We had a huge Christmas luncheon and ordered food from Zythos. Everything was so tasty, warm and we had enough leftovers for most of us to go back for seconds and then some. Thank you to Zythos for making us a memorable lunch menu. We will definitely be ordering from you again!
I hadn't had Greek food in a while, and this place reminded me just how awesome it is. The wait staff were super friendly, and the food was excellent. I'll definitely be returning soon. Prices were very reasonable as well—overall you can't go wrong if you want Greek food :)
First time trying this restaurant and it was to celebrate a birthday. We ordered some appies and for mains, our table had dishes with each protein so we could try them all! Lamb, prawns, chicken, and beef. All were super tasty. Came with a huge serving of salad for each person. Our server was friendly and helped made it feel like a special dinner at the end to wrap up the dine in experience on a high note. The PLUS was all their meats that night had the option for Halal available!! Such a bonus! Will be coming back! Great portions, well made, nicely decorated and clean inside, and good service! PS!! I forgot to take pics of half the dishes! We all dug in too fast!
I recently had an incredibly disheartening experience at Zythos Mediterranean Grill in Port Kells. It is with great disappointment that I express my complete lack of recommendation for this establishment. From unhygienic practices to disrespectful treatment, my visit left a lasting negative impression. Upon entering the restaurant, I observed three customers waiting for their meals at a table. As I stood at the bar, waiting to pay and receive my order totaling $110, I was approached by an older lady. In a hushed voice, she whispered, "I wouldn't eat here. Look how disgusting that is!" She pointed to the owner, who was using a mop to wipe down the fan above the grill, with food still cooking directly below it. This unhygienic act raised serious concerns about the potential for cross-contamination. In light of what I had witnessed, I politely approached a waiter and expressed my apprehension about paying for the food. As expected, he laughed at me and directed me to speak with the owner, who was conveniently seated nearby, eavesdropping on our conversation. To my utter dismay, the owner greeted me with a smirk and callously stated, "That's just how we clean here," as if my concerns were unwarranted. His mocking attitude made me feel unheard and invalidated. Attempting to explain the gravity of the situation, I emphasized that I have two children who depend on me for their meals. I expressed my deep discomfort in feeding them food that had been handled in such an unsanitary manner. However, the owner continued to dismiss my concerns and laugh in my face, showing a complete lack of empathy. Faced with such disrespectful treatment, I made the decision to leave the restaurant immediately. It is crucial to shed light on the unhygienic practices I witnessed at Zythos Mediterranean Grill. Cleaning the fan above the grill while there is raw food actively cooking below it is a clear violation of basic food safety and sanitation standards. This lack of regard for hygiene puts customers at risk of consuming contaminated food, which can lead to serious health issues. Moreover, I must highlight the unsettling reactions I encountered during my visit. Before entering the restaurant to address my concerns about payment, I had a conversation with another customer named Mariam. She claimed to be a frequent customer who knows the owner personally. I shared the video footage I had captured and explained the situation to her. Surprisingly, Mariam initially downplayed the issue, assuring me that the establishment is clean and that I should proceed to pick up my food. She even advised me to delete the video and refrain from posting it online, citing potential negative consequences for the business. It is important to note that the waiter and the owner seemed to be aware of my intentions before I even approached them. This suggests that Mariam may have informed them about our conversation, further adding to the distrust and lack of transparency that I experienced as a paying customer. In conclusion, my visit to Zythos Mediterranean Grill was marred by unhygienic practices, disrespectful treatment, and unsettling reactions. It is my firm belief that the uncleanliness of the establishment and the disregard for customer concerns should never be tolerated. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this restaurant to anyone, as the health and well-being of customers should always be the top priority.
We came with a large group of 3 families to celebrate high school graduation commencement. The staff were so very nice and food was delicious! We normally order take out and this was my first time dining inside. I will definitely dine inside again in the future! Thank you!
I hate to leave a negative review, but the food here was nearly inedible. I have never had an issue when ordering Spanakopita before at any restaurant, but I got maybe 3 bites of this one down before having to quit. The phyllo was incredibly undercooked, and I was hard-pressed to see any feta (if there even was any) mixed with the spinach. I have also never had spicy tzatziki (very heavy on the garlic and considered spicy by white people tzatziki, yes. Spicy tzatziki? Never.) until I had this restaurant's tzatziki. Their pita is also not even what I would consider pita, it's more so like a crusty hamburger bun. I'm hoping this was just a bad night for the kitchen, but after this visit, I will find it hard to return. I gave two stars as the issue is only with the food, but why else go to a restaurant and pay these prices if not for the food?

Got the Prawn Souvlaki and Lamb Souvlaki. Lamb was bland, rice only tasted of lemon and potato had no flavour. Didn t come with tzatziki or maybe was forgotten on delivery. Shame, had high hopes for this place based on reviews. Prices are high, and food should taste as such.
Just had Zythos cater our company holiday party and the food/presentation was great! Highly recommend if you want to grab a quick bite or to cater your next party!

Exceptional! We went here for the first time last night thinking that it was just another Greek restaurant. I was blown away by the food! The moussaka and tzatziki were delicious! The Greek salad was very fresh. The lamb was not chewy at all and was great. The only downside is that its far from downtown Vancouver :( Would definitely love to come here again.
Im not one to hyperbole but this is the best Greek Restaurant in the Surrey/ Langley area. Im a regular customer & the food is consistently delicious & well prepared. Polite & courteous service, atmosphere & plentiful parking. If youre ever in the Port Kells, Walnut Grove area try the lunch menu. Excellent value for your money. $20 for a tender Beef Souvlaki meal. You wont be disappointed

The roast lamb shoulder is incredible, melts in your mouth, delicious flavor, and tasty browning on the edge! I never get tired of this. The whole meal is delicious. Well keep coming back, and well tell our friends ...Mmmm

The lamb chops were delicious but we were disappointed with the lamb shank. It was not fresh for sure and lack seasoning. The rice and vegetable all lack seasoning.

I was craving lasagna, my bf recommended their lasagna. I ordered it, and it was awful, very greasy and tasteless. A mix of grease/oil and bland tomato sauce, no flavourful spices or anything tasty at all . I took about 5 bites, and could not go any further.. I was very disappointed and went home hungry. Never again..

Well here we go, Im visiting Zythos since 2013 on a regular basis when ever Im in Langley and Im telling you I absolutely never had any bad experience at Zythos. The soups are fresh and homemade so as the salads and the food in general!! Everything is seasoned to perfection for my taste ;-) The desserts are a dream especially Ek Mek is my favorite, of course all served by my favorite Waitress ;-) and the whole Zythos team is great friendly, helpful everytime! If Zythos would have their own restaurant chain they would easily kick the B...ts from Mc.. and those other foodplaces!! Again it is always nice to stop by at Zythos and have some really great food I enjoy it every time :-) Ok Folks here we go again. Was forced ( in a very positive way ) to stop by at Zythos again last Saturday and I ordered the Homemade Dolmathes and I made an exception and ordered also Red Wine it was the House Wine which I ordered and everything was delicious and just perfect just loved it :-) I will definitely order the Homemade Dolmathes again next time when I stop by and I guess the Red House Wine is one of my favorites now if my favorite Server bring me the Wine again with her gorgeous smile ;-) Jesus It was so awesome! Cant wait to stop again and enjoy every minute there! :-) I was at Zythos 2 days ago and my food was really awesome and service was really awesome too its never ever a disappointment to stop at Zythos and enjoy their fresh Food oh and of course the EkMek and the fresh salad! And I put it that way, everyone who DOESNT STOP at Zythos and Dine in ,doesnt know at all what good food is!! Cant wait to stop by again :-)

The low key entrance and exterior made me worry a little bit, but we were quickly greeted by the friendly waitress and seated by the cozy fireplace. 5 adults here we wanted to try everything so decided to go for the zytho platter (meat based) and the seafood platter. Each platter comes with salads and rice / potatoes. Both actually turn out amazing! All the grill meats were cooked to perfection and not dry at all. and the zytho also has a little eggplant lasagna sample which I love. The seafood platter comes with pretty much our all time favorites - garlic shrimps, scallops, salmon, calamari. Generous amount of food, 2 platters for 5 of us was enough leaving with a full satisfied stomach. If I may make a little wish, I wish the menu could have pictures! most of the dishes have exotic names I can t quite picture what they are. A little visual would have speed up the ordering process. Must try! We will be back soon. Thanks for your wonderful service too.

Absolutely adore Zythos! The service has consistently been prompt in my few experiences there, with servers always greeting us with friendly smiles. Our go-to are their platters everything tastes fantastic. It has become a favorite meetup spot for my friend group, conveniently situated in the middle for all of us. The atmosphere is charming; the fireplace in the center creates a comforting vibe, the large artwork on the back wall adds character, and the high ceilings adorned with dark beams give the space a unique touch from above.

Weve done both delivery and dine-in over the years and have always had great experiences. Its one of our favorites.
Tried this place out for the first time. Service was great. Think we had every server in the restaurant wait on us at some point. Food came out fast and hot. Ordered the Mediterranean platter. Most of the food was delicious. Only issue we had was the calamari was super dry and over cooked and the ekmek was swimming in syrop and was covered in burnt almonds. Nothing we brought up to the establishment as we considered it a minor issue.

Got the family meal to go. Was a lot of food for my family of 4 including 2 kids. It was very tasty. The chicken wasnt dry and had a lot of flavour. Lamb wasnt dry either. I recommend this place for great Greek food.

I have been coming here for over 30 years on and off but more so the last 12 years since Im working back in Port Kells. I usually do the chicken souvlaki, calamari that kind of stuff, but today I did the baked lasagna. 10/10 This family run restaurant is one of the best Greek restaurant I have ever been too, and the service is great!
So impressed! Not only was the food amazingly flavourful and cooked to perfection, the customer service was above and beyond. I originally had reservations booked for dinner, but had to change them to delivery due to circumstances. At first, I was told that I was too far away (outside of their delivery area), but then I received a call back from the restaurant saying that they had discussed the situation with their driver. The driver said he would drive our order out to us for no extra charge as we originally had reservations but most of the family could not make to the location. I was delighted! Gotta be brief. Food was good, but not the greatest. Tzatziki was probably from SYSCO or GFS, lamb was slightly under seasoned but to add? Fresh veggies for the salad. Beer tasted awesome as always. The late but great Eberts .

Nice little location tucked away, with a nice hostess, cook, and owner. The service was very pleasant. The interior was clean and comfortable, and the food was delicious. Greek salad was refreshing, especially with the balsamic viniger dressing splashed on top. I had the lamb souvalki which was awesome, and the wife had the grilled chicken breast, which was juicy and tender. I will definitely be going back again.

Really great place! We went there with a group of 19 people to celebrate a birthday with family. The food was delicious and reasonably priced and the waitress serving us was absolutely fantastic. That food made me cry, in a good sense. Why didn t I had such tasty food when I was in Greece?! Thanks to owner and all the personnel for unforgettable experience, special thanks to chef ! Lamb was just melting in the mouth! Garlic sauce was a cherry on top of the cake. Even though this place doesn t look attractive from outside, it s a hidden gem you just have to go inside. The food at this restaurant is fantastic... I had the chicken souvlaki with rice and a mixed salad. The restaurant was very busy during my visit, and the wait times were fairly long. Lunch was a 45 minute wait. I get it and was fine with it. My only complaint was the waitress was wearing flip flops... Not very hygienic or professional.

Food was not up to the standards of other great Greek Restaurants in the lower main land. -Rice, bland. -Potatoes, just tasted like roast potatoes no nice lemon flavour. -Meat (chicken and lamb), overcooked and chewy. -Greek Salad, oily. Would not recommend.

Its my first time trying Greek food and they are delicious. We chose to get their Greek dishes which are served with Greek salad, rice, roast potato, tzatziki and pita. The servings are huge and are definitely worth paying for. We ended up with some leftovers that we had packed to go. Thats how full we were with just this meal.
Unassuming, greek restaurant in an industrial area. The platters are pretty decent. Okay value, standard experience, and ambiance (clean, no grime, bright, busy on a Tuesday evening). Owner is Greek, our server was pleasant and managed to keep up even with 5 tables coming in one after the other.
Went there at 8:30 on a friday night, they informed us they close at 9 pm...on a friday! We left.

First time ordering from here spent $220.00 on dinner for the family on take out food had no flavour. Chicken Parmasean was either raw or way over cooked that I could not even cut it with a knife absolutely disgusting. I m sorry to say but I won t be returning as there is better Greek places around.

My wife and I ordered 2 Calimari Dinners on July 22 2023 to go, First thing it was like chewing a rubber tire, second I found a peice of plastic wrapped around 1 of the peices. Called and spoke with the manager and first he said was some people like it chewy, (seriously nobody like rubbery Squid lol) second he tried telling me maybe its one of its bones lol. Seriously squid does not have bones lol. Squid are members of the phylum Mollusca, which contains invertebrate animals. They do not have spinal cords or bones. Squids are cephalopods, which means that have their arms attached to their heads. So my suggestion is know what your talking about before telling customers the wrong answers. But they did credit our meals and today we both ordered prawn dinners and they are very good.

The server was nice but the food was tasteless. Probably the most bland Greek food we ve ever had. They didn t use any of the traditional spices. No chicken broth used to cook the rice, potato wasn t very lemony, hummus just tasted like chickpeas, tzatziki didn t have enough garlic, calamari wasn t spiced, and the roast lamb was very chewy without much spicing, just salt and pepper. We had a delicious dinner at Zythos authentic Greek food. I am a South African living in Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories and visiting Langley. I eat a lot of lamb in Cape Town and want to commend the chef for excellent tender Shoulder of Lamb..fall off the bone !!! What a treat. Also enjoyed the most yummy custardy Ek Mek dessert topped with toasted slivered almonds! A must if you live in Langley!
First visit to Zythos on a Tuesday night and they were busy. Must be a local favorite. Large portion of salad, rice, and protein. Lamb chops were cooked very well. Chicken was juicy and well cooked. Only wanted their tzatziki to be thicker and more garlicky. Would have preferred their potatoes to be more sour and rice to be softer as it tasted a tad undercooked. Extra veggies weren t necessary as they were just steamed and didnt add any flavour to the dish. Overall I will visit again though! Service was excellent
Weve dined in and ordered take out several times at Zythos and the food has been consistently good. We used to go all the way to Burnaby for SOCRATES in the Heights but this place now trumps as our top spot for Greek food!

Excellent Food and Service as always
We came here for a quick lunch during work. Our group of 10 was seated and served promptly. The food was good and the portions were very generous for the price. I would definitely return.

The restaurant itself feels nice, spacious, and airy. We were there for Friday night dinner at around 6:30pm or so and there were lots of empty tables still. Service was very friendly from the moment they sat you down to you getting your food. The calamari appetizer was actually pretty good with enough seasoning and tender batter, but the tzatziki we found was too thick. Their portion was actually very generous! The platters came with the biggest Greek salad weve ever come across with. Where I think they fell short at is the main entrees themselves. My chicken souvlaki was pretty dry and bland. My husbands lamb was much better. It was still more on the bland side but at least wasnt dry. I like that the bread came warm and toasty, but its almost as if they were griddled for too long that they became too dry and crispy. Overall, 3.5 stars. You certainly would have enough leftovers to take home though!
A true gem right in the heart of Port Kells. We work in Port Kells & have been coming to Zythos for lunch for years now. The food is always fresh, hot & incredible. It can get busy at lunch but well worth the wait...its hands down The BEST Greek food in the Fraser Valley. The dining room is cozy & the staff and management make you feel so welcomed. Cant say enough good things about Zythos. If we could give Zythos 6 stars we would. Kudos Zythos...dont change a thing!

Thanks Zythos, I made a reservation last week to make sure you would be open for today at 1:15 for my son s Birthday. We came in from Abbotsford to celebrate the b-day with some Greek food. We came to the door and wow .closed for the day because of the stat day. Hey Zythos, it would have been nice to get a phone call when you change plans Sincerely .. not impressed

Great server looked after our Birthday party of 24, never missed a thing and very friendly! She had set up a private room for us. Food is really tasty, my roasted lamb was way more tender than I expted and was a HUGE portion of meat. She accomodated my Gluten intolerance for things I didnt expect. The GF substitutions arent all the menu but my server was great, she talkled to the chefs to have mine made special. I was actually able to order the calamari, (which is usually coated in wheat flour) and it was really good, (even if a bit too salty). Dietary restrictions: Fodmap, Gluten and onion/garlic allergies were accomodated. Parking: Have their own free parking lot. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair reserved parking outside front door. No disability button to open the door and tiny door sill to get over but everything on ground level. Didnt check out the washrooms for accessibility
Its been 6 years since Ive had Greek and Im so glad I chose Zythos! Though it was a takeout, the restaurant had a very comforting atmosphere. The server was very attentive and polite. Food was just the perfect size and I would highly recommend them!
Very cozy Mediterranean restaurant in the neighbourhood. The pine-infused white wine, ISANTALIS-RETSINA -GREECE, is very unique and might require an acquired taste. But boy their charcoal grilled lamb chop is finger licking good

Great restaurant with attentive staff. Wine is affordable and platters are outstanding and plentiful. Great place to end the day. Lots parking and have a private room for birthdays and groups.

Came in for first time with my family for a dinner for the 6 of us. Great service from waitress and manager who then took over as they weren t super busy! Portions were amazing, chicken skewers were huge about 10 pieces of juicy chicken. Greek salad was my fav. Also a reasonable price for full dinner $20 for full souvlaki, salad, potato, rice, bread and tatziki, none of us could finish our dinner. Calamari was amazing, lightly breaded not chewy or heavy! Will definitely be coming back here!

Amazing customer service from the moment you walk in the door. Instead of them telling you without a reservation you cant come in, they are the total opposite, they make it work, which was extremely refreshing. The servers were super attentive and friendly. The owner makes the effort to do a round and say hi and check in on the food. The Greek salad was very good. Food was simple but delicious, portions are great, came out hot, fresh, and quickly. The best part is how affordable it is! All and all super happy with this service, as you dont see it anymore. Found my new favorite Greek spot!

A little expensive but the food was great, portions were fair and they were very friendly. We had the roast lamb and the Greek ribs. Both were A+. The Saganaki was decent too, but a little smaller portion for what we paid for. All the food tasted amazingly well, not over spiced to really let the subtle flavours blend in.
Super friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The greek potatoes and chicken souvlaki was not as flavorful as others but it is a recommendable date night place. The lamb portions are huge. :)
Food was very bland and expensive, kalamari was inedible. We did not even finish it :( Quality of the meal was disappointing.

More of a home style type restaurant. The staff was friendly and prompt with our orders but the food lacked the zest. Not saying it was bad but mediocre.
Pro: Extremely kind folks, and the best marinara sauce in the area! Seriously, spaghetti, chicken Parmesan, Lasagna, ect, youll probably want to get those here. Con: some of the other dishes dont fare quite as well. Theres at least 1 place not far away that does them larger, better, and also cheaper. Will definitely come here often for the meat sauce.

If you like Greek food you should try Zythos. The Lamb was very juicy and tasty. Ordered the Family Special #2 - with Roast Lamb, Souvlaki dinner, Baked Lasagna, Caesar Salads and added calamari. Everything was great except calamari which was soggy in the takeout box. Overall a great experience with Greek food. Would definitely recommend this place, if u like Greek food.

This place is absolutely fantastic. Prices are very good especially for what you get. The owner ALWAYS comes to each table to make sure everything was good and says thank you. This is our family and many friends favorite GO TO place to eat and celebrate all special occasions. Nothing bad to say about this place....

The food and service were excellent. Its far from home, but I plan to visit often. There is a taste and atmosphere that comes to mind over and over again. I highly recommend it.

I ordered a prawn souvlaki from ubereats here and the rice was waaaaay undercooked, I felt like chewing on hard rubber! I m not sure if they rushed it or forgot to measure the water right, but very disappointing that they charge you $26 for a meal like this! Everything else on the plate was mediocre but the rice . I ve had better experience at Opa fast food greek place than here. I would appreciate better quality food than speedy delivery.

Excellent food. We had a large gathering and ordered takeout. The food was excellent. The chicken was nice and juicy. The salad was flavourful. The rice was very tasty. I highly recommend this place.

They got better for take out orders.. I have not tried much food here except appetizers which was okay!

Went there for dinner with 6 girlfriends, food was tasty, stuff very friendly and owner came by every table to greet his guests, which I found to be a nice touch. Will come back for sure.
We celebrated my husbands 40th birthday tonight at Zythos with a party of 11 which included 4 kids. We have had a number of successful family dinners here but this one needed a stellar review. The meals were picky with substitutions, ingredient exclusions and extra sides. Not only did everything come out perfectly but our server (Brie-Anne) was friendly to both adults and kids, attentive and just a generally nice human. We always recommend Zythos through word of mouth but hope this review encourages others to support this great small business.

Very nice atmosphere ,had the ribs very tender my friends had the lamb ,awesome. Staff was great,friendly and always with smiles.will go again to eat next time I will try the lamb.
