Sushi π£ Ramenπ PokΓ©bowl π₯
I have been ordering from this place for a few months now and this is quite frankly the best sushi in the south shore! Their Ramen and Sushi are absolutely delicious and you can tell that they take pride in giving you the best experience! Canβt wait to try their PokΓ© Bowls next!
The pieces of fish are too big in the rolls..I commend this establishment for being generous . However, I don't think its necessary in order to be c9nsidered a great sushi spot. Customers dont want too small nor do they want too big in my opinion. Like the story of Goldey locks and the 3 bears....the middle option is best.
The ramen and sushi are really really good! We especially like their decoration.
Iβve been dining/ordering takeout from here for over 10 years and always recommend it to friends and family for delicious and authentic Japanese food at affordable prices. The sushi rolls are simple (no crazy fusion rolls) but the ingredients are fresh, which is key. They are filled with generous amounts of fish; even the rice is delicious and has the perfect flavour and texture. Besides sashimi and rolls, I recommend the sushi pizza which is different from any other out there. It doesnβt have that heavy, greasy deep fried rice patty base, and is instead topped with baked cheese. Itβs delicious! I also enjoy the soft shell crab tempura, skate fish, tuna tataki and the chan-pon noodle soup. Highly recommend!
I ordered the 54 piece cool combo to share with my niece and nephew and I'm very dissapointed in the presentation and the quality of the fish offered. The salmon nigiri had a rubber like texture, the tuna nigiri was an absolute mess and the soy sauce was way too salty. I ended up giving the tuna to my cat. At least it liked it. The last point, there is soy sauce specifically made for sushi and sashimi. It tends to be milder and slightly sweet. What I got was pure soy sauce.
I enjoy the Brossard location a lot so I thought Iβd give this one a try and I fell in love with it just as much!! The quality and flavours are top notch. The uni (sea urchin) and hamachi (yellowtail) are my favourite. Chef and staff are warm and welcoming. Highly recommend! Ps very limited seating, call in advance.
Heard from one of my friend who lived japan for year, and she recommended me this restaurant and saying its real Japanese style. We come at a rainy Wednesday night, a lovely small place and very kind staff. We didnβt order any bbq dishes but tried many sushi and sashimi, they taste really fresh! I donβt recognize that they have bigger potion than other restaurant, we spend 90$ in total for bellow foods, which is too much for us, Iβm sure that you can order 50$ by two people and it will be enough for you! Half/half chance for us to come back, just because itβs too far from our place...
Very small restaurants with only a few tables but their food is amazing. Price can get quite high compared to other Japanese restaurants but their quality is one of the best in my opinion. However, if you do not reserve a table, you might have to wait in line for a while. (3 years ago) I tried the restaurant after the name changed to Poke Yasu. The menu is now so limited compared to before as they only serve pokebowls. For around 17-18$ a bowl, the portions are relatively small, especially the amount of fish served. I did enjoy how they add various types of toppings, but overall, it is overpriced in my opinion. The food itself is fine. I found it a bit too dry, a bit lacking in the amount of sauce served. I also wish they would offer more options for sauces.
Delicious, traditional sushi! Freshness and sufficient ingredients are one of the reasons why I repurchase every time. Highly recommended!
I ordered sushi for the first and last time in this restaurant. If you want to ruin your evening, then order sushi here.
Worst poke bowl Was a salad with raw onions and cold rice and tons of dressing No veggies at all Waster of money
The food is great and the staff is very kind. They make the best poke bowls
A very rich roll with big pieces of fish. This is the best sushi I have ever eaten.
Excellent sushi, always good!
We ordered 4 dishes to take away; A shrimp noodle salad with a strange taste (burnt?), dumplings stuck to the bottom of the transport box, a tasteless cucumber salad and a passable pokΓ© (if we forget the strange idea of the Single slice Kraft on top of salmon). I dont know if it was a bad day in the kitchen, but well avoid it in the future... Too bad for a small neighborhood restaurant that has the potential to do well. Ps: we are used to this type of cuisine.
best sushi and poke at la prairie
The place doesnt pay much but its one of the best pokes Ive eaten. Its worth the detour Wheelchair accessibility: There is no walking
A bit disappointed with the poke-bowl. I took the yasu party pokebowl and there was too much peanut butter sauce.
Its a diamond on the prairie, I ordered poke bowl and sushi and everything was beyond my expectations, it was so good, it was on fire.
Delicious food and good value for money!
My boyfriend and I have wanted to try this restaurant for a long time! We went to several ramen and poke bowl places in Montreal. Unfortunately, it really didnt live up to our expectations. The service is impeccable, but the food is very bland. The vegetables in the poke are soaked in water and look a lot like the frozen vegetables you buy at Costco. The sauce has little or no taste. The chicken was good though. For my boyfriend, the ramen broth was good, but the noodles were ordinary. Anyway, we finally tried this restaurant, but it will be our first and last time.
The best Asian restaurant (sushi, poke bowl, soup, etc.) Ive tried in Canada. The prices are very reasonable. I ordered a combo for 19.99 which came with soup, 2 spring rolls and a SUPER LARGE poke bowl. The chicken was juicy and the rice delicious overall, a super good combo. Afterwards I ordered a combo of 36 sushi which are super, super good, the best Ive ever tried, I even had to order more because they were so good. . 100% sure I will come back. :D
The food was delicious and fresh, I had sushi and a poke bowl and it really exceeded my expectations, I recommend it
Super good, reasonable price and super friendly service! I regularly order takeout.
Courteous staff! Delicious poke! Recommend the spicy salmon!
Unfortunately they only make pokΓ© bowls now. They were good but I certainly wasnt able to fully appreciate them because I was surprised to learn that day that there was no more sushi. It was the sushi place in my top 3 of the best sushi Ive eaten in my life... I havent found an equivalent value for money since...
Meal too spicy. We were not warned.
Resto japonais santΓ©. Menus colorΓ© et repas vΓ©gΓ©tarien.Poke bowl, poulet teriyaki dΓ©licieux. Vraiment Γ dΓ©couverte.Peut commande pour emporter. Not really the place to eat there because air conditioning in the carpet and not great atmosphere but yum! The poke is excellent and the dumplings delicious!
genuinely one of the best poke bowls Ive had in my entire life. opening hours are a bit weird but its honestly fine. 10/10 those bowls are fire
Impeccable and fast service. Poker and Ramens are delicious I could eat them every day
Delicious ramen and pokebowl We ordered spicy miso and yasu party. The soup was good and fish was fresh Nice place and will return with my friend Food : 5/5
I had a beefbowl and I was pleasantly surprised. The steak was tasty not too stiff. Well-balanced portion of rice and vegetables. A great discovery that changes the channels.
I bought 12 pan dumplings and a ramen soup (black). I was disappointed with the dumplings, they lacked flavor and had water inside. The soup was good but the pork didnt seem completely fresh to me. I hope it was just a bad day! I will go back to try their soup again, possibly it will be better to eat there versus to take away. Prices were fair. Customer service was very good.
Food is excellent !!!Service is very good!!!Chef is hsndsome!!!
Everything was tasty and fresh, many dishes in addition to sushi.
Amazing sushi! nice people! wide range of variety of fresh sushi. Made by real Japanese people. Affordable pricing!
Delicious sushi cozy atmosphere
WoW so authentic, best Japanese restaurant in the metropolitan area (not just Sushi). Its worth the trip to La Prairie, a small Max restaurant with 15 seats, very cute.
Always excellent
Ordered 4 starters: Beef sashimi (delicious), Fried squid (delicious), Shrimp tempura (disappointing for shrimp tempura), Popcorn shrimp (average). Good service.
Ideal place to eat Japanese and receive good service. I ate very well, very welcoming place.
The quality of the fish is impeccable!!! The owners are really nice and caring :)) Best sushi I have eaten in my life!
Delicious food. Always fresh. Authentic sushi from a Japanese chef.
Really delicious authentic japanese food.
Favorite for Yasu La Prairie. Simplicity, freshness of products, friendly welcome. Its our first option every time we order sushi.
Their unagi (eel) is simply delicious!
Excellent tempura and delicious sushi
Fresh shushi and welcoming staff
Authentic Japanese cuisine. Enough said.
This place has its owner changed, for both the la prairie location and the Brossard location. I went to la prairie location today, and is only poke bowl, which is fine. What bothered me the most is that this is one of the most expensive poke bowl i have ever had around montreal for what you get. For 17-18$, you get half of the bowl, with a bare to little rice. They shouldnt even keep the name Yasu to ruin its legacy. The old Yasu was so much better in every way. The food was better. The price was better. What you got were miles ahead. I am not looking forward to see what the brossard location will become
Wow, what a discovery! I had a salmon poke bowl, but I will go back to try other things. Its fresh, its excellent and the service is number 1!
Excellent Sushi! And excellent service!
Great sushi place that keeps the name Sushi Yasu alive on Laprarie side. Super fresh sushi and great flavor. The price might be little high compare to other places but you are getting an authentic Japanese owned sushi dishes. Highly recommended!
Wow! Sushi made with respect for art, courteous and friendly staff. The best sushi restaurant in Roussillon!
The best!!!
Sushi Yasu is MY place! Once again this evening the best sushi I have eaten! Generous in fish and exquisite flavors. I have tried several places on the south shore but I always come back to Sushi Yasu La Praire and its experienced chef Sato! Thank you for making our Friday evenings in confinement divinely enjoyable
The best! They are super friendly, the products are fresh, we order them regularly and it is always excellent!
This is the best food/quality/price you can get!
The best sushi in the Montreal region. I havent found anything that comes close to their quality. 10/10 would eat every day.
The best sushi on the South Shore and affordable too.
Great japanese-owned sushi restaurant, served with care and quality.
This sushi place was very good and has a special style for delivery. Dining in is not my recommendation but takeout or delivery are the best option.
Itso Fresh Sashimi!
Excellent sushi here in the heart of La Prairie. Fresh, tasty sushi, sashimi and maki. Price is very reasonable too. Definitely will come back often for takeout.
Sushi is great, Katsu don is excellent!!! The atmosphere is also good
Very fresh and delicious !
Good place. Sashimi are very good.
Good services and I like the foods here
Best sushi on the South Shore / Best sushi in the South Shore
Went twice and loved it each time
Very good place, friendly welcome and freshness of the goods.
Imagine, a Japanese restaurant run by Japanese.. They may serve great sushi, but you owe it to yourself to try the menu items...
Excellent sushi. First visit and certainly not the last. Order the H menu. I cant wait to go back.
Yummy!
It was great! Feels just like an authentic Japanese eatery.
I havent eaten sushi this good in over a decade! I am impressed with the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. I am definitely coming back.
Great food , great chefs , great service , great variety , great customer service definetly worth the try.
Real actual traditional japanese meals. Family owned and an amazing service. Try the curry! Just magic!
Hands down my favorite sushi spot in the Montreal region! I actually dont really eat sushi anywhere else, best quality/price in my opinion. The appetizers are also delicious, try the tsubugai karaage, kimuchi tako, skate fish, softshell crab, etc. Highly recommended!
One of the best maki and sushi Ive had in a long time!
Amazing sushi every time! The fish is so fresh and tasty.
Woah
Food are freshly made and owner is courteous!
The best sushi in Quebec! Rice cooked to perfection and super fresh fish that melts in your mouth. Not forgetting the passionate employees who are always smiling! I recommend to everyone.
The sushi was good but the menu had some spelling mistakes and their ordering system where you have to wait outside is not very practical, especially when it will be winter
Fresh sushi and awesome service. They are generous for the price and their sushi are loaded with fish and their rice is really good. Their Udon soup and their lunch specials with miso soups and bento are pretty good too! Love this spot.
Having tasted a lot of sushi from many places around Montreal, I felt like I was actually eating real sushi for the first time when I got to try Yasu. Exceptionally fresh and tasty stuff. You can definitely tell theres true craftsmanship at work in their food.
The best sushi around. Always super fresh and courteous and affable service
Good sushi
Good
Our family rate Sushi Yasu as the best Sushi place in greater Montreal. The ratio price / quality is unmatched anywhere on the island of Montreal. We usually pick from the sushi list but they do other great dishes.
Excellent restaurant. We have known Chef Yasu for over 10 years. Having frequented Japanese restaurants in Montreal and the South Shore, I must confirm that this restaurant offers excellent sushi and sashimi. Everything is good. The very exceptional soft shell crab tempura. On the other hand, it is preferable to reserve because the restaurant is not very large. Nice atmosphere. When we went, the restaurant was almost entirely filled with Asians. This is a sign that the food is excellent. Its good value for money. I can believe that this restaurant has been established for several years. A pearl to discover in La Prairie. Well worth the detour. It should be noted that for people who dont eat fish, there is beef and chicken on the menu.
The best on the south shore!!!
Very good sushi. Good quality fish and obviously, it comes at a cost. However, it is not very expensive either. There is a nice choice of beverages, much more than on the menu on their website. Nice choice of Japanese whiskey and some sake.
The food is absolutely fantastic. I had the spicy tempura roll as well as the tuna kamikaze and hotate spicy( spicy scallops). It was visually pleasing and it tasted delicious. This restaurant always serves fresh fish and seafood. I havent gotten any problems in the past 8 years that I have been going there. Also, if you arent a fan of loud overcrowded spaces it should not be a problem since it has a very calm and relaxing ambiance due to the classical music that is heard in the background. Sushi Yasu is an amazing restaurant and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Japanese food or would just like to try it.
Excellent and authentic. Service was great and the sushi was delicious and fresh!
Best sushi
Great food and amazing staff. Best Sushi Ive had by far! Definitely will go again.
Very good always fresh
Best sushi restaurant in the area.
Delicious
Food is a bit slow, but very kind service.
Best sushi Ive had and reasonable prices
Very good, surprising for a small place in a shopping center.
I like this place. Their lunch special Tues-Friday is very good value! Thats the sashimi lunch!~$15
Splendid food, superb service
Excellent and fresh food ! Staff is friendly
Small restaurant but very good sushi! Staff and the chef are very friendly... if you like sushis, i recommend this place!
Best hidden spot ever!!
Good little restaurant in La Prairie.
Good food
Always fresh and well prepared. Pleasant and friendly.
Best Sushi west of Brossard
Great waitress, discrete and courteous, excellent food
Best authentique traditional sushi made with Japanese chef. Excellent service. It s always welcoming. I am here every week. Comforts my belly and emotions. They have great yummy value lunch sets. My favorite one is the tempura undo it s comes always with salad, sushi , a big bowl or soup udon noodles and dessert. For dinner, this place is so cozy that we always end up with ordering way too much sake and we always stay untill they close( no matter what time we go in for dinner). This is my way to tell you how comforting this place is.
I give them credit for putting their heart into it, but off the mark on a few points. Hamachi was not hamachi, okonomiyaki was over dressed.
chirachis excellent!! I love this place!
Sushi restaurant owned and run by real Japanese chef. Family business, quality food and good service, with some typical japanese items that arent served in other local sushi restaurants. The restaurant is quite small so its better to reserve. And when the restaurant is full, service can be slow.
Amazing fresh food and generous portions!
The service and food is perfect! Always good!
Ive been going to this restaurant for several years. The food is great and the staff are very friendly.
Best sushi on the South Shore of Montreal, prices are very reasonable
One of the best Japanese restaurants in MontrΓ©al although it is a bit small. Chefs are Japanese.
This is the most authentic japanese restaurant in Montreal. The place is very cozy, sea food here is very fresh and the staff is extremely hospitable.
Good quality and cheap authentic Japanese food
Very good sushi with soup and dessert for 14 dollars, we really like it
Best authentic Japanese food on the South Shore! Good variety and generous portions for modest prices. The best value can be found in the combination meals (lunch <$15 and dinner <$30). Friendly service and the owner who is always at the sushi bar. They also make amazing and impressive party platters for takeout.
Best sushi on the south shore of Montreal with the best chef in town Tony!!!
Value for money hard to beat!
Best sushi in the region.
Great food!
Excellent
Japanese food run by real Japanese, delicious! Its more authentic. At the sushi restaurant I often visit, I can communicate directly with the chef in Japanese!

Excellent sushi, excellent service !
Sushi was meh. Sushi shop has better sushi then here. Ordered a lunch special as well with tempura, beef, scallops, and chicken. Beef was overcooked, scallops were fishy. Soup was overally salty. Service was really slow. Servers were really nice though. Not worth the 30 bucks, as most of it was ineditable. (Including some of the sushi)
Very well prepared and cordial service. Family business and therefore, service a little slower. Good atmosphere
Best sushi on the South Shore of Montreal! The freshness is impeccable. Warm service.
I love this place. The food is very good. Beautiful presentation of the dishes. The decor is sober and very clean. Small, intimate and quiet place. Prices are correct. Parking nearby. The only small problem is that the employees understand French well but dont speak it much but we manage to understand each other very well. The waiters are always polite, courteous and smiling.
Very nice experience I am not used to sushi but the chef gave me very good advice which earned him a 5 star thank you for these very good sushi
Very nice authentic sushi place. What a surprise!
Excellent sushis and friendly service!
Excellent
Awesome authentic japanese
Japonese culinary experience!!!
Very good quality fish and good sushi!
Delicious best sushi I have ever had and the service was excellent
My go-to Japanese restaurant in the South shore. Prices are decent and dishes are fresh. The restaurant fills up quickly on Friday/Saturday evenings, so be sure to reserve in advance.
Delicious sushi with tasty variety of Japanese bar food (izakaya). Try the okonomiyaki!
This place seriously restored our faith in Montreal sushi. We had been looking for good sushi since returning home from living in Asia and we were always disappointed with the fish in Montreal. Yasu is a quaint Japanese family-owned restaurant with really beautiful and fresh fish. The chef takes pride in his food and knows what he is doing. I highly recommend the grilled salmon head, spicy scallop, eel, salmon, tuna and omelet nigiri!
Well enough
good
Great place.
