Ive never been more disappointed in my food... first time eating here. Unfortunately I wont be back. My meal was so blah no flavor I tried to finish it because I was hungry and it was so blah the only thing I could taste was the onions and peppers in my Chimichanga.. which was blah as well very little meat inside... maybe they have better meals but I wont be back to try any.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE FAMILY KITCHEN!!!! I have never been disappointed with ANY of the food I have had there! The restaurant is owned by Kirsty Leathem who is a genuinely wonderful, giving person who has helped so many! It is an absolute wonderful place, with really delicious food, and a great staff. If youve never been there do yourself a favor & go!!!! You will NOT be disappointed. She even has Eggs Benedict on the menu! Awesome restaurant owned by an awesome person! Very beautiful people run this top notch family style restaurant. Leamington is a place where people go to visit several great destinations within this little city. Point Peele National Park is one and if your ever going, be sure to stop by and say hello to a great Canadian Hero who has taken the road to successful restaurant foods and beverages. Family Kitchen is my go-to for breakfast. Excellent home cooked meals and friendly service. Customer service is over the top! Great selection of menu items. They are very supportive of the community. You can contribute to their efforts by supporting the meal ticket program while there and help those who are less fortunate to get a hot meal as well, if you want.

Fair price and quality if you are unsure of what you want and need a few options. Not a fan of the pay first policy though

Poor experience, excellent food if you catch them on a good day. Ordered a Blt, they served it missing ingredients, the T. When brought up to their attention they admittedly said they ran out just after I ordered. Would have preferred a refund over a incorrect order. So disappointed since this is my favourite breakfast place.

Came here for lunch with friends. The coffee is very good. One had their fabulous breakfast, the other had their sandwich and I had their daily special. All were delicious. I liked that you could get alternatives to fries. I also liked their booth. You could talk and hear without yelling. Sat there for 2 hours and we werent urged to go. Comfortable for conversation.

Ordered the Mexican breakfast for dine in and it was terribly bland. I wanted it with scrambled eggs which is made with beating the egg with some milk before cooking. I got a plain fried egg chopped into pieces (and it was cold) Told the waitress about the eggs she wouldnt have them remake, she just kept saying sorry thats how we make them. The beans were also cold was all just sauce no trace of any actual beans, the rice was cold and bland. The only good thing was the toast. I didnt end up eating much of the meal other than the toast. Wishing I hadnt tipped first.

Food was pretty good but all the anti-vax and politics stuff was definitely unnerving. I understand the reason but I came for breakfast, not politics.

Has gone down a lot. Used to have delicious fresh Mexican food now its very bland and expensive for what you get. The bacon is super thin on the breakfast nearly see-through and every single sauce like salsa, guacamole or sour cream are all a dollar extra, really adds up fast. Not worth the money when theres much more authentic fresh food nearby

While visiting Leamington for the beauty of Point Pelee we stumbled across this other beauty of a restaurant! Delicious food, home made bread, best bacon ever and delightful hostesses. Ordering threw me off as you order at the counter and pay first then they bring your food to the table like a regular restaurant but it was faster and changed my mind quickly - more places should try this method! Everyone in the place was happy and enjoying their meals and I am glad we found this gem! Coffee was great! Price was reasonable as well!!

Kids Friendly

We were looking for a place to eat after a really long drive to Point Pelee - lots of road work on and lots of delays. We decided to eat here and were happy we did. The ambience was old world, clean , neat and spacious. The food was really nice and reasonable. The menu is fairly extensive and I believe they change it regularly. The girl who served us was friendly and helped us get the right stuff. The place is located in the main area of Leamington but they have parking at the back. They are perhaps the only restaurant that I have come across in Ontario that offers free meals to the needy. Its called meal ticket and provides a free hot meal to anyone who wants one No questions are asked or people verified. Approximately they serve 25 - 35 people nearly everyday. Personally we felt this was a great initiative as going hungry is not good.

Beautiful place to have breakfast in Leamington! Wonderful service. Very friendly staff and reasonable price. Coffee is cheap and re-fillable. We noticed they have this great Meal Ticket programme and anyone who cant afford a meal can just get in and have hot food and drinks, No questions asked! God bless you for this service! Great little diner in Leamington. Prices are decent. It was so great to have enchiladas with some beans and rice. They have a large selection of pre made food and lots of soups. Breakfast is all day too. I was so hungry, I forgot to take a photo. Next time.

This place deserves an award! Our favorite at home meal so far is the lasagna, but the fresh tacos are a very close second! Cudos to the Family Kitchen team for continuing to produce awesome meals, groceries, even their own coffee and also providing support for the less fortunate, in spite of the negative shadow the town has tried to cast upon them.

Our favorite breakfast place! I have been bringing my kids here since they were small and now me and my grandson go there to enjoy breakfast too from time to time. The place is always clean and welcoming. Your coffee is always full and the staff is amazing. The owner even has a meal ticket program that you can donate to. She uses it to feed people that may not necessarily be in the position to cook a hot meal for themselves and to me that is an amazing bonus.

I belive it to be the best place for breakfast in town I have not yet tried anything else on the menu besides the breakfast but if its anything like it should be good.

VIBE: A breath of fresh air walking into this establishment, from the signs in the lobby as you walk in (A VERY NICE VIBE GOING IN). Neat menu hanging straight ahead overtop the friendly staff in the till area. Rustic feel, comfortable, welcoming, classy but relaxed. Choose the seat youre most comfortable with. FOOD: I highly recommend the traditional mennonite perogies, with cream gravy, farmers sausage, and side of veggie (they served corn and it all together was such a nice treat). *strawberry sweet jam included* Did I mention this was at breakfast?? I believe same menu all day note: there are breakfast options too absolutely. COFFEE is awesome too, nice sitting area with comfortable living room feel available, where all kinds of neat cactisis and other aloe vera and other cool green things growing which Im not sure the name of (No worries not at all cluttered, just the right amount). *You can also buy jams, jarred items and other neat tasty-looking things 2 bring home * HIGHLY RECOMMEND A++ (bonus info for anyone who took the time to read to the end. Be sure to check out the little tucked away GEM. Some canvas paintings, from a local artist and her daughter. Before covid began, both the mom and daughter had been giving art lessons, not sure as of now. Simple but beautiful art, perfect to hang on a wall, or an easel (which i saw available). Not sure of complete range of prices, but I know for sure $15-$20 each i saw. Purchased two for my daughters. One for each of their rooms, theyre going to love them I will attach a photo ) Cant wait to take my 6 and 7 year old girls here!! now THIS, is a TRUE Family Restaurant.

I normally really like this place. Its very nice and comfy and their Belgium waffles are amazing! But I recently had a pretty unpleasant experience: my friend and I were eating there, then we purchased 2 slices of coconut cream pie to go. I had tired that pie before and found out very delicious. But this time when I started I felt a sour taste, tried the second bite/fork to double check, my friend said the same thing; it was definitely not fresh. So disappointed, wehad to throw it out. My friend went back to tell the owner about our experience, who denied it, stating that it was all fresh.

It makes me cry, what these people went through. Im a sentimental person, and I have the utmost respect for these people. Id eaten here once before ten years ago and I loved it then, I still love it now. They serve Mexican, Mennonite, and generic American food. They have something for everybody. Its clean and well arranged. The bathroom was big enough and was well maintained. Last time I was here I had some kind of Mexican food. I loved it and the server was nice. This time I am having Wrenikje (pierogies,), Mennonite-style. They bring out a whole thing of ten percent cream when you order your coffee. I am dining in and I got a nice table to myself, despite some other customers being there. The lady who is running the place is very efficient and hardworking, which I respect. My food is bomb, and honestly, if I lived here, this would be one of two go-to restaurants for me. Big Mennonite guys who could crush me with their bare hands eat here. The reason I respect them so much is because they did their it utmost to apply common sense and stand up against the tyranny of the government during the recent faux-crisis. They have a lot of community support. I dont know their current status but I really hope if they need some additional help they can get it as this place is a gem. I will pray for them.

Food was bland - mediocre AT BEST (and thats being generous). Staff was decent, though the owner seems to have a screw or 4 loose. No amount of edibles causing the most intense munchies would have me eating here again.

Recommend mexican combo breakfast

Food was decent, mexican food not so great. Cashier/ server became rude and ignored us when she noticed I pointed out the assinine freedom convoy coffee flavours they had for sale such as COVID-1984. Ironic since they had posters everywhere saying they accept everyone, guess not coffee critics. Felt very immature, the kid that ended up bussing the food was actually quite friendly and good at his job.

We ate here specifically to support a local business that defied the governments non-scientific, ridiculous scare tactics. Great service, and food (other than the crunchy rice). Everything was great. One of us had the Mexican combination plate and the other had the chicken quesadilla. Then to support them even further, we bought one of their grab n go ready-made meals. We meant to buy a home-made loaf of bread before we left, but forgot. Oh well, we will definitely buy some bread next time and there definitely will be a next time! Thank you Family Kitchen for serving the community even when the government didnt want you to. By the way, as we were leaving, another couple entered the restaurant and said that there were there specifically to support them because of the harassment they received from our government. XO

Food was good but I don t think they should give you their crust for your toast with breakfast.

The food here is rough. It was hard to finish our meals. It was either undercooked or over cooked. Nothing in my opinion is homemade, but canned or frozen. We will never be back. For the cost we could of ate somewhere a lot better. I truly dont understand why people still come here. I highly recommend avoiding altogether.

My family and I were referred to this place when we missed breakfast at our hotel- we were were all grateful we did! Such good food, fresh ingredients, and we all took something home (jam, honey, soups- highly recommend any of the soups). Would love to go back and try other dishes! Well worth a stop if youre in Leamington.

Loved this place. We stopped for breakfast on our way to mountain bike at Two Creeks. Our omelettes were delicious. The service was friendly and fast. She accommodated our seating request so we could keep and eye on our bikes outside which means so much to a cyclist.

I have been to this restaurant and wasnt impressed so would normally never share a review had not so many shut down motivated reviews been shared. With so many enthusiastic fans, shouldnt her takeout service be booming so that she wouldnt feel she might starve to death if forced not to allow in restaurant dining? The food was not great. I have not gone back.

I am reviewing this restaurant on its lack of care for its customers during Covid 19. They defied a government order to close for a month, and had a huge crowd gathered outside, mostly unmasked, to protest against the advice of medical experts and government officials in our province, Ontario. There were children in that crowd. The owner of this restaurant is more concerned about the profitability of her restaurant, and her own personal needs, than the lives and safety of her neighbours. This public gathering was a Covid outbreak waiting to happen. I hope Leamington checks for community spread from it.

Ignore the 1 star reviews, these people have never actually been here and are just bashing the place because a certain Facebook page tells them to. In terms of cleanliness and safety, everything is constantly wiped down, immaculately clean so no worries here. In terms of the actual restaurant, great portions, prices and the bread they use is to die for. The staff is very helpful and fast to fill up coffee for refills. The only thing is I wish they were open later than 2 because the food is great.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Leamington. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Service is great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can t wait to return and wouldn t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Leamington or Essex-County for that matter!

Ive eaten here twice. I had the Country Breakfast: homemade bread for the toast (10/10), Mennonite Sausage (10/10 huge portion!), two Eggs and potatoes...Excellent! I also tried the Mexican Combination Platter Very tasty! The sevice was excellent both times and everyone, including the owner, was attentive and concerned with our experience.

The food was all terrible, the rice and beans served the Mexican dishes are absolutely disgusting as they were both bland and cold. Nothing served here was appealing and my friends and I were unable to finish our meals. Don t come here unless you want a miserable breakfast.

We used to look forward to stopping here when we go to point Pelee but once we we signed in per COVID regulations and took a seat, we noticed something strange! The servers were not wearing masks! We did order and unfortunately the food was very bland. Definitely not up to standard. I felt uncomfortable with the server not wearing a mask, and in retrospect should have left.

Been here a few times for breakfast, fairly mediocre food, and unfortunately one of the only places in leamington for a sit down breakfast. Wont be returning as they disregard public safety, and who wants to eat somewhere that doesnt listen to the health unit? Not me. If you want a great sit down breakfast the Car Barn in Wheatley is way better, way cheaper and not too far of a drive.

Updating this review after they stayed open during a mandated covid shutdown and then refused to ask people to wear masks etc. I wont be back.

While in Leamington, I thought that I would stop to support this young lady who has been fighting the good fight since this whole pandemic thing has started. The food was awsome and so is the owner. I will definitely come back here to eat even if its only take out. There is a great view only a couple blocks away at the marina. Keep up the great work and god bless.
