Good prices and they sell Caguamas heladas. Food is good enough and the place is nice.
Unfortunately they were out of 3 of the items I had wanted, and it was not the most reasonable amount of food for the price. The food that got did taste good though.
True Mexican food. Prices were fair, portions and taste were excellent, only complaint is the food could have been little hotter temperature wise. They haven't got a liquor license so be prepared for pop or juice drink for a beverage. We all had the chicken Enchaladas with rice and refried beans with salad. Salad was excellent, had a bit of a nip, most likely lime juice. We will add to our dining out rotation.
The only reason this place is still open is probably due to the high demand of this type of food (mexican/central American) in the area, so they always have customers. The service was poor - two of us came together but one plate was brought out 10 mins after the other. The server unfortunately brought the wrong drink flavour, but it was a communication error. I dont mind that she didnt speak much English, I expect that walking into a small family owned restaurant with a menu in Spanish. My real problem was the quality of the food. It came to us room temperature, I don't believe the rice and vegetables was made that afternoon, i could be wrong. I ordered a Mexican platter to try a variety. The carne asada which is like a thin sliced steak was black and burnt. The beans were alright, as were my husband's chicken enchilladas, but not the greatest I've had. The ensalada was measly and overall the food was from an amature home cook, not a restaurant quality. The small portion we got was not worth the entre price of $20 each.
Our friends took us here based on a previous experience. This was one restaurant that stayed open during the pandemic, defying the health dept's "mandates". We supported that. This time was a much different experience. We arrived and were seated in a timely manner. There was another Hispanic group of women and children already there and just finishing up eating, and nobody else. We were given a very sparse amount of nachos and two bottles of sauce one green (hot) and the other red (mild). Between 4 of us, the few nachos were gone quickly and no more of them was offered. We had our orders taken after about 5 min and eagerly awaited our food, which didn't come. 3 Hispanic men arrived after our orders were taken and they were seated, orders taken and served within 5 - 10 min. We were scratching our heads wondering why. After what seemed like about 30 min, one of our meals showed up and it was cold. About 2 min later, 2 other meals showed up and they were the same temp as if they had been sitting for 20 or 30 min on a cold shelf somewhere. About 2 min later, my burrito showed up, which was still warm inside because it was wrapped in an insulating tortilla. The 3 Hispanic men were paying their bills and leaving at this time. The food was mediocre at best since it was ice cold for 3 of our group, and the service itself was terrible. Wait time was far too long for what it is and we didn't appreciate the way our food was neglected while they served others of their own race first, or at least that was how it appeared. Based on the temp of the food we received, it was blazingly apparent that our food had sat for a very long period of time while other dishes were being prepared and served to others. Very disappointed in how this went and I don't believe we will be going back again since there are lots of other Mexican restaurants in the area that provide much better service and hot food instead. While we appreciate this restaurant for sticking up for the rights and Freedoms of Canadians prior, we simply cannot support such poor service when there is hardly anyone there and they are fully staffed.
The worst experience I’ve EVER had dining out! If your looking for a nice place to try THIS is NOT it!!! Firstly, when you walk in every person in the place just stares at you, very unwelcoming feeling. The waitress speaks no English, would typically not be an issue, still easy enough to communicate if both try, but the fact they they don’t even try to communicate/ understand is a total turn off. We ordered the carne asada to share it came out within 5 minutes I was initially impressed and quickly realized it was far to fast since it was old and COLD not even warm. We couldn’t even eat it. When we asked why it was cold to the waitress that brought the food and was speaking some English to us we were not responded to just ignored.... The only thing that was actually warm were the tortillas. So we paid $30 for tortillas a few tortillas! I’ll never go back or recommend this place to anyone!
This was by far the worst place we have ever eaten! If I could give ZERO starts I would. Please spare your time and money and do not go here. I’m not one to complain, and I have NEVER posted a bad review before because I feel horrible for doing so, but this place was so bad, I feel like people need to be aware before they go. It started out with us asking for chips and salsa… we were given chips and two squeeze bottles of some sort of sauce (not salsa at all!). When I asked what was in these bottles, the waitress just shrugged her shoulders! When I asked if they had a kids menu, she said yes and showed me the adult menu. (There wasn’t a kids menu) The kids ordered tacos, 2 hard (which weren’t too bad) and two soft which were not great. I asked for a side of rice and beans for them and was given French fries. My husband ordered two soft tacos and asked for them to be on flour tortilla and not corn tortillas… he got corn tortillas and they were not good at all! She did end up bringing him two tacos on flour tortillas but he said they were horrible and full of very fatty meat… he barely ate any of his. I ordered a pulled pork quesadilla with sour cream in the side and well as rice. I never got any rice, and the quesadilla It was soggy and disgusting. I couldn’t even eat it…. And the sour cream was literally white liquid with a water consistency…. Definitely NOT sour cream. Never, ever again. Clearly the people who are posting all of these positive reviews must be family members and friends because it was so horrible and not at all worth the 50+ dollars it cost for the 4 of to “eat” here.
Great flavours and delicious food. The service was fast & friendly. Definitely recommended.
Terrible service they dont serve quickly, they make you wait too long, they have a wifi zone and it never works, they dont clean, they need staff to serve and above all customer service, the guy serves with an ugly face.
Good restaurant but they put the price up a little. And the meals got smaller.
birria tacos was not as I expected based on past experiences, fries werent cooked well and we got pineapple juice instead of a pineapple juarito. disappointing experience, not what it used to be, wont be back.
I like toast shrimp
Dont bother. Theres much better places in town.
Very bad service from the workers, they do not serve you as they should be
Love the Birria tacos!
Amazing food good service
Our families meal today was horrible.. nothing was good, my daughter literally cried when she took a bite of a taco because it was THAT salty.
Stopped in today for a take-out order. We both got the nacho cheese fry supreme . Was good and I would recommend if looking for a quick meal thats not the usual big chain fast food.
Excellent service
Excellent experience overall. Great food and customer service. The change of ownership was for the best.
Nice staff and tasty mexican food. Good for families
Shrimp cocktail was good. Nice staff for a busy day.
A nice place to eat
Good seasoning
I loved the food and the very friendly service
Love the place and the food we had ordered. Even though they dont understand English they tried their best to make us understand about the food.
The menu does not have updated prices, when you make the payment they charge you more. They do not give the invoice with the prices of what you have consumed, they only give you the total of your consumption. The chicken with Tajada is horrible, it has no flavor at all.
Leamington boasts the largest concentration of commercial greenhouses in all of North America (many of them hydroponic), and the title of the Tomato Capital of Canada goes along with being amongst the country s top producers of peppers, cucumbers, flowers, and more recently, cannabis. This offers plenty of opportunities for seasonal workers to find jobs in the region; for migrant workers, mostly from Central America and Mexico, it is done through the government of Canada s Temporary Foreign Worker Program. In 2006, Leamington had the highest percentage of Latin Americans in Canada, with 4.9%, and according to the 2016 Canada Census, there were 3,225 immigrants in Leamington from Mexico alone. This has generated the need for services such as several restaurants and grocery stores, catered to the Hispanic population The ranchero vibe was alive and well at Leamington s La Hacienda. Enjoyed the enchilada, chihuahua style taco, carne asada, beans, & salad. Carne asada is grilled and sliced beef, usually chuck steak, though skirt steak or flank steak can also be used. It was marinated then grilled or seared.
Walked in and everyone stares. Expensive and small portions. Waitress kept coughing all over. Difficult to find someone to understand your order as they do not speak english, meals ordered were mixed up, taken back and not brought back out again. Left without eating. Kids food looked horrible and they did not eat as well. Cold food, no nachos or salsa offered, not like traditional Mexican whatsoever. Save your time and money.

After I bought a used truck in Lemmington, I asked the salesman to recommend a place to eat. He recommended La Hacienda. Took home 2 combination plates, and Wow! Was it ever good! Going to pick up truck on Monday and you can be sure I m stopping in again!
Best Mexican food... Wish I could have a Negra Modelo Mexican beer with the food (no alcohol beverages here)
Restaurant doesnt have any covid-19 protocols. Waitresses doesnt use any mask, no social distancing.
Amazing place to get food!

Very nice and delicious place
I loved the food and it is very delicious, they serve you very quickly. Excellent place to eat. Mexican food.
Pozole is not pozole rather it looks like pot mole. The cutlery is somewhat dirty. The cake looks like a hamburger.
Good food and good service
Fabulous authentic Mexican and great staff!
Great atmosphere. Amazing food. The best staff
Waitresses were really nice the food was amazing
Hole in the wall gem. Very friendly service! It looks like a family is running the restaurant. Authentic Mexican food. Found the burrito a little bland but after smothering it with the homemade hot sauce, it was great! Tacos were very good and Im looking forward to going back soon to have more!
CLOSED AWAITING A NEW OWNER: The food was very good and reasonably priced but however the staff ignored all Covid protocols with the exception of one waitress who wore a short clear plastic shield over her mouth. All other staff wore no mask ie 2 waiters 2 waitresses, kitchen staff and receptionist all maskless. They did not keep updated records of patrons who ate in the restaurant nor did they ask for proof of vaccination. If I can hypothesize, fully knowing that they were soon going out of business, they defied health department rules to keep everyone safe. They were in my opinion totally selfish & socially irresponsible in helping to reduce the spread of the virus. I trust the future new owners will remediate this appalling situation for the sake of everyones health.
Very good food,
Delicious tacos
The food here is amazing, there wasnt one thing we didnt like, and we have very picky eaters.
Good Latin food
I like the food at this place, it has a somewhat peculiar Mexican touch, the pozole is the best around

Great food and atmosphere. I heard Leamington is known for its more Mexican flavour. Was not disappointed
Had barbacoa and pezole. Both Delicious
Pretty decent place, authentic mexican food.
1st time to visit, excited by other reviews saying how great the food was ...but...there is no English menu, and... the server also does not speak English ..which would be fine if I spoke Spanish ..but.. unfortunately neither my wife nor I do. There was also a sense that we really were not welcome...so we just left. Too bad we really wanted to try what we expected would be great Mexican food. I have conclude they just do not want the business. Hard to figure.
Great food
Excellent
Awesome food, going again
Best Mexican restaurant in windsor Essex. Fair prices, family and friends seat comfortably.
Overall, the food, the service, the atmosphere was okay. Our food was cold, especially the carne asada, which was a big dissapointment for us. The enchilada wasnt impressive at all as it hardly had any meat in it. The beans and rice were very tasty, however not tasty enough to bring us back.
Nice
Excellent place
Amazing service and great food!
Very delicious food but a bit expensive

Everything is good but ..was.no.more..pool.lef
Tasty fresh Mexican food. Could have done with a bit more spice.
Pizza is authentic wood-fired and always great. Other menu items also good. Nice atmosphere, generous glasses of wine. Staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Hidden gem in downtown Leamington.
