take out only, the best chicken corn soup and loved the special chow mein. my go to quick meal after work to take home.

Called in our order at 5pm. Told us on the phone it would be ready in 20 mins. Arrived at 5:20 and we waited 25 more minutes until the order was finally done. When I checked in with them at 5:30 and they said they were just getting started on it. When they were finally done and I asked why it took so long, they were completely unapologetic and said it was just little late. I know this place gets a lot of take out orders but it s just not worth it when you can be the order that they just forget about and you re chasing them down. The food here is not good enough for that.

Was decent Chinese food. I had the deep fried tofu, which could have been crispier, but was tasty. I appreciated that they also substituted their egg noodles for rice noodles in their mushroom chow mein, albeit for a nominal fee. The Buddhas feast was tasty, and veggies were cooked well.

Drove here in stop from out of town to be greeted with a no public washroom and no dine in sign. Not impressive , will not be back.

Sadly this will be our last time at star lake, 22 years I ve been coming to you, for the most part it s constant. We do not eat out a ton but we order about 3-4 times a year from you. We always order the same things. Combo C with substitutes, I drive forty minutes because I know star lake will delivery that certain flavour we crave and our food is fresh Today I was surprised to see even though we asked for substitutes the price was cheaper than declared online. We ll gladly pay the extra just cook our food correctly and make it fresh. However my prawns were over cooked n dried out, sweet and sour pork was dried out not fresh and the rice no seasoning added to it. So three out of four dishes were terrible. I m not sure what happened, perhaps new owners or new cook but I am so greatly disappointed. The service has always been just ok same waitress for 22 years who s sometimes friendly but most of the time moody. I tipped her as usual but no thankyou from her no nothing. Over the years I ve recommend this place over and over to anyone that will listen but every rising in costs, in gas, food and inconsistent cooking it s no longer worth it you ve lost my vote,please do better!

Super fresh and good portion. I ordered hot and sour soup (small) which was perfect for 2 people. And also chicken fried rice and kung pao chicken which was so fresh and tasted really yummy. Definitely going to order again. Overall perfect for price, portion and quality.

So we ordered take away last night. Woman on the phone was dismissive and indifferent on the phone. Like we were an annoyance to her. I go in, pick up the food and the place reminded me of a 1980s cafeteria. Service once I picked it up was quick at least. But not welcoming or friendly. Get the food home and the chow mein is decent. Beef and broccoli was just ok but the honey garlic pork was so overcooked and dry it was like eating beef jerky slathered in sugar syrup. Minimal flavour and tough and chewy. Absolutely inedible. The only real saving grace for this place was that its slightly more affordable than most other places. But affordable garbage is still garbage. We will try the next place down the road and keep trying to find good food in Langley.

My wife and i agree this is the best Chinese food in Langley. A bit expensive but worth it. This is our new go to llace for Chinese food now

My order included sweet and sour pork. I asked for the sauce to be on the side and they ended up charging me EXTRA for that? What? I wanted it on the side because I wanted LESS. And the rice was wayyy over cooked.

Large portions, followed instructions, just not my style of Chinese. Very western and chow mein had really large noodles.

Place an order for the family and the lady said it was going to take 40 minutes. Got there and waited another 30 minutes. Right when we arrived she told us itll be ready in 3 minutes and its coming up. Highly disorganized and very poor service

Ordered $80 in Chinese food from here last night and both my daughter and I were vomiting sick within a couple hours of eating it. Woke up this morning to a stomachs ache and diarrhea expelling undigested noodles. Something wasn t right.

Great food. Good prices. Big portions. First time ordering from Star Lake and they did not disappoint. Food came on time and piping hot. Veggies still had a good crunch and were not at all soggy or mushy. The chicken balls were super crunchy and actually had a good amount of chicken inside, it wasnt mostly batter like weve had in the past from other places. We also liked how the sauce came on the side. Ginger beef was one of the best weve had. Everything was super good. Will be ordering from them again.

Our family have always ordered take out at Star Lake for many years (since 2008). Good food. Sometimes food might have been a little bland or not cooked as good as last time, but overall a good place to dine in (before covid-19 times) or take out. And food typically is delicious. Recent orders Ive added the cream of corn soup to our orders. So good. For take out, make sure to eat everything. Find the food isnt good after a day or so. But thats normal.

This restaurant is to die for! We had two appetizers and a crispy duck. The sesame chicken was the best that I have ever had. The restrooms were super clean and and ambience delightful on an icy day. Very attentive staff and great service with a lovely lazy Susan on our table for sharing. This is a photo of the crispy noodles. Ill be back Joe! My only wish: please get egg rolls on the menu.

If you are looking for good, authentic Chinese food, this is definitely not the place. We ordered the honey garlic pork which is supposed to be sticky and crispy .it was dry and rubbery. We ordered crispy chow mein .it was very soggy and bland. We had paid $3 extra for crispy noodles, so obviously we were upset. Called the restaurant and the owner said that it was like that. So why would I pay extra for that?? Not going back.

Been enjoying their food since 2014. Currently takeout only, so dont plan to dine in. Food is very good, nothing fine dining, but definitely meets expectations, with great portion sizes and flavors.

This is our favorite place in Langley / Cloverdale! The most tender Sweet and Sour Pork Ive ever had! We have tried a few different spots, but none has measured up to Star Lake! We have been here since 2010 and eat here at least once a month!

I had my first order from this place. I ordered sweet and sour pork, almond chicken and chow mein. The pork was good. The almond chicken was a bit dry. It is obviously cooked at an earlier time and reheated when ordered. Overall the food was good but not excellent. I would go back again but not my first choice.

First time ordering from here. Big portions. Deep fried chicken wings were so good. It s unlike any wings I have eaten. A very umami flavour. I googled for recipe but can t find any that could lead to this taste. Ah well, I ll just have to keep ordering from here!

This place is absolutely fantastic! This was the first time we ve ordered from there. We were blown away, the food was very delicious. We ordered the breaded almond chicken, bbq pork fried rice and crispy ginger beef. The portions are very generous which is awesome. The quality of the food is what really stood out! This is our new go to for Chinese food, best place in the area.

Overall my opinion of this restaurant is not good. Small portions and high price. The chicken chop suey was full of grease which made it not edible. The deep fried prawns/chicken balls were dry and extremely greasy like they had been cooked in advanced. I normally order from Dragon Garden but they are closed on Wednesdays. Not going to be returning. Thats why Ive given 1 star.

We were looking for decent Chinese food and everywhere seems to have 4 stars or less so we were hesitant. Glad we decided on Star Lake. The food was hot, flavourful and delivered quickly. We had the ginger beef, honey garlic pork, green spicy beans, chow mein, fried rice and sweet and sour pork. We didn t have any complaints. Portion sizes are good and prices were reasonable. Will definitely order here again.

Our go to place for Chinese food in Langley. They only do take out now, but its quick when you order early. Favorites include Squid in Pepper Salt; the Prawn variant is also delish! Also like the Beef with Gai Lan and Ginger Beef with Onion. Pair it with Shrimp fried rice and youre golden!

Service was terrible. The short haired blonde lady at the front was super rude, like we were an inconvenience. No hello or greeting, no thank you at the end. We were told it would be 30 mins for the order pickup, it took over an hour. No apology or anything. If I was the owner/manager, I d definitely be wanting to adjust the customer service skills. And the lady at the front needs to be trained on basic manners considering shes the one your customers are forced to interact with.

Barely 4 stars. The food was decent. The sweet and sour pork was very sweet. The honey garlic pork was good. The chicken chop Suey was a little on the softer side no crunch to the vegetables. The deep fried prawns tasted like pancake batter on prawns. The chow mein was the loser here. Well the flavour was good the noodles were not. They were very chewy. The worst part isnt the food but the rude lady answering the phone and taking the money. Seems to hate her job and people. It was not a good experience when coming in for the first time. That was disappointing as the lady who gave me our food was sweet and kind.

Very dissapointed with the delivery service I order my food and was told it would be 45 min. I was then contacted about 1.5 hrs later asking if I wanted to cancel my order because it would be another hour. They do have good food but would not recommend their delivery service

Ordered at 5:30 for delivery. Was told 45 - 60 minutes. I called after 1.25 hours. They said too busy to deliver, come pick it up. I drove there. It wasnt ready. Their excuse: we got busy. Not impressed.

I order there quite frequently but last night when we ordered we asked for crispy ginger beef...I dont know if youve seen regular chewy beef dishes their much different and far less appealing depending on how its cooked and plated as well...anyway I went back to explain the mix up and she basically told me she didnt care and that there was no chance she could have been mistaken...lol..again whatever I thought . I gave her back the beef and finally begged for a half order replacement of crispy ginger beef what we actually wanted...and I was ordering more sweet and sour pork to go with all the left over chow main...long and short...she has no customer skills arrogamt and quite rude about it...I definitely will be shopping around for another establishment maybe with some customer service and a little class...the food isnt even that great its soggy and semi cold alot of the time...its just close..lol.....oh well beware people!

Always delicious food, not greasy, full of flavor. I tend to order Singapore Vermicelli at different places to taste how authentic the kitchen is. Star Lake is always one of my favs.

Great portion size, staff were on top of our needs as guests with water and checking on food and our experience. the food was very tasty and filling so do come with an appetite and you need not worry about your wallet either the prices are quite fair and cheap too

So I got the lunch special (4 items) because Im a huge fan of western Chinese food. I got chicken Chow Mein, pork fried rice, almond chicken and sweet and sour pork as well as extra sesame seeds. (Which where an extra $1) The chow mein, five and almond chicken where packed together in the same container, which was expected. Where as the sweet and sour was in a seperate container. I called ahead and the food was waiting for me when I arrived. I didnt find it at all greasy. The flavors where good and I was full when I was done. I will eat here again for sure. the meal was only $13.65

My family ordered dinner to go on Friday night. We were quoted 15mins for pick up. We ordered 7:05pm, I got to the restaurant at 7:20pm. There was one table inside the entire place. Our order wasn t ready until 7:35pm. I did not complain or say anything about the misquote for pick up. I took the order home 5mins away. We immediately served dinner and sat down to eat. Everything accept the beef and broccoli was cold. My kids who could careless about food quality, asked if we could heat up their meals. We were all really disappointed that after getting dinner out that we were doing microwave dinner. I called the restaurant to speak to a manager about the situation. The lady I spoke with told me to just put it in the microwave, and next time they would give us another 10% off our order. Since you receive 10% off pick ups by default, this means we would get 20%off. My wife and I understand this is a small Ma and Pa restaurant, we really felt let down. We have been going to Star Lake for the last nine years. Looks like we are finding a new place.

Been going here for more than 15 years. This was the most amazing Chinese food restaurant near me and my go to. My family and my friends would all go here. I noticed that about 10 years ago something changed. It is still a great place to eat but the quality just isnt as amazing as it was before.

First time..it was amazing..a real treat from cooking.

Our party of 7 rolled in at dinner time after leaving another restaurant close by and being shocked at the prices. We were sat and served immediately by very friendly staff. Dinner for 6 was ordered for a pleasantly surprising $78, and came out starting with the egg rolls which were excellent. We substituted one item for ginger beef and it could possibly be the best Ive had. Everything else was similarly fantastic, and though I did my best the 7 of us were unable to finish everything and needed a container to take the rest home. Im extremely pleased with my dining experience at Star Lake.

Worst customer service. If you call for delivery they start rushing you and telling you to order more. Last time calling or eating from here. Good luck to those who give them their money.

I feel that the taste of the food is very bland, maybe it is designed for foreigners. The service is average, but the key is that things are not cheap. Not suitable for Chinese people.

Decided to order Chinese have never eaten here before as from out of town.Excellent food lots given could have had a few more prawns considering I ordered the meal for 4 .Otherwise excellent. I ordered at 5 got food at 545 that is fast service and the delivery lady was supper nice same with the lady that answered the phone.Food was piping hot had to use pot holders to get it out of bag .I would definitely order from here again.

Food is good. Ordered there many times. But one time they forgot our egg rolls and we were ordering $40 worth of food and I asked for the egg rolls from past order. They put up such a fight .. Manager came on and called me a liar. Told them to cancel order. Good choice for me as we found chilli house to be better service and similar price! Wont order here again! Take your 0 50 cent egg rolls and shove em. Lost good business ... Actually bring my star rating down to 1. Customer service should be #1. If I were them. I would have said. Here are 4 free egg rolls on the house.... Sorry for inconvenience. But Nooooo they lost a $40 order and future business forever. We would have given them at least $120 a month!

Ordered from here 10 years ago and see nothing has changed. The Almond chicken didnt have any almonds and had no taste. The beef in the chop suey had the consistency of fat. The mushrooms in the chop suey were still dirty (mmm poop). The sweet and sour pork was deep fried pieces of pork fat. You want good Chinese food in Langley just order from Chop Chop.

While the Decor isnt great this is probably one of the best hole-in-the-wall Chinese Restaurants in Langley. I usually only have take out here, but prices are more then reasonable, food portions are good and when they say it will be ready in ten minutes, they mean ten minutes. If your expecting amazing 5-star cuisine then why are you going out for Chinese food? If you looking for great Chinese Food because then this is the place.

There should be a prefix to the part where it says Chinese Food and that word should be Underwhelming. My brother liked the sweet and sour. Me, not so much.
