A great experience. We ate well. A little disappointed that its only weekend brunches. When working during the week it is impossible to try the other menus.

I have read several negative comments dating back several months about the salmon tartare and I dont understand why it is still on the menu. It s anything but a tartare! It s a quinoa salad with vegetables and a little salmon. Reduflation? Additionally, I ordered a decaffeinated cappuccino which was not decaffeinated as my heart could attest. The waitress seemed confused about which cappuccinos were regular and decaf. All it would take is color coding for the distinguished ones it s not that complicated!

I placed an order in advance for two gluten-free cakes, specifying that I didnt want any little candies in the recipe. They made a mistake in the order and even forgot to give us the coulis that came with the cakes. It was for a baptism and it was very, very disappointing. Following this bad experience, I still had excellent service (after sales) from Ricardo Media. I will give it a 2nd chance and go back.

The best trout steak I have ever eaten. hearty dish, 100% perfect, cooking, subtle autumn flavor, originality, refined taste of vegetables and sauce, an address to remember and recommend to gourmets who know real cuisine. I will definitely come back.

Execrable welcome! We are criticized for not having contacted the reception desk to be assigned a table.... even though we were only 10 people in the room!! We are being lectured!!! They bring us 2 menus in English We went there for the pudding . not on the menu! while registered on the website We were served by 3 different people fortunately a waiter came to see us and he saved everything or almost by his kindness Very disappointed with the service!!!! My first time visiting the Ricardo restaurant. Honestly I was disappointed, expected more from Mr Ricardo . I had the Salmon tartare and it was tasteless . Maybe too much Quinoa in the mixture and not enough Salmon . My friend had the tacos , they we just ok . The raspberry cheese cake was delicious. Would I rerun ? NO ! Nothing was wow enough to my taste . 2x mojitos , 1 tartare salmon, 1 tacos , 1 cheese cake 106$

Honestly I don t recommend for anyone with a family. I made a reservation 2 weeks prior and when got there they just canceled my reservation and said sorry we need to start closing it was not even their closing time. They were extremely jealous of me and my family how we all looked nice as we were celebrating a birthday. Borderline the woman at the front couldn t handle it. She also didn t like that my family spoke more English pendant que j ai parlé en Français tout le long !!!! They don t know how to speak respectfully at all.

Service is really bad

We loved our private event evening! The staff was very kind and attentive, and the food was delicious!!! The lemon blueberry and lavender cake is probably one of the best I have ever eaten. Truly, we had a wonderful evening in every way. Everyone really appreciated the place and I didnt hesitate to talk to them about how you operate for private events. Thanks to the whole team!!!

The absolute best coffee in Laval. It is actually so underrated. Love to go grab a coffee there, very good quality.

My second visit and I invited a friend. First visit satisfied with salmon tartare but today the salmon very small portion and we asked to go out on the terrace too noisy, difficulty speaking face to face.

What a disappointment your revisited salmon tartare, filled with cereals to fill the plate. In fact, Ive never tried salmon! I had to order a mini salad not included which was faded! Quite a disenchantment with Ricardo :(

But what a great experience! We celebrated a private event recently with almost fifty people and all the feedback was positive. We were able to personalize the decoration right down to the music played. The glasses and small utensils were collected quickly (dinner cocktail service) the staff was available and smiling, water and clean glasses were always accessible, the food was exquisite and we were no longer hungry at the end of the evening . Having the restaurant to yourself was truly an experience. We really felt that the place and the team were at our disposal to ensure an evening that met our expectations. I will not hesitate to recommend this formula to my loved ones. Thanks again! Vegetarian options: Around half of the appetizers offered were vegetarian and all very good.

Very slow service. Our waitress took care of the cash register too. Our table neighbors arrived 10 minutes after us and were served quickly. We had to wait another 15 minutes before receiving our food. The toilet trash cans were overflowing... In short, nothing to do with Ricardo from St-Lambert where everything is perfect.

Overrated place, I dreamed of a dessert, it arrived on the plate quite poorly presented, even a little crushed... for the rest, a good dish despite the commercial naan breads (certainly..) and good coffee without wow but ok. Waitress who rushed us +++ to order even though the restaurant was 3/4 empty, we really felt under pressure. Not super friendly either. After stressing us out, we didnt see her again and we went to the counter to pay. Brief. $100 for 2 without alcohol for lunch.

A very bright and airy modern French bistro style of restaurant, Ricardo has a very upscale and modern take on breakfast/brunch (they also serve dinner) so this is not your typical diner resto...picky eaters beware and check the online menu first. All the meals we ordered were delicious. Pain Dore (French toast) with vanilla encrusted paste and granola, poached egg with spinach and sausage, grilled cheese with sautéed onions...finished off with a double chocolate with raspberry coulis cake. Definitely a nice place, if youre adventurous and looking to try something different. Enjoy! Parking: Located in the heart of Centrepolis you should be able to easily find free parking...although if at dinner time you may have to walk/drive around a bit until you find something.

Me and my wife were amazed, the menu doesnt have 50 choices and its perfect and everything is excellent for lunch, we even went back the next day. The service was perfect

We reserved Café Ricardo Laval for a private event. What a wonderful evening we had! Everything was perfect, we LOVED our experience. The service was impeccable, the waitresses were bright, attentive and really friendly. I appreciated their personalized approach, right down to selecting music to please the birthday person. I thank them very much for making this evening so memorable! They are passionate about their work and you can feel it. And what about the food! It was succulent, very refined and the presentation of the plates was magnificent. I highly recommend, its the perfect place to organize private events.

I organized my mothers 70th birthday there Honestly, it was perfect from A to Z. Wowww the service first of all was impeccable, the girls helped me with everything music and reception meeting deadlines and were very flexible. The food was exquisite and the portions generous, everyone really enjoyed their evening, light, space, sound were perfect. I will definitely be doing events at your place again. Well done, really and a huge thank you to you and the whole team at the service and in the kitchen I couldnt have chosen a better place to celebrate such an important event :) My mother was amazed

I had their French Toast and I was BLOWN AWAY!!! They have their own version of it but its a pure pleasure to eat!!! The service was friendly and we really felt welcome!!! I was looking for a café in Laval that was a little quiet where we could have our own bubble. I decided to experience Café Ricardo in Centropolis. Its a café restaurant so you cant come in, help yourself and choose your seat. Although I wanted something more discreet, the spaces are open. and the tables too close together. The waitress seated me in the middle of a long bench even though the restaurant was still empty when it opened. I had lunch: Croque Madame. The egg was not cooked well. I would have liked the yolk to be covered by a thin white layer while still being liquid. It was good though. As already mentioned, the tables are all glued together. When customers started to settle in left and right. I was like sitting with them. I heard all their discussions. Since it was big, it was a bit noisy. Recommended for those going in a group but not solo.

Great discovery today! As soon as we entered, we received a warm welcome! Although we had not booked, the hostess found a perfect location for us with our two small children. We shared the smoked trout salad, the gnocchi and the sublime salmon and grapefruit tartare. The flavors were perfect, the service impeccable and to finish the desserts were more than perfect! We will definitely come back to discover other little dishes! THANKS!

Came today for brunch at 11:45 , and now they are only doing brunch from 9am to 11:30. On their website it says 11 am to 15hpm anyways we took the carbonara and the gnocchi. It was very blennd. I was so disappointed. Service was long as well. Overall experience is a 3/10.. 3 points comes the drink Poir sour which was the only thing good. Based on my experience and price i wouldn t recommend waaaaay over hyped for what it is. Extremely disappointing for a « chef » café . Kraft dinner is better then the carbonara i had.

We had an amazing lunch I took the bol of rice with beef and zucchini and there was an egg I thought it was a fig but no a brown egg it was soo good with a spicy sesame vinaigrette and then for dessert I asked a piece of carrot cake it was delicious and since it was my friend s birthday they gave it free of charge I will go back excellent service I recommend Parking: Easy parking at Centropolis

Very disappointed, on the phone the hostess told us that it was not necessary to make a reservation. Once we got there we were told that we had to reserve and that there was no place available. Completely ridiculous, I will never return to your establishment, you wasted our time.

Ive come here several times, its always been very good. But today there is a huge difference in my plate. A cauliflower curry, not tasty at all, very bland. Unfortunately, I find that this restaurant is losing ground.

Since Ricardo cafes have been making cakes, they have become our favorite cakes! They are luscious and decadent, well balanced. However, in recent months, the price of cakes has increased from $35 to $42, without the format having changed. During my last order, I even had the impression that the cake was smaller than before (possibly than my imagination). While these cakes were our go to (we regularly ordered them for all occasions), we now order them much less often. Its expensive, a cake for 10-12 people at $70... For the taste of the cakes and the service: 5 stars and even more! But for value for money, I would say 3 stars. If you have a great opportunity, treat yourself! But in other situations, there are competitors with more advantageous prices.

We went for a private dinner event (a 50th birthday) What a privilege to have been received at Café Ricardo! First of all, the 2 people who were on site for reception and service are gems; very available, outgoing, smiling, friendly, pleasant! Wanted to help us with our decorations, took group photos (offered to do so) Truly outstanding employees! It seems they love what they do!! Then the place; what a privilege to have a space for our group! Everything was on the mark . Plus it s a very pretty and clean place. You can decorate, use microphone, screen and speaker. Awesome The food was excellent! Everything is as beautiful for the eyes as it is good for the palate. For my part I had the beef shoulder and it was divinely good! And what about the cake!!! The drinks (especially La Rosée) were also excellent and your servers were able to create a tailor-made drink for the tastes of a few people! What an opening! Nothing was too much trouble for them. Honestly I give you a rating of 10/10 because its the maximum but it was PERFECT from A to Z I will not hesitate to return when I create a new event or to recommend to my loved ones Vegetarian options: 3 meals offered for the group including a vegetarian version Dietary restrictions: Were able to adapt for a person with allergies

They always have a wonderful and different menu but it s really too bad the kids menu is only available at one location. Why? Makes no sense. I would come more often otherwise, but there s no way my aon will eat any of the adult dishes. Pasta and meat sauce he would love but only the Quebec folks get that. Kid-friendliness: There needs to be a couple of kid Friendly items. I feel like this is done on purpose so people with kids don t eat there.

I have been a fan of Ricardo since his debut. I subscribe to his magazine and have tested many of his recipes. We were off this week and my girlfriend and I went to lunch at her café in Laval. What a disappointment! Few choices on the menu. No fruit. A plate for $21 (ham casserole). It was more like a packet of potatoes in a sauce with a few grams of ham. My partner barely ate half of her sandwich (sausage patty). The last times I felt like I was being robbed like this were in Niagara Falls in a lunch restaurant and at the Cancun airport where a sandwich cost me the eyes of my head. I didnt think I would experience that again in Laval and especially at Ricardos!

Everything about this restaurant fell in love with me. I must admit that with the current economic situation where everything is overpriced, this is definitely not the case here. The prices are more than reasonable and when reading the menu I said to myself, the portions must be tiny....far from it....more than generous portions, super delicious dishes made with fresh and local products. A big wow! I recommend to everyone.

Cold welcome but pleasant service., Air conditioning too strong, very long delays in the kitchen, tasteless dishes. The tomatoes in the shakchouka tasted too sour. The shredded ham tasted too floral, masking everything else in the Benedictine dish. General impression of a workshop for trainees to practice with unfinished and unseasoned recipes. Wont go back.

I had lunch with a friend at your restaurant in Laval and I was very disappointed with your Benedictine dish without flavor and very expensive for the meal. No fruit only lots of potatoes with pulled pork. C3 was not the first time but it will be the last time. Too expensive for the quality of your tasteless meals. We pay for the name. Its abusive.

This is not the first time we have visited this place. Our visit last Sunday left us very disappointed. The shrimp roll was good but lacked shrimp. And then served with a mini salad, and a bowl of chips. Theres a lack of imagination for the accompaniments. My partner ate the Foccacia salami. The latter was of questionable taste. Also served with a bowl of chips. We definitely expected better from a meal. Disappointing

This was our first time going to Ricardo s for brunch. My review is not based on the service, which was fantastic, nor on the cleanliness and atmosphere which was great. My review is on price versus quantity, that s why the 3 out of 5 stars, The amount we paid for what we received on our plate, PRICY ! Though what we did order to eat was tasty. Keep your receipts, you get 10% off at his store attached to the restaurant. Not sure if I, we will go back.

I am a regular customer at Ricardos but this time I was disappointed by the service. Neither the hostess nor the waitress ever explained to us that only the brunch menu was available, then we wanted to place the order and at that moment she confirmed the dishes that were no longer available. She then made a request to the kitchen and we had our dishes. The dishes were good and the service afterwards was up to restaurant standard.

Naturellement, puisque c est le café de Ricardo, je m attendais à une cuisine avec des standards (un peu comme l aromate de Jean-François Plante pour ceux qui s en souviennent). J ai pris la cassolette au saumon fumé, les patates n étaient pas cuite, le saumon était archi-sec et la sauce bénédictine était tiède. Je ne recommande pas. Il y a de biens meilleurs cafés aux alentours.

A gem in centropolis! The smoked salmon benedict was amazing. The atmosphere/decorations are modern and very appealing. I highly recommend it compared to Allo mon coco or Chez Cora

Please note this place is not a restaurant. Plate mounted hot/cold table style. Dry and old smoked salmon. The prices absolutely do not reflect the product received. Premade Hollandaise Sauce. The name Ricardo was not reflected there (I have a lot of respect for Ricardo by the way). Without drastic change this place should be avoided.

Aside from the delicious brunch we enjoyed (highly recommend the Croissant doré façon gâteau aux carottes, for a more decadent choice) I felt it equally necessary to highlight the honest staff. After mistakenly adding a 100$ bill to the payment, rather than simply keeping it, a staff member contacted us to alert us. Unfortunately, the name of the lovely waitress that served our table escapes me, however, I still wanted to find a way to say thank you! This is definitely an establishment I recommend and will gladly encourage time and time again!

Great experience with quality products. The dishes are a little expensive but the service is excellent. However, my frittata had pieces of poorly cooked asparagus in places and it was not edible. All in all a nice visit but next time I will definitely order something else. Thank you

Great restaurant that offers something different. There s not a lot of déjà vu and I like that. The manual is simple but everything is fresh. The prices are reasonable and you definitely shouldnt turn your nose up at the dessert. It s perfect for dinner. I recommend!

The service and quality of the food was good, and I would have given 4 stars, but the brunch menu is very limited with only few options and the portions are small.

Great aesthetics, the dining area and presentation are top notch. Not sure where the reputation of great food comes from. Was extremely underwhelmed with the waffle and duck confit. The duck was bland and dry and the waffle was almost indistinguishable from a sponge. Mokaccino and mimosas on the other than were excellent. The wait staff was also extremely helpful and friendly.

Very disappointed with my experience at Ricardo. The food was excellent, but the service left something to be desired. Yet the restaurant wasnt even full. In addition, it s really not made for families: there is no real children s menu and my daughters received their dish after all the adults had been served! We would have liked to have dessert, but as we had to vacate the table by 1 p.m., we couldnt. Really not strong!

Many spots available but we had access denied as we didnt booked table for 2. We were refused breakfast because we did not have a reservation and half of the free tables were available. I didnt expect that I would have to make a reservation to have a simple coffee

Rather disappointed with my experience in this beautiful restaurant. I dont recommend the rhubarb Bostock, the single slice of bread was bland and dry. The rhubarb compote was more sweet than fruity. The latte was too sweet. My partners choice, Grilled cheese with beer-braised ham, was better. The bacon was good. In the end, its not worth the $75 paid for two lunches.

I really liked the environment and the service. Everyone was very hardworking, fast and the place was very clean! I loved the cod acras starter, although it didnt really taste like cod, but it was very good and beautiful on the plate. My partner ordered the salmon tartare and didnt like it at all. The dish tasted like water and lacked an accompaniment to satisfy the appetite. The price was very expensive for what it was. I ordered the grilled cheese. It was good but nothing exceptional. The salad that came with it was tiny. The soup of the day was good. I also had a latte and salted caramel. There was a salted caramel drizzle on top but otherwise the coffee had no salted caramel taste.

I absolutely loved this restaurant. Beautiful welcome, beautiful decoration. Very good service. The chicken salad with watermelon and radish dressing is absolutely a refreshing treat. And the lemon cheesecake is light in the mouth and really delectable, and you are entitled to a 10% discount at the kitchen products store, right next door. I went to this restaurant this morning to celebrate one of my friends birthday and I found an insect on my plate. The waitress was very understanding and suggested several options (credit, free dessert, change my plate). I told him that this had ruined my appetite and I asked him if the restaurant could also pay the bill for my two other friends (one of them had chosen the same plate as me). The waitress told me that she could not make such a decision and that she would contact her manager. The manager came to tell me that the restaurant could not pay for the two other people who were with me because they had finished what was on their plate and they had not found an insect. I told him that the friend who had taken the same plate as me had not finished her plate because she too was disgusted by the situation and that our plates had probably been prepared together. The manager was neither courteous in her response and seemed bothered by my request and ended up telling me if you want, don t leave her tip and left. I can understand that my request to pay for all 3 plates was not accepted, but I find that the approach of this manager was not adequate or professional knowing that the lunch of a customer (me) had been ruined by an insect that wasnt a fly or an ant.

Always satisfied with the food, but disappointed that one Sunday we were asked to leave because another reservation was waiting for our table. We would have been less offended if everything had been mentioned at the time of booking. I find this approach very disappointing.

Its simply delicious every time you visit. And dont forget to taste the mimosa of the day!

Went for brunch (they only serve their brunch on weekends). Simply presented food, made with quality ingredients, very tasty. Portions were not too big. Above average restaurant with good service.
