My best friend and I went there for birthday celebration Dec 12. The appy we had was jalapeño wrapped in a lite sweet dough. With a cucumber yogurt sauce. Oh my goodness it was spicy but so good! The dinner was amazing and service was top notch.. Definitely recommend checking this restaurant out. I know we will be back!
Delicious and authentic South Indian food. The Dosas are amazing - lots of vegan & gluten free options. The staff was super helpful & friendly. We can highly recommend & prices were vey reasonable too!
What can I say! Solid Indian cuisine at reasonable prices. The owners were there and so friendly and helpful. You can tell they care about their customers. The veg pakoda was such a great starter. Great service. Amazing food. We will certainly go back. This one will be on rotation.
When I talk about Indian food, with authentic flavour… This place has become my new standard. The Dosa is incredible and everything we’ve tried is top notch! Having travelled to India and also lived in Toronto (near Brampton… if you know you know.) this is the only Indian Place I’ve been to to scratch that itch! 10/10. Love this place!
Excellent South Indian food with caring preparation second to none. The flavors are exquisitely balanced and unique. Delicious curries with sources of vegetarian and non-vegetarian protein. Flaky paratha .. I can't wait to go back and try some of their specialties, their Dosas.
The service was very friendly, and fast but I am a little disappointed with the food. We ordered take out. The portion of rice that came with was small, I would have ordered extra. The butter chicken was not what I expected and lacked sweetness? Although served very hot. Anise? Sweetness? What is the missing flavor? I’m not sure! My kids liked it! They ate it up quickly but we were out of rice so will make more.
First time experience: afternoon lunch at this new restaurant. Ordered Bombay chat dosa, chicken soup, chili bhaji and masala dosa. All the food tasted great. Recommend for South Indian authentic flavors.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kurry King, an Indian restaurant that left me craving for more. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance that set the stage for a memorable culinary experience. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the dosa, a traditional South Indian delicacy that Kurry King has truly mastered. The dosas were nothing short of perfection - crispy on the outside, yet soft and flavorful on the inside. The menu offered a variety of dosa options, at different spice levels. Each bite was a burst of authentic Indian flavors that transported me to the streets of Chennai. To complement the exquisite food, the service at Kurry King was exceptional. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure that every guest had a delightful dining experience. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and accommodate any dietary preferences or restrictions. This is a great place to go with a large group of people. We were pleasantly surprised to see a bottle of Sumac Ridge wine for $28 on the menu, which is a great deal. Overall, my visit to Kurry King was a true gastronomic delight. The dosas were simply outstanding, and the entire dining experience was elevated by the attentive service and pleasant ambiance. If you're in search of an Indian restaurant that serves delicious dosas and authentic flavors, look no further than Kurry King. We can't wait to return and explore more of their tantalizing menu!
Very good food!
Glad we tried this place. We had dosas and they were extremely delicious and cooked to perfection. Service was great.
Best currys Ive had in a while my favorite spot to eat for indian well worth the money, friendly staff and good atmosphere if tv isnt to loud. Vegetarian options: Lots of them
Great food, friendly staff, and properly-labeled menu! Will definitely come back to this place again!
This is hands down the best authentic Indian food in Victoria. What lacks in ambiance is made up for in flavour. Not your typical Indian dishes so be adventurous! We have t had anything we didn t love. Our kids loved it too. Highly recommended the butter chicken Dosai. Vegetarian options: Lots of delicious vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: Loads of gluten free options.
Kurry King in Victoria serves incredible South Indian flavors! The dosas and biryani are authentic and full of spices. Friendly staff and great atmosphere, definitely worth a visit!
Kurry King brings true South Indian flavors to Victoria! The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully spiced. The staff is friendly, and the dosas are some of the best I ve had outside India!
Great atmosphere and amazing food!! Loved everything
Absolutely loved dining at Kurry King! Authentic South Indian spices, warm hospitality, and a cozy atmosphere. The masala dosa and sambar were spot-on. Definitely a must-try for Indian food lovers in Victoria!
For authentic, yummy Dosai wraps we highly recommend Kurry King! We had the butter chicken (fab tender chicken breast) and the spinach/paneer (perfectly spiced) Dosai and plan to return! The owner, Ramesh, not only answered all our questions about Dosai and how they are made, but he made our day by inviting us into his kitchen to watch! It was fun to see the equipment and skills to make the ultra thin crepe -- and the kitchen is totally spotless! Thanks so much Ramesh -- we will see you soon!
One of the best places to find pure South Indian food served with home style The chef doing amazing culinary skills to serve better Weekend special awesome Food : 5/5
Best Indian food in Victoria
Ready-made roties when they cook it becomes hard and chewy to eat. Frozen Paratha are cooked and served. Food
This is a great authentic South Indian food place. I would highly recommend to try Prawn Kottu Parrota!! Brought my mom and fiancée for dinner and they approved it too.
Food is very good, price is right, but the server ....a teenager with no training....it was difficult. Atmosphere? A bit odd...mens washroom was... weird.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Kurry King, Everything was well presented, spice levels were accurate and the flavours were excellent. We appreciated too that the chidrens meals came quickly
I loved The Food here so very much & The quantity was sufficient. Id Say If you are lookin for a Nice South Indian Cuisine, You have come to the Right Spot. Food that makes me feel Home :)
Hands down the best South Indian food in Victoria, me and my partner went there last week for breakfast and left so happy with taste of food and the quality. The food served to us was so fresh. The owner is also very welcoming and lovely. Definitely going back again :)
Good place for idly sambar (I had two plates). Good chai
We ve been ordering takeout from here regularly since it opened. The food is consistently really good, very authentic, super flavourful, good portions, very vegan friendly, and great customer service. By far the best Indian restaurant on the Westshore.
The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection,Hands down, some of the best food I have had recently! They use the freshest ingredients and make sure each dish is done the right way. The [Schezwan fried rice,Beef pepper masala, Fish Curry] was especially memorable, this restaurant exceeded all our expectations! Our family especially enjoyed the appetizers [Chicken 65,Cauliflower pakoda]The menu offers a wide variety of options, and everything we tried was delicious.I especially loved the creative twists on classic dishes.Whether you re dining indoors or out on the patio, the ambiance of this restaurant is always delightful. The ambiance adds value to the overall dining experience. [KURRY KING] is a true hidden gem. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Our server was gracious and accommodating, ensuring every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. This restaurant exceeded all my expectations. You do not often find a place where every element comes together so perfectly. I ll be recommending it to all my friends and family.
Everything was delicious. Yummy
Delicious food, different from the rest of Indian food places in town! Friendly and fast.
Great food. Very good service; Ramesh the owner was very friendly and accommodating to provide us the items we wanted. Fresh and authentic taste! Recommend if you are looking for South Indian food!
Food was really good but slow took forever to get the food
We enjoyed the food. Very nice
We ordered take-out and the food had lovely flavours. It made a nice change to other Indian restaurants weve been to. Both the mutton masala and veggie kuruma were delicious. We will definitely order from them again.
Soo tasty!! The butter chicken was amazing!!
True authentic South Indian cuisine. We are so glad that we found a restaurant that serves such flavourful food that brings back fond memories of Chennai. Highly recommend and the owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming.
The South Indian food is just okay (cannot understand the 4.7 stars). Also, they don t tell you that extra sambar would cost you 5$ and chutney 2. This is free in almost all the South Indian restaurants. We couldn t eat the egg fried rice and just ate one spoon. When we told them they did not offer to refund or replace it. We were charged the entire 14$ for it. I wouldn t come here again.
I recently visited Kurry King and was blown away by their delicious noodle dish with crispy fried chicken! The noodles were cooked to perfection, and the fried chicken added a wonderful crunch and flavor. The portion was generous, and the prices were reasonable. The service was also top-notch. Highly recommend this spot for noodle lovers and other dishes!
Kurry King offers amazing food with friendly service. The dishes are flavorful and well-prepared, highlighting a variety of authentic flavors. Staff members are attentive and create a welcoming atmosphere, enhancing the dining experience. Its a recommended spot for those seeking delicious Indian cuisine served with a smile.
Thank you for catering us delicious food with best quality and quantity. Everyone who came to our conference was very much happy about the food we served. It defenitely elevated the good atmosphere and experience of our event.
The customer service and food is amazing. Highly recommended.
My first time here and wow, it was so, SO GOOD. I had the KK tiffin combo. Everything was very fresh tasting, dosa was cooked perfectly, red chutney was spicy hot, sambar had lots of flavor and veggies! All of it fresh and delicious. Definately, a great south indian restaurant and certainly one of my favorites!
The food was amazing! Dietary restrictions: The chef made sure we had gluten and dairy free food without compromising the flavour of the butter chicken dosai and spinach chicken dosai Food : 5/5 |
Idly was very fresh and delicious !
Some of the best Indian food Ive ever had. Ive been there multiple times and its always really good.
Absolutely delicious. We were in town for a market and craving Indian food - so glad this was close by!!
Will be a repeat customer. Amazing food and service.
Drove past this place a couple of times on our way to Costco. Today we decided to give it a try for lunch, and lm so glad we did! We started with the veg. Pakoras ( excellent) and the chili Bajis. The bajis were the best lve ever eaten (including my own) crispy on the outside and soft and spicy inside. Next, we shared a chicken and spinach Dosa . . . Amazingly tasty. Then we split a paneer curry . . . Beautiful! This is South Indian cooking done really well. Its just a little bit different from the other places and well worth stopping in. The prices especially make it worth a try. Highly recommend Parking: Parking behind the building
Amazing place and food! The owner was so friendly and helpful recommending menu items and the food was to die for. Very big portions for the price and we couldnt finish everything so had a full lunch for next day. One of top Indian places in town and especially for those wanting to try some newer south Indian dishes.
Kizhi porotta was so good. All the dishes we had were so tasty.
Kurry King truly reigns supreme in the realm of culinary delights! From the moment you step inside, the inviting ambiance envelops you, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The Vazhai ilai Parota, a delicacy that originates from the southern regions of India, is expertly crafted at Kurry King to perfection. Whether youre a lover of Indian cuisine or a newcomer eager to explore its delights, Kurry Kings Ilai Parota is a must-try dish that promises to leave a lasting impression.
Good food. Would like it if they had Naan.

Wonderful service and atmosphere. Food was delicious.
Awesome food and service, friendly a.d welcoming staff.
Dosa is very good.
Very delicious food and the service was great. Would recommend trying this restaurant.
Worst food ever Food quality was super low..!! Price was too high but quality was too low
First time trying this restaurant. A very delightful hostess and the food was really good. Weve tried every Indian restaurant in the area and this is our favourite.
Excellent dosa lots of variety
During our visit to Victoria, we came to this restaurant after the horrible experience in a hotel at Sidney. We were treated very well with fast service and the taste was amazing and all the foods were delicious. My kids had tasty food after a very long time in a hotel. The price is very reasonable too. Parking: It was difficult to find the parking; however, the parking is a minute walk from hotel.
The food was amazing we came here twice 1 day after the another. Parking: It was a bit hard to find the parking but the wait was worth the food Food : 5/5 |
First time trying this restaurant and we will definitely be back! It was SO good. The dosa and the kothu parotta were the stand out dishes but everything was delicious. The woman who helped me was also so lovely and friendly.
Very nice people and yummy food. The place was also very clean and cozy
Excellent
One of the best and authentic Indian food I have tasted in Canada for last one year I have been here. Vibe is good and service is great. We tried veg manchau soup, palak paneer, dosas and chicken starters. Me and wife liked all the stuff we ordered. I would highly recommend this place if you ever visit Victoria.
I had dinner here for the second time recently, and it was delicious! We were a group of six people, and all had an enjoyable meal. They were out of a couple of things we wanted, but thats not unusual for a small business and they had good alternative suggestions for us. A couple members of our party had some dietary restrictions & allergies, and the server and chef were very understanding and accommodating. Overall, I would be happy to return again!
Bombay chaat dosai is amazing! Good size portions in the dosai. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegan options, many vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: Many vegan options. Parking: Parking behind restaurant Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant on ground level, parking close by with ramp over curb.
Amazing food, really great service! A must try for anyone vegan. Vegetarian options: So many vegan options! Dietary restrictions: Very vegan and gluten-free friendly.
Parking: Easy Recommended dishes
Extremely friendly; AMAZING food! New fav!
Five of us enjoyed this. Prices are reasonable. Food was good. We will be back. And it just replaced Turmeric as where we will order Skip. Kid menu too
Great food, ask for extra hot if you want hot. Madras goat curry and parotta were great.
Great food and great host
We come here more than once every month. Amazing staff & really great food. They are quite consistent with the taste and it makes them unique. I would recommend this restaurant if you are craving some authentic South Indian cuisine. I especially love the medu vada & masala dosa. Also their Indo-Chinese recipes are so yum!!! My personal favourite is schezwan noodles.
Tried chicken biriyani and chicken manjurian with porotta..Biriyani was tasty with good spice level.Machurian was bit more sweet.
The food served is so authentic and tasty at Kurry King!! Takes me to a trip to India whenever we ve eaten there! Keep up the great service always!!!
Super delicious Indian food and good with portion wise ,if someone is looking for authentic South Indian,Mindy go visit them . Amazing food , would love to go there over and over
Very friendly person on the phone, picked up 30 minutes after ordering. Food was delicious! We will be back!
Average food taste..with dark ambience
Amazing South Indian food. Had mutton soup with idli, dosa, parota, roti, wasn t too keen on the sambar n chutney, chicken pakora, fish fry, mutton biryani. Jigiridhanda was nice.
Excellent place with excellent customer service!! This was our first visit to this restaurant and as we have very few good south Indian restaurants in Victoria we wanted to try this and I would say definitely worth it. Love the food love the customer service and the food timings were on point to I would definitely recommend people to visit it and I am sure after that you will be a regular!!
Food is good.. service is good.A must try Filter coffee after the meal..
Ordered mutton biryani and mutton pepper masala and I was highly disappointed. Not sure if they even know what biryani means? Also, the pepper masala was with just bones and hardly and meat. Even biryani was with more bones than actual meat. Very disappointed
Please give a decent quality of Sambhar when sending food through online orders. Half spoon sambhar was sent with 3 huge vadas to us. Extremely poor quantity!
Hands down my favourite South Indian restaurant in Victoria. I ve tried so many different dishes here and was never disappointed!
We love this restaurant! We first saw the Kurry King sign and decided to try the restaurant on a whim about a month ago; we have been back twice since then. The food is amazing and the menu caters to many dietary needs with most dishes listed with vegan, gluten free and dairy free options. When dietary needs were mentioned to the amazing staff, they had fabulous recommendations and went above and beyond to ensure those needs were met. They even remembered us and our dietary needs upon the next visit. So many wonderful flavours, welcoming smiles and a great family environment.. would recommend to anyone who enjoys delicious Indian cuisine. Vegetarian options: So many delicious options to enjoy. Dietary restrictions: Tonnes of dairy free, vegan and gluten free options
Fantastic food and great service. My parents are South Indian and I came here with them - they both loved it. Very authentic south indian flavours. Dosas are great and would return again! Vegetarian options: Many Vegetarian Options.
Great place, lovely staff, and the food is DELICIOUS!
Finally, a great South Indian restaurant in Victorias Westshore! Many very tasty styles of Dosa and other delicacies. Very good service! We will definitely be back.
Amazing Indian food, easily the best in Langford
I recently went there for the food and it was awesome, delicious. Price is also less compared to other Indian restaurants, quantity of the gravy is more. So i would suggest ordering rice along with gravy. Ramesh (experienced chef, owner) is kind and he is open to customize the dish as per the requirements of the customer, if you need spicy or mild let him know. I will recommend this place. I wish them a great success and long running.
Amazing, delicious food! So happy these guys are open again after their move from Sooke!
Delecious authentic south indian food. Definitely recommended Tried madras chicken curry, flavoured butter chicken dosa and chicken biryani with the best blend of spices . Everything was amazing
Food on time, Authentic southern flavour , Great customer service with friendliness, polite and humble interaction , I have ordered Bombay chat masala , planner butter masala doosai the quality of food is excellent , I can strongly suggest the kurry king to all Kid-friendliness: It s great place where they are making non - spicy for kids
Very delicious food. Loved the Pakora, Chai, butter chicken. Well everything was fantastic.
Incredible food made and served by awesome people. Some amazing Indian dishes I had never tried or even seen on a menu elsewhere. The Dosa is a thing of beauty! Very accomodating of our Sons allergies.
Very tasty South Indian cuisine.
Food was delicious with Authentic South Indian flavour .I would recommend the Madras Chicken Curry , Medu Vada ,and Chicken Manchurian.
Superb food. If you are looking for authentic South Indian and especially the Flavours of Chennai, Tamilnadu...Kurry King is the destination. Our Talented Chef Ramesh and his delicacies are amazing...!
I took my mother to Kurry King for her birthday. The food was terrific. The curry was very tasty and not so heavy with excessive spices and salt as most restaurant seem to make it. And the atmosphere? Super friendly a very special family touch.
Good authentic south indian food at a reasonable price. Vada sambar is top-notch. Tried Indo chinese style noodles, fried rice and both were so delicious. Overall food tastes the same as home.
Excellent food and lovely staff! I ate here for a few nights while on a victory trip in February.Every item that I ordered from the menu arrived quickly and was delicious. The curry was actually a delightful surprise! it an easy choice at the end of a long day. I will definitely be dining here again! Panner pizza Dosa if they still have it on the menu, I m sure finally finishing with jegarthanda dessert ultimate
Very tasty dosa and vegetarian curries, very nice ambience and great friendly customer service. Parking: Parking is available at rear
Beautiful restaurant, very courteous staff who are very friendly and welcoming. Food is top notch, highly recommend!
I was very sad when my favourite Indian restaurant, the previous occupants of the location, closed their doors for good. But Kurry King moved in almost immediately, and my friend who lives nearby and works literally next door, said there had been some AMAZING smells coming from the new restaurant. So we gave it a try! They have the standard Indian fare, and it is ALL good! And a section of the menu is IndoChinese fusion, only available on Fridays and Saturdays. Be mindful that some dishes are bone-in -- but that wasnt a problem for us. We had Madurai Chicken Kari Egg Dosai, Onion Rava Masala Dosai, KK Chicken Madras Curry, and a Mutton (Goat!) Vindaloo Curry, and shared everything between us so wed both get a good sampling of what was on offer. It was DIVINE! And the spiciness levels are on the lower-end, so if you like it hot, order it extra hot, or even extra-extra hot! The good thing about this is, youre not going to have a bad experience trying something new, because it will NOT blow you away. My friend and I were both very impressed, and weve found a NEW favourite Indian restaurant! WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!
Excellent curries and a unique menu. This is our new favorite curry place. Food
This place is amazing. Fabulous curry, Indo and absolutely killer dosai. Langford is blowing up with great food options right now... and Kurry King is top of the list.
We ordered some South Indian food from Kurry King because I read some good reviews but we were disappointed. - Veg uttappam was okay - mysore masala dosa wasn t good. It was very thick and it lacked flavours. - the quantity is really not value for money. ( In fact I found it expensive for the portion) - sambar was okay - chutneys were flavourful but quantity wasn t enough. This was our first time ordering from here and probably the last too.
Wonderful food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff
Very authentic, the perfect level of spice and good selection of Indian-Indonesian dishes I wasn t able to find anywhere in Victoria.
Great service and excellent food!
One of the best South Indian food I have had in Victoria. Their kothu parotta is as close to what I had I Chennai. Fish curry and fish fry was amazing too. Madras chicken curry was also amazing. Kudos to the chef and the server too she was very kind and very helpful. Must try and will be back again.
The food was amazing. We were a group of 5 and ordered, idly and vada which is such a refreshing meal when it is soft and fresh. Would definitely recommend it as a must try. We also ordered Beef Kothu Parotta, Mutton Kothu Parotta, Chicken Manchurian, madras fish curry and chicken curry. Something I really loved is the authenticity of the meal, especially when South Indian food option are very less. I would recommend Kurry King as a must try for some wholesome South Indian food. Ps: the only photo we managed to take is the mutton Kothu parotta
The only best authentic South Indian food in victoria. Their dosa varieties are awesome and must try! The pizza veg dosa is die for . Highly recommended.
Great variety of dosas and curries...
I ve known Kurry King for a few years now since they first opened in Sooke. I love their food and the family even more! Everything is delicious and freshly made and all your cravings are satisfied. Whether you want a simple meal or a grand celebration, Kurry King is the place to go to!
The wonderful smells drew us in! So I and a friend tried Kurry King for the first time Sat. March 25, 2023, for a late lunch that turned into also an early dinner. We were immensely impressed, tasty layers and layers of flavours and textures. Food was amazing! We both have eaten at a lot of Indian restuarants but we had never seen dosai offered, so we tried 2 dosai: Rava Masala - crispy (rava) wrapped style, Madurai Chicken Kari Egg - pizza style (open face) Both were amazing, we gobbled them up. Then we had: KK Madras Chicken Curry and Mutton (Goat) Vindaloo. Both were large plates of meat with *lots* of fragrant thick gravy, and a side of white rice. Very different layer of flavours, and both absolutely delicious. We already are plannning a return, to try more dosai, and curries and at least 1 of the unique fusion Indo-Chinese dishes. One of the owners personally served us, very helpful. Definitely recommend Kurry King. FYI lots of GF and DF options. And it is in the Reflections building, street level, and new parking lot entrance is off Winster just at the Hoffman corner. We should have taken pictures - but we were too busy eating!! Dietary restrictions: Lots of dishes on the menu are noted as gluten and/or dairy free.
This is a review based on multiple orders from Kurry King and varied experiences for various food items. 1. Bombay chat dosa: First time we had this, it was simply amazing. It was a perfect blend of dosa and vada pav! Second time I ordered it, it was too salty.. couldnt eat it. I would have given it 5/5 but its 2/5 due to the salt. 2. Paneer butter masala: its really good and authentic. One of the best I have had so far. Its a 6/5. 3. Paneer Manchurian: Really tasty and authentic but the quantity is little less but taste makes up for it! Its a 5/5. 4. Chapathi: very disappointed with this. This looks like either it was some frozen roti heated up or a very very oily poori.. again couldnt eat it .. and also whatever little we had, it caused stomach upset! 0/5. 5. Parotta : this was ok. Not the best I have had but given you dont get this else where in Victoria, it seems good. Though authentic parotta will be very flaky and soft! 3/5.
Recommended Recommended Recommended PERIOD
Food was excellent, and priced well for portion size. All curries come with rice, and one Dosa order served 3 of us with extra. Service was friendly but a bit slow only because it was very busy and there are only the chef/owner and hostess/waitress working. For us the service was perfect as we had more time to talk and visit. Also showed the food was cooked to order. Will definitely be back to try more of the dishes.
Congratulations to Ramesh & Nandhini for your new venture. Amazing South Indian Restaurant. Thank you so much for making special menu for our family. We all really enjoyed your treat. Tasteful Combinations. Thank you Ramesh & Nandhini
Best pakoras EVER!! Everything we ordered was delicious. Beautiful new location and excellent service! Great prices, too
Food was amazing
Amazing authentic Indian food! Everything was spiced to perfection and cooked perfectly. Very accommodating for vegans :) Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian and vegan options Dietary restrictions: I had concerns about cross contamination and the chef very kindly came out to speak with us and made accommodations. Very professional and patient with us :) thank you!
South Indian food is excellent
Authentic South Indian food. The best Tamilnadu flavor in island. Everything is very yummy. Must try. Also very good ambience. Once you taste the flavor here, definitely you will visit often. I do.
Had an amazing meal. Ordered too much but it was so good we had to eat it all. We shared the Cauliflower Pakoda and Sambar Idly and then had a Masala Dosai and the Rava Masala Dosai. All of our dishes were spot on. Possibly the fluffiest and lightest Idly Ive ever eaten. Chef Ramesh was super friendly and helpful. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan options
Great menu! Especially for Celiacs. Has a plethora of gluten free and dairy free options. The owners Nandini and Ramesh are so warm and welcoming. Good service. Must visit!
The food is fantastic and thoughtfully prepared. It s wonderful to have all the options on their diverse menu in our neighbourhood.
I was very pleasantly surprised, the food here was excellent - they have a wide variety of both North and South Indian dishes - I went with the masala this time but will be going back for the dosai, which is their specialty. Anchal my server was lovely, very friendly and engaging, and patiently explained some of the dishes I was unfamiliar with. I will be back for sure!
Just tried Kurry King for the first time today, and I am sure glad I did! I walked in to place an order for pick up, and had a great feeling about it as soon as I did. The owner was exceptionally friendly, and took my order promptly. The food was ready quickly, and he even took the time to explain to not eat the chili pepper!! The Madras Chicken and Aloo Gobi were absolutely delicious. I want to go back and try everything they make! Please do yourselves a favour and eat here. You wont regret it.
We tried all special biryanis , Food is of good quality and tasty. Server and chef are so friendly and helpful. 100% recommended
Excellent food and very friendly staff. authentic South Indian food made by Ramesh. We will definitely visit this place often when we get a chance.
Food brought back me,pries of my childhood. I grew up in South India and there are many good Indian restaurants that I have been to. I ordered cauliflower Manchurian because my dad would take me to a restaurant a few blocks away as a treat and we would get this there and sit on the sidewalk and eat it there. And this is the first time since leaving India that I was instantly reminiscing. The Masala dosa was amazing, and Sambar again took me back to Saturday mornings when that was a treat. I can t wait to go back and try more.
Great Indian food - and true to its name - lots of Kurry and spice combinations:). Kurryking had many vegan options including a Vegetable Biryani and Eggplant peanut curry, chilli bhajji, Cauliflower bhajji, soup, set dosa, noodles and more. Vegetarian options: Vegan options (staff that understood and suggested vegan options) Parking: We found ample parking in the back on a Friday evening Kid-friendliness: Kids menu and options in the main menu that are kid friendly
Amazing food!
I had one of my best South Indian meals after coming to Victoria at KurryKing! The variety of dosa they offer is amazing. Since I was with a group I got to taste a lot of different dishes starting from dosas to the rice. I personally loved everything but dosa was what stood out the most for me followed by the Kothu Parotta. If your someone looking for a nice meal with family or friends and like eating Indian food please do give this your love and you won t regret. Their service is also great! Their specialty is definitely their dosa and idly!!!!
Amazing Indian restaurant! Our new favourite place!
Great food and service from Ramesh and his team. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options and some unique egg dishes like Egg Kalaki. Highly recommend their chilli paneer/paneer Manchurian for appetizer and vegetarian Biryani.
We tried, mini Tiffin combo containing dosa, idli, sambar, chutney and vada, and a schezwan chicken egg fried rice and mutton pepper masala. Felt the same taste like having it in Tamilnadu. Great job. Thank you. Parking: Parking is at the back Kid-friendliness: Our kid enjoyed the environment and food
Worst food I had in a while. I mean, no disrespect to the restaurant, but honestly, the sambar was just water. Masala Chai was just served out of the microwave. The chef was just blatant about everything and didnt even care. On an order of $265, they care to charge $4 for half water filled sambar, which would be fine only if fufilled the definition of sambar. Just a recommendation for the chef, try authentic food at Sarvana Bhavan, Chettinad Dosa, Krishna Dosa.. you will see the difference. It was not the price I was mad about. It was the quality of Rice and spices, in addition his words I can not make food equal for everyone
My family and I came here for lunch for the first time after they opened about 3 months ago. I appreciated the service as it was excellent as well as the ambience of the place. I was very impressed with the chicken madhurai and chicken saag dosas and beef chettinad! It is a husband and wife team who provided amazing south Indian food! They were so kind and friendly! We will definitely return and highly recommend for others to try! Parking: Right behind the restaurant, plenty of space
Amazing food and customer service. Highly recommended!
Fantastic dosas!
Dosai were very tasty and made with healthy ingredients:) Will definitely come back with my family and friends! Oh I forgot to mention the delicious curry and butter chicken!
Good food :) . I have ordering from this place for about 2 months now and the quality is consistent
It was awesome.Must go place . They hv multiple options which make them unique.
Amazing dosa love coming here with family.
Great South Indian food - was traveling from South Indian and was pleasantly surprised to find amazing food here!
Must say this is by far the closest Indian( south) food available in Victoria and in Langford. Affordable and good quantities. Chilli ( Mirchi) bajji is the best and next is the Veg Pizza dosa.. the fusion of dosa with Pizza style is amazing. Definitely will visit again!!
The shrimp vindaloo was spectacular
Recommended me a dosa, butter masala and it was actually the best thing I ve eaten for some time. Dosa was crispy, perfectly seasoned and the best part for me was the temperature was super hot. Very accommodating of us since we came a bit late and sat us anyways. Dietary restrictions: I have a sensitive tummy to spicy things and they made sure I was full when I left 10/10
Wonderful people and wonderful food!!! She really took the time to explain everything to us and recommended us food with honesty which was very much appreciated :) mega good food, very flavourful and delicious. Love you Kurry King everyone go if you have the chance!!! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options :)
Great new option in the West for South Indian cuisine! Tasty food, lots of different dosas to try, friendly and family-oriented service!
Ordered takeout a couple days ago and it was amazing! We were late to pick up by about 10-15 minutes, but the food was still hot and fresh. 2 curries, an order of chicken pakora, and a side of roti (2 pieces) were enough to fill up the both of us, and there was still some left. Wish it came with more rice, but we had some leftover so it was all good. Overall, delicious food and the service over the phone was very efficient and polite :) Definitely gonna try out more of the menu! Vegetarian options: Wide variety of vegetarian dishes Dietary restrictions: Lots of Gluten and Dairy free options
Very good, authentic food, kind and attentive staff and a wonderful atmosphere. Definitely a favourite!
We ordered roti and they just gave us warm rotis from the Walmart it s a shame for restaurant that they are serving readymade food from Walmart. Not recommended
A family run restaurant, charming and high quality. Authentic Southern Indian food. Large selection of Dosas, (savoury crepes) and over 30 different curry dishes all freshly prepared and served in a friendly way. Fine butter chicken, tasty goat curry and a great chicken soup. Highly recommended. Parking: Behind building and in mini plaza across Hoffman avenue.
Had a wonderful South Indian family lunch time with 4 feet dosa! Sambar & rest of the food was the tastiest you can have on the island. Tiffany and Nandini served us well! Thank you so much. You made our vacation special.
They are very accommodating with all my special dietary requests, and the food is always perfect and delicious. Really kind and attentive owners and staff.
Super nice people, SUPER SMALL PORTIONS. Its too bad, Id love to support local, but when I got this home and opened it, I was floored. Hungry again in 2 hrs. Ordered enough for 2 people, even though I was just one person, too. Unfortunate, as they were really nice people. Food
Delicious food and a very nice customer service ! Best place for south Indian food in Langford. !keep up the good work
Kurry King is a fantastic restaurant known for authentic South Indian delicacies, mainly Tamil-styled preparation. I must have tried Sambhar at least 20 other places in Canada, but by far, the one at Kurry King is the most authentic Tamil Sambhar I have ever had (it reminded me of my time in Chennai). The Spices are well-balanced in the dishes. Dosas, were sumptuous. The staff and ambience are excellent, and you have lots of space to sit and enjoy your food. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian and vegan delicacies available. From Dosas to Idlis to sambhar to Cauliflower Manchurian. Indo-Chinese options are plenty too.
I was disappointed in the food. I love South Indian and though they tried, the food just didn t come up to the usual standard. Dosas which we love were so so. As was the rest of the meal. Sorry I won t be going again.
Being a South Indian, it is always a delight to taste our own food out of our country. The chef at this restaurant is truly skillfull in making the best Curry Beef and Biryani. Him and his wife are so down to earth, which makes the atmosphere warm and welcoming.
I gave our meal 11/10, everything we got was amazing. There is a huge selection of appetizers and dishes, definitely something for everyone.
We are lucky to have South Indian cuisine available to us here in the West Shore. My wife and I enjoyed Masala Dosa, Sambar, Vada, Idli with Tomato & Coconut chutneys, and Masala Chai. Service was very pleasant, and the ambience was cozy. We will be back, and we will be telling our friends! Vegetarian options: Plenty of Vegetarian options here, as well as Gluten-free and dairy-free options.
Pretty good restaurant. Really good south Indian food. Friendly staffs.
Kurry King Don t let the name fool you, Kurry King restaurant is much more than curry. It has a diverse menu of south Indian foods as well as Indian-Chinese fusion dishes. Many of these are unlike the foods of northern India and the Punjab that are common in Indian restaurants in Canada. It does however have those favourites as well. We have enjoyed the dosa, a thin crepe made from lentils rather than wheat. Dosas can be had plain or with various fillings. The plain dosa is, well it is plain. But start adding some fillings and it can get interesting. Idli is a steamed dumpling made from a batter of fermented lentils and rice. Something you are not going to find in restaurants that focus on northern Indian foods. I suggest that Kurry King would benefit by having more extensive descriptions of its menu items that will be unfamiliar to most Canadians who enjoy northern Indian food. The two of us have sampled a variety of northern dishes, including chicken vindaloo, chicken in spinach, palak paneer, and chana masala. All have been good enough that it is now a challenge to enjoy when we arrive. Over a series of visits we have convinced the server that when we say we like food Indian hot , we really do mean it. Now it is getting spicy enough for us. Our southern Indian dishes have been equally good. One dish that we have enjoyed has the unappetizing description Cooked-Half done . In fact, it is a pleasantly moist omelette. I suggest that moist omelette would be a more attractive description. The physical layout of Kurry King it a tad deceptive. Upon entering is a small area that is mostly taken up by the administrative area. Just to the right is the main dining area with several tables and space for maybe 25 diners. Wall decorations on three sides show scenes from India while the fourth side is windows into the busy Veterans Memorial Parkway. This raises an ambience issue. All of these surfaces are hard , meaning that sounds from diners bounce around rather these being muted. Any hard objects (e.g., cutlery, keys, phones, etc.) falling are very audible. From this lower area is a stairway that I expect is an upper dining area. The stairs would be a challenge for some people going up and might be risky for some people going down. A television is visible above, which introduces another consideration. It seems that the television is sometimes on, projecting distracting noise down into the dining area. This detracts from the pleasure of a meal. In addition, on some occasions there is one or more child playing games on a device in the entrance area, resulting in more noise in the dining area. I suggest the dining experience could be enhanced by adding noise softening textures to much of the dining area and removing any television screens. (If people want to watch TV while they eat, let them get take out and do it at home.) It might be that children are not present during evening dining and that lunchtime presence is a summer phenomenon only. What is already pleasant is the graciousness of the floor staff and of the chef. On one occasion the chef came to our table to explain that they would be unable to make a dish in the usual way and suggested desirable alternatives. And as I have already mentioned, they have been attentive to our wish for enhanced spiciness while being conscious that many Canadians idea of spicy might be different from that of Indian diners. In all, we enjoy having the options of southern and northern Indian menu items and are happy to be continuing patrons of Kurry King.
Excellent place for South Indian food. Their mini tiffin was superb along with every dosa varieties
Finally, dosa in Langford!!! This is an authentic South Indian menu and very, very delicious! The staff are warm, welcoming and happy to answer all your questions. So kind! Vegetarian options: Menu shows veg and vegan Dietary restrictions: Menu shows gluten free and dairy free
Great place Great food Very friendly chef and owner Food : 5/5
We did a Party Order with Kurry King! The food was SUPER-Delicious!! Their Briyani (we ordered Chicken, Mutton, Veg) along with Raita was the best in Victoria (and Vancouver, I should say) and all our guests liked it soooo much! Food was MIND-BOGGLING and some of our guests even packed the leftovers to share it with their friends and family, who couldn t attend. The owners were MORE GENEROUS and went above and beyond giving complimentary desserts for about 20 people! I would highly recommend and give 10/10 for their personalised services! Simply THE BEST!!!!!
Great taste with value. Sumptious food with right amount of spices. Kids option can be enhanced, as the location invites dine- in option with family. Recommended way forward.
Really delicious food and lovely staff. Incredible vegan options. Lucky to have them in the West Shore.
Mutton biryani was pretty good. Vegetable Kothu parotta was tasty but a bit dry. The ambience was good.
Went for lunch with a group. Tried lots of different and excellent tasting dishes. Everyone enjoyed everything about our visit. Food
Amazing! There was lots of variety and plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Very friendly service as well
BEST INDIAN FOOD ON THE ISLAND!! My boyfriend and i had a phenomenal experience dining in here. Not only did theg have amazing authentic south indian food but also great south indian and indo-china fusion dishes. As a vegan it was wonderful to feel like anything on the menu could be modified to my needs and i noticed there were gluten and dairy free options as well! We had the idlis (SO GOOD), deep friend paneer, veganized chana masala with tofu (FREE RICE), and padokas (comes with a delicious coconut chutney and tomato chutney, and lentil dip). Vegetarian options: Plentiful Dietary restrictions: So accommodating

The best Masala & Veggie Paneer Dosa s in Victoria and hands down one of the best dosa s we ve had in years!! Their Sambar Vada is also amazing. This hidden gem is family run by the husband(the chef) and his wife. They are super kind and friendly. Their flavours are great, freshness and good quality. Thank you so much as always. We definitely will be coming back again

Awesome food and very friendly service. Our favorite Indian restaurant!
Had an incredible dining experience at the Indian restaurant in Langford! The food was awesome and the Dosai was a standout dish that you absolutely must try. And the ginger coffee was simply awesome too. Just cant wait to return soon for another delightful meal with friends.
Great food guys. I had a good dosa after 2 years. . Thanks.
Absolutely delighted with the chicken biryani and kothuporotta at this gem in Langford! The flavors transported me straight to Tamilnadu, and Chef Ramesh deserves a special shoutout for capturing the true essence of South Indian cuisine. Yummy food always, and a taste of authenticity in every bite!

Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options Parking: Parking in the back Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible, it is on the ground floor
I was thrilled to finally make it to Kurry King. I heard about it from a Vegan group I am in so it was perfect for a friend who is a vegetarian. We had the best cauliflower pakoda I have had. Very little batter so was not overly greasy. We shared a dosa and they cut it for us which made it way easier to share. We also had Kothu Parotta which turned out not be what we envisioned because we only looked up what Parotta meant lol. Parotta means flatbread so we thought it would be flatbread with veggies etc on top but it is all mixed together. It was excellent. Definitely going back again. The only reason I am giving 4 stars for atmosphere is because the room is small (I think there is seating upstairs as well) and we prefer to be in less crowded environments. Looking forward to trying some of the meat dishes.
Beat Indian food from Tamil Nadu in Victoria. Chicken chattinad and parotta taste like it s from Madras.
Great option for south indian food in Langford. Taste was fresh and everything was served with a smile.
Boasting pages worth of dishes from South India, Kurry King s menu had this South Indian foodie s heart from the first sight. I placed a catering order (2 days before the event) for a dinner party. I was impressed with the service right from placing the order to picking up the food. The Indian/Hakka Chinese (Schezuan Chicken Fried Rice & Gobi Manchurian) was equally matched by the Chicken Curry & Veg. Pulao and had guests going back for more. The food was a huge success, and had my guests raving about it for days after the event. Thank you Kurry King for such an amazing catering experience! Highly recommended!!
The time mentioned is 12-9pm even on Sundays. However came here at 12.15 pm and the place is shut. No timing mentioned outside the place. What a disappointment.
Delicious Biryani..
We visited the restaurant for dinner. We had the most authentic and delicious south Indian food, bringing a slice of south India and its food to Victoria. Kudos to the owners Mr. Ramesh and Mrs. Nandini for their excellent customer service and their warmth in serving the food. Note: A speciality of Madurai, Jigarthanda is a recommended must as dessert. Would 100% visit again and recommend to friends and family
Im from America and this place is way better than what we have in the states. I had the butter chicken dosai, and it was incredible. There was enough for 2 meals.
My aunt visited us from YellowKnife. She was impressed with the food and the hospitality. The amount was generous. Thank you for your service. Would recommend this wonderful place without any reservation.
Thank you so much!
We were pleasantly surprised with the authenticity and quality of the Masala Dosa and Medhu Vada we had here. The lovely couple Nandini and Ramesh were pleasant and attentive to our needs. As an Indian i appreciated the authenticity of the food we had. We will be returning soon
Dont go here guys, they sell chapatis which are ready to made from walmart. 0 customer service, the guy didnt even have the manners to talk to customer
They are serving walmart chapatis/rotis making fool of the customers. Will never order from this restaurant again.
Such authentic flavours and Vegan options! What a great experience. The chef even came out to greet us. I recommend the Tiffin combo! So many Unique Flavours. You will be so full after. We shall return. Vegetarian options: More than half the options are Veg...awesome! Kid-friendliness: Non-spicy options for your picky eaters. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor access.
