star because their boba teas lid arent sealed which isnt safe during covid.
LITERALLY THE BEST WONTON SOUP
Quite ordinary for my taste unfortunately! I had a lot of expectations. The beef and curry dumplings were way too salty and fatty. The rest was just okay. Damage!
Delicious, fast, great price
Very ordinary. First experience at this restaurant, take-out order. I took the beef and shrimp teriaki and my wife the Shanghai noodles. It tasted like nothing, very bland. Too bad because the prices are reasonable and the portions generous.
It had been over an hour since I placed my order with Door Dash. Then they canceled my order, I called but the gentleman who had difficulty understanding me (very pronounced Chinese accent) told me that the Dasher had already left. I then ask him why did you cancel the order?? To my great surprise, I called Door Dash for help: I was informed that they canceled because they did not have the items I requested.... Please have your restaurant provide the good information to customers! Luckily I was reimbursed.
It was so good, the Boba there was amazing !! Staff is incredibly nice :)
They are very nice and understandable. I ordered a regular dumpling via Uber and I wanted the sweet dumpling and it had a difference but they didnt count it and I found it very generous. Im sure I bring my friends and family here and share the word about this restaurant. A gesture like that keeps a customer forever!
A good little Chinese restaurant. I particularly like the soups. Quick and very good take-out meals.
Excellent soup dumplings on the South Shore! I would like to see more variety but definitely worth trying! Weve been back a couple of times as and quality is consistent and Delicious! Enjoy!
The food is tasty, portions are good and presentation is impeccable. The menu is streamlined and there were instructions for the classic way to eat Xiao Long Bao, which is appreciated for a newcomer like me. Unfortunately, I have to remove a star since there was an employee sitting to a table next to us who kept coughing, albeit with a face mask. With the current pandemic situation, this shouldnt be tolerated and the employee should be sent home.
Hey you! Stop reading reviews and get over there right now if youre hungry for some great dumplings.
I hate to say it but it s the worst dumplings and food my husband and I ever had. We gave it a shot because the reviews were good and it looked busy when we passed by a few times but wow, it s crazy bad. I ve tried many dumpling places in Montreal and these soup dumplings had a terrible taste, the fried ones were incredibly salty. The spring rolls were tiny tiny tiny and terrible, you d be better off buying frozen ones from the grocery store. The chicken Teriyaki barely had any sauce and had a weird taste. We were unable to finish it and threw the rest away. Honestly it s hard to find Chinese food or dumplings that s so bad let alone Chinese food so bad that you can t finish it but it was that bad unfortunately. Im a white girl and I make better homemade dumplings.
Fantastic place, reminds me of another place in Montreal (not Shangai). Save me the trip :)
Delighted from our first visit with tasty dishes .but when picking up at the restaurant what a disappointment good soup but the general tao chicken which we found delicious was simply inedible downright dried without sticky sauce so delicious and of a dubious dark color lose your name for just one dish if its worth it for you!,,
Good quality Shanghai food. Dumplings are good too.
nice xiaolongbao!
Fresh and delicious..dont need to worry about finding parking anymore .
The food is great and the service is great!
So delicious!
tasty
Very very good
Very good wonton and noodle soup. Cucumber salad was also delicious.
Very ordinary dumplings and raw chicken.
The Xiaolong rice dish is quite authentic, and the sweet pork rice dish is similar to Wuxi Xiaolong rice dish. joy!
Great boba! The workers are super nice too
My wife, son, and I went to Nanan for business on Sunday afternoon. We heard that Datouwen opened a very special dumpling restaurant, so we came here. We really felt the strong taste of old Shanghai, the long-lost soup dumplings, pot stickers and sour dumplings. We enjoyed the spicy noodles very much. We seem to have enjoyed the delicious food in China. My son is very happy ... He asked for milk tea and wanted to pack it for lunch on Monday. My wife is from the south and she ate the noodle soup thoroughly. ! I love traveling and food. Because I treat patients in a massage clinic every day, I can t eat regularly and I can t breathe fresh air. Whenever someone recommends a good place, I will definitely go and check it out. Haha, enjoy life nice foods nice owner
So excited that we finally have decent soup dumplings nearby! I find the soup dumplings to be way tastier than the pan fried dumplings, but Ill definitely try the wonton soup next time, too.
Had their xiao long bao and fried dumpling and both were amazing. We each had only two since our dad simply wanted us to taste them but he ate the whole thing and was sick after.. not sure if its cause of the dumplings but taste wise and price wise they were 10/10 and i will try them again!
Delicious dumplings!!!
Finally a great dumpling place on the South Shore! Only ordered to pickup because of Covid, but everything was absolutely delicious. Will order again for sure!
The whole family found this cuisine extremely good. Varied flavors and very reasonable costs. We highly recommend!
Pretty decent place. To be honest, its probably one of the best Chinese restaurant on the south shore. The quality is great and the food taste awesome, this being said, you get quality over quantity, this isnt a buffet type place which is where I lost a star. The meal only left me hanging for more... The general tso does not taste like its 90% corn syrup, its meaty and not only batter. The pan fried dumplings are right on the spot. Perfect... The sesame ball deserts are super... Again, a little disappointed I got only few pieces and a little miniature for me, just too good to be true.
Excellent general tao and dumpling starter to take away. Pleasantly surprised. I cant wait to discover the rest of the menu.
