The Star & Garter is just a few moments away from the shopping heart of Leamington Spa, and only a short distance from the beautiful town of Warwick. Our fantastic pub is a relaxed environment where you can eat, drink and relax wherever you want. Our kitchen creates top quality fresh food all day from Brunch to Dinner, with locally sourced ingredients. We can also help you host your party in our Private Dining room with French windows leading onto a private terrace.
Lovely setting, lovely welcome, great service from friendly and attentive staff, dog friendly in the bar area and best Sunday roast! Every individual part of it was delicious! We will definitely recommend and definitely will be back soon 😋
My husband and I visited for a last minute roast without a booking at the busiest period of the day on a Sunday - we were warmly welcomed and seated at a cosy table, and waited on by the kindest, most enthusiastic staff. A delightful experience from start to finish, with scrumptious food. Looking forward to our next visit, thank you so much team for making our visit so lovely!
What a gem! Fabulous lively atmosphere in this bustling, warm, and well lit venue. Great welcome, super attentive landlord and staff with live music. For my first visit to any hostelry in the town, this was great. Excellent tapas and extensive collection of non alcoholic beers. Recommend all day long!
Visited on a Friday night in a group of 10. Fantastic welcome and quickly seated with drinks. The menu is great with loads of options so it was hard to choose. Onion bhaji scotch egg was popular and very good. Delicious food and a very good atmosphere but most of all the service and staff are brilliant. Always checking we had everything we needed and topping up drinks orders.
Just popped in as an afternoon meal and we could not of come back any more satisfied than we are!! Service was next to none a super friendly Gent dressed in a bright blue shirt could not of done more for us and what an upseller he is lol my partner originally ordered the rump cap at 22 pound but the chef had Wagu in and was going on the evening specials, he was offered to up grade and the wagu came in at 35 pound but OMG worth every penny melted in the mouth and cooked to perfection. I had the Chicken schnitzel with garlic butter and it was so tasty. 10/10 all round. Thank you for a great experience.
The Sunday Roast was delicious and very generous portions. When the staff check back on you, they offer you more yorkies and roast potatoes! The service was great! We were greeted immune by Eve, and she served us, got us drinks asap. Also, they're dog friendly. Highly recommend it for an amazing and chill Sunday.
We are big fans of the Peach Pubs group having previously eaten a few times at both The Town House and The One Elm, often on special occasions, as was this one. We did feel that The Star and Garter did not quite match up to their sister pubs in terms of the personal service. Although we had said it was a big birthday celebration, with our children gathering from across the country, there was no acknowledgement of that at all, even when cards and gifts were exchanged. Perhaps this was just because it was a busy Saturday, which also meant that food came a little slowly (even allowing for the fresh cooking). Having said that, the menu was interesting and varied, including options for the vegan guest, and the food chosen was very tasty and much enjoyed by all 6 of us. There was a real buzz about the place creating a good atmosphere and the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.
We had carrot and orange soup and Aubrey Allen lamb scotch egg with crispy kale for starters, plus Guinea Fowl for the main course. Although fairly pricey, the quality was so good that it was worth it. The service we received was absolutely outstanding too. Very highly recommended. Enjoyed it so much that we returned in January - the new menu included Chicken Schnitzel, Beef & Ale Pie, Pork Belly and Venison (from the Specials menu). All of the food was delicious and the service was - as last time - absolutely stellar :).
The food was average but very expensive
I booked the Star n Garter in leamington 2 weeks in advance online . Arrived at the said time . No table ready , waited 10 mins to be seated. They then proceeded to eject some people from a table and then dragged 3 tables and pushed them together to squeeze our group of 10 people in next to the main entrance/ exit. The tables were sticky. Ordered drinks and the waitress brought the wrong drinks plus 5 more drinks we didnt order to our table . I have no complaints on the starters. When we asked for mains , it took over an hour for the Christmas mains to arrive, which were Luke warm and far to small for a Christmas meal. Service was shoddy to say the least , cutlery was just dumped at the end of the table. To add insult to injury , they presented us with the wrong bill , trying to charge us for 22 people when infact there was only 10 people in our party. It then took 3 attempts to get the correct bill. This is an accurate account of the night.
Great food and friendly service. The beef and ale pie was absolutely delicious. They made us feel welcome so well definitely be coming back.
Very nice place, great atmosphere, good food. The pacan tart is delicious. The service was very very nice. I recommend
We had our works Christmas party in the private room upstairs, the food was great and the service was good too! Thank you for having us!
Absolutely excellent family lunch today (30 Nov). The service from arrival, throughout, and departure was 2nd to none. All food as expected and ordered. An example of how to get it just right. Thank you to all who served and fed us today
Popped here today after work , amazing service , and the food was beautiful . The owner made us feel welcome and comfortable, and nothing was too much trouble , would defo recommend and would come again . Great service, great food , friendly staff and environment, good prices , good range of food , good portion sizes , well layed out x
Went for a Sunday Roast and was unimpressed by the cleanliness (sticky, dirty table, and cobwebs) and service. We were really excited but probably wouldnt go back, it really wasnt worth the cost.
Absolutely amazing pie. Gravy top draw. Staff so helpful, service brilliant. You will not be able to top it locally - just go here 10/10
Lovely place to eat & drink. 2nd time we have stayed in Leamington and 2nd time we have eaten here. Shame its so far away. Parking: Looks ok walked from our hotel
Great food. Big pub and nice beer. Simple
No parking - all removed by the council
Love this place, seasonal menu, good beer, great staff Vegetarian options: Full veggie option on the main menu Dietary restrictions: Dietary requirements catered for, as long as the staff are aware Kid-friendliness: Welcome kids Wheelchair accessibility: Slight ramp getting into the pub, but wheelchair and pushchair friendly
Small works doo. Beer was lovely and food was spot on. Booked it Christmas doo there because we enjoyed it so much. Fish pie was lovely Parking: Local street parking
Food was no where near the standard we expected after reading up on most recent reviews prior to our visit, admittedly it was after 3pm when we rocked up and maybe the cuts of beef and pork that we we served up were the dregs especially the pork which my partner had and was very fatty. The cabbage was well undercooked along with the root vegetables which were soggy and not roasted. Were not ones to complain as a rule but when youre paying out what we were charged then you do tend to walk away very dissatisfied. Staff were lovely though but I think the chef needs to up his game when it comes to Sunday roasts.
Love the Star and all that it stands for....
Great host, delicious food
Ate here on a Thursday night with my wife and two friends. Starters, mains, plus £100 of wine plus extras drinks. Service compared to a few years ago was pretty lax. £50 bottles of wine opened and plonked on table; friendly service but felt like they had better things to do than make us feel special; food-wise, langoustines main looked great but everyone was really hungry still as it was a really small dish. Steak was well cooked and tasted great. Overall, the meal wasn t cheap and felt like it had moved to pub service with only ok food. Shame really.
Great atmosphere and good beers
Vegetarian options: Always have vegetarian Sunday dinner Dietary restrictions: Always ask of if any allergies/dietary requirements Food : 5/5 |
Spanish night for my birthday was brilliant. Food was great. Staff were fantastic. The live music for a great atmosphere. Would recommend and return!
Absolute Gem in Leam We had a large table booking on a Spanish themed night and both the venue and the food didn t disappoint! The staff felt like one big family , dancing, smiling and enjoying the Spanish vibes whilst serving, exceptional food. The drinks were flowing and the room was filled with the vibe of the live band.. Mambo Jambo .. The well managed, welcoming venue, the staff at the Star and Garter, the band and good friends made a memorable night Defo recommend
Exceptional service and high quality food with a good ale selection too
Had Sunday lunch for a large family gathering and we were looked after very well indeed. Food was plentiful and the traditional Sunday roasts a popular choice were very good. Service was attentive and coped very well the numbers and variety of orders. Separate room with balcony worked really well.
I had a drama this morning, being temporarily separated from my dog. Erin joined the dots and found a way to reunite us while another team member looked after me with a complementary cup of tea. So kind and richly appreciated.
Whilst visiting Leamington we were searching for a dog friendly pub/restaurant. The Star & Garter was recommended. WOW! What a find! The food was superb..Lemon Sole and Onglet steak were both delicious. Well cooked & beautifully presented we couldn t fault it. Cheese board was first rate. Service & attention to detail was excellent. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back!
Food was on the dear side and small portions, but good quality. Leamington is a great night out.
Lovely place
Sunday lunch only warm and although plenty not that tasty. Might have give it another try but as the staff weren t very accommodating won t bother!
Great atmosphere, good food & brilliant service. Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options. Food : 4/5 |
Bar Manager was charming and exceptionally helpful.
The perfect family lunch from top to bottom. Thank you S&G Food : 5/5
Slightly overpriced on everything, but good service and friendly staff
Absolutely beautiful food well worth a visit top class food thanks
The food is average, but service is very good. I don t like dogs around when I m eating. So I won t be returning.
£4.30 for draught Coke!! In this economy! Lovely atmosphere though
Great meal, lovely pub
Not as good as usual meat tough
Excellent menu , wonderful staff, great experience
A great venue to meet with friends and family. Decent food and a wide range of appropriate drinks.
Had a really lovely meal and amazing service from Katie, thank you!
Very good su day roast
I was impressed by the service team. They all looked not only professional and caring, but contagiously happy and glad.
Visited for Sunday lunch for fathers day and I couldnt fault any of it. The hugely attentive service on arrival, the quality of the food and the reasonable price and super dig friendly. Loved it!!
Great pub
Lovely pub with lovely staff (who were very knowledgeable regarding the menu choices). Had steak and one of the specials (fish pie). Both delicious and leaving no room for dessert! Will definitely be returning!
Always good food and service!
Excellent roast.
The food is good quality slightly high priced .the staff are excellent
Amazing food and very lovely service. Thank you for this fantastic experience. We ll be returning! Food
Great staff, very friendly and welcoming. Food is of excellent quality and the regulars are welcoming and the place has a very friendly atmosphere. The Sunday lunch is hard to beat. Food
We were delighted to see that Tony was helping run this long established venue in Leamington. His smile and sparkle made the service 110%. Good food, great service nice beer. What more could you want for a pub meal.
Food was amazing, best service we have had in a restaurant in ages, was served by big bloke with a beard. Reasonable prices and would definitely recommend
Came for Mother s Day Sunday lunch. Staff were very welcoming and the food was really good. Staff also checked to see if we needed anything during our meal and were very helpful. Will definitely be coming back
Fab local pub. Great staff, lovely atmosphere and cocktails! Kid-friendliness: Kids of all ages accommodated and dogs too! Food : 5/5 |
Quiet for a Saturday night. Good selection of beers.
Visited in December for work xmas do. Our booked table was delayed by around 30 mins (not their fault, the party before ran well over time), but we were well compensated with some free booze. Food and service was fabulous and great value for money. The Team did a great job of looking after 30+ of use whilst the main pub downstairs was HEAVING BRAVO Star and Garter team. You did not disappoint
A pub with traditional food but in a nicer setting
Bar person overcharged us .
Fantastic service, location and facilities for the private dinning room - Staff were fantastic!
My daughter had baby shower so had the room upstairs and buffet definitely recommend it thanks
Found this place whilst visiting Leamington spa. Lovely little pub. Lovely atmosphere and staff extremely friendly. Great place to have a quiet drink.
very nice experience. top service. gastro food did not disappoint. would come back any time. thank you.
Staff is amazing (I thought service will be included :). Food is great. Very pleasant experience. Would recommend and come back. All the best to the team.
I went there on Christmas Eve. Good experience.
This place is a fraud. A table today with at least 5 and at times 8 folk were largely ignored unless we hollered for attention or went to the bar to try to get noticed. Food was good but not 20 quid good. The food though is a sideshow to a venue that has zero interaction with its customers. Really disappointing.
Excellent pub Sunday lunches are exceptional value and v popular You need to book a table well in advance for that
Food was fantastic but a little expensive. But why not spoil your self every now and then. Great service from a great team... well done all
Always fabulous!
Excellent SundaybLunch, great food, selection of drinks and very attentive staff. Extra Yorkshire and roast potatoes offerd too
Nice pub with a great atmosphere
Good all round, although a little expensive.
A bit noisy for my taste the food and service good but could do with more sauce as the meal was dry.
Really tasty food and nice staff, the pork and camembert were delicious.
Never ever again
£2.70 for a pint of lime and soda!!! I know inflation is bad but really? Absolute joke
Lovely place to eat. Prices are reasonable, quality over qty here and that just fine by me. Attentive service by super nice staff. Great atmosphere and an all round nice dining experience.
Great Spanish beer and fab atmosphere
Great pub with good service and plenty of tables. Good selection of beers, but prices are on the higher end even for Leamington.
Nice atmosphere for a pint or glass of wine. Good choice of beer and cider. Didnt eat on our last visit but have done so before and enjoyed it.
We went for a Sunday lunch often eat out so have had lots of comparisons, the food was generally very good we had the scotch egg and makeral from the specials board as starters so not sure if they are always available my scotch egg was delicious would highly recommend really tasty a nice little kick of spice and the lovely runny egg was just as it should be ,we both had the trio if meats for main course also from the specials board the meat was well cooked we like our beef rare so it was slightly pink but very nice and tender there was also a slice of pork and gammon . The yorkshire puddings were very nice I think they were cooked in duck fat as were the roast potatoes. The one negative point I would like to make and I know they are not the only ones that do it but charging and extra 5.50 for a potion of cauliflower cheese is ridiculous if you wanted stuffing I think Im right in saying it was 3.50 extra those things should come as part of the roast and not as an extra its just money grabbing in my opinion . We also had a cheese board to share 13 pounds for it Said 5 different cheeses with some biscuits very nice the cheese was from Aubrey Allens but the amount you got was so small there were I think Im right in saying there were 8 biscuits 5 slithered of apple in my opinion grapes would be better as the edge of the apple was going brown and portion of chutney I cant fault the quality of the food but there are things that could be improved as Ive already mentioned. Parking: There is only street parking nearby if you wanted to make a night of it youd have to park in a carpark in town and walk up as you get maximum 2 hours free parking
First visit. Friend Gastro pub. Had the Sunday roast. Very good quality and good size portions. Good beer selection
Extra pricey but not extra flavor. Sometimes you feel like paying that little bit extra for a better product. This isn t the case, you can find similar quality in the area for less. The staff while polite they weren t very familiar with the food. Don t get me wrong, this place isn t bad, but you can find better in the vicinity.
Good atmosphere and very helpful and friendly staff and dog freindly win win
Fantastic Sunday roast, nice buzzing atmosphere and very friendly serving staff. Extra potatoes and Yorkshires if wanted. Really great and will return.
Good quality food, well prepared and served in the restaurant area of a pub with a lively vibrant atmosphere. Friendly, attentive and prompt waitress service, in our case from Kate.
Great food. Its a great place to enjoy good company.
A truly very pleasant experience, we had booked the table for Sunday precisely to have the opportunity to eat the typical Sunday roast and we were pleasantly surprised by the goodness and quality, everything was excellent. Very friendly and polite staff, pleasant and comfortable environment. Kid-friendliness: They provide meals for the children
Out for a pre-Mothers Day meal this evening for a treat. Sadly, ignored for the most part. Wasnt offered the specials board, had to ask for cutlery for our meal, plus condiments, drinks etc. No one asked if the meal was okay at any point. We were offered the deserts menu, but after 10 minutes of waiting to receive the desserts menu, decided get the bill and go. No apology and when we left no acknowledgement from the person running the restaurant until we went to speak to her to give our thoughts on a £40 per head meal for a main, plus olives and ciabatta. Sadly, will go back to the better places in Leamington whose staff take an interest in their customers. Even our teenagers commented on the lack of service, which if they take note says a lot!
Good food and beer. Friendly staff. Cracking ribs... As in good tasty ribs
Staff need to relax a little. They rush about and its not that busy. Bar staff give customers a little space when they arrive to look at drinks, smile and be warm. I find them a little cold and functional. Drinks way too pricey.
Lovely cosy place for a drink and lovely people
Nice pub, good atmosphere.
Plenty of seating outside with partitioning around from pavement. Outside service no problem !! with people round regularly checking on you . Also outside heaters. Not to busy. Went back last night (April 2023) not been in for ages . Still very popular a lot of people taking their dogs in with them making a warm welcoming environment for groups to meet up
Good
Nice but w3 got kicked out of our chairs and no one actually sat in them. Bit pointless
We had a blast at the Star & Garter - Lewis looked after us so well all evening, lovely guy, and made our American friend very jealous of how good British pubs can be! Food was great, and strong selection of wines and beers. Can t ask for more :)
Great staff and a very good Sunday roast. Good menu. Efficient and very friendly service. Highly recommended!
A table of 5 (colleagues) went on a Wednesday evening. Food was amazing. We had belly pork, chicken schnitzel and burger. Food amazing although pricey. Service was spot on. A large glass of wine £12.50 which I think is way too expensive!
Lots of tasty food on the menu. Had the cheese soufflé to start. Light and delicious. Service was really good, and friendly too. All round, a genuinely nice experience
Sunday roast, brilliant Aubrey Allen beef, well cooked. Roast spuds overcooked, Yorkshire puddings limp, some vegetables overcooked some not cooked, gravy lumpy.
The drinks are expensive. Its £4 for a pint of diet cola , lemonade
This is an absolutely beautiful place, the service is second to none. 4 of us ate and to say there wasnt a crumb left is being silly but so true. You gotta try the cauliflower chips, they are to due for From the moment you walk in this place, you are greeted like a local whose place has his/her name on it all the time. The ales kept perfectly and poured by a master. The girl taking the orders, never used a pad, phenomenal service. I will definitely be calling back here
Dog friendly, superb Sunday lunch. As well as the Sunday Roasts, we had the anchovies with gremolata as a starter which was delicious and one of the small desserts: a smidgen of Finn, a wonderful British cheese with a tea.
Food was outstanding, a bit pricey but definitely quality, staff were exceptional especially Liam, will go again
Absolutely fantastic on all fronts, food was sensational, service was top notch and atmosphere was brilliant. Couldn t recommend this place highly enough.
Good music selection in a smart, clean, non-trad pub. Good service and atmosphere, tables out front very welcome. Didnt eat but hope to on next visit.
We were late admittedly but no excuse to serve burnt food. We were told a lot on the menu list was not available but we didnt get much choice. A normal roast costs £19 so wasnt cheap either
Sian gm, Sam head chef Jack works from Boutinot. We re brilliant serving us on the wine and cheese night. Amazing experience and recommend to family and friends. Food
Very enjoyable meal for two on a quiet night
Really relaxing atmosphere with some of the finest foods tasted
We eat here last Saturday. We saw the great reviews and we were expecting great food and we was disappointed and had ok food but not great! I had the smoked haddock scotch egg which simple lacked flavour, then a dressed crab with skinny chips. The dressed crab tasted amazing but the chips were under cooked. When we spoke to the lovely waitress she explained they had just changed supplier.. My husband had a beautiful steak. He asked for medium rare but it came out rare to blue. We didn t send it back as he likes it cooked both ways. My son had the beef & ale pie. It was full of meat but the pastry was over cooked and burnt.
A great dog friendly pub with great local beer and dog biscuits. Staff were lovely
Lovely friendly place, great service. Some dishes were perfect but the vegetable Wellingtons were very overcooked, the Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes were also overcooked. Shame had always heard great things about the Sunday lunches.
Foodnlisblovely but , side salad size was very small i was contemplating taking it back
Staff are wonderful, food is sublime and the setting is top notch - highly recommend!
Good menu, well prepared food, but can get a bit noisy.
Good food but very quiet in the afternoon. Would go again though.
Great food, drink and service!! Luas and Ellie are great craic and brilliant workers! Would highly recommend
Excellent new Autumn menu complemented by friendly efficient service. It was quiet as it was a Monday but will definitely go again
Very pleasant evening with ex-work colleagues. Great food and service. Food
Excellent real Ale its buzzing due to young people. Well worth a visit even if your the oldest person in town lol
Perfect Sunday roast here today! The service was impeccable. Great meat and veggie option - food was delicious! Love that you get a jug of gravy and extra yorkies/spuds. The wine and the apple crumble were also exceptional.
Lovely pub for a sunday roast. My family really enjoyed the Lamb pavé. The stuffing was delicious. Extra point for the possibility to have more Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes! Very nice touch. I was a bit disappointed with the shallots tatin , the pastry could have been more cooked/crispy. The truffle and macaroni cheese was delicious but such a small portion. Overall, a good meal. I will be back to try more on the menu
This is one of my locals. I often meet people there for lunch and Ive even eaten there by myself when I Just Cant Be Bothered to cook. Staff always welcoming. Food good. Lovely place.
A lovely pub that has an excellent if not slightly expensive menu. Good selection of drinks.
Tasty different cusine food, very friendly stuff. There are only one minor point - choice of beer very poor for such restaurant.
Clean and friendly pub, happy staff, good drinks selection, plenty of seats.
Brilliant love this pub recommend xx
Has nice and large private rooms, great atmosphere
After a big gap I went here again last Friday for dinner with friends. The pub was really busy but the dining room was nice and quiet (at 5pm) and started to fill up later. Before I get to the food, the staff were super friendly, helpful and patient while we were there, and didnt forget about us even when they started getting busy. I had the bavette steak, cooked perfectly and super tasty with the French fries and butter. Only improvement could have been a bigger cut as the four slices didnt last long
Lovely place to eat and drink mid week
We attended this Sunday to celebrate Thanksgiving, which we would ordinarily do at our mum s house in London. However this year we couldn t owing to the terminal cancer diagnosis of my sister. I approached the Star and Garter at my sister s behest ( they serve the best roasts) with a very large booking that we very possibly would have to cancel last minute and they took this in their stride, buying our puddings for us and a bottle of bubbly to enjoy on them. At an awful time, their kindness, flexibility and generosity was so keenly felt by our family and the food and service and staff were just incredibl. I would like too to mention Elle and Sian (hope I ve spelled the names correctly), who stood out and welcomed this complicated booking with so much warmth and kindness, that will never be forgotten. Thank you for making a wonderful afternoon full of wonderful food and joy.
The staff was very nice and service was fast. I had the vegetarian special of harrisa glazed pumkin, Moroccan spiced chickpeas and winter greens.
Food was excellent, could of done with a bit more steak and chips but the meal was amazing.
Enjoyed a pint before starting a pub crawl with a group.
Lovely Sunday lunch been here a few times and the staff are all so lovely and friendly which makes for excellent service!!
Great pub, one of my favourites in leamington! Food, drink and team all top tier
Had a lovely meal here, service was great and the staff were lovely.was a very enjoyable evening with a relaxing atmosphere.
We had our staff Christmas party at the Star & Garter and everyone commented on how amazing the food and staff were! The atmosphere was fantastic and really got everyone in the festive spirit! Special thanks to Sian who made sure we always had a full glass!
Excellent food coupled with excellent service. Id like to highlight our server Ellie whom was very polite and cheerful. The rum baba and banana collada definitely being my favourite. Would 100% recommend. Food : 5/5
Service was very good, staff were polite and fast! The food was very nice and not too badly priced! Good selection of drinks on tap and they pour a decent Guinness.
Such a friendly welcome and excellent food and selection of drinks. Really like that there is a vegetarian special every day and that the food is served piping hot and very fresh. Nice to sit outside when the sun is shining but loads of room inside too.
Sunday dinner was very delicious. A cozy, friendly place, the service is fast and precise.
Amazing food and top quality service. All priases to Luis and the team, 12/10 would recommend to anyone and will definitely be visiting again.
Food was good, service friendly the plates could of been a bit warmer
Delicious food in a nice setting. Staff were helpful and efficient. A lovely evening.
We were in Leamington Spa as a group of 8 for a trade fair. We went to this pub three evenings in a row and loved it. The food is varied (large daily menu) and very tasty. All 8 dishes were at the table at the same time and quickly. The staff is very attentive and friendly.
A group of 8 of used this pub. Was picked for our first night(Friday evening). Was pleasedly in prest with the food and the service. The staff could not have been more helpful. As six of the group were from Germany. On enquiring about booking for the following night. They could not be more help full as we could not be shaw what time we could get there. Again for our last night in Lemington could not be more helpful. The grating we got every night and there helpfulness was over the top. When in the area again will definitely head for here.
Nice welcome, excellent knowledgeable and quick service. Great selection. Love how they bring the specials board to your table. Lovely food. Overall a really nice friendly place, with great food, drinks and service.
Love it
Only here for a bit but was decent
A rather clique environment, food and drinks are expensive compared to other local establishments. Usually very busy at weekend lunchtimes, 4 ales available, an outside seating area at the front of the building forces passing pedestrians into the layby, only protected by red chapter 8 barriers from passing traffic.
First time in Leamongton spa - If all the pubs are like this then a place definitely on my return list - Really good service - Snacks excellent - very enjoyable environment to spend afternoon catching up with friends
Service was excellent and prompt, all the staff were friendly and polite
Excellent food. Very busy for Sunday lunch so it was difficult to have a conversation. Vegetarian options: There were some available Parking: Some on-street parking nearby. Wheelchair accessibility: Possible, but it would have been difficult to move around at busy times.
Not been in a few years. Still absolutely superb. Steak was one of the best Ive had in the UK the last few years!
Lovely friends birthday lunch, food was amazing especially the Yorkshire puds, amazing crumble (thank you chef) and a couple of Cotswold gnts, perfect!
Lovely meal and staff
Really pleasant Sunday Lunch for a 21st birthday. Great service. Friendly and helpful. One of best Sunday Lunches (we all had roast from specials board) Ive had out. Really good food. Thanks Food : 5/5 |
Everything was very good, service was excellent, atmosphere excellent, food was great maybe could have been larger portions for the cost that was my only fault
We had a wonderful Sunday roast and it was really toddler friendly too!
Went for lunch, my son enjoyed his. I had Fish Cakes unfortunately they were rather salty for me.
Great pub... Lovely Atmosphere..
We celebrated my husbands 50th birthday party at the Star and Garter and couldnt have been happier. They set up a long table for us in the back of the restaurant to fit our group of 20. There was plenty of space, the food was great and everyone had a fabulous time. Special shout out to the fantastic team who looked after us so well. They were professional, courteous and attentive throughout the whole evening. Id definitely recommend this place for special occasions.
Great food with a wide selection and ever changing specials! Attentive staff and lovely atmosphere
Great place to eat and drink, staff are excellent friendly and welcoming. Sunday lunch is wonderful.
Lovely place , great atmosphere, great service, well looked after there was 14 of us , food delivered to us at the same time nice n hot nice full tummys 100%, all round would be going back
Great choice of beer on tap. Friendly staff a d everyone enjoyed their meal
We held our Christmas party here for 65 people. Hollie dealt with lots of changes in the run up and her team were fantastic, created a wonderful atmosphere on the day.
Went for works Christmas do! Food a bit thrown on the plate and rustic...especially main...just a big chunk of pork on mash with gravy poured over...lacking finesse... but wouldnt judge them on such a massively busy evening...we were upstairs...and full downstairs too. No idea how the kitchen kept up with so many covers at once!! Stairs up to room upstairs shabby...carpet in need of cleaning...would be a nice venue in summer on balcony upstairs. Will return with voucher on a less busy evening to judge properly.
Nice food, very nice and polite staff
They seem incapable of providing enough seating for a large group. Despite one person dropping out, there still wasnt enough space and I had to eat dinner off my lap. Food was bang average and not worth the price. P
Good food, great beer.
Great work Christmas dinner, nice out.
