Excellent family dinner! The beef cheek wow. All of our meals were delicious.

I had a very nice evening in this restaurant. The service was excellent and attentive. At first, I found the place a little noisy, but I quickly got carried away by the atmosphere and paid no more attention to it proof that the evening was a success! The food was delicious and affordable, and the fact that its BYOB is a big plus. I will definitely go back!

Honestly, steak fries will always be one of my favorites in the restaurant business. The food is super good, the fries are unlimited, it s bring your own wine and the value for money is very good. The portions are correct, the staff is nice. The only thing if you want to enjoy unlimited fries, come at least 1h30 before closing. Finally I recommend the filet mignon with lobster tail.

first time in Montreal, had the best experience at Steak Frites St Paul! our server was very attentive and the food was absolutely incredible. the calamari and octopus were perfection, the tartar was delicious, and of course the steak frites were amazing. be sure to try the profiterole as well, so so good! thank you for a great dinner, this is a place you can t miss

Reservation Saturday February 24 for 10 people, for 17 30 we are informed that there is another service at 8 p.m. so 45 minutes before receiving 4 starters subsequently another 45 minutes to receive our main dishes including a steak too much cooked. Then after being served 25 minutes to receive coffee first and 15 minutes later dessert for 4 people. To finalize the whole error on my bill for 5 people with 1 host table including coffee and dessert. I am charged 3 coffees and 2 desserts in addition to my bills, all the little 13 on my bill at 0.50 each, the waitress had to redo my bills 3 times..plus 1 dimmed light right in the center of the table it was necessary s light up with our cell phones to see the menu and the bill. THIS IS THE LAST TIME AT THIS RESTAURANT...

Good food but too noisy.

Steak fries is MY favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, they have lost my respect with their bathroom poster. From today, its over for us. You could have had a completely different approach such as unisex toilets, then you would have had a little more respect from me but to encourage gender ideology in your restaurants knowing everything that is happening in our schools across the country, its frankly insulting for a regular for over 20 years like me! For the rest, the food was OK and the prices have exploded in recent years. Is it really worth $350 for 5 people? Ugh, no. If you go to the grocery store, it will certainly cost you less than half the price for a similar result without the astronomical costs that it involves.

Really a nice place with a nice atmosphere. It was packed! The squid starter was very good, followed by the filet mignon and scallops. I admit that its been a long time since I ate such good meat cooked to perfection!

It started off rather badly with the absence of 2 out of 5 meats on the menu. The wait was long, 45 minutes to be served. On the other hand, bringing your own wine, at this price for a quality of meat is simply EXTRAORDINARY. highly recommended

Super good, my steak and fries were cooked as I asked, the meat very good, the unlimited fries delicious. Unfortunately we had a lack of service. No one to greet us at the entrance. 2 dishes and a dessert were no longer available but we were not informed before making our choice. We had to wait more than 20 minutes before receiving the dishes. Really a shame because it was delicious.

Great service but when it comes to cooking we are disappointed. We each got a flank steak and the cooking was not correct. My wifes was blue instead of rare and mine was rare instead of medium. We still ate well but were disappointed.

The service is good and the steak was very good! I also liked the hot goat cheese as a starter. However, the classic beef tartare was not very tender.

Went for dinner as a couple and ordered entrées and main course. While the entrées were good, I can`t say the same about my New York steak. It was supposed to be aged for 35 days but it was in fact rubbery and tasteless, much like a Utility-grade blade roast. I know aged beef as I consume it regularly, both at home and in restaurants, but this one gave the impression I was eating my shoes. For this reason, it will be my last time eating there.

Great steakhouse in Laval. If u are from other parts of Canada and want to experience a change from the Keg..i highly recommend to give this place a try.

Very slow service and plate served with no personalized service unless asked, glass of water and glass of wine were not filled. Much smaller portion than shown on the menu with no seasoning on the steak, bland pepper sauce. Cheap squid starter, but not worth much either. Extremely disappointing experience for a bill of $120 with tip for two people. Next time Im going to pay for my bottle of wine at the Keg!

Great experience, bring your own wine. Our waitress was welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere is pleasant. The location of our table was not good and we were too close to other people which created a great lack of privacy. I will definitely go back and try to be placed in a different location. The food did not live up to our expectations. Parking: Parking is free but there is plenty of traffic with all the restaurants.

Great place me and my guest were very good Parking: For Laval it was hard to park, you had to park in front of the container door at the back of the place quite far from the entrance.

We went there without reservation and they accepted 4 people. They told us we had 1.5 hours to eat and then leave, which I find was strange. We accepted as we were sure they would not kick us out if we stayed 1/2 hour more (dont want to choke on steak). We waited 20 minutes for our meal. My friend ordered the New york steak and it was fatty and rubbery. I wanted a rib steak but they did not have. They provide you with little fries and then they come back to see if you want more. They charge 50cents for tiny bread which is ridiculous. Service was poor as waiter hardly came by to verify if all was ok. Ambiance was not great. We would not return back.

My 8 months pregnant wife and two of our friend with two kids total guest of 8. However the server was very pushy, the lamb was dry and when my wife asked her why is it so dry she said that s how it s supposed to be, at the same time my friend lamb was juicy. Our bill was 400$. I would not go back due to service. They 0.5$ per bread. I would not go back.

My grandmothers favorite restaurant when she comes down from Gaspésie. There is something for all ages and tastes, my pesco-vegetarian friend finds what he is looking for. We tried several items from the menu and are always satisfied, the salmon tartare and the lamb shank made people happy.

This was our 4th experience at this Laval restaurant (twice I chose the scallops, delicious as can be!) and each time it was a wonderful evening! THANKS !

Bang bang shrimp as always

The best lobster tail Ive ever eaten. Cooked to perfection, excellent. It comes with the land and sea. The filet mignion was also perfectly cooked, but not very tasty, it would benefit from being cooked on a grill, or being marinated, to give it flavor. The bang bang shrimp for starters were excellent too. The waitress was impeccable, particularly friendly. Being able to bring your own wine is always interesting.

Usually its 5 stars but today it was 3 stars because my filet mignon was MOINE TRENDRE and my partner didnt get the plate he ordered so it took longer for him and also the waitress asked if I wanted other fries but I never got them so when we say unlimited fries!! so this time VERY DISAPPOINTED because I absolutely like the Restaurant.

Small, relaxed evening with guests where we can hear each other talk while eating well. Our host (Caroline) was friendly, helpful and smiling with impeccable service. A $$ price but a bring your own wine. The beef tartare with parmesan bacon ($32) with unlimited fries which was well seasoned and the portion was just enough. The classic delicious crème brûlée. We enjoyed our meal. Great discovery.

Beautiful, good, inexpensive. I find that it is one of the restaurants that is consistent in the quality of the dishes and the always impeccable service. You should expect to pay around $120 for 2 people including a starter and a main course. It s rare that you can eat steak at this price in restaurants. A few years ago the small house green salad was included but this is no longer the case. As for good hot cross buns, you have to pay $0.50. Personally, I think it s cheap to mention it, I should just charge the plate a little more but hey

Very bad service , the waiter wasn t coming to our table to ask abt our needs , the food was cold and tasteless the whole service was one of the worst ever experience , we came to celebrate a birthday party but the whole birthday vibe was destroyed Kid-friendliness: The food was very cold , not well seasoned, the service was very poor , lack of service ! And because of the bad service and the food taste that was disgusting, we gave 25$ tip for an amount of 450$ receipt! The waiter forced us to pay 45$ tip for their miserable service ! Never ever go there

The good years of Steack&Frite St-Paul are behind them unfortunately. It has been a long time since I returned and it no longer has anything to do with what it was before. Toilets on our arrival moderately clean (while it was not busy..), ordinary service, cooking and cutting of meat not adequate, sauce and salad dressing (salad was included in the past, this is no longer the case..), no longer seems like before, fries thrown in your plate by the waitress without refinement, hard and overcooked, uncomfortable chair, noisy++, too dark..In short, finished this place for me..

La gérante ou la chef d équipe plutôt était extrêmement arrogante. Elle a même assumé que je n avais pas laissé de tip à notre serveuse, alors qu il avait un billet mauve sur la table. Un gros manque de respect. De plus, on entendait qu elle pensait clairement juste à l argent et non à la satisfaction des clients. Je vous déconseille fortement.

The only reason why my rating is not lower is because the food was decent. Staff is friendly but seemed very unorganized. We got another table order. Waiter would accidentally drop stuff on the floor and leave it there without picking up after themselves. We also had to wait like 15-20 minutes just to get our bill. For a Sunday, half capacity, I would honestly expect better.

During our last visit to Steak Frite Laval, we had a horrible experience. The air conditioning wasn t working well. It was super hot and uncomfortable. Our steaks were dry and chewy, nobody came to offer me more fries. Unfortunately we will not be going back ever again.

Good but bad cooking for some people

Service is slow, food was average but the reason I give it 2 stars is the pettiness of charging 50 cents for you each bun you order! Seriously? Many better steakhouses in Montréal put this one to shame and don t insult you charging you for buns on a $120 + bill. This is restaurant pretending to be above average behaving like a sub standard one. Spoke to the manager about it and she couldn t have cared less. Gave me a speech about how in Europe they charge for bread lol! The owner should pick better staff.

For the price: the salad was nasty, my steak wasn t cooked properly (med well when asked for rare) , the soup was watered down, nobody came to ask if we wanted more fries or any water.. very poor service.. baton rouge blows you out of the water and it s not even close.. never again the food that was on the board, the waitress said it wasn t available.. so why its on the board and not erased..

Food: As a starter, normal squid and absolutely delectable scallops. For the meal, duck leg and unpalatable piece of red meat. The unlimited fries lacked seasoning. For dessert, the chocolate fondant was very soft and chocolatey.

Its a shame that for a small portion of steak for $35 (tasty, yes, for example), youre charged 35 cents for each small roll from Costco... you cant eat enough for the price.
