41-43 Regent St, Leamington Spa CV32 5EE, United Kingdom
Relaxed, modern restaurant with red-and-white decor and comfy sofas offering pan-Asian cuisine.
A bit hit and miss. sometimes really enjoy, other times find the food not that fresh and also a bit stingy. Ordered a chicken curry tonight and it came with four small pieces of chicken for £17.95, which was pretty disappointing.
After visiting the one in Birmingham, we were hoping that the service was on par. The Sabai in Leamington delivered, we finished watching a comedy show at the royal spa centre and wanted to grab a bit right after. The location of the restaurant is convenient, there is ample parking nearby which is approximately a 5-10 minute walk especially later in the evening. Toilets taken care of were immaculate. Upon entering we had a warm welcome and were seated immediately as the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. We ordered a Thai green and a musaman curry with some egg fried rice. Both the main dishes had a great flavour and I would definitely recommend going again.
Beautiful Restaurant, plants everywhere, delicious selection of food, great atmosphere, and very fun staff. Can’t wait to visit again!
Always a firm favourite with our family! My kids love the Thai traditional chicken on a stick (satay) with rice, sculpted vegetables and sweet sauce. And especially the trip afterwards to choose their ice cream deserts! My wife and I generally have, sea bass, som tum when available fresh, and something like pad kra pao extra spicy for me (pet pet). I don't speak Thai so I'm writing it as it sounds to me. If it's in season I'd take the Mango sticky rice for pudding. Or the green pandan leaf pancake with coconut sorbet if not. As far as price goes it's normal price for a Thai restaurant in the UK - mains average around £14.00 but some are more. The overall cost obviously depends on what you drink mainly. The wine list - if you want to order by the bottle - isn't overpriced, for example we had a bottle (or two) of Chablis tonight, £39 a bottle for decent Chablis is only a 2x markup which is less than the average mark-up I think.
The restaurant looks good and the food was delicious.
Such a gorgeous place! Very traditional and elegant ambience, with the most warm service all the way through. Such lovely people! The food was truly delicious. The best Thai I've had in a long time! We had the Moneybag and Prawn Tempura for starters. Then for main, we had the Thai Green Curry, Beef curry and the Jungle Curry. Each of the dishes were genuinely amazing. The Jungle Curry was beautifully spicy, just the perfect amount I can handle (don't go for it if you cannot handle spice, I enjoyed it but it was very spicy for my husband and friend). Definitely coming back again!
First time dining there and must say the food was excellent. We decided on a set meal for a change and there was plenty. Was offered to take the rest home. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. The surroundings were beautiful and very spacious. Downstairs was lovely. Beautifully clean toilets. Drinks were on the expensive side. Would definitely go again.
An excellent find in central Leamington Spa, this friendly restaurant with a welcoming nature has a lovely evening ambiance. It serves food from across Asia - and delicious food at that. Fully Covid29 secure, the restaurant ensures social distancing adequately. The menu has a wide selection of tasty foods. It is quickly served and the staff are attentive to your need. A place well worthy of a second visit next time we are here.
Brilliant food and brilliant service. Would highly recommend it. Also liked the water sounds.
Thank you, Uncle, the owner of the shop, for welcoming me and taking good care of me. The service staff is very good. Personally, Im Thai and just visited here for a few days and stopped by for dinner. Uncle is very friendly with me and my friends. As for the food, everything was delicious, me and my friends ate and were very satisfied. Uncle takes care of us very much. and make the taste for Thai people I recommend you try it.
Not authentic thai food, not delicious at all, curry with yardlong beans, bell peppers, etc., very confused.
Lovely food highly recommend this service is amazing too the staff were great had a family meal and nothing was too much trouble.
One of my favourite restaurants in Leamington Spa. Been numerous times over the past few years, never disappoints. Very good standards.
Very disappointed, ordered a pad thai and penang curry, I had to ask them to change the penang because the sauce was a very cheap jarred curry sauce that they tried to disguise as penang with added spices etc. As soon as I saw it I knew it wasnt a penang, I judge every thai by their penang first because I know it soo well! They swapped it for something I didnt actually ask for, probably because it was also used with cheap ingredients. The pad thai was OK but not the best, Ive had better for 10p in an alley way in Bangkok which the owners should be ashamed of. They put on a front of caring but you can tell they just think were all stupid (some are unfortunately) English people and take advantage. Asked how I enjoyed the meal while paying and I told them it was poor and and cheap ingredients, the old fella looked down with embarrassment and said everything soo expensive these days, I completely understand that but you charged me £35 for two cheap dishes and a pint (which I think wasnt even cobra, probs a cheap beer too), theyve lost a customer and probably more, if they stayed true to their origins and served actual decent thai food for a good price the place might actually be full more often and theyd be a successful business. I say this because I want them to be better and I hope they listen.
Absolutely lovely place And lovely staff
I can only assume their chef has changed since our last visit as food is now very poor and tasteless, even the Thai green curry. No Thai basil, no eggplants but instead green beans and cucumber !! Thai starters were also bland and tasteless. Very disappointing and probably a reason why the restaurant was generally empty at 7.30 on a Friday night and a 10% service charge for what exactly? Will not be going back
The food was ok but nothing special . Expensive for what you got
Good food, cozy place
The food is nice, and the service is also good will definitely go back again!!!
Well! What can I say, we arrived at the restaurant and were greeted by lovely attentive staff happy to serve us. We were then shown to our table, drink s ordered and served, starters brought, delicious! Then main course also delicious! Served once again by lovely staff. Then we couldn t believe our eyes!! A couple changing a nappy in the seating area next to our table! Unbelievable what is wrong with using the toilet like normal people. A lovely night spoilt by people without a thought for any one else. Mind you nothing surprises me these days, unbelievable. I really feel sorry for the owners of businesses that have to put up with an attitude of I couldn t care about anyone else.
Everything we had was fresh hot and flavourful. Really enjoyed it.
Sabai Sabai is one of those restaurants, which never disappoints. I ve been there many times for different occasions, different groups of guests and I always enjoyed the experience. Food is always tasty and well presented, the staff is helpful and attentive, the atmosphere is great and overall it s simply a lovely restaurant. Highly recommended!
As always a great thai restaurant - I couldnt mark them down for anything.
Lovely vegetarian options with friendly staff. A regular choice to eat out and celebrate for my family.
Lovely and authentic Thai restaurant.
Fantastic food , good service plenty of space for group and function
We were a large group with a young person as well. The staff were very helpful, on hand in a subtle way. Very clean and well presented. Food was really good and well presented. Food : 5/5 |
Had the lunchtime menu - the food is great, and the staff are very pleasant. .
Love this place, the food is just so tasty, and staff always friendly. Pictured is red veggie curry, coconut rice, chefs special sauce with chicken.
BEST Thai curry I have ever had!! We tried to get a table for Saturday night but they were fully booked (I now know why) We booked a table for Sunday evening and were not disappointed! I had the chicken satay to start, every mouthful was divine!! I opted for the yellow curry with tofu for my main and this was honestly the best Thai curry I have ever eaten! The portion sizes were spot on! We couldnt leave without having a pudding so shared the coconut pana cotta (highly recomend) We will definitely be back next time we visit the area!
I love the seafood salad spicy and testy
Was taken out for my birthday meal by my friend. The staff were very nice! Food was delicious! I will be definitely back.
This is a very nice local restaurant in Leamington Spa, the food is excellent and never disappoints. There are many nice dishes but the wine duck is definitely one of their specialties. Normally it is very busy, and although bookings are not necessary, be aware that service could be slow but always very friendly. Vegetarian options: This place has a good variety of vegan and vegetarian options.
Food very average tried to charge for an extra main course. Giggling squid is better
Been coming here for years, and it has really tasty food with excellent service. The lunch menu is really good value for money.
Wonderful food. Nice decor. Was very busy when we went (Valentines) and as a result waiting for the bill took a while. But everything else was perfect.
I did have a good time here. The manager was friendly and had a good sense of humor. We love the restaurant environment. The food was fantastic. Love to come back again. Vegetarian options: Many selections for vegetarian
The food was so delicious! And the service couldnt have gone better. Everyone gave us a warm welcome and they were very efficient when serving us. Would definitely recommend and go again!
Absolutely fabulous food, lots of it! Excellent value. Absolutely love this place
Delicious meal. Staff very friendly and helpful. Told them my wife is gluten intolerant and they explained all meals that she could have. Lovely atmosphere. Definitely going back. Fab meal.
Went there for a 60th birthday party, the food was amazing and the staff were superb, very professional.
Lovely food and attentive service.
Feeling disappointed that all dishes were in Chinese cuisine. I would say nice foods in the end, however dishes were not Thai Authentic. Just not what were expected. Service was good. Prices were more expensive than what we thought. If youre looking for Thai foods, this is not recommended one
Really unimpressed. Food wasnt great, service was bad - had to wait 30 mins for the bill and ended up going to the front desk to pay where the server made us uncomfortable and tried to coerce an optional service charge on the 2 of us. We had the egg fried rice (underwhelming), the Thai herbs chicken stir fry (bland) and the Sweet and sour chicken stir fry (average).
1) Interior & Ambience: absolutely beautiful - green, cozy, calm! 2) Food: delicious, scrumptious! Would highly recommend for vegetarians too. Would definitely visit again. Food : 5/5 |
Beautiful restaurant with excellent customer service. The restaurant is immaculately clean and the staff are very attentive. They cater so well for me and my children. The food was lovely and the drinks were delicious. Ingredients were fresh and portions were a good size. They did not pressure to purchase extras and were in no rush for us to leave. The music was really nice and a very relaxed but special atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Awesome Thai food and a fine dining experience. Must visit if youre in Leamington Spa
Good but slightly underseasoned food and generous portions. I discovered that our waitress was working her 3rd day ! Charmingly friendly as she is, she clearly needs more training ! Reasonably good value. It was disappointingly impossible for the proprietor to get me a taxi to get back to the train station ! Parking: This is a Chelsea tractor socio-economic town so parking is quite expensive and limited ! Kid-friendliness: Entirely satisfactory. Wheelchair accessibility: Toilets in basement and no sign of a lift !
My partner and I have been dining here for years; by far the best dining out experience in the West Midlands. Relaxing atmosphere, sublime food, and all provided by the best staff bar none. I couldnt sing this restaurants praises any further if I tried -- so what are you waiting for? Get your kecks on and get down here!
As good as it gets really - authentic staff giving very good service. Never had to wait too long for dishes or drinks. Not very busy for a Friday night so could be different if it was. Plenty of room with nice big tables. Overcharged on bill by £11 so that was a let down (hence 4 star). Food wise - inoffensive cuisine that lacked punch or texture, but largely palatable - we left some of the beef which frankly was a bit rubbery (hence 4 star). Atmosphere very nice actually. If there was piped music then I didnt notice it which is what you want.
Took my family who was visiting me for some food. The food here is actually really good. As always. My family loved the experience. The only thing was as it was a Friday they didn t have the table I booked ready but got it resolved in 5min. And when we order a whiskey, the 1st drink came as Khalua but was quickly corrected. This place is very hospitable and always know how to serve you good quality food. Highly recommend the jasmine / coconut rice and Singapore noodles. And their Thai beef curry.
Awesome place. Great take away a too. Food
Decent food and prices. I liked
Great food as always, great atmosphere and staff where awesome. Definitely n One of my favourite locations Food
Food is tasty and well-priced, with generous portions. However, be careful with the drinks, as a pint is about £8, and can quickly inflate the bill.
This is the best Thai food in town, in my opinion. The staff is great too. My first preference by a long shot for getting comfort food in Leamington! Great gluten free options.
Beautiful restaurant with great food and fantastic service from our waitress and waiters! Dealt with a party of 11 like it was nothing! Definitely recommend
Great meal
Nice ambiance and such tasty Thai food. Definitely going again.
Very nice dishes. I can recommend squid in tempura and duck
Been going to Sabai Sabai in Leamington for years. The food and service are always perfect and great value at lunchtime when I usually go.
Beautiful thank you
Lovely food and great service thank you! Kid-friendliness: High chair and friendly staff Food : 5/5 |
Hmm. Food was really good. Place was full, which is good. But the decor is really tired. Desperately needs renovation to bring overall experience in line with fantastic food. Marked service down, as we had to ask for the bill 5 times, but apart from that was good.
Great food and atmosphere
Really nice. The owner is so lovely.
Lovely food and service. Not the cheapest, but no complaints
Great Thai food, definitely worth a visit
Nice food and good prices
The food was great and met the expectations. However restaurant charged for service charge of 10% without even informing us and we were only 4 people.
Great food, great portion and friendly staff. We had the lunch deal today.
Fantastic
Quite authentic thai food with decent pricing. Really like the green thai curry :)
Delicious food great service
First time weve been to this restaurant, starter was nice but not a lot, main course was mainly vegetables an not much meat, the egg fried rice contained frozen vegetables you can buy from local shops, the beef was hard a chewy an bland flavoured, very expensive with a 10% surcharge add,
Absolutely loved eating here, me and the family ate here last night, the service was brilliant and the food was just just fantastic, I had the king prawn in garlic sauce, the flavours were just out of this world, 10/10 would recommend
I cant fault them Ive been coming here for 9 years now and the food is consistently delicious. Very gorgeous restaurant decor and the staff care about you! They also listen to you: I wanted spicy stir fry and I got a spicy stir fry as requested.
Delicious food and definitely worth the money. Also service was great
Great tasting food Excellent and fast service. Parking: Free for 2 hours I believe
Excellent service
Fantastic meal for my nephews birthday, there were 7 of us. Staff were very attentive and helpful, there was one mistake in the meals but was rectified very quickly. Food quality was amazing. Vegetarian options: We had 2 vegans in the party and they quite happily ate Wheelchair accessibility: Big wide door
Delicious Thai food as always and friendly staff. We love coming here.
We had a group lunch for 29 of us last Thursday at Sabai Sabai. We had the basement room which accommodated us all comfortably, cooly on a very hot day. The staff were excellent, the service very good and the food also excellent. Although the drinks were a little pricey the choices on the fixed lunch menu were excellent value. A very enjoyable experience and we would certainly go back again.
Lovely place, excellent food and good prices, I will definitely be going back
Fantastic!!! I had delicious sweet an sour prawns. Yum, yum!!!
Brilliant Service and Lovely Food Parking: Park just outside is easy Wheelchair accessibility: no steps . flat surfaces
Good food, had one main: dry curry king prawns (£14.65) with steamed rice (£2.95). I would say pricey, especially because mains dont come with rice which is needed given medium sized portions.
A lovely Thai restaurant. Homely feel even when busy and service was nicely paced. Very good Thai food .
Beautiful atmosphere.. as though in Thailand itself. Lovely staff friendly quick service. Give good recommendations. Check dietary requirements. Checking on you always if you need top on anything. If your comfortable Most important of the food is exceptional. I will definitely will be going again and will be one of my regular restaurant . Dietary restrictions: Staff always check allergy on anything. Confirming the ingredients in all food Parking: Lots of parking available
Excellent service, tasty food. Very accommodating for us with a baby considering it was a busy Saturday night. Highly recommend Food
Absolutely perfect food! So delicious and fresh! A great selection of vegetarian dishes and lovely customer service too. Highly recommend. Best Thai in Leamington by a long mile!
Very friendly and caring. Clean and tasty and extremely child friendly. They make you feel very important as a customer
Great food, all arrived hot with plenty of selection. Its my first visit but will be back to try more of the menu.
Delicious food, generous portions and very friendly staff.
Food is prepared to a high standard at very reasonably prices. Great service properly distanced tables, clean toilets. Really looking forward to trying more of the menu
Lovely food as ever. First meal out for months and months with lockdowns etc. Ordered nothing out of the ordinary and from the lunch specials menu...chicken satay and chicken green curry. Both delicious:)
Very good food, lovely service. Came here for my birthday and it was a great decision
Great service and very tasty food. We had a variety of food chicken, fish and veg dishes all very good.
Lovely lunch there today. Good food & service.
Lovely lunch..set menu. Pleasant staff. Enjoyed our meal. Reasonable prices
Been here a few times and Sabai Sabai never disappoints. Decor and presentation is ok but the flavours of all the quite varied dishes really stand out - so delicious. The staff are fun and friendly too. They have been doing takeaway since lock down and I would recommend that also. The curries are (in my opinion) particularly good.
The food was gorgeous but I felt I was in Groundhog Day. They played ONE song over and over and over again (and it was a Christmas song) and although we asked him to change it, he didnt
Lovely restaurant, great food, and friendly staff.
Absolutely amazing food, excellent attentive service.
Excellent everything
Not bad Thai food, reasonable prices for the lunch menu, and the environment is nice.
This is quite an expensive meal...but its a good quality place... I wouldnt come every week but once in a while is ok...they allow you to have the table as long as you like...we arrived quite early and stayed until the end of suvice ..
Lovely food and great service
Delicious Thai food, beautiful restaurant, clean, bright and spacious, friendly and efficient service.
Amazing restaurant and very friendly service. Loved the food and atmosphere.Highly recommended!!!
Beautifully cooked and served Thai cuisine. Friendly and attentive service. Nice ambiance and decor. Spotless throughout. Only fault was a non working hand dryer in gents toilet!
Great place. Good food, very good service and good value for money. A great evening. Thank you.
Great thai food, large portions, reasonable prices
Fabulous food and excellent service
Had the masuman curry and coconut rice. Absolutely amazing. Really well looked after and highly recommended to you
Lovely food. Highly recommend. Favourite food is the massaman curry.
Excellent as usual massaman chicken curry
Great service food was excellent
FOOD INTOXICATION EXPERIENCE. We went to visit our son who is studying at Warwick and decided to have dinner at this restaurant, which was a terrible food poisoning experience. Would be worthy of an food safety investigation. He had the beef Neau Laou Dang (RED WINE SAUCE (Pad Laou Dang) Plate number 36. Beef £14.65) Within two hours of dinner, my husband began to experience nausea and diarrhea. The vomits did not ended until 7 AM, and the diarrhea needed many dosis of Loperamide Hydrochloride to stop it. He has been severely dehydrated, spending the next day bedridden and rehydrating with electrolytes with great difficulty due to nausea. The fever continued the next day., with strong difficulties to move. To top it all off, while I taking the picture of the restaurants bill, I discovered that we were charged for more dishes that we didnt order for!
Vibrant atmosphere at this decent Thai restaurant, serving many of the Thai culinary classics. The food quality varies, depending on what you order: e.g. Thai fish cakes are average while the satay chicken skewers yum. We found this to be the case with other dishes too. However, the staff are so friendly, efficient and accommodating (e.g. we requested some variation to a few dishes which were accepted), that this more than compensated for some of the dishes being of average quality.
Excellent! Nothing more to say
I haven t had a take away from here for a week, and tonight this place is sadly closed - so we ordered from another local thai restaurant. I felt the need to review Sabai Sabai because tonight we missed it a lot! Its IS the tastiest thai food.
Nice food and always friendly
Great food and service
Very very limited gluten free options. What I had was okay. Nice people though and great atmosphere.
Good food, good service
Fantastic food, good, helpful service
Good food and atmosphere
This is without doubt the best Thai restaurant in the locality. Rather than be sudo-traditional, this place has invested in modern ambiance and the manager and staff are first class and the food is delicious and beautifully prepared and served. Highly recommended!
Excellent food and atmosphere. Service wad a little slow on Saturday night.
High class, elegant, friendly staff and amazing food freshly made. I recommend this restaurant but make a reservation in advance to avoid waiting queuing-altough infront of a nice fireplace.
Great food ...service slow though
Nice place, good atmosphere and good food
Not the cheapest but very tasty
Excellent food and great service!
We have many small and large family gatherings here (23 of us today) and it is certainly one of the friendliest and best Thai restaurants in the UK. Menu is very reasonably priced, especially the set lunch and food quality excellent. Peter and team are the best and they look after my 97 year old Mum and great grand children like they are all royalty.
Excellent food, excellent staff , excellent ambience and excellent evening spent at this amazing thai restaurant. Excellent!!!
Décor is very good, with good food, and reasonable prices, but the service, although good, was very slow. Despite having booked in advance and arriving on-time, we waited for over 40 minutes for our starters to be served. The main course took equally long.
Gorgeous food
Not bad but doesn t really taste like thai
Excellent tempura vegetables and fish in tamarind sauce.
Great food, lovely staff
Food portions are quite good and yummy
Very good food at reasonable prices, some staffing issues but expected at this time.
Food was fantastic however ordered our drinks and didnt arrive till after we had started our starters. We wasnt offered another drink all evening and after giving us the sweets menu we gave up waiting after 20mins and asked for the bill.
Great meal and wine, homely friendly atmosphere. Lovely hosts and just a really nice evening out, thanks M+J
Excellent food and attentive service, even though they were packed with Eat Out people. Prawn toasts were particularly nice for starters and the chosen meals warm or super spicy clearly labelled.
My favourite Thai restaurant in the UK! A beautiful space, wonderful atmosphere, and staff always greet me with a smile like an old friend
Prefer to eat in but takeaway very good too.
Terrible, we always had great food , been going for years but couldn t differentiate what meat we had , tough , bland , Totally rubbish , I m sure we didn t get what we ordered- not going again,
Excellent place. Good food and professional service.
