Great atmosphere

First the food: $28 for a so-called vegan burrito that has literally nothing inside it but onions and tomatoes. This restaurant does not understand that vegan dishes are made by substituting the meat and cheese by something else, like vegan meat, non-dairy cheese or at least interesting vegetables like mushrooms and bell peppers. I could get a better burrito at a chain restaurant for $10. Moreover, the description of the burrito said topped with guacamole and I received no guacamole on or with the burrito. My wife ordered a vegan enchilada, and it was the exact same thing as the burrito, just the rice was outside instead of inside it. We ordered a Pina colada, and it tasted like there was no alcohol in it - maybe it didnt. The taste was also boring - made from store bought syrup. The service: Service here is quite cold, the staffs body language felt like they were bored of serving us. We asked the waiter Victor for a tomato slice for our baby and he said they dont have tomatoes only pico de Gallo which is made of onions and tomatoes. RIP common sense. All of the staff was very robotic and felt like they didnt want to serve us. The atmosphere: This restaurant is packed with hanging sombreros, Mexican signs everywhere, and unoriginal posters of jokes. Its not too bad, with the Mexican colors and music playing on the TV, but when you look closely, its not too clean - the hot sauce bottles and drink menus on the table are very dirty. Overall, I think it was a waste of time and a lot of money going here. We make much, much better Mexican food at home with vegan stuff and a ton of veggies. Not visiting here again. I saw another review that said I am Mexican and this is not Mexican food, with canned beans and stuff, and I think they may be right. Save your time, money and self esteem and go somewhere else.

This was our third time to Viva Mexico. First two trips, meal was great. We have ordered the same now for three times. Fiesta Mexicana for Two $45.00. Today we where greeted right away and seated at a table that was so sticky. We had to ask three times for fresh bottles of hot sauce. All six the sauce would not come out of the bottles. The food was far from what we experienced the first two times we had it. We have told so many of our friends about Viva Mexico being so good. I hope we are not going to regret it.

This fancy looking restaurant is great for the eyes but not for the taste buds or the wallet. First of all vegan food was a joke. They take out the meat, cheese, sour cream etc. but dont replace it with anything. So basically you get tomato, onion and iceberg lettuce (very little) drenched in some tangy sauce that is not flavorful and pay 28$. Probably meat versions are better. Monster burrito did say guacamole but its didnt have any neither beans. They didnt serve guac with anything. What mexican is that? All dishes taste the same somehow. Just different arrangements or layout. I asked for a tomato slice for my baby and the server said all they had was pico de Gallo. Probably they make it without the tomato. Pina colada was full of ice though asked with less ice and didnt have any alcohol. It was syrup made. Very disappointing. We ate the leftover food a few hours later and it literally tasted bad. This doesnt happen with other places. I dont understand how can mexican food be so expensive. The service was okay, not warm or interested.

Food and live band were excellent. Service was very poor, only we were only offered drinks one when got there.

Felt like a real little slice of Mexico. The decor and atmosphere in this place is lit! Whole family loved the food. Will be back!

The food was bland The service was slow, considering we went at lunch time and there was not a lot of people there. The TV was way too loud. It was hard to carry on a conversation.

I tried a lot of Mexican dishes while traveling in the U.S., but I think the fajitas and other dishes here are the most delicious.

As perfect as Mexican restaurant can be. No joke, I walked 30 mins to and from this place just to be able to eat there multiple times. The BEST Mexican food on Tenerife, superb cocktails and very affordable prices. Bartenders are friendly and polite, you will get by very well with English only. Its in Los Cristianos so its a bit far from Playa de las Americas where most tourists are and where I stayed but its just so good I had to go back multiple times! Thanks a lot for the great food!

I went with; an Argentinian, a Mexican AND another Gringo... This is the PERFECT place to meet and have a birthday party. I am glad, I was the designated driver, so my friends could enjoy themselves to the Utmost. Victor was our server and he helped us, celebrate. I HIGHLY recommend coming here. It is an authentic slice of Mexico, MANY miles away.

If I could do zero stars I would. Ordered take out on my birthday for two of us. Ordered Chips and guacamole, I didnt get any chips. The rice was hard, the burrito was mostly a wrap and the taco salad was mushy, unappetizing and small. I called the restaurant. Was told Id get a call the next day, no call. I sent them a message, no reply. So not only bad food but no customer service. Disappointed and wont dine there again.

Always have a great meal, love their enchiladas and their nachos are the best ever!!

Throwback to the Mexican restaurants my parents took me to as a kid in the 1990s. Good food, generous portions, very colourful atmosphere! Kid friendly!

Great restaurant lots of fun ,great food and good service

I come here quiet often and always have a great time. My boyfriend and I came to dinner tonight and had a lovely experience with our waiter, Vinit, who made sure everything was taken care of for us throughout the night. Unfortunately, the evening was tainted a bit by the, yes Ill say it, KAREN at the table several feet away from us but making enough noise for the whole restaurant to hear. She was very obviously the type of person who complains about every little thing and it was unfortunate for Vinit that, through no fault of his own, he was at the receiving end of this. I hope his managers know how excellent of service he provides, and that he doesnt let someone like that bring him down.

What a nice surprise to go on a Wednesday and not only enjoy delicious food but also had a fantastic time with their karaoke night! The host was fantastic and service was excellent. I had the tamales and they were so delicious. My friends enjoyed taquitos & carne asada tacos. Will definitely come back for the food and karaoke

Very good food! The jalapeño margarita is also very good.

I think it s weird that they pre charge the tip on your order. It said on the receipt that they charge a mandatory 18% tip if it s a table over 6 people and we were 5. $50 for a Bellini and plate of nachos. A bit disappointing. Also the hot sauces at the tables have never been cleaned and are disgusting.

This is an amazing Mexican experience...great food and a very fun atmosphere.

Had this crazy experience here. The burrito I ordered was extremely bad. I gave a feedback about it and the manager came to talk to me. He was an extremely rude person. He questioned me asking if I ever had a burrito in my life and know what it is . He questioned me further on why I hated it as if I am lying and he put me in a spot and made me feel as if I am doing something wrong by giving this feedback. Damn this was the moment I decided I will never come back here. It was a weird experience. Our server was quite rude as well. Not only they are over priced, they are rude and weird. Adelicia beside them is 10000 times better!

Was double charged and management refused to give me my money back despite proof, phone calls, emails having the card I paid with and going in person. So for obvious reasons I am rating this place as low as possible. In the end I paid close 90 dollars for a mediocre vegetarian quesadilla and 2 beers. I honestly don t have the energy to even get into the rudeness I was met with by the manager. I would just avoid the place. Viva Mexico? More like Viva Scammers.

A bit of a dissapointment coming here. Food is nothing to write home about. Service was okay but the restaurant has a very cheerful and authenitc atmosphere which as that going for it at least. Plenty of parking on the one way.

Ate here tonight for the first time. Great value and great sizes! The owner came by and greeted us as well. Live music. Everything tastes great! I left my wallet there tonight. Fingers crossed it is still there tomorrow morning as we were one of the few last tables. If it is then even more praise to the restaurant. Will check back.

One of our favourite places. Kids love it to. Never a bad time here. Food is top notch. Atmosphere is amazing. Some times it can be pretty busy so a little patience is needed but they always make the visit worth it. Viva Mexico!!!

The service from all staff was incredible, always checking in to ensure you are happy. The live band makes for such a wonderful experience, authentic and amazing just like the food, Ohmy the food is to die for!! Also, the owner was walking around talking with his guests, it was such a cool experience, he personally greeted our table. Even commented on the hat I had stashed next to me, he s a hat collector. 5

Had a nice dinner here recently..weve been here approximately...7? Times before. At the end of our meal, enjoying chatting, and finishing our drinks. The server approaches, tells us our table is reserved can we pay n go??? We pay and are quite shocked and more than a little offended...we leave thinking...never coming back....when leaving we saw no one waiting up front and several other booths empty...an upsetting end to a nice evening...I will say that they said sorry..but..after paying bill we will not be returning for an 8th time...I guess I can only say...if they offer you a small table ....accept it..or..be prepared to be kicked out quickly.....odd thing is...I asked table next to us were they told same she said no...no one asked us to leave...

My favourite little Mexican restaurant. Amazing food and a relaxed and funny atmosphere. Great drinks that make you want to order wayyy too many.

Although the restaurant gives you some awesome vibes with the decor, the chicken for the tacos was soooooo dry. I didn t bother to complain about it however when it was time to pay the server tried to charge me $26.95 for the tacos when the menu clearly stated $19.95 when I pointed this out he changed it to $21.95? Idk how that made sense when that s still more than what it costs (this is all pre tax) then came back again the THIRD time with the bill finally fixed. If I hadn t double checked I would ve paid extra. Food overall was mid especially for the price.

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst meals I have had in a very long time. Me and my daughter came for lunch, I ordered the vegan enchiladas and her the vegetarian chile relleno. The complimentary chips and salsa were to start, the chips were burnt and stale and the salsa tasted like it came from a package. When the vegan enchiladas arrived I was very surprised to notice their only filling was pico, which was more like a small amount of tomatoes with a few pieces of onion thrown into a corn tortilla, they were almost completely empty. The rice tasted like it had been microwaved, it was hard. My daughters dish was freezing cold in the middle and very soggy, the rice again, was hard, the whole dish tasted as it had been microwaved. Both dishes were basically inedible. We both left almost the entire plate. For the price, both the portion and the quality of food was very disappointing. Will not be returning.

Loud, watered down drinks, and my burrito only had chicken and cheese

You call this Mexican? You don t know Mexican food ! Stay away! Unless you re drunk it may taste good. The beans have been refried 1000 times so yeah they re really really refried

My friend booked this place for my birthday, it was a fun surprise. The live band was amazing and the atmosphere was great.

Food was very good, super fast and tasted really good. Service may have been the worst I have ever had. Astonishingly bad actually. If you want good food I would take out instead of wasting your time and paying for no service!

i normally never leave negative reviews but this place was a bit disappointing! the interior decor is so lovely and colourful and great music playing. however i found the food very disappointing and overpriced!!! everything had little to no seasoning. our server also left us waiting for the bill for so long and when we got up to pay we were told to sit down and just wait. then we clarified multiple times to pay separately for our own food (just 2 people) but the server just split it down the middle. however, the drinks were delicious- i had a mango daiquiri and the price for the small is decent. overall though it was mid-tier food & service but priced as higher tier :(

We went to celebrate a birthday and we had such a great time!!!! The service, atmosphere and food were amazing. I truly felt I was away on a holiday to Mexico. I can honestly say we will never forget how much we laughed and of course ate. Thank you Viva Mexico for a much needed break from life!!!!

The food is really good and the service is very quick. We went with a group of 20 people and we all got our food very quickly.

Only two tables occupied at lunch. That should have been a clue. They fooled with the music for 10 minutes before taking our order. Had to ask for ticket twice and that still took 5 minutes. Food was fair. Nobody cleaned their plate. No wonder they weren t busy.

Ordered take-out, chicken quesadillas and pork enchiladas. There was no more than a teaspoon of unseasoned meat in any of the entrees. Bland and extremely disappointing food for the price.

Tonight my boyfriend and I decided to go to my favourite Mexican restaurant in Langley city, there are a few similar restaurants within walking distance and upon arrival we considered switching it up, however I love consistency, and Im so very glad we didnt- nor will we ever feel the need to. Not only was it consistent with the amazing food that I was expecting but the service was impeccable. As we sat down chips and salsa were provided, our server was there a moment later and our food arrived less than 15 minutes after ordering, this all happened while the restaurant was busy! This is by far my favourite restaurant in Langley city and they proved it once again tonight

Really enjoy Mexican Food. Best Mexican Resturant been to in Lower Mainland. However, it can get really loud in there, and parking can be an issue. Wish they hours were longer. Enjoy the Live Music.

The restaurant has fantastic vibes and ambiance, accompanied by awesome music. However, Ive noticed a decline in food quality lately. The burrito size has noticeably shrunk, and the vegetarian option consists mainly of a salsa mixture (onions and tomatoes) with beans and rice on the side, topped with sauces. Personally, I prefer the veggie tacos, which are filled with onions, mushrooms, and peppers. Another thing we noted is like last 5-6 times we have been, they have been out of the jalapeño poppers, they should just remove them off the menu if they don t offer it anymore. On the bright side, the homemade hot sauces are still fantastic with great flavor! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian tacos are delicious and a great portion!

I used to love this place. food quality has declined. Both I and my fiance got sick after the meal here. The price doesnt match the quality. you have to season fish and shrimp! I could taste only frozen, chewy fish... Do you microwave the food? Id go to Cactus to be safe and for better drinks. Magarita is too sweet. I wonder whether they use too much sugary syrup. The music is the only good part. Thank you!

Food horrible, didnt arrive at the same time. By the time I got my food, my friend already had finished. The entire place smelled like they had sewage issues. Waited over 20 minutes just to get the bill and it wasnt busy.

Service is terrible. Was there on a Saturday at 4 PM, sat at our table for 25 minutes without even a drink order being taken. They are typically slow but this was insane.

Have gone here quite often and for many special occasions. Food it always good as well as the atmosphere. Sometimes, its a little bit loud but not really an issue. The last time we went, the service lacked a little bit, but we chalked it up to a busy night(even though its almost always busy). This time, like the last few times, we reserved and told them it was for a birthday. Our service was horrible right from the beginning. Our server spent the majority of her time playing on her IPad, drinks didnt all come at the same time and took forever still after waiting a long time for her to come back and point out that we were missing a drink. Had to wait and track her down whenever we needed another drink or anything else. Mentioned to her when we sat down that we were celebrating a birthday, and again, when we were waiting for our bill. She rushed to put something together for the birthday person which really felt like a fine here you go!. When trying to pay the bill she had problems using the machine and tried blaming it on my card so I appeased her and tried a different card with the same results. I asked if maybe I should go up front to pay as there is nothing wrong with my cards, to which I was told no, you will do it here. Finally paid and on the way out my wife had already tried to talk to the manager and said he didnt have anything to say. I went back in to talk to him and he came up with excuses and basically didnt care that he was loosing a customer after telling him that we like the food and atmosphere but were unhappy with the service. He half heartedly sort of apologized and said have a good night and walked away! Moral of the story is, guess were going to find another place to go!

Wow! The minute you walk in, you are in Mexico! Such a joyous, colorful atmosphere, even in the bathrooms, humourous sayings on the walls, music that just makes you want to tap your foot! But the FOOD! Omg, the food! Most authentic, yummy tummy.happiness of Mexican fare I have ever eaten! Even the chips and salsa they give you before the meal was freshly made (going back to store bought tortilla chips after experiencing that was hard!), I have never been to Mexico, the place, but now I can experience true Mexican cuisine and atmosphere right there in Langley, BC! I had the seafood enchiladas and it was fantastic! My go-to from now on when Im craving Mexican food!

First visit. Atmosphere very Mexican..bright cheery, welcoming. Server attentive, but forgot to bring lemons for the water otherwise wpuld have been a 5. The food was excellent in flavor, though I found the portions small. Also something was way too salty. Very thirsty all afternoon Food

It was not busy on a Wednesday night. 3 tables and us 1 waitress. We have eaten there lots in the past and was our go to Mexican food. But it has dramatically changed sadly. We had a ice cream cake that we asked to keep in the freezer but clearly was not. Portions are 1/2 of what they had been just more beans and rice. Still tastes good just smaller. In the past they would come out and sing happy birthday, this time the hats came out and she left. At the end of the night it was disorganized when it came to the bills. We are sad to see this happen the vally needs a truly good Mexican restaurant and this use to be the place. Now I just wonder how long before its gone.

Ordered platter so liked some more than others. Genuine Mexican food. Nachos were good. Restaurant is awesome but unknowingly went on of the nights with the live music. Don t get me wrong, they were enjoyable but if you want to talk to your fellow diners go on another night. WAY too loud. Vegetarian options: Lots to choose from. Kid-friendliness: Not really anything special for them to do (colouring pages would be super simple) and I didn t notice any kid combos but she was able to find something to eat off of our plates. Food we had was on the bland side, so good for kids, but there were spices on the table to use.

Great service , very friendly people and amazing margaritas. Only disappointment was the quantity and quality of food compared to a few years ago, it seems like the prices are the same but portions are half of what they used to be and quality is a bit down, not as fresh. I wish Viva the best

I booked a reservation in person for 14 people a month in advance and asked to be seated in the main area with the live band as this was for a birthday party. I called the day before and confirmed the reservation. However when we all showed up the staff and manager claimed we had no reservation and were extremely rude. Another large group were also told they had no record of their reservation. After waiting for around 20 minutes they seated us in a far back room with no music and no other people. We asked to be moved to the different room as this was not a fun atmosphere for a birthday party and you couldn t even hear the live band playing. Eventually they moved us, but again not to the main area like we had originally asked for over a month ago. Overall extremely poor customer service. Beware if you make a large party reservation.

The last two times I went within the last several months were terrible compared to last year. Im not sure if theyve changed management and chefs but everything was bad. The host seating us didnt smile or talk to us at all, just stared until we said how many people, and he quietly sat us down and left. The server took over 15 minutes to come to the table. It was not a busy night. Out of the whole restaurant, most of the tables were open. Different servers on both occasions, one of the times the server literally couldnt speak English. I had to point to things on the menu and then try to tell her what we wanted for sides/extras/substitutions. We ordered a drink and she said they didnt have it, even though it was on the menu, and they in fact it have it when I asked the supervisor who was standing close by. She didnt understand a word and kept looking at the other server, who had to continually translate. Last night the server didnt bring the chips or salsa theyre supposed to bring. He came to the table four times without doing so, although the other tables had them and their servers were bringing them the chips and salsa. I had to ask for it, and he begrudgingly went and got it. We had a table of five and quickly ran out, when he came back to the table they were gone and he looked at it and didnt bother to ask if we wanted more. He left the table and then we had to ask for more next time he returned, to which he basically rolled his eyes and huffed and went and got it. He was extremely slow and forgot a lot of things that we asked for specifically and we had to keep reminding him, and there were never any apologies. He didnt care. The food also is not what it used to be and took a really long time to get to the table. About 30 minutes after the drinks finally arrived which also took a long time. ALL the food was cold. Again it was not busy in this restaurant at all. Portions are smaller than what they used to be and the flavor is much blander. The chef didnt put cheese in my dish and it was supposed to come with cheese. There are so many mistakes and the servers seem like they didnt really care about actually serving us and didnt want to be there in both cases. Its too bad because my first time here was a completely different experience but it was a year ago so like I said, its possible that its all new stuff. Its definitely gone downhill. I sent a lot of people there and now I regret it and feel embarrassed that I did so, I hope they had a better experience than I did the last two times. Also the mug I was drinking out of was dirty. It looked like it had been dropped on the ground and had stuff all over the rim when it was brought to me. The menus look like drinks had been spilled on them and left to dry and then not wiped after and then just given to us sticky. Unfortunately wont be returning to this place, the atmosphere is really colorful and fun and the food and service used to be great. I will have to find a new Mexican restaurant thats better quality and has better service :( I would give one star but I gave the second one because the decor is still fun and colorful and they werent blaring techno/rave/club music at full volume last night compared to the last time I was in two months ago. The guacamole was decent and a good size for an appetizer. Everthing else was one star.

Made a reservation 2 weeks in advance for 17 people, they decided to seat us at 3 seperate tables with room for only 12 maybe 14 if we were squished. They put us right next to the stage where the music was so loud everyone had to scream to almost be heard, no chance of conversation or them hearing our orders. When asked if we could move to a quieter area (they had empty party room in back) they refused. They also refused to give us a bigger table to accommodate the 17 people on the reservation, we had a few people in our group have to leave because they had no seating. We all ended up leaving and still had to pay for drinks that no one even finished. Very unimpressed and upset. What was supposed to be a nice birthday celebration was derailed and we all had to leave and go home because of their poor planning. They missed out on an $800-&1000 bill and repeat customers. We will be taking our business to the Mexican place next door in the future.

So absolutely disappointed. Booked my 38th birthday party for 17 people. Called 2 weeks ahead to reserve. They took reservation. Showed up, and they had only enough tables to seat 14 squished together. They expected us to squeeze another 3 in there. Impossible. We asked about another table adjacent, and were told no, you cant sit there. Then the manager came over, and told us theres nothing they could do. There was literally not enough room to sit. Never mind trying to eat. We asked about sitting on the other side of the restaurant, where they had banquet area. A manager said no. They were too busy. Which we didnt understand. But its what they decided. So we paid for our drinks and left. They were unwilling to compromise or make a change. So they lost out on a large party. This is the first time Ive ever not had a great time there, so Im massively disappointed. They have essentially ruined my birthday. Where else can we go with 17 people?

Live music was amazing

If I could give this restaurant a zero star, I would. I get that some people like a lively environment but it was so loud to the point staff can t hear your order. Honestly, the service was terrible. Not only did they get almost every order wrong, they wouldn t even try to help fix it and get mad that you wanted the correct order (our server essentially was arguing with us). They then offered to give us a free margarita, churros, and a discount which we thought was fine. When we got our bill, they told us since everything got messed up, they took the churros and margarita off and no discount on the bill. Like yeah, I hope we are getting the churros and margarita off, we didn t even order them! In fact, we mentioned not wanting any more food but they really forced it onto us. The cherry on top was that our server never owned up to any of their mistakes, and instead blamed the new runner. The experience was unbelievably horrible and we are never coming back. If you go here, I hope your experience is better than ours. Best of luck.

It has been 2 and a half years since our last visit. This visit showed how they have greatly improved their processes. From the person who greets you and seats you promptly to the servers who are there to take care of your drinks and provide you time to review menu, to taking our order. The food arrived nice and hot and was delicious. It was such a change from our last visit. All I can say to Viva Mexico is congratulations on all your changes for the better. We will be back! Parking: The one way street is often busy but we found parking okay on this visit.

We went on a Saturday night for dinner and they had a live band. It was fun and customers were dancing and singing with the band so it was very entertaining. The food was really great! We ordered the combo for two and it has a little bit of everything from the a la carte menu. For us, it was too much food for my boyfriend and I, so it was worth it. The mocktail strawberry margarita i got was so good and i love how the serving was huge! Highly recommend if you are craving for mexican food.

I have been to this place a few times and normally its pretty good, however the food and service when I went recently was not good. The restaurant was not busy at all and it somehow still took a very long time to receive our food. The fish in the fish and chips was awful and the chicken in my chimichanga tasted dry and bland like it was frozen and reheated. The only reason I give the food a second star is the tortilla soup and drinks were good. The server barely said a word to us and had a hard time understanding when someone asked for modifications due to a restricted diet. We sat and waited for 20-30 minutes once our table was cleared and ended up going up to the front to ask for our bills. I was not impressed with this experience.

came here for the first time, the hostess had a bit of sass when it came to how she looked at people. which wasn t very welcoming. we sat for 30 minutes before even getting our order taken. thankfully the food came fast and was very good. but don t go if you re in a rush. the servers don t seem to make rounds very often

Tried the website to order take out, wasnt working so we called the restaurant. They wouldnt take an order by phone and said we could only get some take out by coming to order directly at the restaurant. My husband shows up 5 min later to order at the restaurant and was quite rudely refused to order take out. Terrible customer service.

should have been zero for service. I was just there with a friend few minutes ago. We didnt have a reservation and the host said theres a 20-25min wait. Theres a lady and guy ahead of us, waiting. Three more people came and they didnt have a reservation as well. The host looked at us and checked if were not listening to their conversation and LET THE 3 NEW PEOPLE IN. We immediately left the restaurant with a big disbelief of what just happened.

The original taco chicken meat is plain. Just white bland chicken. Only if you put hot sauce on it it is good.

When we received our order did not look correct. While eating a mouse came to visit us on the booth. No manger available, waitress did not care. Definitely will not be returning

Took 10 mins for them to even come over to us after I had asked for a highchair no hi hello how are you, just you ready? we got there at 630 it took over an hour for our appy to come out which was just chips cheese tomatoes and Gauc not to mention drinks had already come out wrong finally 8 pm comes around and our food comes out but all at different times and all comes out wrong and cold . All they could do for us was give us 4 dollars off of a 160 dollar bill won t be back, horrible service I ve worked in the service industry for 10 years and this place has no idea what their doing

Food was really mid. As a Mexican im not sure if I call it offensive but like, Ive had waaaay better. The vibe was really good and the restaurant is big and clean and that hyped me up for the meal before I took a bite and was like Its lacking flavor. The horchata was really good though and the waiters were nice.

We entered the restaurant and no one greeted us for at least 10 minutes even though they saw us standing there. They just passed by us like we were ghosts! I was dumbfounded! Also, no one even acknowledged my mom s birthday which I clearly wrote on the reservation so that sucked. Food was absolutely disgusting! Wouldn t even serve it to my dog! Way too overpriced for what it was. Will not be returning or recommending to others. Stay far away from this place & go to the place next door instead!

I at at this place with my friend for lunch yesterday and had diarrhea 6 times by midnight. My friend said she was on the toilet when I was testing her about it. And she had to go twice while getting her nails done after lunch. I barely made it to the washroom twice during my walk. And if that want bad the food was honestly the worst I d ever had. Not sure what the hell cam in the enchiladas but there was nothing barely in them and the tacos we charged were same thing. I would be ashamed to serve good like that to my customers! Couldn t pay me to eat there! Probably the second worst food I ve eatten in my lifetime and I m 51!!!

Ambience is great. Service was quite poor, at least what we received from Amanveer Singh tonight. 1. We asked for 6 glasses of water at the start. They didnt come. When asked in the end, he only brought 3 glasses. I mean cmon if you have to ask for water 3 times, thats just sad. 2. He picked up the plate from the table that I was eating off of without asking. Basic etiquettes missing. A simple question whether I can pick up this plate or are you done with this, doesnt hurt! 3. One person from our table ordered club soda, which he completely forgot about and then 20 minutes later he comes back saying they are out of club soda and then took another 20 minutes to bring iced tea. Very unprofessional and unwilling to take feedback. When feedback was given he got very defensive and was quite un appreciative over all.

If I could rate -1 I would.. very disappointed in the service , went for dinner Friday night .. waiter comes 10 min later ask for two Heineken . Guy says get a bucket it s cheaper .. comes back with two .. ok Order quesadilla and beef tacos .. food comes out hard crusty shell cold nothing in it but cheese pressed together !! Then the taco meat was old like it was in the frying pan all day !!! The bean dip was bland and the rice on the side was hard and uncooked !? How do you serve public like this and expect returning customers ? Last night a had dierea till 4am !! If I am sick I will be contacting the Canadian food inspection agency for your horrible establishment . Not happy

I visited Viva Mexico last week for the first time and I just had to leave a review. The food was excellent as well as the atmosphere. I felt like I was in Mexico. The Margherita was very large and a double shot. I cant wait to go back next time I am in Langley.

The food here is mediocre. We ordered one plate of enchiladas and one pork burrito and they looked the same. The restaurant was empty and yet we still waited a long time for our food. The service was friendly but as the music was too loud and the food was just okay, I would not return.

My first visit and I felt like I was in Mexico, when friends saw my posts they thought so too. The vibes were great, the drinks were cold and the food was really tasty. All the staff were happy and we had a wonderful time! Will definitely be back!!

For a period of time we were the only people in the restaurant, the waiter took our order, brought our food and was not seen again; he never came and refilled our drinks, was very delayed in bringing our bill and then told us what we owed without allowing us to see a bill .

Ate here 6 months ago, the food was flavorless, small portions sizes and cold. I do like the large restaraunt seating, decor, and convenience of everything, but the food is not very good. I am being generous with the 3 stars. Although service and atmosphere were the only good parts. There are way better places to eat in the area like Venetis and Adelicias.

Too loud

Used to love this place but when we ordered takeout on July 15 it was a disaster. When we got there 20 mins after ordering it was not ready. No big deal but we had to wait another 45 mins after that. Manager promised a refund but none came. We were given a gift card that I dont want to use since the food we opened up at home was 1/10 quality. The quesadilla was just cheese and chicken, maybe a few onions? I was starving so I ate it but Im dissapointed that they lied to us about the refund and that the food quality was so poor after waiting so long to get it. Maybe dine in is the ticket so you can hold them accountable if your food sucks.

Food is horrible. Supreme burrito looked like a pancake. Pulled pork tasted like week old dried meat. $60 for me and my wife, just food. $20 at mucho burrito would ve been way better food and 1/3 of the cost.

If you dont like your drink and you ask for it to be remade they just put it in another glass and bring it back. I find that rude and careless of customer requests.

Ordered for take out and Ill never again. Going into the restaurant is great, take out you pay the same amount for 1/2 the amount of food. Absolutely pathetic.

I was there for cinco de Mayo and this is a definitely authentic Mexican food!! I just had a blast and people were extremely friendly, fun and helpful with everything!! Food was amazing and drinks were just so pretty and tasty and I dance my night away!! Highly recommended

Read in a local group about all the negative experiences here lately. Its a shame that restraunts and customer service isnt what it used to be. Vincente seems like a terrible server and should find a new job, you can thank him for this review - as well as the poor new management for replying to the young ladys message about her experience. A group of us went for our friends #19 birthday. Vicente was our server. He definitely did not like his job or he did not want to work that night. He was hunched over the front counter when we walked in. We asked for a table and he gruffly told us to follow him. We were surprised at the lack of enthusiasm, but we were not going to let his disposition bring us down. We ordered drinks and the birthday girls drink tasted horrible - it had come separated, even after stirring. She mentioned to Vicente and he did not care. She asked for a different drink and he told her she would have to pay for both. That was his response! Not, sure we can replace it. Nothing. We are all servers at other restaurants ourselves and pride ourselves on good service. When she asked for a strawberry margarita, he said he would bring her cut up strawberries and she could put them in her drink! He then said to us What do you want to eat? Hurry up. We ordered our food because we still did not want to have her night ruined, but then called him back and cancelled the order. He then proceeded to tell my friend she had to pay for the drink that had separated and when she refused, he yelled at her, so I paid for it. In retrospect, we should have walked out and only paid for the other drinks that we drank. He also put 18% tip into the machine when he handed it to us (only 4 of us) and we told him he was not getting a tip and we cancelled it out. We asked for a Manager and were told that there was not one working that evening (August 2 ). I messaged the owner the next day and no reply. We left and went to Earls and the server rocked it! Fantastic food and service. Highly recommend. We have eaten at Hugos multiple times - if one wants Mexican food in the Surrey/Langley area - Hugos will not disappoint. Do not waste your hard-earned money at Viva Mexico.

Quality has really declined. Quesdilla consisted of dry shredded chicken with virtually no seasoning, the shrimp in the enchiladas were tiny and of freezer bag quality. Rice and refried beans were good though. Decor is really nice and colourful. Service is friendly. But there are way better Mexican restaurants in the area.

august 2023. family dinner 9 people i got overruled. Servers did a really bad job then they automatically get an 18% tip? they have no incentive cause they get 18% anyway if more than 6 people. 2023 ordered takeout. very unimpressed. I cut into my almost cold vegetarian enchilada to find it contained salsa, thats all. The other people were not impressed either food cold. There was a generous container of fresh guacamole and a second of salsa and a 3rd with about 15 tortilla chips. We wont be ordering again. 2019 Have eaten here several times and food is good, portions large - pricey though. Good vegan options. Several of the servers lack enthusiasm. I ordered coffee and there was no cream on the table so when coffee was served, I asked for cream. None brought. When coffee was refilled promptly by another server, i again asked for cream. None brought. Second prompt refill - no cream again. Were they out of cream??? Why not just say so??? Frankly it is easy to drink good coffeee black, but this wasnt.

Made a reservation online for noon, got a text confirmation. Arrived with my whole group of 7 and the restaurant was closed. A cleaning lady told us it doesnt open till 4pm. Even google says it opens at noon.

Neat little place with live music. There s an entire menu for drinks alone! The food was delicious and the drinks were average, wanted a Bellini but the server said they were unable to make that because the machine wasn t running. Very accommodating though.

I loved this restaurant. The food, the atmosphere on weekends with live music. I give two starts because I saw a mouse next to my table. I told the waitress about it, and he closed the doors and that s it. I told another waitress about it, and he apologized for not handling the situation.

I was so excited for this place but my service was not good and when I didn t like my drink the guy asked me why? and was very rude and I m not a mean person my friend had to step in and take over will not go again.

Came in very hungry and high expectations of this place and it let me down . I got these chips that were given to someone prior... It still had soggy chips there and some still had bite marks.. the food was microwaved.. if the plate is hot means ? The tortillas ends on my enchiladas was hard. Like you know, when you put them in the microwave a couple of times . Service was awesome and the place looks nice.

Getting the food was timely. Removing the dirty dishes was terrible. Between 30 and 40 minutes looking at dirty dishes in front of us. Finally I moved some of them to an empty table myself. Drinks slow. Could not taste any tequila in their margarita. The ceviche was minuscule and mostly salsa, little shrimp. Meat in the Fajita was scarce . Prices super expensive for simple Mexican food. Ambiance was very good. The built in 18% gratuity for a group of 12 people was not worth it.

Their service is Amazing. They serve complimentary chips and salsa which is so flavourful. For main we ordered chicken enchiladas and shrimps tacos. They come with a side of beans and Mexican rice which tastes absolutely delicious. Restaurant is fully Mexican vibe with the best customer service.

New manager Carlos does not bring a welcoming, friendly environment. We were regulars at Viva, but after being spoken to in such a dismissive, rude and condescending way, we unfortunately will not be going back. Dont try to use your entertainment book coupon there if you are wanting to split the bill with your party, he will not agree to the statement on the back of per table, per bill. We will be looking for another local Mexican restraint, if you have any suggestions.

Amazing beverages and great service!

The food was okay but the service was horrible. Came here today for my birthday with family. My aunt had an allergic reaction (keep in mind she s only allergic to shell fish and none of us at our table ordered anything shellfish). My aunt had to leave the restaurant to get her epi pen and I believe it was the owner who followed her out and basically blamed her for the cooks cross contaminating

Beautiful and colourful decor. Bland and tasteless food. Ordered ceviche Acapulco-all you could taste was lime juice, shrimp rubbery, brownish guac. What a disgrace to Mexican cuisine

The restaurant was busy, which speaks volumes about the food. However, I found the service somewhat lacking, also with the volume of the music and everyone trying to speak over it, it was quite loud and it was hard to carry a conversation.

I went to this place on November 10 with my family. We ordered tamales but they were hot on the outside and cold inside. Also, they were soggy. The drinks we ordered took too long to get to us and the music was loud. The service is VERY slow, our waiter didnt know the menu and the owner of the restaurant was dancing in the middle of the restaurant with very loud music while there were customers that werent being attended.

We went to this restaurant a year ago, and really loved it back then. Im not sure what happened, but theyre not so good anymore. The food portions are smaller, and the quality of food went down. We went there with friends because we wanted to recommend this restaurant to them for their upcoming event, but they were disappointed too. We had two platters for 2 and the food was mediocre at best.

Unfortunately this place could have potential...but the food is microwaved and the service was next to non existent. Wasnt a busy night and they didnt even ask for refills or a simple hows the food. This is now the 3rd time Ive given them a chance....so this isnt based on 1 event here. So this will be the last time I come for microwaved food. Try harder

Perfect place to visit in Langley

Great atmosphere and music. We went for a bday celebration and they sure made it special for the birthday guest. Lots of fun and good music. Servers were nice and courteous. Food is not the greatest but you get what you pay for. Would definitely go back for the fun atmosphere.

Some of the flavours: The Chile relleno was quite good plus the beans and rice were a good complement, the fajitas were great but missing complements, the ceviche was nice, and the burro was huge. The atmosphere I would have prefer more mexican music And the service was great, also I loved when they spoke Spanglish so you could learn Spanish words (in case you dont know them, they so nicely answered your questions)

Quite possibly the single WORST service I have ever had. In a more or less empty restaurant and after 20 mins she still hadnt take our drink order. I cant even speak for the food as the service was the equivalent of a Mexican outhouse. Worst ever. If you want an infinitely better time go to El Campeneros in Abbotsford. Im glad we did. But never.... ever go to viva Mexico if you dont have a year to wait foe the waitress to figure out how to do her job.
