Congratulations on your 25 years ! We finally made it here after the renovation. We’re so disappointed ☹️ The new menu board was not designed for a senior to read ! Nor anyone who is nearsighted. And the single line up for bakery or dining in (or take out) has not relieved the confusion or congestion. It does seem brighter and more spacious, but the designer failed in other areas in our opinion. Thank goodness for the paper menus! Even with glasses, I would have needed to go behind the till to read all the menu. Another senior lady came up beside me while I was in line and was also grateful to find the paper menu. Wishing you continued success.
Just visited after their store renovations. The interior is very uncluttered and open. Cleaner and more up-scale. New counters and tables. Very nice. However, the number of pastries has declined and the prices have doubled since I was last in here. The sales clerk on the register was not very friendly / attentive. She made a mistake on the bill and then looked annoyed that she had to fix it. She told us they would bring our coffees to us, but after 5 minutes or more we had to ask someone about them and then it took another 5 minutes or more for them to be brought to us. Lots more servers but they don't appear to be organized.
Was my second time here. Had today the western omelette and an americano for breakfast. The omlette was very fluffy, to the point that it tasted bland. The portion was rather small. I was a bit disappointed as the one time before the pastry and coffee we had for lunch here was fabulous. Certainly a great place to buy pastry and baked goods.
Loved their cranberry pound cake, it was so fresh. Relaxing vibe to have breakfast and coffee in the morning. Staff was nice.
We had a late breakfast today. It was pretty good, but my plate was not as full as I expected for the price. I was able to eat more so I had dessert too. Our table had some crumbs on it, but it was the cleanest one we could find. The other free tables we saw were worse, with dishes/glasses still on them. It may have been the patrons who lingered around on their way out after eating, but it felt more like a cafeteria than a cafe. The selection of deli items is good and the pastries on display are very tempting, so I will likely buy food to take home another time. They had a good selection of several fillings in their paczki in the lead up to “Fat Tuesday” (Mardi Gras).
everything is frozen and refrozen, staff are told to lie about it. cakes are baked, then frozen, then thawed and iced and displayed. even if you order a fresh cake it will have been frozen at one point or another, GUARANTEED. the cakes that don’t sell will be taken off display, scraped and put back in the freezer to be re-iced the next day. nearly nothing is made fresh but the bread and even then it is frozen over night, and the bakers are very dirty. most of the pastries are from boxes and staff are taught to lie about that aswell. no one has any idea what food safety is, i witnessed many deplorable practices in that building. the owner is disrespectful towards her hardworking staff and does nothing to show her gratitude for them carrying the weight of running the restaurant while she’s constantly on vacations. she underpays everyone and overworks them. makes promises she will never keep, like giving them an extra responsibility/ title, telling them they would be paid extra, then fighting it when the employee confronts her. she hides behind her beyond unpleasant and disrespectful HR lady. everyone has a bad attitude because it’s such a toxic workplace, which makes the environment very uncomfortable for customers and employees. there have been mold problems and bug problems, and they were never properly dealt with. i watched countless people come for their first day on the job and never come back. i watched many of her hardest working employees leave due to the disrespect they received. just don’t waste your money, or time here. it will never be worth it. you can find better quality at the walmart behind them…
It’s one of the most popular places in leamington to hangout. The baked goods available here are fresh and delicious. The seating arrangements are also decent. Variety of items are available here from breads to cakes and that too in various flavours. I really loved the ambience of this place. Deducted one star because there only couple variety available for vegan food .
Accounting for all three times I have been. The food itself was alright. The customer service was not good. Two out of the three times I ve been they forgot to bring me items that I ve ordered. The workers have been quite rude.
I got cakes most of the time, and every-time I got new style cake and my friends ask me for recommendations. Loved the interaction with the employees. Vegetarian options: As I am indian, i see there are not so many options for vegetarian person.
Beautiful bakery. Delicious food bread and desserts. Wonderful staff and an amazing atmosphere. Had the pulled pork sandwich which was amazing with a hand crafted cappuccino and hazelnut gelato.
If I could rate -100 stars, I would my mom and I spent over $300 in this pathetic excuse of a bakery The one item I had picked out because I have a few teeth due to a terminal illness and could have enjoyed. Was there hazelnut ice cream and some rude Asian woman brought the ice cream to the counter and spat in it while coughing all the way they still expected us to purchase the ice cream Without them even offering to replace it that is beyond disgusting especially in a COVID-19 world where coughing in this day in age could kill someone they would hope somebody doesn t report them to the health department for unsanitary practises is this kind of behaviour is just gross not to mention disrespectful.
I think they have new owners and may be experiencing growing pains. Also, I messaged them the week before to went to see if they had vegan options and they said they had sandwich and soup options. When I got there they didnt have any sandwich options but was offered the veggie sandwich without cheese or pesto for the same price (no lol), but they did give me a pumpkin soup without cream. It was just disappointing after driving 45 minutes from Windsor. The vegan tart was okay, but not worth $6. If they upped their vegan options Id definitely go back.

First time here not happy. We got takeout and no chips and we paid for a smal and a large and we only got smalls. Its not cooked either, the meat wouldnt even stay in the panini. Do not really recommend. Maybe if you get something other then the ham and Swiss sandwich.
Hair in multiple different plates
Not a good first experience. 3 of us ordered together, a sandwich combo and a soup each. They got their soups and for some reason mine didnt come out until they were finished theirs. Then they got their sandwiches, but the guy that ordered after we sat down got his Clubhouse before mine came out. So all my food came out a good time after the my sister and her husband. Then we get some pastries to go before leaving, they forgot my brownie that we were charged for, we found out 2 hours later. Apparently the same thing happened last time my sister came. Next time I would skip the restaurant and double check the box of pastries before leaving. The food was good but not the service.
We had take out and my wife went in, so not sure about service and atmosphere. The Rueben sandwich was delicious, not to greasy, good amount of meat and sauerkraut and a large amount of potatoe chips.

I live in the Windsor area and have visited many times. On Tuesday of this week, I brought a friend for lunch. I have never had an issue before, but on this day our server was so rude and abrupt and dismissive. We placed our order and found a table. Our food was delivered in a timely manner but 1 of the sandwiches were not delivered. When I inquired about it she looked at me and said you never ordered a 2nd sandwhich I responded with I believe I did. But instead of just saying, sorry I must have missed it and I will gladly get that for you, she turned kn her heels went back to the cash grabbed my receipt and slapped on the table and left. Although it wasnt on the receipt that didnt prove that I didnt order it, it only proved It was not included on our bill. She never did ask if I would like the sandwich. Terrible customer service.

Awesome baked goods, the meals are a little pricey but the food and atmosphere was so nice and pleasant I didnt mind paying a little more for the food. update: it is now about 5 yrs later, after I wrote that review, the place is going down hill, I had a very soggy slice of cake, and a very horrible scone, and a soggy apple turn overover these years of going there, and no refunds at all, only the servers looking at me like Im a bad person for complaining.
Great place for coffee or lunch. Excellent baked goods and breads. Also sell deli meats and cheeses. Make up gift baskets and also can purchase alcohol, and a variety of gifts you .can buy for yourself or friends and family. Staff are very pleasant. Its clean, has washrooms and surface park I g and handicapped spaces too. Nice place and gets busy most days
The selection and quality of food here is exciting! My bf is Sicilian, so he was like a kid in a candy shop! Lol! He said they carried things he hadnt seen in a while! We had the spinach and tortellini soup, (delish!) plus he had the Italian trio ciabatta sandwich (sp?). On our way out, we bought 2 delicious cheeses and prosciutto steak and a spicy salami. Beautiful! He regrets not buying dessert! Lol! Definitely coming back!
I have become a frequent customer at Lakeside Bakery for good reason. I cannot say enough great things about the staff, quality of the food and overall attention to detail and customer service. Whether it s stopping in for a quick lunch or catering larger events for my customers or friends and family the team at Lakeside gets it done 10/10 every time. I would highly recommend Lakeside to anyone looking for a kitchen that puts such heart and passion into their craft.

3 of us dined in and had sandwiches. They were the worst sandwiches Ive ever had. There was more big chunks of lettuce than any meat. For $15.00 I expect more than 3 thin slices of meat. We also purchased a variety of sweets and bread/rolls to take home. The bread and rolls were tasty and fresh. The sweets were nothing I would return again for. The staff is the best thing going for this place.
Updated* Tried the baked goods here again and was even more disappointed with the quality than I was the previous time. Its very clear that they thaw frozen desserts made by a third party vendor. I bake cheesecake all the time and these were disgusting and had that store bought flavour. The whipped cream on top is cool whip which is appalling for a bakery to use. No dairy flavour whatsoever and painfully sweet. Save your money and go to an actual bakery instead of one that masquerades as one The atmosphere is lovely but I cant say much for the food. Their baked goods are quite poor and I have eaten at a lot of bakeries. The desserts have no depth of flavour. Ordered a brownie and a chocolate mousse tart. Neither tasted chocolatey at all, just sweet. I couldnt even finish them because they were so sugary. Im not sure if people dont know what a decent baked good tastes like anymore or if they actually like them THAT sweet but it was inedible. .

Well it wasnt that great the cookies were burned and it was supposed to be Christmas cookies we got 2 on each try that were decorated and the rest we oatmeal and chocolate chip then the pastry tray was very overpriced I paid 55.00 for about 5to 7 good pastries then the rest wast lemon and plain pound cake never again

I want to pick out my own paczkis I dont want an assorted box of 12. I could understand during covid but now go back. I dont want to buy 3 dozen to pick what I want. I want a dozen of raspberry, strawberry and whip cream. I dont want apple , lemon and cream.

They charged me for something not mine. I told him this is not mine he said no I didn t charge you for them. After I went to my table and I counted them again I went back to get receipt with details, he said sorry I didn t able to refund you because it was busy. If I didn t come back I didn t get my money. Take care guys when you visit this place check your stuff and ask for receipt with details. I don t recommend it, they did a mistake and they try to cover it by lying . Iam not sure if it was mistake or they do that in purpose. They can make extra money in this way Over five minutes between refund and receipt.
As a local customer I ve been purchasing bread and enjoying lunches here forever so you can imagine my surprise when the owner Danielle has made me jump through various obstacles and multiple conversations just to show I didn t receive a pastry order I paid in advance for. Even the employee has admitted she felt terrible for the incident, but since the owner is the only person to offer a refund or credit, she has reluctantly been willing to assist me in any manor. It saddens me to see how far customer service & the appreciation for the customer has fallen. I received more compassion and understanding from her employee then the owner herself. Sincerely a DISSATISFIED customer.
Great food, clean with helpful staff
$24 for a pound of oven roasted turkey breast is a bit pricey. TRY Bradts downtown Leamington. The same item is 15.99lb and perfectly packaged in butchers paper with tissue separating the slices. There is ample parking behind the store and the entire staff is welcoming.
Waits are too long after ordering and paying for meal. Soup isnt homemade and was lukewarm. Waited 40 min for 1/2 Turkey sand wich and soup. Prices are high and food shouldnt be sub par.

My fiance was a solid regular at the Lakeside. He loved this place. I understood why! He was killed in an accident yesterday and I came in to the Lakeside today with my parents for lunch. I ordered my fiancés regular in his honour. I let the staff know what had happened, and partway through our lunch they presented me with a box wrapped in a bow with a note and a lovely selection of pastries inside. I was moved to tears. Thank you, Lakeside staff. You have the best pastries and the biggest heart.

I dont like to leave negative reviews but the service is so horribly slow. We frequent this Airbnb yearly and always stop in for at least a coffee which is fine but everytime I order food it just takes so long to get it, my last order of a fried egg sandwich (just eggs n toast took 45 min.) Needless to say I only go in for a drink now. Too bad because the atmosphere and place are very nice.

Would not go again. I dont typically post reviews unless its warranted. We ordered pancakes and a sandwich to go. This took 30 minutes. The sandwich order was lost and finally one of the employees checked in with us to see what were were waiting for and told us that the printer had stopped working so our sandwich order got lost. When we finally got everything, with my arms full of our order and my coffee, we started to walk out and the waitress accidently bumped into me and said sorry but then proceeded to make a face and roll her eyes( Im not sure why she did this). Based on her costumerservice, I do not recommend this place and we will not be back.

Will not go again. New to the area and tried for the first time today. Lattes were not hot and soy milk was curdled. Coffee was also tasteless. Sandwich was mediocre. Soup was good. Baked goods looked good but did not get any. A very disappointing experience overall.

NOT IMPRESSED. went today to purchase a box of poochkies. No price increase on the dozen from last year, thought great. Still unable to pick your own box. When I got home I found the reason for no price increase, they decreased the size of the donut. NOT IMPRESSED. We are not stupid No price increase but cut the size of the donut. Really people of leamington have been good to you and your business. Bet you lose customers over this, me being one.

I always liked Lakeside Bakery and shopped there for years. I did not make a big deal about getting 17 dollar worth of mouldy cheese a few weeks ago, but when I went back today without anyone telling me that my oder will be 25 minutes late, and combined with attitude - I was not happy. Because letting me know in time not to come yet, its too much I guess ... who cares about me waiting, because they are busy. Well I was too, and on a tight lunch break as well. I just hope that these are isolated incidents and doesnt happen too often. I wil return for sure, but hope a few things will change in the meantime. All the best.
Bad service, they took more than an hour after we ordered it. Staff got an attitude when we asked the status of our food after we waited an hour. The food didn t come together and it was cold.
Stopped for breakfast because their sighn said best breakfast. Was very disappointed. Over priced and my wifes order was messed up twice. My BLT was not that great. 1st and last time we go there.
Love this place every time we visit Leamington! The brownies and custard tarts are to DIE FOR, and the sanwiches are excellent. I wish that sides other than chips were available, but I know that the cafe is super busy! Not entirely sure, though, why a place that serves breakfast doesnt open until 9am, especially during birding season!
Im not sure what happened to this place. The service was always great, workers were always cheerful. Now everyone working here seems completely miserable. Its a shame. Ive been going here for years and its clear that morale is at an all time low.
Great place. Indoor seating area and a restaurant. Amazing baked goods. A border patrol agent told me about this place. I had a hazelnut coffee and a couple of canoli. There was basically no line, plenty of parking, lots of seats and great staff. Will definitely visit again!

The store has a beautiful interior with excellent staff, all the baked goods I have bought from here were excellent, Ive had nothing but good experiences here up until this point. However, when calling the store to ask a simple question about their hour of operations on a holiday, the lady who answers for general inquiry rudely hung up the phone without saying a word following my question. It doesnt matter whether or not the question is asked frequently, or considered dumb, it is ridiculously impolite to hang up on a customer without saying a word. That level of service (or lack thereof) was shocking, and completely unacceptable.
We walked in and a girl asked if my group and i needed help. I said yes and gave her my order. This girl then disappeared, and never came back. I was standing and waiting, and when I looked over she had gone to the cash register and began serving other customers who had just arrived in line. I ended up going to line up behind the customers who arrived after me, and when I got up to the register I asked the girl why she didnt tell me I had to go to the line to pay and grab my stuff. All she said with attitude was sorry, I thought I told you to go to the line I told her no you didnt. She rolled her eyes and continued to be unpleasant. I eventually talked to a manager who said she would talk to her about letting people know that they should go to the cash register to pay. But honestly she was just saying that to say that. Their customer service is awful. There were 4 people in the back chatting, and no one verbizing to customers that you need to go to the line after you get your bakery order in. This place is disorganized and dirty. Girl handling cash gloveless, touching her hair, and handling food too. Discusting experience. Get organized please.

Beautiful store. So many options to choose from. Also, you can dine here and have wine. We didnt stay, but we did grab a few desserts and bread to take home.

The bakery looks good. The staff are not attentive. We ordered two meals and a small soup for three people. They brought the sandwiches, but one of us had to wait for about 20 additional minutes to get their soup. When they brought the tomato soup, they werent even apologetic. About the goods, most of the products are under Aurora name that you can easily find at a much cheaper in many supermarkets.
We had lattes. The milk was burnt, it was very weak in fact they were undrinkable. They have a fabulous bakery and the baked good are delicious BUT they wont serve with your coffee. What is the point of having a great bakery but not serving baked goods with them? Wont go again.

I have not been to Lakeside for a very long time, but it as always been one of my favorite breakfast places. However since my last visit yesterday, the food seems to have lowered in quality substantially. The service is great, the prices are ok, no difference they other breakfast restaurants, but the food is now sub par. I got the farmers breakfast and the bacon was dried out and way to salty as was the ham. The eggs were runny and seemed like they were cooked in the morning and then reheated later on. The sausages are squishy and salty and the potatoes were dry and hard. I was very disappointed. I will not be returning any time soon.....

I always try to stop here for some fresh bread and a couple of baked goods if Im out that way. They make a good coconut cream pie too.

The first time I visited, I had the chicken caeser wrap (I believe all their sandwiches come with chips and a pickle), it was DELICIOUS. My second visit, I had a clubhouse sandwich (with chips) and it was amazing as well. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Store is clean, and prices are reasonable. Awesome job, Lakeside. I will definitely be back.
I walked in to order a birthday cake for my dad and the lady took my order and wrote everything down on a sheet of paper. The name I wanted on the cake, the flavor, and took all my info down. I went to pick it up the next day and they didnt even have the note. No cake for my dads birthday and they didnt even try to compensate for their disorganization. They asked for my name and phone# about 5 times. Disappointed they didnt even bother on trying to fix this issue. Overall bad experience.

I purchase a cake for birthday last weekend. and I found a string of hair in my cake they never replaced the cake so I wont be going back there again. Bad service They dont care about the customer.

Tried 2 soups, they were not very good. Ordered a cappuccino, it came luke warm, had to send it back. The breads are great! Just wont be back to eat.
Everytime I come here I say I should have gone to Starbucks ....the service is atrocious. And the food? Not that great! The oerson who helped us this time also lacked personal hygiene....
Horrible slow service and always bad attitudes from servers. They dont know the concept people standing in line and putting pastries in a box. They are very unorganized and do not listen to what was ordered. Horrible experience everytime i have to put an order in. Bakery is beautiful and food is ok. HORRIBLE SERVICE!

My birthday was yesterday. My mother got me a cake from here, and it was DELICIOUS! The best cake Ive ever had. I think weve gotten other things from here too that were also just fantastic.

Would give a higher rating if I could. Only detractor would be the price. A BIG however, the quality of their fare far surpasses the price.
Stopped in for breakfast last week and was thoroughly disappointed with the cinnamon apple bread french toast. Three thin slices cut in half and it was cold (as if not made fresh). Not at all worth the money paid! Take home bakery items are nice.
The pulled pork sandwich was the best Ive ever had. My family enjoyed their soups and sandwiches too. The tables were cleaned relatively quickly on the patio. Very friendly service. Would return if we were ever in the area again. There were bees on the patio but its August and to be expected.

Used to love the apple turnover, bought two trays today both were soggy (day old).
You can smell the deliciousness as soon as you walk in. Pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere, service, and quality of food. Several vegetarian options made me happy. Super clean, with a shaded patio.
Sandwiches, pickle and coffee very good...BUT Chips?? What happened to the kettle cooked ones?
Such a cute place. Reminds me of Remark farms in Windsor. I ended up getting the BLT on a butter knot bun! Sooo good! They have a nice seating area inside to eat with a fire place, and outdoor patio. Large deli, and bakery. Will come back again!
Super rude server. Food was greasy, way over price and small portions.
Very disappointed when bought a strawberry rhubarb pie...expensive and it was a blueberry pie which have a dinner guest with allergies to blueberry
Everything was good, but it took 10 minutes to get a Cafe Americana (as far as I know that is a regular coffee).

Bad experience today. Two employees behind the deli counter arguing with each other and ignoring me and other customers. I had to find another emplyee to take my order,
Small portions for the price. Customer service always changes. Some good experiences and some not. Changed from 3 stars to 1 star due to having to pay $40.00 for a breakfast that was not edible.
We went in to buy pastries and each of us ended up purchasing a clubhouse sandwich. They were delicious. The salespeople were very friendly. We totally enjoyed ourselves.

Suggest you take Bacon OFF the menu OR install expensive venting to eliminate offensive odour. One expects to experience the pleasant aroma of a bakery when entering.

The hazelnut coffee and apple turnover was amazing. The staff was polite and the place is really cozy. If I come back to Leamington, Ill definitely stop here.
Found this place on our last day in Leamington and we weren t disappointed. Breakfast was amazing. We had the Hungry man breakfast and the Big Butterknot Sandwich. They also have great selection of pastries and deli products.
Very fine breakfast place m hat a Blackforest cake sheet a long time.
The last two times I went for lunch one year apart they forgot my lunch and the last one July 27/2019 they forgot my daughter in laws hotdog. Having just had surgery shortly before she needed to eat. The third time it was mentioned to them they said they were doing their best. NO WAY to run a business. Very disappointed.
Haven t gone here for breakfast in a long time. My breakfast this morning was disgusting. The hash browns were microwaved, the eggs mush and the cost outrageous. $15 for 2 eggs, hash browns, 2 small pieces of ham and a coffee. Will not be back. Go to Gingerbread House instead!
The food was great and I found the employees friendly and helpful. I only have one suggestion. Please add quiche to your menu.
