Philinos Laval in Laval

We went on a Friday at 5 p.m. We were well served by a very smiling and pleasant lady. The food was very good and the portions were huge. The moussaka was delicious & we shared it between two because it was so big. The sea bass was a little mushy but still very good. To finish dessert we shared the cheese baklava .it was incredible.

What a great experience. Delicious food and desserts. Excellent service from Tracy and Tiana. Bring your own wine. Beautiful ambiance... Will definitely be back! Thank you so much Philinos!

Our go-to restaurant for any occasion! Staff is super friendly, food is amazing and the atmosphere is great.

The welcome is completely rude and unprofessional. We had a reservation for 2, and when we arrived, no table for 2 was available... They offered us a table in the corridor between the kitchen and a group of 30 people. And didnt even apologize for not having prepared our reserved table the day before.

I came to Philinos for my daughter s birthday having been told how amazing the food and service was. I experienced first hand how quick efficient and polite the waiters and waitresses are. The food was sublime and I 100% recommend this establishment for any kind of event. 10/10

For quick, well-executed Greek food, this is the place. This was probably the juiciest, most succulent pork souvlaki I ve ever had. The pork was tastier and juicier than the chicken. Honourable mention to the fresh, delicious, tangy roasted potatoes. However, the decor and ambiance needs work - it s tacky, cold and thoughtless which was disappointing.

Recently went to the Laval location with a large group of friends. The place was really empty and they seemed decidedly upset that we kept them there on a Sunday evening. The waiter was arrogant and straight up rude. Their Greek salad was an embarrassment. I could easily make it better at home. The octopus was tough and tasteless. The sea bass, however, was very good. Since there are many better options for Greek in the Montreal-Laval area and because the service was awful, I would not go back and cannot recommend it.

Food was fine but thats it. This is the first of many issues restaurants will have with tips and service, there was no service at all, server opened bottle of wine, served a cup of water , served the food and ba-by see you at the end when you have to pay her 18% tip. ENOUGH with this bullshit, as a consumer i am not responsible to pay her salary . I work hard for my money so should the server. Enough is enough gratuity is based on what the consumer feels they should tip and not coheres by the machine to tip 18%.

Very much enjoyed. Excellent souvlaki. Large excellent (fresh) Greek salad not skimping on the feta (although I like more olives). Others in the party also very pleased with their meals. We were with 3 Paralympic athletes and staff were excellent with all of us.

I ve had my son s baptism here and come to eat regularly. The food is consistent and always tastes great. The service is always amazing and the wait staff take the time to listen and take care of you. Our fave Greek restaurant by far!

Its a bring your own booze restaurant. The only good thing about it and the decoration which is nice as well. The rest is sub-par : food, service and of course ambience. There are better places around. Verdict : unless you dont have other options...I wouldnt go.

Great food and service.

From poor service to overpriced plates...this place is not a Greek cuisine. The fried calamari was not fresh at all. The sausages were hard as a rock. In general....for The price u pay, their plates are poor in contents and in taste as well. There are other better tasting greek restaurants with much better food. Service was very poor I might add. Overall nothing fancy as a restaurant. I will definitely not go back, nor recommend it to anyone.

Me and my girlfriend went out for dinner and with great disappointment I must admit this must of been the worst service ever. The waitress was nothing but rude and disrespectful. To start off the dinner I brought a bottle of wine and had to ask for them to bring me an ice bucket to chill my wine even though they saw my bottle of wine. Then my salad order I asked to have no olives and it came with olives and no onion, then the waitress went and took out the olives and added onions and I still tasted olives in my salad. Then messed up on our dinner plates and instead of apologizing she blamed us and was very rude and snappy and unprofessional. Its a shame because I have received better service in low end restaurants and expected a more curteous service at this restaurant that claims to be a higher end restaurant. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant to nobody and regret ever stepping foot in there. Waitress and staff need a little wake up call and need to learn how to provide better service.

The decor is simple. The tables stuck to the others. The essential chairs. We found ourselves there by chance. Greek cuisine. Expensive! I had the cheapest, a pork souvlaki. The plate is generous, the vegetables and potatoes are delicious but my skewer had a lot of fat. This is a bring your own wine restaurant. I didnt love it. Its noisy so its difficult to talk with friends.

We were a group of 20 people before the holidays. Very disappointed with the quality of the food. Many of us will not return to this place. Most of the plates are very expensive and honestly few liked their plates. The waiter was very unfriendly. We had asked for 2 square tables if it was obviously possible. We were told that yes it was possible occasionally. The restaurant was half empty and an entire section was closed. So, yes we could have accommodated ourselves.

First time going there and it wont be the last! Bread with oil and balsamic upon arrival. Their Caesar salad is by far one of the best I have eaten! Homemade garlic Caesar dressing, homemade tzaziki, potatoes with a hint of lemon... delicious The service was fast and courteous. My partner asked to dim the lights and it wasnt a problem, thank you!!! I would give them more than 5 stars If you want a good Greek restaurant, I recommend it to everyone! (bring your own wine)

Good savory dishes, my personal favorite is the saganaki. If your a nice group you should take the meat platter. There were a couple of let downs, though nothing that is going to stop me from going back over and over and over again.

We went there for an employee Christmas dinner. We ate very well and in quantity. It was very good! The owner was on site and very warm to all customers. Small negative point, when the restaurant is full, it becomes very noisy and disturbing for my taste.

Great food but I was disappointed with the service. Our waiter was in a huge rush to get our food out so we couldn t finish our appetizers before getting our main dishes. Once the bill came ,the second we finished our meals, it was one bill that then got corrected to separate bills, which were given to the wrong people. I think it was on purpose as our server was in a foul mood. Prices about 20% too high. I will not return.

We hosted a family event yesterday at the restaurant. Excellent food, restaurant is very clean, owner and waiters were super friendly and made sure our event is a success. We had an amazing time and we will sure come back. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Amazing Greek food! This is the second time we have been here and we were not disappointed. Everything is fresh and the meats are super tender. The flavors are authentic and delicious. The dishes are well prepared and presented in a way that is as pleasing to the eyes as it is to the taste buds. Their taramosalata is incredibly fresh and their tzatziki is so creamy it melts in your mouth.

We went for a dinner with friends and had an amazing experience. The staff to begin with was super friendly and the service was A1. We arrived 30 minutes late and the owner accommodated us. The chicken was excellent, the octopus was okay. Thank you Tony for your warm welcome we will definitely be coming back soon!

The food and service were amazing, the octopus was comparable to places I ate at in Greece, cold Pikilia was really good, quality olives. The calamari was missing spice but was really tender. The mixed grill was fantastic, lamb chops were seasoned and grilled to perfection. The fish was also amazing seasoned and tasty. To really enjoy this restaurant go with a group of 10 and order all kinds to share, bring your own wine! Can t miss here, hope they continue to bring the quality.

A beautiful and pleasant surprise that we had when we stopped by chance at Philinos Laval. We were passing through for work, and only had an hour for dinner. Despite the fact that we had not booked, we were welcomed friendly and reassured that there was no problem with the delay. Promise kept! The service is fast, courteous and friendly. The vibe between the dining room employees is warm and inspiring. The plates are generous, tasty and well presented! There was no question of wasting anything, we took the rest to take away! It is very likely that I will return there during a future visit to Laval! The whole menu looks excellent! Thanks again and see you soon!

March 2023 update: Stelio shines as usual, best waiter! Food is unbelievable, from fried zucchini to calamari, the pork steak, chicken breast, lamb chop, loukaniko, everything is crazy good. Prices are very fair for what you get. Go there with no hesitation. Best Greek restaurant period. Everything is top, especially the chicken breast, lamb chops and souvlaki sticks and pita. Fries , salad and entrees awesome. Great service and prices are good. You can pick up or use Uber etc

Ridiculously good chicken, pork and beef, I highly recommend the meat platter. We came as a group for a celebration and the food was top notch but the service could have been a bit quicker. Its a spacious restaurant with nice decor and kept clean. Overall a great experience.

We had a reservation for 20 people, it was a minimum of 1400$ bill and we brought our own cakes for the celebration and they DARED to charge us 2$ per person to CUT THE CAKE. We made sure to bring our own cakes just for them to charge us an extra 40$ just to cut it???? Makes 0 sense. Food was ok but the portions were small and service was not great either. For a 1500$+ bill we were expecting better service. Do not recommend!

Not impressed

NOT WORTH THE PRICE. For 160$ My wife and I went and we had --- ---- - the bread served before the meal was a sliced commercial bread with a side of cheap oil and balsamic vinegar -calimari appetizer, (does not come with any sauce and had barely any spice and seasonning) -salades were barley seasonned. There was a 4 $ overcharge for greek salade( in a greek restautant!!!!!) For a very tiny piece of feta. tomatoes in the salade were tasteless. - catch of the day plate -loup de mer- 55$ for a very bland plate and was not rid if bones ! Not worth it !! - pork skewers were ok, ..just ok -every plate was served with side of steamed vegetables and some kind of stewed potatoes( does not work) . - slow service Wheelchair accessibility: The doors dont open automatically, but is at parking level.

Probably best not to have an event like a baptism etc if you going to ask parents to take there kids out or to have them sit at 3yo in a highchair the whole time during a 50 person baptism for the 2 tables that were in the restaurant....needless to say, a little unprofessional on there part, understandable that its a restaurant but then dont book events if you dont like it.

Overall the food was good. I enjoyed note the main plates. Lamb chops were amazing as usual, and the grilled chicken as well. Everything grilled is amazing. As for the appetizers they lacked seasoning rather bland. Saganki was excellent . Should be more seasoning on the salad the bread the eggplant zucchini chips needs more seasoning !! As for everything else was excellent lol i will come back and have saganki and lamb chops with fries !

Very nice restaurant but the service was poor the people who were on duty seemed to be really bothering us and above all there was a smell of tar but the food was really good

EDIT: Since I cant seem to reply to response. Even the response makes no sense. Doesnt change the fact that your policy of charging full price for a 6 year old child on a group menu exists at no other restaurant, and you were advised there was 1 child, if we had said he was 5 he was free, we were honest and said his real age 6 were prepared to pay a fee, and were charged full price which is unheard of for 6 year olds. We did not expect him to be served a kids meal, but if you read the review I said if you want to charge full price you should at least bring a meal appealing to the child. Great foot regardless of how we were treated! FYI on Philinos Laval we went for a party of about 30 people 80$ a person. The food was great will start off by saying. However there was 1 child 6 year old and they tried to charge us 80$ for him. He had a slice of bread and butter and 2 strips of a chicken breast off a shared platter. For that price u better bring a specific plate for a child with a kids meal of fries or something. I understand paying for a child np but full adult price and bring nothing to appeal to a child seems like a money grab. Lady just kept repeating that s their policy over five years old Full price. We didn t mind paying a child fee that s why we didn t say he was 5 like most people would have. I have never heard of such a thing and have planned many parties at very nice places. We finished off agreeing to 40$ but was such a turn off!!!! I have the receipts if anyone wants to dispute this. I d be happy to post.

Amazing food and service.

It was my first time at philinos. Its the same as every restaurant, but its worth the try! For me, the food was normal, nothing fancy but good!

Very noisy. One Friday, they started cleaning the room around 10:00 p.m. even though there were still several tables left. At 10:30 p.m. they asked us to leave even though the closing time on the website is at 11:00 p.m. Too expensive. Food quality is good.

The food was good, but very pricey. Parking: There is a parking lot, it is free to park and wheelchair friendly. Kid-friendliness: Its more of an adult restaurant, but children can eat there also. Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheelchair access for parking, eating, and bathrooms.

We loved our experience! We recommend!

Group of 19 among many large groups. The server was overwhelmed and it reflected in the service we got. I ordered chicken souvlaki that was a little over cooked. Warm bread was served but had to ask for butter and then 10 minutes brought oil for the bread. Had to ask 3 times for water refill. No one walked around refilling water. Had a $12 very small piece of cheesecake with coffee. Asked for a coffee refill but never got it. Took the server about three tries to give the proper bills to me and the people near me. Do not know if they were short staff, but I really did not enjoy the night out. We were there at 630, a very busy time as all the tables were full but they were very fast and efficient in setting up the tables for the next party.

Everything was great! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding.

Philinos was amazing from beginning to end! The entrees, food, dessert and coffee were all excellent in particular the flavours and temperature. Everything tasted so fresh and perfect! The service and hospitality by the owner and our fabulous waiter, Danny was top notch! I have never had such amazing service in any restaurant! I will bring my family again and again! Authentic Greek cuisine very nice ambiance, the service is fantastic.

We had lunch in the 21st/08/22 at this excellent place. Service impeccable! Food was to die for! Salad, calamari, mussels, and main dish Lamb chops, chicken,pork, sausages as main dish was just So well done. Our waiter even thought of the extra candle spark for good luck which I forgot. So thoughtful!! Highly recommended!!!

Absolutely amazing! We have the fried zucchini and eggplant, the mixed meat platter and greek salad. Food, service and price =A++++. Tony the owner greets his clients and makes sure everything is perfect. We had such a lovely time as a family and it s bring your own wine! I highly recommend this restaurant!

The ideal place to taste real, typical, non-commercial Greek cuisine! The portions are generous, everything is really appetizing. Even the salad is out of the ordinary! Dined at Philinos two weekends in a row now; we had the delicious meat platter, perfectly cooked (the sausage is unlike any other). We ve tried 4 different side dishes, all very good portions and tasted great (mushrooms and the fried zucchini are battling it out for my top pick), we ll try the saganaki next. Easy parking, friendly owner and motivated staff, excellent service from our waiter George, 5 stars

Hosted my mother s surprise birthday party at Philinos Laval, it was the perfect venue! The owner, Tracy, her husband, and staff are phenomenal. And the food was outstanding, lamb cooked to perfection. I definitely recommend Philinos, both Laval and on Parc. Great food, ambiance and attention to detail.

Absolument exceptionnel! Service courtois et rapide, chaque service était excellent, beau restaurant. Au-delà de nos attentes. Et quel accueil!! On nous a demandé si cétait notre première visite, on nous a accueillis vraiment chaleureusement avec une poignée de main. À la sortie, on nous demande comment a été notre expérience. Un coup de coeur! Je recommande et jy retournerai cest sûr.
