Baan Thai Langford always provides an amazing experience. From the food to the service to the cocktails, I find I am never disappointed. There are plenty of gluten free and vegan options and servers are always very knowledgeable about allergens! My favourite dish is the eggplant tofu (V3) by far! Keep it up team

Had an absolutely delicious meal at the Langford location! Service was fast and the food was hot and fresh. I recommend the Singha beer and Pork Pad Thai! Vegetarian options: Baan Thai will happily make your meal Vegan upon request Parking: Plenty of free parking, however it is on a diagonal so it can be a pain trying to park if youre coming from the opposite direction

We were looking forward to a good meal at a place we hadnt tried before. Unfortunately we did not get to try the food. We were seated promptly and then forgotten about. After 25 mins of waiting we left hungry and disappointed. The restaurant was about 2/3rd full and they seemed to have plenty of staff

Horrible service. Out of my normal social media habit, I am writing a bad review on my page. Baan Thai in Langford basically kicked us out of their restaurant tonight, refusing to seat us because of my child, who had only walked into the restaurant instead of waiting at the front with us. Notably, the restaurant was almost empty, but they said there were no tables available for us! We walked over to Liberty Kitchen and got seated right away, though the restaurant was packed and had a wonderful dinner. I have never been so disrespected because I have a child that didnt follow the procedure of waiting by the door to be seated, a child who came back to the door when I told him to come back.

They wouldnt seat us or serve us when the restaurant was practically empty because I had a child they thought was unsuitable for the restaurant. We went to Liberty Kitchen and got seated immediately and had a beautiful dinner and they treated my son well at Liberty Kitchen. Baan Thai servers and line management were so disrespectful!! On principle, I dont recommend anyone go there with children. THAT RESPONSE IS AN OUTRIGHT LIE. YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO COVER UP. WE WENT BY THE RESTAURANT AGAIN AN HOUR LATER AND SAW IT STILL EMPTY. THE TABLES WERE NOT RESERVED. WHEN WE WERE THERE, WE WERE TOLD IT WOULD BE 20 MINUTES TO SEAT US AND WE LEFT SIMPLY BECAUSE WE KNEW EXACTLY WHY THEY WERE NOT SEATING US IMMEDIATELY AND WOULDNT EVEN IN 20 MINUTES. IT WAS VERY OBVIOUS WHAT WAS GOING ON. THEY WERE ACTING COY AND ALL EMPLOYEES BEING VERY AWKWARD WITH US WHEN THEY TOLD US IT WOULD BE 20 MINTUES. WE EVEN CALLED WHEN WE WERE SEATED AT LIBERTY KITCHEN AND SPOKE TO AMY, THE LINE MANAGER THAT WAS WORKING THAT NIGHT AND WHO WOULDNT SEAT US, AND GOT HER TO ADMIT WHY WE WERENT GIVEN A TABLE - IT WAS BECAUSE OF MY CHILD. SO YOU ARE JUST LYINGRIGHT NOW. THE RESTAURANT WAS NOT RESERVED AT ALL. IT WAS A VERY SLOW SATURDAY NIGHT AT BAAN THAI IN LANGFORD AND I SAW IT WITH MY OWN EYES.

The food was amazing and as soon as the one person ( I m thinking the Manager) realized the lady who was supposed to be helping us she was there and helped us 100 % so we got our delicious meal

Was really looking forward to a nice Thai meal with my family. Unfortunately the staff had other plans. I was there with my family and our friends and they refused to seat us because one of our children was a little rambunctious. Totally turned us all off of the restaurant. We walked down to Liberty Kitchen and were seated right away and saved the night for us. Go Liberty Kitchen and shame on you Baan Thai!

I had to cancel my Uber order due to a mess up with their app. Was charged for 75% of the order anyway. When I called Baan Thai the next day to see if I could still pick up my food from the cancelled order, they said no but they would be happy to make me a whole new order free of charge. What a classy gesture! Fan for life. Hard to get good service these days and hats off to these guys! The manager I spoke to was so kind wish I could recall her name.

Their food tastes good but I choose not to eat here often due to the price vs portion. Spring rolls were a bit greasy this time around.

One of the best places around, surprisingly not that busy. The massaman Lamb is in my top 5 dishes EVER. Most of the staff are welcoming, warm, and make you feel like a real person. thanks team, keep it up!

I love this Baan Thai out in Langford . Generous parking , great servers, great menus for happy hour and always changing ... the only one thing I dislike is that their soups are the best but they lack ingredients! Like I ordered a hot and sour prawn soup and it had more broth than anything else .

The Oiliest Foods that I ve ever had. After having a couple of bites my lips were looking like wearing Clear Lip Gloss. All I was tasting was Oil, so I couldn t taste any foods. It was expensive & just a waste of money. Tasted so Unhealthy & not recommended.

The food isn t terrible, but the service recently has been very very uneven. We ve often found the service in the evening has recently been very we ll serve you when we feel like it and the staff has seemed to be a little too busy chatting to pay attention. Also, be careful of the add-ons. Last winter, we got charged $5 x 2 for two tiny thimbles of coconut milk. When we brought it to their attention, they told us too bad . Hopefully the service improves.

The food was great and the service was good however, the 18% automatic charge for groups over 6 is, in my opinion, completely unreasonable and the only reason for the low stars. I don t understand why it s so high and for so few people. Tips are to be earned, not demanded. The funny thing is that I would have been happy to tip 18% based on the service but making it a requirement is tacky. Also, if I m bringing more people to the restaurant, that means more business so why am I charged more for it? It really turned me off and I won t be returning for that reason alone. It seems that several restaurants are heading in this direction and I m not here for it. Lesson learned: ask before being seated about automatic gratuity.

Best Thai food in Victoria for taste, consistency, quality of ingredients, and atmosphere. Must try the spring rolls - the sauce is unbelievably good! The pad drunken noodles or fried rice or red curry are great options. We also love the Thai iced tea with coconut milk as a lactose-free alternative. Friendly staff has always been accommodating to dietary restrictions.

Worst take out ever. The description on the site is not what we get in take out. This is not told when we order food. When I ve asked about this discrepancy, I ve got the rudest response ever- Dine in and take out ingredients are different . Would never choose this place.

Been here 4 or 5 times - food is always hot, fresh, plentiful and tasty, and the service is always great. The new outdoor patio is beautiful and actually warm enough to take your coat off! Really feels like youre getting good value for your money. Dont forget dessert!

Ordered take out. Asked for the C2 without bamboo. Not too sure but I should still be getting the usual amount in the bowl but the last few times it s been under filled.

I had the satay with was ok but not the best peanut sauce I had. I also had the pad thai wich was discusting, I made the 3 other people at my table taste it. We mentioned it to the server and nothing was offered and no discount. The service was blah, no water refill, not much check in. From all the plates the attention to details in the food was not there, rice and rice noodles were sighly undercooked, the brocoli was completly raw, more than just crunchy. For the other 3 meals at the table the flavor was ok. The chocolate cake was very good even if it was frozen, just no attention and care for details. The restaurant itself has a very nice look and cozy. Will not be back

Overall a decent Thai place. Besides the keen service from waitresses nothing stood out. After we are seated we ask for hot water so our waitress went to fetch it. Then perhaps another waitress saw that we aren t given water so she poured us standard two glasses of water with ice. I d say there s miscommunication there. Other then that, their pleasant attitude and service are nice. My order of a lunch special for minced beef with basil and rice is alright. The minced beef is slightly spicy (the menu and waitress have mentioned it) with basil leaves. But I do find the beef on the salty side. The soup that came with includes plenty of chopped celery and carrot. The vegetables have cooked well with the liquid. And the spring roll is wrapped with vermicelli. This restaurant seems to be a popular lunch spot for business workers. Not only is there s a bar and tables could be put together to accommodate larger groups.

We dined in celebrating an 80th birthday. The food is exceptional and the staff were very friendly and efficient. It would have been nice had they offered a piece of cake or something for the special occasion though.

I came here with my husband for their late night specials & was very pleased with their food! We had the phad thai, thai nachos, & lettuce wraps: they were all SO GOOD. The best part is when we asked the server to make it thai spicy they actually delivered! We had a great time & we ll definitely be coming back :)

I have a shellfish allergy which typically makes me quite nervous about ordering Thai food. The staff at Baan Thai went above and beyond to accommodate me, even asking me for contact info to call me back to confirm my order after placing one for delivery. Food was hot and delicious. Good sized portions. Definitely recommend.

Food was really really good! It was quite expensive though. We had a party of 7 for a birthday dinner and nobody disclosed that there was an automatic gratuity. Waitress was a bit slow with service and hard to find. Food all came out separately over about 10 minutes despite the restaurant not being busy. Not really worth the cost in my opinion.

Thai restaurant serving Thai dishes! Went for dinner with a couple of friends, and had a good time. I am not a big fan of Thai foods and my review will be in that context. We ordered Fried Rice, Phad Thai Special, Thai Nachos, Larb Lettuce Wraps, Satay, and Crispy Chicken Wings. For drinks, we had tap bear. As my first time having Thai Food, the food was great. I would definitely recommend Baan Thai.

Tried to give this place another try. Waited 1 1/2 hours and no dinner. All around us were being served meal. We asked what happened. Told her we will have it to go as it had been too long. Our server told us that there were too many take out meals. I went and spoke to the person in charge, she told me the server forgot to put in our order. She said there would be no charge for our meal. We were there on a coupon. She made me pay everything over and above the coupon. So the meal was not complimentary. Worse service and experience ever.

How do you mess up Thai food so badly? Man... Im sorry, guys. Im sure your staff works hard, but this was absolutely awful. Bland, overcooked and smelled terrible... which Ive legitimately NEVER experienced with Thai food (even from other Baan Thai locations). Normally the aroma from Thai food is saliva-inducing! Skip this place. Order from Sabhai, or better yet... go downtown for Sookjai Thai (hands down best Thai food in Victoria)

I ordered 3 Phad Thai my family favorite today due my sons birthday that we planned to eating outside in the church. I asked nicely for some forks but the girl told me that I had to pay .25 cents each. I told her that we will having eating out and asked how ì could eat eat phad Thai without fork, she still insisted I had to pay. To be honest I was a bit regret to gave tips. I just want to help local businesses in my area by buying them and given tips, but the service should be improved and they should understand the common senses not only following management direction for cutting cost without explaining the purpose.

Please get my order right! :( this place uses excellent quality ingredients, and I want to keep coming back *but* unfortunately the kitchen suffers from inconsistency or lack of attention. On two separate occasions Ive received No spice when ordering Medium over the phone. The front of house staff are great at repeating the order (and my receipt always says what it should for the order.) So whats the issue Baan Thai??? Getting really frustrating adding hot sauce at home to my dish, its not the same.

I used to eat at Baan Thai in downtown Victoria once or twice a week when I worked in town. Now I work from my home office and get to done regularly at the Langford location. It s the best Thai food in Victoria, and my favourite restaurant hands down. Ask for the fresh noodle option on applicable dishes. Next level good!

We just had a horrible experience with this restaurant (Langford branch). We ordered online through their website. There were some stock issues so they needed to change some items which was fine. We paid through their website and were told it would arrive an hour later. An hour and a half later still nothing. Opened front door and saw some spilled food out on the curb so looks like whoever was delivering got to our house, dropped some of it and then just left without either delivering or telling us. Rang Baan Thai back to find out what was going on and were told that we needed to contact Doordash about the missing food, there was nothing they could or would do, and no redelivery was planned (even though we ordered and paid through Baan Thai). Eventually get a text 1hr40mins after original order that our order has been cancelled. Neither the restaurant, nor doordash offered anything as an apology or explained the complete lack of communication about the mystery missing food. We got a refund, eventually, but what poor customer service. Mistakes happen, but at least let people know and offer something for the hassle. It is a shame, because the food is really good.

Me and my wife visited the restaurant and the food was okay, but the service was pathetic. The lady server who was taking our order was not at all inteeested to serve us. Her behavior was very rude. I don t think we will visit this place in future and I will recommend the same to my friends.

Food & service was wonderful as usual BUT your online menu needs to be updated. Prices on line are old & lower than the menu . Some people would be very upset about that.

Nice ambience, decent food. Better to mention/ask the sweetness level of the food you order, as I ended up having the Vegetarian Pad Thai with Tofu really sweet, although I mentioned the spice level to be Medium. Also, the soup portions are large and so be watchful when you order.

I provided feedback using their feedback page on February 26th. I received no reply. I phoned them on March 15......as of March 24th still no reply from John, the manager. Why provide a feedback page when you dont have the common courtesy to reply? Also dont have employees promising that youll call me when again you dont have the decency to call a customer with reasonable questions and suggestions? This was the feedback I provided: When I went to pay using my AMEX card online, a message came up that the card was not supported but when I picked up the order, a staff member said AMEX is accepted. Why is it not accepted online? Secondly, (order number 65706), this was a large order for 7 people, totalling $152.11 and none of the items were identified by the order number. It took a long time and was most frustrating to work out what item was which. By the time we had opened each of the items and tried to determine what they were, the items were cold. Surely, its not much to suggest that the menu item number is written on each container? Sadly, we were very disappointed.

First meal here was excellent. Second visit I took Mom. Music was so loud we couldn t talk. Asked the waitress to turn it down and she said she didn t have the code for the computer(?) Mom added shrimp which came almost raw, therefore, extremely bland. She won t return. Third visit I got 2/3 the amount of food, didn t taste near as good and my aunt was charged $2.25 for 2 tbsps coconut milk. We won t be returning.

the massaman curry was horrendous, potatoes tasted rotten and broth tasted like a beef stew...nothing resembled Thai food...Ill give 2 stars cause the portion was huge and I was starving, but man that was bad Thai food

Fantastic food. Fantastic atmosphere and lovely staff. We tried their iced thai tea, their glass noodles. And their red curry with coconut rice. And loved it all. We will definitely be back.

All the Indian restaurants in Victoria are sell western version of Indian food that they should be ashamed of calling it Indian food. This was our go to thai place since it opened. We ordered our usual lastnight and the price has gone up significantly, and quality was not on par with past times. Hopefully the quality thing was a one off, but with the new price im not sure well be back to find out. It was Over $80 for 2 take out phad thais with springrolls and a tip. Maybe im out of touch with pricing and i know everythings gone up, but we cant justify that anymore. Now my cheap a** will have to go without weekly thai food lol.

$15 for 4 spring rolls?! Absolutely not. I cant believe how much Baan Thai has raised prices and reduced portions in the last few months, relative to other restaurants. And with no ability to get delivery other than through third parties, youre looking at $$ meal for at $$$$ price. Really disheartening for a restaurant that use to be a personal go-to for take out.

The food is delicious, but the sound is always too loud

I love the food at Baan Thai Wok & Bar | Thai Restaurant Langford. My go to favourites are Tom Kai Gai and the Drunken Noodles, I also love Pad Thai and the peanut sauce. My favourite curry is the Green curry. The flavours are wonderful and taste authentic. My rating is at 3 because of the increase in prices, it used to be a couple dollars more to add meat to the meal now its around $7.00 for chicken and up to $8.00 for beef. Even adding more vegetables to a meal that should already have them comes to $5.00. Other Thai places in town include the Noodle, with vegetable and your choice of meat or tofu for no extra charge. (Coming to around $15.50 for everything.) If the prices go back to what they were before, Ill be changing my rating to 5 stars. :-)

It s a real shame they jacked the prices so abruptly and as much as they did. $15 dollars for 4 spring rolls now!!! For an extra dip for those spring rolls they want an extra $2.50, to add protein to the pad Thai (which they also raise the price on) is an additional $7!!! It s also pretty tacky to charge you .35 for the bag they pack it in for take out and not say anything - which I only noticed when I looked at the receipt because it was so much higher than we were used to. This is gouging at this point. Leaves a bad taste in one s mouth for sure. While I understand the restaurant industry suffered over Covid, so did many industries , with raising interest rates on peoples homes, when the cost of living is already so high for families these aggressive price hikes make it hard to support their restaurant . We were regulars to the Langford location but will have to consider other options. No other restaurant have we been to lately has raised their prices this dramatically. Disappointed to say the least.

Had lunch here today. Great atmosphere and set up with the open patios. Looks like a good patio happy hour 4 dollar beers and appetizers. Lunch was good, friendly staff and ok prices too. Sept 2022 visited again. Menu has changed and didnt have the combinations to pick. Prices seemed to have spiked yep inflation is here.

Expensive, unfortunately did not get my order right, the quality not good! Addons that are included at other restaurants makes this place very expensive .. Never again!

Ridiculously small portions for the price you pay. The food was quite good except the shrimps wasn t fresh and the meals didn t come with rice. I won t be back!

You would like to think that a restaurant manager or supervisor in charge would like to rectify a mistake made on behalf of the basest standards of customer service. Unfortunately Ive repeatedly experienced lackluster service from this restaurant. Just today I ordered from ban Thai in Langford and they did not send two of the items requested (2 rice noodle orders), despite the fact that I was charged for those items. When I attempted to rectify the problem they refused to communicate directly despite my giving them my phone number. When I attempted to reorder the two side dishes, the message I got back was that they were closed and I presently know that they are open. I will call again to see who is in charge today and I will be popping around today after work to discuss this directly with the manager. Given Ive had repeated unsatisfactory food and customer service exchanges with this particular restaurant I feel safe giving it a one- in fact Id like to give it zero. Any company that does not rise to an invitation to resolve their own mistakes is failing. I would recommend you go somewhere else for lunch or risk it and not get lunch at all.

This was our go to thai restaurant. Loved the Royal Oak location, would eat downtown when we were there, and when we moved to Langford, we were thrilled when they opened in Langford! Went to order tonight and decided it wasnt worth it. We have a standard order in our house. In May 2022, it was $51.35, tonight it was $68.48. Im not sure why prices have increased by 33% but I cant support it. Tonight well be testing out one of Langfords other thai restaurants

Horrible service. Lunch was 1 1/2 long. Virtually no one in the restaurant so no reason for poor service with 5 staff members. Waiter extremely rude. Food was overly spiced. I have eaten there many times but I will not go back because of the poor service and staff.

Very fresh food, delicious! Clean kitchen, friendly staff! A must try for Thai newbies.

Vegetarian options: This is not the first time that they messed up our take out order. We ordered a dish with side rice which we did not get. My husband ordered mild spice but it was actually hot. We had to make our own noodles for my husbands dinner. In the pic you can plainly see the spicy red peppers in what should be a mild dish.

The server is super nice. The restaurant is beautiful. However, we find the food here is super sweet and a little salty. Authentic Thai food is not sweet that I can confirm!!!

A family group of seven of us dined here. We each found the food interesting and delicious. We had a pretty good representative sampling as our ages ranged from 89 to 11 years. We each enjoyed our meals, and the relaxed atmosphere. So...A solid three stars are earned. From me, a three star rating is good. Three stars indicates that my expectations were met. It is where I expect any business to rank, and means I got good service and/or a perfectly usable product. There has to be room in the rating platform for disappointing results and for those pleasant surprises. So, obviously, five stars from me is difficult to get. It is the terminal positive rating and would indicate near perfection with little to no room for improvement.

The food that I got was really good you might have to pay a bit more to find the food with the most flavor but overall every meal I had there was quite good at the least and definitely try the appetizers

Looooooove their thai green curry here....such great and authentic thai food

Okay so the vegetables and chicken in the curries I ordered were cooked decently. The papaya salad was decent, not too sweet or sour (extremely small portion though). The only thing I ask is why does the red and green curry taste sweet? Definitely not authentic Thai food I can tell you from a person who lived in Thailand for 3 years. I m guessing it s made sweet to westernize it. Overall, kind of disappointed.

I always get your food through SkipTheDishes, but today I decided to go in and order. Well, of course you ignored me. A white woman got there after me, and you helped her even though I said I was next in line. Keep on being racist and classist, you just lost a customer!

Baan Thai is one of the best Thai food chain in town. My favorite is the beef brisket egg noodle soup. They used to have a curry chicken egg noodle, that was the best I ever tasted. But they stopped sadly. I recommend this restaurant!

I dont normally write reviews on a Friday night, but I have to give kudos to the folks at Belmont Market Baan Thai. Luka and the staff gave our party of four the best service weve had in a restaurant for years. Super attentive to making it a great experience, and the food was also awesome. Very happy with every aspect of our dine-in experience and will definitely be back soon!
