Pleasantly surprised. We had the daily menu which included unlimited soup and coffee. The lentil soup was delicious. My fillet of sole was okay. My partner had the hamburger steak with fries, it was very good. The prices are very reasonable and the service excellent. The menus are starting to look quite outdated. They should be replaced.

The food was good but the service was too slow and our waitress was too insistent on tipping. Last time I return to this restaurant.

The dishes were good but the service was long even though there were few people there. We are young and students, we don t have a lot of money. At the end of the service, when it was time to pay, the waitress was very attentive with her 15% tip. A friend wanted to tip her but above 15% and she said out loud you dont tip 15%. I order through UberEats and everything I have ever ordered has been fresh and tasty. The filet mignon brochette plate is 100 times better than casa grecque. The potatoes and rice are fresh and the meat is better. The chicken brochette is also a great dish. The smoked meat plate is also always fresh and tasty. The waitresses are correct but the places are old and the candle is disgusting so that anyone who eats anything complains about the terrible taste of the food I just hope that we change the chef. I was at the Resto last night and I just wanted to mention that I have NEVER BEEN SOOOOOO disappointed in my life. I had to wait 10 min before being seen. Then waited another 10 min for water. Meanwhile the waiter Elie passed us a few times and went to sit to eat his desert and I got up to ask him where my water was. Then I ordered 2 MED smoke meat sandwiches....we got 1 med and 1 lean. I gave the med to my dad and the lean he took it for a joy ride around the restaurant only to bring the same one back to me. What a disappointed.

Went for breakfast this morning, terrible service was going to say the food was ok until we both asked the waiters no fruits tomato instead. She forgot because stupid didnt write it down so by the time she took our plates back to the kitchen and came back......there nothing worst than a cold breakfast. Wont be returning. By the way its been how many years that youve started painting your wall....its time you finish them.

Breakfast: small portion. Nothing amazing, everything very simple. The sausage was tasting like old food I dont know for how long they were in their fridge. Been waiting for our food we saw a mouse in the middle of the tables.

Quite mediocre experience. Burnt sausages taste disgusting, dry scrambled eggs, a piece of honeydew melon with the peel and a slice of dry orange is not a serving of fruit. And whats the idea of putting hot baked beans in a little plastic cup when I order on site? Not a takeout order to put this in a plastic cup. And it cost more than a restaurant that knows how to serve a real plate of breakfast!!!

I loved my meal, chicken fajitas. On the other hand, throwing rocks at me, I didnt know it was such a big plate and the waitress didnt tell me. She couldnt have either that I didnt know....for the rest everything was perfect!

I like Nickels in general and I like their dining rooms. We often have our own discreet space. In Laval, I didnt feel like eating so I had a meal and fried salad. I dont know why the salads at Nickels often disappoint me. I usually have burgers or grilled meats which are often good. But the staff is welcoming. The service was super fast. The atmosphere is calm and discreet, which is what I often look for. I recommend it for other dishes in any case.

Yesterday, I went to eat a delicious skewer of two souvlakis. The meal was exquisite and the service very warm. I was served like a queen and given extras for free. Hadnt visited this restaurant in a few years. We forgot how delicious the burgers actually are! Fast and great service by our waitress as well. Would like to thank the Lady in the front entrance (Manager?) That was very gracious ans always smiling, in allowing us to change our table yesterday evening, and allow us to sit on the first booth left side. We will be coming back!

When someone charges me a $20 smoked meat poutine, I expect smoked meat and not slicer rejects. I ate the same thing in a nickels in Gatineau and I had real pieces of smoked meat. I ordered the pizza-gheti, it was very good but...the portions have shrunk a lot since the last time I dined at Nickels, it was barely enough to fill me whereas in the past I I had trouble finishing my plate. Also the service was very slow and the waitress didnt come by often. Also it was the birthday of one of our group and they sang happy birthday. Also we even got our desserts since they passed us the bill without asking us if we wanted dessert. I still give 5 stars since it was obvious that they were short of employees but its deplorable that I had to go to Fu Lam to pick up a General Tao chicken to fill my little hunger. I had left.

Worst service ever. Waitress was almost rude. Ordered the bagel eggpress and had to return my plate twice. Unable to get what I ordered. They didnt even change the plate or the bagel. Bagel was gloppy from the runny egg. Not sure will go back

Honestly very disappointed with the waiter who had no manners the food was very good apart from the cooking of my plate but it was good what can we say about the famous Céline Dion cake at $9 very disappointed we received a half portion we are used to it nickels and we always received a huge piece its our second visit here and we were disappointed twice we will still come back but ask for another waiter if its him again

Perfect restaurant for family brunches. Varied menu. Affordable prices. Warm service. I always appreciate not feeling pressured to clear the table immediately after the meal. People who are a little older can take the time to talk with their friends or family. And we often see families with young children there too. They seem welcome. Great experience on each of my visits. Parking: Located in a shopping center so easy parking. Adapted for disabled people. And Nickels also has its own exterior entrance in addition to the entrance located in the shopping center.

We have a bad experience,

I went to this restaurant for lunch with my daughters this morning. I asked if we could substitute the baked beans for sliced tomatoes. I was refused this request which, in my opinion, was reasonable. This is the first time Ive been refused this. When the customer pays $18 for his plate, its the least we can do to make sure that he likes everything on his plate. Here, the request was fair. There are some who dont know how to keep a customer. If you cant adapt your dishes, put in more combinations. I dont think Im alone in wanting a replacement on occasion. In addition, my daughters asked for boiled eggs and received scrambled eggs. We had to return the plates to the kitchen. Im not surprised that this restaurant is 3/4 empty on a Saturday morning at 9:00.

I went with my family and we had bad service or rather no service. A waitress assigned us a table in the empty restaurant except for two other tables then left for 10-15 minutes before coming to ask if we wanted coffee/to order. After 30min+ without our coffee following our order and watching her talk with a table of what I imagine were her friends in the corner of the restaurant my family decided to just leave since she was clearly too busy chatting with this table that to take care of customers
