Its THE reference for fishnchips on the edge of Montreal! Excellent service, comforting food, its good for the soul! The pea soup and cauliflower soup are fantastic, the Queen Elizabeth cake, although tasty, is more of a vanilla sugar cream cake instead. The coconut pie lacks fluffyness. Next time, Ill try their blueberry pie! Oh yes, try the dill tartar sauce, it s a game changer! Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of disabled spaces and a comfortable ramp. Also plenty of space between tables.

It s true that this is the place to eat the best Fish & Chips. Outstanding service, I was alone at lunchtime with at least 50 to 60 other customers and I got a table immediately. The service by Linda was excellent and so were the dishes. Leek cream starter, pudding au chômeur dessert and coffee and of course the fish cooked wonderfully well, the only downside was the fries were a little undercooked but overall this establishment deserves the 5 stars I gave it.

Everything is super good, reasonable prices and excellent service. Arrive a good 30 minutes before youre hungry, its always full

Good neighborhood restaurant for seafood. We went for fish and chips, 1 piece and 2 piece version. Good portion, the coleslaw is perfect, not too vinegary. We had a table dhôte with soup, dessert and tea/coffee, good value for money. Its not haute cuisine but its a perfect place for a comforting meal. Seems very popular with a loyal clientele. If you have a table dhôte, I recommend the Queen Elizabeth Cake rather than the Pudding Chômeur, both come with a very sweet sauce. Be careful they close early (8:00 p.m.)! Excellent fish and chip. The owners are super welcoming. Excellent employees. Great service. Succulent food. The food is always as good and there are always line-ups of queues but there are benches outside with comfortable cushions to wait until there are tables that become available.

You must specify to the waitress when ordering that you want crispy fries. It is a very popular restaurant with elderly customers and there is often a wait before entering. Comme entrée nous avons pris le calamar frit; beaucoup de friture et peu de calamar. Nous avions pris un repas avec deux fish&chips et on nous a fait payer $4.00 pour avoir une assiette supplémentaire.

Best fish and chip I ever had, and Im comparing it to Halifax and St. Johns fresh caught meals Ive had. The place looks a little dated but the food and service are sooo amazing you come to appreciate the simplicity of the place. The lines outside were constant and theyre prepared because they even have a covered seating area to protect you from the elements while you eagerly wait for deliciousness. Nostalgic Québec family restaurant. Only negative, prices à little steep on some plates but table dhôte makes up for it. Parking: You have a fairly large lot in back, very full, some street parking across from restaurant, busy street. If you had kids i reccomend parking in neighborhood behind parking lot to avoid busy road crossing. Kid-friendliness: Theyre very accomodating to the little ones, however dont let them run around. They work hard and fast cause the plates were piping hot when we got them so we witnessed a few close encounters around us with roaming little ones as did we just going to the bathroom Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of wheelchair parking spots. Theres a ramp to enter the restaurant and tables are spaced far enough to have some healthy traffic go between them and of course a wheelchair as well with oposite traffic movement too.

The rice is of poor quality and hard to swallow. The salad is not very fresh We must make a better effort, especially since the majority of customers are elderly people. Otherwise the rest is passable but it seems that the quality of the food has deteriorated over time unlike previous years which was of better quality

I had a fish & chip plate and my wife had a Caesar salad. Since I took 3 bites of salad and my wife 4 bites of fish on my plate they wanted to charge me $4.00 for a dish to share. And the waitress even sent me the owner. Very bad experience. And Im not the only one in the restaurant who wants to take two plates and taste their partners dish.

We have always said to ourselves, for many years, who should go eat there. Ultra fast service in the middle of the afternoon before the big dinner rush. The fish & chips were very good. A light breading on a large piece of fish. 1 piece is more than enough. A little coleslaw accompanies this dish, as well as tartar sauce, with a little too much mayonnaise for my taste. Decor a bit old, but I think thats the style of the restaurant. Menu under the glass of the table, I imagine it is for the speed of service. $$$ This restaurant is so popular that there is a waiting room outside under a temporary shelter.

I ordered take out so dont hav much to say, i didnt like the desert, portion is just for women not for gourmant men

1 Star is for parking, because we were never able to be placed by the person at reception who said to wait outside, when we werent causing any harm! We went out and she opened the door like a madwoman saying that we had to wait downstairs in a Tempo like place, she said that we were bothering the customers who were leaving! There were no customers who left when we were shouted at, we were 7 non-arrogant people this Tuesday, 10/24/23 evening at 5:15 p.m. for this reason we left because we did not see ourselves being placed by a non-respectful person ! Luckily, dinner went well elsewhere with courteous service! For the first time we can t say we will return!

I have been visiting Le Chalutier MLM for many years this time I dared to taste something different than the famous Fish and Chips I indulged in the grilled cod WOW IT IS a pleasure for the palate!!! You can also taste any homemade dessert this time I had the pudding chômeurs a delight, my husband preferred to stay with the Fish and Ships both had the famous fries their coleslaw humm yum it is unique , the vegetables are not cooked too hard, perfect for me, I dont like them when they are too crispy, otherwise it is too difficult to bite into. My husband chose for dessert I kept a dessert for the finale humm yum yum it was delicious a strawberry fruit spill it was really good Im already looking forward to this choice for next time. Have a good evening and enjoy your meal until next time. I forgot that the outdoor parking lot and the toilet entrance are also accessible to wheelchairs as well as the dining room. Also, be patient, we had to wait almost 1:00 hours to get our turn. On the other hand they are very well organized there is a time heating outside with chairs its the first time Ive seen such a thing its really good. @+ bye-bye see you soon. Not many restaurants appeal to me, but the trawler has the best fish and chips, its like home.

The service and courtesy of the staff is really worth highlighting. The fish and chips were really excellent. I am allowing myself to give a 4 star in total because the places need a revamp, in order to improve the experience and the atmosphere.

If youre looking for a fish & chip place outside of downtown Montreal this is the place. It was packed on a Friday night, all 100 seats. They dont take reservations. Caters mostly to local 60+ crowd. Cafeteria style menu. Feels very homey, like eating at grandmas house. Casual attire. Large portions of haddock with a light and crispy batter. Would have given 4 stars if it wasnt for the tasteless mayo Tartar sauce. Go but bring your own Tartar.
