The tacos are good, but they serve them in ridiculous quantities

I had the carne asada, the steak was full of grisal I was hungry so I cut it off and put it to the side, kinda creeped me out, the salsa was ok but the over use of the salantro wasnt the best, store bought chips werent expected, I was left hungry, I had such hi hopes

Try the birria here its unbelieveable the place is small and authentic and we love going there whenever we are craving some real Mexican food.

I had been visiting this restaurant for 2 years and it seemed to me to be well seasoned with fairly large portions. However, today, November 17, my family and I went and it has completely changed and it was terrible, very slow service but above all, the food was terrible and tasted bad. We asked for birria and they gave us birria with lettuce. True Mexican birria does not have lettuce. They shouldnt allow cooks from other countries to be in Mexican-style restaurants because they dont really know Mexican cuisine. My daughter ordered beef tongue tacos and they were the tacos with the least meat I have ever seen in my life! WE ARE NOT GOING AGAIN! We will never go again, this last time we went the taste was horrible and it took a long time. The birria had no meat, it was almost pure broth and it was funny because they gave us lettuce when we all know that birria does not have lettuce. We also ordered beef tongue tacos and they were cold and the portion was very small. In short, WE WILL NEVER GO AGAIN.

One of the best places in the lower mainland for Mexican food. I would consider their food as comfort food. Service is always great and the atmosphere (especially the music) is always amazing. If youre looking for a cute dinner date close to home, I would recommend this restaurant.

I recently visited Cielito Lindo, and it quickly became my new favorite Mexican spot. The food is nothing short of amazing authentic, flavorful, and made with fresh ingredients. What really made the experience stand out was our waitress, Alejandra. She was friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about the menu. Her recommendations were spot-on, making our meal even more enjoyable.

They charge tip without telling you. I came in with my boyfriend to order two orders of flautas and a beer, you are meant to order at the counter which is perfectly fine, but when I was handed the machine to pay i saw the total and I didn t get the tip option which was weird so I tapped and as soon as it went through the machine showed that I was charged for the food and the lady had put a 15% tip on it without even asking me, I asked her if that was the case because she didn t give me a receipt either, she said, very rudely, that it was automatically set in the system and that it was the mandatory percentage which is a lie since it was only two people and only parties of 6 or more pay for a mandatory gratuity. Before she lied to my face I was going to let her keep the tip I just wanted to make sure I d seen correctly but after she lied I asked to cancel my order and give me a refund, she was very rude through all of it. We ended up going to the Mexican restaurant next to this one and the service was great so I would recommend doing the same.

Its my favorite place! The manager is attentive with a high degree of customer service, which many other restaurants in the same area would like to have. Pozole, donkey, mojarra, tacos, in short all the dishes are extremely good. Every time I go there are people, the reason is obvious, great quality of food, excellent service from the manager, excellent place! This is why I always come back.

If you want delicious authentic Mexican food and dont want to travel to Vancouver, look no further. I cant believe I have never been here before in all my 6 years of living down here. We ordered nachos, Quesobirria and Chimibirria and it was AMAZING. We definitely will be back!!!!

Cielito Lindo fits the definition of a hidden gem. Unpretentious exterior but once you enter, there is beautiful decor, careful attention to detail, delicious food, and excellent value for money.

Had dinner there tonight and hands down, the best place in Langley for Quesabirria! So delicious our daughters also both had the Giant Burrito and the Enchiladas and their plates were empty. Such great food and service. A must do place to eat!

Had the best Mexican food in a very long time. I had the chili relleno, to die for and my husband had the beef enchiladas in red sauce which was also delicious. Service was great too.

The food here was excellent! I had the giant burrito and it was delicious. I cant remember exactly what my partner had but it was excellent as well. I dont think you can pick a bad menu item here. I had a piña colada horchata that everyone should try. Small, cozy, great service and excellent food. Well be back for sure.

I really wish the previous owner/cook didnt leave, but doubled her prices, because we wouldve been happy to pay it. If youre a new customer you should know the old reviews are mostly irrelevant after the 2023 change of management, ingredients, prices, and food.

We had the choice of three Mexican/Latino restaurants in the area and chose this one based on recent reviews. When the Latino farm workers eat here, you know it must be good. We were not disappointed. I ordered the Quesbirria and it was delicious. My wife ordered the Fried Mojarra. The fish was well seasoned and was huge. This definitely could be a shared plate. My daughter ordered the Chimibirria and really tasty too. All in all, we were well fed and very happy.

I recently visited this Mexican restaurant and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. While the service was polite, I found the quality of the food did not justify the high prices on the menu. The dishes lacked flavor and presentation, leaving me feeling underwhelmed. In addition, the ambience of the restaurant was quite unpleasant. The lighting was harsh and the decor outdated, making it difficult to fully enjoy the meal. It was also apparent that the level of service lacked genuine warmth and enthusiasm. Overall, while I appreciate the effort put in by the management team, I cannot recommend this restaurant to others due to the high prices in comparison to the quality of food, unpleasant ambience, and impersonal service.

This place used to be my absolute favorite spot for almost two years since it opened, but lately, its been a complete disappointment. The quality of work and value has been going downhill, and I am not one to tolerate such mediocrity. To make matters worse, they have forgotten part of my order on not one, but two separate occasions. And dont even get me started on the prices - $5 for a single taco? Who do they think they are? A five-star restaurant? Its a complete joke. What exactly are they providing me thats worth $17 for just three tacos? Its absurd. Tacos used to be $12.50 you goons. Quesabirra used to be $15.50. What the heck! Clearly, the owners have no clue about menu pricing in comparison to other restaurants. A more reasonable price range for tacos would be $3-$4 per taco. On top of that, the restaurants appearance is atrocious. The food is decent, but its certainly not worth the exorbitant prices theyre charging. If Im paying that much, I better be getting at least six tacos. To add insult to injury, their Quesabirria is one of the most expensive Ive seen, priced at a ridiculous $22. Its as if they dont value their loyal customers who have been supporting them from the beginning. To the owners: shape up or risk losing your once-loyal customers.

I had just tried this place on a whim and was a little disheartened by previous reviews about ownership change, but gave it a shot anyways. I thought the food was excellent! I got the quesabirria (which Ive been looking for locally for a while and omg!!) and my mom got the chicken enchilada. Both were amazingly good and we will definitely come back!

Totally not worth it Today I went like a few other times to eat the Quesabirrias, everything was normal until I saw the price that had already gone up at least 5 dollars per dish, but I said okay, I like them and they are well served with a decent amount of cheese and meat While I was waiting for my order and my friend for his order of pozole, I saw how more people arrived and some who were there already had their tortilla chips and they gave them to those who arrived and they hadnt given us anything, I thought okay, theyll be given them. I forgot so I asked for them and they brought them to me, my order arrived and what was my surprise that the quesabirrias were at least half of what they had often previously had in quantity of meat and cheese, they were not browned like before and the flavor It was not the same, the birria consomme was half the portion it was before and a few vegetables (onion and cilantro). The price is high for the quality and flavor compared to how it was before. Before finishing eating, some acquaintances and co-workers who were also going for the quesabirrias arrived, I finished eating and left. In the afternoon this same day, while talking with co-workers, I also found out about their bad experience in terms of quality. , price and quantity of ingredients in your orders. The worst thing is that they were also discriminated against and they did not give them their complimentary chips and salsa and the other people who were or were arriving did. Clearly an example of discrimination towards Hispanic diners

We went to eat and the quesabirrias were all very delicious but unfortunately we realized that when we sat at the table the waiter served the customers differently or it could be said that he served the Mexican customers differently than the Canadians, we sat down and he didnt give us any feedback. the snack of nachos and then several people came in at different tables and he put said snack to them and he didnt put anything on the Mexican tables until we asked for it to be served to us, which I think is that all of us who eat his food in his business think Since we paid the same as the local people, I dont understand the distinction and it wasnt that maybe I forgot because the same treatment was given to another table, clarifying that it was the waiter because a girl previously served and the treatment was different.

Excellent, authentic food with friendly service. I ve come here twice now. First time , I had the tamales, today I had the birria, both were full of flavour and very tasty. If you re looking for good authentic Mexican food then this is the place to come to in Langley.

The food was delicious though the portions were a little small for the price. The quesadilla had very little filling, not even close to filling the large tortilla. I will probably try the restaurant again as the Quesabirria was delicious, but I wouldnt order the quesadilla again. It was disappointing and definitely not worth the price.

First time here, and came with a group of eight, giving the owners only half-an-hour notice. They rolled with it - they gave gracious and friendly service. And the food was outstanding. Many different plates ordered, all prepared in a reasonable amount of time, and all very tasty. Everyone was satisfied.

Disgusting food. Not authentic at all. We have many Mexican friends and we ourselves are from Guatemala. We know the difference. The server was rude and unhelpful, it was not busy but it took forever to get our food. The tacos used the smallest tortillas and had hardly any meat in them. Worst pretend Mexican food

Im so heartbroken. I think its under new ownership? None of the staff are the same, the menu is completely different and the dishes are not the same as they used to be. We stumbled on this gem while looking for another store. What a great find! We had an exceptional meal, Tamales for me and Taquitos for him. Our meals came with seasoned rice, refried beans, and a fresh salsa that was really delicious. The food was so fresh, not too spicy but very flavourful. The server was very helpful and attentive, and the restaurant walls were painted with a gorgeous Mexican wall mural. If we are ever back in Langley, we will definitely stop in again! Our meal was delicious, the staff were friendly and attentive. The problem here is that the items on the menu arent exactly what they serve. Chicken Enchiladas were served with no chicken in them. When staff were asked, it was a sorry it was changed. This should have been said when the meal was ordered. Parking: Very limited parking. Be prepared to circle the block.

The waitress claimed it was just made but felt like it was thrown in the microwave. Chips were stale. Overall was a disappointment. We didn t even touch our food but payed for it all. Spent $22 on one meal (3 tacos) and thought it was going to be great from the reviews and the overall authentic atmosphere. I got the Quesabirria and the tortillas were stale, for a $22 dollar dish you think they would use fresh tortillas at least. Beef was also dry and consomé (broth) was lacking in flavour and spice. I understand restaurants have off days sometimes and make mistakes, but its not even worth trying again when they deliver that low quality and quantity for such an expensive meal. Looking at menu prices from last year 2022, this dish was $15.50 but now in 2023 they are charging $22 for it. judging from the other reviews it seems like they have new owners and things have gone downhill since they took over. Wish i could have tried this place out with the old owners and chef.

Skip Dishes and Door Dash need to remove them as they are constantly canceling orders and not answering their phones. Food is good on the off chance they feel like fulfilling the order. I haven t been inside to eat, so this review is strictly on the take-out.

1. Almost always cancels my skip the dishes orders. 2. I have tried calling many times and can almost never get an answer. 3. When i do get an answer on the phone they have hung up on me mid conversation. 4. Not very polite or friendly if they answer the phone. 5. We love the food here so its pretty disappointing. We see there are new owners and im sure the old owners would be disappointed as well.

I loved this place before but now that the new owner took over everything changed, price of a giant burrito back then was $8.50, chorizo burrito was $9.25 and now its double in price. Having a change in price is totally understandable but doubling it is just too much by charging a giant burrito for $17 and not having changed much for its size from before. I ordered a chorizo burrito and the first bite in I started to wonder if it was a chorizo burrito that was made, cause the meat was so small and tiny that it made feel like they added chorizo sauce instead. In all honesty mucho burrito is much better than what they are making now.

Food: was great! Service: amazing! Ladies in the kitchen came out and made sure I had chips and salsa to wait for my to-go food!!! I will be back for sure!

Not going to lie, Im very confused. Based off of the reviews, we thought this was going to be a total hit but it was far from that. After eating our subpar lukewarm meal we honestly thought that other well known fast food franchises of Mexican food and even our own home cooking was better then what our $70 order was. Im hoping it was an off day for them but who knows? The Pico de Gallo and guacamole were decent but thats about the only positive thing we have to say. We were hoping to find our new Mexican joint but our quest continues. I wish them all the best and hopefully can up their game but we will not be there to find out.

I ordered my usual (veggie enchiladas) and they were completely cold. Literally a tortilla filled with unmelted shredded cheese and a new green sauce that was not good. The beans and rice were also no where near as good as they were. I did not finish the meal.

First time at Cielito Lindo after new management, I m very impressed. It s not just Mexican food, it s Central American now. The queso birria tacos were exactly what I was expecting. The chicken and banana fries ( Pollo con Tajadas) we re very well done. A traditional plate from Honduras. Delicious. Will definitely go back.

Theyre apparently under new management and the menu has completely changed and the prices are WAY higher. The food was ok but its not the same Cielito Lindo the community will remember. Appears to be a completely new place just the same name. Unfortunately, we will not be back. I suggest they change the name because people are going to expect the old menu and recipes when they visit just like we did. I will miss those giant burritos!

We have been coming to this Mexican restaurant for years and loved the food and prices. The restaurant has new owners and the prices are quite a bit higher and the food has changed. We had taquitos, enchiladas and quesadillas. Overall the food was good, not as good as the previous owner. Unfortunately, the quesadillas only had meat at the tip and not throughout the whole tortilla, it was mostly cheese. A bit costly for what you get.

No ambience it was like being in a bright cafe on Valentines day. No music. No candles. Asked if they had music and they had to unplug a beverage cooler to turn on the music. I read online that whole building had poor electrical. Breaker to kitchen turned off at one point. No alcohol. Looking forward to Corona and tequila. Food was bland and presentation was sloppy. Probably the worst food I have had in any restaurant period. Online reviews tricked me.

Went yesterday. The giant Burrito was good. Went to use the washroom. The toilet was full and filthy and the bathroom light was not working.

Worst service. Ordered three tacos to go. Waited half hour. Asked how much longer and was told another 5-10 minute more. Was told there was a big table before me but I have a feeling they either missed or forgot it as the big table got their food about 15 minutes before I asked how long it would take. Cant comment on the food as I cancelled my order and went to Tacoholic instead.

Down hill with the new management. Food was barely warm and bland. We asked for beers with our lunch but they do not serve alcohol anymore either. I wont be returning. Its a shame since they used to be very good.

Please, if you are expecting the old Cielito Lindo. Dont go back. Food tasted pre made and frozen. Hot spots in the rice and beans. Everything else was a bit warmer than room temp. No music, no noise. Felt as If I would be shushed for speaking. I understand the new style/ownership . Change the name, unless you prove yourselves capable of filling the shoes of the previous long time staple in this community.

Wish I could leave more than 5 stars, this place has the best pozole (even came with the plate of diced onions, lettuce, and tostadas) and the birria tacos with broth were just AMAZING- it s refreshing to have genuinely authentic Mexican food that s also well made. I m excited to try the chilaquiles next time :D

Steak quesadilla, do not recommend. Steak is in teeny pieces, tough, and hardly there. Lots of cheese to make up for it. Took 45 minutes for a pick up order. Burrito was bland. Hostess very pleasant and apologetic for the wait, but wouldn t recyfir the price/quality.

Wow, so friggen delicious! Worth the 30 minute drive from Maple Ridge! The salsa verde on my enchiladas was sooooo good!

The customer service was excellent. The establishment was clean and the server was always busy cleaning, checking on tables and refilling water. He was friendly and very knowledgeable about ingredients to avoid for allergies. And the food was tasty ! We will be back .

It use to be good. I ordered a giant beef burrito and really couldn t tell if it was pork or chicken when I got it at home. To the people that use to manage the place, you were awesome.

I couldn t rave about the food more if I tried. Amazing and authentic food. And really good drinks. All at amazingly affordable prices!!! The enchilada plate with the tamal is my absolute favourite. The tacos and taquitos are great too.

Hands down the best Mexican in the area. The atmosphere/decor may be unassuming (especially compared to other options on the one way) but the food is truly authentic. Top-notch quality, large portions and great value!

Food was good but when I got home I realized the item i ordered was $7 somthing and the women charged me almost $12 I did order a tap water aswell so. IF YOU EAT HERE MAKE SURE YOU PAY THEY DONT SCAM YOU
