4953 Chisholm St, Ladner, BC V5S 2W3, Canada
Long-running, waterfront hangout specializing in seafood, with an outdoor patio & a casual ambience.
I love their chowder soup. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of their fish and chips, but their salmon burger is amazing. The service is great, the staff is very polite and the place is clean and cozy.
This place has been one of my new favorites since I moved to lander. I remember only one staff member out of all them and she has the biggest and kindest heart ever when you get to know her. My partner and I just went to the place yesterday because we haven't been there in a while. I love the food for sure.
The service was excellent, the food was alright. Mostly I was disgusted at how the chairs stick to the floor so badly that they can’t be pushed back or brought closer to the table. There is a urine smell near the washrooms. This place is in dire need of a deep clean and a floor sander. Wooden floors shouldn’t be black with sticky filth. I’ve been going here for decades but I think I’ll give it a pass from now on. There are cleaner places to eat in Ladner. 😟
As of Nov 2024, 2 for 1 Cod & Chips on Monday with 2 beverages. Good deal and helps patronage on a normally slow day - smart! Attentive service, super fast and batter was not too thick.
This is a nice place but I think we came on an “off day”. Servers were very busy chatting with selves but I get it, only 6 patrons 🤷♂️ One star for the $17 for 5 shrimp!! The rings were good as were the Caesar and $5 pint. $45 for a snack seems unfair. I’m happy the locals support it but we won’t be back.
Had a couple beers, apps, and chowder. It was great! Lots of fun.
Food was good. I had the Ladner burger. It was tasty but nothing special. Service was great. We ate out on the patio watching a bald eagle or two in the trees. The location was scenic.
Ok… if you have not been here before. Jump in your car or bike or walk here Asap. The patio is amazing. The food is spectacular. I have been here about 4 times over the last 4 years. It honestly feels like it just gets better every time. The garlic steak bites are a 10. Clam chowder is a 10. I promise you you will not be disappointed. Yes it’s that’s good. Plus the beer is ice cold ♥️
Huge menu and good food
Not what it once was
Excellent fish & chips with good draught beer selection. As of 2024 Nov. Special Mondays 2 for 1 on cod & chips.
Our food was great & our waitress was very friendly, efficient & a true gem to Sharkeys. Our group of 6 were all very satisfied. She presented my husband with a nice chocolate mousse as a complimentary dessert for his 80th birthday
A classic place on the water in Ladner! Whether you sit on the patio, or dine inside the staff are always friendly and attentive to your needs. I m a fan of the Cranberry Goat Cheese burger and can t seem to divert from my order when I go there! Love this spot!
Bicycle rack was welcome after a bike ride along the Ladner roads and dies. Food was good and served timely
Good, solid food and service. Not pretentious, just comfortable and relaxing.
First time at Sharkeys, good atmosphere but otherwise not impressed. I got the lunch special with prawn tacos and some kind of tomato soup. With a group of 4 other friends our food took close to 40 mins to arrive. My soup came in a small bowl with just 2 tacos. For $16 or $17, I expected a full sized meal, not an appetizer.
Terrible experience with the Manager Brody. The waitress sat us down and we were a family of 10. As soon as we started sitting down the manager came up to me and said, Guys we were closing I wish you would ve called before . Excuse me ? First of all, if you were closing you should ve told your waitress us that and we would ve looked for another place to eat. We were not from the area Secondly, we came at 1:30-2pm, you were not closing because 2 other customers were there. The website says open until 9pm. We asked for waters for the table and the manager brought them to us. My brother explained to him to have the waters on our side since we have 2 children with special needs. We did not want them to spill the water on the table and make a mess. The manager just took the water and walked away with it. We kept calling him and he continued to walk away. We walked up to the front and explained it to him and he was mumbling saying okay I guess they don t want water then . Food was mediocre if I could give 0 stars I would. Only reason our meal was somewhat less stressful was because of our waitress Olga, I believe her name. She kept checking on us made sure everyone was okay. She was lovely and kept chatting with us. It s a shame that people like Brody, specially being a manager that he is was very rude and insensitive.
our favorite place for fish and chips and love the way they extended their patio
Nice restaurant, good atmosphere for a larger group, friendly staff. Burgers and fish and chips are good. I do not recommend the pasta it was not cooked fully and the sauces were runny just not the place for pasta dishes!
Nice view. Awesome service. Food is good and good value. Whats not to like? Dietary restrictions: Gf friendly Food : 4/5 |
Loved this place for a nice dinner. Great vibe/atmosphere. Candlelit table, good music, service was incredible. Highly recommend
Very affordable and delicious food and drinks!! The atmosphere was also very nice on the outdoor patio.
Food was amazing, Sean our server was prompt and polite. Fish and chip are so good. Thanks for the great experience definitely will come back! Dietary restrictions: Lots of GF options
Always a great place to go for lunch or dinner!! They have live music on certain Fridays.
Thought it was a good place at first until we seen mice running around on the floor of the restaurant.... honestly i am not to sure if i feel good after eating there... half way through my meal i see mice running around on the floor
Good food with a lovely outdoor space in the summer.
We came at noon yesterday and it s pretty empty. We wanted to sit at a table near the windows. It s not reserved, but the waitress told us we couldn t sit there because they wanted to distribute the customers evenly across the restaurant. The waitress was a blond young girl, a little fat. The table assigned to us was very short and the chairs too tall for that table. We couldn t even put our legs under the table and it s very uncomfortable.
Amazing service and best patio in town
Great selection of seafood, one of the best seafood restaurants in Greater Vancouver.
Really excellent food, service and a nice calm atmosphere too. The patio was well shaded and cool to sit on. The calamari melted in the mouth and the Halibut and chips were excellent too. And then there was the cheesecake... If youre in the area this is well worth a visit.
Salmon burger...nuff said. Everything I have eaten here is amazing, fresh, tasty...great service and a lovely location Food
The batter on the cod is thin and crisp. Delicious and too greasy.
Classic spot! Food is always delish!
I remember the fish and chips being good... They were pretty mediocre... Patio by the river was nice but not enough to come just for that. .
Came in after dinner rush so it wasnt busy. But it still took 15 mins to place our drinks order. Servers seemed off! Lovely place, but we wont be back.
Id never been here before and it smelled amazing riding by, so I decided to give Sharkeys a try. Ill give 1 star for the calamari and 1 star for the outside patio and great location. Our young, slim, male waiter with the high pitched voice couldnt keep track of two order items. Calamari and salt and pepper wings shouldnt be hard to remember, especially when he asked me to repeat the second item (the wings) because he apparently wasnt paying attention. When he brought out the order, he said calamari and steak bites right? NO, calamari and wings. When the wings eventually came they looked like they were freezer burnt and were about a 2.5/5. If you cant keep track of two items, cant acknowledge your mistake, screw up the order for another table at the same time as mine, then send another waitress to collect payment, youre not getting a tip. The only tip Im giving you is to consider another career. Waiting tables isnt for you. I wont rule out a return visit, but Id expect better next time.
Enjoyable local establishment with good service and a surprising number of gluten free options.
Great food. Had the fish tacos which were absolutely delicious. Our server was amazing. Food
The decor inside is on point for a seafood restaurant. We chose to sit on the patio by the river so we could watch the Eagles fish. Nachos were good, as was the veggie burger with a nice amount of perfectly done fries. My friend enjoyed her calamari. The server was attentive and chatty; she was great. We will return. Take advantage of their happy hour menu.
Delicious. Nice location.
Great service! Really good food at food prices. Will recommend very highly, and would come back for sure.
Location and view are very good
Lovely atmosphere along the river with excellent food & service.
Best fish and chips in Vancouver
Had dinner with friends and relatives. Very good food. Staff service was awesome. We had dinner out doors, the view and atmosphere was memorable.
Mediocre food and service
Great food at a reasonable price and lovely setting
Update on my previous good food comments. Things have changed. Great service, but food not quite as good, olive oil stale/ changed the taste of my salad, and things like difficulty getting fresh ground pepper for salad, over cooked fish on my brothers plate. Really nice location on the estuary. Dietary restrictions: They seem to be good at making salad that is gluten and dairy free- but be very careful about asking for olive oil, check it for freshness. Parking: No problem Kid-friendliness: Very good Wheelchair accessibility: Family member in a w/c easily accommodated in a previous visit no problem.
Large outdoor patio, great to park our bikes and have lunch
We were regulars in Sharkey s. Love the beer, food and atmosphere. Have been the regularly for years. We wish this classic restaurant do well. But today ( April 23, 2024) we were there around 6:45pm, we ordered beer and food. We kept waiting and waiting, no food coming and the waitress didn t care to check with us. After half hour waiting, finally we grabbed the waitress ( she is in her 20th with a pony tail), said the kitchen is very busy and food will come soon. After another 5 minutes, she came back asked : what do you want? we said : what? , then she said she forgot to enter our order and lost the piece of paper she wrote down our order. !!!! It has been 10 years since we started hangout in Sharkey s, this never happen! She didn t apologize. We paid our beer and left. Dear owner of Sharkey s, you should not let somebody like this works there. We wish your business goes well.
The food was good and the server was very nice and attentive ,but unhappy with a pricing issue. I had the two piece cod and a happy hour beer, which is advertised as 5$ on happy hour... But It came out to 5.99 on the bill. I had the server check that it was right, and yes, that was the price. Very misleading. 99c is not a big deal, but it felt like I was getting cheated with the advertisement/pricing.
Service was good and quick. Appetizers were good. Mussels were tasteless. Fried oysters very meaty. Portions were plentiful.
Cool old restaurant by the water thats showing its age. Fish was good (chips were not). Clientele are not generaly young. Ok for a quick bite of lunch and a beer though.
Great burger and fries. Friendly staff.
Came in for lunch with family. The whole place smelled strongly of cleaner and something else that was quite pungent. Service was amazing, prompt and attentive. Got the fish and chips and the cod tasted like it was from the freezer section, light breading and the fries were soggy. Ordered a Cesar and asked for it spicy, but instead of spicy it just tasted like Worcestershire. I will try again at dinner time soon, but this experience wasnt great.
Great old time spot. We really enjoyed our food and the server was great.
Best service ever! A hidden gem for sure Food
Haddock Fish n Chips was tasty but not very moist and rather expensive but isnt that the new normal? I suppose. Atmosphere very niece. Service very good.
Went there on a sunny Saturday and sat on the very run down patio with the faded plastic chairs, the view of the river was nice so I tried to concentrate on that. I started with an Gin and lime Caesar and when it arrived it was so dark and all I could taste was worcestershire, so I sent it back, she returned with a replacement and it wasnt much better and I couldnt drink it. Luckily she did remove it from the bill. I had the mussels and frites which were just average tasting not much flavor and bland French fries. My partner had the fish and chips which was dry flat pieces of crusty battered fish and again tasteless fries. The waitress was polite and tried her best, and the only reason I gave 2 stars to an otherwise 1 star experience.
I must say that the service was very good, but the food was surprisingly bad for a seafood restaurant. Fish seemed to come from a package, even fries were tasteless and not fresh. Pan fried oysters had to sent back for more cooking, and the coating was soggy. Ordered veggies with the oysters - turned out to be deconstructed coleslaw - cooked carrots & cabbage. Very disappointing.
Environment is nice, food is delicious. Staff are very friendly, my family and I have a good time there. Prices are very reasonable.
Sharkeys is your classic, old school, plenty of locals, kind of place that serves terrific food along with exceptional service. Sorry no photos but trust me, the food is fabulous and for ambiance, it simply doesnt get better!
Manhattan ok, cod fine, chips not so fine. The server was very good with our big top. Rainy day, sat inside, all ok. Food : 3/5
The food may not be deep-sea worthy, but the service was so on point
The salad was not fresh, the fish flavourless and the French fries not crispy. Save your money don t come to this place
The burgers, sandwiches and salads were pretty good but the Caesar drink wasn t very tasty. Our waitress was excellent. Good location. Main complaint was the toilets needed a good clean and the restaurant smelled a bit sour.
So nice
Nice out of the way spot with an above average atmosphere. Please like this review
Great food and service! Highly recommend the Ladner burger.
The fish and chips, I had the Cod, was simply delicious . NB. Order 2 piece, and 2 tartar sauce! Ill be back.
Limited vegan options (house salad and a beyond burger), but the burger was very well made and service was quick and friendly. Food prices are quite high for a pub, the burger add-ons are especially expensive. Vegetarian options: A few vegetarian options (mostly burgers and salads). Dietary restrictions: Two vegan options (beyond burger & house salad). Can add-on vegan cheese for additional cost.
Great bar and grille. Generous proportions, charismatic waitresses.
Very mediocre fish and chips. Very mediocre service. Good fry s.
Went for hopefully a nice seafood dinner while visiting the west coast. The salmon was over cooked. The garlic mashed potatoes were lumpy pasty and not flavourful. The vegetables were cool. Not really anything to rave about at all. The service was the worst I have had in years. The young lady kind of threw the menus at us. Never came back to see how our meal was tasting. After we ate she gave the bill without asking if we wanted anything further.
Not again. I keep giving them chances and have always been disappointed. Food is not good and not worth the money.
Really cool cozy building right on the water with all kinds of lobster traps of other fishing and nautical knick knacks all over the walls (think of like a more authentic Red Lobster. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Eagles and ducks a plenty Amazing clam chowder, cod bites were really good. Dont bother with the burger its $19, pretty sure it was a frozen Patty and add ons are like $4 a pop! Fries are hand-cut and crispy, delicious. Ceasar wasnt great so Id suggest sticking to the beers and other drinks. Will definitely come back in the spring/summer to check out the large patio. Parking: Lots of free parking in the area
Great food, service and ambiance. The decor gives a very comforting and pacific feel, the staff is genuine and extremely nice, the food is great with an ever changing menu and the beer selection is much better than surrounding businesses. Sharkey s is a frequent repeat for our family!
LOTS of seafood choices. So I had the goat cheese and cranberry bacon burger My wife had a seafood salad Food : 4/5
I have to give the staff 5 stars as they were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was pleasant and the devour matched our expectations. However for a pub/restaurant on a pier the coating on their cod really needs improvement.
Food was very solid, great place to order seafood. Service was top notch and love the atmosphere.
Great food and very friendly staff came in from Alberta to visit family was so good went here twice well in town
Average but the ambience and quaintness of this local themed pub with an okay price makes it worth the five stars. Go there when shopping at Tsawwassen, better than the mall food!
Much better than years ago
We arrived at 11:40 am. Friday, expecting a busy place (based on previous visits over a year ago). The parking lot was empty. I mean, not one car. Almost drove away, should have... The server was pleasant and quick to the table. Got our drinks quickly enough. Came back to take our order in good time (still no other customers in the establishment). Ordered a burger with cheese bacon and mushrooms and included fries. My wife ordered the 1 pc halibut and fries. We had two pops. Serving time was resonable. The Halibut was anything but edible. It tasted like old cod but chewy. It was not eaten. My burger was not bad. Waited it seamed forever to get a server to come back to the table to pay the bill. (Side note, only one other couple came in while we were there and poked their head in to ask if they were indeed open). I explained to the server that the halibut was less than acceptable and she was good to remove it from the bill. My take away here is this. My bill for 1 bacon mushroom cheesburger and 2 pops with a tip for the server (that was studious) came to over $50.00 I now know why the parking lot remains empty. PS: I grew up on the Ladner Lifeboat in its past life in Richmond and have roots in this community. I hope this restaurant can find its way back to the destination it once was.
Waitress was great but the food sucks.
Love Monday fish and chips awesome but as for Diana. Ive been in there plenty of times and I feel she should at least make the effort to come over and say Hey its nice to see you Again but she Doesnt very disappointing considering ive come all the way from surrey to see you guys. 4 stars for food and 1 star for Diana.
Good food, large portions, served quickly by friendly people. Ticks all the boxes for an excellent dining-in experience. Will definitely return!
My salmon was dry and burnt. I left over half on the plate. You could see it was black and stiff. Told the waitress. When she gave us the bill we were still charged for this inedible meal. Only when we said we weren t going to pay for it did she bother to check with manager to see if that would be okay. Will not go back.
Great atmosphere
Ordered a virgin margarita and it was so salty. Too much salt around the rim and the cocktail straws just sucked up the salt cubes that fell in. Also ordered a seafood penne, very low on the clams but high on the clam sauce ( if you know what I mean). But the atmosphere is pretty neat and the service is great. Very attentive and genuinely happy seemingly. The food comes quick and its satisfying overall. Parking: Angled parking which was very stylish
Ive not been here in years, good little bar & grille, good pub food, patio overlooking the water will be a great spot on the warmer days & evenings to meet with friends & family super relaxing atmosphere & fabulous service !
Nice place for a beer and hamburger.
Great patio next to a river. Bring yourself on a date with your gal or beau Food
Loved the atmosphere. Service and food were ok. Ducks were funny. Overall a cute lil hidden gem
Family get-together. Great food and service. Lots of laughs.
I was quite disappointed with the food quality and the family ordered fish and chips, cajun cod sandwich and sockeye salmon burger. I guess it does well because of the location with limited competition in the area and the excellent service. Will not go back. Lots of restaurants I have been to in Surrey/White Rock that serve seafood and chips that is truly way better.
Very friendly staff and manager, great spot for the whole family. Will go again.
Menu is terrible. Everytime I go here I have a hard time picking something. Very low effort menu.
The nachos could have used more time in the oven, and the mashed up burger on top was pretty lacklustre
This is a bit of a mixed review. All three elements of decor, service, and food had good and bad points. We were seated outside on a lovely day. Distracting from our experience was a seating area somewhat past needing updating and replacement. The deck, our table, and seating/umbrellas had all been in service too long. However, it is a beautiful location next to the water and with ducks wandering among tables looking for crumbs of food. This made us overlook the condition of the seating area. Our waitress was friendly and delightfully relaxed. She entered into a pantomime display when words failed to adequately describe a dish. However, the food was slow to come and we had to seek out someone when we wanted to pay our bill. The food was also mixed. The cioppino was excellent with generous portions of seafood. However, the hamburger was dry and had excessive condiment sauce. The salad, similarly, was smothered in dressing. All of these concerns are easily spotted in the kitchen. If you are seeking a good cioppino, order the accompanying salad with dressing on the side. Enjoy the view.
Nice patio on the river. Great spot for an afternoon beer and some mussels
Service was good but the food needed to be cooked more.
My husband and I heard about this restaurant from a friend, so we thought we would give it a try for my husbands birthday, and are so happy we did! Since the pandemic, we want to support small businesses, and we will definitely be back! Sarah was our server and she could not have been any friendlier...she made us feel welcome and gave us great recommendations for our dinner. We cant wait to come back to try other items on the menu!
Food was ok... had better. Service was good, even if she forgot to put my order to the kitchen. Atmosphere was great, we sat on the deck on a nice sunny day. Found it odd a kitchen staff was chasing ducks outside, but I seen worse things. Overall its a nice family style restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Nice kids menu, that they can colour. Good options also.
We had a new server and she struggled to service her tables. We ordered the Ladner Express to start. The serving size was smaller than last time we were there (pre Covid). The sauce was not as good. My entres vegetables and mashed garlic potatoes were lukewarm (the potatoes were shaped as if they came out of a can). I had to take the food back to the bar because we could not get our servers attention. When they brought it back, they did not bring a fork. I asked for one but our server decided to take another tables order so my wife went and got one for me. We finished our beers just after the main course was presented and could not get the servers attention to ask for another round. We had asked for ground pepper and that did not come until we were basically done our food. The location is great and the service and food has always been great here. Perhaps this was just a bad day.
This might have been the best sea food I have had in Canada. It was amazing and the price didnt break the bank. I almost want to tank rank it so no one else finds this gem. 100% will go back. Dietary restrictions: Could make GF options along with dairy free options.
The food was delicious and it was lovely sitting outside by the river. Our server was cheerful and efficient and gave us great ideas for lunch.
Tasty. Fresh air. Everything is great. Well stop by again.
Me and my family come here all the time and the owner of the place was really rude as we found a hair in my sons fries and he tried to argue with me about it and said it was from the potatoe sack and it wasnt and there was so much attitude not sure if Ill be back:(
The price is a little expensive, but everything else is OK
We are still here waiting. Its been 30 minutes and we havent even gotten our appetizers
The patio is suitable for gathering and intimate enough for two. Atmosphere is casual and the menu provides options for a quick bite.
Unfortunately the food we received was subpar and thats been the way the food has been trending the past few times weve gone. This time they were out of Halibut and the calamari we ordered was soggy and lacking in flavor, tasting mostly of oil.
We were glad to hear that they had a dedicated gluten free fryer. Now they just need to have an option for gluten free coating for the fish. That said, the pan fried fish was very flavourful. The Cioppino was decent though the mussels were disappointing. Tiny and not great flavour. Still our go to if I m Ladner. Outside seating is great.
Came here for lunch, great food, fair prices, would definitely return
Excellent fish and chips! Large enough portions that a friend and I shared. Our other friends ordered some coleslaw that I tried and was also tasty. Prices and food were absolutely wonderful! Id highly recommend dining here. Cant wait to come back and try something else.
Perfect day for lunch on the patio. Great service, great food. I was delighted that they had Glutenberg gluten free beer.
Ive had a few business lunches here and the staff is always the highlight for me. They just seem really friendly for a bar that sees a slow lunch crowd at times. If I had any complaints its that, in the summer, it gets a bit warm inside since the restaurant leaves its patio open. Not a deal breaker by any means. There home cooked fries and battered fish would be my choice dishes.
its hard not to like this place. Inside, its a warm atmosphere outside, beautiful and inviting patio. it is a charming hangout. I personally enjoyed it with food. go ahead and order some, you wont regret it. I was pleased with the service; helpful and there when I need it something. I can not wait for my return
Went for lunch with my golf buddies. One of which rolled in on his new scooter, so we appreciated the back patio which is level for wheelchairs & scooters. Beer was cold and Sharkeys is known for fish & chips so my friends had that. I ordered Cajun Chicken Burger with salad. Thought I would skip the bun, however dont recommend that as side salad was small and chicken filet was small on the plate as well. Should of just had the burger to fill me up....... Server was welcoming, and attentive and the view of the River made this a pleasant place to hang out and have lunch. Wheelchair accessibility: Has a flat back patio in addition to a patio deck. Easy to get in and closer to the water.
Food was ok but not outstanding. Burger and salad was about $19 a plate. It had a nice patio. Food
This is my second time at the restaurant the food quality with shellfish is poor. First time we have ordered Cioppion and all the shellfish is very fishy and tasted bad, second time we ordered the pan fried Oysters and it s bad, the oyster do not tasted fresh, used a lot capers to cover the fishy and bad taste. The restaurants smells mouldy and table are sticky (it wasn t like that in the winter) Definitely not going back again.
Patio was wonderful to sit on. Nice to visit with our family and friends. Food wasnt the greatest, but ok.
Needs refreshed management / ownership that refines the experience end to end. Refresh the outside seating already (properly), liven flavour profiles for the whole menu (& discover the pepper mill), and offer value (i.e. the seafood penne was poor, why?). Pay your servers properly (requiring less kiddy service), vest in the real upcoming rockstars onboard, and lose the one hostess rolling eyes in contempt... These kinds of basics are not rocket science to grasp & execute correctly as a floor manager, kitchen manager, or an owner (Tony). The rest should fall into place... Its a great location, it has some great cultural decor, beer taps taste clean, and amidst a mediocre menu it has a few seafood stand outs. From the current state, its a curve to compel people to return... Good luck and enjoy your substantially improved future profits (not forgetting the value part). And dont forget to thank your online consultants who cared enough to take a light out to where you stand.
Only my second visit to the bar /grill ,friendly staff and good food. Will certainly pay a visit on my next visit to Canada.
Nice atmosphere outside eating along the river, the down side is the outdoor furniture needs updating, plastic not too stable chairs and faded tables. Server was very friendly and helped me pick my dish. Wasnt very knowledgeable on craft beer taste and 2 that I wanted were out. Good news is the Ciopinno was delicious and generous amounts of seafood. It looked small when it arrived but it was a deep bowl. Very yummy and Ill go back again next time Im in the area.
Servers were really attentive and great with our kiddo. The food was tasty and the patio is a great spot to sit and watch the water pass you by. Good spot for a slow Sunday
Had a horrible experience. Took forever to be seated and 40 mins to just take our drink order. Ordered the Neptune and paid 28 and there was no crab and the rice was uncooked.Orinally we wanted garlic mash potatoes, but the didnt have any and substituted the rice. The other plate the rice was uncooked as well. The service was just horrible and the place was not even busy. They had an large number of waitresses. Hardly anyone at the place eating. I wouldnt eat here again. The place itself was nice and would have been relaxing if the service wasnt so horrible.
Friendly service. Attentive. Lots of patio space by the river. Delicious, very hearty, plates. Great craft beer deal when I went. Vegetarian options: Impossible burger
Food was not that great, the fish dish didn t look great, the broth was basically just water. Fish and chips was soggy. Place is very nice, outside patio right by the river was very nice. Tables and chairs were horrible plastic and stained. Overall would not come here again.
Had dinner here when we were in Vancouver. Great place, food was delicious and fresh, and service was top-notch! View also from the patio was great!
All the waitresses were patient and friendly. We sat at the far corner of the patio and yet they would still come and check on us frequently.
First of all: the staff are delightful and attentive, no complaints about them. However, the whole place is in dire need of a renovation. The tables are sticky, the menus are sticky, even the floors are sticky. Not dirty, but our server said they can t get the stickiness off the tables no matter how clean they are. For the prices charged, I expected much better. Outside on the patio has cheap plastic chairs and tables that have seen better days. I won t return.
The fish & chips were the best I have had in a long time. Fresh and delicious!
nice patio on the Fraser River slough in Ladner....super friendly staff
Breaded fish and chips is not fish and chips. It was shall we say not a great plaice. The best thing was the coleslaw.
The Ladner Burger patty looked burned and tough..
Great location. Great food but service can be slow when busy. Friendly helpful staff
Great patio. Right along the river. Good fish and chips. Reasonable prices for drinks
Nice FnC, the Slaw is excellent as well as the staff.
Take out service was quick, price reasonable.
The location if you want to sit on the water is nice but food is not good. Drinks were mhee. For the price the food that you get is way overpriced. Fish over cooked, dried out & very hard. The servers, even though it was not busy at all, seemed to be running around. Deep fried stuff was very, very deep fried. On a sunny day if you want to sit by the water it is the better of the two options down there but everything very pricey for area.
A lovely restaurant; overflowing with character. Charming patio by the water. Great food and staff. Cant go wrong here. Been a guest many times; always good.
Fabulous people and amazing vibes! I left my purse and they kept it hidden for me til I called and I showed up and a gentleman came out and gave me my purse. Lots of respect to you and the business. Thank you 10/10 food and service !
Delicious seafood
Ordered for a family of three and we found the food was a pretty low average and it was obvious that the seafood wasnt very fresh. The server didnt really know much about the food when we asked and it was a bit on the bland side. I ordered the fish and chips and when the chips outshine the fish it makes you rethink your dining choice. Id give the food more of a 1.5/5 as it wasnt so bad that Id send it back, but I did leave questioning how I could get charged as much as I did for the low quality of food. The atmosphere was nice, but it was pretty empty when we went and I noticed that there was one other young family including us and the rest of the patrons were in their 70s. Maybe its a bit more lively later in the day/evening. The fireplace was nice and warm and we happened to have just come from the bird sanctuary and were a bit chilled because of the rain. The décor was nice and fit the bar atmosphere well. Overall it was not worth the nearly $120 spent here. The pluses dont outweigh the minuses in this case and I dont think well be returning.
If the weathers good, come on out to the patio! Nice calm riverside space. All the fried pub favourites! Mussels were !
Very nice staff!
Cant speak on the food as we just popped in for a quick drink at closing to warm up after caching the tail end of the Carol ships. However, the service was great and the drinks were delicious! Cozy atmosphere and a wicked view of the water! Will be back to try out some food and soak in the view of the water.
Great seafood and the waitresses are young and sexy too!
Driven by many times, first time eating there. Very pleasant surprise. Food was delicious, service was friendly and very efficient. Decor is great, antique furniture, cosy and warm and great photos and collectibles adorn the walls. I will be back.
Love Sharkeys. Get seafood. Burgers are good too.
Fun Place to hang out. Sit on the deck great views and thunder wash the ducks
Just had the special there for lunch it was fantastic
This is my first time in this restaurant. Its great experience very good quality service and good tasty food very nice near water staff is very good
New experience,f
Nice view, food is just ok. It s not bad but for the price, there are more better options
Was disappointed as unfortunately the food was unseasoned and tasteless. Ordered fish and chips and a fried cod sandwich but the fish had no flavor. The sandwich had no sauce and the fries were cold. They brought salt and pepper shakers, etc. but one would expect the food to be served palatable.
Went to sharkey s restaurant last night, the outside area and the views we re great. I had salmon on Caesar salad, my wife had a salmon burger. The salmon was dried out, it was like shoe leather. Over cooked or possibly over frozen, will not venture into this restaurant again.
Food was very mediocre. The fish and chips had the refrigerator after taste. The burger was decent but the buns were not toasted. Overall, wouldnt come back
Lots of outdoor seating which is great on a warm summer day. Overall service is excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Nice selection of beer. I actually like their burger more than the fish. Good size portion. The clam chowder is pretty good but could be better with more clam meat. Compared to similar seafood restaurants at Steveston, I actually prefer this due to its quieter location, the more relaxed setting and large outdoor patio seating space.
Very comfortable dining here. Service was over the top. Very attentive. Calamari was very tender. No charge for more tzatziki. Coconut prawns were right on spot. Mussels were excellent. Wish I lived closer.
Very good
Was at Sharkeys in Sunday around 5 pm. Not too busy. I was loiking forward to thier Fish and Chips. Have been going since pre Covid. Always a great meal. The fish portions were always good. Thick pieces and big not over cooked. Unfortunately like so many restaurants I have returned to after Covid the strain on the business during their closed time and limited dinning is showing. I get it. They are trying to survive. Prices have gone up so much on everything. This time the fish was barely half the size of previous numerous visits and it was a bit overcooked. And of course the price had gone up too. Given my overall experience here this last time I have to wonder if it is worth the long drive for us to get there and be disappointed when another place we know closer has not changed their quality or portion size post Covid. I will think on it as it might just have been an off day for the place. I hope anyone else going back has a better experience.
Not bad foods are ok good location right by the river street parking are free.
Patio by the river willow trees swans and boats floating by. Beautiful place.
Way over priced for what you get. Lets face its a bar with food 9n the side.
Great food great view and good service.
Restaurant in Ladner food was alright price was decent beer was cold.
Burgers were super dry. The salad was sopping wet
Food was wonderful. Our waitress was so much fun! Thoroughly enjoyed having lunch there!!!
mean staff, undercooked fish, soggy fries
Last meal before flying home wanted to hit a patio with a great view and great food. This was perfect. Super attentive staff. Great food, cold beer.
Great location beside the Fraser River on Ladner Harbour Arm. Sharkeys has some very good fish n chips and calamari was good too. The lower patio was nice for a closer riverside view, on a warm day. The upper deck was full for Sunday lunch. Parking: Park free in their lot or free on the street.
I ve been here a couple of times and it has been good but I just went there and the service was terrible. We were seated and completely ignored from there. We sat at the table for at least 10 minutes obviously ready (didn t have menus in hand and looking at the staff to try and get someone s attention) to order while 6 staff were behind the bar or walking back and forth from the kitchen to the bar. They didn t even come by to ask if we wanted drinks. My fiancée had to get up and ask for someone to come and take our order but by that time, we had enough and we decided to leave. Needless to say I m happy we left before we made an order and had to pay for the bad experience.
Awesome food great patio by the water
We had the fish & chips and prawn and crab salad with and amazing wasabi based dressing. Both terrific. Service was great and a super atmosphere sitting out on the patio.
Location is wicked. Food is good. Staff are nice. Definitely worth checking out
Excellent fish and chips! Nice outdoor dining area by the river especially on a beautiful sunny day
Need some cleaning and kitchen maintenance From walking near by kitchen..... scary ..... what kind of food comes out ?? Food
Had a great Lunch today nice setting and the waitress Louise was the crown jewel of Waitresses just the service alone was enough to convince me to come back again
Nice place. Great service and the food was good and reasonably priced. I only gave 4 stars as they were out of a few items on the menu and unfortunately it was one if the things I went there for... Food
