The power was out today and we got S&L just when it came back on. MGR Joe jumped into the chaos and got things running smoothly. The food was hot and fantastic. Farrah our server was so apologetic about the events (totally out of her control) She actually made our night.

Every time I have been here the food takes forever. Comes out one items at a time and first item is cold by the time the last item is served. Horribly incompetent front of house and the manager should be fired. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. There are many better options on langley

Came here for a lunch meeting on this visit. I have been here before and had alright service, but this was the last time. The worst service. We barely seen our waitress and there were only 4 tables including us. She seemed to be more interested in socializing. She came by after 10 mins of being seated to pour our waters, came back 15 mins later for our drink order. Came back 25 mins later to take our lunch order. Our food didnt take too long. A couple of the other waitresses brought our food. We didnt see our waitress again until we were almost done eating. She took plates off the table that people were still eating. Didnt ask us for anything else. No drinks. Nothing. We decided to leave and asked for our bill. After waiting 10 mins, one of the people in our party got up to go ask for the bill again. She finally brought it to the table. Proceeded with the most superficial conversation. Again there were 4 tables. I would post her name, but she didnt have a name tag. Id rather not waste 2 hours just to have lunch. I guess I should have read the room when I stepped in to a fairly empty restaurant during lunch...

Friend and I come often for for Happy Hr, wine and oysters, always great! Today no exception, Sam always great service and personable!

My girl and I went to this pub for dinner tonight, Nov.6 2024, ordered a glass of draft beer, it was flatter than anything, I sent it back then ordered another from a differant tap, it was a bit better but not by much. My 6 ounce ribeye was tough as nails, and very tasteless, the salad, I laughed at, it was so small, then the mashed potatoes were those instant ones, out of a box. Same as my lady friends tough steak, she ordered the Yorkshire pudding and that was burnt. Word does get around, Thumbs down to S & L in Langley But the waitress was awesome

Ordered two 8oz Top sirlions last night, that was the tuffest steaks I have had in quite a while. THe Bacon creamed Corm was excellent, Took a while to Place an order, Took longer for food to come out and even longer to sit at the table with our dirty dishes trying to catch the attention of a staff member to ask for the bill. Dont feel I need to reviest S & L anytime soon.

Had a few appies while food was ok it did not meet the expectations of high prices. Service was good and drink cart is different but makes for very loud space

One of the best dinners Ive had out in a long time.

We came here yesterday before watching a movie. Our server was friendly but the wait times were ridiculous. We were waiting for over an hour for our entrees. The table next to us came after us, ordered, ate their food, and had it packed up before our food even came. We had to use the same cutlery for our starters and our entrees and also had to use the same straw when we got new drinks. The server acknowledged that our food was taking a long time so she gave us dessert on the house which was nice. Unfortunately the wait was so long we ended up being late for the movie. Yes, we could ve told our server beforehand but we also thought that 2 hours dining time would ve been ample amount. Since we were late for our movie we asked for the dessert to go. Since she couldn t serve it to us to go, she gave us to go containers as we paid the bill. Once she left we realized she didn t give us any lids. We were late for our movie, and she was nowhere to be seen so we left without a cover for our food. From the wait times, having to use the same cutlery and straws, and not being given lids for our food, it s safe to say we were disappointed by our experiences.

We went there for happy hour this Monday. My husband and I both got food poisoning and threw up all night. It was our first visit, but very disappointed.

Ive been here once before and it was great. On our second visit, not so much. The food took FOREVER to get to us. Probably over 30 minutes to see our appetizers and another 30 for dinner. I got the fried chicken. It was SO SALTY!! The cook must be a smoker. ??? It was like someone dumped the salt shaker into everything. All of our meals were over salted. There was 4 of us. Wow. The plate presentation was meh. It looked like something youd get at a fast food place. For a place that has $165 Wagu beef and a steak dinner for $78, Id expect much better. Service was very slow. I doubt we will go back.

My wife and I dined in last weekend and was quite disappointed. The food was dry and lacked flavor, with portions that felt meager for the price. Even basic salads fell short of expectations. Service was sluggish, with an extended wait time for both food and appetizers. The Overall, the experience was overpriced and underwhelming, and I wouldnt consider returning.

Came here today for happy hour and was pleasantly surprised. Honestly we were skeptical based on previous not so great experiences at Osteria Cheesebar and Livelyhood, but S&L was great. We ordered a few appies - prawn cocktail and baked potato gnocchi, shared a Caesar salad (holy garlic!!!! but I love garlic) and the harvest chicken. Omg the harvest chicken!!!! Everything on this plate had so much flavour and was one of the best things I ve had in a while. Our server Alexandria was super friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!

Had lunch there, particularly the Hero Chicken Bowl. Not good, brown rice was dry, lack of sauce and chicken was so-so. Definitely not worth the $26- heck I would take food from the food court over this any day!

See.edit below for revision/downgrading of my opinion on this restaurant. Really outstanding food at a reasonable price. Service has always been good, even when they are busy. Great place to meet with friends, family, or business. Edit: food quality has dropped dramatically since taken over by current corporate owner. When the founders had it, the winners of Top Chef Canada and MasterChef Canada, the food was outstanding. Then they sold, but stuck around for a.year or so. Now that theyre gone, the food quality has dropped. Initially so much salt was used that the food was almost inedible, now there is no seasoning at all. I had the steak frites, and while the steak was perfectly cooked, it tasted bland and my fries had no salt at all. My wife had the Waygu beef dip, and both the meat (which was overcooked), and the jus had no flavour at all. The jus tasted like a cheap beef bullion that was bought from Save On Foods. My guess, the corporate weenies, ie, accountants, have taken over and are cutting costs everywhere, including in the kitchen.

Everything is always on point. Great place, excellent food. I love this place.

Figured Id repost a year later as I cant give more than five stars or five stars again, but this place is one of our date night hot spots and last nights dinner was incredible. We both love the harvest chicken, the wings are great, service is great, and the cookie is the perfect sweet treat to finish a meal. We love coming here :) Original review: Food is really good! S&L Kitchen Review: 0 Stars for the Food (For lamest owner response the award goes to JRG to this post) TLDR: Fantastic service from Ashley, but the food was a major letdown definitely not worth the time, money, or calories. On August 16th, we went to S&L Kitchen to celebrate my 14-year-old daughter s birthday. We arrived around 9 PM on a Friday night, expecting a lively atmosphere. Instead, the place was eerily empty, which, in hindsight, was the first red flag. To start, my wife and I ordered Hibiscus Margaritas ($15 each). I was looking forward to a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and the floral notes of hibiscus. Unfortunately, what we got was a sour, watered-down concoction that lacked any hint of tequila or hibiscus more reminiscent of a cheap, all-you-can-drink resort cocktail than a carefully crafted margarita. My daughter and her boyfriend opted for strawberry lemonades ($6 each). No complaints there, but nothing memorable either. The entrée options were pricey, and frankly, none stood out as must-try dishes. We decided to go with a selection of appetizers and one entrée for the birthday girl and her boyfriend to share. Here s what we ordered: Tomato Caprese Bruschetta ($18.50): Fresh mozzarella, tomato, pickled onion, basil, herb oil, and crostini. This should have been an easy win, but it wasn t. The mozzarella was bland and unseasoned, the tomatoes were under-ripe and hard, and the dish lacked any kind of seasoning or balsamic glaze to tie it together. The pickled onion barely made an appearance. Overall, it felt like an afterthought. Chimichurri Guacamole ($15): Chili-spiced corn tortilla chips, pickled onions, feta cheese. I was expecting a vibrant, herbaceous chimichurri mixed with creamy guacamole. Instead, the guacamole was so acidic that it overpowered everything else, leaving no room for the other flavors to shine. Wagyu Beef Carpaccio ($24.50): Fried capers, truffle aioli, Grana Padano, toasted crostini, crispy garlic. This dish was the main reason we chose S&L, and while the beef itself was delicious, the execution fell short. The crostini, which should have been toasted, was soft, and the crispy garlic was burnt, adding a bitter note to what could have been an excellent dish. Lobster Chowder ($16.50): Lobster with corn, potatoes, fresh vegetables, olive oil-baked croutons. The chowder had potential, with a rich lobster bisque base, but it was light on actual lobster and could have used more seasoning. Wagyu Shortrib Potstickers ($19): Toasted sesame, secret sauce, cilantro. These tasted like something you d pick up from the frozen aisle at a grocery store. The so-called secret sauce was a basic mix of mirin, soy, and sesame oil nothing to write home about. Wagyu Beef Dip ($28): Thinly shaved Wagyu beef, horseradish aioli, Dream Rings, baguette, au jus, garlic butter. My daughter, the birthday girl, loves beef dip, but this one was overcooked, over-seasoned, and could have been any random cut of meat. Labeling it as Wagyu felt like an excuse to jack up the price. The total bill, including tip, came to $210. For one entrée, five appetizers, and minimal drinks for four people (two adults, two teens), it was an expensive lesson in disappointment. Old Review: A few years ago, S&L Kitchen left a good impression on us. The service was prompt, and the food was creative and flavorful quite a contrast to chain restaurants like Cactus Club or Joeys. However, based on this recent experience, I m afraid those days are long gone.

We ve been coming to S+L Langley since it s opening. At the start it was amazing! But after several visits to have them redeem themselves from below average food and service. We won t be coming back! You ll get better value for food and service at many other restaurants in its class. Which is disappointing considering we ve invested in supporting a local brand for many years. Please don t waste your time and money!

This restaurant is a scam. We went for brunch and both their website and the kids brunch menu on every single table says kids eat free but we were charged for our kids meal. When we brought it up to the server, we were told that this promotion was discontinued and stopped a couple months ago. It s very scammy to me as the server didn t inform us of it being discontinued when we ordered the kids meal and there was no price written on the kids menu. If they are being too cheap to even update their physical menu, at least hand write the price. It s a false advertisement. Never going back again.

Fantastic experience! Did late night happy hour and it did not disappoint! Large selection, everything was so tasty, food was quick to come out and service was attentive and friendly. Definitely plan to be back (that skillet chocolate chip cookie is calling my name ) also the restaurant is gorgeous inside! A must try in Langley area!

Steak was tough, waitress forgot my beer twice and was not checking in enough for how slow a night it was, had to hunt her down for checks. Disappointed, was excited to try it here def not worth it.

My husband and I came for dinner after being here last December for a Christmas party. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn t as loud as it was when we were here previously. The food was delicious.The service was not good. We weren t asked once how our meal was, after we were done our dinner we wanted to order the nitro ice cream, and were told it was unavailable due to how much was mixed I can understand being out of something on a feature menu but something that is on the regular menu should always be available. I found it to be overpriced for what it was, although the steelhead was delicious I will not be back.

The atmosphere is nice and the service was really good. However, the food was disappointing. We ordered 3 different dishes and the breads/buns they were all old and dry. The only good part of the food was fries.

Service was extremely slow, even when the restaurant was not busy. The food was okay. Flavours and steak doneness were hit or miss. For the price you would be better off going to the Keg.

Hit or miss sadly. I ve had good meals and sadly a couple bad meals. Ordered a simple medium rare ribeye and it came out well done, the waiter was great and said let us make you a new one. New one came out and it well done again. The waiter didn t even leave the table because he was sure it was over done again as well. Hard to rank the restaurant higher when a steak should be very doable.

Id give it zero stars if I could. So surprised a JRG restaurant would hand off food that was made TWO hours earlier/packed to an delivery pickup. How they kept food bagged for 2 hours in beyond me and then handed off. Beyond it being ice cold and disgustingly soggy and rank, see attached photo of the portion of fries with the burger lol. What a joke, 20 fries? Garbage. Will never order agian nor reccomend this trashy place that has the audacity to serve food prepared at 620pm then hand off same to a driver at 814pm.

Really good food but was very overpriced and service was poor.

Our server was lovely, however I ordered the filet mignon rare. It came out mid well I sent it back already giving me anxiety and when it came out a second time it was still burnt when it was supposed to be rare. I ended up ordering 6 oysters and getting McDonald s on the way home

This place is the worst restaurant I have ever been to and we go out quite a bit. As soon as we entered there was something off. We were there on June 29/2024. We were seated by a hostess, she sat us at a table and without saying anything, like here you go, your server will be with you shortly, she just turned around and left. That was just the start of it all. As I am a trained chef and have worked in the back of the house and the front, I do know how things are supposed to run. There was not very many people in the restaurant at the time, we were seated and there was an abundance of waitresses, but we were greeted by the bartender (who by the way was great!) and took our drink order, our appies order and then our main course order, which was a bit odd, but alright. Now, down to the food... Appies: I had crab cakes, well more like tuna cakes since there was no crab in there. Taste wise, the tuna cakes were not bad, needed salt desperately though. My wife had crispy rice Ahi tuna; again, tuna and rice were both bland and needed salt. My son had crispy chicken bao buns, and guess what they needed? Salt! You seeing a pattern? Main course I ordered a center cut sirloin 6oz with buttered green beans and mashed potatoes. I asked for medium cook on the steak. It was almost well the first time, so I sent it back, and the second time it was still overcooked. The green beans were raw, not cooked at all, and mash was bland... everything needs SALT SALT SALT. As for the staff and management, or a lack of, I should say... The wait staff is standing around the pick up window chatting, making drinks for themselves, taking coworkers phones and hiding them, giggling and having fun. Very unprofessional! Where was the manager, you ask? Well, she is off serving her friends at their table and joining in all the friendliness that is happening at the pick up window. Anyway, this place is a disaster both, in the kitchen and front of the house. Will never go back and and will warn everyone who wants to go. I do have a suggestion to the owners, get rid of the manager, re-train your staff and at the same time fix the back of the house! Whoever is leading the kitchen needs to be fired. If you need help, I can come and help you get that kitchen in a tip top shape and producing food that can be not just eaten but absolutely delicious and enjoyable! Thank you, Mike Kozieras.

Gorgeous restaurant and great atmosphere but the service and food left much to be desired. Absent server that we had to flag down, mid food for an exorbent price point, and coffee that never arrived. Really disappointing meal overall.

Ive been here several times over the years. Miserable dining experience whrn your sweating in your seat because they cant keep the temperature at reasonable cool Temp. Same thing every year. Their prices are also inflated compared to the competition. Keg offers more for your money and arguably a better steak. Seems to be a Management issue..

We went to S+L for dinner. It was a very underwhelming experience. I ordered the master chicken sandwich. Theres nothing mastery about it, I would even say its below average. Chicken was a very thin piece with no flavor and dry. The bun-to-meat ratio was totally off. I could have easily made a better chicken sandwich with store bought chicken patty and bun. My husband ordered a steak which was unsatisfying as well. In addition, the place was so hot and the washroom floor was sticky. For the price range, youd get much better value anywhere else like Earls, Milestone, Cactus etc. We dont think well be returning.

This place is going downhill, and fast. Dry steak was served cold. And that too after waiting 45 mins for it to be prepped.

Got the top sirloin. It was okay, lil saltier than I d like. The mash potatoes were really good. My boyfriend got a side of green beans that were cold. Service was great. We had a bartender helping us out I forget his name. Atmosphere got a low rating because the door to their kitchen had the most irritating squeaking noise that I noticed a few other customers asking about.

I asked for a medium rare and I got well well done. The food was far from even okay. They didn t have enough staff to cover the floor.

I loved this restaurant and had many great meals here but last night was like paying triple the $ for a fast food meal and loud bar ambience. The wagyu beef dip had very little meat and the meat that was in it did not look or taste like wagyu beef. It was tough and had hard chewy fat. My bf s burger bun was hard and stale. The meals came with the choice of fries, spicy tater tots or house salad and we both chose tater tots. By spicy it meant a lot of seasoning salt and they just looked and tested like tater tots out of a frozen bag of tater tots. The liquor was very expensive. For a restaurant that was half empty at 7:30 on a Saturday night the service was good but slow, especially when it came time to be the bill. The live music consisted of a man standing awkwardly between the front desk and the bathroom. He was very good but too loud for a dinner ambience. Everyone had to almost yell at each other to be heard making the noise level in general too loud for our comfort. It s jot an experience we re likely to repeat.

Attended a family celebration for birthday and graduation. There were 14 of us and our service and food were exceptional! Good job!

Service from staff 5 star. Some of the menu items need to be changed. Attention to detail has to be better managed. Meats need to be in the highest standards.

Update Apr 2024 Its interesting reading what I said about this establishment in 2023. I feel like the food quality has gone down a lot. We had a steak dinner today and the steak was over and had no flavor to it what do ever. And I got a loaded baked potato on the side and to my surprise they chage $11 + tax for the potato that is ridiculous! The only saving grace was the server, we did have good service today. The only reason we come here now is only when we are invited by someone hosting a dinner here. I would not choose this place due to their inconsistency. Update Nov 2023 I thought we should give these guys another try. Its been some time. Maybe weve improved. Had dinner there yesterday. The service is really good. The food was good also. I had the wagyu beef dip and my wife had the Miso Roasted Steelhead the food was very good. It seems like they are moving in the right direction. Update Aug 2022 Lets start with the good. The guys behind the bar make some amazing drink and provide good service. The serving team is very friendly. The host team is a little lost and did not provide a good service at all. They are more busy talking to one another then dealing with customers walking in the door. Now the worst part why there is only one start. Is the manager, she was very rude and unapologetic for the mistake made by her and her team. We arrived at the restaurant when it was not very busy at all. Asked for a table in the bar and was told that its self seating and you can go have a seat. After being seated for a bit the manager walkes over and says you cant sit here, we have a reservation. I think the host made a mistake by this time the other tables at the bar were now taken so there was no more room for us, and we were moved to the bar top and decided to put our name on the waiting list which was now 45 min. As we had drinks at the bar we noticed that the host flipped a table and seated new customer at a table and did not offer it to us. When my friend inquired about it the host said we have to check with the manager, when he overheard the manager say they are fine at the bar. We got to the restaurant at 545 and now it was 7pm and the table we originally sitting at was still empty. - non the less enough was done and we decided to take our business somewhere else. I used to really like S+L always had a good time unfortunately that not the case anymore. Considering how many nice restaurants are now in Langley dont think we will be going back anytime soon. 2018 We had a large party. Over all it went well. The food is good and the service is good. We had two servers for our party and one (male) was really good. The female seemed like she was lost most of the time.

Limited options on menu however what choices are there are prepared and cooked excellently. Very pricey but it is upscale restaurant with lofty decour vibes. Always clean! Fresh oyster are amazing

I ve eaten here several times. Good food, albeit very salty. The steak is done well. The dessert cookie is delicious. The staff are lovely but can sometimes miss things and/or need to be reminded. Great the ambiance. Tho, no direct sunlight unless you re on the patio. The washrooms could use more attention. Not bad, but I wouldn t say entirely clean.

Food was all over cooked and presentation was terrible. White Spot and Rickis does a better job of how to plate and present food. Way over priced for what you get. Our burgers were thin pieces of cardboard with zero moisture. I added a lobster tail for $30 on the side - same thing. It was overcooked, paper thin and got 2 bites out of it, and the dipping butter was mostly water. Service was great until I paid the bill. I sat for a long time after drinking my wine as my friend had to leave quickly and suddenly. No one came to see if I wanted anything when I wouldve loved a coffee. Skip this place, we only went here because it was a good halfway meeting spot right off the freeway. For the same prices, go to Cactus or Earls for much better quality of food

Unfortunately, for a steak house, my steak was over cooked and flavourless. My husbands food was cold and his steak was tough and flavourless. The establishment was extremely loud. The service was good.

The food and service at this location are outstanding!! It seems as though they have hired some new kitchen team members which has led to better food and more consistency. Dine out menu is fantastic!!

This restaurant is a disaster! The waitstaff completely ignores customers I raised my hand five times and got no response. It took half an hour to get utensils, and when I finally got them from the front desk, the spoon had food residue on it. They dont provide utensils when serving dishes, as if we were animals. This is the only restaurant where I didnt tip, and its the last time Ill ever visit. Ill make sure to tell friends and colleagues to steer clear of this place. After eating here, my whole family had diarrhea. The restaurant is dimly lit, making it impossible to visually assess the freshness of the food, compounded by the excessive use of condiments to mask the lack of freshness. This experience was just terrible!

We enjoyed our lunch but the prices were quite high compared to similar restaurants. Their location is handy to Hwy #1 and there are few competitors nearby. So if you don t want the hassle of driving to downtown Langley then maybe it s worth the extra cost. Vegetarian options: A few choices

S and L has always been one our favourite restaurants for all of our occasions , but this time I was super disappointed . My husband and I both requested well done steak , yet it wasn t cooked fully . The server took it back to kitchen and brought back to us for second time and still wasn t done . Too bad that they ruined our experience and I don t think I will go back again !

Wanted to like the place as it would be great not to have to travel to Vancouver for a good steak. Very disappointed for sure. Medium rare came in as medium. Wasn t busy but hard to get service. You would think service would be attentive given you may have already spent more than $100pp.

Ive been going here for years and noticed a decline in quality of food. Service today was brusk and impersonal. I was not happy with a part of my meal, and noted it when asked. Nothing was done about it and I feel every time I go here its a gamble. Ill be trying out other restaurants in the area...

Id been to this restaurant for lunch a couple of times in the past. During those visits, I would order something simple like a burger and beer and was satisfied with the quality of my meal. Tonight I went to S+L for dinner and decided to get a steak as that is one of the things they are known for. As an appetizer, our party got the seafood tower. For $110 I expected something pretty special but wasnt particularly impressed with what was brought out. I ordered the flat iron steak (medium rare) with a loaded baked potato and bacon creamed corn. The steak brought out to me was medium well to well done and had already been cut so it was very clear how over cooked it was. I was surprised the kitchen even allowed it to go out. The loaded baked potato was undercooked and was distinctly under seasoned with the loaded part of it being sour cream and some green onions. The creamed corn was good and the only part of my entree I really enjoyed. At one point our server did offer to have the steak redone but at that point I had already completed 75% of it and didnt want to look as if I was trying to get a free meal. Drinks and atmosphere were good. The live music was a nice touch. My recommendation is that if you choose to eat at S+L, stick with simple dishes like burgers and avoid getting steak or any of their other pricey dishes. The quality simply does not match the price.

First and last time dining here. Food was mediocre at best. Waaaay overpriced. My friend ordered a grilled chicken breast, broccolini and a baked potato and it was $32! She specifically ordered grilled due to a food allergy and she got one that was fried because they apparently don t have a grill (which the server never told her) Server was not that polite either despite her not even taking how serious my friends allergy was. Then we order the ice cream dessert and who I assume is the manager comes over and says they are out of the stuff to make the ice cream. She asked us to pick something else. We said ok the butter cake to which we were told no they don t have that either. So we refused dessert. She then came back with a $15 gift certificate for us to use at another time we still wanted something sweet so we ordered with the manager the chocolate sphere and the lemon bar. We were under the impression that these desserts were on the house due to all the screw ups- but boy was I wrong! The chocolate sphere was good but not worth $23 and the lemon bar was gross. We were fully charged for every item on the bill despite all of the inconveniences and mistakes they made including causing a serious allergic issue. Will never go back again. I suggest you do not bother and go to Cactus Club instead.

Took over hr to get food over priced for amount we got. Taste wise it was good but be last time I think I will go there. Service was OK

Love their happy hour oysters!

Went to S + L Langley for lunch for the first time with a friend. The food and the service was great. The server was attentive to us without overdoing it, and the food was amazing. We shared a beef dip and Seafood Chop salad. The beef dip was very good. I have had it at other places and it has been dry - definitely not the case here. The meat was tender, full of flavour and the beef melted in your mouth. The salad was huge and filling. Could have used a few more shrimp, saying that I love shellfish :).

10/10 would not recommend

we usually order the master chicken but the quality has been lacking lately. And many times we didn t receive our Uber order. After taking a break for months we finally ordered via Uber and this is what we got.

We went last night for my birthday, as a group of 10. If I could give no stars for food, I would. Service was slow and when we finally were able to order it was a complete nightmare. 8/10 meals were complained about waygu beef dip was burnt 1 steak was chewy and inedible and the creamed corn was curdled 2 lobster dinners were inedible, the lobster was so over cooked it was rubber that you had to saw through with a steak knife 2nd waygu beef deep had a large bone in it?! crab cakes were small balls of deep fried crab that tasted like it came out of a can and was gummy the two steak dinners were missing their sides oysters were also VERY small Apart from the horrible food itself, the meals were brought out at random times. 1st meal was brought out 6 minutes before anyone else s and was missing their side. The other meals came sporadically over the next 10 minutes, all missing 1 side or had the wrong side. When I received my lobster dinner it had the wrong side (creamed corn) and was missing the broccolini I had ordered - the server told me sorry, the broccolini takes longer to cook it s coming though! . Since when do meals not come out complete as one? And since when does broccolini take longer than the rest of the meal? It was a joke. After I complained about my lobster I was waiting for the brocollini still and after 15 minutes I told her to cancel it and bring me my bill which she said yeah I already cancelled it! Like oh ok so I ve been waiting for it for no reason? At the end when we finally got our bills they were all wrong. We asked her to fix them and she grabbed one from the one party member crumpled it in her hand and walked away without asking how to fix it. When she came back, we explained they are still wrong because she didn t clarify how to fix and her response was well who had oysters then? Well.. only two of us ordered oysters so probably the ones that ordered them? One member ended up just paying for an order of oysters he didn t even order because he didn t want to wait for a new bill as we had to leave. It was just a horrible experience all around. We shouldn t have to leave a restaurant hungry, especially as the birthday girl, and still have a $200 bill at the end. If you ve read this far, sorry for it being long but the experience was awful. Avoid this restaurant at all costs ESPECIALLY if you have a party or event. Never again! Do better guys.

Disappointed to say the least. No hostess greeting, sat ourselves at the bar while waiting for our table in a less than busy restaurant. Drink came with a floaty and a fly in it!! After being seated we were told there were multiple menu items (4) were unavailable. One of the entrées came out cold, otherwise the mains were good. Lastly after bringing out the birthday persons dessert we were told the oven was broken and couldn t order dessert.. Disappointing for an over priced food experience.

Overpriced for mediocre food. The fries were terrible some overcooked some not, but all of them were extremely dry. The burger buns are crusty flaky and dry. No tenderloin steak options, all cuts include fat. For a place called steak and lobster... there wasnt much lobster. There were menu items with lobster in them but no actual lobster entree. The waitress was fine but barely. The restaurant itself though is interesting and decorated well. Could use some background music though as we were there for an hour and a half despite only ordering dinner (no appies or dessert) The group consensus was we will not be back despite this being one of the closest restaurants to our house

S+L has always been my husbands and my fav spot to treat ourselves away from the kids. Not anymore. I used to be able to order the Brussels sprout dish as my main meal and now it s the size and quality of a side dish. Everything was smaller, and the calamari fries were terrible. Only a select few tiny square pieces of calamari and the rest veggies, very disappointing. $10 for a bottle of bud, service was good enough but no personality or connection. We rarely get to go out and treat ourselves, especially in this economy, so to say we are sad about $150 bill and what we got for it is disappointing to say the very least.

Small brunch menu, but good quality overall. Service really depends on time and crowd. We ve had great experience earlier (10-12) but some issues after 12. Service was good and the atmosphere, but just the food was very bland and not that good. I give the food a 3 just because the Mac and cheese sticks were good everything else was disappointing.

If I could give a zero I would. It was slow not attentive service while the restaurant was not busy. I ordered the wagyu beef carpaccio as well as the wagyu beef dip. Wagyu is a premium cut of meat given the price. The Wagyu in the beef dip was top sirloin at best it was tuff and over cooked, the beef carpaccio tasted like the salt bin was spilt on the plate, nor was it true Wagyu. I was very disappointed in my experience and would not go again.

We went to this S+L outlet for a quick dinner on Friday evening. The staff who seated us was cold and rude. Due to the loud music we couldnt clearly hear what she said so we requested her to repeat what she said but instead she gave us a response Nevermind. Unlike this lady, the guy who served was warm and attended to us well. There are limited food options in the menu and we felt it was slightly overpriced. Ambience was okayish and there is nothing extraordinary. After our experience here, I do not think we will be back. Id prefer going to Earls kitchen or Cactus club as they are way better in terms of food, service and ambience.

I took my wife for a belated anniversary dinner and had a sensational experience. The Caesar was spectacular, steak was good, the Yorkshire puds were perfect, even the baked potato stood out. Dessert was the butter cake and the cookie... Wow. I apologize Im not great with names, but I believe our server was Dani and she was great. It would be difficult to curate a better culinary experience, thank you S+L!

Went to the Langley restaurant for our anniversary. First time going to this restaurant. The front desk girl was not very helpful with seating us where we wanted to and told us other tables were not available even though they were empty. Our waitress Kat arrived within 5 mins and started to serve us. She was very attentive and respectful. She offered to move us to another table which was much quieter as we were originally seated by a table which had young kids screaming and running around during their birthday party. Our drinks and food came really quickly, almost within 30 mins or less. The salmon and harvest chicken bowls were really delicious. This being said, the food options were limited especially if someone wanted spicy food. The manager Mercede M. came to our table to discuss the seating issue and resolved our issue in a timely fashion while being professional. In the end, we had a good night.

Food is very good. I had the Aburi Salmon Bowl and the rest had steaks. They also brought a small (bite-sized) complementary appetizer for each of us. Note that portions are a bit smaller than most restaurants. Food : 4/5

Came here for dinner and it was lovely. Started off with some sushi bites on the house, then had the pull apart bread. I then had the vegan mac and cheese which was ok, it needed more seasonings. For dessert we had the chocolate ball and that was to die for. Will be coming back for sure because the atmosphere was so lovely!

I had the beef hash which tasted good although just slightly small. However, the Wagyu beef dishes did not seem any better than normal beef.

I absolutely love the dining room layout and the atmosphere is very open and inviting, bright and spacious. Diverse seating for most preferences and really great food but smaller portions. Worth it in my eyes!

Amazing food and service!

Neat spot. I liked the vibe and at first seemed ok. Service was not as good as I expected, but food was fantastic. Really bright around happy hour and it made it difficult to enjoy the visit (no one turned the blinds down). Id try it again and hope for better.

Been to this location a few times and like it very much. The atmosphere is okay, Im not really a fan but the dishes and staff are great. My last visit didnt sit as well as previous times since the price was a bit more, the food seemed a bit smaller and I just didnt enjoy the overall time. The food tasted great though and the staff is great, make no mistake. I would still recommend this place for first timers and recommend any steak dish as they are all great.

Got the lobster chowder, and shrimp as a Appy and the chowder was too tangy and next to 0 lobster with the odd hard potato. The shrimp was good lol but the sauce was Buried under shredded lettuce? Odd. Got 2 orders of filet mignon with potatoes and salad and to my surprise it was very bland.. like I needed ketchup for my potatos and didnt finish the salad, but I understand why the server asked us if we wanted to pay an extra $3 for steak sauce....we thought for $50 steak it shouldnt need sauce but it did.. it was very bland tender but some salt and pepper would have definitely helped.

Visiting BC for work and had Sunday Lunch at Moxies Langley - Jacob was amazing and the food and experience was 10/10

We used to come regularly (before kids) and decided to try it again after a couple years for old times sake. Service, atmosphere and drinks were good. My wife loved her wild mushroom ravioli. My spicy chicken sandwich was fine, but nothing you couldnt get anywhere else. Overall it was an enjoyable experience, we just felt like we overpaid for what we got.

South Surrey location is awesome but the Langley one is a second rate restaurant! We actually walked out as no service after 20 mins sitting at table. Two servers were chatting with bar tender and ignoring all their tables! No managers present and staff lost and not doing anything work related! Lots of great restaurants around so avoid this one!

We just had the best lunch thanks to our stunning server Alex! She joyfully greeted us the second we walked in and seated us right away! She was on top of every part of our dining experience and was very sweet. We shared some Appys and the master chicken and were lucky to get a good sized portion which was delicious. Great service like this is hard to come by! Thank you so much we will definitely be coming back soon!

We like to try different restaurants nearby. They provided kids eat free so we went. The food tasted good but the portion was very small even for kids. According to the price, I had high expectations but there were egg shells in the brunch. On the other hand, the service was good.

Steaks were good

Food as well as the presentation were terrible. Ordered the master chicken & steak both looked like cafeteria food. Sloppy bacon creamed corn, with no bacon. 40$ for a meal that looked and tasted extremely bland. Appies were also underwhelming and expensive. Overall will not return.

This S+L location is a huge disappointment due to the absence of any service and disrespectful attitude from the front staff. First of all, we (a couple) were offered the least private table in front of two loud drinking groups, we waited for more than 20 mins for a server to help us with water and drinks to start with, nobody came. We saw them chatting by the bar with no any attention to the customers. When we got up and were passing the front stuff and mentioned we will leave as no any service offered , the girl just said: ok with no interest in providing any assistance. Huge disappointment in this particular location. Update: Useless response from the restaurant below - they never replied to my email. Unfortunately, unprofessional people are employed at all levels of this chain of restaurants.

We are here for lunch. Come first with an in house appetizer. It could be better if we have more time to enjoy the environment. Lunch start from $20~50. Reasonable on the price. Food is above average. Will try dinner another time.

When I want steak, I m going to start coming here versus others, they do the basics well while elevating the steakhouse cuisine.

$300 dinner for two (wine and tip included) -oysters were the size of a loonie -8oz flat iron steak was more like a 6oz and poorly seasoned. Steak was cutter in thing slices maybe to make it look bigger? Who knows -Lemon cake dessert was horrible, dried plain and stupidly decorated in a huge plate with 3 drops of some kind of jam and a drop of whipping cream. -Service was bad and distracted they have some kind of issues because I saw our server crying. Main dish was served (pretty much thrown in) by another girl. She didnt removed the empty plates from our table and left us with a table full and no cutlery. I needed to ask to remove the empty plates and for cutlery. An extra quick note: the restaurant smells a like mold and not just a little bit Overall, way overrated restaurant, way overrated prices, bad service and not a good food.

It s been a couple years since we ve been and I was thoroughly disappointed. Deep fried appies and what was clearly day old lobster chowder (at best day old). Not even close to $200 quality, which is what we paid for our meal and a couple drinks. Great service and fast but absolutely terrible food in comparison to the few times I ve been before. Women s bathroom also had 2 toilets not flushing and a sticky floor. Definitely declined since we ve last been.

Had dinner here the other night and quite enjoyed it! I could not believe how great the steaks were. Went with a group and we all kinda ordered a different cut. I ordered 6oz filet Med rare with mashed potatoes - upgraded one side to roasted mushrooms and added prawns. Steak was cooked beautifully. Super juicy and tender! Mushrooms were full of flavor and absolutely delicious. Prawns were tasty and fresh. Mashed potatoes were underwhelming. I did get a taste of the waygu steak... Get it. This melt in your mouth steak will blow your mind away. (no pic of waygu only my meal) Oh also had the fried Mac and cheese appy and we dove in before I remembered to grab a pic of full appy but they come with 4 decently sized sticks. These were suuuper creamy and crispy!

The service was ok. The food on the other hand was terrible. Definitely not worth the money. The steak was very chewy and not cooked as I ordered. This was my first time eating at S&L and honestly my last.

We chose S+L for our BSB Christmas Party. Ten stars! Amazing place! Great staff and the best food!
