Beaverbrook, Reigate Rd, Leatherhead KT22 8QX, United Kingdom
Tucked away behind our traditional walled kitchen garden, you’ll find The Garden House Restaurant – a place where comforting, home-cooked dishes and interiors inspired by the surrounding gardens conspire to create a delightful dining experience.
Went to the garden house for lunch. So beautiful and atmospheric, everybody was really welcoming and Phillipa was especially lovely, taking good care of us and informing us of the menu and specialities of the day. The beef ragu was delicious and the sticky toffee pudding was a great treat! Definitely worth it.
Lunch today for six, lovely location, horrible prices. Do you really have to charge £140 for a T bone steak, more for sides and at least £35 for a small glass of wine and then a service charge? Take a large bag of cash, a sense of humour and enjoy the fleecing.
Fantastic venue. Lunch at the Garden House. Great food, wonderful service. First class.
This restaurant is amazing. The staff are ALL superb. Their skill is clear and their empathy and kindness is exceptional. We went here for my Mum's 93rd Birthday they could not have gone out of their way more to make the occasion special. The food is totally excellent and worth every penny. Jemima our waitress was brilliant. The hostess Annabel was the best we have ever seen. She was totally " on " everything that was happening in the whole restaurant. Josh the manager was empathetic and impressive. The venue is unbeatable. Choose this restaurant for the special things and the every day events and they will make everything special.
An amazing restaurant with magnificent food, excellent service, very warm and lovely staff and cosy outdoor seating. We enjoyed the food and will be back many times.
We have visited The Garden House Restaurant for first time, from the moment we have arrived, Miss. Jemima was very welcoming & attentive. The atmosphere is very nice and food was very delicious. The service is really good. The restaurant is highly recommended for special events. The big thanks goes to Jemima who made the whole experience memorable.
At the Hotel The Garden House, you'll indulge in beautifully crafted dishes in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Imagine a blooming garden house where every bite is an explosion of flavors. The meals are true works of art, with fresh ingredients and innovative combinations. And the cocktails? Ah, the cocktails are fit for a king! If you're looking for a memorable dining experience, The Garden House is your place. Prepare to be enchanted by the beauty of the place, the quality of the food, and the impeccable service. But beware: this culinary paradise can be addictive!
Thank you to all the team for making my birthday lunch so special. The food was delicious, the interiors gorgeous and all the staff so friendly. Only caught Philippa’s name who was so kind and thoughtful throughout our visit. Thank you!
Great friendly place. Perfect Service, fantastic food. Top class and thoroughly recommended.
Food and drinks: Great food Service

The surroundings are lovely and the food is amazing.
Glorious place massive acres of land breakfast very nice
If there is a better location to enjoy a breakfast I have yet to see. Looking forward to visiting again soon. Rooms : 5/5
We dined and had breakfast here and had the most amazing delicios food! Service, staff and the setting is superb! Highly recommended. Service : 5/5
Excellent lunch, would visit again.
Really enjoyed lunch at The Garden House
We visited The Garden House restaurant part of The Beaverbrook Luxury Estate for a business lunch on a weekday. The estate is simply breathtaking with its views and 470 acres of land. Acquired by a private owner in 2017, this estate was transformed but maintained its true heritage and spirit. We had an informative tour of the main hotel by so knowledgeable Duty Manager Adam who is a great ambassador of the place. We approached lunch and were offered an option for an aperitif. The table was well lit by a natural daylight as it was located by the window with great views of the vegetable gardens and the surrounding hills in the horizon. The Ambience was very homey and relaxing. You have the feel of the 18th-century interior but with a modern twist. We settled for a set lunch menu, which was reasonably priced. The dishes were of a great presentation, quality, taste, and flavour. Service was very attentive, friendly, and prompt. This is a simply fantastic place for a relaxing retreat or business lunch. Im very impressed. I will be back soon. Thank you
Real mixed experience at the Garden House specifically. First, super staff, they are consistently professional, helpful, and friendly. Rooms are a mixed bag. Beds are very comfortable, rooms well stocked and comfortable, but showers in Verbena / Thyme last time were not great and old. The coach house is lovely. Food in the evening restaurant is a bit bland, the menu does not change much and is expensive. Children had better room service food, and on my last visit a couple of colleagues were ill. Not many great choices for children at breakfast.
It was delicious! Beautiful place !
Wow! What a fantastic venue. Food was Devine and the service superb!
Lovely staff and great food. Had a lovely time here.
For a restaurant like this: 1- some of the staff weren t friendly at all 2- food was subpar - fish very salty 3- many details of high quality are missing, so not sure what we re paying for. It is definitely a beautiful country side experience but I wouldn t come for the food. we used to come here a lot, but it seems that the quality went down
A total disappointment of a dinner. Considering the above average prices like something youd see in a Michelin star gastropub in Bray, we expected a similar experience. On arrival a member of staff led us to a wobbly table, right next to fire extinguishers and next to a very busy staff area. So the whole night you get to experience the waiting staff squeeze past your chair which is great obviously. The chairs had bread crumbs on them which the waiter promptly brushed away with his hand, wonderful little detail that adds a lot of authenticity to the experience. The chairs themselves are amazing, you can clearly see deep indentations of countless buttcheeks that sat in them, probably dating to the time the place was opened. Maybe they are memory foam? Wonderful, fits like a glove. The menus are a scrambled mess of disorganised papers not connected in any way, leaving you with more paperwork at a dinner table than you probably get in an office. I ordered a 12 pound mocktail with a fancy name that ended up being just lime cordial and some lemonade. Exquisite. The starters were courgette salad and a crab on a brioche bread slice. Salad was honestly the best part of the whole dinner, simple yet tasty, maybe a bit bland but inoffensive. The crab was a complete disaster. The layer of crab was barely visible and brioche bread was tasteless. I did appreciate a single radish as a decoration on the plate, nice touch, goes really nicely with crab or rather a ghostly presence of it, a faint memory of it maybe. The mains were porchetta and a duck breast. Porchetta came to the table as if it was thrown into the deepest fires of hell, completely burnt, dry and oversalted. The skin was black in places, completely charred rather than being deliciously crispy. Cutting it with a table knife was a good workout though. The stuffing seemingly consisted of mashed black pepper and more salt. Really bad, Id be embarrassed to let a dish go out to a customer like that. The duck was alright, a single breast cooked somewhat evenly with a bunch of random sides that dont enhance the taste of the meat at all, not terrible not great. The final bill was 170 for 2. Never again, save your money, go somewhere else. The waiting staff are all nice though.
A very beautiful place to have lunch
Amazing locatio & very friendly staff . Probably one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever been. Food portion are a bit small but tasty. Please tell people that you serve roast dinner on Sundays . We found out too late and were a little bit disappointed. We will be back for sure though!
Perfect for my daughters 21st. Staff were great, amazing setting, excellent food. Special treat.
Overpriced food, extremely expensive cost of drink. Food and drinks: See above. Service : 4/5 |
This is a beautiful hidden gem in an English country garden. The perfect place for some escapism, ambient air, and excellent service. My husband and I visited the Garden House restaurant last Friday for lunch. We called on the day and the team were able to accommodate our last minute request. On arrival, the team were super friendly and well attired. They gave us a choice of seating outside in their beautiful garden or inside in their gorgeous interiors. The food was complimented by their own grown produce / local produce. We were particularly impressed with the purple cauliflower! For nibbles, we were recommended the chicory, sunflower seeds and chamomile to compliment the Sardinian flatbread. This was a great recommendation. My husband then ordered the fish of the day which was monkfish. He was more than delighted with the dish, which had the correct levels of juices to give the desired taste. I ordered the gnocchi which was super fresh and tasty. The choice of wines and cocktails to compliment were great too. We were advised by the team that we can walk around the garden in between courses too. We noticed that some people arrived after the kitchen closed, but the team were so accommodating that they were able to sort a selection of food for them. Whilst the price may be a tad on the high side, it is very worth it. We saw this as more of an experience, than just lunch. We look forward to visiting again.
Nothing to do with the hotel. Just had dinner. Lovely but it was £££££££
Wonderful food and service Had a very pretty kitchen garden . Went to see the main house and was rudely turned away. Had intended to spend Christmas there with a friend. Not after that . We were even escorted off the grounds by a man in a buggy . That after spending nearly £300 on lunch. Anyway can recommend the Garden restaurant. Give the hotel a miss
We were seated at the table closest to the entrance with an icy blast each time people entered/left. We asked to move and the waiter moved us to a table further down the conservatory, however there were people seated outside and we were opposite the entrance to their table, had the same issue and had to get up 3 times to close the door as it was left open. In the middle of November seating people by a door does not work. I did not mention again to staff as restaurant looked full and didnt want to create a fuss as I was being treated for my birthday. Food was good but was i was frozen and spoilt the whole experience. At this type of establishment the staff should have addressed the issue, they saw me having to repeatedly close the door.
Really lovely restaurant
Not sure about the restaurant after we ordered a crab pasta dish which used egg noodles instead of spaghetti and being half asian I know the difference between egg noodles and spaghetti! And seeing how much we paid for the dinner, it s a little shocking. They could have just told us they ran out of pasta and given us another dish. It s a shame as the waitress that served us was lovely and setting is gorgeous. But the food was a let down. *UPDATE: Have reached out to you/the manager with no response*
To sum up in one word: OVERRATED! I came for my 30th birthday with some family, with myself personally choosing this venue for the occasion due to its reputation and being more special than the average high street restaurant. Well, I wish I had booked one of those instead. The menu is extortionate and not worth what you eat. I felt embarrassed to have chosen this restaurant as I saw my family grimacing at the prices, and ordering starters for mains in an effort to save money. This meal was also my gift from my Mum and Sister, who felt terrible that we did not enjoy the experience and this my present. A friend also phoned ahead and paid for a glass of Prosecco as a birthday treat for myself, which the team delivered to me on the day. They did not state that my friend had purchased this, and instead took the credit themselves as offering me a complimentary drink. Therefore, I did not thank my friend and she felt embarrassed to ask if I received it. Overall, unless you have a lot of dosh to spend, I wouldnt recommend the restaurant here for any occasion, particularly a special one. Food and drinks: To sum up in one word: OVERRATED! Impeccable service and very good food. Delightful ambiance....
Beautifully created dishes in a cosy laid back garden house. Good kids meals too. Cocktails are great and there even was a Christmas selection. Only drawback is that we have been multiple times been told off by a rude lady behind us to keep our 2 year olds quiet. In the end a waiter even came to enhance this message, however, this restaurant is not marketed as an adults-only one, so we would have appreciated it if the waiter had remained a neutral position. Left a little bad taste to our experience.
We had a lovely evening at The Garden House, the service was lovely, food was delicious as always. 4 stars because its reassuringly expensive..
Fantastic food. Fantastic members of staff and wonderful place.
Food tasted good apart from the sunday roast which was dissapointing. Big portions. Would visit again.
very nice place
A bit pricey but overall a good experience.
Great food and excellent service
I chose the Garden House to celebrate a special occasion with friends, and it was an excellent decision. The staff are wonderful, the food is excellent and the drinks menu is extensive - I was designated driver, and can highly recommend the non-alcoholic cocktails.
Great atmosphere and good food
Good food and service
Very limited and pricey dishes for somewhat mediocre food. Great surroundings. Staff pleasant but need to be more attentive.
Lovely food, although quite expensive. Service was exceptional. We took a good friend and his wife. We had a really enjoyable time. Worth every penny.
Lovely treat for fathers day. Food heavenly. Service exceptional. Relaxing setting (not so sure about the cow paintings, but they did make us smile). Highly recommended as a treat for a special person
Love the main house. This didnt live up in terms of food or service and now very pricey. Used to recommend. Have given feedback directly.. await s response
Lovely relaxing lunch in a pretty location. Excellent service and lovely food. Pleasingly not as expensive as expected.
Pleasant food in a charming garden restaurant. Nothing fancy here. Helpful young team. Wildly overpriced though and depressingly undersized portions.
There is nothing to hate about this place, high-quality food, service, seating everything was spot on. The peach burrata is a must to try and the roasted paper risotto
Fast service, excellent teamwork, delicious food
The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious too and the views before the sun set were beautiful. Kid-friendliness: Even though my children are teenagers, they were offered the option to order off the childrens menu but an adult sized portion.
Absolutly Lovely place !!
Amazing venue, wonderful food, can t fault it
Stunning flavours, lovely surroundings, brilliant service, great amenities. Had a wonderful lunch.
Best meal of the year eaten here. Cannot fault anything. Would highly recommend.
We stayed with our dog and this was the only covered eating option for us . The greenhouse incredibly noisy and was full of screaming children which the few staff that were available tried to placate. Relaxing environment it was not. All the restaurant manager could do was apologize Food
Perfect setting, high end restaurant. Perfect combination of flavours with the freshest of ingredients. Push the boat out and enjoy the treat! Russell Bracegirdle Food
Great food and staff. Had a super meal and maybe a little too much red wine lol. The lamb was fantastic
Friendly homely feel..great food
Really great food and staff. Dog friendly (call ahead). Not the cheapest option, however was very good.
I have been to The Garden House quite a few times in the past months. Each visit was wonderful, amazing food, fantastic service and a very relaxing atmosphere. Thank you for the fantastic times..
Very lovely experience with work colleagues whilst we stayed over at Beaverbrook. The food was delicious. Had a fabulous time!
Gorgeous place. Absolute top food and atmosphere
Amazing food and great service in a pretty setting
Food very over priced for what you get. Lovely location and beautiful decor. Service pretty slow.
My wife and I have come to The Garden House for Valentines Day lunch two years in a row. Exceptional food, nice selection of wines, very helpful and attentive staff. The menu changes with the seasons which keeps things interesting and delicious. Highly recommended.
It was OK. Food was good, although the catch of the day was really just a tuna salad. Our wine was kept away from the table and we had to keep asking for it to be topped up. The waitress was lovely, however, most of the staff were dismissed at 10pm so we had to find our own coats when leaving. It did feel a little like weve got your money now - so on your way. For a restaurant of this supposed level that wasnt great. Having dined at similar quality restaurants in London, The Garden House lacking in the small details which I think make a difference. Limited wine list also. Comfortable and a nice atmosphere though.
Delicious food in a beautiful garden setting The service is dreadful, we waited an hour for our food
We had an early dinner here tonight and I left with mixed feelings. The scallops were lovely and so was the lamb shank. I had steamed trout for main course and it was just bland. The pea veloute and broccoli, just left me feeling a bit disappointed and it felt like the fish of the day was just a bit of an afterthought. There was nothing to add a little extra to the dish and although well cooked, it was just beige. The endive and radicchio salad was just odd, with the radicchio nicely sliced, the endive was left as whole uncut leaves. Does that mean that I as the guest need to cut my salad in order to be able to mix it together? I just did not get the concept as it was not a visual thing (as the radicchio covered all of the endives and baby gem lettuce hearts underneath. The servers were friendly, but did not seem overly fussed, so topping up water was left to us and my comment about the trout being bland was shrugged off. They did remember what each of us ordered and were friendly when at the table. I dont mind paying for a good dining experience and although these are not Michelin star prices, I do believe it is expensive for what I would class as a bistro. Would I come again or recommend it? No.
Charming impeccable service.
We had an absolutely fantastic meal here. The food was excellent, the wine choices were interesting, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Not at all stuffy and in fact a very laidback feel but with top notch food, drink and service. Lovely ambience too. The only thing that surprised us is that we had to get a golf buggy from the hotel but that was quite fun.
Top place. Lovely setting, excellent staff. Made to feel comfortable throughout. Great food and far less fussy than I anticipated. Would definitely return.
Staff incredibly professional and friendly, beautiful surroundings, delicious food, generous portions. We arrived early and had cocktails in the snug. The staff called a taxi for us when we left, even that was top notch and smooth. Great for a special night out.
Delicious food, friendly service, beautiful grounds .. will definitely return
Wow..... what a hidden gem
The food is good but not amazing and if you are into fine dining where you go to bed hungry then this is for you but I have had far better meals for half the money, though, sadly, not in England. Friendly service, not stuffy, so you can relax.
Very lovely setting with most obliging staff. Super comfy bed and bath with charming decor. It is in its soft opening now but will only go from strength to strength. Sublime boiled eggs and toast!
A fabulous location with attentive servers. The food was very warm. The restaurant itself was overpopulated with middle aged men in white shirts and flared jeans. When the bill came I cried, because it was all over.
Lovely alternative to a gastro pub in a beautiful setting
Delightful staff and top quality food. Main house is a bit too stuffy and unwelcoming for my taste though. Will definitely be visiting the garden house again.
Superb setting and great food.
Loved the breakfast! Staff very attentive. Cosy, yet elegant atmosphere.
Good food, not too overpriced for what it is. Going with kids was a little awkward as there was hardly any background music making us very conscious of everyone else around us. We will return without the children next time.
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS AS USUAL!!! Service impeccable! Stunning location. Would recommend highly!
Delicious, wonderful food, service and garden.
Marvellous food and setting, perhaps not as tranquil as one might have expected but very enjoyable nevertheless. Will definitely be returning.
Love the service and made me and my daughter very welcome, and that day it was kate-marie birthday. Beautiful food
Very relaxing. Slow paced. Nice food
Amazing food. A must
Very expensive, very average, not worth the visit
Beautiful setting and service, great menu but quite rich. House salad was unbelievable when we had it in October. Apple tart tatin was UNREAL. So much burnt caramel goodness
Nice atmosphere (in the middle of nowhere!), really impressed with the food and a good selection of drinks. Would come again if ever in the area. Friendly staff as a plus.
Wonderful hotel with beautiful grounds and views. I will return next time to try the main house. The Japanese restaurant was a nice experience. Expect the highest of prices for very small portions. The preparation and taste was very good. The staff is professional and friendly.
Such a pleasant experience everytime. Food is incredible, service even better.
Beautiful place in beautiful surroundings . The food was delicious and the staff are happy and charming
Great food, great service, what more could you ask for?!
Great garden, good service n impeccable food
Delicious breakfast and beautiful garden
Gorgeous food and surroundings. A real treat
Fantastic food, wine and ambiance
Interesting food. Bigger portions than I would have expected. Service not great - has the feel of a hotel dining room. Staff were setting up breakfast buffet before we had finished our evening meal. Not cheap.
Great Food and service
Excellent food!
Outstanding food, with a comforting and peaceful setting
This place is close to Leatherhead and the M25 but feels like an escape into the depths of the countryside and into a very relaxing country house. The interior is welcoming and comfortable and the service is friendly but efficient. The menu might sound simple but the food is imaginatively cooked to a very high standard with excellent, often local, produce. Save room for some very fine puddings. Theres a well-chosen wine list too.
