Edo Japan - Belmont Market - Grill and Sushi in Langford

Ordered through skip the dishes and honestly it was sooooo good! Super fast wait time (25 mins delivered to our house) during peak time versus anyone else on the app was over an hour. Food was so good, super fresh. Got the kids sushi meal and such a good pick and great price. Also got beef sushi roll and volcano roll for us as well as a beef noddle bowl. Oh and spring rolls and tempura shrimp lol. We were hungry! Anyways all tasted great, hot if applicable, and fast! Highly recommend.

Update December 18th 2024- Washroom still listed as Temporarily out of order . Update September 9th 2024- Washroom still listed as Temporarily out of order . That s 6 month of no washroom or place to wash your hands. Foods good. Pretty clean. Great lunch spot on works days. I would like to give 4 stars. But the fact the washroom is temporarily out of order and has been for well over 3 months or more gets them 2 stars.

Sushi here made my wife and I sick. Tasted decent, but not worth it. Food : 1/5

Never went to a edo japan like this one, that they were skimpy with the rice of all things. Was a layer of what seemed like an inch of rice. Asked for a little scoop of rice and she rang me for for $3 or something insane. For rice lol

Went here for dinner and ordered a California roll, 2 dynamite rolls, 2 chicken ramen, one beef ramen, and one veggie ramen, the veggies were fresh and I would call the food okay not a ton of flavour and really nothing like ramen I have had in Japan for 3-6$ just bland. However if you want a North American bland ramen quickly that isn t the worst food you ever had feel free to eat here but if you are expecting authentic ramen this isn t it

Worst sushi i have ever had on the earth! The rice is not sushi rice, too hard to chew, wasabi is liquid and watering all the rolls, salmon nigiri is just print paper thin smoked salmon, could they be even worse? Garbage!

Horrible food along with rude staff. Save yourself the time and effort and go somewhere else.

Bring back the udon soup. The miso soup test isn t that good compared to the udon soup.

Tried to order online, but they were having issues,asked about the menu deals online, they said you can only get those deals if ordered online. Even after I said the online order thing was having issues and nothing online said online only they still wouldnt honor the online price when I went to the location to order.

The best Edo Japan on the island! Have dined here often and the food is always consistently fresh, hot, and extremely tasty. They have even done custom orders for me from time to time. The management & staff are super friendly, helpful, and efficient. They definitely go the extra mile to ensure you have a good experience. A nice atmosphere and they keep the place extra clean and tidy. Love eating here and always enjoy the smiles and greetings from the staff.

I like Edo teriyaki and their Bento box. Had a delicious lunch here and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Id recommend coming here and its a great experience.

Food was really good; had the chop chop bowls as my mom and her friend have dietary restrictions and they were delicious! Staff were extremely friendly and quick and I d highly recommend this location for quick and convenient food :)

The only good Edo left on Vancouver Island. This restaurant doesn t precook or overcook like the other locations, and still has the normal pricing. Portioning is also larger than the other locations, while still being extremely fresh. I used to be a regular of the Tillicum location, as I lived right beside it, but now I make the drive out here when I crave Edo. The franchisee is also super nice - he seems to remember my face from when I came in the first couple weeks this location opened. Staff are also super friendly and talkative.

The last 2 times at Belmont are cheap on the veggies and rice teriyaki beef meal. I did get 3 mushroom slices though. And I was the only one ordering food. Every other location is way way better. They raised the prices and lowered the quantity. Never an issue. Should have gone to Noodlebox.

Friendly service with no push for a tip at payment. Will return to try more of their menu.

Good food, especially for the price

Dont think Ive ever had a bad meal here. Consistent. Sometimes they add mushrooms when I dont ask for them but theyre chopped pretty big so I pick em out and still enjoy my meal.

This is the only EDO JAPAN I will go to now because all the other locations portions are not consistent. I used to work at EDO Tillicum for 5 years, and this location reminds me of Tillicum when I was there back in the day. Super clean and tidy for the customer, and COVID-19 precautions are followed. Good job.

Was my first time trying this food. I had the teriyaki chicken bento box and it was very good on flavour, good and worth price, and great costumer service. The place looks very clean and organized. I will definitely come back to try something else. Thank you!

If I could give NEGATIVE Stars I would! I was a regular customer of this restaurant for quite sometime. On June 23rd I ordered my regular meal of chicken & shrimp with extra chicken to go. Once I got home I noticed there wasnt any shrimp and there definitely wasnt any extra chicken. I called the restaurant immediately and notified them of the issue. The gentleman I talked with on the phone had broken English but took my name, phone number and the problem that occurred and said to mention the details the next time I was in. After returning from vacation, today I visited the restaurant and notified the women working at the counter of my previous issue. She went and told the cook ( unsure if he is the manager ) and he came to chat with me. I explained the situation and he said the person I spoke with only wrote down the missing shrimp. I explained that I told the person on the phone about both missing items, the missing shrimp and the missing extra chicken. He said he would not offer the extra chicken that was missed as it wasnt written down. I told him I was a regular customer and this is a joke. I then walked out the restaurant and told the staff as I was leaving they just lost a loyal customer for life. I will never return to this restaurant!

Five star service. These days thats really really hard to ask for, intact I feel like Im straight up disrespected by most people behind a desk or register lately. People are using the fact that you cant just fire people these days to take out there frustrations with life on innocent customers and its sadly now the norm, but I left that place smiling simply because they did their job well. We need more people and places like this. Thank you.

Have had great food that reminds me of previous Edo Japan locations: fresh and tasty. Staff is also excellent, though I have really only dealt with one staff member who seems to be the manager.

I ordered delivery through Skip, the driver delivered it to the wrong house. So I ordered pick up through skip. When I arrived at the restaurant the staff were very understanding what had happened and rushed my order. This was perfect customer service. Couldnt be happier with how the staff handled the situation which was in no way their fault.

Bento box is a really good option if you want to get a taste of everything.

Dont order the soup gross bitter veggies and nasty broth amongst other problems. Poor customer service skills over the phone when I tried resolving the problems. We will gladly order elsewhere, thanks.

Got the chicken Yakisoba. It was tasty, but only a couple pieces of broccoli and not very big portions. I guess not bad for $, but probably not going back.

I have been in food delivery and I can speak for people who order food. Edo Japan at Langford has been a busy place for customers and it speaks for itself on their food quality and taste. Their staff has been friendly and delivered food promptly on time.

A complete waste of money and barely edible. I tossed most of it out. On par with something Id expect at a gas station honestly. Ive had better from grocery stores.

Its been a while since Ive eaten at Edo Japan (last time was probably at Eaton Centre 10 years ago). This new location is modern and comfortable. Food was exactly what I expected and remember. Excellent teriyaki chicken, and their bento boxes look good too.

Would have given 5 stars if the service was faster. Its great that they cook everything fresh upon ordering, but the prep station seems to small to keep up with the demand.

Always hot and freshly cooked

Would have given 5 stars, however the 9 pm close time is not completely convenient in this location. We have ordered here many times. We have called a few times before close time and they have always been willing to put the order in for us on short notice. The employees here are extremely friendly and effectively efficient. We are always happy with not only the service but also the amazing food. Thank-You Edo Japan!!

I have been a couple of times to this new location. Its pretty good for what I ordered. I like their beef teriyaki. I will likely be going back .

If I could give zero stars I would.. we love the food here except the customer service is horrendous... every single time we ve been here it s always been an awful experience. The staff is very unfriendly and disorganized when it comes to putting the orders together. They are very rude if you have a question about the menu. One employee was texting while taking my order. The other time, an employee spent 21 minutes on her phone talking to who I assume was the manager about there being no bags left.. I didn t need a bag, but instead my food sat and got cold and soggy. The third time, we were over charged for our food, they wouldn t give us a refund but instead told us we needed to go get our bank statement to prove we had been charged twice even though it showed 2 receipts for the exact same amount. Today, I had ordered from my phone and when I told them I had ordered from mobile (not knowing they had an app) they gave me attitude and said your order didn t come through and I showed them it said confirmed and they said well it s not in our system and proceeded to walk away. Not even offering to help fix the problem or anything. I had to stand at the counter waiting for someone else to come up to talk to me, once they did, they told me SkipTheDishes pick up is different then mobile order (I didn t know) and proceeded to make fun of me for not knowing the difference. They said well why did she say mobile order if it was skip? And the other staff member laughed and said I don t know with a snarky smirk. Super unimpressed and I m sure this probably won t happen to many others, but I can definitely say I am not happy and will only get SkipTheDishes to deliver so I no longer have to deal with these under trained/ under qualified staff.

New restaurant in the westshore. This family owned place is still getting their footing but I really can t complain. The staff were friendly and responsive. The food was great and well priced. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl and a spring roll. My wife had sushi. Both were well made and the wait time was no more than 10 mins

Fresh food and very clean location.

This place (in my opinion) is the best location of the chain in greater Victoria. The workers are very nice, and by my recommendation (if it s your first time) I would order the teriyaki beef and rice kids meal (it s very filling), you can also get double beef with it, shrimp, veggies, and mushrooms, also you get to chose your kind of rice, I rate edo japan (in Langford) 5 out of 5 stars, for the cleanliness of the establishment, the customer service, the quickness of how fast my food was cooked, and most importantly the friendliness

Good food, bad service. I ve eaten here before and generally had an ok experience. This time I ordered dinner for my family and one item I paid for wasn t given to me and another I ordered wasn t included in my order (I didn t pay extra for that one item). Then I didn t get a bag to carry all of the items and when I asked for one, the guy behind the counter nonchalantly just grabbed a bag and gave it to me like he didn t care. I was going to complain about the missing items but I never even got a receipt and when I challenged him about the one missing item the guy couldnt find the proper receipt see what was supposed to be on the order. They weren t even remotely busy when I was there. This place just opened. If this keeps up they won t be there long. Time to find a new place to get my Asian food.

The guys at this place are lovely! I am a vegetarian and they were very understanding about my issues with cross contamination. They cleaned all the cooking utensils and were still very efficient with cooking me a great meal. I really appreciate the wonderful service and the food is pretty good too.

This our go to place now. Half price sushi Sundays are the best. My kid eats 24 pieces and is so happy. Well be back often.
