Best fancy spot in Ladner, Greek cuisine that outshines restaurants in the city. Truly passionate about food, people, and coming together - fantastic customer experience. Highly recommend - try the Tarama for something different, the tender sauteed calamari for fresh instead of fried, and the lamb options are superb - as is pretty much everything on the menu. The decor is all original imported from Greece and the ambiance is clean, sultry, and cozy. Happy eating =)

Amazing! Our food was delish. I had Moussaka and my husband had Calamari. Sakanaki to start. Lots of food! I wish they would waste so much bread, they give u a crazy amount. All the servers around us were friendly and engaging. Our server was a very nice young lady, I think Kora? Very pleasant and inviting. Such a pleasure to come to a restaurant where the staff are happy to be there. All white interior, clean, and updated.

Love Taverna Gorgona. The staff is always very friendly and the food is amazing. We happened to have lunch the last day they are open for lunches on weekdays. We will be back for dinners for sure.

We went for lunch today. Our chicken souvlaki was very tasty. The spanakopita was ok, a little bland and hard. It had parmesan on it, which we thought was odd. Our servers skirt exposed far too much when she leaned over to clean another table. I didnt know what to say to her. A classy restaurant deserves classy servers and hostesses who represent the business appropriately. Perhaps its worth a conversation. Thank you for a lovely souvlaki lunch. It is a beautiful Greek restaurant.

Food is tasty. Portions are on the smaller side. I figured for 25 bucks you would get two skewers of lamb but nope just one. Dinner for myself with one appt was $54. Definitely not worth it.

Solid Greek food and a much improved dine in experience from a couple of years ago. Modernising front of house has made such a noticeable difference and the service was pretty good. Air flow inside is still not the greatest but not unbearable. Houmus was delicious and the Souvlaki very well prepared. Ill look forward to returning for dinner for sure.

We ve tried this place a number of times. Service is good as is the atmosphere. However the food is at the level of pizza and Greek delivery that s open 24 hours. Garlic prawns floating in garlic water etc. Pricing is very high for this level of food. Go for the atmosphere but not the food. Cheers

Easily the best greek food I have had west of the Ionian Sea. Fantastic flavours, tender meats, crispy salads and excellent service too. Its top of my dining list when visiting Vancouver from Europe.

What a beautiful experience. The ambiance is clearly well thought out with attention to detail on every table. The food was great. Classic green dishes well presented. We met a young lady working there named Kora. She provided genuinely hospitable service. Making light conversation while mentioning menu items she liked. She was knowledgeable and proud of where she works.

Service was good, food was terrible. Roast lamb was dry, tomatoes in the Greek salad were dry and past their prime. Moussaka gave me heartburn. My son was up throwing up that night from the ribs.

As far as authentic Greek restaurants in the lower mainland, Taverna Gorgona is by far the closest. I lived in Greece for 1 year and I can say that the ambiance, music, and scents in the restaurant feel like you re in Greece. The food was 10/10. The calamari was nothing I ve ever had before and the lamb was cooked to perfection. My one wish is for the staff/service to be more consistent and perhaps to be a bit more professional. We didn t have cutlery or napkins on the table and had to ask 3 separate times for them. We were served by 3-4 different servers and didn t feel attended to. Going to a restaurant like this one, you d expect to have a good relationship with your server, but sadly we did not receive that. Other than that, we would definitely go back because the food was incredible!

This quaint restaurant in Ladner is wonderful! The ambience with the white decor is peaceful and lovely. We ordered the chicken souvlaki and spanakopita dinners. Both were generous sized portions and delicious. The chicken was done to perfection and the spanakopita was flavourful along with the rest of the meal. The service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our evening very much. This is the place to come for Greek food in Delta.

Excellent food. Very disappointed that we made reservations at least 2 weeks ahead and we re seated near the restrooms and in the draft of the door. We also received our meal within 2 minutes of receiving our appetizer. Parking: Lots of parking in the area.

Dined here with my wife for the first time. Had calamari to start and the roast lamb for the main. Too full for dessert unfortunately so I cant comment. Food quality was excellent. Calamari was tender, crispy, not greasy and not overly battered. The Roast lamb was fall off the bone, tender, juicy and beautifully flavored in its blend of herbs and spices along with the rice, potato and salad. Our server Alona did an excellent job over all this evening and was very helpful when we mentioned to her that my wife has a Dairy allergy and offered right away to switch out the Tzatziki for hummus, omit the feta on her salad and not serve the pita with melted butter on top. It was nice not having to explain or negotiate this substitution, as we have had to do with servers at other restaurants. I on the other hand really enjoyed the Tzatziki and how it was prepped. Thinking it was whipped would be my guess and the texture was light and beautiful. We will definitely return soon. My wife said she would like to come back for her birthday with her family so we will be sure to make a reservation for then. Well done Taverna Gorgona. As a hobbyist chef you earned your 5 stars from me.

We were here to celebrate my daughters 29th birthday . We had been here a few times before. My wife, my daughter, son-in-law and I were dining this time around. I saw many of the reviews recommend the Saganaki and the roast lamb. They were spot on with their recommendations. We ordered the Saganaki and Hummus for appetizers. We then ordered roast lamb, lamb souvlaki, calamari dinner with all Ceasar salad and calamari dinner with the rice pilaf, potato and Greek salad. The saganaki was set on fire with the shot of liquor in a cast iron serving pan. The Hummus was delicious. The dinner meals were outstanding. I can tell you my order of calamari with Ceasar salad was so tender and lightly breaded. Perfectly seasoned and sprinkled with white onions, I couldnt stop eating this meal. The roast lamb that my son-in-law had and the lamb souvlaki that my daughter had was so tender and so perfectly cooked. We inhaled and destroyed our meals. I should mention that the server was attentive, professional and courteous. Only one issue was that I had mentioned in my Open table reservation that it wouldve been nice to have a special birthday treat from the restaurant, which was missed. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience and we would love to come back to try the other items. Thank you. Parking: Lots of parking out on the street

Very nice Greek restaurant! We were there on a Friday night and it was BUSY! Make sure to make a reservation. The service was very nice, not intrusive and we brought our own bottle of wine which we were charged a corkage fee for (which we expected and accepted). The meals were brought out in a timely fashion and were delicious. My favorite roast lamb had a LOT of meat, a small Greek salad, one potato and an enormous amount of rice. There was also a small tzatziki with it. Very, very nice.

Yikes! This restaurant has been a favourite of mine for some time. The food and service has always been out of this world but I attended Saturday night and was just beside myself. The owner of this establishment was sitting at the bar drinking like crazy and feeding drinks to girls who look quite young. It seemed to me that he was being very touchy with them it looked very inappropriate from where I was sitting. It was gross and very unappealing and I don t feel comfortable supporting this business anymore due to the fact that the boss was intoxicated and preying on young girls. Are they legal age? This is a local restaurant for me and I ve loved it for years but after this experience I will not be coming back.

Great local spot with consistent food and service. It gets busy on weekends, whether you have resos or not, so patience is helpful.

The food was very acceptable and tasty especially the lamb shoulder. We had a minor problem with one entree but when brought to the servers attention she immediately took care of it! Bougatsa was awesome. The wine list was narrow for my liking and two items we picked were unavailable but we managed to find a decent wine to accompany the dinner. I really liked their choice in high quality Greek music and Josie was exceptionally pleasant. The prices may seem high to some people but when you consider chain restaurants are charging $ 25 for a chuck burger I would say this restaurant offers great value considering the high cost of food these days. Keep up the great work!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time here with my family. The lamb roast was falling off the bone, so tender. The waiter who attended to us was very friendly. She explained the menu and clarified certain points. The ambience and food was great even though we visted on a rainy day. I personally found the potatoes a bit too lemony although the white sauce balanced it out. Would I visit again? Oh yes!

My wife and her sisters went for dinner tonight , a yearly Mother s Day tradition. Tonight s experience was awful; completed lack of service with an entire order being missed, only to be told that the kitchen was too busy, and that the wait would be 20min. Then, when the family wanted to order deserts, they are told the next reservation was waiting and they couldn t order what they wanted because, and I quote you have to be done in 20min . My wife and her sisters chose to leave. They have lost my families business, and as the story is told to others, an impact to their brand.

Best calamari around! Highly recommend the moussaka. But the slouvaki (chicken, beef oe lamb) dishes are all incredible. Great service and very easy to find a seat on a weekday evening. Best Greek place around!

I would give this a 2 at times, a 4 at times. So Ive averaged it out at 3. This is my sisters go-to place for celebration dinners and large take-outs when family is in town, so Im pretty familiar with it. Upside: They have nice big dinners and usually very friendly, decently competent servers. The in-restaurant atmosphere is warm and clean and Greek, all blue and white and full of windows: a big part of the draw. On the downside: the moussaka is the only thing I like in their fairly limited menu. (Except for the excellent tzatziki.) Theyve gotten my sisters take-out order wrong multiple times in a row. Their salad is weirdly undressed, dry, unappetizing. I dont understand this.

Everything was very good but service needs to be better. Waited for a while to place our order, and it took some time before we received our drinks as I had to ask someone for it. When our dinner arrived, they forgot to include the pita bread as I had to ask for it.

This authentic Greek restaurant has a lovely, airy ambiance both inside and out on the patio. They play Greek music, serve good lamb and even make the best dessert ever - bougatsa! (Its very hard to find in most Greek restaurants anymore!) I found the rice a bit dry, though, and somehow too spicy for my liking, but otherwise, it was a great experience - for a reasonable price. Ladner is such a cute, quaint village, its worth making the rather long trip for!

A really great Greek Food restaurant

If you ever come to Ladner, Taverna Gorgana is one of the best restaurants to check out. Excellent Greek food, awesome atmosphere, great service and good times... We had a large party of 10 tonight, Alexa was friendly, on point and amazing. Alona is the best, shes been at Taverna for years, super friendly and pleasant, and makes it an enjoyable experience for the diners. Franco and his whole staff are exceptional, and always go above and beyond!

Best Greek restaurant in BC! Delicious food, amazing service and beautiful ambiance. Owner Franco and his team are welcoming, wonderful and on point! One of my favourite restaurants, which has now become a fast fave with family and friends who travel from other cities to dine at Taverna! Definitely a jewel in the dining world in Metro Vancouver region.

Visited this restaurant for the first time a few weeks ago and we were gladly surprised. The staff was very friendly and happy to provide suggestions. The pita bread and dips were fantastic, I would go again and again only for that. The main plates are very large, enough for at least 2-3 people to share. Dont be scared by the price tag because like I said, youre getting a lot of tasty food for what youre paying.

Ive tried a lot of Greek restaurants and this is by far my favorite! They do it right in all aspects - the food, the ambiance, the service! Everything is flavorful and the portions are generous. My favorite entree is the Greek Ribs and my favorite dessert is definitely the Ekmek!

Was very happy to find this place while working in the area, one of the only restaurants in Ladner open past 8. Hands down the best lamp chops I ve ever had, and I order it off of every menu I see them on! The rice and Greek salad were also spot on, very friendly staff and atmosphere was perfect. Wish I could give 10 stars! I will be back!

Had an excellent Valentines Dinner.. Glad we made reservations as capacity issues were in effect so every second table was closed. Saw people being turned away at the door... Had the Beef Souvlaki and my wife had the chicken. Our server Josie was friendly, engaging and did a great job. She managed a few tables at the same time. Keep this one.... Great meal and ambiance so we will definitely be back.

Crazy busy Valentines Day weekend night. Had to sit at the bar. Service was good, very pleasant and prompt. The food was good, not great. Likely due to the crowd. We will give this spot another try and hopefully the food improves with less pressure on the kitchen.

There were 4 of us. We ordered the Lamb, Salmon, and Vegetarian entrees. The food was so good! Emphasis on so good! I havent had such delicious Greek food in so long and the portion size was excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant.

By far, the best greek food restaurant. The whole experience was outstanding. The place is easy to find and very distinguishable with its external blue colour. The restaurants internal design is simple but classy & cheerful. we ordered Lamb chops & Calamari souvlaki. My oh my, the food was above and beyond, with a big portion and a very tasty side, it was the perfect night. I totally recommend. Just to be fair, thats my experince, other people may have different experinces. The only thing I noticed was that they had everybody in a very cramped place (On the left of the entrance) while leaving the rest of the restaurant empty, it would have been nice to have some privacy.

It had been awhile since I had Greek food. This was like the oasis in the desert. Homemade pita, tzatziki. We both had lamb. One lamb roast and the other a souvlaki. Delicious. What topped it all off for me was the best tasting bavalavka that I have ever had. Worth the trip just for that.

Traverna Gorgona is one of my favorite restaurants in Ladner. They serve top notch Greek food which i love. I highly recommend their greek style calimari to start, along with their saganaki which is their melted greek cheese served with pita. For a main I am all about the lamb so roast lamb is always my go to or the lamb slavaki. No matter what you choose you will be sure to enjoy your meal. The service is also very good. Very friendly staff who is always checking on you. Great place i will always go to when i am in Ladner.

Had a good time at this small neighborhood Greek restaurant in Ladner. Good atmosphere - interior was very well decorated - Greek/Mediterranean style. Food was good. Good portions. Tried the calamari and roast lamb. Our server was great but some of the other hosts could up their service and be more friendly.

Great Food Id recommend this place to anyone who is looking for authentic Greek food and attentive service. This is a good place for celebration and special occasions, as they will treat you with love and care! Ambience is lovely, as the pearly white and blue decor really reminds you of the coast of Aegean Sea (if you have been) I had tried the Spanakopita, and Calamari for appetizers, solid 10/10! There is nothing not to love about these dishes, everything complimented so well. I ordered the rack of lamb for my main entrée, although it is a little more expensive but so worth it! (9/10) I would totally order it again or recommend anyone going there to try! Greek Ribs is also another favorite of that evening. Their portions are huge , so you wont need to worry about going hungry after! We were so stuffed that we had to skip dessert!

Live through atmosphere, service and food

Best lamb shoulder in GVRD. Im sure there are other resteraunts in Ladner but I wouldnt know. Taverna is too good to justify going anywhere else! Dining atmosphere is classy. Good place to bring people you want to impress.

So glad we came out to Ladner for this restaurant! Well designed...bright and welcoming...super friendly staff....and ooohhh the food! We ordered generous juicy chicken slouvaki with best lemon potato ever...so good! Also friend ordered the garlic prawns which were very done and presented. Will definitely be coming back!!!

Roast lamb was excellent, tender and flavoured perfectly. Calamari and saganaki were amazing as well. Food came without much of a wait but everything was still cooked perfectly.

Food is mediocre and overpriced, I have ordered twice now the chicken souvlaki once dine in and another one for take out.. both times dry, bland rice and the greek salad is not fresh you can taste is pre-made and kept on the fridge. The chain Opa has way better food.

Everything was fresh and tasty

I had ordered food for a family reunion, and everyone loved it.

Shared the meat ball appetizer and it was amazing. The lamb was great and everyone else enjoyed their meal.

Dined in on Friday June 10th and made a reservation for 3 at 7 oclock. When we arrived we had no table available and were forced to wait outside until our table was ready, we were seated at almost 7:30...The calamari we ordered for appetizer was excessively overdone and it almost seemed that the squid used was old. Dinner was all right, but the roast lamb wasnt very flavorful and seemed like it was boiled resulting in a loss of flavor. The only pros of the dining experience was the pita bread and tzatziki. Unfortunately, the place seems like it is run by high school kids that are very immature. There are MANY better Greek restaurants located outside of Ladner, so doing yourself a service would be taking your business elsewhere. Overpriced and wont be returning.

Really good experience. Food was tasty, with good portions and a fair price tag. Service was great. The restaurant was clean and tidy. Im not going to downgrade my rating for these, but two comments: 1. Disappointed the didnt offer Kleftico. With the other dishes so enjoyable, I wish they made Kleftico as I bet it would be amazing! 2. We hit the end dinner rush and it was very loud in the restaurant. At the end of our meal many patrons had left and it was a better ambience. Keep up the good work!

Convenient, you can park at the door

I forgot to take a picture because I didnt want to wait to eat my slow roasted lamb. It was so delicious . My husband had the greek ribbs and he was amazed. And he was feed up. And i can tell you that doesnt happen often And last but not least. The price for everything was unbelievable it was not expensive compere to other restaurants here in Vancouver . Loved the atmosphere sitting outside in the Courtyard. A wonderful aspect of this restaurant is that you can choose your main and substitute the sides. I chose spanakopita and didnt want pita or rice so I could get extra potatoes. Or I could have selected a salad. No charge, its all good. Great tasting food.

We booked through an online App & we had a lovely dinner on a Thursday night... Great to have such a wonderful venue in the Village of Ladner! First off, all the staffs here deserve 5 stars! Friendly and very helpful, make you feel relaxed and at home from the moment we stepped into the restaurant! All the meals were prepared with care and the quantity is also matched by quality! Both the Roast Lamb & Greek Ribs were succulent and very tender, accompanied by very fresh Greek Salad & savoury Greek Rice!! Oh and how can I not remember the Saganaki! A must when you want to have a great starter to share or if you are spoiling yourself, have it all by yourself! Will for sure be back to savour other great dishes! Thanks again to all the great people there!! Kudos to Briana!!

Absolutely fantastic Greek. The spicy feta cheese dip (I cant remember the real name) was a beautiful way to start, followed by a pair of souvlakis - lamb and chicken - and topped off with some amazing ekmek. We drove all the way out here from New Westminster, and wed gladly do so again - worth every kilometre!

Always a great experience dining here. The service is very friendly and very quick. The food is amazing! Very fresh and flavorful and tastes authentic. Great portion sizing (although it has been slightly reduced since pre-covid). Only negative is the high extra charge for deciding to not have rice/potatoes/salad and just get a bit more of what you do want or only have 1 of the sides (they dont even add much more to your plate when you do pay the upcharge)

The we decorated and peaceful place to have a nice meal Their meal is not serve more than enough, for me that I don t have a big appetite was enough but if you have a big appetite I am afraid their dish is enough The lamb was great tender and juicy and fresh The calamari was tasty The bread was fresh Their rice was not juicy like other Greek restaurant Their Salad has green peppers The potatoes were cooked in lemon juice All and all you will enjoy your dinner

A delightful experience every time we visit! Delicious food and generous servings! We always bring out of town guests to Taverna Gorgona because we can count on a top notch experience. The patio is gorgeous too!

Best roast lamb ever

We went to Tsawwassen Mills for some back to school shopping. My husband wanted Greek so I made reservations to this restaurant. Great choice indeed. The food, Roast Lamb in particular is awesome. The lamb was oh so tender. Really satisfied our cravings tonight. The ambience was awesome too and we were lucky their live band was playing. Our dessert was yummy too. Lastly, service was great. Awesome hidden gem in Delta. We will surely be back :)

Had a great dinner here last night for my nephews birthday. We have tried Greek all over the lower mainland and I have found my new favourite. Had beef souvlakia as well as calamari and spanakopita for appies. I cannot rave enough about the rice. Most Greek places the rice is plain and bland with minimal seasoning. The beef souvlaki was cooked to perfection I asked for medium rare. Tender and flavourful. The potatoes were just the right amount of lemon and the rice perfectly seasoned and flavourful. The pita bread was fresh and buttered and hot! Everything was done right. We will definitely be back. Service was top notch even with our party of 12. Always friendly and smiling. Gem of a restaurant.

Nice Greek restaurant, a step up from Stephos in everyway

Ordered for take out. The Roast lamb dinner. There is Greek, and then there is Taverna Gorgona. I would give it 10 stars out of 5 if that was an option. Can not wait to go back.

Two couples enjoyed a fabulous dinner! So much to choose from you can t go wrong - Greek red wine was fab, as was the appetizer spicy feta dip and pitas. The entrees are ample and include Salad, pita, tzaziki, potato and the most tasty rice with your choice of feature. A bit crowded but the ambiance is good and the staff was efficient and friendly. Following Covid protocols as well

Not many vegetarian options. I have never been a fan of greek food, but everything was great and fresh. The tables are tight, which made me feel cramped. Balaclavas a must! Lovely service.

The food is fine, but the owner!! Oh my!! He is drunk every time even before 6pm! I was a witness a long time ago when Saturday night he forced his waitresses to stay after midnight keeping company to the customers and dance with them !!!!!
