Me and my girlfriend come here once a week it s that good. The staff here are amazing. Everytime we leave we re sad to go but also leaving with a smile! Thanks Umami:)

Very good place for sushi

Finally a sushi restaurant from Langley that will give your more than enough food when you order take outs. I paid 33 included tax for a dinner bento and they gave me so much food, i had left over. Which is great because i went to another sushi restaurant and for 25, they gave me a bento box thats the size of a tv dinner tray...

My husband and I always get take out at Umani. But today I decided to celebrate my birthday there with some friends. The food was amazing the customer service it was incredible. They always really kind and nice one of my favorite restaurants in Langley. Vegetarian options: There are many options Dietary restrictions: I am vegan and I had few great options there.

They don t serve you 30 minutes prior to their closing time. You can only do takeout. Then make that very clear in your hours of operation. Ridiculous!

Would never recommend the teriyaki salmon dinner. The salmon was over cooked & rubber in texture. The whole meal was a waste of $22, I couldnt even eat the food. Dont waste your money, many better places to eat at.

The sushi is so fresh and good! My new favorite place. Unfortunately Ive noticed alot of sushi places will be great then slowly drop their quality. I hope this place keeps the quality high! So delicious!

Honestly, as someone who works in this plaza and spends more money than I d like on takeout food, this place is a winner. Their prices are better than most of the other options, the food is prepared fresh to order, the ladies there are SO nice. I often don t spend more than $15 for a complete meal. I really enjoy them. I encourage you to give this place a chance, even one time. (Pls note my meal is 1/2 eaten in this pic)

Yakitori was tender but plain chicken with a dribble of sauce over top and not as good as Sushi Moris, which is chunky, a little chewy and cooked in a great tasting sauce with extra on top.

The best little sushi restaurant in Langley. The food is super flavorful and fresh, plus the sushi is made to order by their in-house sushi chef. The staff are very friendly and ensure your experience is the best. I highly recommend if you want a bite to eat for lunch or looking for a place to dine for dinner.

Ive been to this restaurant many times, and it is one of my favourites so far. The staff are kind, the food is so good, and the decorations really make it perfect. The way the food is arranged on the plate is very beautiful. They do dine-in and take-out for whatever youre feeling. If you havent tried sushi or are looking for a good lunch with family or by yourself, you should try this place!

Had Ton Katsu and some sushi rolls here, the place looks authentic, the sushi rolls were ok, but unfortunately the Ton Katsu is subpar. The pork pieces were thin and dry, the breading was not crunchy but hard. Maybe I should stick with sushi or rolls only if I come again Food : 3/5

Came in today desperately needing lunch! We almost went to the Opa in resignation from nothing being available. My wife suggested we try Umami. Was glad we did. Ended up the lunch special was cheaper than Opa would have been and way better food, almost too much food. Excellent service. What s not to love. The place is brisk. But the service is prompt and very friendly. Would come back anytime! Congratulations Umami, you re doing a great job!

I went in for lunch by myself and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. My food came out very quickly and everything was exactly as I expected it to be. My mother called while I was waiting for my food, so I ended up on the phone for the majority of my visit, which I dont like to do, but the staff were very polite and didnt seem offended that I was on my phone. I will definitely be back.

I ordered their yakitori(chicken skewer) and the inner part of the chicken was raw.

I ordered the salmon teriyaki and there was 0 flavor.

This is my new go-to. The hostess greeted a few of the other customers by name as they entered, and I took this as a good sign. This place has many repeat customers.

Went out to dinner with my daughter and bf tonight and was fairly disappointed. Although the cooked food was ok the raw sushi was no good. My bf packed it up to bring home for his dog. I enjoyed my dinner but was disappointed in there service. We all had ordered a dinner box and me not being a big eater packed most of it to go. We all packed out food to go, the servers seemed annoyed and scoffed me when I asked for take out containers. With the amount of food we had we were brought 3 of there smaller containers. Expecting us to smush it all into one container each. Im not about to packed my tempura, with my salad, along with my teriyaki and California roll. I had to ask multiple times when it came to getting containers for my miso soup. I needed 2, both of which came all wet, indicating to me that they rinsed off used ones. I grew tired of asking and left it on the table and left. Very disappointing.

Went here for a bite with the fam. Mid week 7ish not very busy. Good service. Polite servers. The food was great, well presented. In my opinion slightly more expensive then other sushi restaurants, but you get what you pay for!

bad sushi.....i mean really bad......i was there last week ...the Nigiri sushi is very small compared to other sushi restaurants in langley, the deep fried items are greasy because they have not changed their deep fryer oil in a long time and if you go to restaurant inspections you can read 2 critical hazards regarding sanitization: Critical Hazards: Total Number: 2 302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)] 401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)] Maru Sushi is way better!............. UPDATE: went there today and for sure no more!......same bad service same rude lady waitress, no tip for her!......and the sushi hasnt changed same small and greasy stuff........also try Tokyp Hon sushi on 64th very good!!!.....

My experience at the restaurant was intolerable. The waitress repeatedly mocked and laughed at the accents of some customers, totally lack of respect. I will not be returning to this place in the future.

I had tried real crab meat sushi it was good but could have been better. I really liked the chicken yakisoba. The staff working there are very courteous and kind people. I would suggest you to stop by at Umami whenever around that area :)

Everything was very good. My son has a California roll and miso soup and I had a dynamite roll. Both were delicious.

I ordered the volcano roll online for pickup. I got there early so I was fine to wait. But about 2 or 3 minutes after I got there the chefs said volcano roll and the hostess grabbed the box and put it to the side. I figured it wasnt mine... but after waiting 7 or 8 minutes she handed it to me which was annoying because I was sitting there already. The roll was well put together and the ingridients seemed to be good quality but I didnt like something that was in it. Not sure if Ill go again.

Thin slices of Sockeye salmon teriyaki don and salmon teriyaki. They dont come with soup but come with fresh varieties of cooked Vegetables. Good tasting California roll. Rice bowel could have been topped up.

Hands down, one of, if not the best sushi in the region. I mean there are other high quality restaurants, but Uyamu Sushi never disappoints after 10 years of eating their sushi. Wild salmon, high quality fish, and other products drive the taste to the next level. The spicy tuna sashimi is the best around, that I am firm on. Great service and good atmosphere, too.

Beautiful restaurant, with equally beautiful atmosphere. Been going there for past 2 years with my family. During the day an energetic music plays and during the night quiet piano pieces are played. Overall good place to chill with friends and family alike. Food is delicious too. Vegetarian options: There are some veggie rolls and some salads that one may order. Parking: It s located within other stores which all share one big parking lot. Kid-friendliness: The got baby chairs and fan accommodate large groups for birthday parties

Worst sushi place - Teriyaki beef was so bland and overpriced. Ordered from Skip as it had a 10/10 rating. I am suprised to see such a high rating here , do not see the owners dont respond to customer reviews good or bad.

Its a fairly standard sushi place that has a good variety of menu. Nothing outstanding though, and the maki rolls of salmon that I ordered was rolled way too tiny, and not in a presentable way. The udon was hot and tasty.

This is my all-time favourite restaurant! We drive here from Coquitlam just to get the infamous Phoenix Roll. The servers and chefs are top notch. Good sized portions, never stingy with ingredients. The sashimis are massive. You will not be disappointed!

Amazing! The food was delicious, good portions for the price, and the waitress was wonderful! The stinky roll was phenomenal and I recommend it to anyone who likes scallops and lightly seared garlic. Everyone including my girls LOVED the food here. Will be back on our next trip down to the coast.

This place is a little gem in Langley! Plenty of food and it was delicious and the prices decent compared to other places around. Thumbs up to their staff too theyre super nice and friendly. Definitely its my new fav from now on.

Although Im pretty loyal to Sushi Shun in Cloverdale I have to say that Umami is also very good.

Food was mostly alright , very skimpy on the sauces and not even a golf ball size of rice . I probably wouldnt go back . Very average and forgettable .

Amazing sushi

We stopped here on a whim after going to Best Buy. Wow! Wish I d known this place existed sooner! The rolls have the most beautiful presentation and are just wonderful! My husband s Udon was equally fantastic. I also noted a large table, Japanese style but with space for legs to dangle, was available for groups.

Great miso..great prawn tempura..had a roll with blue cheese, also very nice...not cheap.. june 29/22 same great prawn tempura but I had a dynamite roll which was chockablock full of imitation crab. Very disappointing.

Bland, not fresh & expensive! Service was extremely slow and when you finally got their attention, they were rude.

Fresh and delicious sushi here! Yum.Yum. Will be back again for sure. Service was great and overall it was a nice lunch date at Umami Sushi. Convenient location too as near the Langley Wal-Mart and I did a grocery shop after lunch.

We ordered the yam&prawn tempura, chicken yakisoba, deep friend cali roll, and a chicken teriyaki roll. Honestly, the tempura was the best part of the order, it was crunchy and cooked perfectly. However the yakisoba was flavourless, as well as the chicken teriyaki.. not enough flavour at all. It tasted very plain and bland.. The deep fried cali roll was pretty good but honestly still kindof tasteless i think most of the flavour came from the spicy mayo i requested ontop.. I prefer SushiCo allllllll the way. They also have a bigger selection for special rolls and i find they have bigger flavour. I dont think ill be ordering from Umami again, and i dont recommend. My mom even said she could make a tastier yakisoba herself! We were pretty disappointed with the taste of everything.

Hands down the best sushi in town! Fish is fresh and the sauces are excellent! I drive out of my way to go to Umami. The updated flooring looks great guys!!

You look at the outside and you think strip mall sushi ? Should I dare ? Do i have tums? But if you can get past the visage, this has to be one of my favourite sushi restaurants, the rolls are generous and delicious. fantastic chunks of fish and not overly covered by rice. I was so sad when I left my favourite sushi place and moved from new west, finding this place made me a believer there is good sushi on this side.

The portions are decent and the rolls were great. The server messed up our order but the staff were very nice and quickly make the correction. The dinner box was a good size with good variety.

I ve tried many sushi restaurants around the BC lower mainland and found that Umami is consistent in taste and customer service...the portions have become a little smaller but the FLAVOUR IS ALL THERE!

Their food is good quality for its price even during Covid. Their service is amazing. They are super covid friendly, they even take your phone number down just in case and they use everything disposable! So awesome. I feel safe eating here and would eat again! The food tasted great and came out super fast as well. My only suggestion eould be to add more rice for the bento box.

Excellent food and service every time! Their volcano roll and sunset rolls are must try. Huge portions and they are currently serving food in disposable container even for dine in, so its clean and gives you peace of mind. Highly recommend if youre in the Langley area!
