The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Laval in Laval

First experience today at the Keg. I was pleasantly surprised. Nice atmosphere. Good service. Affordable prices for such a classy place. I really liked this outing at this place.

I recommend the French menu, which is slightly cheaper :-). Management was gently made fun of for the blunder, but it was good natured, and they apologized. The atmosphere was friendly, the service impeccable, and the meat absolutely delicious!

This restaurant is perfect for anyone who wants a carefully chosen gastronomic experience. impeccable service, not to mention the atmosphere which was conducive to great discussions. For my part I was served by Samy, a true gentleman.

The cote de boeuf was chewy. It was good but not as good as usual. I usually come to the keg a couple of times a year, so i can tell the difference. The bake potatoe monte carlo skin was dry, not eatable

Despite a reservation, the wait is much too long: between 15 and 30 minutes before being seated. It s really frustrating, especially when you expect everything to be ready when you arrive. The service at the entrance could clearly be improved, as the organization seems to be lacking. That said, the food is very good and tasty, so that makes up for it a little. It s a shame that the experience is spoiled by the reception and the waiting time.

I had an amazing dining experience at The Keg! From start to finish, everything was perfect. My Old Fashioned was expertly crafted, with just the right balance of flavors it s easily one of the best I ve had. For my main course, I tried the salmon with pistachios, and it was absolutely delightful. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the pistachio crust added a wonderful texture and flavor that elevated the dish. The service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I ll definitely be back for another fantastic meal. Highly recommended!

How is it possible when u order the same menu for the same cooking from keg to another and it is served differently? I visited the keg Toronto 2 weeks ago ordered a well medium steak and it was perfectly presented and offered and it was the best so far vs yesterday ordered the same cooking request and it was horribly presented i had to ask them to cook it more and they returned it burnt. Very disappointing

Restaurant full of rats

Ive been to the keg multiple times and I always had a great experience, except last night. I visit the restaurant with my partents (66 and 62 years old), we had a table reserved and we got there 5 minutes in advance. We were only sitted around 15 minutes after our reservation time, altough its not a big deal, the fact they never bothered to say anything like were sorry you had to wait it was first sign. We were then sitted in a very tight space ( 2 seniors and 1 adult) that obviously didnt have space for 3 people. When the host who guided us to our table sorry our reaction she said she was sorry it was a small table and left. A few minutes later, a couple was sitted on a table for 4 right in front of us. Our waiter brought the menus and once I was able I asked to be moved, he came back saying that it would but it would take 20 minutes. After that absolutely nothing was done to make our experience a bit more enjoyable. Honestly, when you start your experience in a restaurant like that everything else seems worst and leads to frustated clients that decide to spend their times writing a review here. I swear I would use the keg before as an example of great service.. not anymore.

Food is always super yummy and it s no different at this Keg location in Laval. Happy with the experience.

My parents went to The Keg on their anniversary and they had a great dinner, excellent service special thank you to Nico even offered them free dessert. 10/10 across the board.

Tried 3 kegs and this one is very nice. Located near shopping mall Carrefour Laval, its big, with nice ambiance. The service was 10/10 with great food. Pricing is a bit steep, but still reasonable for fancy steaks. Worth it. Dietary restrictions: Very well done. My GF is diabetic and has a gluten restriction. The host came to explain to us how theyll make sure no contamination occurs and which meals are safe. Was appreciated! Parking: Next to a major mall, parking is a challenge! Youll find one after youve gone around a few times, may he far from the resto.

We went on October 25 around 8:45pm. Firstly, a 15 minute wait, even with a reservation. I had mentioned wanting a conventional table and was put on the extremely uncomfortable high chairs. The service was extremely long. The squid had no taste, very blended and dry. The rest of the food was very good. Otherwise the waitress was quite basic, the service nothing to wow. Our water glasses were often empty. We wanted dessert but after 2 hours of time in total we decided to skip this step. We love the Keg downtown, but the one in Laval is just beautiful.

Arriving about 30 minutes of waiting, friendly and courteous service. Started with a Whiskey sour (which tasted like water, despite 2 ounces) Took scallops and cheese as a starter, 10 ounce filet mignon, very good by the way with sautéed (or rather burnt) vegetables, missing cooking and too burnt, finished with a crème brûlée which was good. To try at least once.

I go to Keg Laval and Old Montreal about ten times a year since 2010. Everything is excellent But since 2023 we can come across mediocre waitresses. This is the case this Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Keg Laval. I invited friends to share with them the great experiences of the Keg. But Zero the waitress was annoying and contemptuous, without manners. She touched her nose throughout the service and etc... White waitress with tied black hair....I wont say her name. If a supervisor reads this comment, know that when customers are dissatisfied with the service at the Laval keg, its probably her theyre talking about.

Im a big Keg fan, any location. I always find myself here! I especially like the filet mignon, but any cut is enjoyable. You can order medium rare and receive it as that. There are many great items and the service at all the locations Ive been to has always been excellent.

What a pleasant 1st time experience at this steakhouse. The drinks and food was delicious and well prepared and served. For a steak house, the presentation and cooking of the prime rib was about as bad as I have seen. I asked for medium rare and it came out looking like it had been microwaved. There was no attention on the presentation of the steak. There was a huge, flaccid, white piece of fat that has nothing to do with adding flavour. Even when I asked for it to be re cooked, it was badly presented on the plate. The cheesecake was too dry. Very average food, dreadful presentation of the signature dish .it will be my last time in a Keg Steakhouse.

Superb restaurant experience. The atmosphere was very good. The service was exceptional, it was carried out by three experienced people. Our meals were excellent. Parking: During peak periods for restaurants, it may be slightly difficult to find parking nearby but no problem.

As always from the moment we were greeted by the hostess and taken to our table to the excellent service and recommendations provided by Gabriel, we felt at home. Our meal from was exceptional as usual from start to finish. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the roast beef was a perfect medium rare. The service was impeccable. Sami gave us excellent service. He knew his products very well and recommended dishes to us. Fortunately we listened to him, the dishes were delicious. Sami is a very good server. I hope you benefit from a service from him. I recommend The Keg for the many steak choices and their mashed potatoes. We spent a lovely romantic evening on the terrace.

The starters were incredible and the attention to the wedding anniversary was appreciated. The specialty is supposed to be prime rib. However, all 3 ribs were completely missed. I am very aware that this piece of meat is fatty but the pieces were 50% fat and more. Incidentally, for one of the main meals, there was a 14 eleven but Im almost certain I received a 10 eleven. I often have dinner at Keg with high bills compared to average. This is the first time Ive been really disappointed. I had this restaurant in high esteem but it has just dropped significantly in satisfaction. To be honest, I wont go back there again for the quality of its meat. Please note that we did not penalize the waitress.

It was our first time at this restaurant. Our waitress looked at the end of her life. 20 minutes to get a drink, she apologizes for the wait OK. We always have to stop her on the fly, because she never comes to see us. We order a starter, no good appetite. For the meal, my friends medium rare steak was more cooked than my well done. Another didnt have the right dish. But once again no good appetite, nor to know if the cooking was to our taste. At the time of the bill we were clearly her last table, she didnt ask us how it worked just pitched the 4 bills. We were eating dessert when she arrived with the machine. I understand that you can have bad days as a waitress too, but that shouldnt affect our service.

Pleasantly surprised, the Keg Steakhouse offers quality service from entry to exit. Great service, exquisite flavors, generous portions and finally a really reasonable bill. I highly recommend it. Parking: Plenty of outdoor seating. Wheelchair accessibility: There is even a lift big enough for wheelchairs.

We were meeting another couple for dinner. We were the first to arrive and the hostess wasn t particularly friendly. The young lady who showed us to our table made up for the previous one as she was engaging and friendly. Our waitress Katia was superb. Friendly and efficient and with a smile on her face. We all enjoyed her service. I wanted to order a beer but did not like their draft selections. My wife s Aperrol spritz was average. My wife ordered the 6 ounce top classic top sirloin and she said it was a good steak. I had the 18 ounce prime rib (see picture) and it arrived looking like someone had dropped it. It was a good prime rib but not the best I ve had. Another disappointment was cold French fries and too little jus. Also we were inundated with fruit flies the whole evening and when we asked the waitress, the reason was the fruits from the bar. My wife and my friends wife were swatting all night. I guess due to the hair products. Time for a solution to that!!! Overall the service really made the difference. I wouldn t say don t go but I m not in a hurry to go back. Parking: Mall parking can be challenging during mall opening hours but gets better after mall closes

Good morning, I have been a loyal customer of Keg Steakhouse across Canada for over 45 years and this is the first time I have had a very bad experience. LAST EVENING WITH FRIENDS WE HAD DINNER AT THE BAR VERY NEAR THE KITCHEN. WHEN ENTERING WE NOTICED YOUR LOBSTER GUIDE ADVERTISING. With a good beer Out of four three we chose the guédille. What disappointments Hot Dog Bun cut at ends No salad at the bottom of the bread, Soggy Bread And even worse THERE WERE MORE ROCK THAN LOBSTER. WHAT A DESAPPOINTMENT. ALTHOUGH THE WAITRESS CREDIT US A GUEDILLE AND OFFERED A DESSERT IT IS UNACCEPTABLE TO DISPLAY A LOBSTER RING WHICH IN REALITY AT 28.00 WAS NOT ONE. ON THE THREE ROLLS THERE WAS NOT EVEN HALF A LOBSTER. And for the taste out of 10 a poor 5 On the other hand, as always, the desserts were excellent.

I am always very satisfied when I go to Keg, particularly the one in Laval. This time was just as exceptional. I would like to highlight the excellent service from Maude as well as the manager Jean-Xavier.

Very good steaks and very good quality service. The meat preparation is excellent. The atmosphere is superb, especially the roof terrace.

All staff members are warm and friendly. You can tell they want you to have a great dining experience. It is the absolute best filet mignon I ve had. Dietary restrictions: The manager came to me personally to reassure me that his kitchen was 100% secure for my allergies and intolerance.

3 out of 4 people at our table chose the 8oz sirloin and half lobster. This dish is $62 on the menu, $70 on the online menu and $81 on the bill, totaling a steal of $60 +tx+%pb... Parking: I saw reserved seating for nearby restaurants but not for Keg.

This is by far my favorite restaurant. I love starting with their succulent fried calamari and a pina colada. The filet mignon cooked medium-rare with Monte Carlo potatoes is delicious. To finish their mocha cake melts in your mouth with a sweet and mild taste. Its a little cold in the room because of the air conditioning. But otherwise I am satisfied with the restaurant

We ate at KEG with friends, and 2 people in our group ate the blackened chicken and had a shit afterwards. Chicken not fresh - shame for this type of restaurant. We wont come back!

A sure value when you want a good steak and a romantic evening. The service is according to your luck. You can find an experienced waiter who understands the level of service expected in a steakhouse meal served hot, wine left aerated without emptying the whole bottle in your first glass... So unfortunately, the service is at your risk and peril but generally we are well served. If you detect that your server lacks experience ordered the starter and only after your main course also no, you will eat a cold steak... Hi hi bon appetit!

Had great expectations when we booked with my partners family for his birthday. But how can you expect great tip with poor service???? Hostess i assume infront i told her it was my partners birthday she said she would note it to the server of our table. But server never ever acknowledged it was his day. The waiting time gap in between appetizers and our mains was agonizingly long. When we got our steak is it normal to pay that much for a dry steak??? Step it up lower priced sit down restaurants do service better. never again laval lol

First time there but not the last!

Well, we visit the Keg on many occasions, but our last experience was a bit dissapointing, especially it was our wedding anniversary. Cooking levels were not respected (I ordered one medium well steak, it came well done, my wife ordered well done, came medium rare), but after all, still tasty, no complaints. SO, our waitress Audrey made it up for us, she noticed that without us telling her, she took the necessary steps and actions to guarantee our satisfaction, Respect!! Thank you Audrey for your great service, your smile, and giving the customer the value he deserves ! It takes one thing to go wrong to lose the good image of a restaurent, but one champion to save it.

We had wanted to go for a while we had received a gift card so we made a reservation looking forward to this special dinner having worked at Brandys in old Montreal which was part of the keg label I was especially excited we were greeted and were sat behind the cash so alot of traffic then my husband had the roast beef and I chicken the waitress ask us if she could suggest a wine our meal was good but not was expected ordinary and when we received the bill the bottle of wine was costing us 70 dollars not cool on the part of the waitress to not inform us of the amount of course I could of asked how much but she could have asked how much we wanted to pay all to say our experience was very very disappointing I will never go back and anyone I know I make share my experience and tell that the keg is overrated and not to waste their money I remember the Keg being completely different beware not worth it

I go to Keg regularly, about thirty times a year, both at the PVM, in Old Montreal, and in Ottawa. Le Keg is hands down the best chain of steakhouses. In Laval, unfortunately, it is different. Despite a magnificent restaurant and terrace and food that exceeds our expectations on 99% of occasions, the service leaves something to be desired. My last three experiences in Laval have been bad. Before, I was served at the terrace bar by a sharp, fast and friendly guy. Now, the employees dont even get up to see if there is a place or something to do to accommodate you. We make fun of you at the reception. One visit, I ordered a blue steak, but it arrived medium borderline well cooked. Not wanting to make a big deal out of it, I eat my steak but I keep a slice to show the waiter when he comes back so he can alert the kitchen to avoid this kind of mistake again. The waiter told me it was the light and the sun that made the steak appear more cooked. I was stunt and I had to show him up close that it was not a blue steak (I worked in catering and rest assured that I know how to recognize steak cooking). Another time, I arrived at 8 p.m. and I had 1 hour to eat. So I have a beer and some shrimp. I take a chance and ask the waiter about the wait time for a steak. The waiter tells me that the kitchen is not busy and that a minion bleu filet would arrive in 15-20 minutes. At 8:51 p.m., he was chatting with people at the end of the bar. When I reminded him of my order he came back with my steak 1 minute later. I had to ask for it to take away because I didnt have time to eat anymore. I paid $85 for a steak which I reheated the next day, a beer and a shrimp cocktail. Not super sharp. My last visit was this week for lobster. The terrace was literally empty. The service was good to begin with, the lobster was excellent. The Keg is probably one of the restaurants that prepares lobster best. It is well cooked, well pre-cracked (the only thing missing is the garlic butter as always at the Keg). That said, when it came time to pay, it was impossible to attract the attention of the waitress. I waited 10 to 20 minutes to get my bill. Rather than arriving with the Interact machine, it disappeared. I had to wait even longer. Finally, tired of waiting, I paid cash with what I had on me with a tip reduced to 15% because of the wait, instead of the 20-25% that I normally leave. In short, nice place, good food, but the service at Keg de Laval is not up to par. At the PVM Keg, managers monitor carefully and intervene quickly, which is not the case in Laval.

Cozy and comfortable atmosphere. The dishes were a little salty in general but the cooking was perfect for all our meats. Super attentive and pleasant service.

We got a private room on the occasion of one of my friend s birthday. The servers did a great job, I m not blaming them, but the food and the atmosphere was HORRIBLE. Half of the people s meat were undercooked. We order a medium well and we get a rare! It s like they did not hear us how we wanted our meat cooked! For the atmosphere part, we ve gotten a private room as I mentioned above. The heat was UNREAL, we couldn t stay inside for even an hour due to the heat. We had to step out then come back and vice versa. I highly would not recommend this place. There s better Kegs in Montreal.

Service was awesome, however the food was not great. I ordered a well done prime rib and I receive a rare prime rib It s been 2 days I went to this place with my friends for a dinner and half of us are still feeling very unwell. Definitely would not recommend this Keg. Try the one in Downtown Montreal, it s definitely better.

Good memories of the Keg and a year without returning. Will probably be 5 years without coming back. Quite so-so! Cooking of 2 out of 4 meats not to perfection, the dishes arrived too early, the wine too late.... disappointing!

Great service, great food, the staff was nice and funny. The calamari entree was AWESOME. perfectly cooked. even the bread that they brought to the table was hot and fresh. the prime rib was delicious and so was the chicken. well seasoned, juicy, and just full of flavor. Price was great for the quality of food that you got.

I regularly go to Keg at Place Ville-Marie and in Laval. I am a fairly regular customer there, who does not skimp on tipping and who is easy to serve. Arriving at Keg Ville-Marie, as someone who often dines alone, I always find a place at the bar despite the crowds. In Laval, I am simply told that there is no room, even though the bar has several small spaces available. No effort is made on the part of the employees. The other day, someone was supposed to call or text me as soon as a place became available, but I never received any news. Last time, the employees were even more nonchalant. In short, the welcome is not that of the Keg in Ottawa, Montreal or Saint-Bruno - sadly. I just wont go there anymore.

Nice restaurant for 5@7 or weekend night out. Like the ambiance vibes with comfortable seating. Reservation is recommended on weekends and Fridays nights. In general the food is very good. Despite a reservation we had to wait 25 minutes to get a table. When I reserve I expect my table to be reserved. There were around thirty of us who had reservations and had to wait. It is clear that the restaurant makes more reservations than its capacity to properly accommodate its customers. At the price the bill is I would expect better service.

I visit this Keg quite frequently whether its with family or friends. I am focusing on rating the average of my experiences in all fairness, but unfortunately my most recent one was pretty disappointing due to the poor service. The food has been consistently incredible, theres no doubt about that. I highly recommend either the Filet Mignon for the ultimate experience, or for a more cost effective experience the New York Striploin would be an excellent option as well. In large groups, we seem to get quite a variance in terms of the cookage (i.e. undercooked/overcooked with respect to what we ordered), but the quality is always there. As a side, the twice baked potato is by far the best option. The ambiance is quite nice as well in terms of lighting, environment, seating, decoration, etc. Definitely appropriate for most occasions. The service however has been gradually declining for a while. Our latest experience was quite dreadful as we waited at least a half hour over the time we had reserved, and very long between subsequent stages (ordering food and time between meals, etc). The whole night ended up taking nearly 4 hours and it became exhausting. There was also negligible service in terms of feedback or tailoring to any need whatsoever (something as simple as getting water or missing utensils, etc), it was really the bare minimum as if the waiter did not want to be there whatsoever. Honestly if this had been my only experience, I would never go back. However I hope this was a one-time thing and will be remedied in future visits. Certainly not what you would expect from a restaurant of this much prestige. Overall, the food was worth it, but consistency across the board is very important in order to earn a 5 star review, and the service is just not up to par with usual Keg standards.

The restaurant has lost its special touch for birthdays. I go there for all our birthdays. Usually, this is highlighted with a courtesy cake and a Bengal fire. Yesterday, several customers celebrated their birthdays. I didnt see any sparklers or candles. Plus, the cake was charged $11!!! Since we have to pay for it, the waitress should have at least asked us to choose the type of cake... Parking: Uses the parking lot of a very popular shopping center, so difficult to find a space. Access is only outside, so you have to walk outside for a long time...

What a great evening for a friends party! We were sitting at the Keg bar in Laval and the service from Thomas and the other person helping him at the bar (whose name I dont have) was excellent. Even though Thomas was very busy, he took the time to chat with us and made sure everything was to our liking. We each ate a rare baseball steak (my friend with fries and I with the always excellent Monte-Carlo potato), with the addition in my case of the blue cheese crust, and both the steak and the cooking were perfect. The sangria made by Thomas (one pink and one red) was also a real delight, try them! Thats what I like about Keg: its always the same culinary experience as with the service as they have standardized everything. That s why we re never disappointed when we go there! Finally, thank you to the manager Pierre-Alexandre who made our evening even more perfect, as if it were possible, by offering us something for my friends party. Great service, great food and reasonable prices, wed be crazy to do without it!

We had booked for a 45th wedding anniversary, a round table with bench #10 for 6 people, 2 months in advance and reconfirmed 4 days before our Saturday evening dinner on May 11th. But when we arrived the table had been given to someone else.???? Even though we had arrived 20 minutes before our reservation time. In addition, one of my nieces had called the Keg restaurant to have us served a bottle of wine for this special occasion and they confirmed that they could not find us and even gave her all the details of the reservation such as names, number of people etc. So we find it to be a blatant lack of professionalism and poor reservation service. The waiter Jean Michel offered us flawless, prompt and very professional service, we ate very well and we have been to the Keg restaurant several times but this time we were very disappointed with the situation, especially the table which granted we were cramped compared to the bench with round table such as no #10 or 43.

Last night we were at the keg laval to celebrate 2 birthdays. We usually have all our celebrations at the keg. This is now the 3rd visit in a row that I have to send back a meal. I ordered my usual 10oz filet mignon, cooked medium. I received meat that was just about well done. I sent it back only to have the whole table completely finish their meals before mine came back. This second piece of meat was well done around the perimeter and nearly raw in the center. I give up! Im very disappointed. The service was horrible, as if the waiter just didnt care. Hardly ever came to the table. Another person at the table ordered the roast beef. Inedible, fat and nearly raw. His was replaced quickly with another more acceptable piece. We have been coming to the keg for many years. Last time I sent back a rib steak and the time before that also a filet mignon, also 10oz. Is it the cooks fault? I dont want to lay blame but something is not right. Also sub-par service from the waiter! We used to love coming to your restaurant but after last nights experience Im not sure if its the right thing to do. This is the third bad experience. Friendly efficient service, very accommodating, dimmed the lights for us and let us spread out our order a bit. Lobster bisque was delicious. Bread is worth getting, very soft, especially good with the house butter. Blue cheese filet was alright, I think I prefer the oscar. Cauliflower mash was better in Pointe Claire last year. Black and Blue Margarita, Bord de Mer, and Blackberry Daiquiri were all delicious cocktails. The balcony is a little too closed for my liking, the Pointe-Claire one has a better design with more uncovered area.

Very ordinary for a restaurant of this range. I take the trouble to book 3 weeks in advance, to mark an important event, for 2 people in the dining room. We still had to wait 30 minutes before being taken to our place....But the worst thing was that we were crowned in the lounge, telling us that these were the only seats we had!!!! For a meal in excess of $200 sitting on low tables next to each other, Ill try again next time!!!

The food was excellent. However, we had to ask our server to recommend a drink. He wasnt proposing it. I am not by nature demanding but at the price it costs you expect to have better service.

For a good steak

The shrimps tasted watery = lack of shrimp umami taste. The roast beef was dry & flavourless. Dessert pie was good. The restaurant should really work on the fan/AC, since I left with the clothes & hair full of oily smell. The price & service were okay, but food was mediocre.
