We had an incredible experience here. The portions are very generous and the food is the best Thai I’ve had outside of Thailand. Very highly recommended.
First time here and we were impressed. Got a 5 pm reservation and needed it. Steady flow of people coming is a good sign. The service was fast and efficient and everyone liked their dishes. The meals were all hot so not sitting in the kitchen. You can have them mild, medium or hot and each dish was prepared to our heat preference perfectly. We will return! They have a medium sized restaurant and have taken over the adjacent space to expand, maybe twice as large. Parking is on the street but plenty of it. Got a high chair for the squirt and all was well. Recommend👍
If you haven’t been to Langley’s Ban Chok Dee restaurant, you’re missing out! Visually stunning and even more stomach pleasing. Ban Chok Dee is our go-to in Langley and the best Thai food we’ve ever tasted. My colleagues constantly rave about how delicious the food and drinks are here 🍹 My husband ordered Pad Thai and I got the Cashew Nut chicken with a couple of cheeky white sangrias.. we discovered this place in 2020 while looking at highly rated restaurants in the area, and it’s the best gem we’ve ever found.
Absolutely terrible service today, we were there for a dining time of 50 minutes not too short not too long. We felt like we were a bother and got pestered over 8-9 times if we were finished eating, that isn’t service that’s supervising. The restaurant wasn’t even full yet and no other table was asked this frequently. Finally when the bill came we paid for it and then the server came back and said it was $20 short but they had just brought back the wrong receipt as the bank statement and invoice after showed the correct amount WITH standard % tip too. We won’t be coming back if this is the level we can expect, we had fond memories of this place prior to this as it was one of our first dates here. Food was mostly good and drink was very delicious though. Props to the kitchen staff.
Starting with the food; We had the Green Curry (Beef), Drunken Noodles (Chicken) and Satay. The satay skewers were great and had a lot of meat on them. Probably more than I’ve ever had at a Thai restaurant. The green curry was good, a bit runny and the beef was not the best I’ve had. My wife switched plates with me and loved it though. The drunken noodles were amazing and came out hot and spicy with great flavour! The service was great. Came at dinner time on a Sunday and were sat at our choice of seat (we chose the patio). Order was take quickly and food came out likewise. A great service experience. The atmosphere on the patio is charming and rustic with live plants and soft music. All in all a great experience and one of go to restaurants in the Fraser Valley. Picture of the satay is missing 3 skewers because we couldn’t wait to try them! 😂
We came with a large group of 9 people so had a chance to order multiple dishes. Most of us are Asian and very familiar with Thai food, we had visitors from Asia visiting us, and we wanted to treat them to a great meal.. The sampler was ok. The Red Curry Chicken was very nice, the Papaya salad was tasty, and the Pineapple Fried Rice was good too - good portions too. The Fried Snapper was disappointing (more batter than fish). The Spicy Calamari were very small pieces and a bit soggy (probably due to the wet garnish on the plate). The Pad Thai was ok, but a bit surprised the noodles were thinner than we expected. Deserts were ok. So overall, we were a bit disappointed treating our guests to Thai food, hence we only give 3 stars. It's a nice place, and staff are very pleasant. Perhaps we were just unlucky this time.
Food is good (Patsara is better). Setup is good, nothing outstanding. Service is terrible! They forgot my beer, then forgot about the nampra and then the bill. Maybe bill took time but definitely forgot the other two. Apologizing with a smile is fine the first time, second time it's like completely ignored. Too much coconut flavor in everything. I was in Thailand for 1 year, never seen coconut cream/flavor in every dish. Only thing I liked was calamari which is not a Thai specialty anyway. Better to avoid during rush hours maybe... Food didn't feel top off the line, service ensured I am not going there again.
Came here for dinner on a weekday, there were 3 adults and 2 kids. Had reservations for dinner as this place filled up quickly. We ordered a few dishes to share, including an appy platter. The food was good and each dish was a nice size portion. The green curry was probably the star dish of the evening as the flavors were on point along with the requested medium spice level. The dishes we ordered were quite expensive for what it was though, for example, the green curry with tofu was $25.50. This definitely isn't a place you'd regularly go to for dinner unless you don't care about saving money. The service was okay, the soup came to our table about 15 minutes after 3 of the 4 dishes arrived at our table and the server checked up on us once to see how everything was, which was before we even got the soup. Then the next time anyone checked up on us, it was when we were done and ready for the bill. All in all, it's a decent Thai food spot and a spot that you should try at least once if you're in the area. 2024/09/23 Came here on a Sunday evening for dinner, 5 adults and 2 kids. The food was good and the service was relatively the same as the last, all dishes arrived relatively at the same time, except for one dish, which arrived about 10-12 minutes after the majority of the dishes arrived. The good thing is that the dishes have been consistent the two times I have been here and dinner times tend to get busy at this place.
Food was great! Really loved the Pad See Eew. Service was fast and friendly.
We dined in with friends who drove from Vancouver and Maple Ridge while we came from Hope. Every one of us thought it was well worth the drive! Shared appetizers and each had an entrée - fantastic! The service was friendly and fast and efficient. A little squishy and noisy, but its a popular place so of course. Thai is usually too spicy for me but they accommodated me easily. GO! You wont be disappointed!
Delicious food Fast great service
They Catered our Christmas party and everything was amazing, spicy and fresh.
Best Thai food I have ever had!!! Veggie spring rolls, chicken pad Thai and chicken green curry are a must
The red curry with tofu was fire! Get it extra spicy, medium is like mild. Tom Kha Gai soup was also amazing - the broth carried. The chicken satay was also a winner with the peanut sauce!
The food was amazing and well presented. We had Pad Thai and Ban Chok Chow Mein. As well as the cocktails were so delicious! Food
Great Thai food, great portions but more expensive. My wife and I share soup, salad and pad Thai. We always leave full and satisfied, the only thing Im not a fan of is $4.50 cans of pop.
Excellent place! I loved it
Why did you change your Pad See Ew!!?? I ve had it for the last 5 years and the last 3 times we ve ordered this it s been terrible. What happened to your sauce? It use to be dark and flavourful and now it s light and the sauce barley covers the noodles. The noodle consistency has been awful, mushy and clumpy. I m so disappointed this was one of my favourite spots
Ordered curry coconut chicken . Very good. Very pricey but taste good
Delicious Thai food and big portions
Every item on the menu is delicious . If you re tryna have a meal that s gonna make you feel good, this is the spot
Had a great family dinner here. Delicious food and great service.
Best Lettuce Wraps I have ever had! More than enough of the tasty crunchy filling than a full half a head of lettuce was barely enough. Drunken noodles with beef also very tasty!Great attentive, but not intrusive service. Best Thai food in the valley here!
The best Thai food ever!!!
Been to countless Thai restaurants in the past. This is the most overrated and overpriced restaurant we experienced with extremely poor service and food. It was hard to believe that these folks have 1600 reviews and it almost felt like that it is too good to be true and mostly fake reviews. Being vegetarian Thai restaurants are meant to have lot more options and yet they didnt have much to offer and food quality was garbage. Spring rolls were floating in oil and over done. Curry ordered was half cooked and terrible coconut rice and tasted nothing like authentic Thai cuisine. Very disappointed and never returning to this pathetic restaurant again. Servers here never bothered following up after initial delivery or even bothered asking whether how was the service or food. All they seem to cared about waiting tables with higher people count and focused more on heavy traffic tables. The only thing we liked about this restaurant is convenient parking hence a rating of 1 otherwise negative rating if we could on Google.
Beautiful restaurant and food as always. Go here a lot. Love the Tom Yum goong Soup, the drunken Noodles, crying tiger salad , chicken Satay, spring rolls, Thai fried rice, BBQ Duck lychee nut curry and the seafood combo dish is awesome. They also have the best Mango Sticky Rice I have ever had. Try something new, dont be boring and get the Pad Thai everytime. When getting a spice level get the right amount not the white amount! Vegetarian options: Just add no protein or tofu!
I love the authentic tasty Thai food Been here over 10 years as a customer. After many years I chose to sit in, did not enjoy the experience. Waitress did not come & as k for beverages throughout dinner except, are you done? Quickly rushed food out within ten minutes & no check ins. I think they are a giving like a chain, push you out asap. Usually I expect a dinner to be 2.5 hours. We spent over 100 each & were out within 1 hour. We felt rushed, no check in s Had to ask for beverage & my bill to wait to check out. Few years
Great curry dishes!
Vegans and Vegetarians - beware!! Trusted the reviews and ratings and took my father here for his 64th birthday. Food tasted like hay (excessive salt in an otherwise flavourless, stale papaya salad, overcooked soggy crispy noodles and sugar syrupy vegetables on the side). Negligent, borderline short tempered staff while taking orders and serving, one literally lost her cool while we asked for the bill. Never going back but please save your time, self respect and appetite for some place better. Thank me later.
A little dark in lighting (unless thats what theyre going for?) and a little expensive but the portion size is good.
Really delicious food and generous portions.
Ive lived in Thailand and can say from experience, the food here is authentic and delish. Prices for meals is fine. Great option to downsize an evening meal in a smaller and less expensive lunch dish. Thai tea was delish butt VERY overpriced. Its just tea and sweetened condensed milk folks!
This is definitely a gem! Each dish tasted unique and had alot of great flavor. Set the standard The pad thai, pork skewers, fried rice and papaya salad were definitely a hit!
Love this food. Vegan options. Vegetarian options: Vegan options Food : 5/5 |
Amazing food. Fast service. Packed so make a reservation
Been wanting to try here for months!!! Ended up ordering takeout. Ordered the the chok dee platter for appetizer to have the chance to try more of their food - I liked the satays, delicious and well cooked. The fried wontons was pretty cool but kind of just tasted like a meatball in a crispy shell, and the spring rolls are similar to the average Joe. However the noodle dishes were quite tasty, not too greasy, al dente well cooked noodles and the servings were generous. I look forward to trying their other main dishes.
On September 13, 2024, it closed at 3:00. From 2:30 onwards, different waiters kept urging us to leave. The experience was extremely bad.
Found this little gem by chance. Ordered my go-to dishes to give this restaurant the test. Everything was on point. Highly recommend trying this place out if you dig Thai food.
The service was amazing and quick! For dine in and take out! The atmosphere is very welcoming and cozy. The food was and is always delicious! I love their Pad Thai
The food here is absolutely delicious. The coconut rice and the dry ribs were my favorites, as well as the cashew chicken. The service was so-so. I always had to wave someone down to get service, wasnt very busy so I dont know what was up with that.
Great food, getting pricey tho
So delish.
Food was great^^ Price was ok Service was great^^ Food : 5/5
Love Ban Chok Dee. We have been customers for about 6 yrs and even though we have moved to Coquitlam will still make the journey to Langley. Yellow curry, pineapple fried rice, pad thai, all were amazing!!
Long wait on delivery
We ve been eating here for several years now, and for the most part have enjoyed the food, especially considering there are not many Thai restaurants in Langley. This review is specifically in regard to our recent takeout experience. We ordered 7 items (2 appetizers and 5 mains), all of which we had previously ordered before while dining in. The takeout portions appear to be significantly smaller than what is served dining in. I ve noticed this before when we have ordered takeout, but on this occasion it was so apparent, we won t be ordering takeout ever again. Particularly bad was the garlic green beans and the spicy calamari. At $17.75, the garlic green beans consisted of just over a cup and half of beans in a small plastic takeout container. This was pretty disappointing for the price. I was actually shocked when I opened the small cardboard takeout container of spicy calamari as there was was the equivalent of just over one cup of calamari. Not worth ordering for $18.75. We also ordered the ginger beef and garlic pepper sauté, and while both are decent while dining in, the small portions that arrived with our takeout order aren t worth the price. I did call the restaurant to question them about the smaller portions and was told that the green beans and calamari are pre-measured so there shouldn t be a difference between dining in and takeout. I find this hard to believe based on our previous experience dining in, but regardless . In my opinion don t do take out. On a previous order they forgot to include our pad thai even though we had been billed for it and my husband had to return to the restaurant to pick it up, and on another occasion they forgot to include the rice and we let it slide. Feel a little bad complaining about this as they aren t a chain restaurant and we like to support the local mom and pop shops, but honestly, the take out order last night was so disappointing.
Simply scrumptious food and more than enough to satisfy so containers provided rather than wasting what we couldn t finish
By far the best Tai restaurant in Langley for sure!
A little gem tucked away in Langley. Went on a recommendation from a friend and I am kicking myself for not finding it sooner. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Service was so fast I couldnt believe it. The entire menu looked great so it was a little hard to decide what to have, but we did have was well worth it. Cant wait to go back and try more of the menu. Its a little small inside and the ac was blowing a little too cold, but oh well, thats really the only small negative I can think of.
My friends and I ordered pineapple cashew fried rice, dragon noodles (vegan), and dragon noodles (beef). All the three dishes were delicious, perfect spice level. Highly recommend the food and the place. Vegetarian options: Offer most dishes as Vegan
Had me at the first sip of the Thai iced coffee!! DELICIOUS. I ve tried quite a few dishes here, the stand outs for me are: Chicken Satay & cashew nut, Pad Thai and the Moo Ping. Food
Best Thai food around, lunch and dinner. Large dinner portions. I honestly prefer the lunch because although the portions are a bit smaller, I still get a box for leftovers, I like that we get a cup of vegetable soup, a spring roll with a small salad and the main plate. All delicious. I mostly order Pad Thai with prawns and Pad See Ew. It s a go to for me Parking: Parking can be a bit tricky at lunch time as there s a pharmacy, Lifelabs, physician offices, and a park . Dinner time is usually no problem Wheelchair accessibility: No automatic doors however, bathroom is a single large stall
Enjoyed a beef stir fry.
I ordered Tom Yang Kkum and PAD THAI for an early lunch, but there was so much food that we couldnt eat it all, so I brought it home. It suited my taste. I had a good time.
Great atmosphere, great food!
pretty good food but way overpriced for each dish. Google has the old prices and hasnt been updated
Ban Chok Dee was highly recommended by our friends, so when we finally came down to Langley, we wanted to try this restaurant. 5/5 stars for the food. Absolutely worth the trek into Langley. I loved all the food we ordered. My favorite was the green curry and the drunken noodles. The prices are very reasonable too. We gave the restaurant a 4 stars overall rating because the service was a bit spotty. We waited for a side dish (sticky rice) that never came, and we flagged for our waitress three times to inquire if it was still being made or on the way. By the third request, we had finished dining and ready to pay. I dont make sticky rice at home often so I was really excited to have sticky rice and was disappointed I couldnt have it with my meal. It seemed like maybe the restaurant was short staffed that day, or maybe because there was a huge table of diners seated behind us so the waitress was doing their best to support their section of the restaurant.
I have been ordering from Ban Chok Dee for years. We get the same meal each time, spicy cashew chicken. The food has always been exceptional, however my order tonight was not spicy (at all). I called the restaurant and explained that I did not get the correct order as my dinner was not spicy. I was told that if I wanted spicy food, I need to ask for Thai spicy apparently there is a difference. In the 10 years I have been ordering this dish I have never asked for Thai spicy, and yet was always very pleased with my order.... I was not happy with the explanation I received from the employee who answered my call. How is the normal customer to know about the term Thai spicy and why have I never had this issue before....hmmmm.....
Love it and will definitely go back to try other food in the menu.
Came here with my Mom, we saw that they had lot of reviews, all good ones. Food was delicious, atmosphere was great. Prices were very good. Definitely coming back to try other dishes on their menu.
Ban Choi Dee Langley is a real deal. Authentic Thai taste.
Had a great time. Everything was wonderful.
Cane here second time because the food was good. Came back today and food was super dry and over cooked. Our server not sure her NAME (short n Chubby) was bad service. Food
Flavours are great. Portions are larger than what we d expected except for the rice that came with the curries. For a group that is sharing dishes family style, add extra rice to your order to ensure there s enough for everyone.
So happy to have discovered this place. Best Thai food we ve had in a long time. I had Drunken Noodles with Chicken & Hubby had Chicken Pad Thai. Great atmosphere & beautiful food presentation. .
We have been here several times in the past year. Fell in love with the drunken noodles, spring rolls were crispy and fresh, also tried the cured pork ribs with sticky rice; delicious! We did find the way drunken noodles made were inconsistent; the most recent visit the noodles were overcooked and tasted mushy. Slightly disappointed! Overall; decent place for Thai food!
The best around.
Overall it was okay. Tom Yum was superrrr salty almost like it was a dipping sauce, stuffed wings are overpriced (2 wings for $21), the lowest tipping option was 18% and service is mediocre at best, fried prawns w noodles also overpriced (6 prawns for $21). But cashew chicken and drunken noodles were pretty good.
So good! Very flavourful food that was so satisfying and they had a LOT of gluten free options! Had an amazing experience and would strongly recommend! The portions are huge too!
Great food.
Was given a gift card to this restaurant. Had the pineapple fried rice and seafood dish. Really liked it. Dont usually go for Thai. Had a very good experience with it.
Amazing food!
I had a nice lunch at this authentic atmosphered place. Food was tasty, staff was smiley and friendly, I felt relax inside. We were 2, and we asked for dinner size lunch. If I will be honest it seemed small but the food filled 4 plates. So, everybody was satisfied. Although the price is a little high, it will be a quality time to have dinner or lunch here. They deserve
Pricey and the food is bland at best
If you want to waste your time in a very crowd place and spend money on a very low quality food and also very bad smell space, so you can go to this place and waste your time and money and you will be so unhappy then!!!
We had buffet catering done for 20 people for a lunch event (baptism and first birthday). For mains, we had chicken cashew nut, beef curry, seafood paradise, rice, and pad thai. For appetizers we had spring roll, garden roll, and chicken satay. The cost was $60/person +taxes and gratuity, which includes set up and take down. I was promised setting up the food will take 15 mins. It took 45 minutes! Our guests were starving. The food tasted good but we are extremely disappointed that we paid top dollar for catering and yet our expectations were not met nor reasons for the delay communicated. We were also promised they could make all dishes halal but there was also hiccups with that. we did let that slide but the 45 minute wait for the food was unacceptable. We had catering done to eliminate the stress of food prep as we have 3 small children but the delay caused more stress.
Worst Thai food in Vancouver! The pork did not taste fresh and was hard to chew on. It was simply disgusting. The calamari was fried and overly fried. The green curry taste very bland. The chicken skewers are very dry. The restaurant gave very little meat but A LOT of rice. Unchai or Bai Bua in Vancouver is so much better!
Consistently yummy food & drinks, large portion sizes, and great service ! Best to make a reservation as it fills up quickly and wait times can be long.
Great quality Thai food and Service. Everything is good Food
Had the Khao Soi and my wife had the red curry, both were very good. I would definitely recommend the Khao Soi Kid-friendliness: Noodle dishes with no spice and high chairs available
Food was ok, one of our meals was served at the end of everybody elses at the table, which was disappointing. They did comp that meal, but still, to get your meal when everyone else is finished.
While Having average quality food I have found that the service offered is some of the worst I have ever experienced. DO NOT BOTHER ORDERING TAKEOUT. They tell you two hours then make you wait an hour and five mins for your food when you show up. People that showed up after we did were seated and had received their meal while we were STILL waiting. On top of all that they have the audacity to wonder why they are being yelled at. Complete clown show. We will NEVER be back.
I have been here a few times already. I recently went on May 11 around 6:30 pm. We got a table right away without any reservation. If you are a fan of Thai food then you better go here. The servers are so nice, we had the pleasure of meeting Bua (Beauty) and she is sweet, professional and made some time to chat with us. One of us is vegetarian and she very specifically asked us questions to make sure we were ok with the ingredients. There was also another server whose name I couldnt catch, she too took the time to chat with us and she complimented my mom. That was very sweet. The food ahhhh where do I begin. Just delicious ! We ordered multiple dishes like Tom Yum soup, Thai red curry chicken, Vegetarian Green curry, drunken noodles vegetarian, Tofu and veggie fried rice and for dessert the fried banana with ice cream. You will find parking around so that is no issue. If you could make a reservation I would suggest that. Try them out, you will love it.
Food was not that great.
Never disappoints!
We went here to celebrate my dads birthday. It was our first time and we really enjoyed our experience. From the fresh, flavourful and huge portioned dishes to the attentive and efficient service, it was a great time. So glad we shared 4 dishes amongst the 5 of us. Will definitely come back!
Best place for vegan Thai food! They can make almost any dish Vegan!! We had green curry, Thai basil stir fry, pad Thai and spring rolls! Highly recommend!!!
His Thai food is very good. Worth trying
Bad service and expensive, but the food and flavours are pretty good considering its a Thai place in Langley. However, the chicken in my last pad thai tasted woody indicating poor quality meat.
Amazing. Best Thai in Langley. Good atmosphere and service. All the food tastes very authentic and full of flavor. They have lots of gluten free options. Highly recommend the curries. 100% worth going to this restaurant if you are craving some really tasty Thai cuisine.
Sooo good!!!!
Good place with good food. I love their every food we ordered
We had dinner there to celebrate a family birthday. While the food was delicious, they failed to tell me that a 20% gratuity was already included in the bill, (which is a pretty standard practice in my opinion) and I ended up double tipping. Definitely room for improvement with respect to the service.
Very good! Good food and service!
Busy and noisy during my mid-week lunchtime visit.
First time placing an order here. I really enjoyed the food. The quality of the food is pretty good considering i ordered takeout. However, as it was my first time, i was asking for the price of the food plus the different sizes offered. I was given very poor service over the phone. The lady i was talking to gave me attitude and was rushing me. No hate to this place. Really good food. But i would appreciate to be treated better over the phone.
Washrooms are very dark. Where is the toilet. Can I please have some water. The most basic of restaurant protocol. Ordered Tom Yung Goong soup. Tasted like tomato soup. Used to be excellent! Management change?
Delicious !
Excellent food, freshly made and authentic. Fair prices. A staple in the community. Top in Langley and lower mainland
The food quality and quantity is not worth the price. We ordered the pad thai, sweet and sour snapper, cured dry pork ribs and chicken satay. Only decent parts of our dinner were the pad thai and chicken satay. The sweet and sour snapper entree had barely any deep fried fish. It was basically all bell peppers and sauce. The cured pork ribs were tiny and all bones.
As mentioned in other reviews, the price of the food is a bit too much. So as for taste and quality is somewhere between 2.5~3.5 between. The overall food is way to stimulating either too sweet or salty. Everyone has different taste but if they can control portion and quality control with price arrangement it could turn out to be 4~4.5 with high potential. Hopefully some changes can be done. But for now it is just one time place I am not sure of going back to eat.
Always amazing food, its good to make a reservation since they are pretty busy. The prices have gone up quite a bit, but the portions are still generous, so we only go on special occasions.
Great Thai food, wonderful atmosphere, fabulous service.
I had to change my review . I used to love this place but last time we were there are appetizers were burnt..my food arrived 10 min after my husbands I got the prawn pad thai. ( I always get this) my prawns were raw still black and white colored and freezing cold and gooey. The sauce was awful. The server tried to say it was same sauce they always use but a different cook. Either way it was gross. Paid $100.00 for this no offer of a discount or anything. This is the 2nd time food hasent Been great. After being regulars for over 6 years we wont be back. Update: Decided to give them another chance much better food, and service.
Food was really delicious. Great portion to share, reasonable prices. Server was friendly too! Food : 5/5
Really good flavour and large portions
The portion was huge! I couldn t finish them. I love their food but the mango sticky rice was not very good. Mango was very sour and I think they use not even half of the mango.
The food is delicious and gets 5 stars. Its so busy in there and consequently noisy, but overall a good experience.
I loved everything about this place. Food was delicious and great quantity. Service was great and the waitress was very knowledgeable about the dishes that had gluten and which could be made gluten free. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
Cool atmosphere, absolutely delicious food and the service was amazingly even better! Amazing restaurant! Vegetarian options: Lots of tofu friendly dishes Dietary restrictions: Celiac friendly !
Mediocre Experience with Excessive Service Fee at Ban Chok Dee Thai I recently dined at Ban Chok Dee Thai and found the experience to be quite average overall. While the food and serving sizes were decent, nothing particularly stood out. However, one downside that left a sour taste was the addition of a hefty 20% service fee to the bill. For a restaurant of this caliber, such a charge seems excessive and did not align with the overall experience. While the cuisine might satisfy a craving for Thai food, the automatically added 20% service fee detracts from the value proposition.
Recently went three times, but today I still ordered no ice pineapple juice but the lady gave me iced juice and I asked her to give me no ice juice, she gave me a cup of juice, I doubt it but I drink it, when I got home I pooped and stomachache and realized that I shouldn t drink the reserve juice, the problem is juices, I should have drink first one, better not eat outside, they also ask for higher tips, machine showed minimum tip 18%. I really don t want to pay that much today.
My wifes favorite Thai place. Portions are generous, taste is delicious, decor on point.
Great food and service. Went there on a Friday night, inspite of being so busy the service was very quick. Generous portions of food. Their spice level for Thai Curry and fish was low. We ordered medium but it was mild. The noodles, chicken satay, lettuce wrap, wontons were perfectly spiced. But Definitely worth coming again. Dietary restrictions: accommodate vegetarian and gluten restrictions
Best Thai food ever. Their Pad Thai, curries and cashew chicken are amazing. Service is good but the venue is a little small and quite dark but the food more than makes up for it :). Dietary restrictions: When told of a food allergy they are willing to make it to the necessary specifications. My son had their Pad Thai made without peanuts with they took extra precautions to make for him.
The service was impeccable. Our food was delicious and fairly priced for the beautiful portions we received. I couldnt recommend this place any more. Thank you, Ban Chok Dee! Food
A very busy place. Pretty decent food.
I had to change my bad review after my last visit. The customer service has drastically improved, it seems theyve changed a lot of the servers. The food was delicious as always, I only took off one star because it is a bit pricey for the area, but you wont be disappointed by the quality. Thank you, Patty for your amazing service..and the delicious margaritas!
Loved the food. It had the right amount of spice & sweet bursting with flavor. One of the best Thai food restaurants here. Definitely my fav!
Great food with good-sized portions. I ordered Pad Thai - I highly recommend it, but go for spicy - at least mild, because not spicy is very bland.
Authentic Thai food!
The food had a very mild flavour. Very disappointing considering the reviews. The prices are also ridiculous. There are better Thai restaurants with more flavour near by.
Great Thai cuisine, parking a little bit difficult to find as it s a busy place and quite loud as it s quite big inside.
Impressed by the great food flavor at this Thai restaurant. Although slightly pricey, the generous portions and quality made it worthwhile. I ordered small Tom Yum, pork satay, and yellow curry, more than enough for two. The Tom Yum was one of the best I ve had, and the overall worthiness was due to the exceptional food quality. Excellent service, and it wasn t busy during lunchtime.
Excellent food. Our favorite combination is the red thai curry with coconut rice and pad thai. We order both and split it for two of us. It is a perfect, tasty meal!
Ordered the the Chow mein and the Food was good however price was high for portion size also never recieved any utensils to eat my meal and no napkins
Hands-down, the best Thai food have lve had outside thailand. Fanta the owner is so sweet and they go out of their way to make it feel like home. The food is amazing with great variety. Lots of traditional Thai dishes . Lychee duck curry is my fav and a cozy atmosphere. Would definitely send anyone here!!!!
Dined in for dinner with husband. Food is good. Service isn t the best. No smiles on waitress faces. This is the second time and same kind of service. Didn t come to check if we needed anything else etc. nice and cosy place. Parking: Found parking easily
Best authentic Thai food within at least a 20km radius.
I love Ban Chok Dee. The food is great and flavourful, and the staff are lovely. Id come here every week if i could afford it! Weve ordered take out and dined in and had great experiences with both. In my opinion, the Langley location is much better in terms of taste and consistency. The service could be better as (even when its not very busy) sometimes theres a long wait between getting your food and the staff checking to see if you need anything/if the food is good/correct, and occasionally they dont come back until after your meal, which isnt super convenient if theres a mistake or if you want to order another item. Overall, a great experience!
Excellent food and service. We are Thai people recommend for menu Thai street food. Its amazing. Very warm place feel like home. Oh, the ribs are really good. Lets try them.
This place has excellent food, and if you have celiacs or are gluten intolerant, they are completely trustworthy to get it right. The only thing that bothered me the last time I was there, as my friend and I felt under extreme pressure to eat quickly and leave. There were two service people that kept coming to us constantly asking us if everything was okay. It was frustrating. So next time it might just be take out, because with the price of food nowadays, if it doesnt come with enjoying my experience, Im out!
I always Uber Eats from here and I was so pleased when I realized it was in Langley City. My favourite place. Coming to the restaurant was such a pleasure. It is antiquie yet romantic and modern. We chose to sit outside because it quite and we wanted to enjoy an array of there many many delicious drinks. The food is fantastic. The staff are a pleasure. A gem in the heart of Langley! We will be back soon. Vegetarian options: Plenty. Parking: Close to City Park. Plenty of street parking. Kid-friendliness: Welcoming.
Food is good overall.
Aweful customer service. They forgot to serve our table for over an hour. When told they didn t apologize for the delay. We also asked for a bag for our to go food and the waitress forgot about us and I had to go remind her again. The food was ok and space a bit crowded.
I recently dined at Ban Chok Dee Thai Cuisine-Langley, and overall, it was a decent experience. The portion sizes were generous, and the service was impressively fast and well-executed. We requested our dishes to be spicy, but they leaned more towards the sweet side, which was a bit unexpected. The ambiance of the restaurant has an old-school charm, but it could probably use a bit of a makeover to freshen things up. Despite the place being quite full, we managed to get a seat with minimal wait, which was a plus. To be honest, I had high expectations based on the reviews I saw online , but while the meal was good overall, it didnt quite reach the level of amazing that I had anticipated. Nevertheless, if youre looking for a decent Thai meal with good portions and efficient service in Langley area, its worth a try.
Wow, what a meal! Drove from Van to taste this highly recommended! 5 stars, our meals were so delicious, some of the best Thai cuisine I ve had. Restaurant is has a warm atmosphere and staff was so friendly.
Tried their Pad Thai, Papaya Salad, and Chicken Cashew Nut. Large portion. Luv taste. Now I go to this place only for Thai foods. After my first review, I tried a Mu-ping (pork skewers) and green curry and those were also amazing. I ordered papaya salad everytime I visited this restaurant. All the foods that I tried so far were great. I love this place.
I love it every time. It is one of my favourites.
Always a good meal everytime Ive been
Had drunken noodle and pineapple fried rice. Noodle taste a bit sweet for me. Fried rice was delicious
Best Thai food in Metro Van/Fraser Valley hands down! Regularly get for take out and have gone in on several occasions. Quality is the same whether dining in or out. Pad Thai, moo ping and fried rice are must order. Everything Ive tasted from here has been delicious. Highly highly recommend if youre looking for a great Thai restaurant, also have another location in Maple Ridge.
My friend and i went there. It wasnt too busy so we got seat right away. We orderes green curry which was delicious(9/10) and pat thai wasnt too much to our liking(6.5/10) and fried spicy calamari (8/10) servers seems they dont really like their job lol they didnt even check on us once(and if you dont pay tip for poor service it considers rude!) Its too expensive too. We paid over 80 for the 3 meal(plus tip) we ordered. The portion is too big. One cannot finish so it will be smarter to reduce the portion and lower the food prices so people can visit more often.
Tasty food we love Thai food 5his in Langley the best beautiful warm and rokantic place
My wife and I came here about half an hour before close and they were very friendly and said that the kitchen will be closing soon so we ordered and everything came out quickly and tasted fresh and hot! They also said no need to hurry please take your time. We were very pleased not only with their authentic Thai food but also the EXCELLENT service we received! Vegetarian options: Lots of options Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs.
Came into the restaurant to make a reservation for my wife and sons birthday 2 weeks prior to the actual date. Asked if we could privately reserve their patio seating for our family of 15, and at the time of reserving, they had said yes. Came into our reservation and noticed they were serving a table at the patio, asked them about our private booking and was told we can not book the whole patio, we need to still serve customers. We would of charged you per person to reserve the private booking. Would of been okay with the extra charges for a private setting.... Confronted the server and asked why I was told yes to the privating booking and she just kept being defensive. A simple apology or asking us to wait to finish serving that table would of been acceptable. The fact that this serve kept arguing with me made me even more pissed. They are lucky that there was a auto gratuity or I would of tipped them nothing for her terrible service. I wish I got her name... Niko on the other hand is a solid server and turned the experience around for us.
The portions were large, but the food did not meet my expectations. I had the pad sieu noodles. The noodles were broken up and goopy at the bottom of the bowl and a main ingredient was broccoli, a traditional Thai ingredient? The taste was muddied - hard to explain. The papaya salad was ok, although quite sour. The red curry was ok as well.
The foods are awesome. Servers are great. Perfect! We will come again for sure. Parking: Parking is just a front no problem Food : 5/5 |
We have been here several times during the pandemic. The food is authentic but lately the prices are a bit crazy.
Hard to choose a favourite dish (ok, it s the Pad Thai) because everything is so beautifully prepared.
One of the best places to get Thai food in BC.
I m changing my 5* review to 3* mainly because of the crazy price increases over the last couple years. We order from here frequently and almost always get the same 3 things. When I went to pickup my order yesterday I was shocked to see it was over $80. We went back and looked at the old prices, and were kind of surprised to see some of the stuff has gone up nearly 70% in less than 2 years. That s a MASSIVE increase in prices. Your portions are fair, the food is great, but you re overcharging at this point. Edit again: I hate to give this place a bad review because it is honestly some of the best Thai food in Langley. Their takeout is constantly 30+ minutes delayed on what they actually quote. When I phone in just tell me it s going to be 1.5 hours, why tell me an hour and then have me stand in your cramped entryway with a hundred angry Uber eats drivers. I m writing this review after waiting 30 minutes, still standing here right now. I d much rather be at home than stand here like an idiot for this long - and this isn t an isolated issue - their timing is constantly off.
Had a take out night and just WOW! It was sooooo good, had the coconut curry soup, chicken pad thai and the app platter.
Service and atmosphere is great. However, the glowing reviews set my expectations pretty high for the food. We tried five dishes and overall, it felt average. There were some highlights. The skewers and wontons were tasty. The biggest disappointments were the dishes with chicken; they were dry.
Update 10/22/2023: We had a lovely dinner with my brother from Germany. It was not so noisy and busy as last time. The food was amazing and we ordered Drunken Noodles and Chow Deek-Chow Mein Noodles. Really delicious and the service was great. Our second visit and we love the Thai food. What I dont like to get my starter with the main course and a full table where I can not properly eat.
I had high expectations and maybe that was my own fault, i ordered Yellow curry chicken and it was the sweetest curry I ve ever had, maybe too much pineapple? Or they should omit the pineapple all together, I literally forced myself to try and eat it so I didn t waste it and couldn t get passed a few bites even with the plain rice it still wasn t enjoyable and the dish itself wasn t very flavourful other than a sweetness, everything else was very average, ingredients did seem fresh! However lacked in taste. I spent good money to order food for dinner after a late work day from here and won t again. I only gave two stars as the service was good and efficient, and the items were packaged nicely.
I wish Tom yam going soup would be less salty ! When I went first time it was very good ! My second time visiting was not much good !
Lovely thai food in town. Excellent ambience with warmly welcoming staff delivering delicious thai cuisine!!
One of the Best Thai food places in all Of metro Vancouver! Hands down! Food
UPDATE - I reached out to the email address in their response and never got a reply - ???? We have been eating at this restaurant for over 5 years but no more. They have changed the reciepe for the Pad Thai and it wasnt good. The service was disgraceful. The waitress was walking around the place with her mouth full of food. She couldnt even talk because she was chewing. We wanted to take our left overs and asked for containers but she didnt leave us with any cutlery. When we mentioned it to her she offered us the dirty forks from our plates - really. We tipped her $8 on a $82 bill - do you think she got the message. Again I wont be going back and will never recommend it to anyone. I just read a couple of recent yelp reviews and they posted exactly the same comments
We came here on Monday - Nov 13 with our friends hoping to have a good Thai meal . The waitress was so rude even when just walking us to the table . She continued to be quite indifferent and curt when ordering food . Food was fine but the experience will never make me come back here again . In fact , we even told her that this was the worst customer service we ever experienced in Canada .
Very tasty Thai food. Very good. I definitely recommend this restaurant I Langley.
Always an amazing meal from here. Always!
A favorite, the best Thai food!
Beauty was one if our servers and she s so sweet knowledgeable and funny. We will be back. The pad Thai is the best . Can t wait to try more of there amazing dishes
Been there a few times and its always such great tasting food and it looks beautiful too!
Best Thai food this side of the bridge. Place is fantastic. Their Tom Ka Gai Soup is killer as is their Curries and most everything else. This might be my favorite Thai restaurant.
I used to always order take out from here until I moved away. I came here for a Christmas meal with friends and it was so great! The food was amazing, the staff were so wonderful, the space was cozy and comfortable. Thank you for making our Christmas gathering a success! Vegetarian options: I do not eat meat and was able to order garden rolls and stir fried rice noodles with tofu. Yum!! Dietary restrictions: A friend cannot eat dairy or gluten and she was able to enjoy her meal.
Excellent, authentic flavors and aromas. It s a bit on the pricey side as almost all mains were $25, but the quality is there!
Very good food. Thanks
Was great foot and even better service.
It was delicious. Each chose a plate and we shared. Best way to eat there.
Standoffish staff. Waitresses checked on other tables but didnt bother with myself. Asked server to come back after my meal as I wanted to order more food. Got ignored. Food was mediocre comparable to Thai Express you would find in a mall food court. Drinks were terrible. Not a great feeling making a $60+ order for one and then getting ignored by staff. Also wasnt given cutlery, had steal it from a different table?
My family of 4 people came here for dinner last night and it was our first dining experence at this Fine (that was what it says on the door) Thai Cuisine. While we were waiting to be seated I was attracted and amazed by several wining awards about the restaurant foods. So i thought i had made the right decision. The restaurant was quite busy at the time when we got sat at our table. The decors and ambiance were look great. So we ordered a few appies which consist of Spicy Calamari ($17) , Stuffed chicken wings ($18). The calamari was so dark like chocolate colour and mushy and the the same dip fried colour for the stuffed chicken wings. No idea what kind of cooking oil they are using or it was super old oil. That was our first disappointment. And the entrees came out which were papaya salad, Pineaple Fried rice, and dip fried red snapper. They did not taste as we expected to be. The fried rice was soggy and tasteless. The red snapper was even worse that i could barely find 1 or 2 small pieces of fish because the rest were vegtables. Our server took our orders then disappeared since except for food runner who brought and cleared our foods. We have been to many great Casual Thai restaurants in Vancouver so we were so surprised at this Fine Thai Cuisine. Yet the price was meant to be for Fine Cuisine but the food quality and service were not really at its Fine level yet. just thought it was over rated somehow.
Better make a reservation. This place was packed! Staff excellent at making recommendations. Every dish was tasty and delicious.
I have been here several times however of late the staff are so unfriendly,no warm welcome, not even hello, no smile zero. I think the popularity has gone to their heads. Good food for sure ..service in today s world where you have so many choices .nope zero. We may do takeout at best next time
Great food. Great service. Great everything. Dont get out for dinner very often as wed like so its awesome when we find a great dinning experience like here.
