Great food and friendly attentive service; the New York steak is amazing! I have to have it each time I go! Its always cooked perfectly! Mr. Mikes is my new favorite steak house!

I visited Mr. Mikes in Langford on October 18, 2024, to celebrate my birthday with my wife and five friends. Weve been here in the past and it was good - but this time, unfortunately, our dining experience was disappointing on every level. We wont be back. The initial reservation process was confusing, as the fellow answering the phone just said hello? (didn t identify the restaurant), making me think I had dialed the wrong number. It was a very strange vibe from the start. Despite it being a Friday night, the restaurant was surprisingly empty when we arrived. Our tables were not set, and we had to wait for cutlery and napkins until after our meals were served. Most of our orders were incorrect, including a lobster mac and cheese that had to be requested three times, (and when the correct dish finally arrived, the lobster was either missing or so sparse she couldnt see/taste any actual seafood in there.) My friend decided not to send it back again, as by the time they brought the third version, the rest of our group had nearly finished eating. My wife requested an alternative sauce to garlic butter for her steak due to her food sensitivity, but she was still served a steak soaked in garlic butter. She ended up trying to eat a couple bites and feeling unwell all night (she should have sent it back, but she saw how long the screw-up with our friends order was taking and didnt want to wait even longer for it to likely be screwed up again... the $40 steak went to waste, it was inedibly tough even aside from the garlic). In addition to this, her steak portion was extremely small for the price, accompanied by an unimpressive side of macaroni, a few Brussels sprouts, and half a carrot sliced up. Aside from bringing my friends messed up orders back, the server mostly avoided us until we were finished eating, even though it was not busy at all in her section. Additionally, the restroom facilities were problematic, with malfunctioning faucet sensors that made it difficult to wash hands properly, posing a potential health risk. (I hope the staff at least have a place to wash their hands...) Since the experience, I have reached out to Mr. Mikes via email and by phone, but I have yet to receive any response from management. Overall, this was not the standard of service or quality I expected, and I hope the restaurant takes these concerns seriously. We were shocked.

Arrived at the restaurant around 4pm and waited for a few minutes and no one was there so I called out 3 times Hello no body still poked my head into the bar area a customer said sit anywhere! Ordered drinks my husband ceased was overly spiced and my wine ended up with a fly in it! Dinner was ok except for add one price wow! We received bill and it was wrong we waited for our waitress finally we went to the front and told the hostess she apologized Reminded the waitress about the mistakes and the waitress fixed it But wouldn t go back Vegetarian options: Ok Parking: Accesiable

Great food, usually quite busy at this location so service can be understandably slow. Not for lack of skill from waitresses/waiters though. If you wanna catch the game, checkout the lounge, and for a family oriented experience, check out the dining area. Food

Very likeable place to eat for the whole family. Super efficient staff, kind and always considerate. One of our favourite places to go to. Food : 5/5

No spinach dip, no Rib eye, they forgot the broccoli and a bill of 300 hundred for 5 people. There is a good opportunity for the manager there to do a better job and actually supervise the waiters they are young and just not paying attention to their costumers.

The lobster dip appetizer was good. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. Kids quesadilla burnt, and what seem to be one tiny pice of cheese. Steak was full of tendons. We did like the board games they had to play. Definitely not worth the money!

Food was not hot and soggy.

I loved my experience at the restaurant, very nice friendly environment. My server was excellent, and to top it all off theora was very friendly and had a positive attitude. She accommodated our seating nicely and checked on us throughout the meal. Will defiantly come back again big hit thanks again Mikes!

Food was good, vegtables werent seasoned though and the steaks were mildly overcooked. Portions were on the small size but I felt full after. Cant say the same for my fellow diners.

Found this restaurant on a Google search for a steakhouse. This is not a steakhouse. It is more akin to a roadhouse, complete with kids running around like they were at a McDonalds.

The steak dip is incredible!!! Servers are really efficient and friendly! Went there with a group of 20 and the server was clearly overwhelmed but had 2 others there to help her. I asked a few times for something, got snapped at that it was going to be given soon. Understandable but also need to know how to wear your customer service mask at all times like I do. Shes still young though so just keep in mind to work on it. I was extremely polite when asking so no need for snapping at me or anyone.

The waitress we had was amazing and the food was to die for

We were seated at a dirty table in the bar, we asked the table be wiped and the gal that seated us came back with a dirty, soaking wet cloth and sloshed it around. The table was sticky and gross the whole time we had lunch. The fella serving us was really friendly and nice. He was taking care of EVERYONE in the bar side and the gal popped out once or twice and did nothing. Side note - the other side of the restaurant wasn t even open so not sure what she was doing? Cooking? The food wasn t just meh, it was terrible. The steak bites were soggy, pre froze processed bites. So bad. The mushroom caps were not good, the topping was cold and not even baked. Aesthetically, the booths in the bar are peeling and look terrible. You think for an establishment that serves $50 entrees it would be taken care of better.

Sadly this is our second visit in about 18 months or so. The first visit wasnt great and seems like they still have the same staffing problems this time. The waiting staff tried their best to keep on top of things but we still had long waits for food etc. The appies were great. the adult steaks were good too. The steak from childrens menu was tough and chewy. My fish and chips was disgusting. mushy, greasy, inedible. The waitress offered to talk to her manager but at this point I couldnt be bothered. My son who lives here and joined us for dinner, wont be returning. We will probably never be back. We spent nearly $300 for our meal and left feeling very unsatisfied. We should have made the jaunt down to The Keg.

Always good food and spicy sauces are actually spicy. I love the chipotle Mike sauce. I like the portion sizes and the staff are always happy and friendly. They may not have a salad bar anymore but they are definitely still great. If they delivered to a larger area I would buy from them all the time. Food

The table was sticky The service was slow and gave me chip instead of fries with my meal. The burger I ordered was low quality. The bin was soggy; the top from the pickle on top and the bottom soggy for unknown reason. The beer was ridiculously overpriced. Food : 1/5

I think the waitress was inattentive. Didnt come around much. Very abrupt. Didnt seem very friendly unless she forced it. Almost no time to answer with what you wanted. Walked away quickly. Werent allowed to sit on the patio even though it was empty, no explanation, managers decision. We still had a great time with the company we invited out. For those prices Id expect better.

This is no Mr. Mikes that we frequented back in the 1970s. That place was very special to us. The new(ish) Mr Mikes is trying to be more of a steak house. We used to love the salad bar, now gone. Watching them cook your meal, no longer. But, it may be a good step. Its not upscale, but its not cheapo either. I like the Mike burgers. Always have. I dont need the extra items, but I miss some of the old standbys. I recommend the place even if the service can be kind of slow sometimes. For the sheer number of people in the kitchen and on the floor, I was surprised that it could ever be slow. I know restaurant kitchens very well. This restaurant could use some efficiency training and less screwing around by both staffs. What do they know? Its mostly younger people with little training, or so it would seem.

Mr mikes a good burger. They are just over priced. This is the second email I have gotten from them pleading for a review.

Went to Mr mikes for a steak and Maliha was our server. The service was immaculate and food was great. Maliha was very sweet attentitive and knew exactly what she was doing. If you go here you need to ask for Maliha, she won t let you down !

Came in for a friday night beer and bite and was pleasantly surprised. I was buckling up for a mediocre experience due to my booth seat being ripped but the service I recieved almost made me forget about it; on par with the such one would expect at an establishment such as The Keg. 8.5/10 thanks Abbey!

Swapped out Stella Artois draft beer for more poor quality taps. That was the only beer worth drinking at Mr mikes. I am local, but will make a different choice for casual drink and food. It was nice to have one decent classic brew.

I came here for lunch and found the steak to be quite expensive at over $30 for a 7oz portion. Instead, I opted for the fried chicken, which turned out to be disappointing. However, the staff were very nice.

Five stars all around! I went there with family, loved the atmosphere (board games!!), we all had different meals and our family gets a kick of sampling each others food. Plenty of I should have ordered that, wanna trade? I was too happy with my meal to do that! The servers were super friendly! A special shout out to Leighvi - very personable , asking about my time on the island - I am from out of province - and next visit I will definitely be going back to Mr. Mikes! Highly recommend!!!

The server was not very attentive even though there were only 4 tables. The nachos that came with our appy were extremely stale. My steak was mediocre and about 40% fat, and the $40 meal only came with 2 prawns.

Ate here yesterday and the burger was one of the best I ve had in awhile. Our server Abbey was very friendly and tentative. Highly recommend.

I was in for lunch a few days ago with family from out of town. Two of us went for the fish and chips. The fish was the worst prepared fish meal I have ever had. Now I have experienced over battered fish before and this fish was overbattered which then held a lot of oil from not being drained properly. BUT! The killer was the fish pieces themselves! Both of us got dried out , undersized, overcooked , tough to chew , what could only be described as tasteless fish jerky. I do not recommend this menu item , terrible food experience.

Our server was Lexi, she is one of the managers at Mr.Mikes and is one of the sweetest, hardworking, and vibrant server I ve ever had. She always nails our order and goes over and beyond expectations to make every experience a great one worth a smile on her face. I love coming here and enjoying the food, drinks, atmosphere, and great service.

I went out to dinner with a bunch of my friends and it was amazing. My server Jenna gave amazing service and was extremely friendly. She was constantly making rounds to make sure everything was up to standards. All around great experience.

5 seated tables in the entire place with no other people waiting to be seated. We were seated on the patio with 2 of the 5 tables. After 20 minutes and no one had been to the table I went to the host and asked if someone was coming to see us which she went and spoke to someone right away. There was at least 3 servers working. We waited another almost 20 minutes and got up and left. What a complete joke that someone could sit there for 40 minutes even after asking for service and not get any. As someone who was in the industry for many years I could have worked that entire room plus the bar on my own so having 3 or 4 people working there is no excuse for that. Won t be back nor will my parents who used to go quite frequently. I also sent a Facebook message and email with no response.

Sorry restraunt came up on my phone to review it but unfortunately I didnt dine that day july 17 I think but I have dined there long time ago and had a good experience food and drink was good staff were friendly and prompt with delivery ty paul

Mr. Mike s has a vibrant atmosphere with some of the friendliest staff who go above and beyond! The food is so good but the kickass salad with cheesy toast is unreal. Will be back!

The server was nice but busy. The ribs were overcooked and tough. The fries were overcooked and could snap in your fingers. One of us liked our lobster dunk.

Honestly really disappointing. The evening started well with our spin dip, but the service was one of the worst service experiences. It took forever to order and even longer to get condiments and napkins (which is a simple request at most restaurants). We genuinely could have went to Costco, bought our own ranch and mayonnaise and come back in time. When the food did come one order was missing an item and another meal was the completely wrong menu item. The food was lacklustre, but would have been fine if it weren t for the tortoise like serving speed. Overall, okay restaurant but come with patience and lots of disposable time.

Table was wobbly and sticky. Asked for a new table, it was also sticky. Waitress said the enamel was ruined because of covid sterilization methods, but that was over two years ago! The food was great but the waitress got the drink menu wrong and didnt give us forks or napkins for our appetizer. She was new, admittedly, but this was definitely a failure to train staff properly. I dont know how a table could be unrepaired and at least two left sticky for an extended period of time, shows a lack of attention to the dining experience of the customer.

Super service for lunch

Total disappointment. Took over 50 minutes to receive our food while the restaurant was not very busy, tables were dirty and sticky, barely saw the waiter and on top of it the steak dinner we ate were not worth the almost $50 per plate, I ve had better steak in a frozen TV dinner. I went once to give them a chance, I will never return.

Its not welcoming at all. The atmosphere was uncomfortable and unfortunate.

We had a party of about 18 for a birthday celebration. The servers were very professional and the service was great. The food was awesome and there was a wonderful selection for all. A tremendous evening had by everyone...thankyou staff for making the evening special..

Dining room was less than half full. Waited for over an hour at the table. Other tables ahead of us still didnt have food. We were just too hungry so we left. If you cant serve people in under an hour, please give some indication of that before you seat them. Edit: you said that it was a 10 min wait to be seated. Which we were fine with. I started the hour clock after we were seated. You were seating more tables than you could handle.

Made a reservation this evening (Father s Day). Waited half hour from when we were seated, until I asked the hostess if anyone was going to take our order. I would have probably waited another 30 if I didn t say anything. When the waitress came, there was no apologies or anything for the extended wait. I do understand it was a busy night but that was a long time to get water. The food was fine, but the service was very disappointing. I won t be returning.

Had the takeout ,Doordash delivered to hospital.

We ordered to go, stated there is an onion allergy, and was told the alfredo has onions in it ( why?) So passed on that, ordered the Mike burger, as well as steak . Got home to find green onions ,which we said no garnish on anything several times, all over the mashe potatoes. I am highly disappointed and now have to take allergy medication (thankfully Not my epi pen and hospital) and have no dinner.

First timer and not impressed. Hubby and I went for dinner, the table was sticky and when the waitress came to take our order I tried to slide the menu to give to her and it wouldnt budge. Then she even said oh it s sticky hey? Gross. I got myself a Cesar, worst Cesar I ve ever had. Ever. In my life.. actually puke worthy. And then, the food. My husband and I both got the bbq bourbon burger. All I could taste was burnt bread. It was absolutely horrendous. I will never return to this establishment.

Well had the steak with gauchon style sides. A super small side of sorry looking vegetable s and fries sprinkled with a little parm.......steak was actually nice. For a place half full took a rather long time for food.

it was my wife`s and mine first time at this steakhouse ,the wait was around 15 mins, the servers were excellent they were very attentive and got our drinks quickly then we looked at the menu and everything was written with photos so you could see exactly what you were ordering . the food was very well laid out on the plate as was the desert also .we enjoyed the meal and made up our minds that we would be returning to this excellent steakhouse again soon .we have since been back here and the service was excellent ,this will be our number ONE eating venue .

Had a steak and was probably the worst I have ever had. Poor quality and cooked poorly. Not the place for steaks.

Food was very good, on the expensive side as expected, the portions looked small on the plate but I couldnt even finish my dinner. Id go back. We did pick the bar side on a Friday afternoon not really thinking about it so the workers who must work nearby were having their Friday after work drinks and were incredibly loud, understandably so. No ones fault, but next time I think well pick the other side for a quieter experience

this place is awsome. it have the most versatil menu it goes to steak to salade bugeur pasta entry all prices are good and affordable the quality is realy good and yes the portion are good too over all a realy goos restaurent !

I had Sirloin Steak with added Lobster Tail. The steak was good, nicely done in medium rare. The lobster is okay. It was not very moist and no butter to dip it to. The mashed potatoes were creamy, it was delicious! Only giving 4 out of 5 as one of us ordered the Kickass Salad. There was no salad dressing and the chicken was a bit dry. She had to ask for the dressing. I don t think it s worth the money ($21.99) for a salad. It was a table for 7 and were seated nicely in a quiet spot, hence 5 star for atmosphere. The service was 5 star, she was very nice. I generally enjoyed my food and everyone else too. I wouldn t mind going back and try another dish from the menu.

Ordered through skip the dishes and overall was not impressed with the fish and chips I had order. You could tell upon looking at it that the fish was over cooked. When opening the batter there was little to no fish and fish itself looked like it had been sitting in the batter for so long that it had become apart of it and it was extremely dry. Do not recommend this dish and will not be ordering from here again.

This time, the service was excellent, the server was attentive, and took the time to make small talk with our two children. Thank you Arun (GM) for making things right. --- I would first like to preface this review by noting that I have NEVER walked out of a restaurant before. I visited Mr. Mikes with my family (two children). I had a reservation for 6:15 pm and we arrived at 6:10 pm and were seated. The hostess provided two adult menus and two paper kids menus (colouring sheets). My son asked for crayons and they didnt have any, which is rather silly if you are going to provide colouring sheets to little patrons (the point of the colouring sheet was to occupy little hands while waiting). The table we sat at had a sticky film all over, like someone spilled a soft drink and it was improperly wiped up, and the bench seat also had a huge tear with exposed foam. We sat at our booth for almost 30 mins with no acknowledgement from any of the wait staff. No hello, no smile, no offer of water/beverage, and no hi, we are really swamped but will be with you shortly. Absolutely nothing, I felt like Casper the ghost. My Partner and I counted four servers on the floor and three hostess on duty. Long story short, we left hungry (with two kids), and extremely disappointed. If we were able to order food and actually eat it the score would possibly be higher but the probability of that happening in a reasonable time frame was slim to none.

Pretty much a worse version of original Joe s, which is a worse version of Red Robin. 7 oz sirloin steak must have not been any bigger than my damn wallet. $35 for a tiny piece of steak that didn t taste all that. Do not recommend

Horrible Experience - ordered fish and chips and side of onions rings + 14 ounce stake keto + bruschetta . The fish was over fried and hard and brittle. They tried to replace it and charged me extra for the fries saying since I ordered onion rings on the side I had to be charged for the fries. Why would I buy fries when I have fish n chips n the second time they got the fish it had hair in it. The bruschetta wasn t wow the tomatoes were chopped so horrible. Total waste of money for 2 people costed us $130 with 1 beer. Never ever gona go this horrible place. - they charged me fries while I ordered fish and chips ( which has fries) n just becoz I ordered onion rings on the side. N justifying it saying thats how their system works . no fix your retarded system. Stupid fish n chips costed me $30 damn.. n was horrible the cost of the stake was $51 n was the size of $15. Should be called mini stake.

The days we went the food was fine, but they were out of some sides, and we were charge extra for the substitution THEY offered. Dietary restrictions: They have a limited gluten free menu, but be warned: some of their GF options are cooked in the same oils as non-gluten free, and the risk of cross contamination is high

Food wasnt bad but its nothing to rave about. I had the steak and it was cooked rare probably but for a steak house I expect better. The service was okay and the waitress was friendly. The atmosphere on the patio is the equivalent to a prison yard made out of unfinished cement beside a highway with a view of a parking lot. I want to like this more as it was a childhood favourite but I dont think I will be back. Dietary restrictions: Keto friendly side options with the steak. Parking: Comical to watch large trucks trying to park in the small car parking spots from the patio.

Overpriced. Had the Lodgehouse beef dip. Meat tasted warmed over, old. Bun was burnt, Scarecely any meat or cheese . We waited almost an hour for our Lunch, and we were the 1st people in there, just me and my Daughter. Others cam in aftet us & received their orders way before we received ours. Music was loud & depressingly awful. The Bill was outrageous. Well stick with Bin 4 Burger.

The staff were arguing in the back with, I think, the cooks. It was awkward. Then they came back to our table with tiny portions plated messily - I assume because of the argument the staff were having. Our meal took close to an hour to get to us. One meal had to be returned because it was burnt. Either way this was terrible versus my experience at Mr. Mikes in Langley. Go to Langley! Massive difference in service, food portions, cleanliness and quality.

The food here is always good and we normally get the same thing but it always arrives different which in some cases is good as long as the steak is cooked perfectly... This time around the vegetables were not cooked at all and the fries on the plate usually you get a good amount but it was significantly less... It was not even consistent... Once there was souch blackening spice on my steak it was burnt and when I asked for another without it came back raw (rare) and the waitress had a very big attitude and charged us for refills and gave us ten percent off the meal... The appetizers are always on point but need more options for dessert for people who can not have chocolate... I feel sometimes I just want to eat what I get cause there is an issue and it never gets fixed properly... Like are the vegetables supposed to be soft and cooked or not...¿ Is the medium rare steak supposed to be burned...¿ Do you have to pay for refills...¿ It is not always like this... It is fifty fifty and not consistent... We always get add ons and appetizers so the meal is a good amount of money and we always tip generously so for the price we do pay I would like to be able to get what I pay for... Gladly... We are also repeat costumers who like to go often to notice these changes it is not like a treat out for us... We actually go for certain things because they are supposed to be good and I can not make the sauce on the vegetables at home or the hot lobster dunk... We crave them and love these things... Just please be more consistent... The lobster mac and cheese comes in different amount sizes each time but I pay the same amount and I ask for all these things the same way every time... I do not need an over amount of nachos for my dunk or sometimes it is not even enough... Do people not eat these things first then gauge out an amount or does everyone just guess or make these things with their eyes closed...¿ I love Mr Mikes... Just please be more consistent... Great Happiest Hour specials, especially the Panko Breaded Shrimp. So tasty! Staff is always helpful and happy.

Traffic was backed up so we decided to pop in for dinner and await the rush hour, we were glad we did. Food was hot and cooked perfectly. Drink specials and food specials were great. Our server Levigh (spelling?) was attentive and very nice. I would recommend this location.

September 13 2023 Worst food in Kanada. Mr mike in Hinton is a solid 7/10 but this restaurant in Langford serves the worst food i had for the last 10 years. We ordered 4 medium steaks and they were medium plus about 10 minutes extra. Bearly eatable . The sides were fried about twice the estimated time Overall an complete disaster. Not worth half the price

Mikes Steakhouse Casual has consistently delivered fantastic experiences during my multiple visits. Their steak is nothing short of wonderful, and the filet mignon stands out as the absolute best. Im also a big fan of their diverse burger selection. While we did encounter a bottle of red wine that didnt quite meet our expectations, it didnt dampen the overall positive experience. Their kids menu offers great options that my little one thoroughly enjoyed. The combination of a bar and restaurant provides a dynamic atmosphere. Its a pleasant spot with a vibe that sets the stage for creating wonderful memories. Mikes Steakhouse Casual has become a go-to for me, especially when Im craving top-notch steak or a delicious burger. Im already looking forward to my next visit!

Gotten better since last visit .. lunch came hot and got 3 coffee .. I like it quieter so after lunch or befor the dinner rush .. the servers arent rushing the food seems better ..makes it a treat to go there

Great venue - a little constructive criticism:- When we booked for a mid-afternoon group meeting we were told no problem - we ll put you at the back for privacy . One of our team members then arrived to a fairly negative reception (probably a different waitress?) indicating we were to keep our group meeting quiet as to not bother others?! (Altho there was one other table in the restaurant all afternoon) Mmmmm not the greatest reception now is it?

We had two 7oz sirloins medium, one came out like a hockey puck. However, they made up for it and brought out a perfectly done medium steak thereafter. Well done for the apologies made by staff!

Steak and Ribs were acceptable, gravy is a no meat gravy tasteless and cold , salad was good, service was okay but did t know there product. Asked for carbonated water was informed there was none, asked if they had bottle water she went to get a bottle and came back with a bottle of Perrier.

22$ salad, pathetic amount of chicken

We dropped in for dinner to be told the dining area was closed and we would have to sit in the lounge, we were celebrating our 26 wedding Anniversary, The lounge was very noisy with pounding music you couldnt hold a conversation with it and 3 drunken young ladies one drink short of being over served screeching and cackling at the bar, but they seem to be friends if the staff. The meal was good, but I will not be in a hurry to come back, especially if the dining area is closed.

I found the choice of meat limited for a steakhouse but they won me over with their desserts.

Overall quite disappointed with my meal. The $24 beef dip was quite small, seemed to be half the size of what it would be at any other establishment. Also the Caesar salad I paid $3 to upgrade from fries was a bit of sad looking romaine with croutons and dressing. Not the quantity or quality I d pay close to $30 for ever again.

Lobster dip is soooo good and I dont even like lobster. Great friendly service everytime Im there. Leighvi is the best bartender there ever was. If youre ever 8n the neighborhood go say hi! I Love Mr Mikes. Very cozy atmosphere and wonderful staff. Parking: 50 Kid-friendliness: The whole place is kid friendly and they have a kids menu.

***UPDATE*** So after my last review I hadnt been back since last night and wont be back again anytime soon. Worst rib eye in Victoria!!! I get its supposed to be marbled but this was about 60%fat 40%steak. Ribs bbq sauce was so heavily peppered that my gf and mother didnt eat much. Server spilled a beer on my gf and nothing was discounted not even the beer. My son asked for his steak well done, comes out still pink. I will definitely not be back, wasnt my choice but just glad they wont choose Mr Mikes again either. 2 out of the last 4 times have been horrible. When you pay 45 bucks for a steak you think it be a grade A cut of meat. Disappointed last night and wont be back after being a regular for awhile now.
