Lots of excellent beers available on tap or flights with a combination of great food. They also have daily specials on food. The dirty bird sandwich was on point and i would definitely recommend this place.
Great service in a venue with cool atmosphere, lively vibes, a vast menu for a brewpub with an impressive Canadian Whiskey line up that does whiskey flights. The only thing more impressive is their even more vast line up of 50 beer selections! Prices are fair, and portions are adequate. Place was remarkably clean as well. Great place to get together for game night (Canucks opening game tonight was broadcast), or a great dining option before/after a movie as a large movie theatre is literally next door. Enjoyed my experience here and will make this a repeat place to go.
I love this restaurant! As someone with celiac disease, surprisingly their menu and substitutions mean that I can have a safe, delicious chicken burger and dessert. After moving I was so sad to leave this place behind but I get over now enough that I will continue to go there as much as possible. Pictured is the delicious Dirty Bird with Filthy Fries. So good!
From a celiac/gluten-free perspective, this was an absolutely exceptional experience. Not a dedicated facility, but they have dedicated fryers and are extremely knowledgeable. Food is clearly marked on the menu and the GF buns are brilliant. We had a feast of the filthy fries, regular fries, yam fries, Dirty Bird and Brisket Sandwich - all were exceptional. Can’t wait to come back and try other elements of the menu.
I don't normally love brewery food but this place has the BEST brisket sandwich I have ever had! The meat was so saucy and fatty, it was absolutely delicious. I also shared the beer cheese dip which had a nice beer flavor and came with both nachos and pita bread. Again, one of the best beer cheese dips I have had. Unfortunately the clam chowder was a disappointment. It had nice presentation and tons of ingredients but it tasted like water, and there was not enough liquid to solid pieces ratio. I do not recommend the clam chowder. The fries were also soft and tasted old. Would have preferred if they were fresh, hot, and crispy. The food and drinks menu here is huge so I do want to come back and try more things! Staff were very nice and attentive. Lots of seating inside with dorm patio space. Tons of parking.
Been here a couple of times. I will say the drink options are great if you like BC craft beer or whiskey. The food is incredible. They have their own twists on the food but it’s always got great flavour. The baked Brie and the London fog Crème brûlée 🍮 is so yummy. The patio is a wonderful space as well
A very nice place! Large patio with a lot of seats and a good indoor seating. Reasonable prices. Food is very good. Great service and friendly waiters. All of the serving staff were very helpful and friendly and checked up on your table even though they were not serving your table. They have a very large selection of beers to choose from and .
Just stopped here by chance, and thought why not Walking in it's a nice expansive area, looks clean and inviting. We were seated right away into a booth that overlooked the bar. I always disliked it when I look at the back of four managerial type people working on their laptops. People come to a place like this to get away from the office not to look at its back... Anyhow, they didn't have my favorite Fat Tug however I ordered a house IPA that was quite tasty. The only real reason this place gets a low reading from me is because of the staff. Starting off looking at the back of all the people sitting at the bar that are all wearing Merchant aprons, then the young person serving our table, well she didn't take into the fact that we just sat down, and she was dismissive, bordering in impatient. Ma is 83, read your audience better. We ordered two burgers, I had the bacon cheeseburger. Too much pickle juice in the burger caused her bun to become a soppy soaking mess, I think I ate mine too quickly for that to happen. They are messy perhaps drain the pickle juice a bit more before creating the burger. That aside I enjoyed the burger, and we always asked "would you come back?" No, unfortunately we won't. But do give it a try, maybe this was a one-off, you can be the judge of that!
Nothing but positive vibes here!
very loud, hard to talk to the person beside you but the food makes up for it
A friend recommended going here.. amazing menu and drinks. Customer service was good too
The chicken appetizer is delicious, the charcuterie board was a little bit disappointing. The chicken burger was too spicy for me but my fiance loved his, Ill go for something else next time, but the flavors were still yummy! Good gluten free options!!! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free fried chicken!
Had a Christmas event here. Food was incredible, beer was delicious as always, service was great! Such a great place to reconnect and enjoy friends. Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free options from beer to food!
Food and drink were excellent and how they handled many people arriving all at once after the power outage was phenomenal
They have a lot of options for gluten free! My mom loves coming here because she can actually eat. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is nice. Great place to go with friends to watch a sporting event! Dietary restrictions: Great for people who are gluten free !
The food is absolutely delicious and there are a decent amount of vegetarian options! Service is super good. Love how many beer options are on tap and the beer is always crisp and proper cold temp. Highly recommend!
We love this place. The service is good and the food comes fast. Didnt love the chowder but we are fish forward people. Found the wings to be soggy and tasteless but everything else was really good. Husband had a triple burger which was amazing, and the dirty fries were so good. Roman salad was ok.
An enjoyable experience. Service was great even though we had to initially wait about 20 mins to be seated. Some food was delicious some not so much. Four of us mostly liked our dishes with some exceptions. Fish chowder was delightful. The cauliflower appetiser was very dry and bland. Would give this place a second chance though for sure. (Maybe not on Canucks game night).
Vegetarian options: you can filter the menu by dietary restrictions and each menu item has a suggestion of modification you can make for veg, vegan, dairy or gluten free which is so nice Dietary restrictions: you can filter the menu by dietary restrictions and each menu item has a suggestion of modification you can make for veg, vegan, dairy or gluten free which is so nice Wheelchair accessibility: accessible. patio has ramps to main restaurant and bathrooms on main level with wide space by stalls
Loud but lively. Food was good. Ben the server was chatty and helpful so we had some food banter. The waiting system is good as well, got a text when our table was ready.
Great selection of beers and ciders with a range of styles. Excellent food and service as well.
I enjoyed the whole experience, and this is from the last three times of going there in a year. It makes for a good social, the atmosphere, the great selection of beer, and food was all spot on. The flat bread was awesome, and the service was great. Thanks
Great time! Delicious food. Great beer selection
Fabulous choice of beer and ciders in a light bright airy space with attentive friendly wait staff. Food was a B+, better than average for a pub restaurant. I will go back for sure.
Great local singer / live music and the most friendly servers around !!! Korean prawns, beer cheese and burgers to die for ! Skip the creme brûlée it s alright Food
Ok if you are looking for a place to meet a big group. Food is decent but not great.
Food is always great. Staff are awesome and the beer selection is unmatched.
Server was slow, not really paying attention. The picnic tables were extremely uncomfortable. But they food was really really good. Will go again but wait for a booth.
Do you love beer? Although beer isn t the only choice, this is definitely the spot for every kind of beer lover! They have so many delicious brews to choose from you ll be sure to make this place your favourite! To top that off their food menu has a bit of everything for almost every pallet including gluten free options. Their wide open floor plan, comfy bar and a cozy patio is perfect for a party of one or a large group of friends! Excellent value too! I ll definitely be back.
Fantastic selection of tasty, local beers! Food was also super good. Vegetarian options: Theyre very accommodating of any allergies, dietary preferences, and intolerances! We had someone with celiac, someone allergic to dairy, and someone vegetarian in our party and their needs were all met! Dietary restrictions: Theyre very accommodating of any allergies, dietary preferences, and intolerances! We had someone with celiac, someone allergic to dairy, and someone vegetarian in our party and their needs were all met!
Waitress recommended us to try their fries as we needed a snack. They were superb and exactly what we needed. Beer selection was great as well
The Food was great and excellent Service by Mackenna for our networking group event we hosted on the patio at The Barley Merchant. Since they always do a great job its an excellent choice of venue for any size group from a table of 4 to the closed event we had 140 people for last year.
Very good service, but my food was only ok. I had the beer cheese, and it was good, but nothing special. Also had the smoked brisket and bacon craft mac and cheese. It lacks creaminess and flavor. I had to add my leftover beer cheese as the macaroni was dry and flavorless. I would not order the Mac and cheese again, but if in the mood, I would try the beer cheese again.
Good place. Id return again.
Excellent beer and food
The service here is far above average. The food is right up there with the service. 5 stars. Come and try for yourself. You will be glad you did!
This place is awesome. Super underrated and honestly great food. Brisket Sando w/yam fries and dill sauce is always amazing. The whole menu is great. Really good service, too. We will put this in the top 20 restaurants from surrey to abbotsford. Ps-beer selection is also
Very underrated place!! I ve visited here 4 times now, ranging between 2-6 people, and each time it has been great. The food is delicious, there are lots of great beers on tap, and the service is super friendly. I highly recommend Barley Merchant if you re looking for a fun place to hang out with great food
Brooke and Ben were amazing servers. I will be back because of them, and the amazing food.
Great food Even better beer and the service was outstanding
Brew Pub type atmosphere. Nice selection of gluten free food options. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free food options. Food : 5/5 |
Great massive selection & superb service aswell. For a strong Ales selection this place feeds my cravings & appetite with good foods too. Very Angry Scotch Ale my favorite!
Great food. Go early if you value a quieter environment
The service, food and beer selection were all amazing! Cant wait to go back.
This place is dope! Loved the vibe Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options Food : 5/5 |
I think we have all accepted that restaurant food prices in BC have become significantly higher than they have ever been, $20+ for an entree is standard for many restaurants with starter prices creeping up to meet them. I must admit that I was highly disappointed with my Chorizo Gnocchi during my latest visit to The Barley Merchant, the gnocchi itself was mushy and lacking in texture, the vegetables and sausage were ok and the portion size was comical for the price. I appreciate their attempt to get 50 BC created craft beers on tap with many interesting options but somewhat underwhelmed by the staff and their ability to suggest or talk about aspects of the selection. Our server was good overall but was not knowledgeable on the beer selection. I think this is my 4th visit to this establishment and there is one piece that stands out above all else, it has been designed in a way that it is incredibly noisy, I have sit in multiple areas of this restaurant/bar and I have always found myself shouting at the people I am with. I prefer Smugglers or Jimmy Macs!
What a lovely experience. The food was fresh, delicious and different than your regular pub food. The beer selection is vast and interesting. Jess and Josh were entertaining, engaging and helpful...they know why they were helpful (wink wink) Thanks for a lovely time.
Great place in the evening. It was busy and very lively. Great atmosphere. Got seat at the bar, got served quickly. Good tasted great. Prefer the evening atmosphere than at lunchtime. So far its been great. Friend from Ontario thought it was a very good place. He was impressed.
Good place to go, but due to the open concept, it can be very noisy.
Great gluten-free options! Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free Food : 5/5 |
Truly disappointing first visit. Came early for happy hour. First impression - very loud when not yet half full. Seated in quiet corner under outside extended room. Still had to shout across table. Food was subpar. Had beer cheese with pita and corn chips. Cheese was weird consistency and taste for dipping (have had other places). Pita chips were over heated, dry and hard. Guest had flatbread dish, which arrived just like a pizza. It was OK, but bread/crust over chewy. We arrived just before rain storm and were dripped on during visit. Waitress and manager came to look at, as a few tables had water drip on them. No comp. No coupon or other for return visit. Only plus was long tables for large groups....if you want to shout with your company.
Always a great place to go after work. The ever changing taps are consistently great - staff are always friendly and helpful.
Great beer, food need a lot of of work
We werent there long, but the atmosphere was great and the place itself is pleasant and interesting. There was a huge range of beers and the staff were polite, pleasant and helpful.
Great place for drinks and food. Service was great and they have so many beers on tap. Prices are reasonable too. Nice atmosphere and plenty of parking
We had over 50 people on the patio all standing and ordering food and drinks. We had celiacs and it was crazy! The team had everything set up perfectly. The service was excellent. They managed our bill incredibly well, they also had great food and drinks! 12/10 recommend Dietary restrictions: Their gluten free options are great! Even their friers dont have any gluten in them!
We have hosted multiple events there. Every time has been a home run. The staff are all amazing at their jobs, the food is terrific and it s a great space. Will keep coming back!
Great addition to Langley, lots of beer on tap (50), has cocktails, spirits, cider and wine selections. Food is delish. Very friendly staff. I think the owner (very tall guy) said hi and conversed with us for a few minutes. Lots of space both inside and outside.
So often came here prior to movies to grab a burger but the one thing I use to love were the Korean Skewers. Without any mention they have changed the shrimp/prawn to this and I gotta say, pretty disappointed. Id be less annoyed if something was said but clearly looking back at older photos theyve done this to save a buck. Shame.
From the menu and beverage listing online, we were really looking forward to a good dining experience here. Immediately you come in (this was a Tuesday evening) you sense the lively atmosphere. We were seated fairly quickly (FYI: they dont take resos for less than 8), but we quickly noticed how loud the noise level was. Four of us were basically yelling at each other across the table to be heard. We had a round of drinks then decided it just wasnt conducive to visiting/talking, so left. Thus no food rating. (I have a decibel monitor on the phone; noisy restaurants Ive been to before are usually in the 85-90 db range; this was peaking over 110 db. Dont know how the servers were getting through an evening of yelling at patrons for orders!) So be warned about the noise level here. Perhaps well try another time when hopefully we can talk at the table!
I have to eat gluten free. They have lots of gluten free options and are very knowledgeable and reassuring about handling allergies. I had the pear and beet salad. So good. And the awards cider was excellent; nice and dry, just how I like it. We will be back! Dietary restrictions: Excellent gluten free options. I felt safe.
Happened across this establishment after recommendations from friends & colleagues , we were seated promptly during the dinner rush at 6pm. After reading the reviews I would 100% recommend the Mac & cheese with farmer sausage. This dish is a contentious topic amongst other reviewers because they use beer cheese and my wife and I took a leap of faith. It resembled a gouda flavor and it didnt last long on the table. Other dishes like the carnivore flatbread were savory treats.
Really nice place with a variety of beers. Clean washrooms and tasty food Food
Great beer selection and food was great also. Found it a bit loud to have a conversation with someone, but otherwise a great place
Stay away from the clam chowder or you will suffer at 3am, and 4am, and 6am, and most of the next day. It was served luke-warm, which is the temp that bacteria grows the fastest. Bacteria + seafood = nausea and diarrhea. My friend ordered a burger, it was ok. The server picked 4 good beers based on my preferance. BUT STAY AWAY FROM THE CHOWDER
Worst experience in all the time we ve been coming here. Manager was on the floor and still service was nil
Went there with my friends. Was not entertained for more than 15 mins, had to ask someone to call the server. Looks like white peoples brewery where browns are not entertained. Really bad service. Will not suggest this brewery to anyone. Would give 0 star if I could.
Great place to hangout. Huge selection of BC beers
Its very very very very very loud in there. Stressful and anxiety inducing... This isnt a safe place for a quiet after work meal, on a weekday.
We will be back. Friendly service. Food is ok depending on what it is. Its a tad on the expensive side but still within reason.
Excellent food menu: lots of gluten free food options with a dedicated fryer to avoid cross contamination. They always have one gluten free beer on their purpose dedicated beer tap. Staff very friendly and attentive. Location is easy to get to and ample parking.
We recently hosted a corporate retirement lunch at the Barley Merchant and reserved the entire outdoor patio. Right from the first email when I sent an inquiry about the establishment and what they had to offer their response was quick and eager to assist me with ally requirements. I ordered an assortment of appetizers from their catering menu and every dish was outstanding! All the guests commented on the presentation and quality of the food. The service was absolutely exceptional right from the moment I got there to set up. Hands down on of the best service I have recieved on a corporate event. I definitely highly recommend this establishment for small events we will definitely be booking more there. Thank you to everyone that was involved in making this day special for us !
We had some friends from Vancouver. We brought them to The Barley Merchant. Dawson was an excellent server. He knew the menu well, gave great recommendations and personal service. We will be making The Barley Merchant a regular stop now thanks to Dawson! Give this man a raise.
Great food and even better service!
Riley was are server and she was super! Made our evening special. This was our first time here, it was a Tuesday and the place was packed. They had a singer that was awesome. We were on the patio which could use a speaker to hear the singer, maybe some hanging baskets for the patio. Overall we had a great time and we will return. They have done a great job
Was ok. The serving woman didnt make a great effort compared to others. But its actually okay. But the beer per se was good.
Tasty food and amazing drinks!!! Highly recommend.
The Barley Merchant Taproom & Kitchen is a standout spot that combines fantastic food, a welcoming atmosphere, and an incredible selection of drinks. One of the highlights is their music, which perfectly complements the lively ambiance. Whether youre there for a casual dinner or a night out with friends, the music sets the perfect tone for a great time. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the menu offers a wide variety of delicious options that cater to all tastes. If youre looking for a place to relax, enjoy great music, and have a memorable dining experience, The Barley Merchant Taproom & Kitchen is the place to be. Highly recommended
Really delicious food. Enjoyed their burgers and filthy fries. A good kids menu too. The pizzas are delish!
The service was fair, and the waitress was helpful, but several mistakes were made with my order, from drinks to the main meal. I asked for a ribeye, but she brought me a brisket sandwich. However, their pear beet salad was great. She did offer to exchange the meal, but by that point, the food was already on the table. There was no compensation or discount on the bill. We decided to give them another chance, and Im glad we did. The food met our expectations, and everything went smoothly. Since then, we have returned a few more times.
Lots of great gluten free food options. The filthy fries are my favorite. My girlfriend loves the BC salmon tacos. They always seem to have around 8 rotating local ciders on tap and even a mainstay gluten free beer option! Always an enjoyable time
Finally made it to the Merchant. What a pleasant surprise! Nice room with good atmosphere. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Nice to see a nice selection of wines as my wife is not a beer drinker. had a nice flight of brews and ordered the BBQ Korean Burger. Superb!! A great combination of flavours are evidence that someone has put a lot of thought into this varied menu. I will be back for sure.
First time here. Fantastic menu, so many choices of beer but our server was very helpful in making decisions. Ill be back.
A great covered patio in the area! Food is well seasoned and there are options for veg/dairy free etc. Selection on tap is great with flights as an option for trying multiple. The dirty fries, salads, burgers and pastas are great.
Nice place to come try some beer. Busy but good service no less.
The food was delicious and I am really happy that they have a whole vegan menu! The Coriander CItrus Curry was flavourful! Vegetarian options: Vegan options Dietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten free options
I thought it had a really good selection of beers to try. The flights are the way to go to try the different ones that were on tap.
Love the Barley Merchant! We drive out from Chilliwack for the beers and food. Brisket sandwhich is to die for, so tender and flavourful. As well as the clam and corn chowder. We always like to start with the beer cheese appetizer that comes with pita bread and tortilla chips. Crazy selection of beers, ciders and even meade so there s something for everyone! I would love a location in Chilliwack!
Tawnee was absolutely fantastic! Very knowledgeable, friendly and speedy! Truly felt like a friend by the end of the meal. The dirty bird sandwhich was super yummy!
Get the pulled pork burger with filthy fries or the gnocchi and a flight of 4 of the 50 beers on tap
Excellent vibe
We have come here about 4 times now, and yes, the flights of beer and cider are way fun. Service is attentive and helpful in making decisions about selections. Food: salmon tacos were awesomely tasty, burger was too slathered in sauce that didn t do anything to enhance the flavour, fries were pretty crunchy and tasty. I only wish the noise level didn t make my ears actually hurt. With the happy customer sounds do you really need additional loud rock too? Id like to be able to hold a conversation without shouting. That would make this an outstanding hangout.
So disappointed. First time there. Coffee was cold and had to ask for new one. Didn t serve decaf coffee. Ordered the brisket sandwich and it was luke warm and hardly any meat in the sandwich. And it s very loud in there since there s nothing to absorb the noise. It s like sitting in a warehouse. Unfortunately won t be going back.
The Barley Merchant Taproom & Kitchen is a gem for anyone seeking top-notch service and exceptional gluten-free options. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming and attentive staff ensure an excellent dining experience. Their commitment to catering to gluten-free meals is evident in the diverse and delicious menu options available. The care and consideration they put into avoiding cross-contamination is commendable, making it a safe and enjoyable place for those with gluten sensitivities. The ambiance is inviting, and the wide selection of craft beers (including a GF option) perfectly complements their flavorful dishes. Highly recommended for a satisfying and worry-free meal! Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options
Service was amazing and the food was absolutely divine. As a celiac I never felt so safe and able to enjoy every bite Food
I genuinely wish I could give more than 5 starts for this place, the food was delicious there were so many amazing beers to choose from and the service was unlike anything I d ever seen before. I swear, our waitress would take our order and before I could even debrief what had just happened someone else showed up with my drink. I am beyond impressed, thank you!!!
Good selection of beer and nice atmosphere.
You have zillions of choices for beers here.
Went for happy hour, 2 small meals and 3 drinks for 65 bucks or so + tip. Not a bad place, weak happy hour though Food : 2/5
The Barley Merchant is a gem of a locally owned restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food is consistently amazing, offering a delightful array of flavors that always leave me satisfied. What truly sets them apart is their impressive selection of ever-changing taps, showcasing an extensive variety of local beers, ciders, and spirits. Its a fantastic way to support local breweries and distilleries while enjoying a delicious meal. Whether youre a beer enthusiast or simply looking for a great dining experience, The Barley Merchant delivers on all fronts. Its a must-visit spot for anyone craving exceptional food and drinks in Langley.
Food was fresh, helpings were a good size and as advertized but flavour needed a boost. Service was excellent. Servers were courteous and attentive.
Ive driven by the barley merchant tap and grill in Langley quitea few times. Recently I had the opportunity to attend a party there. What a fantastic location. First the parking is unbelievable. Second the food service and atmosphere are exactly what youd expect from a nice place. I highly recommend trying some of their specialties. They were great.
I enjoyed to be here the atmosphere is amazing. Live music awesome!
Went here after hockey around 1pm on a Friday. Not very busy. 2 people talking at the podium. Got sat at the table and completely forgotten. It was like the staff purposely went around the other way not to pass our booth. The guy who sat us walked by 2x when we finally asked for a menu. Then we sat. We said excuse us to him again ND some waitresses walking by. Just a minute. Finally after 35 min of sitting we walked out unserved. No water, no drinks, no questions and no hellos. The guy who sat us was still talking to the girl at the front and said goodbye thanks for coming. He had no idea we had not been served or where we came from. This is definitely a no go for us after hockey.
Except for small portion food everything was excellent.
Kid-friendliness: Offer kids menu Food
Great food, drinks, and service. Cant ask for more. Perfect place to hang out and get liqoured up before catching a movie at the cineplex.
The food is so good but if youre there on a night when theyre playing sports it can be impossible to have a conversation. Also wish we could make a reservation and not have to wait 45 minutes each time!
50 taps enough said
Stopped in for a late night flight of beers. Great spot! Good selection and great service. Will need to go back and try the food next time.
I liked it here. Food and beer
Best ranch dressing ive ever had. Great prices and omg the burger was so good everyone in my family ordered skmething different and everyone loved it
The barley merchant was awesome! Ive driven by it lots but never pulled in. Food was fantastic service was great what a pleasant surprise.
Absolutely phenomenal food
The food is great, service was good. However, it would have been nice to have a better atmosphere. We were there for game 6 of the Canucks Oilers. Few of us asked for the volume to be turned up since most people were there for the game but they refused. To be clear, they had the volume on for the game but you couldnt hear much. I wouldnt go back to watch a game. Unfortunate in that sense. Wish they were more accommodating.
Just had dinner there and the food was great, and so were the drinks. The service was the best service I have had at a restaurant in a while. Our server Jenny was great, very prompt and extremely friendly, and I will definitely come back just based on her service alone!
I recently visited the restaurant for the first time with my friends. We ordered the Mac and cheese and the veggie black bean burger. Unfortunately, the Mac and cheese didnt meet my expectations; it was bland yet sweet, which wasnt to my liking. However, I ended up ordering the veggie burger after, which was fantastic! It had a delicious patty with yummy toppings. Our waitress was really attentive and kindly removed the Mac and cheese from our bill. Staff were lovely & atmosphere was great!
Large, comfortable, relaxed vibe is the first impression that one gets as you walk in. Multiple seating options, including a covered patio, (heated during colder days). Plenty of selection in their alcohol menu- especially, beers & some flavorful Gin(s). The chef knows what he/she is doing & put out delicious fares, although the portion size on a few items could be better. Ask your server before if you have a doubt. Our server today was Nicki, who primarily bartends, was wonderful in every aspect of service & whose knowledge & expertise of everything spirits would impress any reveler. Thanks, Nicki!
Good food and great selection of beers, love ording the flights of beers to sample.
Great place to catch a game!
The beer is great, the steak is better and our server Jess was amazing. The music was wicked too, thanx to Evan Kennedy. Will be back for sure and recommend to EVERYONE!!
They have a wonderful selection of beer and cider here. The food is quite good but a bit overpriced, the beet salad is highly recommended. Overall a great place to grab a pint before a movie
This place have seemed to get a very busy on Fridays and Saturdays. So if youre planning to go there for dinner budget your time wisely because there will be a wait. This is a very nice place. They have a really large patio with lots of seating and a good indoor seating. The prices are very reasonable. The selection is very good. We went there as a party of six. Had Great service in great food. All of the serving staff were very helpful and friendly and checked up on your table even though they were not serving your table. They have a very large selection of beers to choose from and they also do whiskey flakes.
Amazing drinks and the food was incredible.
Mouse running around bar, food overpriced and immediately made me feel sick. Beer was good
Do not get the Mac n cheese it tastes way to cheesy and no flavour. The lemonade is mid at best. The servers are nice but they got our order wrong. The burgers are good though.
Love it here! You get delicious food and local taps from all over. I particularly love the nightshade bisque and early grey creme brulee (definitely share it between 3 or more people! It very rich) Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegan options
Great place to spend your hard earned money and enjoy your time. Food was killer and staff was great!
Beer was great, service was great, dessert was decent, but the Burger was Terrible. I had a Big Merch and the patty was dry and burnt and had no flavour. I felt like I was chewing on cardboard. Ive seriously had A&W burger that was better. Id recommend the restaurant review the type of beef patty you stock or consider making your own beef patties.
I walked, told the hostess I was there to try their beer. She said I could grab a seat at the bar. I sat at the bar. There were some other customers at the bar enjoying their beverages. There were 3 or 4 servers behind the bar. They all ignored me. They would look at me, then ignore me. I sat there for 10 minutes. I had on a torn flannel jacket (Surrey Tuxedo in the day.) I got up and told the hostess they just lost my business. I headed for good old reliable White Spot across the parking lot.
Food was ok , burger cold right from the kitchen Cheese dip was very bitter. Great selection of beer , that s why 3 stars Recommended dishes Beer and Cider
Very nice and bright inside with a great upscale look. Lots of beer options and service was good. But $18 for 10 really anemic terrible wings is just not ok even in this high inflation era. Way overpriced menu options.
Wide selection of Taps, service was great too!
Amazing food , really nice servers and fast service and most importantly cold beer !
Great food and amazing service. We were 9, including 2 children split in 3 groups arriving at different times. The team was super accommodating and friendly. The food was amazing, the beer flights made our night! Highly recommend. Kid-friendliness: Our party included a 1-year old and a 3-year old. The 3-year old enjoyed the macaroni and cheese. Both enjoyed fries. We were welcomed despite being the only party with young kinds that evening.
Extremely disappointed in the food. I had the clam corn chowder and it s the worse soup I have ever had in my entire life. I did mention it to the waitress but she just brushed it off. It s ok thou. I just want people to know that the food here it s bad. I don t want anything I don t need anything and ofc this is just my opinion. I don t think I will ever go there again. Loud, horrible food and subpar service.
Best mac and cheese Ive ever had. My wife and I dont drink beer but we come here exclusively to order the mac and cheese.
Great post movie beer flights and beer cheese. Service was friendly and prompt, beers were cold and tasty and the beeeeer cheese is always great, will certainly return.
Amazing. Simply Amazing....Service to beer to food. Definitely going back but Uber next time so I can partake in the tap array....
We had such a nice evening out. The gluten free options were so good, and we actually had some choices. Food

Went for a birthday party. There were 8 of us. Great service, all eating within a few minutes. Good drink menu. My open faced pulled pork sandwich was ok. The rest of the party enjoyed theirs.
Food is good and servers very attentive and friendly. The flatbread I had yesterday was awesome! Parking: Always get a spot.

One of my favourite places in the lower mainland. Great food, great staff and an amazing local craft beer and whisky selection!
I can t stop eating the dirty bird with the filthy fries!!!
Tim and his family have created a fantastic venue to showcase drinks and meals featuring BC suppliers. Couldnt be more proud to see the restaurant thrive. Keep up the great work guys!
When I go out for food this is my place of choice. The food is always the best and the service is amazing. The Barley Merchant never disappoints!
The place to be for literally any occasion! Family owned by a powerhouse local to Langley, dishes meticulously made from scratch, hand picked craft beer on tap by the infamous crafttourist who is known to dive into every step of the brewing process at many breweries Every visit is a new memory with friends and family. Great job Tim and team!
Super fun! Excellent service and delicious food. Had a burger, flight of local beer and wings. Love the ambience and the stories behind each piece of the restaurant. Great job!
Amazing location and atmosphere. Great tap list that always is rotating showcasing great breweries. Food is always amazing. Never had bad service or a bad time! Always look forward to my next visit.
Excellent place. Great food and drinks. Highly recommend as a gathering place for friends and family!
Kid-friendliness: My kid loves the TV, but the Beer Cheese dish may not be too kid friendly(staff said the dish is kid safe, but it has too strong of the alcohol taste. We didn t feed to our baby). Could add veggies in the dishes on the kids menu. Otherwise, everything else was wonderful. Food
