Since we opened our first location over 20 years ago, everything we’ve done has been driven by the philosophy of OPA! Make canada great again ordered 3 pita wraps with no meal,ninatead i got a 2 skewers and a bowl gyro meat which isnt even on menu to try and say i ordered a skewer dish. $38 and a salad calmari
On Nov 05/2023 we decided to get our dinner here. The place was packed and I would like to say that the 2 employees that were working that night did a fantastic job. You see that day the power was out in most areas of the western communities. So with only 2 staff members working and a packed store , with deliveries and walk ins as well they did a fantastic job keeping up with everything. Thank you both. Kurt and Donna.
This restaurant is a bit of hit or miss. This time the food was very good. I had calamari and Greek salad. The salad was very good this time. Not just cucumber and onions but tomatoes and green peppers. Very tasty. I took the order home to eat so no comment on the seating there
I’ve been to the other stores and was expecting the same quality in food and I am aware there are deviations from time to time but this place is horrible. Cutting corners on ingredients.
Normally I have a very flexible attitude when it comes to reviewing food. I regularly eat at OPA in the mall, however the Langford location was TERRIBLE! I ordered the meal size portion of calamari and appetizer size falafel. The calamari was likely the worst I have ever had. The entire plate was shrivelled up, freezer burnt pieces that were deep fried until they were pretty much inedible. I likely won't eat at this location again.
When I arrived to get my online order I opened the platter containers to check the quality before leaving and the chicken had absolutely no colour to it, it looked old and dry. None of the nice grill marks you expect to see. The potatoes didn’t looked cooked either, couldn’t even eat it, was hard and dry. I asked her to put the skewers back on the grill for me and she offered fresh ones off the grill. I didn’t say anything about the potatoes because she didn’t look impressed at all. The girl working wasn’t pleasant although she seemed to be working by herself so maybe that’s why. Once I got home I realized the Greek salad had little, if any dressing on it. It was a disappointing experience, nothing about the meal matched what I have grown to love about OPA, maybe we were just spoiled over the years at Mayfair mall but it didn’t compare.
Chicken pita wrap was ok first couple bites but soon my daughter and I agreed there was something off with the chicken. Way too much salt and seasoning and the texture was odd. So we only ate about half of our pitas before leaving. We both love Greek food and eat it often but will not return to this fast food place. The staff are very nice people.
THE SHORT: This was my first time going to an OPA! of Greece, and my first impression was that the food was quite good, even if a bit heavy on the cheap & greasy carbs to fill you up, and was relatively cheap compared to other fast food/fast causal chains after taking into consideration how filling it is. Its ambience is rather lacking though, but as long as the lobby is clean and available it’s not a huge problem. I’m here to eat. THE LONG: I ordered a gyro pita wrap combo (which comes with fries and tzatziki dip) which costed me $13.81 after tax. The wrap itself was rather unremarkable, though still satisfactorily tasty and filling, but the fries, THE FRIES. For an afterthought of a side dish, they were phenomenal. They were nice and thick (I can’t stand fries that are all salt and no potato) and perfectly golden yellow; crispy but soft and moist but not greasy. However, what really sets them apart was that they were seasoned to perfection with what I am pretty sure is just oregano, but that’s still a cut above every other “1 $ on Google” restaurant I know of, and that’s not even mentioning the Spartan quantities of them given to you. They’re to die for when paired with the tzatziki. Unfortunately, the lobby is where this restaurant falls short of 4 or maybe even 5 stars. In spite of being a basically brand new location, the decor and ambience consists of 00s era Subway-esque kitsch stock photos with a thin veneer of “Greekness” thrown over it. Photoshopped women, unrealistic produce, and the occasional photo of the Greek waterfront, all on stark blue & white walls illuminated dimly by nauseous pale-green LED lights (it’s probably not as bad with daylight, but I went at 9:30 PM). The only thing to distract you from what you see is what you hear; FM radio top 40s music blasts from the Olympus, disorienting you, beckoning for your attention, ALL your attention. I’ll take it to go next time, thank you. At least they offer you paper plates when you ask to dine in, and the lobby has many comfortable booth with outlets to avail yourself of. Oh, and the service was unremarkable. They just had one guy working at that time and he did the job, there wasn’t much to really take note of.
By far the best opa location Ive been to!! Staff : 10/10 very friendly staff Clean : 10/10 Speed of service 10/10 Highly recommended

Food is consistently bland and dry. Fillings in things like wraps are minimal and leaves much to be desired. Washrooms on multiple occasions have been nightmarish. Other Greek restaurants will deliver much better quality for your dollar.
Came here for the first time to this location, and was disappointed with the order. We ordered the gryo and it not only had hardly in, the portion of meat was even less.
Calamari was soggy and now sometimes It s gyro shavings or gyro skewers bring back the authentic rotisserie

Staff at this location are slow, incompetent and unpleasant. Completely disorganized, 2 cooks making 1 order at a time; lady at the till is useless and unprofessional. Half an hour wait to make 1 pita and a Calamari & dishonest about wait times
Food is pretty pricey for the amount you get. The taste it self was OK.
Ordered the souvlaki platter meal, ate it 5 mins after ordering and it was all cold, chicken skewer was tiny and dry, zero olives in my Greek salad (but many shown on menu photo of Greek salad?). Disappointed and won t be back. Food

Was ok, have had better food at other Opa locations though. The gyro in the pita was over cooked but the flavour was fine. The Opa fries were very good, fresh and hot. The restaurant was fairly empty at noon but most of the tables had left over crumbs and there was a scattering of paper on the floor. I don t want to assume it was left over from the weekend however I fail to believe that they had a mad rush before we arrived. It wasn t dirty per say, just made me wonder how well cleaned the rest of the place was. Service wasn t overly friendly. Mundane. Got the job done. It was just ok.
Mirroring other peoples experiences I went in to this location and ordered. Noted that all the staff were wearing gloves around but based upon the soiling, it appeared they were the Once-a-day gloves. Once the cooking began same gloves used for money ended up being the ones used to handle the food. The line had to be drawn when another employee with her blue nitrile gloves that she was using for sanitizer cleaning touched the opa fries. When confronted about it the employees admitted it was sanitizer on the gloves and seemed confused why I wanted a refund and no food. These young people really need some help with training in foodsafe. I dont think they intend to do a poor job but I also dont intend to get sick.
Im a big fan of OPA in general, but something is off at this location. The Greek salad tasted like old dish water, and the rice tasted really bad. Definitely something going wrong sanitation-wise in the kitchen. Will not be returning to this location.
Staff is great. The one owner knows me and my son by name everything we come in which is not often enough to remember us but he makes the effort. Great food, great staff

The food is always good but why are they charging $0.25 for paper bags now? I thought paper bags were a given for take out.
Have only ordered on Skip from here but just want to give praise to this place! I think the prices for the amount of food is great, and theyve been able to accommodate all my requests and substitutions which I really appreciate. I love the flavours and how fresh the food tastes. My only critique is that the fries Ive received the past couple of times have been soggy, even though the first time I ordered from here they were crispy! And the baklava is prepackaged and on the dry side with flavour more like apple pie than authentic baklava. Aside from that I love the flavour of the rice, the chicken is cooked and seasoned perfectly, the fresh pita is delicious, great tzatziki, fresh salad and crispy calamari! Also appreciate this is one of the few places that is open to delivery a little later!

Was excited to find Greek take out, but sadly was not that satisfied. The last time I have had Greek food was at The Greek Souvlaki House in Ottawa. Their food is so tasty with great flavours and huge portion sizes. I dont think you can compare restaurant food to takeout, however, when orderied a Mega platter, and it was just a normal size plate. We dont think it tasted that better, with the two small skewers of lamb and chicken. The food was not bad, but it was not special. Staff was friendly and it is a nice location. But if you have tasted good greek food with moderate portion sizes, I dont think OPA! will do.
Very fresh salads. Calimari and skewers and pita were all GREAT. Next time I am going g to the beach for a picnic dinner I will order from.OPA.

We ordered 2 opa platters to go. Got home only to find the food was cold. ! We live 6 mins from opa in Belmont so we expected the food to be hot. Called opa and talked to the man in charge who was actually the guy who cooked the food. He said to bring it back, but we declined as we were hungry and was too inconvenient to do that as it was rush hour. Is this under new ownership ? Microwaved the food to temperature.

Ordered a pita wrap meal today while at work for myself and coworkers. Not that it s a big deal but when I spell my name out and it still spelled wrong kind of erks and it s not complicated it s four letters. However the reason I gave such a low rate was while I was eating my pita wrap I got the nice surprise of choking on a skewer in the chicken I m guessing now this definitely isn t a pleasant experience and I think I will forgo returning to this location ever again.

First of all, I really love Opa foods at Belmont Market. Yesterday, I ordered this place but I m wondering does OPA allowing phones and earbuds during their work at food service stations? What kind of food safety are they following? This is very disappointing when you re visiting this place every time. Is it very important to talk during busy time? I hope, Opa management teams take care about this matter.
Used to be one of my go to quick places because the falafel wraps are so good! I wish they had things that were gluten free but they use a shared fryer!
The food and service are great, just their app doesnt work for my Visa Debit card, or for that matter, my Visa card.

Staff dont wear hair nets while preparing food and masks were being worn under the nose. I found that a bit alarming. Besides that, my order was prepared promptly and correctly. I would prefer to eat at a place where proper food safely measures are being followed.
Everything was super underbaked. Did not taste good at all. Won t be returning to this location I d love a refund for this.
I frequent this location often and when they first opened it was great. Unfortunately they have gone downhill fast you can tell if you look at other recent reviews. Todays order was absolutely horrible. I first thought I broke my tooth when I took a bite, but it turns out it was the gyro meat they served me which was clearly days old. I wont be returning after this. The picture speaks for itself.

Second great experience!! We are currently eating here and again maybe 6 weeks ago. Both times I had the gyro wrap, my wife had the chicken wrap. Both times we really enjoyed the meal. It was fast, tasted incredible and the staff were super friendly. Ill definitely be ba k for more of this!!

The food is always pretty good when I go here however my most recent visit wasnt the best. I asked and paid for extra feta cheese on my chicken pita wrap and received almost none. The employee was talking on his phone the entire time so perhaps he just forgot.
Might try it again, but Ill be avoiding the lamb. The Lamb I had was disgustingly tough. All the other ingredients and the pita were tasty. Fries were good, though seemed a tad old.
Without a doubt, the worst calamari that I have ever been served. Thin, greasy, tasteless bites of grossness. Frozen, prebreaded grocery store calamari would have been a huge improvement. My wifes lamb souvlaki was more gristle than it was meat, and really....an extra dollar for lamb? The only thing that was decent was the pita bread wedges, but for a total of $41.00 thats expensive pita bread. The plastic knives and forks were of the cheapest quality that we had ever seen, and the knife barely cut the gristly meat. They definitely need to invest in some decent cutlery and maybe some proper plates. We only noticed two other people come in to the Restaurant the entire time we were in there and that was for take-out, so now we know why this place was not busy, its awful. My wife said to me afterwards that the womens bathroom was disgusting. She said there was garbage on the floor, the toilet paper roll was sitting on top of the dispenser, and there were no paper towels anywhere to be had to dry her hands.
Worst Opa experience. The greeting was pleasant but after placing order we were treated like we were inconveniencing the staff. One staff was on a clearly personal call the entire time preparing order. Tables were not cleaned although the signs on the table said it was amid greasy finger prints all over table. Quality of food was okay but no olives in salad and when I ask about the olives was told by staff they didnt put on because some people dont like them. If you want a good experience at an Opa I recommend Mairfair or Hillside. Those locations never disappoint.

Worst Opa location I ve been to. I was greeted by a staff member sitting on the ground on their phone. Once I reached the counter, the staff member stood up and I noticed they were wearing socks and sandals, which is a food safe violation. Staff were not wearing hats or hairnets, as well as one employee had an AirPod in and was on the phone. Will not be back and will be contacting BC Food Safe.
This is a fast food Greek restaurant so no one should expect amazing food. That said, the food was very salty, the Greek salad was made with a lack of care (uneven sized veggies, only 1 slice of pepper in the whole salad) and with a lot of commercial dressing added. Sadlycthere is no other Greek restaurant in Langford, but evenso we will not be returning.

some people may like it for the greak flavor but i find it only to have one style of sauce. i have a salad with French fries and chicken its was dry if i have some vinegar with Feta cheese dressing that would work wonders

I love OPA, its one of my favorite restaurants. Delicious and the staff are very friendly. Im very happy they have moved into the Belmont Market. I visited the new location this week and the young gentleman taking orders and working the till was a rare treat. He took your name for your order, and once you got your order, he made sure to give you a personal thank you on your way out. At first, I thought he knew the guy ahead of me when he said thanks Al, have a great day, but then he did the same for the next two people and to me. Hes a keeper. Great job!

Ive been going to opa for years in victoria. First time at this location they dont have gyros? And you dont get a drink with the pita wrap and fries. They want an extra 3$ for a fountain pop. The wrap was beef and very skimpy on toppings. Fries were undercooked as well.
So i went to this location at Belmont Market for the first time a couple of weeks ago. the shrimp/prawns were over cooked and the beef on the platter was also over cooked and no flavor. I went a second time last week and got a skewer of the lamb and shrimp. this time the shrimp was cooked ok but the lamb was completely over cooked and had no taste. the lamb was very chewy eeewww. i will not be going back to this location ever. i will stick with the one at mayfair mall.

Had this last week..wasnt expecting much..and was pleasantly surprised! Food was fresh..and tasty! Had chicken souvlaki and my hub had lamb..both were really good..Greek salad was fresh and crisp..and pita bread was soft and flavourful. All in all a great fast Greek food experience worth the $ Cost less than a burger and fries meal..and is much better for you!
