5015 48a St, Leduc, AB T9E 6Y2, Canada
We serve authentic Mexican cuisine and Tex-Mex favourites. Tacos are the most popular item! Our famous hand-made salsas cover all heat levels from extremely mild to super hot. The restaurant is fully licensed, family-friendly, and has seating both inside and on the patio. We are a family-owned, independent local business proud to serve Leduc, Edmonton, and the surrounding communities. Hey Edmonton, we're located just 12 minutes south of Ellerslie!
Beef enchiladas. Nothing inside but some meat and drowned in sauce. Cheese was pre bought shredded, not fresh.
"★★★★★ This place is an absolute GEM! If you're craving **authentic** Mexican food, look no further. I had the chimichangas and enchiladas, and they were absolutely phenomenal—perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and so satisfying. Plus, their variant of salsa on the menu is amazing, adding the perfect kick to every dish. The flavors, quality, and atmosphere make this the best spot in the Edmonton area. The staff and service are outstanding—warm, friendly, and attentive. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out on a truly exceptional experience. Highly recommend!"
Honestly, worth a try. This place had the best Bacon wrapped Jalapenos I've come across local to the area. How ever I am giving the food a 4 star rating as the tacos we ordered came on flour tortillas, they would be so much better on corn tortillas. With that said, it still worth trying. The in house made salsas are flavor full. The service was exceptional also.
Absolutely delicious food and drinks. Brought my mum for her birthday and she was blown away with how good the food was Service is only getting 3 stars as my dad found a chunk of wood in his food (stabbed him in the mouth) and brought it up to the server and she just said “yea, we use wooden spoons when cooking” no offer of compensation really other than 10% off. Flavour wise the rest of the meal was great
This place is hidden downtown Leduc. Entering the door we were greeted with a Mi Casa Es Tu Casa atmosphere. The waitress serving us were being very accommodating of seating arrangements whether we wanted to be seated inside or in the outdoor patio. Although the food took quite a while it was worth the wait. What’s Mexican food without spice? You get to choose within the variety of spice levels (from mild to extreme) they have in their menu. Can’t wait to be back this place is a must visit if you’re ever in the south.
Large selection in the menu of food, drinks, and salsas. Delicious chips with a choice of salsa. Big portions and very satisfying meals. Very tasty!
FINALLY, I found a primo Mexican restaurant in Alberta. Have tried all the ones in Edmonton and Calgary and none come close to comparing with this gem. The sauces are delicious and spicy, with several varieties to choose from.
Super little Mexican restaurant. You actually get to pick your salsa for your chips. Very clean, and good service. Only issue was the tacos you can't split when for an upcharge. I was looking to try the chicken and beef but wasn't allowed to mix. So I settled on the chicken tostatos, which we get for
Terrible experience may be the worst service I ve ever experience. We didn t even get water! The food was also too spicy or too bland . We were really looking forward to this spot but it ended up ruining our evening.
Such amazing food. The city of Leduc and the entire capital region is fortunate to see a restaurant like this . . . That has such a great atmosphere with such amazing food. This is my first time there but I will be back.
Short version? This place is ok. When you re in Leduc late and want to eat something other than traditional Canadian pub food, Chinese food or pizza then this is the place to be. This place shines just a little brighter just because of location, if you put this in Edmonton it would be near the bottom of Mexican restaurants. The last few times we have been here I have gotten a chimichanga, taco salad, chips and salsa, cochinita pibil tacos, pastor tacos, and baja shrimp tacos most recently. I have a couple sticking points with this place, one being the salsas. I think they would benefit from cutting down to 4 salsas, a super mild, a chipotle, a jalapeño, and a habanero. It s like this place thinks you re too stupid to pick your own salsa. They give you either spicy or mild as an option but you don t get to choose beyond that. If you go to the 4 salsa and give me the three spicy ones in small portions I can find which one I like easier and enjoy my flavour profile more. This seems to be almost standard in Edmonton as you get tacos and they give you three little cups of salsa, I ve found the ones I like and buy them to take home as well. At this place though it s a guessing game of which one I even got. Sometimes doing so many options of something ruins the output of the kitchen and I think that kind of happens here. Do 4 really good salsas that are perfected, not 8 mediocre ones. That leads to the chips, if you re ok with Tostitos this is the place to order chips. If you ve had home fried from the tortillas chips then this is not the place to order chips. The refried beans and cilantro rice has got to go. I d prefer to not receive them and have the tacos be a little cheaper. They both add absolutely nothing flavour wise to the meal. The most recent baja shrimp tacos tasted a little like old burnt oil. They were ok, normally I would have went pastor but they didn t have it on the menu? Pastor is the most commonly enjoyed taco in my opinion and should always be there. Honestly though I don t recall their pastor being great anyways. Overall it s most likely the place that your elderly parents brought you to when you came to town because you told them like Mexican food. You were excited for a bit reading the menu and then most likely disappointed with the food in comparison to what most places are putting out. You then realized that it s pretty much the only option unless you want chicken wings or a burger so you accept it for what it is and come back here hoping the next thing you order will be redemption. So far no redemption.
The food was pretty good. Tasted authentically Mexican and was a delicious change from our standard North American fare we usually eat but the taquitos were a little bland. The crunch and outside of the taquitos were delicious though! The spicy food delivers and the different levels of spicy is accurate and appreciated. Atmosphere is great.
Love this place! Best Mexican food Ive had this side of the border! Very authentic flavours. Love the atmosphere too, 5/5 would recommend.
I hadnt been to Habaneros in a long time and was disappointed. It seems that in spite of making it clear that I had brought 2 people for their birthdays, nothing special was provided. I mean...nothing. The 2 people were not given a complimentary dessert. Had I known that Habaneros does not do something for people celebrating their special day, I would have gone elsewhere. Sad to say that I will remember this experience when dining out in the future.
Vegetarian options: Almost everything on the menu can be ordered with a tasty vegetable mix instead of meat. Food
My new favorite Mexican restaurant.
Pretty good tacos! Service was pretty slow.
Definitely 5 out of 5 been here I dont know how many times Ive been here it would be harder to figure out what I havent tried always good people
The service is so good. They bring the food fast. The food is ok averall. Taste like mucho burrito. Tried the quesadilla, a ton of cheese the chicken is ok and the overall flavor is ok too.
Awesome food, wonderful staff
I had a pleasant experience at this restaurant, where both the service and food were commendable. It offers a vibe reminiscent of classic American-Mexican chains, which I consider a positive, especially if you enjoyed places like Chi-Chi s back in the day. The portions were impressively large, ensuring you won t leave hungry. In terms of affordability, the prices seem reasonable by today s standards, though we don t dine out often. I do wish they d include a small portion of salsa and chips to elevate the experience; it s those little extras that used to make dining out feel special. We tried the Enchilada a la Diabla and the chorizo-filled Chimichanga, both of which were substantial. While the enchilada was a bit heavy on the sauce and I would have preferred the shrimp to be seasoned and grilled rather than steamed, the overall flavor was excellent, with just the right amount of heat. I would definitely return, especially if they add tacos al pastor to the menu, which I spotted in an ad in the restaurant but missed ordering. It would be great if servers mentioned daily specials or featured items when introducing themselves. Overall, a solid choice for a hearty meal!
Had 2 entrees, nachos and salsa, no drinks and ended up being $80 with 18% tip included. Food was OK but was not worth the cost, youre bordering on fine dining prices for a lunch
Food is good but a little on the pricey side. The biggest draw back for me is the expensive upcharge for their hot sauces . They do have a very good kids menu. Our service there was just so-so. We were the first people in the restaurant when they opened for the day. Our food and drinks came after several other tables who arrived after us and they mixed up some of our orders. My family was done eating by the time my fajitas finally arrived.
I haven t been for a while but I ve always loved Habaneros. Fresh Jamaica. Love
Great place for some Mexican food. Gotta try the guacaca dip!
Chimichangas are indeed to die for.
The baja shrimp was delicious appetizer and the Chimichanga with beef/ shrimp was extremely tasty and very filling.
Excellent food. Speaking as a taco enthusiast!
Vegan and GF options with amazing flavor! Was so impressed by this place, I stopped on an overnight layover and they were able to acomodate my GF and vegan diet. I got the fajitas with vegetables and corn tortillas and it was delicious! Good prices for the portions. I look forward to returning! Vegetarian options: lots of vegetarian options! Dietary restrictions: Vegan, Vegetarian, and GF
Very friendly and fast. Food was great and portioning is large.
Exceptional Mexican food and atmosphere! The Caesars are amazing as well!! Highly recommend!
Our server was completely lost. Had no idea what she was doing. Was running around to multiple tables, constantly forgetting stuff, drinks, side, dishes, sauces. Every table she went to she was saying sorry for something that she had missed previously. The food itself was not very good. I had the beef tacos besides the beef everything was very bland cold and came out on a plate looking like a child had assembled it. Was always told it was a good place but seems to be a hit or miss. Clearly I was there on a miss day. Music was cool and the vide was right on.
Very good food. Authentic. Nice flavour and spice level. Young relatively inexperienced waitstaff, but seem to be trying hard.
Food was amazing and was delivered so quickly. The wait staff was very nice and efficient too. Would definitely recommend!
I love this place and im a yyc and yeg gal. The quality of the food and service is impeccable. Honestly the best I have seen. We got our food and drinks fast and the food was amazing! You wont be disappointed. The bacon wrapped jalapeños are amazing and the chimichangas are to die for. Shout out to Larissa who did an amazing job serving us. The only improvement I think would be getting a rebrand, making the bulldogs not 18.99, updated pictures in the menu and a reno inside and your golden! My husband and I had an amazing time, we are definitely coming back again.
Yummy
Great range of delicious Mexican food, nice decor and pleasant service. The menu has good descriptions including an easy way to identify your preferred spice level. Nice cocktails, showcasing a local distillery. Main item to highlight are the Buffalo Baha Shrimp. These had the best beer batter that Ive tasted in North America. They could open a very successful side business serving fish and chips.
Was not very clean and food was mediocre.
Delicious Mexican cuisine.
I came in for a late lunch with a friend. The atmosphere feels authentically Mexican with the glazed tile floor, stone walls and paper lanterns everywhere. Service is quick, friendly, and exactly as ordered. The food is delicious, made with high quality ingredients.
One of my favorite Mexican places in the Edmonton area! The food is always delicious, and you get decently sized portions for the price.
The food is excellent. Service is great especially the staff.
Place is really good. If you like Mexican, Try it. Might be Little expensive.
Went here for the first time in July 5 2024. Felt like I was in Mexico! Ambience, food, service all top notch. I love supporting non chain businesses and was very happy with my experience . We had pork tacos, fajitas, Baja shrimp, 5 layer dip and the salsa sampler, would recommend all.
I ve been going to Habaneros for over a decade and sadly it s just continued to get worse and worse. From the bumbling intoxicated server that kept forgetting to grab our drink order from the bar, to the downsized overpriced menu ($18.99 for a bulldog and 6 strips of steak for the fajita). A great alternative I ve found is La patrona in Sherwood park.
Posting on behalf of my finances nd stepson who are traveling for work. This restaurant is absolutely terrible. We tried chorizo tacos and chimichangas. Both were not authentic Mexican food at all. Tacos were very dry and chalky tasting but sweet like there was cinnamon sugar added. Not edible. Chimichanga was full of uncooked onions with beef cheek and chorizo. Beef cheek was dry and chorizo was the same as in the tacos. But this was recommended by the waiter who after said he doesn t eat there. Service was just as sad. No refills on drinks and not once asked if we enjoyed our meal even after he took it all away hardly eaten.
The food here is delicious! I love this spot! Such an amazing restaurant. If you are a sangria lover though, this is not the place to come if you are looking to quench your thirst. Food : 5/5
The server (Sam) was incredible, extremely attentive and polite
The chicken filling in the enchiladas was dry & tasteless , the rice & beans unseasoned, chips & salsa are no longer even part of your meal . Habanero s restaurant is the offspring of Yote s Bar, both Leduc AB. Yote s is now closed, but the reverberation of their mouth watering food will forever live on in our $2beer tipsy hearts. My three children, husband, and I have dined at Habanero s for the better part of 8 yrs. our go-it delicious restaurant! today my husband surprised me with a lunch date to H s, our disappointment was conclusive .Habaneros has slipped into the mediocre pile of so-so restaurants in Leduc. The atmosphere is appealing and service far, but embrace for the unfortunate new norm of subpar, overpriced cuisine. RIP Yote s; your bar was sketchy but your food continues to be unmatched!
Great food, great service
Awesome food, convenient location if you live outside the city.
This place has always been a favorite of ours. Never disappoints !
Delicious and probably the closest thing to authentic Mexican without leaving Alberta the tortilla chips and salsa are home made and can be bought to take home which is a plus too!
Excellent food, Big selection of food , and drinks. Friendly staff, good size portions. Parking: Lots of places to park
We love stopping in Leduc for Mexican at Habanaros!! This visit I ordered the nachos which were delicious. I added beef!! I also enjoyed a spicy coconut margarita recommended by my waitress. Another great experience!!
I wanted to like this place, the ambiance is great, and the service is good. The food really isnt flavorful. The chorizo is completely lacking all spice and flavor, it is just ground pork. Maybe the lack of flavors and spice are partially why it is popular, however its not really mexican food.
First time visiting. The food was good, Ive had better, but it was still good. The service was alright, friendly, but not the fastest. The restaurant was not really busy at the time of visit. Overall, it was still a good experience and would go back if Im in the area.
Everything is awesome!! The teams is responsive, filling portions, fun atmosphere!!! We will make this a regular occurrence to make the drive from our of town for sure!! Kid-friendliness: The littles had enought different flair to keep them busy looking around until thier meals arrived.
Great food, great and fast service.
Normally, this restaurant rocks. Ive been here for supper with my family a few times. This was my first time for lunch. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow, and my calamari tacos were dry and not that flavorful. Ill be back, but today was a let down. Update: we visited with my family. Service was much better. We got red sangria, Shrimp tacos, chimichanga. Taco salad, chicken fajitas... we ask devoured it. Raised to 4 stars only because of the price. It was quite expensive for the 5 of us.
Great place to have mothers day supper at.
If you like Mexican food, I highly recommend Habaneros. I always get their salsa samplers when Im there - I love their salsas, especially the Sol De Maya and the Guasacaca. And I always order a Chimichanga. Ive tried the Taco Salad, as well. Its excellent - the shell they use for it tastes really good.
Good food for good money
We really enjoyed the large stuffed shrimp but my Fajitas were very bland...I used a lot of salt and pepper but really didnt cut it. Husbands tacos were dry and hard. Frankly we were disappointed.
Great service Love going there for a beer or food girls are alway very friendly.
If you like Mexican food you will like this place. The food and service was spot on when I was there.
We just recently moved to Leduc so we wanted to try some of the restaurants in the area and decided on Habaneros! We called in and booked a reservation for the 4 of us with ease. When we got there we were seated right away and our drink order was taken promptly. We got some of their amazing Caesars and some chips with salsa to start and we got to pick our salsa from their list of house made salsas which was super cool!! They were all different spice levels and our server made sure to warn us about them as my mom and I got one that was on the spicier side! It was definitely a hot one but in the best way, the flavor was amazing! Our meals were also 5 star quality super flavorful and the perfect serving sizes. We got the Tacos de Cachete (Medium), Tacos Cochinita Pibil (Hot), Chimichanga, and the garden salad with the Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette. Everything was a hit!! On top of all that the service throughout our meal was the best service we have had in years we never had to ask for more water and our dishes were always taken out of the way as soon as we were finished with them! (Unfortunately I cant remember our servers name) We already cant wait to come back and try some more of the delicious food! 10/10 would recommend to anyone craving delicious Mexican food!!
Highly recommended
awesome
Great experience and pleasantly surprised by this spot!! The food was GREAT. Everything was fresh and tasty. Drinks were well made and the atmosphere was fun and themed.
Had the beef chimichanga. Great choice. Had one of the homemade hot sauces, which was a great addition. Used to having different types of sauces on the table but not at this place. Still great overall.
Great place to eat. Service and food is excellent.
Very mediocre food as compare to the pricing. We ordered vegetarian tacos and vegetarian nachos. We are not impressed with the flavours to be honest and no vegan options.
Love this place. Always good food and drinks. Weve sat table and bar, both great experiences. Love the shirt the owner wears. Writing this review makes me wanna go get some tacos!
Such good food! Staff is awesome! Love this place!
So I love the food here. Also love the wonky atmosphere. We ve been here 3/4 times and every time the service is just so painfully slow. The servers are all sweet and great it s just the time that it takes is way too long.
Go for the margs, atmosphere and lovely staff
I just want to preface this lengthy, yapping review by stating that I have no joy in dragging a business around in the mud, especially one thats family-owned and considering the state of restaurants in this country at the moment. However, my experience at this establishment was so terrible that I feel compelled to share. I visited Habaneros with a friend tonight, as we were craving some Mexican food. Its typically slim pickings in Edmonton for this cuisine, so we took the drive down to Leduc to try this place. We started by sharing a plate of nachos with beef, whilst I ordered the diabla enchiladas with beef cheek. The nachos themselves were mediocre at best, considering that its pretty difficult to mess up nachos, cheese, and salsa. Nothing especially wrong with them, but nothing great either. The issue began with my main dish, the enchiladas. I cant properly describe what they tasted like, the best comparison I have is that the sauce covering the enchiladas tasted strongly of iron, like putting a quarter in your mouth. The beef was strange and consisted of a weird odour, but it was covered by the copious amounts of iron-like sauce on the food. My friend also complained of a weird odour from the chicken in his chimichanga meal. Suffice to say, I did not enjoy them. I very quickly began to enjoy them less as, twenty-five minutes past my consumption of the food, I felt my stomach twist and turn in agony. For lack of a better term, I was forced to rush to the bathroom and vomit my 25$ enchiladas into the washroom toilet. Not an ideal situation for a Saturday night dinner. However, the situation went from bad to worse as I reported my sickness to my waiter, who then got her manager. Now, admittedly, I was a bit curt and straightforward in my wording, maybe bordering on rude, but I was also feeling like my stomach had been punched in the gut by a Tyson Fury uppercut, so I was very much trying to leave. The manager, in response to my request to not pay for my food thanks to my sickness, muttered we served a lot of people today... as to, from my perspective, invalidate my request and sickness. I found this interesting, how does serving a large number of people automatically imply that its my fault for getting sick? As if she was insinuating that I was being difficult and causing problems. Its like writing seven tests, getting 100% on six of them, and then 0% on the seventh. The fact that you had six good tests doesnt invalidate the garbage seventh test, doesnt it? The manager then muttered afterwards, Its only been a short while, you dont get sick after a short while... Im sorry, would she have been better convinced if I grabbed the plate and threw up on there? Perhaps I couldve hurled into a bag and then showed the staff like its a trophy. Regardless, she took the enchiladas off the menu, but not before sternly and curtly reaffirming that we were paying for everything else, because it doesnt matter that a customer just threw up in your washroom, its more important to ensure that the money is made for the evening. Of course, nobody asked if I was alright, apologized, or anything of that sort for the entire night, which was a nice touch as I was withering in pain for twenty minutes. Again, I was pretty curt in my conversations with the waiter and manager, explaining how I wasnt going to pay for the food but still saying thank you and trying to maintain some decency while my stomach went on a rollercoaster. In response, I felt like I was treated like a burden and a liar, which didnt feel especially great. We left the restaurant in silence and I spent the next hour at my house throwing up the rest of my Mexican-inspired contents into my washroom toilet. A wonderful experience and a great way to spend my Saturday evening.
Cute little place, great food!! The pictures on their website dont do it justice. So much more delicious than I thought it would be! I had the beef carnada (?sp) it was delicious and just spicy enough! I dont however recommend the refried beans... disgusting (and I normally enjoy refried beans). Would recommend the taquitos, fajitas also Better bring your sea legs with you though, the tile is a tripp!
Love Habaneros! One of the best restaurants in town. Very large portions, and very tasty.
The food is always great and the margaritas are fantastic. Ive had many different items, but my faves are the salsa sampler, taquitos, and the empanadas. The flavors are vibrant and portions are huge. Our friends usually order the fajitas and the pan sizzles and smells amazing.
Beautiful decor and the food is amazing. Really friendly and attentive staff.
A hidden gem! Love the salsa combinations and general vibe of the restaurant.
Delicious! Everything I ve had here is delicious
Best restaurant in Leduc! Really enjoyed the traditional Mexican decor and awesome food! We were in a big group and the service was exceptional!
Best Mexican restaurant ever
Jem of leduc! Very good Mexican food, arguably the best restaurant in town. Mexican beer, fresh limes, food made with love. What more can you ask for. 10/10
Wonderful experience worth the drive from Red Deer ! We will be back !!
Food was so good! Our waitress was good about making sure we knew how spicy the food was and what our options were. Highly recommend this restaurant!!
Best authentic Mexican food in the area! One of my favorites restaurants. Highly recommended.
Best restaurant in Leduc, absolutely no competition. Wish they were open later!
Absolutely recommend!!!!! The food was delicious and perfectly done!!! And that scorpion pepper salsa was amazing!!! Ate half a 2 oz and they packed the rest up for me!!! Cant wait to make another visit, hopefully the diablo will be available
Authentic Mexican in the heart of Leduc. Try the shrimp tacos, they are spicy.
Absolutely some of the worst service I have ever received. Came in with my family. We stood at the front for about 10 mins. The bar staff just looked at us and said nothing. Finally someone came a sat us at a table. We waited for 20 mins before getting up and leaving since no one acknowledged our existence. Not a hi or anything. They took an order from a table they sat long after us, so we left. So disappointing because they really do have good food.
I really liked this patio. The food was good and the hospitality was great. The managers were out serving food to help on a busy day. Very good to see. My recommendations would be the baja shrimp appetizer, and the margarita. Two things that I d suggest for the business, adding an additive free tequila in the repesado and anejo(fortaleza, pasote, el tequileno) as a premium option. And a shrimp taco that has a bit brighter/citrus flavour or sauce. Overall I was very happy coming here. Hope to be back soon.
Love this place
have been going here for years, made a reservation for 12 for my birthday. service was bad food wasn t as good as usual and we waited over a hour for our food with no server to be found asked for refills for the kids never got them. they did bring me a birthday dessert and put it beside my empty plate as no dishes were removed and no offer of coffee or any dessert for my guests. i guess it s time to find a new mexican restaurant!
Best, nicest, most awesome customer service. And the food is unbelievable. Great food, great price, great people. Vegetarian options: So many options that youll have no issue Parking: Decent amount, but plenty near by. Kid-friendliness: Super nice to any kid Ive seen in there
Good Mexican Food and great service
Amazing place for mexican food. It was so delicious that we ate a lot more than we needed.
Best mexican food I have ever had in Canada. Staff are friendly and food is so yummy
The food is absolutely amazing. The service wasnt the best - but we could have had our server on a bad day? She was friendly, just not as attentive as were used to.
In the past it has been outstanding, this last visit was disappointing. It seemed as though the food was left under a heat lamp too long.
Food was cold and had liquid around it which indicates to me it s pre-made and left somewhere in a fridge / freezer till ordered?
Just enjoyed drinks and nachos on their covered patio. The stand out was our outstanding server Rachel C. She was extremely helpful in selecting our food and drinks, fast service, always checked in on us and making sure we were happy. She was the best server I ve seen at any restaurant all year. Highly recommend the food, drinks and restaurant as well but a server makes all the difference in your experience. Thank you Rachel! (From onion allergy lady)
Best beef cheek in Leduc
Food was delicious just a bit disappointing that they didnt have Telenovela on their TVs.
Absolute worst service I have ever had. Didnt even catch the servers name. I think we saw him once. But he was a tall, young guy. He frequently came to check the tables surrounding us, while avoiding us. I flagged down a bus boy, and ordered some food from him. We ordered a virgin margarita, that was undrinkable. It was literally straight lemon juice. It was so sour, neither my wife or I could drink it. When we asked them to remake it, they said they could water it down for us. We said not to bother. We left the drink untouched, and were still charged for it. 7$. They actually charged us the same for the virgin margarita as they did our other tequila drink. We had to flag down other tables servers and bus boys to get the basics for our meal. Ive seen this server here before and it makes me wonder what management is thinking letting this guy ruin the restaurants reputation.
First Time at Habaneros. Main dish meal was good very authentic. Downside was the rice was plain. No flavour. Recommend using Mexican rice. When served a shared dish like chips and salsa no small server plates were offered.
Superb
If you are looking for authentic Mexican this is the place! It is worth the drive out to Leduc. I had the fish tacos and they were so good! We also have their three salsa and chips which were also a great way to start the meal. The heat on the one we had was a kicker, but they also had so many options for heat levels everyone at the table enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I think we had a new server, because when we were asking questions he did not have any idea or recommendations, and also was pretty slow at refills and checking in. But food, atmosphere and authenticity all five stars in our books.
The exterior is not much to look at but this hides a hidden gem in Leduc. The food looks like Tex Mex but is very authentic and well made using local beef. The sauces and salsas were flavourful and varied. The beef cheeks were very tender and flavourful. The cocktails were great and I liked the Mezcal. The interior atmosphere and decorations are nice and the patio while small is enjoyable to be in. Definitely nice to be sitting on the patio on a nice day. Kid-friendliness: Family friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible
Great place to have some good food and drinks.
I never do this. But our server was terrible. We told her that our drinks tasted like chemicals. Then she said that she drinks the water here all the time and its fine. She came back with 2 new glasses of water. (Also tasted like chemicals). Then she said our dishwasher is up to par and doesnt know what were talking about. I told her to try the water. Then she got defensive and said I dont like drinking from other peoples cups. Thats not what I meant. But anyways.. on our way out, we heard another couple complaining about the chemical taste in their drinks. We had a terrible server, the food was good, and the drinks tasted like chemicals. Its expensive.
This was a pleasant find after dropping our bags at the airport for a quick bite to eat. Loved the decor and enjoyed the food. Service was in training so room to grow here. But we will be back!
Food and atmosphere was amazing. Portion sizes were great. We left feeling full. The staff were super nice and brought out our food quickly.
Fantastic Mexican restaurant.
Enchilada was great! Also tried the fajitas and found it was a bit bland. Refried beans and rice were tasty and well seasoned. Definetly recommend!
Magnifico! Will come back again on next trip to Edmonton!
Food was good, a bit pricey, server was inexperienced, almost to the point of pestering us while we were trying to visit and just enjoy our time at the restaurant.
Food was amazing, drinks were amazing. Kid-friendliness: Picky kids even liked the meals! Food : 5/5 |
We took the kids there this evening! Had great service from Sam and the other staff! Very friendly, welcoming and inviting.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere. Service was quick and friendly. Grabbed a few bottles of their signature salsa to go!
I am Mexican and I can say that the seasoning of their cuisine is one of the best I have tried here in Alberta.
Food was great, service solid. If youre looking for milder, go burrito. For a flavour bomb, the Enchilada Verde with beef cheek is great, and the Chimichanga superb!
Great food and great service!
I had a fantastic meal and drinks. Was good and will go again.
Habaneros is authentic! Food is super flavourful. Drinks are fancy. Outdoor seating perfect for summer evenings. And you can get take out!
My favourite Leduc restaurant. Food is always very good and the restaurant has a great Mexican vibe.
After having a stressful week with work and family, I enjoyed 3 pints of the house lager and all my problems disappeared!! Oh and the food was fantastic as well. Food
It used to be a good restaurant pre-pandemic. Last 2 experiences have been very disappointing.
Food was tasty.
Great local restaurant with a fun atmosphere and nice menu choices.
Beer wasnt cold
I enjoyed the atmosphere, lots of Mexican culture. Food was very good and I would definitely go back.
Awesome food, family friendly.
My wife and I had dinner today. It was okay. It was typical local Mexican food. It was not a fancy or fine restaurant. Maybe I will go back to spend a night with my wife.
Always a a positive experience here. Food has always been good, appetizers are a great starting point. They have an amazing salsa selection, all sorts of different flavors and spiciness levels. They definitely have a lot of different entree choices and most can be tailored to vegetarian. Just make sure to ask your server. Also a wide selection of iced drink choices. Great place to bring family and friends.
Really friendly staff here
If you are flying out of Edmonton you have to stop in here. Great food, great atmosphere.
The food is always phenomenal - our service last visit couldn t be beat, our server would bring things right before I realized I needed them.
Delicious! We had the chimichangas, tacos & quesadillas. Large portions. Hubby ordered a Ceasar and it comes with a deep fried, bacon wrapped jalapeño with cream cheese filling. I could ve eaten a whole plate of those. We can t wait to come back
Great food, service and ambience. Large portions. Must visit if in Leduc Vegetarian options: Can sub beef for bean. They have other Veg options too. Food : 4/5 |
Very good atmosphere, great food. Highly recommend.
Weve lived in Leduc for 7 years and finally decided to try out Habaneros with a visiting cousin. We were not disappointed! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy, inviting and lively. Major recommendation: Get the Churros for dessert. Parking: Parking can be tough to find, but theres lots of spots available around main street within short walking distance.
First time I ever had to pay $4.50 extra for really bad, old, dry chips and a thimble of ketchup-like salsa. Also subbed sour cream for guacamole ($4.99 extra) Instead of chicken or beef fajita i asked for a 50/50..this was $9.99 extra. bottle of wine was so/so. definitely not a $100 experience. be sure to ask what every single thing costs before you order it. will never go back. Parking: n/a..i parked on the street
Our daughters favorite restaurant asks to go there every year for her Birthday. Thanks to all the staff for making it a great day for her!
They asked how the food was before I got the food. 10/10 I love this place. Almost as good as Craig No Frills.
Good food but chicken in quesadillas is always dry
Good food, excellent service, and great ambiance. Must try at least once.
Super tasty! I got a beef burrito and my wife got a chimichanga. Will come again if Im around Leduc.
The food was superrrrr yummy we had the Chimichanga and the Enchiladas. The atmosphere is unique too! Loved the Caesar s and the frozen margs looked massive though I didn t try one but will next time. Would definitely recommend.
This place in an absolute must for anything authentic Mexican
This Mexican spot really stood out to me. The whole experience was fantastic, making me want to go back again soon. Even the trip from Calgary was worth it. The caesar was top-notch, and the jalapeño popper that came with it was absolutely phenomenal. Definitely recommend checking this place out.
First time visit, had the chicken tacos. Very nice flavor and good portion size
I mean really excellent food. Flavours wow salsas to die for.
Great food,, great people
Love Habaneros! Amazing Mexican cuisine that is probably one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in the greater Edmonton area. The staff are all very friendly, fast, and fun. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. If you haven t been, go here. If you have been, go again!
The extremely spicy salsa really is just that. Trust me u will die Kid-friendliness: Kids menu and things to draw on with crayons and high seats and the atmosphere is loud enough for kids Food : 5/5 |
The two of us got our food when the other people in our group were almost done eating and never came Back for refills or asking if we needed anything
So this place is really amazing BUT! Nickeled and dimed on our Taco Salad so much so it was $30! Fajitas and a Corona came to $30. Our server was wonderful, make no mistake, but when there are going to be $10 of extras on a $19 salad, as they offer said extras, without telling you, I don t think that s fair. If you get chicken instead of beef that s a charge tiny salsa is a charge and guacamole (which we normally expect) but not $10. Order the fajitas but! If you get the beef it s more money than the chicken! Food service and atmosphere was great though. Order the fajitas
Seriously the best. We come from the city all the time. Our favorite is the Chimichangas - any meat is fantastic. Great service, great appetizers and desserts as well. Something for the whole family. Vegetarian options: Some good veg options! Just ask.
THEY HAD NO CHEESE!!!
Our server Sam when shes there offers the best service compared to the other servers weve had here in the past.
Very authentic Mexican food. A good selection of salsa In all variations of heat. The Sol de maya is super tasty. if you can handle the heat the scorpion sting is top notch. The atmosphere is a nice casual feel with lots of cool little items staged around. See something new all the time. Lastly, do a shot of the Kah Anejo to kick your evening off right.
Great food at a reasonable price

Great place to go
My family and I have ate here many times, we are always satisfied with our service and meal. I recently ordered a taco bar for my employees. The food was absolutely delicious, it was ready when I asked for ut to be. There was plenty of food for everyone. All of my employees were very happy! Thanks Habaneros!
Some of the best mexican food Ive had.
Definitely worth the drive to Leduc. Great flavours with nice warmth in the spices. The deep fried ice cream was tasty.
Love the food here and bonus for us now since our favorite server Rachel is working here
